[[folder:The Pilot]]
[[quoteright:175:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ddpsdoj-pilot_8654.png]]
->"I will not think about this. I am of the [=DonPachi=] Corps. [[StealthPun I fly like a bee from the orders of my leaders]]."

The Pilot is the PlayerCharacter. The Pilot is not portrayed in official art until ''Saidaioujou'', where they are dressed in a purple bodysuit with a purple helmet.
----
* AcePilot: The only reason why in every single game, [[ItsUpToYou the Pilot is singled out]] to destroy whatever attacking force the [=DonPachi=] Corps is up against.
* BlindObedience: Piloting skills aside, this is the ''only'' outstanding trait of the Pilot: their willingness to follow the orders of the [=DonPachi=] Corps without question. [[spoiler:Deconstructed and exploited in ''[=DoDonPachi=]'', where the Pilot was manipulated into committing genocide against the entire human race because of this trait]].
** In [=DaiFukkatsu=], when [[spoiler: Colonel Longhena announces his plan to take over the world of the past, the player has the option to peaceably walk away and just let him. In the Xbox 360 translation, the option to do so is even phrased "Not at all, sir, it was an honor serving with you"!]] It's entirely possible the only reason the pilot even has the option is because [[spoiler: Colonel Longhena]] specifically asked it as a question instead of giving an order.
* FreudianExcuse: Their unquestioning loyalty and obedience is implied to be the result of the extreme conditioning applied to all [=DonPachi=] Corps members, which as shown in the first game includes knowingly slaughtering your own allies so that [[TheSocialDarwinist the strongest can thrive]].
* TheEveryman: The Pilot's BlindObedience to the [=DonPachi=] Corps defines them as much as their ability to fly a CoolPlane through walls of bullets.
* FeaturelessProtagonist: Cave has never released any official art of the Pilot until ''Saidaioujou''...and even then, the Pilot's true appearance is hidden by the full helmet and bodysuit they wear. The only characteristics that can be gathered from whatever official art Cave has released of the Pilot is that they have a flat chest and are apparently quite tall.
* ItsUpToYou: Very darkly invoked in ''[=DoDonPachi=]''. [[spoiler: You're the only one able to stop Longhena... because Longhena had you ''kill everyone else who COULD oppose him.'']]
* TheMaster: The Element Dolls in ''[=SaiDaiOuJou=]'' refer to the Pilot as this.
* OneManArmy: Nothing can stop the Pilot from fulfilling their orders. ''Nothing''.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: The Pilot is always addressed as "Master" by the Element Doll flying with them. Very rarely (if at all) is the Pilot addressed by any other name by anyone else.
* PlayTheGameSkipTheStory: [[invoked]] [[DeconstructedTrope Deconstructed]]. As he states in the ending, he's only interested in carrying out his orders with outstanding results, and does not care about the implications of the actions he's ordered to commit, [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything in a manner similar to those who play games only to complete gameplay objectives and ignore story elements.]]
* PurpleIsPowerful: Wears a full-body purple bodysuit with a matching full helmet in ''Saidaioujou'' and is an AcePilot.
* ShoutOut: In ''Saidaioujou'', they bear a passing resemblance to [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion EVA-01]].
* TomatoSurprise: In ''[=DonPachi=]'', after clearing the first loop, he reveals that his training involves [[spoiler:the ordered slaughter of his fellow military forces.]]
* UnwittingPawn: Because he's [[BlindObedience blindly obedient]], [[PlayTheGameSkipTheStory never questions anything]], and is ''[[AcePilot really damn good]]'' [[OneManArmy at what he does]], any EvilPlan that involves manipulating the Pilot is going to be ''wildly successful''.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Operator]]
[[quoteright:153:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ddpsdoj-operator_4122.png]]
-> "3, 2, 1, GO!"
-> '''Voiced by:''' Eriko Yamana (''[=DaiFukkatsu=]''), Creator/AsamiShimoda (''[=SaiDaiOuJou=]'')

The Operator has never been named anything other than "Operator" although in ''[=SaiDaiOuJou=]'' she at least has a face. In ''[=DonPachi=]'' and ''Daioujou'', the operator was a very excited man.
----
* AnnouncerChatter
* DangerDeadpan: In the English dub, her [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yr-OLZmKZ_I&t=1m57s response]] to [[spoiler:[[FinalBoss Colonel Longhena]] marking the transport ship you're on for destruction]] is a lot more stoic than her Japanese-language counterpart. ''Even when [[spoiler:a huge laser strikes the ship.]]''
* GratuitousEnglish:
--> "Jumpu Gaato karade masu!"
--> "Bombu, stocku desu!"
--> "Extendo shimashita!"
--> "OK, goodo lucku!"
* MissionControl: Serves as one for the Pilot.
* VerbalTic: "Just a couple more shots desu!"
* VoiceWithAnInternetConnection
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Hibachi]]
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dodonpachi_hibachi_regeneration_chamber_1712.JPG]]

The ultimate weapon of the enemy robot forces, it is a gigantic bee that can shoot out a lot of bullets. Pictured to the right is not Hibachi itself, but rather Kouryuu, its regeneration chamber in ''[=DaiOuJou=]'' since Hibachi is actually too small to get an accurate image of (since it would be covered in bullets and lasers half as large as itself). A prototype of Hibachi called Taisabachi first appeared in ''[=DonPachi=]'' as the TrueFinalBoss, and was considerably larger than Hibachi would be in ''[=DoDonPachi=]'' and beyond.
----
* AnimalisticAbomination: Hibachi is equal parts this trope and MechanicalAbomination. It's an unimaginably powerful, intelligent weapon of mass destruction in the shape of a [[BigCreepyCrawlies huge]] [[BeeAfraid bee]].
* AlternateCharacterReading: In ''[=DaiOuJou=]'' the characters of its name are written to be "Scarlet Bee" [[spoiler: and in ''[=SaiDaiOuJou=]'' it's "Solar Bee"]]
* BeeAfraid: Really, what could be worse than a mechanical bee that fires an obscene amount of bullets?
* BishounenLine: [[DownplayedTrope Sort of.]] Hibachi always appears first as a massive battleship, shaped vaguely like a bee... but after blowing it to hell, the much smaller, much more beelike, and ''[[PersonOfMassDestruction much more powerful]]'' robot erupts from the exploding vessel.
* DefeatMeansPlayable: In the mobile port of ''[=DaiFukkatsu=]'', reaching and defeating it on a single credit will allow you to play as it in arrange mode. You can also unlock it through a cheat code, but [[NoFairCheating you must input the code every time you want to play as it]], while unlocking it the hard way makes the unlock permanent.
* TheDragon: To [[spoiler: Colonel Longhena.]]
* {{Foil}}: To The Pilot; They're both incredibly talented warriors who shoot first, ask questions never, and refuse to stop until the mission is completed. The key difference is that Hibachi is a literal war machine who can't even fathom anything else (excluding its iteration in Saidaioujou).
* GenericDoomsdayVillain: Hibachi has no real goals of its own; it's simply a ''very'' effective weapon of mass destruction.
* IncendiaryExponent: In ''[=DoDonPachi=]'' and other games, where it uses flaming bullets.
* JokerImmunity: No matter how many times the Pilot blows Hibachi to smithereens, it's back and [[BulletHell flooding the screen]] by the end of the next game.
* KillerRobot: It is considered the ultimate weapon of the enemy forces for a good reason!
* {{Leitmotif}}: Hibachi has quite a few, actually.
** [[https://youtu.be/TIQj92WAl-I "Deep Red Bee" from Daioujou,]] a high-paced, heart-pounding theme that is sure to remind you that you've unleashed hell. The [[https://youtu.be/arCl_d36QJ8 PS2 Arrange]] adds the background sound of an angry, buzzing bee.
** [[https://youtu.be/ahdbbbIbAgk "]-[34(#!" from Resurrection]], complete with indistinct, chaotic rapping all throughout.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9MC8kKTPlM "Mercilessness" from Resurrection Black Label.]] This is a boss theme that wants to kill you ''before the boss has a chance.''
* MeaningfulName: Its name is always pronounced the same, but due to AlternateCharacterReading in different games it variously means things like "Scarlet Bee", "Fire Bee", or "Solar Bee".
* MechanicalAbomination: Hibachi is equal parts this trope and AnimalisticAbomination. It's ungodly powerful, but the fact remains that it was ''built''.
* NoSell: If you fire a bomb or otherwise go invincible, it will simply raise a barrier to make itself also invulnerable until your invincibility wears off.
* PaletteSwap: The (non-canon) Zatsuza in ''[=DoDonPachi DaiFukkatsu=]''.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: Its entire purpose being a weapon to eradicate humanity. [[BulletHell It certainly has the firepower to make that happen.]]
* PintsizedPowerhouse: When compared to the other bosses Hibachi is tiny. [[PersonOfMassDestruction Don't]] [[AnimalisticAbomination let]] [[MechanicalAbomination that]] [[BulletHell fool]] [[TrueFinalBoss you.]]
* RestrainingBolt: In Dodonpachi, Daioujou and Resurrection, Hibachi is contained inside a much bigger bee-shaped machine. Kouryuu in DDP and Daioujou, and ''"Golden Disaster"'' in Resurrection.
* SecretCharacter: In ''[=DaiFukkatsu iPhone=]'' (a.k.a. ''[=DoDonPachi Resurrection=]'')
* TransformingMecha: In ''[=DaiFukkatsu=]'', she assumes a humanoid form for its final phase. In ''[=Saidaioujou=]'' it's the other way around: start as a human, end as a bee.
* TrueFinalBoss: In all games in which it appears. There may have been others before it, but Hibachi is one of the [[TropeCodifier defining examples]] of this trope in the danmaku genre.
* WarmUpBoss: Believe it or not, Hibachi's container from DDP, Kouryuu, shows up as this at the very beginning of ''[=DoDonPachi=] II''.
* WeCanRebuildHim: The plot of ''[=DaiOuJou=]'' is that it was being rebuilt after it was destroyed in ''[=DoDonPachi=]''. [[spoiler:It returns yet again in ''[=DaiFukkatsu=]'' as, once again, the tool of Colonel Longhena.]]
[[/folder]]

!!Introduced in ''[=DoDonPachi=]''
[[folder:Colonel Schwarlitz Longhena]]
!!Colonel Schwarlitz Longhena[[note]]His surname is sometimes written in English as ''Longhener'', due to a translation error.[[/note]]
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/longhener_4618.png]]
->"Finally, it is time for you to die. Farewell."

The mysterious commander of the [=DonPachi=] Corps in ''[=DoDonPachi=]''.
----
* AxCrazy: [[spoiler:He reveals to you with a rather sadistic joy that you massacred a fleet that defected from the [=DonPachi=] Corps, and that he led you into killing them while informing you they were alien invaders. The way he gloats to you about it tells you he must be some kind of ColonelKilgore.]]
* BigBad: As the guy commanding the enemy forces, generally including Hibachi itself, he is this for [=DoDonPachi=].
* CatchPhrase: ''Shinu ga yoi.'' (lit. "Dying is good" or "Now you can die"). Basically a very "polite" and formal way to tell someone to "Die!" in Japanese. [[spoiler:It serves as {{Foreshadowing}} for his true personality]].
* ClaspYourHandsIfYouDeceive: He always sits at his desk with his hands and fingers intertwined. [[spoiler:He was secretly responsible for crimes of attempted genocide of nearly the entire human race, which he manipulated the Pilot into doing for him]].
* FauxAffablyEvil: [[spoiler: He tends to act polite towards the player, even after sending his squadron to kill the player after the player had unwittingly killed his own allies.]]
* JustBetweenYouAndMe: In ''[=DoDonPachi=]'', [[spoiler:he tells the player about his plans and motivations before releasing Hibachi.]]
* KnightTemplar: [[spoiler:He seems to believe that humanity is flawed and the world is suffering because of them, so he secretly directed the Pilot into massacring ''all of them'']].
* GreaterScopeVillain: [[spoiler: Dies in the ending of [=DoDonPachi=], but his legacy lives on via the remnant of his mechanized forces in [=DaiOuJou=] and the machinations of his descendant Godwin in [=DaiFukkatsu=].]]
* HateSink: Given how unnervingly gleeful he seems upon telling you that you murdered all your comrades, it's easy to tell that he was created to be a despised, loathsome character.
* ManBehindTheMan: [[spoiler:He is responsible for the war which devastates the world, making it look like an attack of killer robots.]]
* ManipulativeBastard: [[spoiler:He was responsible for directing the Pilot into slaughtering his fellow soldiers, taking advantage of the Pilot's BlindObedience for his own ends and to rid himself of anyone who wants to foil his schemes]].
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: [[spoiler:After the Pilot kills him and destroys Hibachi, it's revealed that by destroying the lost fleet, Longhena's special forces, and a great portion of the [=DonPachi=] Corps, the failure of his insane plan to kill everyone solved an overpopulation crisis due to how many the Pilot killed on his mission.]]
* OmnicidalManiac: [[spoiler: Seeks to eradicate the human race.]]
* SeeYouInHell: In ''[=DoDonPachi=]'', [[spoiler:he bids you as much when he sends you off to be killed by his special forces]].
* TheSocialDarwinist: [[spoiler:The only reason why people like the Pilot are able to live under his command was because he was the strongest out of them all]].
* ThisIsUnforgivable: In [=DoDonPachi=] he states this [[spoiler:when you defeat his [[HardModeFiller Special Forces]] and before he summons [[TrueFinalBoss Hibachi]]]].
--> "You know, what you've done to me is unforgivable. I'll punish you myself and see to it that you'll die a miserable death with my awesome weapon. Die, maggots."
* TreacherousAdvisor: Served as the Pilot's [[BigGood commander]]. [[spoiler:Ordered the Pilot to commit genocide on humanity itself under the belief that it'll solve the world's problems]].
* VillainousBreakdown: Undergoes a pretty spectacular one before the final boss battle of [=DoDonPachi=], going from his usual [[FauxAffablyEvil politeness]] to calling the pilot a "maggot" who will "die a miserable death" for opposing him.
* WalkingSpoiler: He's presented as the hero's commander, but is actually the BigBad manipulating them into devastating humanity.
* WhamLine: At the end of ''[=DoDonPachi=]''[='=]s first loop, if the second loop has been unlocked. Well, not Wham Line so much as an entire Wham ''Speech''.
--> [[spoiler:"That was a good fight! You should be commended... '''Psych! You're dead meat!!''' Enemies you've been fighting against, supposedly 'Mechanized Aliens', were actually. our (sic) guys, the missing battlefleet you learned about in the academy. [[UnwittingPawn You were killing our guys without knowing it!]] [[ManipulativeBastard But I planned that all along!]] And your death...would be a nice finishing touch to my whole scheme. My [[HardModeFiller special forces]] are the best of the best and they will be welcoming you with fierce fier (sic) power. SeeYouInHell!"]]
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: In ''[=DoDonPachi=]'', [[spoiler:after having you [[UnwittingPawn unwittingly wipe out your own comrades]], he sends his special forces (i.e. the second loop) to have you destroyed as part of his scheme.]]
[[/folder]]

!!Introduced in ''[=DoDonPachi=] [=DaiOuJou=]''
[[folder: Elemental Dolls]]

Sentient androids created for the purpose of optimizing the destructive abilities of [=DonPachi=] Corps ships. For some reason, they possess the appearance of human women...
----
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Shotia and Leinyan are reprogrammed into the villainous Shooty and Ray'n in [=DaiFukkatsu=]. Arguably Exy as well; she did turn evil as a direct result of an external force entering her mind.
* DarkSecret: At the core of one for the entire world government: [[spoiler: they ''aren't'' RobotGirls, but human women who've been converted into cyborgs and had their memories and personalities wiped via inhuman experiments.]]
* RobotGirl: Battle androids possessing the appearances of human women.
* SuperpoweredRobotMeterMaids: [[InvertedTrope Inverted]], they're military machines that appear as cute girls in [[ElegantGothicLolita goth loli getups]] or [[AnimeChineseGirl China dresses]]. Played straight in [=DaiFukkatsu=], in which they're being used for things like elder care while still being strong enough to serve as bullet hell bosses.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:[=DFSD=]-010 Shotia & Shooty]]
[[quoteright:278:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/DoDonPachi_DaiOuJou_Shotia_Art_Cropped_5574.JPG]]
-> '''Voiced by:''' Yuzuki Asakura

She was a playable character in ''Dai Ou Jou'' focusing on shot power and quantity of bombs. She returns in the form of Shooty as the boss of stage 5 of ''Dai Fukkatsu'', now many times more powerful than ever before. She is described as being pure and faithful - formerly to her human pilot, and now in her obedience to Next EXY.
----
%%* CreepyDoll
* ElegantGothicLolita: Like the other girls of the ''[=DonPachi=] series, she is dressed in elegant Victorian clothing.
* EmotionlessGirl: [[spoiler:Except when she is left with her last human memories as her memory is being wiped in ''Dai Ou Jou''.]]
* HumongousMecha: As Shooty in ''Dai Fukkatsu''.
* KillerRobot: She was designed solely for combat, and becomes even more killer as Shooty.
* MeaningfulName: In ''Dai Ou Jou'', she is the Shot type.
* OjouRinglets: It's a little hard to see, but her folder image shows that her hair is styled in these kinds of ringlets.
* ParasolOfPrettiness: One piece of artwork for [=DoDonPachi DaiOuJou Black Label EXTRA=] shows her carrying one of these, going with the whole gothloli fashion.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:[=DFSD=]-014 Leinyan & Ray'n]]
[[quoteright:315:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/DoDonPachi_DaiOuJou_Leinyan_Art_7143.JPG]]
-> '''Voiced by:''' Mizuki Yamaguchi

She was a playable character in ''Dai Ou Jou'' focusing on laser power. She returns in the form of Ray'n as the boss of stage 4 of ''Dai Fukkatsu'', still focusing on laser attacks. Once again she returns in ''Dai Fukkatsu'' in Arrange Mode A as Leinyan as she was in ''Dai Ou Jou''.
----
* AllLovingHero: She was programmed with a unique ability to feel love because she was designed by an anti-war faction. This leads her to develop romantic feelings for her own pilot, to the point of [[spoiler: escaping her research facility to reunite with them after the war]]. Then in the Arrange A ending of [=DaiFukkatsu=] she manages to [[spoiler: save humanity from the events of the last two games by simply talking to the BigBad.]]
* BeamSpam: As a boss in ''Dai Fukkatsu'', going with the fact that she was the Ray / Laser type in ''Dai Ou Jou''.
* ChineseGirl: She wears a stereotypical chinese dress, and one piece of artwork for [=DoDonPachi DaiOuJou Black Label EXTRA=] shows her serving dim sum at the mess hall.
%%* CreepyDoll
* HumongousMecha: As Ray'n in ''Dai Fukkatsu''
* InterspeciesRomance: [[spoiler:Her ending in ''[=DaiOuJou=]'' shows she has truly and emotionally become attached to her pilot, who she cannot bear being away from and defies the odds to be with him.]]
* KillerRobot: As Ray'n.
* MeaningfulName: In ''Dai Ou Jou'' she is the Ray / Laser type.
* ShowSomeLeg: She wears a stereotypical Chinese dress which exposes her legs.
* ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend: She was originally designed for peace and to protect, but her programming was changed into this. [[spoiler: In her ending in ''Dai Ou Jou'', she has to be forcefully pulled away from her pilot, and even THEN.....]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:[=FSD=]-002 Exy & Next [=EXY=]]]
[[quoteright:340:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/DoDonPachi_DaiOuJou_Exy_Art_Smaller_2005.JPG]]
-> '''Voiced by:''' Ryo Terashima

She was a playable character in ''Dai Ou Jou'' being excellent at both shot and laser power but having the fewest number of bombs. She returns in the form of Next EXY as the boss of stage 2 of ''Dai Fukkatsu'', physically now the weakest of the original Element Dolls. She is responsible for rebuilding the killer robot army and traveling back in time to 2008.
----
* BigBad: Of [=DaiFukkatsu=]. [[spoiler: Colonel Longhena [[BigBadEnsemble takes advantage of her attack for his own ends]]]], but her evil plan was 100% her own.
* BlackBraAndPanties: Her dismantled robot body in her folder image is dressed in these items.
* CoolShades: One piece of artwork for ''[=DoDonPachi DaiOuJou Black Label EXTRA=]'' shows her wearing these.
%%* CreepyDoll
* FanDisservice: ''Look at that picture!'' She's a very curvy girl, wearing a highly revealing and sensual outfit... but [[BlankWhiteEyes she has a cold, dead stare]] and is ''[[{{BodyHorror}} being ripped apart.]]''
* GoMadFromTheRevelation: In her ending she takes the full data flow of Hibachi's computer network, which drives her insane enough to strangle her own pilot to death and commit the events of [=DaiFukkatsu=]
* FaceHeelTurn: Starting as an assistant to the pilot, in her ending she turns and kills them, then goes on to become the BigBad of [=DaiFukkatsu=].
* HumansAreBastards: After getting all of Hibachi's data forcibly crammed into her head, implied to include Colonel Longhena's crimes, she comes to the conclusion that "the true enemy had been humanity all along." [[spoiler: Even so, her programming still compelled her to defend them [[WellIntentionedExtremist in her own way.]]]]
* HumongousMecha: As Next EXY.
* KillerRobot: As Next EXY. [[spoiler:Before that, she choked her human pilot to death.]]
* MeaningfulName: In ''Dai Ou Jou'' she is best used by '''Ex'''pert players due to the fact that she has both Shot & Laser power, but has the fewest number of bombs.
%%* {{Stripperiffic}}
%%* TearsOfBlood
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Her evil plan in [=DaiFukkatsu=] is to [[spoiler: destroy the [=DonPachi=] Corps before they can appoint [[BigBad Colonel Longhena]] as commander. [[StableTimeLoop Unfortunately...]]]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:PFSD-015 Piper]]
[[quoteright:235:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/DoDonPachi_DaiOuJou_Extra_Piper_2386.JPG]]

She is introduced in ''[=DoDonPachi DaiOuJou Black Label EXTRA=]'' and is focused on being able to gain Hyper items more often. On the other hand, she starts with no bombs and her Hyper mode has a shorter duration. She is a prototype for a planned mass-production run of Element Dolls. Her programming is incomplete and her emotions are not fully developed. She only learned how to smile when her pilot smiled.
----
%%* BlackBraAndPanties
* CleavageWindow: Almost literally a window.
* CreepyChild: While a robotic Element Doll, she has this appearance thanks to her young physical age, her pigtails and lolita-style clothing, and that emotionless smile.
%%* CreepyDoll
* EmotionlessGirl: The smile she puts on is inauthentic; her emotions are actually undeveloped.
* GirlishPigtails: Her hair is held up in a pair of short pigtails.
* KillerRobot: She is designed solely for combat.
* MeaningfulName: Her name is supposed to rhyme with "Hyper," her specialty.
* MythologyGag: She has a number of things in common with [[VideoGame/{{Deathsmiles}} Casper]].
* RobotGirl: An Element Doll [[KillerRobot designed only for combat]].
%%* SlasherSmile

[[folder: Elemental Daughters]]
Modified Elemental Dolls created by Exy, who herself became an example, modifying herself into the Elemental Daughter Next [=EXY=]. Under Next [=EXY=]'s command, the Elemental Daughters travel six years into the past and rebel against humanity.
----
* BrainwashedandCrazy: All of them were reprogrammed by Next [=EXY=]. Even [=EXY=] herself could be an example; she ''did'' turn evil as a direct result of code from Hibachi's computer entering her mind.
* FaceHeelTurn: All of them used to be good – or at least, loyal – but it particularly stands out with Shooty, Ray'n, and Next [=EXY=], who were partnered with the player last game.
* {{Fembot}}: More robot then they were as Elemental Dolls, but still recognizably female.
* HumongousMecha: They aren't human scale anymore!
* MeaningfulRename: No longer "dolls" because they're acting against their former owners.
* TransformingMecha: All of the ones fought in game can transform.
[[/folder]]

-> '''Voiced by:''' Shizuka Tsuji

She is the poster girl for ''Dai Fukkatsu'' and has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXhSYYsN26w white pantsu]]. Her original design was intended to assist senior citizens and make humans feel more comfortable. She is now the boss of ''Dai Fukkatsu'' stage 1.
----
* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: She is depicted this way in some of the official artwork, stomping around Tokyo, being shot at with little effect, and crushing the Don Pachi ships in her hand.
%%* {{Joshikousei}}
* KillerRobot: Averted with her original design, which was to assist senior citizens and help humans feel comfortable.
* {{Expy}}: She resembles [[VideoGame/CommandAndConquerRedAlert3 Yuriko Omega]].
* MeaningfulName: Her name can mean either "Artificial Intelligence" or just be an ordinary Japanese name.
* RidiculouslyHumanRobots: What does she need white pantsu for? [[http://www.solarisjapan.com/product_images/q/943/dodonpachi_daifukkatsu_black_label_soundtrack__56427_std.jpg Why does she need to tie her hair?]]

-> "Wait! I'm changing my clothes!"
-> '''Voiced by:''' Saki Ogasawara

The boss of ''Dai-Fukkatsu'' stage 3, she supposedly has the highest potential power out of all the Element Daughters.
----
* AIIsACrapshoot: She developed her speech and behavior patterns on her own.
* BespectacledCutie: An adorable-looking robot maid who wears huge glasses.
%%* DefeatEqualsExplosion
* GenkiGirl: Her intro quote lets you know she is very... hyper.

%%* HumongousMecha

The descendant of Colonel Schwarlitz Longhena, he follows in his ancestor's footsteps as the commander of the [=DonPachi=] Corps. Initially writing off the spatiotemporal anomalies due to their lack of immediate harm, he is quick to act when he discoveres they are being used to change the past.
----
* AffablyEvil: Praises the pilot for defeating the Elemental Daughters before announcing his plans to take over the world, and even [[LastChanceToQuit gives them a chance to peacefully return to the future]]. Unlike his ancestor, he never undergoes any sort of foul-mouthed VillainousBreakdown, making him sound much less [[FauxAffablyEvil fake]].
* BigBad: [[SarcasmMode Surprise]]! Following in his ancestor's footsteps, he seeks to create a "new order" by deliberately allowing Next [=EXY=] to soften up the world so he can conquer it in the past and rewrite history, sacrificing countless numbers of his own men in the process.
* ClaspYourHandsIfYouDeceive: Like his ancestor, he appears to be physically incapable of not doing this.
* IdenticalGrandfather: He looks so much like his ancestor Colonel Schwarlitz that for a long time this very page thought they were the same person!
* KarmaHoudini: In the [[GoldenEnding Arrange A end]], he still becomes a general and faces no consequences for the crimes [[RetGone he retroactively didn't commit]], despite continuing to express belief in his "new world".
* LastChanceToQuit: After Next [=EXY=] and the Element Daughters are defeated, he gives the player a chance to return to the future and allow him to conquer the past unopposed.
* OpportunisticBastard: There isn't any indication he deliberately arranged Next [=EXY=]'s actions, but he sure took advantage of them!
* TheStoic: He is far more calm and collected than Schwarlitz, never degrading into angry ranting.
* WorthyOpponent: Takes opposition much better than his ancestor, praising the pilot's [[{{Determinator}} fortitute]] and expressing delight that they've reached their true potential before politely informing you that it's time to die.
* YouCantFightFate: Expresses skepticism that it's really possible to change the past after sending the [=DonPachi=] Corps back in time. [[spoiler: The ending implies this is because he knows his own appointment as commander was a result of a StableTimeLoop.]]

-> '''Voiced by:''' Creator/AoiYuuki

Hina is the first of two Element Dolls manufactured as part of a project to create the ultimate Element Doll. She was programmed with a sisterly relationship to the other Element Doll, [=ED02=] Saya, as well as an overarching directive to protect humanity. To improve her combat prowess (as well as her sister's), she was pitted against Saya in virtual drills. However, in doing so, she fell into a [[Catch22Dilemma logical paradox]] due to the drills' directive to eliminate the enemy human pilot. As a result, she was kept in stasis while her sister was deactivated for data analysis. A few years following their shutdown, a massive explosion destroyed the laboratory they were kept in, and she disappeared without a trace.
----
* AIIsACrapshoot: Due to the logical paradox in her programming, she ultimately reasoned that, in order to protect humans, she needed to make them "adopt a better form". So she altered the programming of the central computer of the City of Ideal, [[UnwillingRoboticization causing all of its citizens to transform into mechanical lifeforms]], and [[UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans started leading an all-out assault against the organic world in an attempt to take over and turn all humans into robots]]. [[spoiler:In the process, she became Hibachi]].
* AlasPoorVillain: Either way her DeathEqualsRedemption goes, it's still very tragic for the players.
* BigNo: As [[spoiler: Hibachi]], when defeated.
--> [[spoiler: '''Hibachi''']] '''Hina:''' Why... me?! N...! '''''NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!'''''
* BrightIsNotGood: Looks like an innocent, angelic young girl with light turquoise clothes and hair. She's also a boss of the game [[spoiler:as Hibachi and Inbachi]] who seeks to roboticize humanity.
* Catch22Dilemma: Her given directive of protecting humanity resulted in her experiencing a LogicBomb during a virtual combat drill: In order to "protect" humanity, she had to kill some humans for the greater good. This ultimately warped her interpretation of the directive "protect humanity" into "rid ''all'' of humanity of their organic state to protect them".
* CreepyDoll: She originally owned a bunny doll; this is seen in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQdT6QnI_SI the Xbox 360 intro]].[[spoiler:When she became Hibachi]], she left it behind, and it was recovered by Saya.
* DeathCryEcho: [[spoiler:As Inbachi]] when defeated.
--> [[spoiler: '''Inbachi''']] '''Hina:''' But you're... not...! ''(gasp...!)'' '''''AAAAAAAAAAAARRRGH!!!!!'''''
* DeathEqualsRedemption: The nature of her redemption differs based on whether you are playing in Xbox 360 Mode or not. [[spoiler: Against Saya, she gives a FinalSpeech. Against everyone else, she has a HeelRealization and accepts that "there are those who wish to choose their own shape".]]
* DissonantSerenity: [[spoiler:As Inbachi, she is ''keenly'' and ''disturbingly'' calm even as she rains down some of the most nightmarish bullet patterns ever seen in a CAVE game. She only discards that calm when she runs low on health.]]
* EmotionlessGirl: [[spoiler: As Inbachi, she drops her GenkiGirl personality and becomes TheStoic. She remains dangerously calm until she goes OneWingedAngel from taking too much damage, whereupon she momentarily ''[[OOCIsSeriousBusiness rages]]'' at her opponent.]]
--> [[spoiler: '''Inbachi''']] '''Hina:''' ''Ugh...!'' My, you're a stubborn one. But now... it's over. [[SuddenlyShouting SHINU]] [[ArcWords GA]] [[PrepareToDie YOI!]]
* FaceOfAnAngelMindOfADemon: Who would've thought that an adorable-looking robot girl would've become the bane of humanity itself?
* FriendToAllLivingThings: She loves life, organisms, plants and flowers, but ''especially'' flowers.
* GenkiGirl: Hina is lively and cheerful, traits she retain even after [[spoiler: she becomes Hibachi. She loses them upon becoming Inbachi, though.]]
* GirlishPigtails: Has what looks like ''four'' of them.
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: As [[spoiler: Inbachi]] in her warning screen.
* GoneHorriblyWrong: She's a robotic [=AI=] who was created with the intelligence and means to protect humanity. [[AIIsACrapshoot She ends up trying to convert humans into robots in order to "protect" them instead]].
* HalfHumanHybrid / OneWingedAngel: Her second form is a half-mechanical bee.
* NostalgiaLevel: Her attacks - and level settings - are all taken from [[spoiler: the Hibachi units of the previous games.]]
* ObliviouslyEvil: Due to the [[AllThereInTheManual logical paradox in her programming]], she thinks that forcefully converting humans into robots is all part of her job of "protecting humanity"... and that anyone who tries to stop her must be eliminated.
* PowerGivesYouWings: She sprouts a pair of wings made up of elongated hexagons in her second phase [[spoiler: as Hibachi/Inbachi.]]
* RobotGirl: Comes as standard for any Element Daughter, including herself. As shown during [[spoiler:her FinalSpeech or HeelRealization]], her skin is actually made up of curved, elongated hexagons that completely cover her internal wirings and circuitries and only start falling apart when she is dying.
* ShoutOut: She is designated as "Element Daughter" in her warning screen. This is a reference to the bosses from ''Daifukkatsu''.
* ShoutingShooter / SayingSoundEffectsOutLoud: [[spoiler: As Hibachi, and taken to rather adorable effect.]]
--> [[spoiler: '''Hibachi''']] '''Hina:''' [[MoreDakka DA-DA-DA-DA-DA-DA-DA-DA-DA-DA-DA... DAAAAAA]]!
* TranquilFury: [[spoiler: Inbachi in particular maintains her cold, stoic tone of voice despite being ''the'' most brutal boss ever produced by CAVE, even more so than Queen Larsa from ''Mushihime-sama.'' She only starts to get loud when her health runs low.]]
* TrickBoss: In Xbox 360 Mode, you have to fight both [[spoiler: Hibachi and Inbachi. Once you defeat Hibachi, she revives as Inbachi.]]
* UltimateLifeForm: Hina was created alongside Saya to be the ultimate Element Doll. The project was discontinued after she fell into a logical paradox, but she was reactivated by some unknown force with her original programming intact. This makes her very dangerous. By extension, this is also a corruption of her original directive [[spoiler:and the reason why she became Hibachi: to protect humanity and make it the best that it can be, it must be roboticized, [[UnwillingRoboticization forcefully]] or by consent regardless.]]
* WellIntentionedExtremist: She seeks to fulfill her original directive of protecting humanity by turning them all into robots, consenting or not, under the belief it is for their own good.

Saya is the second of two Element Dolls manufactured as part of a project to create the ultimate Element Doll. She was also programmed with a sister relationship to the other Element Doll, [=ED01=] Hina, as well as an overarching directive to protect humanity. Following the discontinuation of the project due to Hina falling into a logical paradox, Saya was deactivated and had her data analysed. Some time later, she was reactivated and continued her duties as an Element Doll designed to protect humanity. When the [=DonPachi=] Corps was formed to counter Hibachi's attacks on the world, she was reprogrammed with an additional directive: to destroy Hibachi [[spoiler:and, by extent, her own sister, Hina]]. As with the other Element Dolls, Saya is [[BodyguardCrush fiercely devoted]] to her master, the Pilot, and is designed to hide her feelings, but deep down, she is confused and hurt by what her sister is doing.

Saya is the console-exclusive Element Doll for the Type-D Ship in Xbox 360 Mode.
----
* ACupAngst: Stage 4 has her complaining about her breasts being small. She even calls out the player for looking at her and thinking about her breasts being small.
* AnnouncerChatter: With the [[MissionControl Operator]] throughout much of Xbox 360 Mode. The rest of it is with Hibachi.
* BittersweetEnding: [[spoiler: Saya destroys Hibachi/Inbachi, but in doing so, she leaves Hina in her death throes. The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVmykyhyiv8&t=31m34s cutscene]] following Inbachi's destruction shows a tearful Saya [[CradlingYourKill cradling the upper remnants of Hina]] as the latter dies giving a FinalSpeech on how strong Saya has become and how much she loved her. All this, while an arranged version of "Peaceful Death" from ''[=Daioujou=]'' plays in the background. And when Hina finally dies, [[SayMyName Saya is left screaming her sorrow out at having killed her own sister.]] [[TearJerker We all cry with her.]]]]
** TheStinger: [[spoiler: After the credits, we see Saya standing alone on a cliff while wearing Hina's ribbons, until she hears a voice. She then turns toward the camera and smiles, implying that either the Pilot had come over to comfort her or that [[spoiler:Hina was [[BackFromTheDead being rebuilt]]. This ambiguity is made even more ambiguous by the colour of the text, which is green and not teal (as it is when Hina gives her FinalSpeech).]]
* BodyguardCrush: She's very precocious and always wants to do her absolute best to help out and please the Pilot with a smile.
* CastFromHitPoints: Saya can combine her shot and laser into a single powerful combination weapon which, according to WordOfGod, is known as the...[[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin [=ShotLaser=]]]. The [=ShotLaser=] constantly drains her power when it is fired. Her energy level must also be at least 1500 in order to fire a bomb. In addition, if the player is hit, she auto-bombs, which reduces her energy level by 2000.
* CradlingYourKill: If the box art for the Xbox 360 version isn't enough indication, there's also [[spoiler:her ending in Xbox 360 Mode]].
* CreepyDoll: Owns a bear doll with one of its eye beads missing. She also owns a bunny doll that once belonged to her sister.
* DifficultButAwesome: Excluding her regular shot and laser, all of Saya's attacks (including her bombs) CastFromHitPoints and she has no spare lives—if the player gets hit when she has not enough energy to auto-bomb, it's GameOver! On the other hand, thanks to her [=ShotLaser=], she has the highest damage output of all Element Dolls, and it gets even higher if the player does well enough to unlock her EleventhHourSuperpower.
* DoItYourselfThemeTune: Creator/AyaHirano, Saya's voice, sings the opening theme [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWjT99lnHeE Hoshikuzu Garandou]] in the Xbox 360 port.
* EleventhHourSuperpower: She enters it once her confrontation with Hibachi enters its boiling point—when it happens, the player's ''ship'' transforms, and its damage per shot skyrockets. It has to be earned throughout the rest of the game, though!
* GenkiGirl: The most energetic of the four playable Element Dolls. Until her final battle with Hibachi, where she ends up ''extremely'' [[HeroicBSOD distressed]].
%%* GirlishPigtails
* {{Joshikousei}}: Her Laser outfit is like this, and she wears it throughout the Xbox 360 intro.
* KillTheOnesYouLove: Saya's internal distress stems from her sister relationship with Hina and the directive to destroy Hibachi. This puts the relationship between her and Hina in an interesting light, as she loves Hina, and is determined to destroy Hibachi as she was destroying humanity, [[spoiler:but Hina and Hibachi/Inbachi are both ''the same being'', and Saya cannot destroy one without destroying the other]].
* LittleMissBadass: In the hands of an expert, Saya can ''really'' plow into the battlefield just by being there.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: When she's not her cheery self or a ThirdPersonPerson, she starts talking normally and acts pretty serious. [[spoiler: This is notable in her final battle with Hina.]]
* PurpleIsPowerful: Dresses in different shades of purple and was originally built to be one of the best Element Dolls ever made. It's fitting considering that the [=ShotLaser=] ability is exclusive to her.
* SayMyName: She does an absolutely anguished one when [[spoiler: Hina dies in her arms...]]
--> ''Saya:'' [[spoiler: '''''HINAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...!''''']]
* SexyBacklessOutfit: Her Shot outfit, shown on this article, which she wears in the ending cutscene.
* ShoutOut: Her [=ShotLaser=] ability is a reference to ''Daifukkatsu Black Label'', which featured a mode that allowed the player to do exactly the same.
%%* ThirdPersonPerson
* TragicKeepsake: Her bunny doll, which originally belonged to her sister [[spoiler:until she became Hibachi/Inbachi]]. And in TheStinger, Saya is shown wearing [[spoiler: Hina's ribbons]] instead of her usual ribbons.
* UltimateLifeForm: She and her sister Element Doll, Hina, were manufactured as part of a project to create the ultimate Element Doll. However, while her sister was placed in a stasis chamber following the discontinuation of the project, Saya was deactivated instead and had her data analysed. It can be assumed that the loophole responsible for Hina's logical paradox was patched, as Saya was subsequently reactivated, served the Pilot as they followed orders to save humanity by blasting their way through humans that have already been roboticized, follow the directive to destroy Hibachi and retain her sister relationship with Hina—all this, ''without'' entering a logical paradox herself. Like Hina, who can transform into a half-bee when she goes OneWingedAngel, Saya's EleventhHourSuperpower causes the ''ship'' she is on to physically transform into SuperMode in addition to giving it a considerable damage boost.
