! Team ''Franchise/FinalFantasy''

[[folder:Yuna]]
The female lead of ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyX'', and the lead protagonist of ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyX2''. She appears as the incarnation from the latter, [[spoiler:until Episode 4, where she changes into the ''Final Fantasy X'' incarnation]]. Yuna uses her Gunner Dressphere, making her TheGunslinger fighting with her [[GunsAkimbo twin Tiny Bees]].

Check out the Characters/FinalFantasyX characters page for information about Yuna from the games.
----
%%* BadassAdorable:
* BottomlessMagazines: She never has to reload, regardless of all the ammo she expends. Possibly justified by the fact she's using a pair of {{Magitek}} pistols, which would explain why we never see any shell casings.
* ChargedAttack: By using her Gunplay arts, Yuna can charge her Tiny Bees to shoot particularly powerful blasts of magic. These blasts hurt more and cause splash damage but take enough time that someone fast like Kasumi can close on her before she can fire.
* CombatMedic: She appears to be the only one who had the forethought to bring curative items with her and uses Potions and Ether to patch Tifa up after a particularly intense round of fighting. Given she was a White Mage who specialized in curative magics during her tenure as a Summoner, it makes sense she'd come prepared.
* DualityMotif: A result of her mixed heritage. Her right eye is blue, while the left is green, though missing the spiral-like pupil since she's only half Al-bhed.
* GondorCallsForAid: Invoked in part 4, where she finds herself alone versus [[spoiler: an army of Kasumi X clones.]] Which prompts Yuna to [[spoiler: switch to her Summoner Dressphere and summons a group of her Aeons.]] {{Subverted}}, since [[RedshirtArmy it doesn't end well for them.]]
* GunsAkimbo: Fights with two pistols, same as her Final Fantasy X-2 incarnation.
* GunFu[=/=]GunKata: Her fighting style is clearly [[ShoutOut inspired by]] ''Film/{{Equilibrium}}''. Despite wielding guns, Yuna proves to be a surprisingly adept martial artist who can perform kicks, somersault, or use GunKata to replace punches with point-blank shots.
* TheGunslinger: Yuna's default job class and primary role in both ''[[VideoGame/FinalFantasyX2 Final Fantasy X-2]]'' and ''Dead Fantasy''. She uses two magic guns named the Tiny Bees to shoot her enemies with, either as regular shots or charged, more powerful shots, giving her great range and the best rate of fire among the fighters.
* GunTwirling: Occasionally does this when readying herself or providing some extra flourish with the most notable example coming after providing the CoupDeGrace of a massive CombinationAttack with Tifa and Riku
* HalfHumanHybrid: Due to her mixed parentage, she's half human/half Al-bhed.
* [[DeclarationOfProtection I Will Protect Her]]: Yuna and her cousin, Rikku, are very close and always cover each other when possible. In part 2, Yuna defends Rikku several times against Kasumi and Ayane.
* JobSystem: She uses her [[TheGunslinger Gunner Dressphere]] for the majority of the series, but switches to her [[spoiler: [[SummonMagic Summoner Dressphere]]]] in part 4.
* LadyOfWar: Most likely carrying over from her time as a summoner, Yuna's style of GunKata is very smooth, controled and elegant with her employing lots of spins, twists, flips and twirls in order to get her guns aiming precicely where she needs them to.
* LongRangeFighter: While she's capable of fighting in close quartes, she can't take much physical abuse and tires quickly. She's at her best when fighting from a distance, and when she's [[spoiler: using [[SummonMagic her summons.]]]]
* MoreDakka: Often. Most obvious example being the falling battle of Episode 2, where she saturates the entire area with lead to hit Kasumi in spite of her teleportation power.
* PimpedOutDress: When she uses her Summoner Dressphere, Yuna changes her shorts and top for her classic kimono.
* PluckyGirl: No matter how dire the situation seems, she refuses to let it get her down for long and continues to give it her all.
* PowerStrainBlackout: Invoked in part 4, where she collapses in exhaustion after [[spoiler: [[CurbstompBattle all her Aeons are slaughtered]]]] by an army of Kasumi X clones, who were moments away from massacring her. [[spoiler: [[BigDamnHeroes Then Cloud showed up.]]]]
* TheRival: To Kasumi.
* SleepCute: [[spoiler:On Cloud's motorbike]] at the end of Episode 4.
* SummonMagic: [[spoiler:Her Aeons, used in Episode 4]].
* SquishyWizard: [[spoiler:In her ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyX'' incarnation in Episode 4]].
** In general while Tifa also has a variety of magics to use, Yuna is the specialist when it comes to projectile fighting and tends to crumple in CQC when she doesn't have the space and time needed to set up her Gunplay abilities.
* WeakButSkilled: She appears to be the physically weakest of the FF girls, but she can still handle herself through sheer skill. One example is when she uses AwesomenessByAnalysis to locate where Kasumi will teleport and shooting there, catching her.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Rikku]]
One of the party in ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyX'' and the {{Deuteragonist}} of ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyX2''. She appears as her latter incarnation, like Yuna, in her Thief Dressphere, making her an especially agile and fast fighter DualWielding Dual Blades.

Check out the Characters/FinalFantasyX characters page for information about Rikku from the games.
----
* AdaptationalSkill: Rikku is seen using Capoeira throughout parts I and II. In her own games, she's never seen using martial arts of any kind.
* AwesomeButImpractical: In one scene, she uses her daggers on her feet.
* BadassAdorable: She's a nice girl but, if anyone threatens her cousin, Yuna, look out.
* BadassesWearBandanas: She wears a blue bandana as part of her default Thief Dressphere.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Rikku was chosen to be Yuna's guardian for a reason, despite being two years younger than her.
* BodyguardBabes: Rikku is Yuna's cousin, and was one of her guardians, during her pilgrimage in ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyX''. She continues to act as her protector in ''Dead Fantasy'', where she saves her cousin's life three times in the first episode alone.
* BraidsOfAction: Several locks of her hair are braided with red and blue beads, though the majority of it is fashioned into a long, mussy looking ponytail.
* DanceBattler: Her fighting style seems to be Capoeira, as a lot of her attacks are similar to breakdancing. Plus, the flips and handsprings she uses are also reminiscent of the style.
* {{Determinator}}: She is extremely dedicated to protecting Yuna. In the first episode alone, she saves her ''three times''.
* DualWielding: With the same pair of daggers she wields in ''FF X-2''.
* FragileSpeedster: The fastest and most agile-seeming of the FF girls, but she gets wrecked by those hard-hitting heavy damage attacks.
* GenkiGirl: She's one of the perkiest, most upbeat characters you'll ever meet.
* HumanAlien: Rikku may look human, but [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRF7fVZWaws she's an Al-bhed.]]
* JobSystem: She tries to change dress-spheres in part 2, but Tifa inadvertently punches Hitomi into her, which interrupts the transformation.
** In a somewhat meta-example, Monty has set up a competition to design a dress-sphere for Rikku. We have yet to see the results in practice, however.
* LetsFightLikeGentlemen: She invokes this, during her introduction. After disarming Ayane, by swiping her Fuuma spear[[note]]which was done to save Yuna[[/note]], Rikku tosses it back to her to make things fair.
* OvershadowedByAwesome: While cool, she is somewhat out of focus compared to Tifa and Rinoa.
* TheRival: [[EmotionlessGirl Ayane]] is her designated rival for the series.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Her outfit mainly consists of a bra, pants and a short skirt.
* TomboyishPonytail
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Tifa]]
The female lead of ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII''. Appears in her later re-design, first appeared in ''Anime/FinalFantasyVIIAdventChildren''. In Dead Fantasy, Tifa still primarily uses martial arts, but her fighting style is enhanced by the many different materias that are embedded into her body, making her a powerful KungFuWizard who really shines when setting up combos with Team Final Fantasy.

Check out the Characters/FinalFantasyVII characters page for information about Tifa from the games.
----
* AdaptationalBadass / AdaptationalWimp: Zig-zagged between the two before ultimately landing on the "Badass" side. While she's lacks the same physical strength as her canonical self ([[https://vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/Tifa_Lockhart_(Final_Fantasy) Who could tank supernovas]]), her ''presentation'' within the series portrays her as far more of a badass than she has ever been presented as in canon. Particuarly episode 5 which has her going full on [[ImplacableMan Implacable Woman]]
* AdaptationalSkill: Tifa is also seen using fighting styles she has no knowledge of in ''Final Fantasy VII's'' canon. In her case, Drunken Boxing lifted straight from [[Creator/JackieChan Jackie Chan's]] ''Film/DrunkenMaster''.
* BarrierWarrior: She uses this to save the team when they are falling into lava.
* BeautyIsNeverTarnished: [[spoiler:{{Averted}} in Episode 5.]]
* BigDamnHeroes: At the end of Episode 1.
* BroughtDownToNormal: [[spoiler:By the end of part 3, after Hitomi quite literally beats the Materia out of her.]]
** BroughtDownToBadass
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: {{Downplayed}}. While Tifa's still strong enough to suplex opponents through solid rock, [[PowerCreepPowerSeep she isn't nearly as strong as she's typically shown to be in her own series.]]
* CuteBruiser: One of the most well known examples among [[Creator/SquareEnix SquareEnix's]] cast of characters.
* CurbStompBattle: [[spoiler: She ends up on the receiving end of one, from Hitomi, in part 3.]]
* DrunkenBoxing: Tifa shows off some moves from this particular style during the third section of Part II as she has to hold on to two potion bottles while fighting off team Dead or Alive in a weakened state, forcing her to put an emphasis on avoiding attacks and acrobatics to confuse her foes. The scene looks like it is straight out of ''The Drunken Master''.
* DynamicEntry: Invoked at the end of the first episode, when she enters the screen by near simultaneously kicking Kasumi, Ayane, and Hitomi just as they were about to finish off Yuna and Rikku.
* ElementalPunch: Thanks to the materia in her body, Tifa can enhance her punchs and kicks with elemental magic, using fire kicks, ice or lightning punches and so on which she primarily shows off in part III which focuses on martial arts.
* AHandfulForAnEye: In Part III, Tifa applies the Blind status on Hitomi, which is shown manifesting as her eyes getting covered in ink. Hitomi is blinded but proves she can easily pull off being a HandicappedBadass.
* HoistByHerOwnPetard: She attempts to blind Hitomi in their Episode 3 fight but all it does it force Hitomi to switch style and apply herself, resulting in Hitomi drawing first blood and punching the materia out of her.
* [[ImplacableMan Implacable Woman]]: [[spoiler: In part 5]].
* KickChick: Seen throughout most of her fights, especially part 2, where she pulls Ayane aside and kicks her 14 times in a single combo ([[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCp24tan--o at 1:27-1:36]])! Also seen during her fight with Hitomi in part 3.
* KungFuWizard: : Tifa with her materia is this, as she uses both her martial art skills and materia to fight. This makes her a JackOfAllStats who is both a formidable one-on-one combatant and a tremendous support to her team. It is a case of AdaptationalSuperpowerChange considering [[BadassNormal she's never]] [[BareFistedMonk shown using magic]] in ''[[VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII Final Fantasy's]]'' canon.
* LadyOfWar: A rare instance of overlapping with a BareFistedMonk; particularly in part 5, where she weaponizes a carjack with the fluidity and grace of a bo staff.
* LightningBruiser: She's easily the next strongest overall member of ''Final Fantasy's'' team, after Rinoa, [[spoiler: Cloud and Namine.]]
* MadeOfIron: In Episode 5, she takes a bucketload of nasty injuries but keeps going. {{Justified}} by one bit of FridgeBrilliance: she had lost her materia in the previous fight with Hitomi, making her tougher.
* OhCrap: Seen near the beginning of part 5, when she finds herself alone [[spoiler: and surrounded by Hayate's ninja squad]], which forces her to try to escape... but doesn't get far.
* [[OneManArmy One-Woman Army]]: At one point, she takes on the entirety of Team DOA while Yuna and Rikku are recovering from injuries. To say nothing of Episode 5, [[spoiler:where she slaughters an entire army of poor {{ninja}} {{mooks}} alone, and while they eventually take her down, she kills ''a lot'' of them.]]
* ThisIsSomethingHesGotToDoHimself: During the flashback sequence in part 4, between her and [[spoiler: Cloud]]. She refuses [[spoiler: his]] help by backing away from [[spoiler: him]] and solemnly shakes her head, then asks him to trust her.
* TimeMaster : Tifa’s Haste, Slow and Stop spells allow her to manipulate the flow of time, stopping it at key moments, accelerating time for her teammates or slowing enemies and so on.
* WorthyOpponent: One interpretation of her relationship with Hitomi.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Rinoa]]
The female lead of ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVIII''. She appears to have been given a re-design by Montyoum himself, sporting a new fighting style, new weapons and new powers. Rinoa is by far the most powerful character seen so far, being TheArchmage and a deadly MagicKnight who can unleash powerful spells as well as keep up in close-range engagements.

Check out the Characters/FinalFantasyVIII characters page for information about Rinoa from the games.
----
* AdaptationalBadass: A lot of viewers were genuinely shocked by how powerful she is in this series, especially considering [[DamselScrappy her reputation]] from the game. In Dead Fantasy, she dual wields a unique Blaster Edge and custom made Gunblade and is permanently in her Angel Wing Limit Break which not only enchance her magic skills (as in her home game) but also grans her flight and protection. Combine with her usage of high level magics, this makes her the strongest member of Team Final Fantasy.
* BigDamnHeroes: She appears in Episode 2 to save the girls from a terrible fate, by freezing an entire lake of lava with her magic.
* BlowYouAway: Creates a huge tornado in second to suck up Team Dead or Alive inside and trap them here.
* TheCavalry: Rinoa appears just as Team Final Fantasy falls into a lava lake with no hope of escaping. How does she save them? By freezing the entire lava lake.
* CoolSword: Her gunblade, ''Vanishing Star''. It is a {{BFS}} (relative to her size) that resembles an enormous combat knife incorporating a gun into its blade.
* CoyGirlishFlirtPose: Her iconic finger wag to the girls on her entrance. She wouldn't be Rinoa without it.
* CreatorsFavorite: Rinoa is Monty Oum’s favorite character.
* DanceBattler: [[ShownTheirWork Rinoa incorporates genuine ballet moves into her fighting]].
* DashAttack: In Part II, Team Final Fantasy manage to knock the girls of Team Dead or Alive into each other, setting them up for Rinoa to rapidly dash toward them from several directions while slashing them with Vanishing Star before
* DeadlyDisc: Her "blaster edge", ''Silenced Tear''. It appears to be some kind of shield-boomerang with a cutting edge and she can channel Holy magic into it to create damaging pillars of light. Ayane experiences first-hand that blocking the shield doesn't stop it from being dangerous.
* EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette: Rinoa fits the trope perfectly, being extremely pale with dark brown hair. Her angel wings increase her eerie appearance.
* FeatherMotif: It is implied that it is Rinoa who has summoned the girls from Team Final Fantasy, as her feathers are shown to appear near the girls prior to them being transported to the temple of the first episode.
* AnIcePerson: Rinoa introduces herself by casting an extremely powerful Ice spell that ''turns a lava lake into a giant ice plain''.
* LetsSplitUpGang: On her initiative, Team Final Fantasy uses teleportation spells to split up and turn a 5v4 into 1v1s. So far it seems to have been a bad move as both Tifa and Yuna found themselves in graver danger than they would have been together.
* LightningBruiser: It's almost unfair for someone to hit that hard, shrug off attacks with ease, fly so fast, ''and'' use [[RealityWarper reality-warping magic]].
* MagicKnight: Rinoa is not only the most powerful magic user seen so far, she also wields a Gunblade and Blaster Edge with great efficiency.
* MindOverMatter: Demonstrates telekynesis powers when she lifts huge chunks of rock without touching them and throwing them into a tornado.
* PowerGivesYouWings: Rinoa seems to be under the effect of a permanent Angel Wing Limit Break, although she's much more in control of herself.
* WingedHumanoid: Like her LimitBreak in the game, she gains a set of white angel wings to signify her power-up. However, these wings appear to be physical, permanent, and bestow her with flight.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Kairi]]
The female lead of ''Franchise/KingdomHearts''. Kairi appears alongside Rinoa as extra reinforcement for Team Final Fantasy, being an agile fighter dual-wielding Keyblades.

Check out the Characters/KingdomHearts characters page for more information.
----

* AdaptationalBadass: She has virtually no combat experience in ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsII'' (even if one take in account of her appearance in ''III''), but in ''Dead Fantasy'', she may as well be Sora - right down to having his Drive Forms.
** And when she transforms into [[spoiler: Namine (who too has no combat skills)]] she's god-moded.
%%* BadassAdorable
* CarFu: In her fight with Momiji, [[spoiler:Namine]] flips a van at her.
* CombinationAttack: She and Rikku team up for a double-blitz on Ayane that finishes with them popping her up into the air for a [[CrissCrossAttack double cross-slash finisher.]]
* DualWielding: With a pair of Keyblades: Oath Keeper and Oblivion.
* {{Expy}}: In the preview footage of part 6, she transforms into [[spoiler: Namine]] and sprouts [[VideoGame/BlazBlue a curtain of floating Keyblades behind her, like Nu-13.]] And she uses them the exact same way to fight [[spoiler: [[VideoGame/NinjaGaiden Momiji.]]]]
* GlassCannon: Due to her youth and skill with dual wielding, she's incredibly nimble and can easily overwhelm someone with rapid keyblade slashes, but if you manage to disrupt her flow and catch her on the backfoot, she doesn't really have any answers [[spoiler: that don't rely on Nanime.]]
* LittleMissBadass: By all accounts the youngest combatant in the series, but she can hold her own regardless.
* OneWingedAngel: See the SuperMode entry below and all the related entries that come with it.
* PimpedOutDress: She gets one when she changes into [[spoiler: [[SuperMode Namine.]]]]
* PowerDyesYourHair: Transforming into [[spoiler: Nanime]] sees the red in her hair fade away to platinum blonde as she readies herself.
* SpectacularSpinning: Her fighting style relies heavily on spinning and twisting and twirling with her keyblades to apply continuous pressure.
* SuperMode: Her transformation into [[spoiler: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uaIIs8iD10 Namine.]]]]
** BeamSpam: She fires a volley a laser blasts from her Keyblades.
** {{BFG}}: At one point, during the fight, two of her Keyblades briefly become a laser cannons. The first appears over her shoulder, but she holds the second one in her hands.
** DanceBattler: Check the dance moves when she surrounds [[spoiler: Momiji]] with her Keyblades, then shakes her groove thing while she's attacking her with them [[MacrossMissileMassacre in an omin-directional barrage.]]
** FlashStep: Seen several times during the fight.
** PowerGivesYouWings: As if she weren't overpowered enough, she can even fly.
** StormOfBlades: In similar fashion to Nu-13. She can attack with them individually, in waves, or all at once.
** SuperPowerLottery: Just look at all the powers she gains with her transformation, 'nuff said.
** SummonMagic: Near the end of the fight, she tosses a special red and black Keyblade into the air. When it hits the ground, it summons [[spoiler: [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII Vincent Valentine.]]]]
** After being summoned, she activates her Valor form during her opening strike so that she can use two keyblades. Over the course of the entire series she never actually fights in base form using a singular keyblade.
* TransformationIsAFreeAction: Invoked in part 6, where she transforms into [[spoiler: Namine]] in plain sight of [[spoiler: Ryu Hayabusa and his apprentice, Momiji.]] What makes this especially jarring is, [[spoiler: Momiji tries to prevent it, [[HonorBeforeReason but Ryu wouldn't allow her to.]] You'd think he, of all people, would know better than to watch an enemy power up right in front of him without trying to stop them!]]
* UnexpectedCharacter: To those who thought it would just be for ''Franchise/FinalFantasy'' vs ''VideoGame/DeadOrAlive''.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Spoiler characters]]
!!Cloud Strife
The lead protagonist from ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII''.

Check out the Characters/FinalFantasyVII characters page for more information.
----
* BadassAbnormal: [[spoiler:Cloud's body is infused with Mako energy and Jenova Cells as a result of [[MadScientist Hojo's]] experiments. As such, he's unbelievably fast, has heightened reflexs and accelerated healing ability, and super strength.]]
* BadassBiker: Thanks to [[spoiler:Fenrir]].
* BattleCouple: {{Averted}} in ''Dead Fantasy'', since [[spoiler:he]] doesn't get the chance to fight alongside [[spoiler: [[LoveInterest Tifa.]]]] Instead, [[spoiler:he's]] been trying to find her.
* {{BFS}}: [[spoiler:Just as in ''[[Anime/FinalFantasyVIIAdventChildren Advent Children]]'', he uses the First Tsurugi, rather than the Buster Sword,]]
* BigDamnHeroes: At the climax of part 4, when he arrives just as Yuna was about to be slaughtered by [[spoiler: an army of Kasumi X clones.]]
* BigNo: Though there's no voice acting, it's visibly and quite clearly implied by [[spoiler: his outstretched hand as he runs toward the edge of the cliff to try to stop Tifa from backing off of it]], during the flashback sequence in part 5.
* TheCavalry: Cloud properly introduces himself by saving Yuna from an attack from Kasumi X clones. During live screenings of the event, the moment he appeared, the crowd went wild ([[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jf0VzRellrw at 3:50-4:05).]]
* DynamicEntry: Invoked at the climax of part 4, where [[spoiler: Cloud]] leaps from [[spoiler: Fenrir]] and mows down [[spoiler: a wave of [[DemonicSpiders Kasumi X clones]]]] with [[spoiler: his Blade Beam]] LimitBreak.
* OneManArmy: While it's true that [[spoiler: he]] never made it into [[spoiler: [[SuperSoldier SOLDIER]]]], it doesn't stop [[spoiler: him]] from fighting like one. [[spoiler: Cloud's fighting ability is on par, if not greater, than a SOLDIER 1st Class.]]
* SuperSoldier: [[spoiler:It's practically the name of their unit.]]
* WalkingSpoiler: Cloud's mere appearance in the series is a spoiler.
[[/folder]]

! Team ''VideoGame/DeadOrAlive''

[[folder:Kasumi]]
The main protagonist of the ''VideoGame/DeadOrAlive'' games. Kasumi is an agile shinobi who specializes in using her energy and teleportation spells in combat, making her a polyvalent fighter. On the other hand, she's only equipped with a normal wakizashi, making her weak as far as physical damage is concerned.

Check out the Characters/DeadOrAlive characters page for more information.
----
* BeamSpam: Her other primary tactic along with [[TeleportSpam teleport spamming.]]
* CherryBlossoms: Her motif. They appear when she teleports.
* EnemyMine: Her fighting alongside Ayane is an indication of this.
* FlashStep: All over the place, when she isn't teleporting.
* FragileSpeedster: Her teleporting means she can cover incredible distances in a short time, but she can't take many hits and her attacks aren't particularly powerful either.
* HandBlast: One of Kasumi's signature techniques is the Torn Sky Blast in which she shoots a bolt of pink energy from her hands. She can easily spam this technique, making her the LongRangeFighter of Team Dead or Alive and a direct rival to Yuna in her Gunner Dressphere. At point-blank range, even Tifa can feel the damage it causes.
* HighlyVisibleNinja: This is hardly any surprise, given she's wearing is skimpy blue and white outfit, and teleports all over the places amidst bright flashes of light and sakura petals. If she and her family are anything to go by, it would seem that the Muugen-Tenshin Clan doesn't bother with subtlety, much less stealth.
* OneWomanArmy:
** In part 2, she manages to hold off Yuna, Rikku, and Tifa single-handedly, to buy Ayane the time she needed to build ki for her "Raging Mountain God" ninja art.
** At the end of part 5, it's revealed she fought and killed the majority of [[spoiler: the Kasumi X clones]] on her own; something which [[spoiler: even Yuna's Aeons hadn't been able to accomplish.]]
* ReverseGrip: Kasumi holds her wakizashi in a reverse grip, making it look like an oversized dagger instead of a regular sword.
* TheRival: Yuna is her designated opponent in ''Dead Fantasy.''
* TakingTheBullet: In one scene, she takes a full-on punch from Tifa to prevent her from interrupting Ayane's spell.
* TeleportSpam: Her favorite tactic, which she uses liberally during most of her fights, always leaving sakura petals behind her. With that technique, Kasumi is able to outspeed Rikku. The technique has weak points, as seen when Yuna unleashes BulletHell over a large area just to make sure Kasumi is gonna get hit eventually or when Yuna predicts where Kasumi will be attacking from.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Ayane]]
One of the player characters from ''VideoGame/DeadOrAlive''. Like Kasumi, she is a ninja whose extremely agile, but she specializes at fighting with her DoubleWeapon, and only occasionally using ninpos.
----
* AwesomeButImpractical: You'd think a double-bladed sword would be a difficult and impractical weapon for serious combat, right? '''[[SubvertedTrope Wrong]]'''.
* CoolSword: Her dual-bladed Fuuma Spear, which once belonged to her adoptive father figure, Genra, whom she [[spoiler: was forced to kill at the end of the third DOATECH tournament.]] Making it a TragicKeepsake.
* EmotionlessGirl: Which makes her the polar opposite of [[GenkiGirl Rikku.]]
* EnemyMine: See the TeethClenchedTeamwork entry further down.
* FantasticNuke: Her "Raging Mountain God" ninja art (seen in part 2), which was powerful enough to destroy the upper portion of the tower they were fighting on!
* HighlyVisibleNinja: Much like her half-sister, Kasumi, though not nearly as flashy.
* MagicKnight: Using Art of the Raging Mountain God to blow up the tower they were fighting on was one of the most impressive things we've seen in the series so far. She also uses a lightning based ninpo to counter one of Tifa's spells, during the freefall battle sequence.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: Covered in the FantasticNuke entry above.
* TheRival: To Rikku.
* ShockAndAwe: When Tifa shoots a Lighning spell, Ayane counters it with a lightning-based ninpo of her own.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: With Kasumi, as seen near the beginning of part 2. When Kasumi places her hand on Ayane's shoulder, apparently suggesting she use her "Raging Mountain God" ninpo, Ayane curtly brushes her hand aside as if to say, 'don't tell me what to do' (though she agrees to it anyway).
** This makes their partnership a stark contrast to Yuna and Rikku's, who get along with each other and often use coordinated teamwork to cover and support each other. While Ayane seemingly only helps Kasumi because she sees the cousin duo as their mutual enemy. Thus, putting her animosity toward Kasumi on hold.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Hitomi]]
One of the player characters from ''VideoGame/DeadOrAlive''. Hitomi is a martial artist who lacks spells but compensates with her sheer skill in martial art and her SuperStrength, making her able to lift stone pillars and break rock bare-handed.

Check out the ''Characters/DeadOrAlive'' characters page for more information.
----
* AdaptationalBadass: She is capable of easily smashing stone columns and throwing people large distances, can keep up with a [[SuperSpeed hasted Tifa]] in hand-to-hand combat, and later [[spoiler: beats down Tifa easily after being blinded, and steals and uses her Materia.]]
* AdaptationalSkill: [[spoiler:She can also use Wing Chun, a martial art her game counterpart has no training in.]]
* BareFistedMonk : Hitomi’s fighting ability entirely revolve around her martial art abilities. Compare that to everyone else who has weapon and/or magic spells complete their arsenal. However, part III shows that she is even better than Tifa at pure martial arts when she applies herself and besides, she’s got SuperStrength.
* BeatThemAtTheirOwnGame: See the InstantExpert entry below.
* BoringButPractical: For a given amount of "boring"; While everyone else is busting out magic and ninjitsu tomfoolery, what is Hitomi's ace in the hole? [[spoiler: She knows ''two'' fighting styles.]]
* CombatPragmatist: During her Part III battle wth Tifa, once she realizes [[spoiler: she can knock Tifa's materia out with powerful strikes]] her game plan changes immediately to rushing Tifa down with intense body blows whenever she can. Nearly breaking Tifa's arm at the elbow by bending it the wrong way, [[KickThemWhileTheyAreDown kneeing her in the gut while she's crumpled on the floor]] and eventually [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown throwing her up against the wall and giving her the buisness]] to the point that Tifa is left torn up and bloody by the end of it. All Tifa can do is [[ThisCannotBe stumble to her feet in horrified shock]] before Hitomi lands a shoulder-check that sends her through a wall, ending their fight. [[EveryoneHasStandards She does, however leave things at that as she was only out to beat Tifa.]] [[spoiler: [[FromBadToWorse and then Hayate showed up...]]]]
* CurbstompBattle: She delivers a brutal one to Tifa, noted in the HandicappedBadass entry above.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Let's just say she wasn't happy with [[spoiler: Hayate]] for what he did to [[spoiler: Tifa.]] See the WhatTheHellHero entry further down.
* AHandfulForAnEye: In Part III, Tifa applies the Blind status on Hitomi, which is shown manifesting as her eyes getting covered in ink. Hitomi is blinded but proves she can easily pull off being a HandicappedBadass.
* HandicappedBadass: Seen during her fight with Tifa, in part 3, where she gets hit with a blind spell. Guess what happens next: [[spoiler:she curbstomps Tifa, by literally beating the Materia out of her. Reducing her opponent to a human gumball machine.]]
* IAmNotLeftHanded: After Tifa hits her with a Blind spell, Hitomi switches from Karate to Wing Chun; a faster and more in-close fighting style that, in Hitomi's case, doesn't require sight to be effective.
* InstantExpert: Never seen [[spoiler: Materia]] before? No problem. Apparently, all she needs is to [[spoiler: touch it to figure out what each one does and how to use it.]]
** NewPowersAsThePlotDemands: Once she gains access to [[spoiler: Tifa's Materia]], she immediately knows [[spoiler: how to use each one.]]
* MadeOfIron: During the freefall battle sequence, Tifa suplexed her through solid rock, then followed up with Demi. Hitomi quickly recovers and resumes fighting, seemingly without injury.
* NoIAmBehindYou: As a finisher and echo to episode 2, Hitomi also pulls this on Tifa in episode 3. After barely escaping a pummeling, Tifa looks back but sees that Hitomi has disappeared, trying to look around until Hitomi comes out from behind her and finishes her with a powerful elbow strike to the back that knocks out all the materia out of her body.
* RapidFireFisticuffs: Hitomi delivers this to Tifa in part III after she switches to Wing Chun, likely as a nod to Ip Man's famous move.
* TheRival: To Tifa. Of all the rivalries in ''Dead Fantasy'', theirs is the fiercest and the one that's been given the most focus.
* SuperStrength: Hitomi can effortlessly smash stone columns and, as seen near the end of part 1, stomp the ground hard enough to send entire sections of it flying, then punch hard enough that the pieces carried two of her opponents out of the tower they were fighting in! This is one of several instances of Monty [[ArtisticLicense taking liberties]] with the characters. As in ''[[VideoGame/DeadOrAlive Dead or Alive's]]'' canon she isn't said to possess that level of physical strength, nor is she ever shown doing anything even remotely like any of what she does in ''Dead Fantasy''.
* WhatTheHellHero: Hitomi wasn't happy with [[spoiler: Hayate]] interfering in her match with Tifa to begin with, since [[spoiler: he]] denied her the chance to finish the fight. But clearly felt that [[spoiler: sending an entire squad of ninja]] after an opponent who was weakened, then [[spoiler: damn near killing them]] was going too far. Hitomi belts him.
* WorthyOpponent: One interpretation of her rivalry with Tifa.

[[folder:Rachel]]
The female lead from ''VideoGame/NinjaGaiden''. Equipped with an axe, Rachel is the powerhouse of Team Dead or Alive, being able to smash a huge tower in half in one strike. As a trade-off, her massive weapon slows her down considerably.

Check out the Characters/NinjaGaiden characters page for more information.
----
* TheBigGuy: To Team DOA.
* TheDreaded: She's scary as hell to watch. She's easily the most powerful [[spoiler:female]] character in Team DOA, and is seemingly the only character capable of challenging Rinoa head-on.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: The first thing is does is ''cut through a huge tower with one swing''.
* GrapplingHookPistol: Although Rachel is formally slow, she had a grappling hook pistol on her that allows her to hook to anything and navigate difficult terrain like a tornado full of rocks.
* InverseLawOfUtilityAndLethality: Clearly the powerhouse of her team, and wields the biggest weapon to boot. That being said, she ends up ''taking'' more big hits than she dishes out due to being what amounts to a MightyGlacier in a series full of much faster and more tactically flexible characters.
* MightyGlacier: Her axe makes her the physically strongest fighter in the series, but the weapon's bulk means that she cannot swing it too rapidly and must count on her teammates distracting the enemy for her to set up a swing.
* VariableLengthChain: Uses it to get around.

!!Hayate

One of the playable characters in ''VideoGame/DeadOrAlive''. He appears in Episode 5 leading a squad of ninjas against Tifa for mysterious reasons. Unlike most of the characters, Hayate doesn't do much fighting.

Check out the Characters/DeadOrAlive character page for more information.
----
* AdaptationalVillainy: Ya think? See the BadBoss, DirtyCoward, and SmugSnake entries.
* BadassArmfold: In the hangar, Hayate watches Tifa fight his ninja squad from a vantage point, his arm folded. Even when Tifa jumps to attack him, he doesn't drop the armfold until a split second before her kick lands, punching her away faster than the eye can see.
* BadBoss: He sends an army of ninja against [[OneManArmy Tifa]] and doesn't seem to care how many of them die to bring her down.
* CombatPragmatist: [[spoiler: Rather than go into a fair fight against Tifa, he waits until she's already lost a fight against a stronger opponent.]] If you were feeling charitable, you'd say this was smart. Less charitably, this makes him a...
* DirtyCoward: For taking advantage of Tifa while she was weakened and [[TeleportSpam avoiding her]] whenever she tried attacking him. Instead, he waits 'til she's exhausted and bound in chains. [[spoiler: Then casually strolls up to her and finishes her off.]]
* TheDragon: Judging from the conclusion of part 5, he appears to be taking orders from [[spoiler: Helena Douglas]].
** JustFollowingOrders: Possibly his justification for [[spoiler: having his squad assualt Tifa]].
* HighlyVisibleNinja: It'd be pretty hard not to spot someone in a bright white outfit, no matter how fast they are.
* FlashStep: The guy's a {{ninja}}, what'd you expect? Unlike his men who leap and run, Hayate seems to appear out of thin air.
* LightningBruiser: Seen in part 5... if you're quick enough to spot it, that is. Hayate delivers a punch so fast it literally amounts to [[FreezeFrameBonus "blink, and you'll miss it".]]
* NoNonsenseNemesis: [[spoiler: By using his squad, rather than fight [[OneManArmy Tifa]], himself.]]
* RedshirtArmy: [[spoiler:His ninja mooks. They die in droves, but cause enough damage to weaken Tifa and allow Hayate to deal the finishing blow.]]
* SmugSnake: As far as the crowd was concerned, during live screenings of the event. It didn't help that he came across as villainous to begin with for [[spoiler: sending a squad of ninja after Tifa]], after she'd been weakened.
* VictoryByEndurance: Noted in the DirtyCoward entry above, and the WeHaveReserves entry below.
* WalkingSpoiler
* WeHaveReserves: [[spoiler: Hayate sends a veritable army of ninja against Tifa, and doesn't seem to mind how many of them die]].

!!Ryu Hayabusa
----
* DivingSave: In order to save [[spoiler: Momiji]] from [[spoiler: Namine's]] special red and black Keyblade, just as it would have hit her.
* DynamicEntry: [[spoiler: Invoked by wiping out the remaining Kasumi X clones, which Kasumi hadn't gotten to yet, just before she collapses in exhaustion.]]
* HighlyVisibleNinja: One of the worst offenders of them all. This guy is the antithesis of subtlety, espionage, [[LudicrousGibs or anything having to do with stealth...]] and his fans [[RuleOfCool love him for it.]]
* LeaveHimToMe: When [[spoiler: Namine]] summons [[spoiler: [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII Vincent Valentine]]]], Ryu steps forward and draws his sword to face him.
* StudentAndMasterTeam: With [[spoiler: Momiji]]
* WalkingSpoiler

!!Momiji

* NaginatasAreFeminine: Momiji is a feminine woman who uses a naginata, the Heavenly Dragon Naginata.
