The first major villain of the series, a vain, tyrannical ruler who steals the heroes' spaceship when it crash lands on his planet.
----
* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: Everyone's happy when Goku and co. come along and knock him down a few pegs.
* ArcVillain: For the first half of the Black Star Dragon Ball Saga.

* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:Has enough of one to help Goku make a Spirit Bomb in episode 63.]]
* OlderThanTheyLook: When compared to his subjects at least.
* PunnyName: on "''Akindo''", meaning "merchant".
* RealMenWearPink: Wears pink and purple, and has applied lipstick.
* SissyVillain: He relies entirely on his henchmen to do his dirty work.

A mercenary, and Don Kee's personal bodyguard.
----

* BerserkButton: He doesn't like being ordered around by Don Kee for any reason and gets aggravated whenever the latter does so.
* TheBrute: He seems to be at first...
* TheCameo: He, or a member of his kind, appears as part of Frieza's army in the manga tie-in for ''Resurrection [='F'=]''.
* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: Promised Goku that they would meet again for a rematch, but is never seen again, [[spoiler:not even in episode 63, where almost all the other surviving characters show up]]. It's likely that, had the series not been retooled after the first 16 episodes, he would have played a bigger role.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: [[spoiler:After being defeated by Goku, he gives up the battle and leaves Don Kee to fend for himself.]]
* DragonInChief: [[spoiler:Don Kee relies on him to do his dirty work. When Ledgic turns on him, Don Kee is powerless to stop Goku.]]
* DualWielding: How he uses his swords.
* DubNameChange: From "Rejikku" to "Ledgic" in Creator/FUNimation's version.
* PunnyName: On "credit" (クレジット ''kurejitto'' in Japanese).
* ScrewTheMoneyIHaveRules: After conceding to Goku, Don Kee begs him to stay and even offers all the money he has, only for his ex-bodyguard to kick him aside. He spells out in the Funimation dub that money isn't everything before leaving his king at the mercy of the heroes.
* StarterVillain: While not the main villain of the arc, he is the first one-on-one fight Goku has in ''GT''.
* WorthyOpponent: He views Goku as one. It's quite telling he was aware of what the Saiyans were, even though normal Saiyans are way weaker than him by this point.

A trio of brothers working for Cardinal Mutchy Mutchy. Can subdue their opponents by making them dance.
----
* BackForTheFinale: They appear again during the last fight against Omega Shenron, giving some of their energy to Goku.
* HeelFaceTurn: They start off as villains, but get better and change sides.
* InvoluntaryDance: They have the ability to make their opponent do a really stupid dance against their will by their MagicMusic. The moves become teachable by Pan in ''VideoGame/DragonBallXenoverse'' and its sequels, so you can make Frieza, Cell, or [[IronButtMonkey Vegeta]] do the dance too!
* MagicMusic: They employ embarrassing hypnotic hip-hop music alongside a dance to hypnotize their opponents.
* PunnyName: "Para Para" is a style of synchronized, high-energy dance, which happens to be their method of attack.
* QuirkyMiniBossSquad: Other than their AwesomeButImpractical technique (and "cool" is reaching too hard), they are just three silly siblings similar to the Pilaf Gang.
* TerribleTrio: A trio formed by brothers.

The High Priest of the Luud Cult. He commands Luud's followers to seek out the Black Star Dragon Balls to resurrect Luud.
----
* ActuallyADoombot: [[spoiler:In the dub when his "body" is destroyed, his ''whip'' is revealed to be the actual Mutchy, and transforms into his true form]].
* ArcVillain: He and Dolltaki are the villains of the second half of the Black Star Dragon Ball Saga.
* CompositeCharacter: In the Funimation dub, Mutchy claims Cardinal Mutchy Mutchy was a part of him while the narrator calls Mutchy the "true form" of Cardinal Mutchy Mutchy. In the original Japanese version, Cardinal Mutchy Mutchy and Mutchy are separate entities.
* DecoyLeader: Cardinal Mutchy Mutchy's appeared to lead the cult, before it's revealed that Mutchy is the leader. Then in turn it's revealed the true authority behind the cult is Dolltaki.
* DroppedABridgeOnHim: Despite being an arc villain, Mutchy Mutchy is unceremoniously killed by a single ki attack from Trunks when the former has Goku on the ropes.
* ForcedTransformation: His whip can transform people into dolls to be fed to Luud.
* SinisterMinister: The leader of the Luud Cult who deceives various aliens under Dr. Myuu's orders to gather power for Baby's development.
* TheDogWasTheMastermind: When Cardinal Mutchy Mutchy dies, It is revealed that Mutchy, a mutant machine disguised as the whip he used, is the true leader of the cult.

The "oracle" of the Luud Cult. Was the one who originally recruited the followers.
----
* ArcVillain: Of the second half of the Black Star Dragon Ball Saga along with Mutchy.
* {{Cult}}: The leader of the Luud Cult.
* DirtyCoward: He fleas back to Planet M-2 the instant he is freed from Luud.
* ManiacMonkeys: He has facial features not too dissimilar to a primate and is very maniacal in his sacrificing pawns to Luud.
* MeaningfulName: He is a fan of dolls. A doll otaku, if you like.
* PunnyName: A play on "doll {{otaku}}".
* SissyVillain: He ''plays with dolls''. It's implied that he's heterosexual since he falls in love with Pan [[spoiler:in doll form]].
* ToyTransmutation: He uses the scam cult of Luud to transform other beings who fail to find the Black Star Dragon Balls into dolls to use their life force as sacrifices to empower the fake God of Destruction, Luud; as a long gambit to help Dr. Myuu's creation, Baby be completed. He also does this to Pan, though ends up too infatuated to sacrifice her. [[spoiler:[[KarmicTransformation He suffers this fate himself courtesy of Dr. Myuu when he activates Luud too early]], as punishment, and ends up dying not too long after he is forced to help defeat Luud and free everyone from their states.]]
* VillainousCrush: Has one quite spooky on Pan.
* YouHaveFailedMe:
** [[spoiler:Dr. Myuu transforms him into one of the sacrificial dolls after he activates Luud (another Machine Mutant) too early.]]
** [[spoiler:Also after transforming back to normal, he tries to make an escape, only for General Rilldo to kill him.]]
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: Unable to wait any longer to find the Black Star Dragon Balls, he instead transforms all of his followers into dolls to be fed to Luud.

->'''Voiced by (Japanese):''' Creator/TetsuInada\
'''Voiced by (English):''' Ethan Norris (Funimation dub)

A powerful Machine Mutant who is revered as a "God of Destruction" by his own cult.
----
* AttackItsWeakPoint: Two of them which need to be simultaneously hit to bring him down.
* AttackOfThe50FootWhatever: Is a giant mechanical monster, of the size of a normal building. He tried crushing Goku and Trunks with his feet.
* TheBrute: While he is the target of worship in his cult, Luud himself does not possess sentience and is just an instrument of destruction for Dolltaki and his boss Dr. Myuu.
* CanonImmigrant: His physical appearance is later integrated into ''Anime/DragonBallSuper'' for the design of Universe 3's God of Destruction, Mosco.
* DeityOfHumanOrigin: Has artificial roots, yet he is revered as a God.
* EnergyAbsorption: He absorbs the life force of people turned into dolls. It is later revealed this energy is used to revive Baby.
* GenericDoomsdayVillain: Luud does not appear to have sentience and is just a mindless machine of destruction.
* GodGuise: He has a cult that worships him as a god, but he is in actual fact a Machine Mutant created by Dr. Myuu to absorb energy of gullible pilgrims who come to worship.
* GodzillaThreshold: With the heroes defeating Cardinal Mutchy, Dolltaki is forced to activate Luud prematurely.
* TheJuggernaut: The first genuine threat in GT, with Goku and Trunks forced to go Super Saiyan against him and are only able to defeat via AttackItsWeakPoint.
* MechanicalLifeforms: Much like Rilldo, Luud is classed as a Machine Mutant, giving him a hybrid nature that is both biological and mechanical.

A Machine Mutant and leader of Dr. Myuu's machine armies. Manages to give Goku, Pan, and Trunks trouble once they land on planet M-2.
----
* TheAce: The most powerful Machine Mutant of all. Goku notes that his power is higher than that of even Majin Buu.
* BadLiar: To Goku, who can tell he's pretending to be far weaker than he really is, but not to the audience.
* BenevolentBoss: He actually treats his subordinates and underlings fairly-well, and doesn't hesitate to give them praise when he thinks they deserve it. Dude must have read up on [[Literature/TheArtOfWarSunTzu Sun Tzu]].
* BlobMonster: In his Meta-Rilldo form, he is pretty much the [[Film/Terminator2JudgmentDay T-1000 liquid metal Terminator]], with his body able to morph and reconstitute itself at will.
* ChromeChampion: He looks like this in his final form.
* TheDragon: To Dr. Myuu, being the head of M-2 planet's militia and the highest authority save for Myuu himself.
* DroppedABridgeOnHim: His character is shown to be able to use the metal covering the entire surface of Planet M-2 to reconstruct a new body after his current one has been destroyed, yet he dies after a blast from Goku, Pan, and Trunks, even though there's still metal all over the planet, he's just dead.
* DubNameChange: Is inexplicably renamed General Lock in the Blue Water dub.
* ExtraOreDinary: He controls metal.
* FantasticRacism: Declares Machine Mutants as being superior to all other lifeforms.
* FourStarBadass: Goku points out that, even in his base form, Rilldo is even stronger than Majin Buu.
* FromASingleCell: His consciousness can inhabit and form a body from any metal on the ''planet''.
* FrontlineGeneral: He has the rank of General and is the commanding officer of the Machine Mutant armies, but he is no slouch in combat, being the most powerful warrior and fights Goku personally.
* FullFrontalAssault: As Meta-Rilldo, he no longer has metallic parts resembling clothes. Then again he could have been a TechnicallyNakedShapeShifter the whole time, considering he can literally form his body from the planet.
* FusionDance: He can assimilate the parts from the destroyed Sigma Force to upgrade himself into his ultimate form.
* GeniusLoci: As Rildo explains, he can manipulate the entirety of Planet M-2 as an extension of his body. The ''entire'' planet is his body, or rather he ''is'' the planet.
* KnightOfCerebus: His arrival is pretty much the point where the series became more serious.
* MechanicalLifeforms: He was once a mortal lifeform, but was converted into a Machine Mutant, making him similar to a cyborg. It should be noted that unlike Androids, Machine Mutants still possess ki, meaning they have a life force.
* PreMortemOneLiner: In his introductory scene in the Funimation dub.
-->"Drop dead."
* ProperlyParanoid: He does not underestimate Goku, immediately sensing the power the boy possesses and is willing to take precautions before his men go to face him.
* PunnyName: On "drill".
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: He is a rough approximation of traits from several secondary villains appearing in each of the main arcs of Z.
** Of Captain Ginyu. Being a MookLieutenant working for the BigBad who leads a squadron to which he is a BenevolentBoss towards, as well as him and Goku treating each other as {{Worthy Opponent}}s.
** His Meta-Rilldo form also has heavy resemblance to and invokes Meta-Cooler.
** Of Dr. Gero's Androids, in the sense that he's a techno-organic hybrid lifeform created (or rather converted) by a MadScientist who is an {{expy}} of Dr. Gero. He is even capable of a RocketPunch in the same vein as Android 16. In addition, he can fuse with the components of other Machine Mutants to upgrade himself into a more powerful form, in a similar way to Cell or Android 13.
** Some of his more bizarre powers also invoke Dabura and Buu. Pieces of his body are able to detach and be controlled remotely like Buu, while he also has a beam that turns whatever it hits into metal, just like Buu had a beam that turned people into candy and Dabura had a spit that turned anything that it touched into stone. Much like Dabura, he is TheDragon of his non-combat capable boss who he has UndyingLoyalty towards.
* TakenForGranite: Can fire a beam that turns whatever it hits into metal.
* UnderwearOfPower: In his base form and as Hyper Meta-Rilldo.
* WorfEffect: He easily beats Gohan when he's revived, and then is promptly destroyed by Majuub with a single blast.
* WorthyOpponent: Implied to think of Goku as one. Unlike other Machine Mutants, Rilldo does not treat Goku lightly and gives him respect as a powerful opponent, while he and Goku genuinely enjoy battling.

[[folder:Sigma Force]]
!!'''Sigma Force''' / '''Mega Cannon Sigma'''
->'''Voiced by (Japanese):''' Hiroyuki Sato (Neji, Super Sigma), Creator/TetsuInada (Veis), Ichiro Nagata (Ribet), Shinichi Yamada (Nutt)\
'''Voiced by (English):''' Cindy Beal (Nezi and Sigma Force Cannon), Creator/KyleHebert (Bizu and Natt), Creator/ChrisCason (Ribet) (Creator/FUNimation dub); Roger Rhodes (Nezi and Sigma Force Cannon), Ethan Cole (Bizu), Dean Galloway (Ribet), Kevin Tokarsky (Natt) (Blue Water dub)

A squadron of elite Machine Mutant commandos, that work under General Rilldo. They are as follows: Commander Nezi, Bizu, Ribet, and Natt.
----
* AwesomeByAnalysis: They have Goku's battle data downloaded from Giru, enabling them to predict all of Goku's attacks.
* ColorCodedForYourConvenience: Unlike the generic Machine Mutants of M-2 who are almost all identical looking, the Sigma Force are all brightly colored and easy to tell apart.
* CombiningMecha: Their variant of the FusionDance, where they combine into a single mechanical being.
* EliteMooks: They are said to be the strongest Machine Mutants on Planet M-2 save for General Rilldo himself, and are disaptched specifically to deal with Goku.
* TheDividual: They are pretty much treated as the same character, with identical personalities. They are even able to combine into a single unit.
* MechanicalLifeforms: As Machine Mutants they are mostly mechanical in nature, but also possess a detectable ki life-force.
* OhCrap: They lose it when they realize Goku has been holding back the entire time to test them, and has only been using a fraction of his power.
* QuirkyMiniBossSquad: The first one since the Ginyu Force, with this variant being made up of Machine Mutants capable of turning into a CombiningMecha.
* SmugSuper: They love gloating to Goku when they think they have the advantage, shortly before he turns the tides around and they start to panic.
* WarmUpBoss: They are Goku's first proper challenge on Planet M-2. But as they later find out he's been holding back in order to gauge their abilitiy.

[[folder:Dr. Myuu]]
!!'''Dr. Myuu''' (ドクター・ミュー, ''Dokutā Myū'')
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dr_myu_artwork.png]]
->'''Voiced by (Japanese):''' Creator/KazuyukiSogabe (''GT''), Creator/YasunoriMasutani (''Dragon Ball Heroes'')\
'''Voiced by (English):''' Duncan Brannan (Creator/FUNimation dub); Dave Pettitt (Blue Water dub)\
'''Voiced by (Latin American Spanish):''' José Luis Castañeda (Baby Saga), Ricardo Hill (Super 17 Saga)

A scientist plotting universal domination with his Machine Mutant armies, headed by his ultimate creation Baby which he needs the Black Star Dragon Balls to complete. This of course brings him into conflict with Goku, Pan and Trunks. Sometime down the road, he meets up with Dr. Gero in Hell (it's a long story) to plot their revenge against Goku but that doesn't work out as planned either.
----
* AdviceBackfire: [[spoiler:He tells Super 17 to show Goku and 18 that he can't be controlled. Super 17 agrees by promptly destroying Myuu.]]
* AmbiguousSituation: The reveal that he was a Machine Mutant programmed to finish Baby raises the question, whether he was once an organic being converted into a Machine Mutant, or was an artificially constructed being from the start.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: [[spoiler:His last words to Super 17; Myuu tells him to show Goku and 18 that he can't be controlled. Super 17 agrees, and promptly annihilates Myuu.]]
* BigBad: Of the "Black Star Dragon Ball" Saga and the early portion of the "Baby Saga". He's responsible for a lot of the events that happen in the series as he created most of the Machine Mutants, [[spoiler:was the one behind the Luud Cult]], and, alongside Dr. Gero, created Hell Fighter 17 and caused a rift between Earth and Hell, releasing all of Hell's inhabitants.
* BigBadDuumvirate: With Dr. Gero in the Super 17 Saga.
* CoolShades: He wears shades that fit his eyes to the point that one could confuse them for some kind of advanced artificial eyes, if for the fact that one side breaks at one point and it reveals a normal eye underneath.
* DirtyCoward: When things go south he immediately tries to flee.
* DiscOneFinalBoss: Twice. [[spoiler:He was the one behind the Machine Mutants and the Luud Cult, thus making him responsible for most of the foes the heroes found in the Black Star Dragon Balls Saga, only to be revealed that Baby was his creator rather than his creation and promptly replace him as soon as he develops enough. Then he teams up with Dr. Gero for the Super 17 Saga, and Myuu even betrays him by having 17 kill him (for old time's sake) only for 17 to reveal that he has no patience for him either, kill him, and be the Big Bad solo.]]
* EmperorScientist: A MadScientist and the creator of most of the Machine Mutants as well as the ruler of Planet M-2.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]]. He seems genuinely saddened when Baby gets destroyed, however he quickly gets over his apparent grief and plots to regenerate Baby. Later, he has also completely lost interest in Baby after the completion of Super 17, an even more superior Machine Mutant. All this indicates, Myuu was saddened at his life's work on creating the ultimate Machine Mutant being ruined, rather than any genuine care for Baby.
* EvilutionaryBiologist: He creates the Machine Mutant race which he replaced the non-mechanical lifeforms with as the superior species. While most of the Planet M-2 natives were slaughtered by his Machine Mutants, in some instances he converts non-mechanical lifeforms into Machine Mutants, like Rilldo.
* EvilRedhead: A red-haired MadScientist.
* EvilerThanThou: Pulls one on Dr. Gero, where he betrays Gero for being too limited in ambition. Gero only desired for conquest of the Earth, while Myuu had the much more large scale plan of subjugating the entire galaxy.
* TheHeavy: Though he ultimately turned out to be a mere creation of Baby, Dr. Myuu is still largely responsible for the plot of ''GT'', as his experiments and actions directly lead to many of the arcs of the series or even indirectly and is the most recurring villain even after Baby's death.
* MadScientist: A scientist who plots universal domination and performs experimentation on sentient lifeforms.
* MechanicalLifeforms: [[spoiler:It is revealed that he was actually another Machine Mutant created by Baby at some point to continue his development, rather than Baby being a creation of his. It is left ambiguous if he was born a Machine Mutant or if was a non-mechanical lifeform that was converted into a Machine Mutant.]]
* MisplacedRetribution: In ''GT'', he teams up with Dr. Gero to get revenge on Goku for his death, dismissing the fact that both he and Gero were killed by their own creations.
* MorallyAmbiguousDoctorate: He is referred to as "Doctor", but whether or not he has a degree (or if universities and degrees even exist for his species) is unknown. Regardless it is clear he uses his scientific prowess for evil purposes.
* NonActionBigBad: He is not a fighter and is completely helpless when confronted by the heroes in person, relying completely on his Rilldo and his Machine Mutant minions to do the fighting for him.
* NotBrainwashed: It was initially vague on how much of his actions were due to the result of Baby's programming. However Myuu still retains his same genocidal MadScientist personality after Baby's influence has ended. Coupled with the fact that two other Machine Mutants stated to have been programmed, end up defying their programming and betraying their creators, indicates that Myuu almost certainly has freewill.
* OmnicidalManiac: Planet M-2 was once inhabited by humanoid aliens, that Myuu was once a member of. By the time of the present they have all been slaughtered and replaced with Machine Mutants that Myuu created as the superior species.
* ReturningBigBad: He was the main antagonist of the Black Star Dragon Ball Saga and the early part of the Baby Saga. After his defeat and demise, the returns in the Super 17 Saga as part of a BigBadDuumvirate with Dr. Gero.
* TheSocialDarwinist: He believes only stronger species deserve to live, so created the Machine Mutants to be that superior species that he used to wipe out the natives on his planet. He also has plans to do that for the entire galaxy.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: Of Dr. Gero, with some elements of Dr. Raichi. His first Latin American voice actor also dubbed Dr. Gero, until the Super 17 saga, where Dr. Myuu and Dr. Gero meet, where it was changed to avoid confusion.
* SympathyForTheDevil: Initially, Pan almost feels bad for him after seeing him breakdown into tears over Baby being destroyed.
* TurnedAgainstTheirMasters: Technically twice.
** Inverted with Baby, who was originally believed to be his creation and ends up killing Myuu. However bizarrely it's revealed that Baby actually created Myuu to complete him, making it a YouHaveFailedMe.
** Played straight with Super 17, who ends up betraying and killing Myuu after getting sick of being ordered around.
* VillainRespect: He gives this to Gero, admitting that while he was a fool to think they were equal partners, Super 17's improvements were undeniably due to his assistance.
* VillainTeamUp:
** With Dr. Gero on the Super 17 Saga. [[spoiler:Myuu betrays him.]]
** With Dr. Gero and Dr. Raichi in ''Videogame/DragonBallHeroes''.
* VoodooShark: [[spoiler:When Baby kills him, he is told that Baby himself created him and the other Machine Mutants in order to create him. The writers seem to try and explain away this logic by giving Baby the backstory that he was originally a bio-robot fetus that was launched into space by the Tuffles so that it might one day destroy the Saiyans. If anything this further adds to the argument of those who question how Baby could have made the Machine Mutants while still a fetus. One explanation given is that Myuu was actually created by the Tuffles to complete Baby, and since the collective memories of all the Tuffles were infused into the bio-robot fetus, Baby was speaking as the Tuffles he was created from when he made this claim.]]

A parasitic being created by Dr. Myuu to conquer the universe (or so it seems). The truth is he's actually a homunculus created by the Tuffle race shortly before they were conquered by the Saiyans, with Dr. Myuu actually being ''his'' creation to ensure he'd be modified into something more powerful.\
After being activated, Son Goku seemingly kills Baby, but he manages to respawn from within Dr. Myuu and body surfs his way to Earth. Once there he takes over the whole planet, making Vegeta his main host with Bulma and the Saiyan hybrids as his personal entourage. Goku suffers a grueling battle against Baby due to his new child form, but some quick training in the Other World gives him the power he needs to fight and eventually beat Baby, freeing Vegeta from Baby and blasting him into the sun as he was trying to escape.
----
* AccidentalMisnaming: Japanese only, but apparently "Baby" is not his real name and it is not even clear that he ''has'' a real name; it is just what Dr. Myuu called him [[spoiler:after Myuu forgot that Baby created ''him'' and not the other way around]], but since neither the audience nor the characters have any other name for him that's the one that sticks, and ultimately it's the one he himself uses.
* AccuserOfTheBrethren: When told that the Saiyans who ''actually'' wiped out the Tuffles are long-dead and his grudge is pointless, Baby flat-out says he doesn't care; he considers ''all'' Saiyans guilty, and wants them to be wiped out, no matter what.
* AchillesHeel: While becoming the [[OneWingedAngel Golden Great Ape]] allows Baby to close the power gap between himself and Super Saiyan 4 Goku, he still has the exact same weakness as a regular Great Ape, that being slicing off his now-giant tail ''will'' end the transformation. Granted, it's not until Goku manages to knock him down on his face and leave him wide open that he actually gets a chance to do so, but once he does, any hope Baby has of salvaging the situation is over.
* AdvertisedExtra: Baby's adult form gets featured in the second intro, but only appears in the anime proper for about a minute before he's obliterated.
* AlternateCompanyEquivalent: As a cybernetic alien that antagonizes a heroic alien, he could easily be seen as the Brainiac to Goku's Superman.
* AndIMustScream: Vegeta confirms that he was able to recall his time as Baby's host, as does Bulma remember her time when she was infected, meaning both fell under this trope when he was possessing them.
* AppropriatedAppellation: Despite the AccidentalMisnaming by Dr. Myuu, Baby actually claims the name pretty quickly as his own, meaning the reveal that this wasn't actually his name didn't make much sense.
* ArchEnemy: Sees himself as one for the Saiyan race as a whole, the Saiyans being the ones who destroyed ''his'' race and Baby being created specifically to destroy the Saiyans in retaliation.
* AssholeVictim: In true Dragon Ball BigBad fashion, Baby was a truly contemptible monster that everyone's happy to be rid of.
* AwesomeButImpractical: In true parasite fashion, Baby leeches off those he infects, gradually getting stronger as he does so, but as it's revealed when he's forcefully ejected from Vegeta, Baby's form is probably stronger than a Super Saiyan 3 due to the power he absorbed, but at the same time is now so much bigger than before that he literally ''can't'' fit in Vegeta's body any more unless he's a Great Ape.
* AxCrazy: Baby was never all that sane to begin with -- being an obsessive, power-hungry, genocidal parasite out for revenge against a dead race -- but he goes well and truly off the deep end as he grows more and more powerful. When he becomes a Golden Great Ape he ''fakes'' going on a rampage to test his abilities but fights so recklessly afterward that he threatens to destroy both the Earth ''and'' the newly restored Tuffle homeworld just to kill Goku, suggesting that he isn't "faking" as much as he thinks he is.
* BadBoss: He attacks and nearly kills the possessed Trunks, Gohan, and Goten when he decides [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness he doesn't need them anymore]], and when he becomes a Great Ape, he fakes going on a rampage and kills several of his followers simply to test out his new power.
* TheBadGuyWins: In a sense, Baby manages to get everything he wanted. He [[TakeOverTheWorld takes over the world]], gets revenge on the near-extinct Saiyans by possessing Vegeta, the Saiyan Prince, and recreates the Tuffle homeworld by wishing on the Dragon Balls, even getting Goku to deliver them to him. It's only after he achieves his ambitions that things start falling apart for him, the success and power getting to his head, overriding his sense and leading him to become an AxCrazy lunatic who can be outsmarted and ultimately defeated.
* BashBrothers: Baby Gohan and Baby Goten, when they team up on Vegeta, and later on Goku.
* BatmanGambit: His earlier possession of Trunks made him realize that the Super Saiyan transformation was the easiest point to take over someone (it was later revealed that he laid a mind-control egg in Trunks' brain as he left anyway). He then proceeded to possess the remaining Saiyans on Earth, settling at Vegeta; the next strongest after Goku, then brainwashing the entire Earth. He also left Goku and co. to find all the Black Star Dragon Balls so they'll return eventually to Earth when he can take them to make his wish, while Goku and Pan face off against ''the entire world apart from Buu, Uub and Hercule!''
* BecameTheirOwnAntithesis: As a Tuffle-based artificial life form, Baby sees himself as superior to the Saiyan race, who at the time of their great war was little more than a tribe of cave-dwelling savages. Once Baby possesses the Earthlings and acquires the powers of the few remaining Saiyans, he proves to be just as bloodthirsty as the Saiyans that wiped out the Tuffles. Just to emphasize it, he decides to take Vegeta, one of the last two pure-blooded Saiyans left, as his full-time host, and by the end he turns himself into the very same sort of raging Great Ape that destroyed the Tuffles who would happily destroy his world just for the power to kill Goku.
* BerserkButton: Saiyans. When he was still in embryo form and Trunks sabotaged his incubation tank, Dr. Myuu uttering the word "Saiyan" immediately woke Baby up.
* BeyondRedemption: Notably, Baby is the only villain Goku has ever flat out killed after he'd been defeated and was fleeing.
* BigBad: Of the Baby Saga, and the first major BigBad of the series as a whole.
* BlobMonster: Baby is able to liquefy himself and [[BodySurf seep into any cut on a person's body in order to gain control of them]].
* BodyHorror:
** After getting blasted to bits, part of Baby slithered into Dr. Myuu as he escaped, regenerated inside him, and then burst out ''Alien''-style.
** He ends up changing around Vegeta's body and distorting it so much that it barely resembles his host.
* BodySurf: He jumps around from body to body before settling on Vegeta as a permanent host. His old hosts remain under his control anyway.
* BreakoutVillain: He's GT's first proper BigBad that fights the heroes, and has made appearances in multiple adaptations in the form of many video games, including [[VideoGame/DragonBallFighterZ Fighterz]], which has no other GT characters beyond himself, GT Goku, and GT Gogeta.
* ClippedWingAngel: Vegeta states in the Shadow Dragons Saga that Baby, despite obtaining the Golden Great Ape transformation, could never obtain Super Saiyan 4 due to his own cells interfering with the transformation process, making Golden Great Ape the furthest he can go.
* CombatPragmatist: All Baby ever needs is just ''one scratch'' and the fight is over, as such, he tries to do every dirty trick in the book just to make an opening he needs.
* CombinedEnergyAttack: His Revenge Death Ball, like an evil version of the Spirit Bomb. It's powered by all of the hatred of his followers, and he even takes a stance similar to the former TropeNamer when charging it in the anime and ''Infinite World''. He has an even stronger version of it called the Revenge Death Ball Final, which he uses in his Golden Great Ape form.
* ContrastingSequelAntagonist: Majin Buu was a being of magical origin who caused senseless destruction and tried to assimilate other beings into himself. Baby was produced by science, he operates out of vengeance and pride and he possesses other beings.
* CoolChair: At one point Baby creates an improvised "throne room" atop a series of floating rock pillars over the spot where he believes he has defeated Goku. It is here that the possessed Dende presents Baby with the Black Star Dragon Balls in an ornate goblet. He also somehow constructed an actual throne and coat of arms as well. This throne is never seen or mentioned again after this scene.
* CycleOfRevenge: He decides to take revenge on the Saiyans for driving the Tuffles extinct and conquering their planet by... conquering the Earth, the adoptive home of the few Saiyans still living (as they were already driven to near-extinction long before he came around), meaning that the ones to be hit with the collateral damage were the Earthlings, who had absolutely ''nothing'' to do with the Saiyan-Tuffle conflict. And he was very well aware of how much he was playing this trope, but he didn't care at all.
* DirtyCoward: After Goku knocks him out of Golden Oozaru mode, he leaves Vegeta's body and attempts to flee in a spaceship, only for Goku to blast the ship into the sun.
* DiscOneFinalBoss: Originally intended to be the main antagonist and final adversary for ''Dragon Ball GT''. However, the series was pushed to continue after the Baby Saga ended in order to keep the series running during the release of ''Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout''.
* EmbarrassingNickname: Japanese only, but apparently "Baby" is not his real name and it is not even clear that he ''has'' a real name; it is just what Dr. Myuu called him [[spoiler:after Myuu forgot that Baby created ''him'' and not the other way around]]. In the Japanese original, Baby actually tells Myuu (after killing him) that he ''hates'' Myuu calling him that.
* TheEmperor: After taking control of every person on planet Earth, he uses the Dragon Balls to recreate planet Tuffle and then establishes his own empire on it.
* EmperorScientist: Remember Dr. Myuu? The incredibly smart scientist who rivaled Dr. Gero in terms of pure genius and scientific technology? [[spoiler:''Baby'', or at least the Tuffle DNA Baby is made of, was the one who created ''him''.]]
* EvilCostumeSwitch: Baby gradually changes Vegeta's wardrobe and appearance while possessing him, eventually barely resembling the Saiyan prince.
* EvilCounterpart: [[EnforcedTrope Played with.]] Unlike other antagonists in the series that tend to outright copy the attack of the heroes or have some original attacks with no symbolism, Baby's attacks make him an evil foil to Goku.
** His Revenge Death Ball is an evil foil to the Spirit Bomb. Like Goku, Baby uses the energy of many to charge a giant sphere of energy. Unlike Goku that uses [[MadeOfGood the energy of all living things]], however, Baby outright [[MadeOfEvil uses the hatred]] of his subjects to power his attack, even forcing them to contribute against their will.
** The moment Goku turns Super Saiyan 4, Baby imitates him by turning into a Golden Great Ape. Vegeta states in the ''Shadow Dragons Saga'' that [[ClippedWingAngel because Baby couldn't fully use the Saiyans cells due to his own cells interfering in the process]], he could never achieve the fourth transformation.
* EvilHasABadSenseOfHumor: In ''Budokai Tenka'Ichi 3'' if you start with Baby in his Golden Oozaru form, he'll announce himself by saying ''"I think it's time for this monkey to be spanking you!''"''.
* EvilSoundsRaspy:
** In the Japanese version, Yusuke Numata started to use a raspy voice for him once Baby became Super Baby 1, which became raspier when he became Super Baby 2, which stayed that way when he became the Golden Oozaru and after he left Vegeta's body. This raspy voice would become the standard for Baby's voice in various video games, since Super Baby 2 and the Golden Oozaru are Baby's most recurring forms.
** Mike [=McFarland=] gave Baby a raspy voice from the start.
* {{Expy}}:
** His first design is identical to [[Characters/DragonBallMajinBuu Kid Buu]], [[DivergentCharacterEvolution before gaining a more unique form]]. Likewise, his idea of controlling the world thanks to mind control is taken from [[Characters/DragonBallZMovieVillains Garlic Jr]]. He is also a machine created by the Tuffles to have revenge on the Saiyans, the same as [[Characters/DragonBallZMovieVillains Hatchiyack]].
** However, the main villain he resembles overall is arguably [[Characters/DragonBallCell Cell]], his relationship to Dr. Myuu being [[spoiler:at first glance]] identical to that of Cell with Gero, and both Baby and Cell being artificial lifeforms who can survive FromASingleCell and are {{Power Parasite}}s (albeit of different sorts) who acquire the powers of other powerful warriors, up to and including Saiyans and notably including Vegeta, both start off dangerous but weak and spend a good portion of their arc stealing the powers of others to grow stronger, and both even have their original plans thwarted by an unknowing Trunks only to end up using Trunks to further their goals through a bit of XanatosSpeedChess (Cell stealing his time machine and Baby [[PeoplePuppets brainwashing Trunks and using him to conquer Earth]], respectively).
* {{Foil}}: Fittingly, Baby is a foil to both Goku and Vegeta.
** Goku is a friendly, upbeat, FriendToAllLivingThings IdiotHero who uses both the PowerOfFriendship and the PowerOfTrust to defeat his enemies, and refuses to let his past actions or the past actions of others define him and is eager to [[EasilyForgiven forgive]] others. Baby on the other hand is a hateful, condescending, vicious PsychopathicManchild who uses ThePowerOfHate to try and kill saiyans, and is so consumed by {{Revenge}} that past actions define much of who he is and is incapable of letting go.
** While they are both arrogant [[GeniusBruiser Genius Bruisers]] that veer towards PsychopathicManchild that vocally state the superiority of their species and develop a grudge against Goku, Baby is a GigglingVillain who uses others to increase his own power, is actually quite cowardly, and will abandon everything to escape with his life as soon as things go wrong. Vegeta on the other hand, is a DeadpanSnarker who constantly trains to try and break his own limits, is ''ridiculously'' determined, and would sooner FaceDeathWithDignity than run, or at least, keeps it as his absolutely LAST possible option and he cannot physically fight anymore.
* FromASingleCell: In the grand tradition of Cell and Majin Buu, he can regenerate from just any smidge that remains of him, which in his case becomes more dangerous because of his ability to control people. Goku eventually decides upon Kamehameha-ing him ''into the sun'' to be sure he is completely destroyed.
* GeniusBruiser: Baby has been shown to be ''very'' smart, having manipulated just about everyone in one way or the other. Though he doesn't often display this in combat, his control over everyone and his empire are testaments to his intellect.
* GigglingVillain: He laughs quite a bit at first; however, he almost drops it completely after he takes over Vegeta.
* GoldenSuperMode: In order to defeat Super Saiyan 4 Goku, he resorts to turning into the Golden Great Ape himself for the power boost.
* GrandTheftMe: Pretty much his entire MO. He can liquify his entire body to enter and take over someone without difficulty as long as they have a bloodstream for him to enter, they are then his host until he decides to trade out for a stronger host, but leaves behind eggs to keep those previous hosts under his control. He can do this to ''billions'' of people via spreading an airborne version of himself, infecting them without needing to go from person to person.
* GreaterScopeVillain: [[spoiler:Created Dr. Myuu, making him indirectly responsible for the Black Star Dragon Ball and Super 17 arcs. The damage Super 17 does directly leads to the Shadow Dragons being born after one wish too many goes off, making him indirectly responsible for that as well.]]
* HateSink: Conniving, cowardly, smug, and cruel, the only redeemable thing about Baby is his attempts to avenge his home -- and even that falls flat when he slaughters his own subjects to test his strength. This makes it easier to swallow when [[GoodIsNotSoft Goku kills him as he runs for his life]].
* HealingFactor: Much like Majin Buu, he's a liquid blob mass, so he can regenerate from any damage. It took Goku firing a Kamehameha ''[[HurlItIntoTheSun into the freakin' sun]]'' to completely destroy him.
* HeroKiller: He is responsible for [[TheyKilledKennyAgain Giru's first death]], the destruction of Good Buu's original form, and indirectly responsible for Piccolo's sacrifice.
* HijackingCthulhu: In the arcade game ''Dragon Ball Heroes'', Baby becomes Baby Janemba after infecting [[MadeOfEvil Super Janemba]].
* HurlItIntoTheSun: His ultimate fate. Say hi to Cooler and Broly up there!
* HumanoidAbomination: A light blue humanoid with visor-like eyes, who is capable of possessing people (as Vegeta can tell you) and afterward leaving behind eggs that turn them into his servants. He can also gradually transform the person he's controlling (again, ask Vegeta), and he can liquidize himself. Yeah, he qualifies.
* {{Hypocrite}}: He's a living DNA archive of the Tuffles, a race destroyed by the Saiyans. Baby, being the last of his kind, attacks Earth, where the remaining Saiyans are for {{Revenge}}. He establishes himself as king, recreates the Tuffle homeworld, and has just about everyone under his control. He goes on and on about how barbaric, bloodthirsty, and cruel the Saiyans are. However, he seems to neither notice nor cares that his actions make him no different from the Saiyans, if not worse.
* {{Irony}}:
** By the end of his arc, he's become a giant, rampaging, invasive, and destructive Oozaru like the kind that wiped out the Tuffles to begin with, though he seems blissfully unaware of this.
** Baby spent a good amount of time getting into people's bloodstreams and corrupting them from the inside out. Uub later manages to get inside Baby and attack him from the inside, which is exactly what Uub lampshades.
** He claims to be spreading his eggs in order to replenish the Tuffles and build a new empire, but he only sees them as extensions of his own will at best and doesn't blink at the idea of killing a few thousand off if they annoy him i.e. show concern for his wellbeing.
** His main argument concerning Goku is that because Goku is a Saiyan, he is by definition a monstrous, murderous imperialist with no capacity for anything except rage and killing. However, the climax of the arc that causes Baby's final defeat ends up being the Super Saiyan 4 transformation, which Goku reaches through compassion, attaining the form thanks to the love of his family and his adopted homeworld being enough to break him out of his Golden Oozaru form. Conversely, Baby really ''does'' tend to attain his forms through a mixture of exploiting others and ThePowerOfHate.
* ItCanThink: When Super Baby 2 turns into the Golden Oozaru, he appears to go berserk just like Goku earlier. It turns out he is just playing around and he's actually in perfect control, since Baby is a parasitic lifeform and therefore unaffected by the Saiyan's transformation.
* {{Jerkass}}: To say Baby is unpleasant is putting it kindly, he's a BadBoss who disposes of or corrupts anyone he comes across, he's selfish, stubborn, and cruel.
* KneelBeforeZod: Once he's residing in Vegeta, he takes the attitude, telling both Goku and Majuub to kneel before him and his power. Of course, neither comply.
* KnightOfCerebus: With the possible exception of Dr. Myuu [[spoiler:who is just his pawn anyway]], he is the first truly dangerous villain of the ''GT'' saga, the rest being mostly one-shot [[VillainOfTheWeek villains of the week]], and generally either powerful but [[NobleDemon noble]], or evil but stupid or weak. Baby however is neither noble, nor stupid, and instead is an extremely evil and very, very dangerous menace who could potentially threaten the entire universe, and while initially not very strong manages to use GrandTheftMe and other tricks to become one of the most powerful villains in the entire franchise, wiping the floor with several prominent characters in the process.
* LaserGuidedKarma: An almost literal example when Goku vaporizes him with a carefully aimed Kamehameha as Baby passes by the Sun.
* MagicGenetics: His genetic augmentation is this in a nutshell.
* MakeMyMonsterGrow: When he transformed into a Giant Ape, telling the possessed Bulma to expose him to Blutz Waves to force the transformation.
* TheManInFrontOfTheMan: Baby is initially presented as Myuu's greatest creation and his "baby", only for it to be revealed that Myuu and the Machine Mutants are of Baby's design and he was just using them all as tools.
* ManipulativeBastard: ''And how.'' He manipulated '''every character in the show''', with Goku being the exception.
* MeaningfulName: Aside from the in-universe explanation for his name, and the tradition of ''Dragon Ball'' pun names (him possessing someone makes them "Baby ______"), his name describes his character quite well; he's [[PsychopathicManchild horribly immature]].
* MindManipulation: Any person he entered the body of, he gained total control of their mind and would make them essentially his puppet. He could also spread himself like an airborne virus which results in servants that can retain some degree of personality, corrupting them. And he was ''damn good'' at it.
* MirrorCharacter: He's just as barbaric and bloodthirsty as the Saiyans he claims to despise. On top of this, he's a lot like Vegeta in two major ways. First, he's obsessed with carrying on the legacy of his race and making their glory known throughout the universe. He's not content to have his race left in the dustbin of history. Secondly, much like Vegeta focused on getting revenge on Frieza, Baby views Vegeta to be his '''equivalent to Frieza''', even if it's misguided.
* MisplacedRetribution: It didn't matter to Baby that the Saiyans who were responsible for exterminating the Tuffle race were long dead, just the fact that there ''were'' any Saiyans left was enough for him to go on a great pursuit for revenge.
* MoralMyopia: Baby wants revenge on the Saiyans for killing the Tuffles. To achieve that end, he enslaves everyone on Earth, a race that had absolutely ''nothing'' to do with the Saiyan/Tuffle conflict, and attacks Goku and his family, who were born long after the war. When Pan points out that the Saiyans who murdered his race are long dead, Baby tells her point-blank that he doesn't care.
** Despite prattling on about being the inheritor of the Tuffles' legacy and how they deserve to be avenged, Baby never thinks to revive the Tuffles back from extinction. In a way Baby is not unlike Vegeta who is content to live with the extinction of the Saiyans and never wishes them back; even though the more powerful Dragon Balls lack time limit restrictions on bringing people back from the dead.
* MotiveDecay: His goal to revive the Tuffle race and start a new empire after wiping out the Saiyan lineage pretty much petered out near the end of his arc, primarily focusing on killing Goku, even if it meant the death of his subjects. All his subsequent appearances have him proclaim his hatred for Saiyans with no mention of building an empire or avenging the Tuffles.
* NearVillainVictory: Baby is one of the ''most'' successful villains in Dragon Ball's history: Actually conquering Earth and its people, restoring his home planet, and being very close to killing Goku twice (both times Goku needed outside help to recover/survive the encounter.) It's through the efforts of Pan, the Kais, and Uub that he fails.
* NoBiologicalSex: A logical conclusion, given that Baby was created from Tuffle DNA, and though his forms and pronouns used for him are masculine, it's probably that it's only for the sake of convenience.
* NoNameGiven: Technically, Baby's not even his name as much as it is an affectionate name by Myuu, which he points out before killing him. But that said, he still ends up claiming the name as his own.
* NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist: He ''had'' somewhat good intention at the beginning of wanting to restore the Tuffle race. But somewhere down the line, his thirst for revenge against the Saiyan race and his burgeoning megalomania got the better of him.
* OhCrap: When Goku overpowers Baby upon reaching Super Saiyan 4, Baby attempts to play a WoundedGazelleGambit regarding Vegeta's body, attempting to discourage Goku from beating him further to avoid doing serious damage to his body. Unfortunately for him, Goku ''knows'' that Vegeta's far tougher than Baby's making him seem, and Baby's visibly reacts in fear before he's sent flying away.
* OneWingedAngel: When Super Saiyan 4 Goku hands him his ass on a platter, Baby resorts to turning himself into a Golden Great Ape too to regain the edge.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Japanese only, but apparently "Baby" is not his real name and it is not even clear that he ''has'' a real name; it is just what Dr. Myuu called him [[spoiler:after Myuu forgot that Baby created ''him'' and not the other way around]], but since neither the audience nor the characters have any other name for him that's the one that sticks, and ultimately it's the one he himself uses.
* OutOfCharacterAlert: When he possesses Vegeta; Goku is able to tell right away that Vegeta is NotHimself, because Baby Vegeta refers to him as Goku. The ''real'' Vegeta [[InsistentTerminology made a point to]] ''[[InsistentTerminology always]]'' [[InsistentTerminology call Goku by his Saiyan birth name, Kakarot]].
* OutGambitted: He tricked Trunks, Goku and Pan into thinking they destroyed him by hiding in Myuu's body, and then successfully made Trunks think he fought off and destroyed Baby by turning into a Super Saiyan when in reality it gave him some helpful information. This allows him down a streak of manipulating and infecting several people during his screentime. Unfortunately for him, he's OutGambitted by the Supreme Kais, Goku and Majuub.
* ParasitesAreEvil: A parasitic lifeform that invades the bodies of his targets via scratches, completely taking over their mind and altering their appearance as well as being able to use his host's abilities as his own. A PsychopathicManchild by nature, he takes over Vegeta's body upon arriving on Earth and uses his powers to enslave and brainwash nearly everyone on the planet.
* PeoplePuppets: He doesn't just infect the fighters of Earth, he infects ''almost every person on Earth'', turning them into extensions of himself and unable to do anything about it.
* ThePowerOfHate: His [[CombinedEnergyAttack Revenge Death Ball]] is this trope in a nutshell. It's basically an evil Spirit Bomb.
* PrimaryColorChampion: Baby is blue-skinned with a yellow vest with matching boots and bracers, along with red piping. He was created with the intention of being the avenger of the Tuffles race, which makes him the enemy of the few remaining Saiyans, which gets subverted as they have since become the heroes of the franchise.
* PsychopathicManchild: He certainly [[MeaningfulName lives up to his name]]; despite having the tactical cunning to outsmart and outfight almost every living ''Dragon Ball'' character, he's immensely immature. It rapidly becomes clear his revenge against the Saiyans is just something he's using as an excuse for his own desires. He's incredibly childish: focused mainly on taking things for himself, having the habit of "playing" during fights to the point of playing pretend (he melodramatically pretended to struggle against Uub until he was "done playing", and upon getting his Golden Great Ape form, he proceeded to pretend he had gone berserk just to play with his new powers), and having a childishly short fuse. In fact, during Goku's first fight with Baby Vegeta, he learned what Baby's biggest weakness was; he's incredibly susceptible to taunting and will lose his cool even if his opponent is obviously bluffing. To top it all off, when he was finally defeated, he completely abandoned everything he had gained, and his mission for revenge, just to run away and save himself.
* PuppeteerParasite: He can insert himself into any person and completely take over their body.
* PurpleIsPowerful: Not by himself, but Baby's Golden Oozaru transformation has purple skin.
* {{Revenge}}: His entire reason for being is the Tuffles' last act of vengeance for the Saiyans wiping them out, it defines his motives for almost everything except his desire to rebuild the Tuffle empire and planet.
* RevengeBeforeReason: His hatred for the Saiyans makes him take some really insane routes. Pan even points out the Saiyans who wiped out his race are long gone, Baby replies he doesn't care. Presumably, the reason he opts to remain possessing Vegeta rather than going to possess or at least enslave the more powerful Goku (or one of his children) -something he considered doing early on- was because Vegeta was the Prince of the Saiyan race and the son of the man who destroyed his people while Goku was just a lowly warrior who Baby felt humiliated him, making Vegeta better from the perspective of poetic justice, but poorer from the BoringButPractical one, and ultimately it is Goku who defeats and kills him.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Once Baby Vegeta loses his tail and access to the Golden Oozaru transformation, he decides to call it quits and leave the planet as fast as possible, though it doesn't get him far.
* SequelAdaptationIconicVillain: The easily most recognized of ''GT's'' villains, thanks to his build-up, design, personality, and actions all being thoroughly focused on, along with the second anime intro giving the audience a glimpse of him, which non of the other villains got outside of the dubs. It helps that the very next ArcVillain could only have been created via Baby's influence.
* SignatureMove: Revenge Death Ball, his antithesis for the Spirit Bomb.
* SmarterThanTheyLook: He first looks no smarter than a feral beast like Kid Buu, but as it turns out, he's one of the smartest and most successful villains in Dragon Ball history.
* SoftSpokenSadist: Yusuke Numata gave Baby a very soft voice made him sound young and creepy. His voice changed to an EvilSoundsRaspy once he became Super Baby 1 and beyond.
* SpotTheImposter: Gives away the fact he's possessing Vegeta to Goku by calling him by his Earth name, while the real Vegeta made it a point to always call him by his saiyan name, Kakarot.
* StoryBreakerPower: While Baby's regeneration ''is'' powerful, it's not nearly as much of a threat as his power to possess other people by entering the bloodstream, and then leaving them subservient to him once he leaves. It's through this power alone that he successfully conquers the planet Earth with ease, possesses the strongest fighters in the cast (sans Uub, Buu, and Goku), is able to use the Black Star Dragon Balls, and nearly wins in his fight against Goku.
* SuperMode: He eventually turns into a Golden Oozaru while in Vegeta's body.
* TakeOverTheWorld: He wishes to rule the galaxy with an iron fist and rebuild a Tsufurian/Tuffle empire, but targets Earth first since that's where both the Saiyans and Dragon Balls are going to be. Notably, he ''does'' succeed in this goal for an ambiguous amount of time. In ''VideoGame/DragonBallXenoverse'', when he teams up with Omega Shenron and Super 17, Baby disagrees with the former about destroying the universe because Baby wants to rule over it.
* TooPowerfulToLive: The one of the reasons Goku kills him as he's running for his life. Presumably also the reason he doesn't return in the very next arc when the villains of Hell are freed. With his StoryBreakerPower and general level of strength, it's doubtful the heroes would have been able to beat him without Goku there.
* TransformationOfThePossessed: When he chooses Vegeta as his permanent host, he does this. At first, it merely manifests as FacialMarkings and white hair, but as Baby becomes more powerful, eventually Vegeta looks nothing like himself--instead, he's basically Baby with a strong body and white AnimeHair.
* UndignifiedDeath: Baby dies running for his life and scared out of his mind, hardly a dignified way to go, but extremely fitting.
* UngratefulBastard:
** How does Baby repay Dr. Myuu for upgrading him into a bionic lifeform that can survive almost anything? By shredding the doctor from the inside out, sneering at him and further defiling his corpse.
** His followers, brainwashed or otherwise, practically worship the air he breathes and are shown behind him 100%. Yet what does he do when he gets smashed into a wall during his fight with Uub and Gohan, Goten, and Trunks rush to his side, showing great concern for his well-being? He gets ''pissed off'' and screams at them for interfering with his battle, calling it a lack of faith in his power before blasting them away, [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness now declaring their usefulness to him over]]. Granted, he was just [[JustToyingWithThem toying with Uub and wasn't in any real danger]], but even so, his followers had no way of knowing that. This moment encapsulates his MotiveDecay and how much of a bloody hypocrite he has devolved into since his creation.
* UnstoppableRage: He wouldn't stop until every Saiyan was either dead or under his control.
* VillainBall: Baby almost completely avoids this, as he tends to be methodical and deceptively cunning. However, he didn't ''need'' to eat Uub once he was turned into a cookie, but he did so anyway for his own entertainment. This ended up being a ''very'' bad mistake on his end.
* VillainHasAPoint: Downplayed. Just because he has a point does not mean he is ''right''. His hatred towards Saiyans is justified considering they caused the extinction of his people, but what he does due to this hatred is inexcusable.
* VillainTeamUp:
** Demigra gathers him, Super 17, and Omega Shenron to fight Gogeta and the PlayerCharacter in ''Videogame/DragonBallXenoverse''. [[EnemyMine He joins them due to his hatred of Goku]], but won't allow Omega Shenron to destroy the universe he wants to conquer.
** Towa sends [[Characters/DragonBallZMovieVillains Hatchiyack]] to help him in a god mission in ''Videogame/DragonBallHeroes'', fusing together in the process to create ''Baby Hatchiyack''. Unlike other examples in the franchise, [[VillainousFriendship the two seem to get along pretty well]]. Then you remember they both are ''Tuffles!''
* VillainousBreakdown: As he's worn down from Majuub's attack on his insides as well as a revitalized Super Saiyan 4 Goku courtesy of the other Saiyans lending him their energy, Baby becomes increasingly angry and wild in his attacks as he desperately tries to put Goku down, culminating in unleashing his Revenge Death Ball Final.
* TheVirus: Not only is Baby a parasite that controls others, but he's fully capable of releasing an airborne virus from his body that infects and controls the minds of billions of people at once, the sole exceptions being Buu and Uub. Similarly, once he leaves a host, he also leaves eggs in their body that allows him to retain his control over them, he can even choose when those eggs hatch, as he held off on doing so to Trunks to make it seem like he successfully fought Baby off.
* VoicesAreMental: Zigzagged. When possessing Gohan and Goten, he sounds exactly like them. However, when he takes on Vegeta as his host, Vegeta's voice becomes his own. Possibly justified, as Baby ends up warping Vegeta's body so much that it barely resembles what it used to be, meaning his vocal cords probably got shifted around as well. In earlier scenes when Baby is controlling other people, Baby can switch between the voice between him and his host.
* VoodooShark: With the reveal that Baby is Myuu's creator and not the other way around as it was presented, it brings up questions as to ''how'' this is possible, as it's shown Baby was not quite active when he was first discovered. And it's never further expanded upon when was Myuu created or why Baby wasn't in shape beforehand. Also his declaration that Baby is ''not'' his name and that he hated the name Myuu gave him.... only to never decide on another name, and still use the name Baby despite his supposed disgust with the name.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Despite Super 17's arc coming right after Baby's, the latter is nowhere to be seen among the many villains escaping from Hell, despite being its most recent occupant and having every reason to escape.
* WhiteHairBlackHeart: When Baby took control of Vegeta's body, his hair became white.
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: {{Subverted|Trope}}; when he becomes a Golden Oozaru, he goes on a rampage on his own planet, like Oozarus usually do, but when Goku questions this, he reveals that he, as just a parasite inside Vegeta, is unaffected, and was just pretending. Of course, arguably {{double subver|sion}}ted since anyone who decides to pretend to be insane to justify testing out new powers on his own people wantonly is probably rather insane anyway, and he does act much more rashly and impulsively while in this form.
* TheWorfEffect: Baby Vegeta easily overpowers Super Saiyan 3 Goku, who was unable to even faze him. Once Goku becomes a Golden Great Ape, however, he gets smacked away like a bug, and once Goku further goes Super Saiyan 4 their positions are reversed with Baby completely outmatched, forcing him to become a Golden Great Ape himself to regain the advantage.
* YouAreWhatYouHate: By the end of his arc, Baby's become exactly the kind of mindless, rampaging, invasive Great Ape that wiped out his people. As much established, though, he doesn't especially care.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: After possessing some people, Baby gains a teenage appearance, and by the time he leaves Vegeta's body, he gains an adult body as well. Keep in mind that he was born barely a couple of days/weeks ago (though his core components were developed right before the tuffle race was exterminated, so assuming he was conscious at the time, he's at least as old as Vegeta).

A Machine Mutant created by Dr. Gero and Dr. Myuu while in Hell, designed to locate Android 17, brainwash him, and fuse with him in order to become Super 17.
----
* AdaptationalWimp: In the original Japanese, Vegeta described Hell Fighter 17 as "powered-up beyond belief" compared to the original Android 17 and, indeed, is capable of matching Vegeta at least in his base form. In the [=FUNimation=] dub, Dr. Myuu states instead that Hell Fighter 17 has equal power to the original Android 17, who would be weaker by orders of magnitude than ''GT'' Vegeta at this point. Given that he is still shown as capable of matching Vegeta in his base form, however, it's either a DubInducedPlotHole or implied that the original Android 17 has been getting much stronger as well.
* AIIsACrapshoot: Inverted. Hell Fighter 17 is one of the few of Dr. Gero's creations who follows his orders without question, which is rather ironic considering he is based on the most rebellious of all Gero's androids. Possibly justified by Dr. Myuu also having a hand in his creation.
* ClippedWingAngel: Though almost certainly a non-canon example, in the ''VideoGame/DragonBallZBudokaiTenkaichi'' scenario "The True Ultimate Android" Hell Fighter 17 exhibits the ability to become Super 17 without fusing with the original. This version of Super 17 is identified as imperfect, however, and indeed fails to match Perfect Cell in power.
* DarkIsEvil: Like Super 17 below, he has a dark BattleAura when he powers up.
* DefensiveFeintTrap: Before fusing with Android 17, he fights Vegeta in his base form and is promptly beaten. Vegeta is initially unimpressed with Hell Fighter 17's power until Dr. Myuu and Gero reveal that 17 isn't using all of his strength before the true Android 17 arrives and the two merge into Super 17, who then proceeds to fight off Vegeta, alongside Gohan, Goten, Trunks, Vegeta, and Majuub with ease.
* EvilKnockoff: He's a copy of Android 17 created by Dr. Gero and Dr. Myuu to control the original Android 17 and fuse with him to create Super 17. His appearance is identical to how Android 17 looked in the Android Saga, and their only visual difference is that by the time of ''GT'', the original Android 17 wears a tan leather duster.
* ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin: His name is Hell Fighter 17 and he's a... fighter from Hell.
* FlatCharacter: Unlike the original Android 17, who has personality in spades, Hell Fighter has no personality beyond doing the bidding of his masters. In that respect, he's more like the earlier androids, which is fitting as he is completely mechanical.
* KarmicDeath: He only exists to brainwash the original 17 into fusing with him, so fittingly Super 17 is defeated after what is implied to be the original Android 17 overpowering Hell Fighter 17's mind control from within Super 17 long enough to allow Goku to defeat Super 17.
* OneWingedAngel: Super 17 can be considered his version of this, seeing as how he is the one most in control of the fused form (with the original Android 17 reduced to FightingFromTheInside).
* OutOfTheInferno: He meets Vegeta while walking out of flames.
* PsychicLink: He has a psychic link with Android 17, which allows him to control his counterpart.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: Despite only appearing in three episodes, he's the one to properly kickstart the Super 17 Saga.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: He's one of the briefest-appearing villainous characters of any ''Dragon Ball'' arc, appearing in just three episodes.

A combination of the regular Android 17 and Hell Fighter 17 which was built by Dr. Gero and Dr. Myuu. Has so much more power than his normal form that he pretty much defeats all the Z-Fighters that come against him, including a Super Saiyan 4 Goku. However, a combined effort from 18 and Goku finally brings him down.
----
* AIIsACrapshoot: Initially he seems to be completely under the control of Dr. Gero and Dr. Myuu until Myuu reveals that he secretly programmed Super 17 to take orders only from him in a YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness-style backstab. Despite this, the goading of Android 18 eventually drives him to rebel against and kill Myuu as well, though Hell Fighter 17's influence drives him to continue attacking the heroes again afterward.
* AchillesHeel: His one weakness is that he's vulnerable to physical attacks while absorbing energy attacks. It also helped that Android 17 is implied to have forced him to reveal this weakness and allow himself to be killed.
* AgentPeacock: He takes regular 17's mild vanity up a notch, constantly brushing his hair back and studying himself (in the games brushing his hair back is even his idle animation!) but he's ''extremely'' powerful.
* AllYourPowersCombined: He can absorb energy like 19 and Gero, but has his own energy source that fuels him, like 17 and 18, has Gatling guns in his arms similar to 16 and his ultimate attack (the Electro Eclipse Bomber) is even reminiscent of 13's own ultimate, the S.S. Deadly Bomber. The video games give him the absorption ability of Cell ''on top'' of all of that.
* ArcVillain: Of the Super 17 Saga, one of the shortest arcs in the series.
* ArmCannon: Super 17 can detach his hand to reveal a Gatling gun hidden in his forearm.
* ArtificialHuman: He's the result of the fusion of the regular Android 17 (a {{Cyborg}}, a human enhanced with technology) and Hell Fighter 17 (built with the Machine Mutant technology of Dr. Myuu). As a result, he seems to be more on the "Artificial" side, as he's shown having Gatling guns in his arms, similar to Android 16, who was fully robotic.
* BigBadFriend: Despite being evil, in the games at least he maintains the original 17's friendliness to Android 16, ribbing the older android about his "barely holding together as always" if they face each other in battle.
* BloodKnight: What lies beneath all the BrainwashedAndCrazy. Made more apparent in the more recent video games, where his characterization can best be summed up as ''Z''-era Android 17 on a massive ego trip.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: In a sense, he's a combination of a subservient Hell Fighter 17 and a brainwashed Android 17 and meant to be loyal to his creators and follow their commands word for word. While he eventually fights off the brainwashed part, he still remains crazy, but more along the lines of DrunkWithPower rather than the intended OmnicidalManiac. (One side quest from ''Xenoverse 2'' where you have to help him defeat the Monster Island Ranger incarnation of Android 17 from ''DB Super'' ends with him deciding to leave Earth intact [[NoChallengeEqualsNoSatisfaction once he has no more challengers]] and go find strong fighters elsewhere in the cosmos to beat up.)
* CannibalismSuperpower: The games give him Cell's ability to absorb the other androids to increase his strength, though ''how'' he actually does this is left ambiguous seeing as how he's lacking certain, ahem, ''[[BewareMyStingerTail equipment]]''.
* CavalierCompetitor: A trait of early Android 17 that he keeps to a degree. More so apparent in the newer video games, where his entire motivation seems to be proving he's the strongest. When he's gathered to team up with Baby and Omega Shenron in a Parallel Quest from ''Xenoverse'', Super 17 doesn't care for either Baby's desire to conquer and rule the universe or Omega Shenron's mission to destroy it, because all that matters to him is being the best.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Super 17 was largely subservient and quiet when shown with Myuu and Gero, his constant smirk, evil laughter, and smugness about his power were largely his only defining traits. Later installments go to show his rebellious attitude, narcissism, desire to grow stronger, a bit of a temper, and desire to prove himself the strongest Android.
* CharacterTic: He constantly brushes his hair back behind his ears in every episode he's in, it's even one of the very first things he does when he first comes into being.
* CombatClairvoyance: He's been programmed with full knowledge of all of Goku's techniques by Gero and Myuu, allowing him to see through them. Of course, this doesn't include Super Saiyan 4, since Gero and Myuu weren't around when Goku unlocked it.
* CombatSadomasochist: The most emotion he ever shows is when he's fighting someone, and he's quite vocal about how he enjoys absorbing power from others no matter how hard they hit him, and grins as he deals out his own attacks in turn.
* DarkIsEvil: His Electro Eclipse Bomb is a sphere of dark energy and in some of the games he is also given a dark BattleAura when he powers up.
* DontMakeMeDestroyYou: The first hint that the real 17 is lurking within Super 17 is his surprise that 18's coming to Goku's defense as he tells her to get out of the way, hesitating to even attack her. Similarly, in any video game he ends up against 16 or 18, he practically says this word for word.
* TheDragon: He's technically this to Gero and Myuu, but he ultimately ends up being the one to kill them both.
* {{Doppelmerger}}: Super 17 is a result of the original Android 17 and his robotic duplicate merging together.
* EnergyAbsorption: Though he has the inlets on his gloves/hands similar to 19 and 20, he actually does this with his entire body by extending his limbs in a star-like pose. As the original 17 didn't have this ability, presumably it's either an ability that Hell Fighter 17 had, or it was made when [=HF17=] fused with regular 17.
* EvilIsBigger: He's ''much'' taller than the relatively diminutive Android 17. In fact, in video games he appears in he's usually only equaled in height by Broly in his enormous Legendary Super Saiyan form.
* ExactWords: Myuu laughs off 18's attempt to get Super 17 to fight off Myuu's commands and think for himself. He then tells him to show her that no one controls him. Super 17 proceeds to do just that... by killing ''Myuu''.
* {{Expy}}: He becomes one to Cell and [[Characters/DragonBallZMovieVillains Android 13]] in ''Videogame/DragonBallHeroes'' by absorbing Android 18 thanks to Towa's aid. He can also absorb Android 16 and Cell in the game.
* FeedItWithFire: He gets stronger by absorbing energy attacks. By the time Goku catches on, he's already pumped 17 up with enough energy for him to hand Super Saiyan 4 Goku his ass.
* FightingFromTheInside: Android 17 is implied to have been doing this, however, it's only shown when 18 shows up and confronts him that he regains just a bit of his free will.
* TheFightingNarcissist: A trait he got from the games is him putting emphasis on how much he cares about his appearance, claiming to "fight beautifully" and getting annoyed if his clothes are damaged. The most he had before was a constant habit of brushing his hair behind his ears.
* FlatCharacter: Played straight in his home series, where Myuu and Gero do all the talking to the heroes, and Super 17 isn't particularly mouthy himself, he's mainly just an evil 17 who's more confident about his power and none of the depth. Subverted in materials afterward, which greatly flesh out his character and define his ambition and pride.
* FusionDance: Created from the merger of the original Android 17 and the Hell Fighter 17 that Myuu and Gero jointly created in Hell.
* GatlingGood: He's got two of them hidden in each arm, a la 16 and his blasters.
* HalfHumanHybrid: Half Augmented Human Cyborg, half Machine Mutant.
* HeroKiller: He is responsible for [[TheyKilledKennyAgain Giru's second death]] and Krillin's fourth death. The former gets repaired at the end of his arc, the latter remains dead until the penultimate episode of the series.
* HeroicSuicide: It's implied that somewhere deep inside Super 17 was the brother that 18 loved, and he let himself be killed by Goku's Dragon Fist technique, [[IKnowYoureInThereSomewhereFight since he couldn't fight Dr. Myuu's programming completely]]. Thankfully, the wish that revives the victims of the whole Super 17 and Shadow Dragon fiasco also includes the original Android 17. The games show much more of Android 17's influence on his overall personality.
* ILetYouWin: Goku speculates this was the case after the defeat of Super 17, that the original 17 forced Super 17 to ''only'' absorb attacks, showing his one known weakness and doing nothing to protect himself from Goku's attack. A good thing too, seeing how Goku and 18 were pretty close to dying then and there.
* InexplicablyAwesome: He's just a fusion of 17 and his exact copy, both of whom are much weaker than Imperfect Cell. There's no reason given why a fusion of the two would be stronger than Majin Buu by orders of magnitude. It is implied by Dr. Gero that the original Android 17 was something of a failed SuperPrototype, though, being originally intended to have been stronger than even Cell, and that Super 17 wasn't so much an upgrade of 17 as it was 17 in his true, complete state. Accounting for ''Dragon Ball Super''[='=]s reveal that 17 has always been capable of maximizing his android abilities up to god-tier power levels, it's possible to call Super 17 more or less a shortcut to unlock his true power (as well as alter some of the specs, but that's another ballgame).
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: How he met his end against Goku.
* InterruptedCooldownHug: Because of her anger over Krillin's death, Android 18 manages to be both the loved one who gets Super 17 to cool his jets ''and'' the impetuous shooter who stops his HeelFaceTurn.
* {{Irony}}: The highly rebellious Android 17 who refused to hurt innocent people has become part of the subservient mass murderer Super 17. 18 spells this out to him during their confrontation.
* TheJuggernaut: He stomps all over the Z-Fighters like it's nothing, and then takes out Super Saiyan 4 Goku without too much trouble. Even Goku's attempted SuicideAttack did nothing but ruin his clothes and give him a few arbitrary scratch marks. It's only through his AchillesHeel that he's finally injured and promptly defeated.
* LargeHam: Tends to go for over-the-top acting more than the original 17. And he still manages to fall into the Stoic due to being unfailingly collected in most of his screentime.
* LaughingMad: Per the above, he laughs quite often when he's winning. Played up a bit more in his video game appearances.
* NearVillainVictory: One of the few villains to be outright stronger and more durable than Goku himself and any of the other Z-fighters. He even has Goku ready to face death with the acceptance that he failed. His defeat comes as a result of 17's FightingFromTheInside and 18's timely arrival.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: While a formidable opponent when first introduced, Goku makes Super 17 ''much'' stronger than he once was by continuously shooting him with energy blasts, realizing too late that he's actually giving him more power.
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: He did this to Gohan, Goten, Trunks, Vegeta, and Uub ''at the same time''.
* NoSell: His energy absorption power lets him do this to ''any'' energy-based attacks.
* NotSoStoic: He shows two big displays of emotions throughout his showing on GT: Once when he absorbs Super Saiyan 4 Goku's 10x Kamehameha and starts maniacally laughing, and the other time when Goku sneaks up on Super 17 and threatens to destroy them both, causing him to start to worry and freak out.
* TheNthDoctor: The original Japanese and most dubs have the same actor who voices Android 17 voice Hell Fighter 17 and Super 17. In the Latin American Spanish dub, however, while Android 17 voice actor Genaro Vásquez does voice Hell Fighter 17, Super 17 is voiced by Rolando de Castro for some reason, although it's implied that it has something to do with the fusion.
* PowerMakesYourHairGrow: Upon the two 17s fusing together, in their combined form his hair has gone from shoulder-length to hanging past his back. He's also far more powerful than either of his parts combined, stomping all the Z-fighters and being able to exert Super Saiyan 4 Goku.
* TheQuietOne: Super 17 is not nearly as snarky as his original counterpart, and seems content to let Gero or Myuu do all the talking for him. Even when he's finally on his own, he's still not particularly mouthy. This is subverted in the videogames however, as Super 17 is just as if not more so a DeadpanSnarker as his original self.
* RebelRelaxation: Engages in a floating version of this pose at one point during this fight against the Z-Fighters as the doctors boast about his powers.
* RunningGag: He upholds the proud Android 17 tradition of killing off Dr. Gero.
* ShouldersOfDoom: {{Inverted|Trope}}, as not only does he not have shoulder pads, he doesn't have ''any'' clothing on his shoulders.
* SignatureMove: Electro Eclipse Bomb and Flash Bomber.
* SuperSenses: He's so in tune with his surroundings that not even Goku using Instant Transmission can successfully sneak up on him.
* SphereOfDestruction: His Electro Eclipse Bomb/Shocking Death Ball special attack. Ironically, despite being rather similar to Android 13's [[AlwaysAccurateAttack S.S.]] [[HomingProjectile Deadly Bomber]], it has ''horrible'' accuracy in the games.
* StrongAsTheyNeedToBe: Has this as a superpower. One minute, he has a bit of trouble with Super Saiyan (Kid) Goku; the next he's ''owning Super Saiyan 4'' Goku. Justified somewhat by his energy absorption.
* TheStoic: Has shades of this, as he claims he'll "never understand these Earthlings with their emotions." Ironically he cuts loose more than Android 17 does especially in fights, and ''Super'' implies that 17 misses having the full range of human emotion.
* TragicMonster: PlayedWith. He's a rather unrepentant machine that has no problems killing the heroes, but half of him is a brainwashed, unwilling, participant of this fusion that fights for control as much as he can.
* TranquilFury: His interactions with Cell in the ''Budokai Tenkaichi'' and ''Xenoverse'' games. He wants him ''out'' of his face.
* VillainOverride: In ''Dragon Ball Fusions'' it is revealed that he has the ability to take control of any of the other androids. Yes, even Android 20, ''his own creator''.
* VillainRespect: He gives Vegeta credit for being able to stand up after a couple of beatdowns, Vegeta doesn't return any praise and immediately attempts to kill him.
* VillainTeamUp: Demigra gathers Baby, him, and Omega Shenron to fight Gogeta and the player character in ''Videogame/DragonBallXenoverse''. [[EnemyMine He only tags along due to his desire to beat Goku and prove he's the best]], and doesn't really care about the other two villains or their plans.
* UltimateLifeForm: Similar to Cell, he likes to proclaim himself the "Ultimate Android" in the videogames.
-->'''Super 17:''' Abandon this perfect form nonsense, the Ultimate Warrior is standing right before you!
* WeHardlyKnewYe: He's one of the briefest-appearing BigBad characters of any ''Dragon Ball'' arc, appearing in just a scant five episodes. He's not even his own villain for more than a single episode, serving as TheDragon until his rebellion shortly before his death.
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: Absorbing Super Saiyan 4 Goku's Kamehameha 10X drives him over the deep end.
* WorldsStrongestMan: His main motivation in the series and is to be strongest in the universe, which is highlighted when he, Baby and Omega Shenron team up in ''VideoGame/DragonBallXenoverse'', as all three main villains have their own goals and motivations that are distinct from each other. He doesn't care if Omega Shenron is going to destroy the universe of if Baby rules over the universe as long as Super 17 is the strongest in the universe.

The living, breathing incarnations of all of the negative energy that had accumulated in the Dragon Balls due to the Dragon Team's excessive usage of them.
----
* AdvertisedExtra: Despite the arc being about confronting them, most don't last more than a single episode until the last four.
* AscendedExtra: In the Manga ''Dragon Ball Heroes: Victory Mission'', the Shadow Dragons are brought back and pose far more of a threat than before. In addition to being stronger, they are capable of transformations, organization, and possession that had never been seen before, rightfully causing them to be a case of AdaptationalBadass.
* AsLongAsThereIsEvil: Both Dragon Ball Heroes and Super Dragon Ball Heroes go off the basis that the Shadow Dragons can never ''truly'' die, as they are spawned from the Dragon Balls' negative energy, they can return even from Namekian Dragon Balls and Dark Dragon Balls as well.
* CombatPragmatist: None of them barring Nuova have any qualms over fighting dirty to get the victory over Goku they crave.
* CreateYourOwnVillain: The Shadow Dragons were all created because Goku and the Dragon Team excessively used the Dragon Balls, allowing the negative energy within to accumulate and eventually spawn them. Several of them even remind Goku that they were basically born because of him.
* DragonsAreDemonic: They are malevolent creatures born of negative energy who exist to cause as much chaos and destruction as possible.
* ForTheEvulz: They only have one real job: Bring the destruction of the planet, which defines just about everything they do, barring [[TokenGoodTeammate Nuova]].
* FireIceLightning: Nuova, Eis, and Rage, in that order.
* GenericDoomsdayVillain:
** A lot of them don't have much personality going for them, or even desires beyond being evil. There are exceptions in Nuova and Eis, but it's due to their screen time having more focus on their personalities than their fights.
** While a lot of the Shadow Dragons fall into this to varying degrees, as a side effect of being MadeOfEvil and having most of their screentime be late in the series and comprised of fight scenes, Syn stands out for this: he is the most powerful of the bunch by a wide margin, and he has very few discernible quirks or traits beyond being powerful and wanting to kill everything.
* KarmaHoudiniWarranty: In theory, they are this, punishing those who use the Dragon Balls too much, but in execution, they're just causing destruction regardless of the reason those wishes were made.
* LivingMacGuffin: Subverted. Despite being spawned from the dragon balls and connected to them, they are ''not'' the Dragon Balls themselves. Eis and Nuova both can apparently give up their Dragon Balls without harm, so the same could be assumed true of the others.
* MadeOfEvil: They are the living incarnations of the Dragon Balls' accumulated negative energy.
* MisplacedRetribution: There's only a small group of people that mainly conversely use the Dragon Balls, but they're mainly concerned with destroying the entire world than those targeting specific people.
* MonsterOfTheWeek: What most of them boil down to until Nuova, Eis, and Syn break this trend.
* NormalFishInATinyPond: While destructive forces of nature, the exceptions of Nuova and Syn, the Dragon are dealt with by Goku in a relatively quick struggle, showing they were no match for the seasoned Saiyan.
* ThemeNaming: Their names are based on their respective Dragon Ball in both languages. The Japanese names are simply "[Number]-Star Dragon" in Chinese while the English names form an [[FunWithAcronyms acronym]] that spells "SHENRON" followed by Shenron itself. The Italian dub does a bit of both, referencing each with the Chinese Number Star prefix plus "Shenron".
* UnskilledButStrong: Syn, Nuova, and Eis (due to his trickery being very effective) are the only three who possess the necessary martial arts skills to pose a legitimate threat to Goku. The other four rely on their ElementalPowers to have a chance against him.

The product of the Dragon Balls' accumulated negative energy, he serves no purpose aside from spawning the seven Shadow Dragons.
----
* CigarChomper: Appears chomping on a cigar. Said cigar is edited out of the Creator/CartoonNetwork airing.
* GoodSmokingEvilSmoking: He's pure evil and smokes a cigar.
* JerkassGod: Is essentially a God-like Dragon similar to the normal Shenron, but with none of the latter's good qualities, being impolite, rude and eager to bring the entire Universe to ruin.
* MonsterProgenitor: He split into the seven Shadow Dragons.
* TheUnfought: Since he splits himself into the seven Shadow Dragons the heroes never get to face him in a battle.

[[folder:Syn Shenron/Omega Shenron]]
!!'''Syn Shenron/Omega Shenron''' (一星龍, ''Ī Shinron'')

The One-Star Dragon created from Mr. Popo's wish to revive everyone killed by Frieza and his men. Not surprisingly, he's the strongest and vilest of all the dragons, even going to Super Saiyan 4 hardly phases him. He becomes more powerful still when he absorbs all the Dragon Balls to become Omega Shenron, the ultimate dragon. In the end, it takes energy from all over the universe to form the Spirit Bomb needed to stop him. He has no element unless you count his pure negative energy.
----
* AllYourPowersCombined: Absorbing the other six Dragon Balls gives him all the special powers of the six lesser dragons plus a general boost in overall power.
* BadBoss: Towards Nuova Shenron.
* BeardOfEvil: Sports what appears to be a Clark Gable-style mustache made of spikes.
* BigBad: Of the Shadow Dragons saga.
* BishonenLine: While the other Shadow Dragons are fairly monstrous, Syn is a handsome, burly humanoid who looks like he's wearing armor. Naturally, he's the strongest and most vicious of the seven.
* BreakThemByTalking: Syn declares that Goku has no right to criticize [[CreateYourOwnVillain his own creation]], reminding Goku that the entire reason that he and the other Shadow Dragons came to be is that Goku and his friends overused the Dragon Balls, further driving in the nail by reminding him that the Old Kai explicitly ''warned'' him not to keep doing so, but Goku didn't listen. While Goku doesn't deny his accusations, he nonetheless insists that, even if he ''did'' create the Shadow Dragons, he ''never once'' used the Dragon Balls for his own gain.
* CardCarryingVillain: He outright calls himself the ultimate evil during the FinalBattle.
* CastingAShadow: Though he mainly uses generic ki attacks and martial arts, he does have a few attacks centered around evilness.
* CombatPragmatist: He attacks Goku when he's weakened and exhausted from his fights with Nuova and Eis, has no qualms against shooting his opponents InTheBack, and does all he can to prevent opponents from powering up or fusing.
* CombinedEnergyAttack: His Negative Karma Ball, which Gogeta counters by booting away with a positive energy-charged kick. Its exact nature varies between versions due to DubText. The original Japanese version, it's composed of the heavily condensed negative energy of the Dragon Balls plus the hatred of all the Shadow Dragons. In the Funimation dub, it's composed of all the sins of the world and its people.
* CurbstompCushion:
** Goku was hopelessly outmatched against Omega, but his Dragon Fist attack ''was'' able to make Omega scream in pain and even blast him to bits. After reforming, Omega admits that it was a very painful attack, even if it was not enough.
** Omega doesn't get his own cushion from his beatdown by Gogeta, however; an attack that seems to at least be discomforting Gogeta turns out to just have been him treating it like a massage.
* DirtyCoward: Spends his last moments pleading for mercy when he realizes Goku can and ''will'' kill him with the Universal Spirit Bomb.
* DubNameChange: Originally Yi Xing Long and Super Yi Xing Long.
** FunWithAcronyms: Syn starts with the first letter in "'''S'''HENRON".
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Pulling a YouHaveFailedMe on poor Nuova.
* FantasticRacism: For some reason, he has this towards Saiyans, calling Goku and Vegeta "Monkeys" during their fight.
* FlatCharacter: Not much to him than being a very proud Shadow Dragon that wants to destroy everything, though he can also be a bit of a coward.
* FinalBoss: He is the final villain Son Goku and the Z-Fighters face chronologically counting ''[[Anime/DragonBallZ Z]]''. His defeat also depends on Goku making a Spirit Bomb fueled with the energy of everyone he has met on his journey across the universe, bringing a sense of closure to the series.
* ForgotAboutHisPowers:
** While he makes use of most of his powers, he very conspicuously doesn't seem to bother with Haze's ability to poison others and sap their strength. This is fairly unusual, as Haze's power was easily the biggest equalizer of the various Shadow Dragon abilities, being able to cripple Goku just by passively being around him.
*** He only uses the powers of most of the other shadow dragons once, soon after obtaining them. Afterwards he only uses Rage's electric powers once to regenerate, and one more time to electrify Vegeta, but mostly he either uses physical attacks or ki blasts. [[FightsLikeANormal That mostly makes him not look any different than before he got them]].
** Played with in terms of Rage Shenron's Electrical Slime powers. While he ''does'' use it as a primary way of regenerating, its ability to sap and immobilize opponents isn't particularly used even though his power very nearly gave Rage Shenron the win.
** He's capable of doing 10x Kamahameha, and is even good enough at it to control its direction much like Goku did against King Piccolo and Raditz. He uses it only once and never again.
* ForTheEvulz: Being MadeOfEvil, everything he does is for his own sick amusement.
* FromASingleCell: Thanks to Rage Shenron's Electrical Slime powers. Very Majin Buu-esque, even being a pink slime while reforming. He only uses this twice, though, once to show how outclassed Goku was by surviving a Dragon Fist and once to just barely survive Gogeta's Big Bang Kamehameha.
* HateSink: There's absolutely nothing positive about Syn/Omega Shenron. He kills his fellow dragon for petty reasons, resorts to sneak attacks to get advantages, talks down to all his opponents, calls saiyans "Monkeys" and begs like a coward for mercy when he knows he's about to die. Of course, this makes his humiliation by Gogeta and defeat by Goku ''quite'' satisfying.
* HumiliationConga: His CurbStompBattle against Gogeta is just him being made out to be a joke more than a threat, which is very well deserved.
* IconicSequelCharacter: As the FinalBoss in a face off against [[WorldsStrongestMan Gogeta as a Super Saiyan 4]], Omega Shenron is seen as a plenty recognizable villain in his own right. [[ButtMonkey Though maybe not for the reasons he would have wanted]].
* {{Irony}}: Syn Shenron was born from one the most selfless wishes in the series and in turn is one of the most selfish, cruel, and destructive beings around.
* MadeOfEvil: Syn is made of all the negative energy the Dragon Balls accumulated over the years. [[{{Irony}} Yes, the source of all hope creates the ultimate bringer of doom in the series.]]
* MasterOfAll: Possesses all the Shadow Dragons' abilities as Omega Shenron, and uses most of them to good effect.
* MeaningfulName:
** Syn sounds very similar to "sin." As he is the ultimate Shadow Dragon and the evilest of them, this similarity actually makes some sense.
*** Notice how there are [[SevenDeadlySins seven]] Dragon Balls?
*** His name is Syn and he's the One-Star Dragon. Original Sin, anyone?
*** Made even more significant by FunWithAcronyms above.
*** Also makes a fitting pun, in that "Syn" can also be short for the word "synthesis" (something that is a combination or composition of other things), of which he combines, or ''synthesizes'', the other Dragon Balls into himself in order to transform himself into Omega Shenron.
** The final letter of the Greek alphabet, Omega, signifies finality. This symbolism reflects Omega Shenron's role as the GT timeline's FinalBoss - he's the most powerful and last major opponent that Goku and Vegeta face.
* NoNonsenseNemesis: Syn/Omega does ''not'' mess around unlike the majority of the franchise's villains never once allowing the heroes to get one over him for long or have the chance for it. He attacks Goku and tries to kill him when he's blinded and exhausted after fighting Nuova and Eis, then repeatedly pummels him over and over to prevent him from recovering his strength, and once Gogeta's fusion time expires when he fails to finish him off, he does everything possible to prevent Goku and Vegeta from fusing again.
* NoOneCouldSurviveThat: He's the only villain who survived Goku's "Dragon Fist" attack.
** As a testament to how powerful he is, he gets hit at point-blank range with the ultimate attack of (at that point) the most powerful character in the franchise with no attempt to defend himself- ''and survives'' (keep in mind the attack was intended to kill him). Though the attack ''did'' blow the corrupted Dragon Balls out of his body, returning him to his original form and crippling him power-wise. He likely would have died had Gogeta managed to fire a second one.
* NoTrueScotsman: His reasoning for offing Nuova is because it's not the Shadow Dragon's way to be honorable.
* NoSell: Immune to the Solar Flare.
* NonElemental: In his base state, he uses generic KiManipulation rather than any specific ElementalPowers like the other Shadow Dragons.
* TheNthDoctor: In the Funimation dub, Syn Shenron is voiced by Bob Carter, but Omega Shenron is voiced by Creator/ChristopherSabat.
* OmnicidalManiac: If let loose, [[TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt his mere evil power will destroy everything]]. This is also his primary motivation, mostly because he's made of evil energy. This is highlighted when he, Baby and Super 17 team up in ''VideoGame/DragonBallXenoverse'', as the three have distinct goals and motivations. Super 17 wants to prove he's the strongest in the universe, while Baby's motivation is to rule over the universe; both of these very much conflict with Omega Shenron's goal, which is to destroy the universe, hinting that if they were to successfully defeat the heroes they will simply fight amongst themselves.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: Omega Shenron's mere ''existence'' causes the planet to suffer wildly from natural disasters that threaten to tear the planet apart without him even doing anything directly, meaning if he wanted to, he could have stalled long enough for the planet to come to an end on its own. Old Kai later states he could tear ''the universe itself apart.''
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: Like Frieza before him, he derogatorily calls Goku and Vegeta "[[FantasticSlur monkeys]]."
* PowerCopying: After eating the Dragon Balls, he can use the powers of all the Shadow Dragons.
* PowerEchoes: As Omega Shenron, has this perpetually.
* PullingThemselvesTogether: After he is blown apart by Goku's Dragon Fist attack, he uses Rage's slime ability to reassemble himself.
* ShockAndAwe: His Dragon Thunder attack which he uses to vicious effect on Vegeta right after ''impaling Vegeta through the arms on his spikes.'' In ''Budokai 3'' and ''Infinite World'', he summons a lightning bolt instead.
* SignatureMove: Dragon Thunder and Negative Karma Ball/Minus Energy Power Ball.
* SpikesOfVillainy: On his back and elbows. [[ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice They aren't just for show, either]].
* UnholyNuke: His strongest attack, an orange ball of energy made from all the negative energy in the Dragon Balls along with the hatred of the Shadow Dragons; referred to as the Minus Energy Power Ball. In the Funimation dub, [[TheHeartless it's composed of all the accumulated sins of humanity]] and referred to as the Negative Karma Ball. In both instances, this makes it the counterpart to the Spirit Bomb.
* VillainsWantMercy: After killing one of his own kind, and planning to corrupt and destroy the entire universe, when he's unable to stop the Universal Spirit Bomb, he finally panics and begs Goku for mercy, only to receive none.
* VillainousBreakdown: When Goku prepares the Universal Spirit Bomb, to his shock, he's unable to stop it. He gets more and more desperate until finally swallowing his pride and begging for his life.
* VillainTeamUp: Demigra gathers Baby, Super 17, and him to fight Gogeta and the PlayerCharacter in ''VideoGame/DragonBallXenoverse''. [[EnemyMine He decides to tag along]], but would probably end up destroying them too if they ever won.
* WorfHadTheFlu: Goku struggled against Syn, but that was largely due to being both blinded ''and'' exhausted by dealing with Eis and Nuova. Tellingly, when Goku gets his energy back but ''not'' his sight, he beats Syn not long after.
* WorldsStrongestMan: Omega is the ''strongest'' Villain in [=GT's=] Canon, it takes the ridiculously overpowered Gogeta as a Super Saiyan 4 to really put a beatdown on him, and a Spirit Bomb powered by the entire ''universe'' to put an end to him.

The Two-Star Dragon that was created by the wish that revived Bora, Upa's father who was killed by Tao Pai Pai. He spreads pollution wherever he goes. His element is pollution.
----
* BondVillainStupidity: After his pollution weakens Goku and Pan to a manageable level, rather than simply kill them, he decides to throw Goku, Pan, and Giru into the lake and let the toxins within do it for him. Giru, who is unaffected by the pollution, manages to drag them to a freshwater geyser, which they blow up to clean the lake, ridding Haze of his only advantage and allowing Goku and Pan to take him down. Even though Haze had no way of knowing about the freshwater, that still wasn't exactly a smart move.
* BalloonBelly: Uses this once to help protect himself against Pan's assault. He stops using it after less than a minute.
* BreathWeapon:
* ButtMonkey: Even after his (surprisingly effective) ability is shown off, he's still not treated as a real threat. Before his toxins start taking effect, even Pan can curb-stomp him.
* DubNameChange: Originally Liang Xing Long.
* FunWithAcronyms: Haze starts with the 2nd letter in "S'''H'''ENRON".
* MakingASplash: Has the power of controlling polluted water and can gain energy from swamps. When the seven Dragons first manifest, he is represented by a giant one made of water.
* NotSoHarmlessVillain: At first looked completely weak, but then revealed that his pollution was weakening Goku and Pan. After enduring their attacks long enough for it to take effect, he nearly ''killed'' them.
* OneWingedAngel: Subverted. He ''looks'' like he's going to and the heroes expect it... but he then states that while some of the Shadow Dragons can, he can't.
* PoisonousPerson: The poisonous gases from his swamp can knock out even Goku.
* SmugSnake: He constantly gloats about his strength and declares himself a "true warrior" and "the star," but without the weakening effects of his pollution, he's no threat; Pan can easily beat the crap out of him by herself.
* StoneWall: His main strength is that he's able to soak up punishment until his pollution can weaken his enemy to the point he can overpower them.
* TailSlap: He can give his foes a good thrashing by swinging his tail like a flail.
* WarmUpBoss: Aside from his little trick, he's rather pathetic.

The Three-Star Dragon, created when Shenron revived all those killed by King Piccolo and his children. He's the twin brother of Nuova, not to mention his complete opposite, using any advantage to win a fight. He also has power over ice.
----
* AnIcePerson: Hence the name.
* ArmCannon: His strongest attack turn one of his arms into a cannon with the three-star ball on the bottom.
* BackstabBackfire: He actually does get a hit in on Goku in this, blinding him for his upcoming battle with Syn, but gets himself killed in the process.
* BluntYes: When an outraged Nuova realizes that Eis used him as a shield against Goku, Eis responds as such, before saying Nuova is no longer useful for such a thing.
* CainAndAbel: The Cain to Nuova's Abel.
* CantTakeCriticism: When Nuova criticizes him for using such cowardly tactics, Eis' immediate response is to [[TranquilFury calmly]] [[TheSlowWalk walk up to Nuova]] and beat him senseless while calling him a loser.
* CombatPragmatist: Using {{Human Shield}}s, freezing opponents solid, attacking them while they can't defend themselves, [[ISurrenderSuckers pretending to surrender]] before [[EyeScream going for the eyes]]... as Eis openly admits, he'll do ''anything'' to win.
-->'''Eis''': Dirty moves work better than clean ones.
* DidntSeeThatComing: He was expecting an easy win after blinding Goku, only to be utterly blindsided when Goku proves to be a HandicappedBadass and puts his fist through his chest.
* DirtyCoward: Perfectly willing to resort to using Pan and even ''his own brother'' as {{Human Shield}}s against Goku. On top of that, when Goku has him at his mercy, he goes from smug and arrogant to begging for mercy and pulls off an EyeScream when his guard is down.
* DubNameChange: Originally San Xing Long.
** FunWithAcronyms: Eis starts with the 3rd letter in "SH'''E'''NRON".
* EvilIsDeathlyCold: He controls ice, and is easily the evilest of the Shadow Dragons.
* EvilTwin: To Nuova.
* FireIceDuo: With his brother Nuova.
* HateSink: Eis has no redeeming qualities and goes out of his way to be as despicable as possible. He pummels his own brother, batters Pan bloody, uses both as {{Human Shield}}s, uses every dirty trick in the book to win a fight, and cowardly begs for his life only to pull off an ISurrenderSuckers and blind Goku. It's incredibly satisfying to watch Goku [[spoiler:completely obliterate him with the Dragon Fist]].
* ISurrenderSuckers: He pulls this off against Goku, begging for his life in exchange for giving up the three-star ball and going away forever... only to form icy WolverineClaws and [[EyeScream blind Goku]] before mocking him for falling for it.
-->'''Eis''': The trust you people put in a sniveling weasel is astonishing. Your body might be able to [[AdaptiveAbility learn my moves]], but your brain can't even see through a simple lie!
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: [[spoiler:On Goku's fist.]]
* {{Jerkass}}: He pulls every dirty trick in the book to win a fight, and has no qualms against beating on ''his own brother''.
* KickThemWhileTheyAreDown: After using Pan as a HumanShield, he throws her at Goku, and once he catches her, takes advantage of his dropped guard to stomp on Goku's back repeatedly. He gets several hits in before an outraged Goku catches his foot, gets right in his face about using his granddaughter against him, and then tosses him into a building.
* MeaningfulName: Eis is German for "Ice".
* SiblingYinYang: Nuova is a NobleDemon who avoids harming innocents and unfair advantages, while Eis is a DirtyCoward who literally does ''everything'' he can to win.
* TheSlowWalk: When Nuova is chewing him out for fighting dirty and butting in on his fight with Goku, Eis does this, getting right in Nuova's face before beating him up.
* SmugSnake: Acts like a big shot and is confident in his abilities, but he only manages to inflict any real damage to Goku by using dirty tactics, and he snivels and begs for his life the minute Goku has him at his mercy. Even after blinding Goku and, in his words, cutting his power in half, Eis is easily killed by Goku, who remarks [[HandicappedBadass his other senses are just as keen as his sight]].
* ThisCannotBe:
** He's taken aback when Goku manages to break out of being frozen and counter his ArmCannon attack near the end, insisting his ice ray is supposed to be impenetrable; Goku explains that [[AdaptiveAbility his body remembers and compensates attacks used on him]], so [[ItOnlyWorksOnce the same move won't work on him twice]].
--->'''Eis''': That's ridiculous!
** After blinding Goku, he expects an easy kill, having reduced him to half-power by the strike in his own words. Instead, Goku manages to turn and put his fist through Eis's gut mid-lunge]; Eis can only wheeze a pained "How?" in response, to which Goku responds that his other senses are just as good as his sight before unleashing the Dragon Fist to obliterate him.
* VilerNewVillain: In ''freaking spades'' compared to his brother Nuova. Nuova is a NobleDemon who [[LetsFightLikeGentlemen refuses to fight dirty]] or [[NeverHurtAnInnocent harm innocent people]], while Eis is a DirtyCoward and HateSink who [[CombatPragmatist pulls every dirty trick in the book to win a fight]], and even beats up Nuova for criticizing his tactics. Fittingly, while Nuova earns Goku's respect, Eis earns nothing but his disgust and contempt.
* VillainsWantMercy: As soon as Goku has him at his mercy, Eis frantically starts begging both him ''and'' Nuova for his life. Despite having ''every'' reason to just kill Eis considering the fact that among the [[CombatPragmatist dirty tricks]] Eis pulled during the fight was using Pan as a HumanShield, Goku decides to let him go on the grounds that he give him the three-star Dragon Ball and ''never'' show his face again. The minute Goku lets his guard down, Eis forms a set of icy WolverineClaws and uses them to [[EyeScream blind Goku]], bragging about how easily Goku fell for it; unfortunately for Eis, Goku, unhindered in the slightest by the loss of his eyesight, [[TorsoWithAView punches a hole through Eis' gut]] before completely obliterating him with a Dragon Fist.
* WouldHurtAChild: He beats Pan black-and-blue, and even uses her as a human shield against Goku.

The Four-Star Dragon, created when King Piccolo wished for his youth back. Unlike the other dragons, Nuova fights fairly and doesn't rely on dirty tricks. More than likely this is due to the fact that the four-star ball was a treasured heirloom of Goku's. May also have something to do with the fact that he is the only one of the dragons created from a wish by an evil being for an evil purpose, with evil consequences. He also has power over fire.
----
* AntiVillain: Type IV: He's only a villain because he's a Shadow Dragon and thus needed to be stopped, and other than that does not do anything villainous.
* BackForTheDead: [[spoiler:Briefly revived against Omega Shenron, only to get killed again.]]
* BondVillainStupidity: A heroic variant when he [[spoiler: decides to taunt Omega about his ability to survive the supernova he intends to kill him with. This gives Omega the bright idea to pull a GrandTheftMe, surviving the attack and killing Nuova as a result.]]
* BreakoutCharacter: One of the most featured of all the Shadow Dragons, only Syn/Omega is featured in games more than he is.
* CainAndAbel: He's the Abel to Eis's Cain.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Like all of his siblings, he's made of the negative energy that was equal and opposite to a wish. Since said negative energy was the equal and opposite reaction to a ''purely selfish'' wish, Nuova has an honorable, just personality and no real desire to be evil. Really, the only problem with his continuing life was that he can't control his heat, turning wherever he lives into a desert.
* DubNameChange: Originally Si Xing Long.
** FunWithAcronyms: Nuova starts with the 4th letter in "SHE'''N'''RON".
* EvilIsBurningHot: He controls fire, and generates heat so intense he's a WalkingWasteland. [[ZigzaggedTrope That being said]], he's the noblest of the Shadow Dragons and an AntiVillain.
* FireIceDuo: With his brother Eis.
* FlashStep: He can out-SuperSpeed both Goku and Vegeta at Super Saiyan 4.
* HeroicSacrifice: His first death was a result of taking a shot for Goku.
* LightEmUp: He can summon a giant lens and shoot a super hot sunray at his foes.
** HoistByHisOwnPetard: The same lens can also hurt him if something such as Solar Flare is used against him due to its power being amplified.
* IdiotBall: After his resurrection, he's about to incinerate Omega as part of his and Goku's plan, but his bragging about how he's fireproof gives Omega the idea to use Naturon's power of possession on him to reabsorb his Dragon Ball and survive the blast.
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler: After being revived and joining the Z-Fighters, Nuova is killed again after a failed attempt to take down Omega. Since he was a manifestation of the Four-Star ball, he doesn't seem to be among the characters revived by the final wish.]]
* LetsFightLikeGentlemen: Nuova is an honorable villain, refusing unfair advantages or any manner of stooping to desperate tactics no matter the situation.
* NeverHurtAnInnocent: After knocking Pan out, when Goku demands he put her down, Nuova does just that without a word and fights him, stating he won't hurt innocent people.
* NobleDemon: The only dragon not to resort to trickery to win.
* PlayingWithFire: His power revolves around fire, heat, and sunlight, which he uses with great skill.
* PowerLimiter: Shedding his armor causes his already formidable power and speed to skyrocket.[[note]]He goes from being around base Goku level to ''Super Saiyan 4 level'' [[/note]]
* SacrificialLion: He planned on continuing his fair fight with Goku for the ball... and then he ends up being killed from behind by Syn Shenron, proving just how ruthless Syn Shenron truly is.
* SaveTheVillain: Despite his disgust with Eis' [[CombatPragmatist dirty]] [[DirtyCoward tricks]] and believing he brought his beatdown by Goku's hands on himself, Nuova was willing to negotiate with Goku about sparing Eis's life, as a brother. Then Eis went and ruined it anyway.
* SiblingYinYang: With Eis. Nuova is a NobleDemon who avoids harming innocents and unfair advantages, while Eis is a DirtyCoward who literally does ''everything'' he can to win.
* SuperSpeed: Probably the fastest character in the franchise, being able to easily outspeed Goku and Vegeta.
* TakingTheBullet: After Syn tries to shoot the blind Goku after shooting Nuova InTheBack with his finger blast, he jumps in and shields Goku with his body, taking the second blast as well and dying.
* TokenGoodTeammate: The most honorable of the Shadow Dragons by a long shot.
* TooDumbToLive: His brilliant idea to taunt Omega before enacting his and Goku's plan ends with him dying a second time.
* WalkingWasteland: He's met in a desert-like city. His body is so hot that anything that makes contact with him is destroyed until he sheds his heat armor to fight at full power.

The Five-Star Dragon created when Master Roshi wished Goku back to life to combat the Saiyans. Starts off as rather puny but, using an electric slime, can grow to a much more massive form. His element is thunder.
----
* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: He grows giant by absorbing his electric slime when the tide starts going against him.
* AttackReflector: His own attacks barely even tickle a Super Saiyan 4, but he can reflect ki attacks right back to the source to compensate.
* BlobMonster: When he absorbs all the electrical slime to form his giant form.
* DubNameChange: Originally Wu Xing Long.
** FunWithAcronyms: Rage starts with the 5th letter in "SHEN'''R'''ON".
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Rain is bad for electricity, especially if you're too big to dodge...
* {{Kaiju}}: He can turn into one to overwhelm his foes.
* NearVillainVictory: He had Goku and Pan at death's door and more or less had completely defeated them. The only reason he lost was is that it started to rain and he short-circuited.
* ShockAndAwe: "Dragon Thunder!!"
* ISurrenderSuckers: Tries to use this to kill Pan.

The Six-Star Dragon, created (much to her chagrin) from Oolong's wish for woman's panties. She is the only female dragon of the seven. Fools a local fishing village into believing she was a sea princess named Princess Oto, but Goku and Pan reveal her true colors. Her element is wind (though she also controls water through it).
----
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: She's got blue skin.
* BerserkButton: ''Don't'' remind her of the wish that spawned her in the first place, ''then'' make fun of said wish as Goku did.
* BlowYouAway: She's a wind elemental and mostly employs a giant tornado to either fight or to collect massive amounts of fish from the ocean.
** RazorWind: "Whirlwind Spin!!"
* BishonenLine / OneWingedAngel: Much like Zarbon before her, she prefers to stay in a more aesthetically appealing form than her hideous true form. Subverted, however, in that she seems to be able to fight to her full power in this form anyway.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: She appears to be nice, but is just as evil as her brothers. This is because she was born from a wish that was selfish on the surface, but had underlying noble intentions.
* CuteMonsterGirl: She's certainly attractive. Her true form, however, brutally averts this.
* DesignatedGirlFight: Fights Goku to a standstill, but gets set up for the kill by a lucky Kamehameha from Pan, of all people.
* DubNameChange: Originally Liu Xing Long.
* {{Expy}}: Her disguise refers to the legend of Otohime and Ryuujin. In the Japanese sub, her name is actually Ryu-Shenron.
* FunWithAcronyms: Oceanus and Oto both start with the 6th letter in "SHENR'''O'''N".
* {{Gonk}}: Her true form and she even considers it such, as she prefers to stay in her disguised "Princess Oto" form instead.
* HiddenEvil: Created from a selfish wish with good intentions she comes offering prosperity to a sea town by bringing in lots of fish. Unfortunately, this destroys their economy and pollutes the land from the rotting fish.
* ALighterShadeOfBlack: Marginally less evil than most of the other Shadow Dragons, her actions being marginally less destructive as she gives a sea town fish, [[HiddenEvil but not only this destroys the fishing industry it also pollutes the land with rotting fish]]. The only reason why she fought Goku and Pan is that Goku made fun of the wish that spawned her, pressing her BerserkButton.
* LuminescentBlush: Her entire face turns bright red out of embarrassment, twice. Once when Goku [[BerserkButton presses the issue of her origin]], forcing her to admit she was born from the panties wish, and again after realizing her attack inflicted full ClothingDamage upon Goku (out of [[PleasePutSomeClothesOn angry disgust]], not the usual application of this trope).
* MakingASplash: Mostly due to the fact that she uses wind to manipulate seawater.
* MythologyGag: Introduced antagonizing a village when the wish that birthed her was done by Oolong who was also introduced antagonizing a village.
* MeaningfulName: Oceanus was the name of a titan of Myth/GreekMythology with domain over the sea, appropriate for someone claimed as being able to bring fish to the town. Her Alias, Princess Oto as well as a reading of her original name, are a nod to the mythological Ryuujin, the Dragon God who rules the ocean, and Otohime, the daughter of Ryuujin and supposed ancestor of the Imperial bloodline.
* NoblewomansLaugh: She laughs like this every now and then.
* OldShame: InUniverse. She is completely embarrassed by the wish that spawned her, and Goku recalling said wish fondly and laughing about it sets off her BerserkButton.
* SpamAttack: To the point that Goku asks if she even knows any other moves.
* SquishyWizard: Almost exclusively fights with her wind/water attacks, and is one of the two Shadow Dragons beaten by a base Goku.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: The only female of the Shadow Dragons, the wish of origin (used to get some panties) might have something to do with that. Worth noticing though that at least in the original dub, her true form has a masculine voice to go along with the appearance.
* WingedHumanoid: Her true form is actually the one of an ugly, winged, gargoyle-like dragon.

The Seven-Star Dragon, created when Bulma wished back the people Vegeta killed while under the influence of Babidi. He's a mole-like dragon that has the ability to absorb any person and make their power his own. His element is earth.
----
* AnthropicPrinciple: Absorbing a mere mole made him a {{kaiju}} threat-level. Absorbing Pan made him exponentially more powerful again, but if he successfully [[GodzillaThreshold claimed Goku instead]], the ''GT'' saga would've ended here.
* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: His true form is utterly puny, however.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: When Pan and Goku find him, he's initially seemingly harmless and not doing anything out of malicious intent, but because he just doesn't notice what he's doing is harming others. It's only when he starts making a move and taunting Goku and Pan is it clear he's cruel and evil.
* ClimaxBoss: Marks the transition from the less serious first half of the saga to the more serious second act, and is the first dragon to last more than one episode and pose an actual threat.
* DirtyCoward: When Goku prepares to steel his heart and [[ShootTheDog blast him while Pan's absorbed]], Naturon goes from smug to desperately trying to beg him not to fire, only regaining his cool when it turns out Goku subconsciously held back the attack and just injured him. When he loses Pan, he immediately attempts to absorb a bird for a power-up and tries to beg for his life again before shooting Goku with a surprise attack. Goku has enough by that point and proceeds to brutalize Naturon before blowing him away with a Kamehameha x10.
* DishingOutDirt: Can cause earthquakes by digging and his attacks can summon pillars of light from the ground.
* DubNameChange: Originally Qi Xing Long.
* FunWithAcronyms: Naturon starts with the 7th letter in "SHENRO'''N'''".
* HateSink: After he drops the moron act Naturon proves to be one of the most despicable of the Shadow Dragons, using an innocent helpless mole as a diversion from Goku's and Pan's attack, absorbing Pan when she is caught off guard and using her as a bargaining chip to try and shield himself from Goku's attacks, panics when Goku appears to gain the resolve to MercyKill Pan and defeat Naturon, then mocks him when Goku is unable to truly go with it. Even after Goku saves Pan from him, he attempts to make a cowardly getaway by absorbing a bird before Goku stops him. It all serves to make his final defeat by getting pummeled and humiliated then vaporized by Goku all the sweeter.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: The above-mentioned pillar of light attack, though he did it on purpose. See ObfuscatingStupidity below. He ends up defeated for real, though, when his attempt at mocking Goku by showing him Pan one last time gives Goku a chance to pull Pan out and finish him off.
* ISurrenderSuckers: How he absorbs Pan. He has less luck with Goku who turns his trick against him to rescue Pan instead.
* JackassGenie: He brings up his technical status as a wish-granting dragon up to a battered and beaten Goku, [[LastRequest in a chilling way]]. It ends up not working out so well for him, though.
* {{Kaiju}}: Whenever he absorbs something, he grows giant. The bigger and stronger his absorbed victim is, the larger and more monstrous he gets.
* KillMeNowOrForeverStayYourHand: When Goku initially holds back out of fear of killing the absorbed Pan, Naturon mocks him, daring him to finish him off now or never bother him again. Of course, he's only doing it because he's convinced Goku [[YouWouldntShootMe simply doesn't have the heart to kill him with Pan absorbed]], and he completely loses his cool and begs for his life the instant it looks like he's going to do it.
* KnightOfCerebus: The first three dragons were all silly jokes of a battle, and the last three are all rather serious. Naturon sits in the middle and begins the fight just as quirky as the first three before shifting to a deadly serious tone after revealing his trump card.
* MagikarpPower: In his unpowered state he's the most pathetic and weakest of the Dragons capable of only producing ineffective ki blasts, but simply absorbing a mole puts him above half of them; when he absorbs Pan he becomes even stronger and would've gained even more power by absorbing Goku if his plans had succeeded.
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: After ripping Pan out of him and preventing him from absorbing a bird, Goku beats the ever-living shit out of Naturon before wiping him out with a Kamehameha 10X.
* NotSoHarmlessVillain: He initially appears to be a clown who is more interested in digging holes rather than fighting, but as soon as he absorbs Pan, he shows his true colors and starts using Pan's powers to blow up numerous buildings and kill several innocents for fun. If he hadn't fallen for Goku's WoundedGazelleGambit, he would have won for sure.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: He's actually smarter than he looks, first acting like a PunchClockVillain who's only destroying out of misguided curiosity before dropping the act. Then feigning defeat through his own technique and reverting to a Dragon Ball form to have a shot at absorbing Pan. After that he no longer plays any moronic tropes and shows his full cunning and vileness.
* OneWingedAngel: After absorbing Pan, he turns into a larger, more vicious version of himself.
* PowerCopying: He uses the Kamehameha after absorbing Pan.
* SmugSnake: Upon absorbing Pan, Naturon takes great pleasure in taunting Goku and trying to egg him on into killing him, convinced that Goku won't do anything to cause him serious harm while Pan's inside of him. He sings an entirely different tune the very ''second'' it looks like Goku actually will.
* StoryBreakerPower: His absorption/copying ability is superior to that of even Majin Buu and Baby; absorbing a mere Earth mole let him fight on par with Goku and Pan, only being "defeated" because [[ObfuscatingStupidity he let them]], when he absorbs Pan he gives a decent challenge to SSJ Goku and the latter needs [=SSJ4=] to overwhelm him; had he absorbed Goku successfully no one would've been able to stop him.
* VillainBall: He falls for Goku's WoundedGazelleGambit near the end of their fight after he's managed to overwhelm and pin him down for one final blow and shows him Pan mockingly... giving Goku the perfect chance to save Pan, depower then take him out.

* FantasticRacism: Funimation's dub gives him a hatred for humans, as he tells Goku Jr. why he's going to kill him.
* GenericDoomsdayVillain: Particularly in the original Japanese version, when compared to the trio of Mamba, Susha, and Torga. The dub gives him a hatred for humans which barely brings him out of this.

* AccentAdaptation: Susha is given a heavy cockney voice in the Funimation dub. Courtesy of London-born Peter Mayhew (yes, ''[[Franchise/StarWars that]]'' Peter Mayhew) who had been living in the U.S. since 2005 after being naturalized there.
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: Mamba has blue skin.
* BerserkButton: Mamba gets quite peeved when her hair gets cut by Puck.
* CuteWitch: Mamba is rather cute for a witch.
* DisproportionateRetribution: Mamba vows to follow and kill Goku Jr. and Puck after the latter cuts her hair, this is slightly downplayed as she was already planning on killing them.
* EvilBrit: Susha is given a thick cockney accent in the Funimation dub, performed by [[Creator/PeterMayhew Chewbacca]] himself.
* EvilRedhead: Mamba has orange hair.
* EvilSorceress: Mamba uses her magic to eat humans.
* {{Expy}}: Mamba seems to be a combination of two earlier female villains, Princess Snake and Zangya. She has the looks of the latter but behaves more like the former.
* FatalFlaw: Mamba cares a lot about her looks, Goku Jr. and Puck both use this to their advantage.
* FeatheredFiend: Torga appears to be a hen.
* ImAHumanitarian: After Mamba lures in Puck and Goku Jr. she plans to cook and eat them.
* MinionShipping: Torga briefly comforts Mamba on her shorter hair after it was cut, much to her surprise. Susha briefly calls them lovebirds in the Funimation dub before snapping them back to chase after Goku Jr.
* PrehensileHair: Mamba is able to extend her hair to attack.
* ReptilesAreAbhorrent: Susha's design seems to invoke this, resembling a lizard with some frog-like traits.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: All three book it when Goku Jr. goes Super Saiyan and defeats Lord Yao.
