[[header:Edolas]]

A world parallel to Earth-land, where the bulk of ''Manga/FairyTail'' takes place. It is inhabited entirely by counterparts of characters throughout the series. However, magic is limited in Edolas and treated as a precious resource.

[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder:General Tropes]]
* BadassNormal: Edolas humans have no innate magical powers, so they have to rely on magical tools. They are not less badass for it though.
* BizarroUniverse: Many characters have reversed personalities from their Earth-land counterparts. For example, Gray wears tons of clothes and is madly in love with Juvia, who can't stand him.
* TheBusCameBack: After the titular arc, Edolas and its inhabitants only receive mentions here and there for the rest of the story, usually in relation to Mystogan, Porylusica and Panther Lily, [[spoiler:but in ''Manga/FairyTail100YearsQuest'', Edolas gets thrust right back into the plot when the White Mage and Fairy Tail's strongest team are warped there by the former.]]
* DarkIsNotEvil: In a sense. Fairy Tail technically exists as a 'dark' guild due to lack of official sanction from the Edolas government, but that doesn't mean they're evil.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Wendy and Carla stumble upon a house inside a forest willow that is inhabited by nobody, but looks suspiciously like Porylusica's choice of residence back on Earth-land. Some time later, Porlyusica reveals she is originally from Edolas, and while it's never clearly stated whose house that was, the fact that Wendy found and took some feminine clothing meant to fit a younger girl was probably a good indicator that the place was Porlyusica's long-since abandoned childhood home.
* IdenticalStranger: All Edolas counterparts of Earthland characters are this. This trope also gets PlayedWith during the Edolas arc as Lucy Ashley (Edolas) and Erza Nightwalker (Edolas) [[DefiedTrope cut their hair]] to avoid confusion, Ichiya is an [[CatsAreMagic Exceed]], and all characters' Edolas counterparts' appearances (Wendy) or personalities are different (except for Mirajane).
* YearInsideHourOutside: {{Averted}} in that time flows at the same rate in Edolas as in Earthland, [[spoiler:but when Natsu and company end up back in Edolas during ''100 Years Quest'', for their counterparts in Edolas they've lived the full nine years since the dimensional separation while the gang has only lived through two years (due to the seven years suspended in time on Sirius Island). This comes as a shock especially for Lucy and Gray, who learn that not only have their Edolas counterparts gotten married to their respective ShipTease pairing (Natsu and Juvia) in that time, they've had ''[[BabiesEverAfter kids]]''.]]

The king of Edolas and father of Mystogan, who is Jellal Fernandez's Edolas counterpart. He is obsessed with bestowing an everlasting supply of magic on his kingdom, and he tries to do so by stealing magic from Earth-land through inter-dimensional portals called Anima, one of which transforms the entire Fairy Tail guild into a giant lacrima crystal.
----
* AdaptationalHeroism: In the anime, he grows to regret his actions, and turns over a new leaf after being banished from Edolas.
* ArchnemesisDad: To his son Mystogan/Jellal, who dedicates his life to stopping Faust's genocidal plans.
* ArcVillain: The main antagonist of the Edolas arc, where he converts almost the entire Fairy Tail guild into a massive lacrima crystal and attempts to slam it into the native Exceed race's city Extalia, destroying both in an insane plot to bestow eternal magic power onto his world.
* BadassLongRobe: His royal garb makes him quite an intimidating-looking villain.
* BeardOfEvil: He sports one of the more impressive villain beards in the series.
* TheCaligula: This king is crazy enough to a.) Convert the denizens of an alternate dimension into fuel for his world's magic; b.) Commit mass genocide on his own people's "gods" to carry out his plan; and c.) [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking Keep an entire amusement park in his castle]].
* EvilCounterpart: He serves as one for his son, Jellal (a.k.a. Mystogan): Faust is willing to steal Earth-land's race to ensure his own kingdom thrives, while Mystogan willingly destroys his own world in order to rebuild it to save Earth-land. The anime also reveals him to be a taller, crazier, eviller version of Makarov.
* EvilIsHammy: As someone who is quite insane, he's prone to making grand, over-the-top speeches about his evil plans.
* EvilOldFolks: He's an old man who plans to sacrifice countless innocents for his own selfish desires.
* TheExile: In the anime, he goes into exile after being tried by his son.
* GodzillaThreshold: Activating and using the Dorma Armin is this to the point it's actually forbidden by the royal government to unseal it. It's the most powerful magic weapon in all of Edolas, but in order to function it needs to constantly drain magic power from the planet or it's just a hunk of metal. As magic power in Edolas is finite and doesn't replenish naturally like in Earthland, using the Dorma Armin for an extended period of time will inevitably [[TheMagicGoesAway cause magic's disappearance]]. Faust however demands for it to be unsealed so he can put an end to Fairy Tail's meddling once and for all.
* {{Greed}}: He isn't happy with "just enough" magical power for his kingdom; he wants ''infinite'' magical power, and he will do everything to achieve it. It also doubles as his FatalFlaw.
* HumiliationConga: After getting the crap beaten out of him, he nearly pisses his pants when confronted with the image of three incredibly large dragons, is then tied to a post and forced to be a prisoner of "Great Demon Lord Dragneel", and later gets ignored and [[FunnyBackgroundEvent buried underneath some rubble]]. The anime extends his punishment by [[TheExile exiling him for good]].
* HumblePie: In the anime, he mellows out considerably after Natsu defeats him. He even asks Natsu if guilds are fun, [[SomethingOnlyTheyWouldSay which tips Natsu off to who his Earth-land counterpart could be]].[[note]]Makarov[[/note]]
* HumongousMecha: He pilots a dragon-shaped mecha called Dorma Anim. It uses uses {{Magitek}} and AntiMagic, and has defenses as strong as a real dragon's.
* {{Hypocrite}}: For all his claims of wanting to obtain an infinite supply of magic power for Edolas, he has no problems draining its already finite and dwindling supply just to power the Dorma Armin [[DrunkOnTheDarkSide and clearly reveling in the action]] without obvious concern for the world.
* IHaveNoSon: Outright states it to his son, Jellal (Mystogan), who left their world specifically to foil his plans.
* InterimVillain: One of the few major villains with no connection to either Zeref or Acnologia.
* KickTheDog: Natsu and co. take it very badly when he breaks off some of the lacrima made from their friends. Later, he burns Coco's legs when she protests to firing the Dragon Chain Cannon when Panther Lily is in the line of fire. This trope is played in a literal sense too thanks to Coco's AnimalMotif.
* NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist: He just wanted to bestow an endless supply of magic and save Edolas... by using the lacrima made from Fairy Tail and the Dragon Chain Cannon to destroy Extalia. Later still, during his battle with the Dragon Slayers, he has no problem draining Edolas' finite magic supply via the Dorma Armin just to power up enough to capture them to start his plans again.
* OmnicidalManiac: He's willing to kill off everyone to achieve his goals, including the Exceeds. Even the very world he claims he wants to help is not exempt considering his rampant use of Dorma Armin despite its magical drain.
* RageAgainstTheHeavens: He turns a bunch of what are effectively angels into magic power, then, after that stunning display of heresy, proceeds to make a crazy speech about how his kingdom needs to [[KillTheGod kill the Queen of heaven]].
* StaffOfAuthority: He carries a staff that also fires bolts of magic energy.
* TheStarscream: He plans to overthrow Queen Chagot, the "god" of his world, by annihilating her entire race using the lacrima made from the people of Magnolia.
* UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans: He intends to bestow an eternal supply of magic for the good of the kingdom, or so it originally seems...

[[folder:Royal Military in General]]
* AntiVillain: They're not inherently evil just because they plan to turn Fairy Tail's friends into magic energy; they're just desperate because they believe their world cannot survive without magic.
* BadassNormal: Their magic lies solely in their weaponry, yet they're fully capable of taking on Fairy Tail's strongest team blow-for-blow.
* HeelFaceTurn: Their change of heart after being defeated is more evident in the anime, where they gladly carry out their sentences for their crimes by helping rebuild their world.
* QuirkyMinibossSquad: The Royal Military Commanders serve as this.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Sadistic and/or violent tendencies aside, they genuinely believe that sacrificing the people of Earth-land will save their world. Because of their concern for their people, the anime adaptation shows Mystogan giving them a more lenient punishment than their much more self-centered former king Faust.

Erza Scarlet's Edolas counterpart, Nightwalker is the commander of the Second Magical Warfare Division in the Royal Military. Nightwalker is a ruthless warrior who has hunted down a great many members of Fairy Tail in her world, earning the title of "Fairy Hunter". She wields a magical spear called Ten Commandments, which can change its form and abilities on her command.
----
* AntiMagic: Rune Save, one of her Ten Commandments' forms, is able to completely cut through her opponents' magic.
* BerserkButton: [[spoiler:In ''100 Years Quest'', she gets pissed when people address Mystogan familiarly because she wants her king to be treated with reverence.]]
* {{BFG}}: One of her Ten Commandments' forms.
* BodyguardCrush: [[spoiler:In ''100 Years Quest'', Edo-Erza serves as Mystogan's knight and personal bodyguard. When Gray asks if she has fallen for her king, she embarrassingly says he's the "light of her life".]]
* ChainmailBikini: She wears a skimpy one in contrast to Erza, whose customary attire is full battle armor.
* ContinuityCameo: Her spear, the Ten Commandments, is based on the sword of the same name from ''Manga/RaveMaster''. It even has the same abilities.
* DarkActionGirl: Being Erza Scarlet's Edolas counterpart and a SociopathicSoldier who fights Scarlet to a draw before a HeelFaceTurn, she definitely counts.
* DualWielding: Her spear's Blue Crimson form splits it into two weapons with [[PlayingWithFire fire]] and [[AnIcePerson ice]] magic.
* ElementalPowers: Several of her Ten Commandments' forms have these powers, including [[AnIcePerson Blue]] [[PlayingWithFire Crimson]], [[BlowYouAway Mel Force]], and [[GravityMaster Gravity Core]].
* EvilCounterpart: She is a sociopathic version of Erza Scarlet. As they fight, however, Scarlet realizes that she and Nightwalker aren't so different, since Nightwalker would also go to great lengths for her people.
* EvilRedhead: She has long, scarlet hair just like her Earth-land counterpart, but she's far from moral.
%%* EvilSoundsDeep: She takes Erza's deep voice and uses it to more intimidating effect.
* FieryRedhead: She's even more HotBlooded than Earth-land's Erza.
* HandOrObjectUnderwear: She covers herself with her scarf after Scarlet steals her top in the manga, which [[{{Underboobs}} barely covers her chest]].
* ImportantHaircut: After Scarlet successfully impersonates her to trick Faust, Nightwalker lops her hair down to a bob to keep her from doing it again. [[spoiler:She grew it back out over the nine years since.]]
* InconsistentSpelling: Her name is spelled "Knightwalker" by Funimation.
* InfinityPlusOneSword: Her Sacred Spear: Ravelt is the Ten Commandments' most powerful form. However, it shatters after going up against Scarlet's equally powerful Armadura Fairy armor.
* KickTheDog: She torments Earth-land's Lucy by relishing in her cruel nature while preparing to execute her, knowing fully well that she resembles someone Lucy dearly admires.
* LastNameBasis: She and Erza Scarlet do this mutually, since they detest that the other is sided with the enemy. They both drop this when they decide they're not so different.
* LeotardOfPower: This becomes her outfit after getting her armor stolen by Scarlet.
* LukeNounverber: Her name is Erza Nightwalker/[[InconsistentSpelling Knightwalker]], no matter how you spell it.
* MirrorMatch: Her fights with Scarlet boil down to this. The two are evenly matched throughout, and even use the same basic type of magic. In the end, neither are able to best each other, and their match ends in a draw.
* MuggedForDisguise: At one point, Scarlet manages to [[ImpersonatingTheEvilTwin impersonate]] Nightwalker by knocking her unconscious and stealing her armor.
* NinjaMaid: [[spoiler:She's become this for Mystogan as shown in ''100 Years Quest'', still retaining her position as a captain while now also serving as his personal bodyguard and dressing like a maid for some reason.]]
* RedBaron: She is known as "Fairy Hunter" Erza, since she has killed more members of her world's Fairy Tail than any other.
* ScarfOfAsskicking: Her combat armor comes with a scarf.
* ScarsAreForever: She gets a small horizontal scar over her nose after her initial battle with Scarlet. [[spoiler:She still has it nine years later in ''100 Years Quest''.]]
* SociopathicSoldier: She herself says she enjoys watching others suffer and is proud that she killed more Fairy Tail members than anyone else.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: She wears a skimpy ChainmailBikini for most appearances.
* TalkingTheMonsterToDeath: Once Scarlet points out that they are still fighting even after using up all their magic, thus proving that her people don't need magic to survive, she's able to talk Nightwalker out of dragging their match on any further.
* {{Tsundere}}: [[spoiler:''100 Years Quest'' reveals she's developed into this for Mystogan over the past nine years since the Edolas Arc, openly shouting that she's not in love with him and that he's only "the light of my life" while blushing.]]
* UndyingLoyalty: [[spoiler:Nine years after the Edolas arc, she has become fervently loyal to her king Mystogan.]]

Commander of the Third Magical Warfare Division in the Royal Military. He keeps a wand called the Command Tact that lets him control everything in Faust's indoor amusement park.
----
* AmbiguouslyGay: Not only does he [[IgnoreTheFanservice ignore Lucy's sexy distraction]], but he and Sugar Boy share a tender moment when they think it's TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt in the anime.
* BullyingADragon: He laughs at the prospect of Lucy being tortured and then executed, just to piss Natsu off. This comes back to [[OhCrap bite him in the ass once Natsu gets loose]].
* {{Jerkass}}: He has absolutely zero care for others, and is a complete {{Troll}} who loves making his enemies think they have an advantage before turning the tables.
* LackOfEmpathy: The other commanders at least have some sense of loyalty to king or country that motivates their actions. Hughes just likes the idea of having infinite magic to play with, Magnolia's population be damned.
* MarionetteMaster: His Command Tact lets him control just about everything around him, including water and roller coasters.
* NotDistractedByTheSexy: Hughes acts completely stone-faced about Lucy acting sexy in front of him and attacks her.
* OhCrap: He did not expect Natsu's UnstoppableRage.
* PsychopathicManchild: He entertains himself by torturing victims in his AmusementParkOfDoom.

Commander of the Fourth Magical Warfare Division in the Royal Military. His sword, Rosa Espada, can turn anything it touches into a liquid.
----
* AffablyEvil: He doesn't display any noticeable psychotic tendencies and is fairly polite, if [[DeadpanSnarker snarky]], to Gray.
* AnimeHair: He has an especially ridiculous pompadour.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Despite being incredibly hammy, he's actually the sanest and most reasonable of all the Commanders.
* CoolSword: Rosa Espada, which can cause anything it touches to soften and melt.
* {{Flight}}: Amusingly, he has no idea how he does this. He just does.
* FluffyTheTerrible: Sugar Boy isn't exactly a name that inspires terror in the hearts of evildoers, yet he is still a formidable foe for Gray.
* HeartIsAnAwesomePower: A sword that softens things may seem weak, but is far more dangerous and trickier than it looks.
* TheNicknamer: He makes a habit of calling people nicknames, such as calling Gray "Ice Boy." [[spoiler:He gives Natsu, Happy, and Lucy the nicknames "Fire Boy", "Kitty Boy", and "Milk Girl" when they meet again during ''100 Years Quest''.]]
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: He almost looks like a parody of some WesternAnimation KnightInShiningArmor, with the chiseled jawbone and sharp eyes.
* PermaStubble: His chin is already quite prominent, the fuzz just makes it more so.
* RealMenWearPink: His armor is colored pink.
* UnderwearOfPower: He wears greaves, a breastplate, gauntlets, bracers, pauldrons...but not pants.
* WeaksauceWeakness: While Rosa Espada makes things softer, it doesn't alter their other characteristics. For example, soft ice is still slippery and cold.
* WhatTheHellHero: Calls out Gray for destroying the Dragon Chain Cannon's key, as without it Gray has seemingly destroyed any chance of saving his friends from their lacrima states. Of course, Gray then reveals he can easily make a copy out of ice.

* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: Turns himself into a giant octopus to fight Lucy.
* CombatTentacles: In his octopus form, naturally.
* ElementalPowers: He fights with magical liquids that turn into elements like fire or wind when used in battle.
* EvilGenius: Well, he ''is'' a MadScientist after all.
* EvilOldFolks: He's an unpleasant old man who oversees the torture of the Dragon Slayers.
* KickTheDog: He has no problems killing Coco to get the key to the Dragon Chain Cannon.
* MadScientist: He seems to be partially responsible for all the crazy weapons Edolas has.
* MiniatureSeniorCitizens: In a hunched, creepier way than usual.
* OneWingedAngel: Drinking his "Octopus Liquid" turns him into a giant octopus monster.
* SpeechImpediment: He has an extremely noticeable lisp, though it's absent in the English version.
* WouldHurtAChild: Not only does he torture Wendy alongside Natsu to extract their magic, he also tries killing his own aide, Coco, for insubordination.

Byro's aide in the Royal Military. She also manages the Legions, large winged beasts that are used in the military as mounts.
----
* AgonyOfTheFeet: Faust burns her feet with magic after she steals the key from him.
* AnimalMotifs: Has the distinct resemblance of a dog, and her constant running around is often compared to that of an excitable puppy.
* BigDamnHeroes: Rescues Natsu, Gray, and Erza from certain execution by the army atop her herd of Legions.
* BlushSticker: To go with her cute, puppy-like appearance.
* EasilyForgiven: In the anime, Mystogan lets Coco off the hook without so much as a slap on the wrist due to her HeelFaceTurn, unlike her fellow Royal Military companions, who are sentenced to help rebuild the city destroyed by their actions.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: She might have helped Faust with his EvilPlan, but she's hesitant to see Panther Lily die and surrender the lacrima made up of Fairy Tail's friends when Faust is about to unleash his evil plan. That's one of the reasons she has a HeelFaceTurn later on.
* GenkiGirl: She's very hyperactive, sprinting from one end of Faust's throne room to the other just to respond to a question.
* GiantFlyer: She rides a massive, winged beast called a Legion.
* HeelFaceTurn: She loves [[TrueCompanions her friends]] more than sacrificing them for eternal magic and betrays the military to help Fairy Tail.
* HumanHummingbird: She runs so quickly, her legs are barely visible.
* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: She doesn't react well to Faust frying her legs for sticking up for Panther Lily.
* MyCountryRightOrWrong: Even after she's mistreated by King Faust, her loyalty to her country causes her to hesitate giving the key to the Draconic Chain Cannon to Fairy Tail, since she doesn't want Panther Lily to be killed, but she also doesn't want to surrender the lacrima made up of Fairy Tail's friends. Eventually, seeing Fairy Tail's friendship inspires her to pull a HeelFaceTurn.
* NonActionGuy: She is the only member of the military who has no weapons or fighting experience of her own.
* PerkyFemaleMinion: She is the most chipper member of the Royal Military.
* PrefersGoingBarefoot: Despite having access to shoes, Coco prefers to go barefoot everywhere.
* RankUp: In ''100 Years Quest'', it's revealed [[spoiler:she took Panther Lily's place as the Commander of the First Magical Warfare Division in the Royal Military.]]
* SheIsAllGrownUp: [[spoiler:''100 Years Quest'' reveals she got a growth spurt in height and the chest during the nine years since the Edolas Arc.]]
* TokenGoodTeammate: While her comrades have good intentions for their country, Coco is the only member of the Edolas Royal Military who actively values her friends' lives, paving the way for her eventual HeelFaceTurn.

!!Fairy Tail

The Edolas version of the Fairy Tail guild. Because magic is mostly outlawed outside the kingdom, they exist as a dark guild on the run from the royal military and are the only magic guild left standing in Edolas.

[[folder:Fairy Tail in General]]
* AlternateSelf: All of the guilds' members are this to Earth-land's Fairy Tail, each having one or more of their character traits reversed (Lucy is a brutish {{Jerkass}}, [[HotBlooded Natsu]] is a wimp who loves vehicles, Gray is an over-dresser in love with Juvia, etc.).
* BadassNormal: They don't have any magic of their own, but with their magic weapons, they have enough mettle to take the royal military head-on.
%%* BigDamnHeroes: First Lucy, then Natsu, and finally the entire guild.
* DarkIsNotEvil: They may be a dark guild, but they cherish their guildmates just as much as their Earth-land counterparts do, and lend an ear and a helping hand to their Earth-land counterparts on multiple occasions.
* DoubleStandardAbuseFemaleOnMale: In the anime, all the women in the guild force the men to move their guildhall by hand after all the magic in Edolas disappears.
* InSpiteOfANail: The guild's members are all more or less the same in Edolas as they are in Earth-land, with the exception of Erza, who wound up with the royal military, and ([[AdaptationExpansion in the anime]]) Makarov, who is the king.
* PyrrhicVictory: Though they succeed in fending off the military, the victory is soured by the loss of magic in Edolas, which they take to mean the end of their world.
* SternChase: They are constantly hunted by the Royal Military, and have modified their guild hall to burrow underground and make quick escapes.

Lucy Heartfilia's Edolas counterpart, and the acting leader of Edolas Fairy Tail. She's tough-as-nails and masculine, and mostly garners her guild's respect through intimidation.
----
* AdaptationalModesty: The anime greatly tones down the {{Stripperific}} elements of her outfit from the manga.
* AngerBornOfWorry: In her introduction, Edo-Lucy mistakes Earth-Natsu for Edo-Natsu and hugs him while telling him how worried she was after not knowing where he was in a while. Then she proceeds to punish him with her wrestling moves.
* BerserkButton: She doesn't take kindly to her Earth-land friends calling her [[InSeriesNickname "Scary-Lucy"]].
* BigDamnHeroes: She saves Earth-Natsu and his team from a giant frog when they're still BroughtDownToNormal.
* BoyishShortHair: She asks Cancer to cut her hair to look different from her Earth-land counterpart. It suits her better given that she's way cruder and violent compared to Earth-Lucy.
%%* {{Delinquent}}
* DressedLikeADominatrix: In the manga, she wears a revealing, black leather leotard with a large erect collar and NavelDeepNeckline. She also has thigh-high boots and wields a magic whip on top of it all. The anime averts this by having her wear a much more conservative outfit.
* FashionableAsymmetry: She wears a side ponytail like Lucy, and a metal guard on her right shoulder.
* HairTriggerTemper: Gets extremely angry with minimal provocation, and usually deals with it by attacking Natsu.
* HellBentForLeather: To play up her being HotterAndSexier than Earth-Lucy, she wears leather pants and a corset.
* ImportantHaircut: She initially matches her hairstyle with Earth-Lucy, so when she meets her counterpart, she cuts her own hair short to avoid confusion.
* InSeriesNickname: Called "Scary-Lucy" by most of the Earth-land wizards, much to her annoyance.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Despite being violent and mean, she's a good person and fights to ensure her guild survives.
* TheLadette: Mostly fits the bill, though she's never seen drinking or making sexual remarks.
* LeotardOfPower: In the manga, her outfit is a skimpy black leotard and she's a competent fighter with a whip.
* NavelDeepNeckline: In the manga, her black leather leotard is cut at the front to reveal her stomach and ample cleavage.
* OfficialCouple: [[spoiler: In ''100 Years Quest'', it's revealed that she and Natsu are now a couple and even have a daughter together.]]
* OffscreenRomance: [[spoiler:When the main characters go back to Edolas in the sequel, it's shown Edo-Lucy married Edo-Natsu and the two had a little daughter in the span of 9 years since the Edolas arc. 283* TheRival: She and Levy don't get along well in her universe.
* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: She tries to show Earth-Natsu her naked body. Fortunately, Earth-Lucy stops her.
* SignatureHeadgear: She ties her side-ponytail with a skull hair band in contrast with Earth-Lucy's hair ribbon.
* SupportingLeader: Since their master was killed, Edo-Lucy is the closest the guild has to a leader.
* TomboyishVoice: She speaks with a raspy voice compared to her Earth-land counterpart as it shows her masculine and rough personality.
* TwoFirstNames: This Lucy's surname is Ashley that is also a common given name.
* WhipOfDominance: Just like her Earth-land counterpart, her weapon is a whip, but she switches up the tamer theme for a {{Dominatrix}} theme, behaving more sexually confident and being DressedLikeADominatrix with thigh-high boots accompanied by her black leather LeotardOfPower with a large erect collar and NavelDeepNeckline.
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: She has 48 different wrestling techniques and holds, most of which she likes to use on Earth- and Edo-Natsu.

Natsu Dragneel's Edolas counterpart. Unlike his Earth-land self, this Natsu shines while riding vehicles, and is Fairy Tail's transportation expert known as "Natsu the Fireball". Once he steps out of a vehicle, however, he turns into a sniveling wimp.
----
* AggressiveSubmissive: {{Inverted|Trope}}. When he's out of a car, Edo-Lucy dominates Edo-Natsu as he's a frequent victim of her wrestling moves and he never fights her back. ''100 Years Quest'' implies he's much...''different'' when they're [[AutoErotica alone in a car]] given how she blushes when she mentions how "extreme" he gets.
* BadassDriver: He's about as badass behind the wheel as when Earth-Natsu ''isn't'' in one.
* CatchPhrase: "Go, fire!"
* CoolSword: His weapon is a magic sword in the manga. In the anime, it's switched to a BattleBoomerang.
* CowardlyLion: He doesn't quite shine to the idea of fighting the kingdom at first, getting Earth-Natsu and co. as far as the capital outskirts, but he eventually sticks up for them to take on the army while shaking in his boots.
* ExtremeDoormat: He seems to be this for Edo-Lucy, who likes to use her [[WrestlerInAllOfUs 48 techniques]] on him. In the anime, the entire guild even gasps in shock when Earth-Natsu so much as talks back to her, never expecting it to be something their Natsu would do.
* GogglesDoNothing: He wears goggles, but doesn't really need them considering he drives around inside a car...
* InconsistentSpelling: Other sources spell Natsu's last name 'Dragion'.

* ShrinkingViolet: He's incredibly shy, wimpy, and totally submissive to Lucy outside of a vehicle.
* SplitPersonalitySwitchTrigger: When he's driving a car, Edo-Natsu is bold, cocky, and rude. Take him out of the car and he becomes a total crybaby wimp.

The Exceed are a race of winged cat-like creatures, and the species Happy and Carla come from. From their floating city of Extalia, they are revered as holy beings due to their ability to contain magic in their bodies, which humans from Edolas cannot do. Unknown to them, they are pawns in Faust's plans to bestow magic on Edolas. Once Faust is defeated and the Exceed are up-rooted to Earth-land, they start a search for their missing children and build a new settlement.

* BackForTheFinale: The Exceeds return to lend their magic power to a continent-wide link used to aid the casting of Fairy Sphere against Acnologia.
* BigDamnHeroes: They help Fairy Tail save the day at the end of the series by lending their magic powers to defeat Acnologia.
* TheBusCameBack: With Extalia gone, the Exceeds leave to establish a new settlement upon coming to Earth-land and aren't seen again for quite some time until the finale. They show up once more in a side novel, where Happy protects their village.
* CatsAreMagic: Exceed are the only creatures in Edolas capable of harboring magic energy as an ability. This helps lend some credibility to them being viewed by humans as a divine race.
* CatsAreMean: Their supposed divinity has gone straight to their heads to the point that they [[FantasticRacism look down on humans]] and [[TheExile cast out anyone who objects to their almighty Queen]]. Case in point, when Wendy and Carla [[CassandraTruth try to warn them of their kingdom's destruction at the hands of the human King Faust]], their first response is to ridicule and stone them. Once the ruse is shattered and they realize that they are {{Unwitting Pawn}}s in Faust's plans, however, their [[HumblePie newfound humility]] gives way to [[TookALevelInKindness an even greater sense of kindness]].
* CatFolk: They may look like cats, but they act, dress, and run a society just like any human would.
* DoomedHometown: Extalia is the center for the Exceeds.
* TheExile: Any Exceed who objects to Queen Chagot's rules are exiled from Extalia.
* EasilyForgiven: A DoubleSubversion occurs at the end of the Edolas arc. Carla doesn't initially forgive them for what they did, but she eventually reconsiders when Chagot explains about her kind's ruse.
* FantasticRacism: The Exceeds don't get along well with humans, but it later turns out to be a ruse by Chagot.
* FantasticSlurs: Any Exceed who is exiled from Extalia for committing treason is called "Fallen". Panther Lily, Happy's parents, as well as Happy and Carla themselves, found this out the hard way.
* {{Flight}}: All Exceed share the common Aera ability, allowing them to grow white, feathery wings to fly.
* ForegoneConclusion: The destruction of Extalia was a given since Queen Chagot correctly predicted it around the time she sent the 100 eggs to Earth-land.
* GodGuise: Enforced by the Queen's court, who devised the ruse that Exceed are angels and their ruler is a god so humans would stop picking on them. They've kept the façade up for so long that most of the younger Exceed population [[AGodAmI have actually bought into the ruse themselves]].
* HumblePie: The vast majority of Exceed have spent their whole lives arrogantly certain of their own superiority to humans and confident in their Queen's divine might that when Chagot herself breaks the news that no Exceed is as powerful as they've been led to believe, and when a giant lacrima is about to collide with their city, [[MassOhCrap they realize just how screwed they are]] thanks to them being Faust's {{Unwitting Pawn}}s. However, they also realize this hardly makes them powerless when they rally behind Fairy Tail to push the lacrima away.
* IrrationalHatred: Thanks to the royal court's lies about Chagot being a god, the Exceed are willing to banish any of their kind for bringing humans to Extalia. Just ask Panther Lily.
* LivingBattery: Because Exceed are the only Edolas natives who are capable of harboring magic, Faust's endgame is to [[AndIMustScream convert them into crystallized lacrima]] to fuel his kingdom.
* MassOhCrap: The Exceeds are utterly stunned when they realize that Faust is about to use the giant lacrima to destroy Extalia and use his endgame on them.
* TookALevelInKindness: Once the Exceeds discover the truth about what Faust is going to do to them, they realize that their divinity and racism towards humans went straight to their heads.
* UnwittingPawn: They never realize that Faust is planning to kill them using the lacrima made from the people of Magnolia until it's too late.
* WalkingTheEarth: After being uprooted from Edolas to Earth-land, they decide to search for the remaining Exceed children who were born there.
* WarRefugees: At the end of the Edolas arc, the destruction of Extalia ultimately leaves the Exceeds as refugees who decide to make a new settlement in Earth-land.
* WeHaveBecomeComplacent: Chagot and the royal court admitted this to the Exceeds and Fairy Tail, saying that they made Chagot a god and banished anyone who objects to the queen's actions to prevent a mass panic among humans and Exceed alike. Their arrogance left them easy prey to Faust's plans.
* YouCantGoHomeAgain: With Extalia's destruction and Mystogan using the last of Edolas's magic to uproot them to Earth-land, the Exceeds can no longer call Edolas their home, not even Happy, Carla, and Panther Lily.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: As part of his efforts to bestow eternal magic power onto Edolas, Faust attempts to kill the Exceeds by using the lacrima made from the people of Magnolia.

----
* BarefootCartoonAnimal: Just like the other Exceed, she doesn't wear any shoes.
* BrokenAngel: Insofar as the Exceed are only superficially divine beings in Edolas, Chagot turns out to be this, having only a single wing.
* DirtyBusiness: Although she acted like an all-powerful god to protect her people, she deeply regretted all the misery she caused to those who were exiled, such as Happy's parents, Panther Lily, and her own daughter.
* GodGuise: She conned everybody into thinking she is a god. Part of the trick was that she could see into the future and predict when people would die, which convinced everyone into thinking she could cause their deaths.
* GodSaveUsFromTheQueen: A {{subverted|Trope}} example occurs towards the end of the Edolas arc. She is a ReasonableAuthorityFigure and quite aware that both Edolas ''and'' Extalia are going crazy.
* GreaterScopeVillain: The protagonists and the humans in Edolas initially believe her to be the main antagonist, but Chagot is an UnwittingPawn to Faust, unaware and uninvolved with his EvilPlan.

* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: She's very sound in judgment and willing to listen to reason from her people.

* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: She goes to help her people and Fairy Tail push away the lacrima Faust tries to collide with Extalia, despite only having one wing and falling when she's only halfway there.
* ToughLeaderFacade: She presents herself as a god who is beloved by her people and feared by the humans of Edolas, all so her race wouldn't continue to be oppressed by them. Once she reveals herself to have no actual power besides her precognition, she discards her entire regal image completely.
* WalkingSpoiler: She is set up as the GreaterScopeVillain of the Edolas arc before her true identity and motives are revealed.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: She lied about the Exceed being godly beings and constantly threatened the human kingdom below with destruction in order to protect the Exceeds.
* YouCantFightFate: Despite sending 100 eggs to Earth-land six years earlier, Extalia gets destroyed just like in her vision but with Mystogan using the Reverse Anima to destroy it.

* NonActionGuy: Despite being a guard captain, he has no combat ability to speak of.
* PunnyName: The "ni" in his name means "two", basically meaning he is a "second Ichiya".
* SecretWeapon: Ichiya intends him to be this for Blue Pegasus in the Grand Magic Games, assuming that they share the same abilities. He is so very wrong in this regard.

Extalia's long-necked Minister of State.
----
* CatsAreMean: He was in charge of the program that sent Happy and Carla to Earth-land to kill Dragon Slayers, and claims to kill other humans on command. However, this is all just a lie to keep humans in check which, considering Faust, is not that bad of an idea. All in all, he's a pretty nice guy.
* CharacterTics: He never stops pumping his right fist into the air. It's so contagious that Natsu and his friends pick it up temporarily.
* DissonantSerenity: He smiles cheerfully while talking about how humans are inferior and how the Exceeds kill them when their population grows too much. Of course, this is just part of the facade.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He poses as an arrogant jerk who looks down on humans just so he can maintain peace among his people.
* LongNeck: He's got a long flat head.
* OnlySaneMan: Given how he's one of the few Exceeds to know the truth about the queen, he's also the first one to realize Wendy and Carla are telling the truth when they say that the humans are rebelling against them.
* SmugSnake: {{Subverted|Trope}}. His smug personality hides a reasonable and compassionate man who wants to maintain peace for his people.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: He was part of the group that perpetuated the lie about the Exceeds' abilities.
