!''Book Of Shadows''

[[folder: ''Corpse Party: Book of Shadows'' introducees]]
!Sayaka Ooue
-->Voiced by: MAKO
[[quoteright:232:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sayakaprofile.png]]
A student at the same high school as Naho who does work in the talent industry. She's good friends with Naho due to them both being involved with the media.
-----

* AdvertisedExtra: For some reason, the game icon for ''Book of Shadows'' has her standing in front of Heavenly Host, despite her limited screentime.
* DoomedByCanon: She only appears in flashbacks in ''Book of Shadows'', so… She’s pretty much done for.
* GenkiGirl: She’s quite energetic.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: Quickly notices in ''Corpse Party: Musume'' that Naho has feelings for Kibiki. She takes it surprisingly well, as she wants to see her happy.
* NiceGirl: She even agrees to enter Heavenly Host with Naho to rescue Kibiki and Taguchi.
* UndyingLoyalty: To Naho, to the point of agreeing to go to Heavenly Host with her with no hesitation, and refusing the chance to escape Heavenly Host's loop because it would mean leaving Naho behind.

!Tsukasa Mikuni
-->Voiced by: Creator/NobuhikoOkamoto

A young man who attended Kisaragi Academy six years ago with Yui. They apparently dated, but never even kissed.
-----

* CovertPervert: Has a thing for Student-Teacher Romance.
* {{Determinator}}: Nothing seems to faze this guy. Not even ''Yoshie''.
* TheLadysFavor: Gender-inverted: He lends Yui the pencil he used for his high school entrance exams for good luck during her college entrance exams. He tells her that he's not letting her keep it. He needs it for ''his'' exams, too.
* UnderstandingBoyfriend: He is very much this to Yui, even though they weren't dating during his canon appearances.

!Makina Shinozaki

A very old woman who actually dies of old age in the game, but conveniently comes back as a friendly if still majorly creepy ghost. She's Yoshie Shinozaki's aunt and the great-aunt of Sachiko and Sachi Shinozaki.
-----

* TheAtoner: For all the trouble the Shinozaki family is causing at that time.
* NotTooDeadToSaveTheDay: Luckily for Yui and Tsukasa.
[[/folder]]

!''2U''

[[folder: ''Corpse Party -THE ANTHOLOGY- Sachiko's Game of Love ♥ Hysteric Birthday 2U'' introducees]]
!Aiko Niwa
-->Voiced by: Rikako Yamaguchi
[[quoteright:269:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/prof2_6.png]]

A third year student from Paulownia Academy, with a knack for money and paranormal items, also possessing spiritual powers like Naho.
-----

* EvilCounterpart: To Sayaka. They both care very much for Naho, but Aiko buries it underneath immense {{greed}} until it’s too late. They’re also both fond of teasing, but Aiko’s is more [[SmugSnake mean-spirited]].
* HiddenBuxom: As part of a Quiz game Naho's group was taking part in so that they could retrieve Kibiki from Sachiko's clutches, they need to find out who has the largest chest size out of all three girls present. Naho and Sayaka have a [[SkinshipGrope hands-on]] approach to find out Aiko's and she has, in fact, the largest chest out of all of them, which her outfit does a good job at concealing.
* HiddenHeartOfGold: Revealed in ''Blood Drive''. At one point she unflinchingly muses about trapping Naho's spirit in a spiritual item to make it a rare "talking spiritual item". But one glance at a picture she took with Naho and Sayaka and her reaction shows that, deep down, she considered Naho a dear friend and misses her. After Sayaka's corpse is found and she's running away from a darkness-possessed Inumaru, she cracks and voices that she could care less about money and spiritual items, and that all she wants is to see Naho and Sayaka again.
* ItsAllAboutMe: [[OnlyInItForTheMoney She only cares for her personal gain]], and is even willing to do Sachiko's bidding if it means getting her hands on spiritual items.
* MadeOfIron: First survives an encounter with the berserk darkness-possessed Inumaru, then is ''set on fire'' and still manages to survive. It takes a beheading for her to go down properly.
* OffWithHerHead: Happens to her in ''Blood Drive'', but after Sachiko sends Ayumi back in time, Ayumi is able to prevent it.
* SiblingRivalry: Her feelings towards Kuon and why she became involved with the supernatural in the first place.
* SmugSnake: Every time she finds herself in a position above other people, particularly Naho, she pushes their buttons for her personal amusement. When she's put in a lower or uncomfortable position she cracks considerably, which shows in her reaction to being on the receiving end of the abovementioned SkinshipGrope.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Her reaction when looking at a picture of her with Naho and Sayaka implies that she saw Naho in this regard. Made all the more clear when she lets out that all she wants is see her dead friends again, spiritual items be damned.

!Haruyuki Inumaru
-->Voiced by: Tomohiro Yamaguchi
[[quoteright:269:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/prof3.png]]

A second year student at Paulownia Academy. He's a childhood friend of Sayaka, and fell in love with her. She harshly rejects him however, which he doesn't seem to mind.
-----

* TheChewToy: Boy, is he ''ever''.
* GoMadFromTheRevelation: When he learns [[spoiler:Sayaka is dead...by finding her ''decomposing corpse'']].It hits him so hard he's taken over by a SuperpoweredEvilSide.
* HiddenDepths: He manages to win the race in Chapter 1 of ''2U''. Even ''Sachiko'' is dumbfounded that someone made it through alive, let alone him.
* HopelessSuitor: He takes all of Sayaka's harsh responses to his declarations of love as Sayaka being {{Tsundere}}, thinks they're destined to be together for being childhood friends, and doesn't seem to notice that she's actually a lesbian infatuated with Naho.
* MeaningfulName: Inu in Inumaru can mean dog. First he's a DoggedNiceGuy, and then after his darkening he is stuck acting like a mad dog. Going further, his last name is written with the kanji for 'dog' and 'ball' respectively. Quite fitting for TheChewToy, no?
* PluckyComicRelief: More evident in ''2U'', lessened in ''Blood Drive''.
* SuperpoweredEvilSide: Due to his high spiritual energy, Inumaru's transformation is quite different when he succumbs to the Darkening. Instead of red eyes, he gets golden eyes and red symbols on his face. He also loses his humanity and [[AnimalMotif starts acting like]] [[MeaningfulName a dog]] with rabies and [[ThePowerOfHate super strength]].
* TooKinkyToTorture: Sayaka can give this guy a MegatonPunch but Inumaru ''will'' take it as a gesture of affection, regardless of what Sayaka says.

!Satsuki Mizuhara
-->Voiced by: Creator/YumiHara
[[quoteright:269:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/prof4.png]]

Yuka's classmate at Kisaragi Academy Junior High School and also a HumanoidAbomination created by means of unholy powers. She's very sociable when she's not eating anyone, though.
-----

* AbusiveParents: As Satsuki Nekoma. They were killed by Magari.
* BigEater: Always has potato chips on hand and is constantly seen snacking on them. Though one comment in ''2U'' implies that her potato chip bag is actually [[ChekhovsGun always empty.]]
* BodyHorror: Satsuki Mizuhara is the product of spiritual surgery performed by the Tomb of Martuba. Her original components were Satsuki Nekoma and Harue Mizuhara, two friends who had the misfortune that the former's parents cared more about their ranks with the Tomb of Martuba than their daughter. Satsuki Mizuhara is a new person, whose looks are more Satsuki and personality is more Harue. Satsuki Mizuhara also is a monster whose head can split open into an all-devouring meat flower. Only Magari's control stops Satsuki from eating everyone, as her appetite cannot be sated and her humanity depends on said outside control.
* BreakTheCutie: Satsuki Nekoma was fine living in a cold and dark house from which furniture went missing daily. Being smashed around with a frying pan was something she enjoyed because it meant her parents were paying attention to her. Attending creepy sect meetings was something she did dutifully. When Harue went missing after a car accident, she accepted that as the flow of life. But when she was brought to the Tomb of Martuba for spiritual surgery, aware it would mean death, and spotted the corpse of Harue in an earthenware pot, then she could not suppress begging for her life. Her wish was sort of granted, but the Tomb of Martuba did proceed with the spiritual surgery anyway.
* DirtyKid: She likes to make people uncomfortable or agitate them by accusing them of being perverts with all kinds of secret desires and intentions.
* FlowerMouth: Her entire head can become one, as Misuto found out the hard way.
* HumanoidAbomination: She’s literally two people fused together.
* IHaveBoobsYouMustObey: Harue tried to convince Satsuki of this. Now that they are within the same person, Satsuki likes to point out the quality of her own breasts.
* LovecraftianSuperpower: Technically. Satsuki underwent a spiritual surgery by Martuba's Tomb. She appears to have her own body, but was grafted with her friend Harue's personality, as well as the ability to ''sprout her head open'' like a flower and eat things. It's implied that because of the creature she was grafted with, her appetite can never be sated, and has to be constantly kept in check in order for her not to go berserk.
* MeaningfulBackgroundEvent: Satoshi wonders in ''2U'' how Satsuki can balance a stick on the top of her head. It's a minor joke until the later revelation that Satsuki's monster form's lips are essentially up there.
* ShoutOut: Her meat flower form was attributed to ''Manga/{{Parasyte}}''.
* TheReveal: When she eats Misuto's head.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Potato chips.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: Satsuki Nekoma and Harue Mizuhara, Satsuki Mizuhara's components.

!Azusa Takai
-->Voiced by: Creator/{{Yukana}}

A former second year student at Sugatani Senior High School and St. Cruz Girls' High School, as well as [[spoiler:a high-ranking member of the Tomb of Martuba]]. She may have a special power that makes people like her and think highly of her.
-----

* BitchInSheepsClothing: Azusa always aims to be liked by the people around her. Both her personality and what seems to be a special power help her accomplish this. But all the same, when she doesn't get her way and can't think of a means to get it, she becomes murderous. Whether that requires beating someone to death or tricking them, it's the same to her. In fact, the whole reason she ended up in Heavenly Host is because she tried to get her friends sent there under the guise of eternal friendship so she could make a clean start after being rejected by Kentaro.
* HidingBehindYourBangs: Her left eye is always covered by her hair, giving her a rather mysterious appearance.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Her left eye, which is always covered by her hair, may be red. That is, the one time her left eye is shown she is under the influence of the Darkening, which can turn people's eyes red, so there's that. However, her right eye is as blue as ever, so that suggests her eyes are in their natural state.
* VillainousFriendship: With Yuuya Kizami. In the Wrong End of the ''2U'' extra chapter, a broken Azusa meets with Kizami, who claims that the living should stick together. In a promotional audio recording for ''Blood Drive'', Kizami meets a dying Ran and becomes interested in meeting Azusa after hearing she beat Ran up and was true to herself in doing so. In ''Blood Drive'', Kizami as the Anatomical Model and a Darkened Azusa work together to kill Yoshiki. They're still sticking together by the time Magari comes to retrieve Azusa.

!Ran Kobayashi
-->Voiced by: Creator/SumireUesaka

A former second year student at Sugatani Senior High School and St. Cruz Girls' High School. She's in love with Azusa and very eager to please and keep her.
-----

* UndyingLoyalty: Azusa beat her up so badly that she was dying and ''still'' she wanted nothing more than to be reunited with her wife.
* {{Yandere}}: It required the environment of Heavenly Host combined with Azusa's hypothetical power to come to fruition, but her attempted murder of Toshihisa wouldn't have happened if she didn't have the potential for it in her own psyche.

!Kentaro Oshio
-->Voiced by: Creator/YoshimasaHosoya

A former second year student at Sugatani Senior High School. He's very intelligent and empathic, making him well-liked.
-----

* WeHardlyKnewYe: He's only in the extra chapter, not in either of the game's manga adaptions, and he pretty much died before the cast even meets him. Most of "his" appearances are a ghost possessing his body. His corpse is one of the harder to find in ''Corpse Party: Blood Drive''. What we do get to know of him paints him as an altruistic and trustworthy individual.

!Toshihisa Goto
-->Voiced by: Yūsuke Kuwabata

A former second year student at Sugatani Senior High School. He's a fashion designer with moderate success and once dated Azusa.
-----

* WeHardlyKnewYe: He's only in the extra chapter, not in either of the game's manga adaptions, and he's dying during it. His corpse is the first to be found in ''Corpse Party: Blood Drive''. What we do get to know of him is marked by Azusa's and Ran's betrayal.
[[/folder]]

!Blood Drive
[[folder: ''Corpse Party: Blood Drive'' introducees]]
!Kuon Niwa
-->Voiced by: Creator/SaoriHayami
[[quoteright:269:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/prof5.png]]

The older sister of Aiko Niwa and a both physically and mentally gifted woman. Too bad it comes at the cost of her life energy, causing her to age rapidly. She's the CEO of Perfect Life and the teacher who replaced Yui Shishido after she was erased.
-----

* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: To Aiko.
* BigGood: To the point of being a CrystalDragonJesus.
* ButterFace: An inversion, she has the face of a beautiful young woman that she is, but her body is wrinkled and her breasts sag like a granny in her 80s.
* CoolBigSis: Objectively. Aiko actually hates her because of how great of a sister she is.
* CoolTeacher: She is very serious about her job and the safety of her students. And despite the awkward feeling she caused for the survivors who remembered Yui, her help and care causes them to embrace her with the same love they did Yui. This makes her happy, but also makes restoring the memories of the victims that much harder.
* CrystalDragonJesus:
** Played with. Aiko describes her as the embodiment of human ideals; there is ''nothing'' she doesn't excel at, whether it's academics, business, or eventually the occult. And she always comes out at the top. This was part of why Aiko despised her. She brought up an entire multi-faceted company by becoming its CEO, ''then took on teaching Class 2-9 as a side job''.
** In the eyes of the Heavenly Host survivors, she gives off the appearance of something the Nirvana fathered as a replacement for Ms. Yui. This doesn't help when compounded with her martyr-like death in Chapter 10, where she makes a [[HeroicSacrifice sacrifice]] by fusing with the Sephirot of Knowledge, essentially playing a major part in saving the world, ''and'' opening the way for the rest of the cast to reach the Nirvana's core. Now replace the Nirvana with God, Kuon with Jesus, and the Nirvana's core with the Holy Spirit. [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything Notice the differences?]] And let's not get into the implications when she transfers Sachi's spirit into herself, ordering her to move on and be reborn.
** Another way of looking at it is [[VideoGame/Persona2 she’s the Philemon to the Nirvana/Witch Queen’s Nyarlathotep]].
* DidNotGetTheGuy: She has feelings for Satoshi Mochida. It makes her want to live, which in turn stops her aging process. But the Satoshi who returned from Heavenly Host doesn't share the memories of their time together, whatever happened that made Kuon fall in love. He came to care for her a lot, but could not love her due to the memories of Yui and the other victims.
* DyingAlone: And it is [[{{Tearjerker}} heartbreaking.]]
* {{Expy}}: For Yui Shishido. Her being an expy is actually part of the story.
* HeroicSacrifice: Dies trying to destroy the Sepirot of Knowledge.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: SubvertedTrope as she turns out to know ''more'' about what’s going on than the protagonists despite not being around for most of it.
* MysticalWhiteHair: Possibly overlapping with DiseaseBleach.
* RightlySelfRighteous: Her biggest flaw might be her acting like an absolute busybody to everyone. While her making a lunchbox for Satoshi while dropped from a helicopter is somewhat endearingly awesome, she's dictating Aiko's life, like what clothes she should wear, while Aiko can't really deny her judgement because she's always right, leans more toward a well-intentioned but unwittingly dismissive helicopter parent.
* SenseiChan: Ridiculously attached to her students, but especially Satoshi.
* TooGoodForThisSinfulEarth: Her gift comes with rapid aging. She'd never live for long, though falling in love with Satoshi stopped the process until it became clear her love was unrequited. She took it with grace.

!Magari Mizuki

[[quoteright:296:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/c0504945_95c8_4541_84a0_9ef576157d4d.png]]

-->Voiced by: Creator/MaayaUchida

A mysterious girl from Martuba's Tomb who appears to the cast, and has a mean-spirited, somewhat ''murderous'' personality. She has an affinity for dolls and somewhat has the looks of one. It's unclear what her goals are.
-----

* AmbiguouslyEvil: Her intentions are not fully clear, but she's definitely not friendly towards Ayumi or the main cast. The only reason she helps them out is because as a Shinozaki, only Ayumi is implied to be able to gain control of the Book of Shadows and without Ayumi, the Nirvana can't be suppressed.
** ''Cemeterary0'' does away with the ambiguity, she and Martuba's Tomb are straight-up evil.
* AxeCrazy: With scythes!
* BigBadWannabe: Seeks the Book of Shadows for her own purposes but loses to Misuto and the Nirvana.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Mind, Magari doesn't actively try to hide her awful personality. She just likes frills, soft colors, lace, ribbons, etc. Anyone who mistakes her fashion sense for her being approachable only has themselves to blame.
* ConvenientlyAnOrphan: She was left with the Tomb of Martuba, so her biological parents probably wouldn't have minded all the things Magari gets up to, but still. Her caretaker, Waldo, is more of a butler and takes orders from ''her''.
* CreepyDoll: It's still not clear whether Magari is human or something else, and if her doll-like appearance and affinity for dolls is a coincidence or not. At least she looks the part of a murder doll.
* {{Deconstruction}}: A creepy one for the concept of {{magical girl}}s. At an early point in the game, after beating up two thugs who were bullying a girl, she turns on the girl and nearly chokes her to death to satisfy her bloodlust.
-->"Moe!♪ Moe!♪ Magical PEW!!♥"
* [[DoesntKnowTheirOwnBirthday Doesn't Know Her Own Birthday]]: Because her parents abandoned her as an infant on the doorsteps of Martuba's Tomb and never contacted her again, there's no way for Magari to know her birthday.
* EnemyMine: Played with. She states often that she's Ayumi's enemy, and near the end of the game she reveals she's taken effective control of Martuba's Tomb (more out of practicality) and has ulterior motives that involve the Book of Shadows. However, she strongly dislikes Misuto and desires to kill him herself, so she's been helping Ayumi behind the scenes while she's been unlocking the pillars.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: During her VillainousBSOD, it's revealed that she never wants Waldo to leave her and sees him as her "rock".
* EvilCounterpart: To Naomi. They’re both hotheaded and very attractive girls, but Magari is downright ''[[AxCrazy brutal]]''.
* GetAHoldOfYourselfMan: Does this to Ayumi in Chapter 7.
* SinisterScythe: Her weapon of choice.
* SmugSnake: She has an unpleasant attitude and disregard for nearly everyone.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Her combat gear and only be described as a "Dominatrix magical girl" as the front leaves her cleavage and navel exposed while still managing to find places for frills.
* TwinTails: Has long, blonde pigtails, tied up with light pink ribbons.
* VillainousBSOD: In Ex Chapter 08 (taking place after the end of the game's story) she returns to the Martuba's Tomb HQ to discover that nearly all of the organization was killed (including the founder) or fled when the Entity Walls started going up, she returns to her mansion and breaks down crying, [[AllForNothing having devoted her life to the group]]. Waldo comforts her and she pledges to rebuild the order.
* VillainousRescue: Rescues Ayumi from the Kraken... ''thing'' in the pool.
* VillainRespect: Both Ayumi Shinozaki and Kuon Niwa manage to earn Magari's respect. And while not explicitly stated, Magari seems to have some regard for the other survivors.

!Misuto Kiriya

[[quoteright:114:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/0cfc5169_fdfe_40ff_bfb5_424f55449b55.png]]

-->Voiced by: Jun Ōsuka

The mysterious young man who suddenly appears in front of Ayumi and tells her that she can bring her friends back to life if she retrieves the Book of Shadows.
-----

* BigBad: Is behind most of the things that occur in ''Blood Drive''. Though he gets killed long before the end, so he winds up being a BigBadWannabe.
* DiskOneFinalBoss: Even when he’s defeated, there’s still the Nirvana to deal with.
* EvilCounterpart: To Yoshiki. They both deeply care for thier respective love interests (who are even sisters), but Misuto wants to destroy humanity in order to avenge Hinoe.
* FalseFriend: Although the gifts of gum suggest he did care about Ayumi at some level at some point in time.
* FashionVictimVillain: He looks absolutely ''ridiculous'' by the relatively realistic standards of Corpse Party, and doesn’t even have Magari’s justification of being into a specific type of fashion.
* FreudianExcuse: His grandfather was considered a heretic in the magic world, his parents committed suicide and were subsequently slandered by the media, and he was hounded by reporters until he snapped and lit a reporter on fire. When he finally finds someone who treats him with kindness, she is [[RapeAsDrama assaulted]] for it. Unsurprisingly, this made him hateful enough to want revenge on the world.
* HiddenDepths: Despite his disdain for everything and everyone else, he seems to genuinely love and respect Hinoe, regarding her as a "superior being". The very mention of her is enough to bring cracks to his demeanor.
* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: There's rarely a time where he doesn't put down Ayumi or anyone else he encounters.
* KickTheDog: Not only does he kick Satsuki down a set of stairs, but he mocks her and takes photos of her broken body.
* LastOfHisKind: The sole survivor of the Yagoura clan.
* OffWithHisHead: By Satsuki.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Looks no older than the teenage cast, but is actually 25.
* SmugSnake: He makes no secret of his disdain for pretty much anyone who's not Hinoe, and has no compunctions in using and [[KickTheDog verbally and physically abusing others to reach his goals]].

!Mio Yuzuki

A first year student at Paulownia Academy. She's an admirer and friend of Sayaka as well as part of her planned-for harem.
-----

* MuggleBestFriend: She was possessed by a ghost when she was introduced in the ''Corpse Party: Book of Shadows'' light novel, so that does imply she has some spiritual power. But if so, it seems to still be far below what Naho, Sayaka, Haruyuki, and Aiko possess. When Naomi and Satoshi come to Paulownia to inquire about Aiko and the others, Mio outright says that they must be in severe trouble and that she knows she's useless to do anything for them.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: Like most Paulownia students, her first appearance is in the ''Corpse Party: Book of Shadows'' light novel. Unlike all other Paulownia students, she did not go on to make significant appearances after that. Even though she's one of Sayaka's closest friends and on good terms with the others too. Her "appearance" in ''Blood Drive'' is without portrait and her voice actress is uncredited.

!Mirai Yamamura
-->Voiced by: Saori Oshiyama

A member of the Wicca Institute and a colleague of Hinoe Shinozaki.
-----

* FalseFriend: One of two, but in her defense, she was threatened into doing it.
* SequelHook: The only thing that could explain her peculiar inclusion in ''Blood Drive''.

!Sachi Shinozaki
-->Voiced by: Yui Kondo

As can be gathered from the name, Sachi is related to Sachiko. Specifically she is her vanishing twin, of which upon birth only two teeth remained lodged inside Sachiko near her heart. The teeth were surgically removed, and Sachi has been a ghost ever since.
-----

* AxeCrazy: It's her weapon of choice too.
* BackupTwin: She's one for Sachiko, who's no longer available as an antagonist. Well, maybe a little worse.
* BlackEyesOfEvil: Not a good look in combination with the SlasherSmile.
* CreepyChild[=/=]CreepyTwins: Sachi only operates alone, but she's still a twin.
* EvilCounterpart: To Yuka. Both are “little sister” figures, but Sachi is murderously jealous of her sibling.
* EvilTwin: ''Relatively'' speaking, although she too has points of sympathy going for her.
* EvilWearsBlack: Sachi is the girl in black. Sachiko is the girl in red. Together they are RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver.
* MeaningfulName: "Sachi" is technically not her name, as she was never born to receive one. "Sachi" is a placeholder based on her sister's name.
* SeparatedAtBirth: It's complicated. They don't actually ever consciously meet, but they've been near each other several times.
* SiblingRivalry: She's angry at Sachiko for being the only one who got to be born, for absorbing her in the womb, and for having her two teeth removed from her body. Actually leads to a heartbreaking moment when Ayumi tells a "dying" Sachiko she's a good girl. Sachi witnesses the scene and calls it unfair that Sachiko gets to be a good girl. Doesn't stop her from being an antagonist, but still.
* SlasherSmile: And it's on by default!
* TheToothHurts: Unconventional example of the trope. After dying and being absorbed by Sachiko in the womb, all that remained of Sachi was two teeth lodged inside Sachiko near her heart. These threatened her health and so were surgically removed. As the closest Sachi has to a body, her ghost stayed with them until they were brought to Heavenly Host, where the environment created for and by Sachiko allowed her more freedom.

!''ZERO''
[[folder: CORPSE-PARTY ZERO introducees]]
''CORPSE-PARTY ZERO'' (and its two remakes that only exist as demos) is a fan game set as a prequel to the original 1996 ''CORPSE-PARTY''. It was released in full shortly after the 2006 ''Corpse Party'' remake's first chapter. The creator of ''Corpse Party'' liked the game so much that he canonized the two female leads and some of the events of the game. Also canonized are the two male characters that were added to the first remake demo, ''CORPSE-PARTY ZERO -Rebuilt-''. However, ''Corpse Party'' itself also added two male schoolmates of the four as corpses, which were then added to the second remake demo, ''CORPSE-PARTY-0''. As such, the ''Zero'' depiction of these last two is a fan interpretation (by the people who made the previous ''Zero'' games, mind you) rather than AscendedFanon. Regardless, all six are included here because explaining the situation is difficult enough as it is ''with'' all the facts present.

!Kaori Hasegawa

A student of either Kisaragi Academy (''ZERO'') or Tendo Senior High School (''Corpse Party'') as well as brains and beauty all in one. Kaori is part of the student council and loves ghost stories.
-----

* CoolBigSis: Adored by little sister Shiho but Kaori fails to keep to the standards in the haunted school/Heavenly Host.
* HimeCut: [[DownplayedTrope Almost perfect but not quite there]] in both of the trope's aspects. She has the length and sidelocks but her bangs aren't even, and the enjoyment she finds in scaring people with horror stories is too mischievous to fit.
* NightmareFetishist: {{Subverted}}. Like Ayumi, she enjoys scaring people with horror stories, but being in one is not her idea of fun times.
* SurvivorGuilt: ''If'' Kaori survives there are three possible outcomes. Best case scenario, she keeps acting like Shiho is still alive until she breaks down mentally. Alternatively, she starts telling the ghost story to other students to send them to Shiho so she won't be lonely. Other alternative, she commits suicide and becomes a new ghost to haunt the school.
* TeamMom: In ''CORPSE-PARTY-0'' for a short while.

!Shiho Hasegawa

A student of either Kisaragi Academy (''ZERO'') or Tendo Senior High School (''Corpse Party''), Shiho is a longtime classmate of Masayuki. She adores her big sister, but hates ghost stories.
-----

* AgeLift: From 15 in ''CORPSE-PARTY ZERO'' to 16 in ''Corpse Party'' and 17 in ''CORPSE-PARTY-0''. The reason for this was so that the new characters could be her classmates without being too far apart age-wise from each other themselves.
* AllJustADream: The one good ending of ''CORPSE-PARTY ZERO'' turns out to be nothing more than Shiho's dying dream of escaping with her sister.
* BreakTheCutie: Upon death, Shiho becomes a red spirit out of anger that Kaori left her behind and/or because Kaori failed to survive.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: Shiho looks vastly different in ''Corpse Party: Musume'' from her ''CORPSE-PARTY ZERO'' look. Presumably, this was done because the manga explains the significance of the yellow ribbon, which wasn't done in ''CORPSE-PARTY'' and it's that hole that got Shiho to have it in ''CORPSE-PARTY ZERO''. As such, there had to be made a visual distinction between Shiho and Sachiko-with-yellow-ribbon.

!Hideki Tachibana

A student of either Kisaragi Academy (''ZERO'') or Tendo Senior High School (''Corpse Party''), Hideki is the student council president. He's highly respected at school, a realist, and among the best-graded students.
-----

* AgentScully: Hideki is close with Kaori and Kyosuke and the both of them are occult enthusiasts. Hideki does not believe in such nonsense. When coming face to face with a talking skeleton, he has to let Kaori do the talking because he doesn't understand anything anymore.
* NotAsYouKnowThem: Hideki was a supernatural enthusiast in ''CORPSE-PARTY ZERO -Rebuilt-'', but his profile, role, and design all went to Kyosuke Himonya in ''CORPSE-PARTY-0''. The change allowed Hideki to become partnered with Kaori rather than be a victim preceding her as he was in ''CORPSE-PARTY ZERO -Rebuilt-''.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: In the ''CORPSE-PARTY ZERO'' remake demos, he's Hideki Tachibana. But in ''Corpse Party'', he is Tachibana Hideki. The latter is an error, but still the canon version.
* StudentCouncilPresident: Of either Kisaragi or Tendo.
* TeamDad: In ''CORPSE-PARTY-0''. Only for a short while, though.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: He's dead in ''Corpse Party'' and only alive in the ''CORPSE-PARTY ZERO'' remake demos. Fortunately for him, the remakes come with bonus room profiles.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: See NotAsYouKnowThem; Hideki's appearance in ''CORPSE-PARTY ZERO -Rebuilt-'' went to Kyosuke Himonya in ''CORPSE-PARTY-0''

!Masayuki Hayashi

A student of either Kisaragi Academy (''ZERO'') or Tendo Senior High School (''Corpse Party''), Masayuki is a longtime classmate of Shiho. He's a member of the student council despite his immaturity and a good friend of Yuuya.
-----

* BigBrotherInstinct: {{Subverted}}. He has romantic interest in Shiho, but everyone else sees him as a brother figure to her. Kaori essentially bestows him this role when the group gets split. He does promise to look after her in Kaori's stead.
* NotAsYouKnowThem: Masayuki was a talented sportsman in ''CORPSE-PARTY ZERO -Rebuilt-'', but his profile, role, and design all went to Yuuya Kumada in ''CORPSE-PARTY-0''. The change allowed Masayuki to become partnered with Shiho rather than be a victim preceding her as he was in ''CORPSE-PARTY ZERO -Rebuilt-''.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: He's dead in ''Corpse Party'' and only alive in the ''CORPSE-PARTY ZERO'' remake demos. Fortunately for him, the remakes come with bonus room profiles.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: See NotAsYouKnowThem; Masayuki's appearance in ''CORPSE-PARTY ZERO -Rebuilt-'' went to Yuuya Kumada in ''CORPSE-PARTY-0''

!Kyosuke Himonya

A student of either Kisaragi Academy (''ZERO'') or Tendo Senior High School (''Corpse Party''), Kyosuke is the student council accountant. He's a childhood friend of Yuuya. He tries to make his parents proud with great grades.
-----

* ChildhoodFriends: With Yuuya.
* LonelyRichKid: He does have friends, but he also "doesn't get cozy with the locals," believing that no one would like him if they knew him. Both his parents are powerful dignitaries.
* NightmareFetishist: He’s rather interested in the supernatural.
* NotAsYouKnowThem: Hideki Tachibana was a supernatural enthusiast in ''CORPSE-PARTY ZERO -Rebuilt-'', but his profile, role, and design all went to Kyosuke Himonya in ''CORPSE-PARTY-0''.
* StoicSpectacles: Wears round specs and acts distant to prove himself to his parents.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: He's dead in ''Corpse Party'' and only alive in ''CORPSE-PARTY-0''. Fortunately for him, the remake comes with bonus room profiles.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: See NotAsYouKnowThem; Kyosuke inherited his appearance in ''CORPSE-PARTY-0'' from Hideki Tachibana in ''CORPSE-PARTY ZERO -Rebuilt-''.

!Yuuya Kumada

A student of either Kisaragi Academy (''ZERO'') or Tendo Senior High School (''Corpse Party''), Yuuya is a pseudo-member of the student council due to his friendship with both Masayuki and Kyosuke.
-----

* AcademicAthlete: Avid member of the basketball club and his grades are good too.
* ChildhoodFriends: With Kyosuke.
* NotAsYouKnowThem: Masayuki Hayashi was a talented sportsman in ''CORPSE-PARTY ZERO -Rebuilt-'', but his profile, role, and design all went to Yuuya Kumada in ''CORPSE-PARTY-0''.
* OneSteveLimit: Averted with Yuuya Kizami from the canon games.
* PointlessBandAid: On his left cheek.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: He's dead in ''Corpse Party'' and only alive in ''CORPSE-PARTY-0''. Fortunately for him, the remake comes with bonus room profiles.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: See NotAsYouKnowThem; Yuuya inherited his appearance in ''CORPSE-PARTY-0'' from Masayuki Hayashi in ''CORPSE-PARTY ZERO -Rebuilt-''.

!Minor/Supplementary

[[folder: Minor Characters]]
!Natsumi Nakashima
-->Voiced by: Creator/SeikoYoshida

Naomi's mother.
-----

* AdultsAreUseless: Played with in ''Book of Shadows''. She doesn't believe anything Naomi says about Seiko and thinks that Naomi has simply created an imaginary friend. However, this is justified as Seiko was erased from existence following her death in Heavenly Host, and Natsumi does try to get help for her daughter by speaking with a psychiatrist, doing the best she can with the information she has.
* AlliterativeName: Both starting with "Na" just like her daughter.

!Haruna Kizami
-->Voiced by: Momoko Ōhara

Kizami's older sister.
-----

* CoolBigSis: Toyed with. Her [[AllThereInTheManual profile]] indicates she enjoys flower arrangement, but she is rather harsh toward her younger brother. Because said brother has a tendency to torture animals.
* HimeCut: Her bangs are spikier that what is normal, but she otherwise fits, having a stern and disciplined personality.

!Yukie Suzumoto
-->Voiced by: Creator/SeikoYoshida

Mayu's mother. She is sad about her daughter having to transfer and resents her workaholic husband for not protesting against his job transfer.

!Yuu Shinohara
-->Voiced by: Momoko Ōhara

One of Seiko's younger brothers.
-----

* PromotionToParent: In Book of Shadows, we see he is this to his younger siblings. It is unclear if he was always this or if the retcon of Seiko made him this.

!Miyu Shinohara

[[quoteright:150:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/corpse_party_miyu_shinohara.png]]

Exclusive to ''Corpse Party: Musume'', Miyu was with the First Five listening to Ayumi's horror stories and got sucked into Heavenly Host together with them, though she and Yuka were separated from the group in the process.
-----

* AssShove: Some tentacles get ''very'' intimate with Miyu.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: She's infatuated with Satoshi because Satoshi rescued her from a storage room predicament earlier.
* CombatTentacles: She was a victim of them.
* CoolBigSis: She and Yuka talked about how sisterhood would be a nice relation for them.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: Sodomized by a tentacle monster and subsequently beheaded.
* ADeathInTheLimelight: Chapter 3 of ''Musume'' focuses on Miyu. It's also the chapter in which Miyu dies horribly.
* DefiantToTheEnd: Even being bound and assaulted by tentacles won't stop Miyu from fighting back and protecting Yuka.
* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: Satoshi mentions she's popular among both boys and girls.
* {{Expy}}: For Seiko Shinohara with a dash of Mayu Suzumoto.
* GirlishPigtails: Part of her hair is done up in little pigtails with pink bows.
* HeroicSacrifice: She endured a gruesome death while ensuring Yuka would be safe.
* NeverGotToSayGoodbye: She was going to confess to Satoshi after the festival, but was killed before she got the opportunity. Even when she meets the others as a spirit, she's unable to express her feelings because of injuries she sustained when she was alive.
* NotEnoughToBury: Yuka was only able to hold on to Miyu's head.
* NotTooDeadToSaveTheDay: Miyu shows up twice as a ghost, once to guide her friends and once to protect them from all the other ghosts.
* OffWithHerHead: Standard fatal fate.
* PassionateSportsGirl: She is the best at whatever she does. As her classmates say, if she's on your team, you have already won the game.
* SacrificialLamb: Her death by a monster makes the others realize just how dangerous of a situation they're in.
* SailorFuku: Was wearing a sailor uniform when transported into Heavenly Host. It proves to be of little protection, unfortunately.
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: She has a crush on the friendly and polite Satoshi.
* TransTribulations: She mentions that some people have called her "weird", despite her friends being accepting, and it's outright shown in flashbacks that she was bullied for her gender presentation.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: She only lasted for a few chapters, and got very little characterization in that period.
* YouGoGirl: Miyu is popular with her classmates, who regulary come to cheer her on at sports.

!Saki Akagiri

Exclusive to ''Corpse Party: Another Child'', Saki is the ghost of a girl that was murdered for being a "demon child". She's a murderous ghost looking for a friend who'd understand her.
-----

* BigBad: Of ''Another Child'', since she’s the one who’s messing with Heavenly Host and killing Tamaki’s friends.
* BullyHunter: A supernatural version. Due to bullies ruining her life and causing her to die, she now despised and kills bullies whenever she can.
* CuteGhostGirl: Once Tamaki gets to know her and once she starts understanding that killing a potential friend's friends is no way to make friends.
* CuteMute: [[spoiler:She was mute when she was alive, which is one of the reasons she was bullied by her schoolmates, and why nobody helped her when she found her mother's corpse. It's only because of Tamaki having strong spiritual powers and being similar to Saki herself that allowed her to actually talk to Tamaki while in Heavenly Host.]]
* DisappearedDad: Only her mother is in her life.
* EvilWearsBlack: The fandom called her the "girl in black" as a counterpoint to Sachiko being the "girl in red". Then canon gave the title to Sachi Shinozaki.
* SlasherSmile: On the cover of the first volume and while puppeteering Minoru.
* ThousandYardStare: Does this occasionally to unsettle people.
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: And how! When alive, Saki had telekinetic abilities. She was ostracized and bullied for it. One day, she accidentally hurt her attackers by shattering a window nearby. The story went around rapidly and by the time she came home her mother had committed suicide from the stress. Then the parents of Saki's attackers came for her. She accidentally killed one in self-defense and was then beaten to death by the mob.
* {{Yandere}}: A platonic version to Tamaki. She wants to be with her forever and is willing to kill her friends and trap her in Heavenly Host.

!Mayuri Yoshimura

Exclusive to ''Corpse Party: Another Child'', Mayuri is part of one of two groups of Satsukiyama Academy students who went to Heavenly Host simultaneously. She has a spiritual powers and a dark past that she tries to deal with whichever way necessary.
-----

* AssholeVictim: She’s a freak who puts everyone in danger to avenge her bully friends, and most of the plot is her fault, but ironically she gets killed by the very person she was targeting. Considering all this, [[LaserGuidedKarma it’s hard to feel sorry for her]].
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Saki Akagiri murdered her entire former class. Mayuri wants revenge.
* ForeheadOfDoom: Part of her "just off" factor, along with PerpetualSmiler.
* ForegoneConclusion: Anyone who's played the game knows that, to escape Heavenly Host, at ''least'' two of the people who used the Sachiko Ever After charm have to be alive too. Everyone in Mayuri's group is killed very early on, making her chances of survival 0%.
* LonersAreFreaks: She’s a bit of a NightmareFetishist.
* MachoMasochism: Saki breaks one of Mayuri's fingers. Not long after, Mayuri breaks another of her own fingers to make a point.
* ManipulativeBastard: While she doesn't know exactly what her designs will lead to, much of what happens is to blame on her and she rolls with it just fine.
* NightmareFetishist: She actually finds Heavenly Host an amusing place to be in.
* PerpetualSmiler: Mayuri is unsettling in part because she rarely drops her smile. Only in moments where she has to deal with her deception being revealed or when caught off-guard does she change her expression, but the smile returns soon after.
* TheUnfettered: She's fully willing to make enemies in her pursuit of Saki Akagiri, the ghost girl who murdered her entire former class.

!Tamaki Minase

Exclusive to ''Corpse Party: Another Child'', Tamaki is part of one of two groups of Satsukiyama Academy students who went to Heavenly Host simultaneously. She has spiritual powers and is bullied, a combination that attracted the attention of Saki Akagiri, a powerful ghost, who wants them to be exclusive friends.
-----

* ActionSurvivor: Being protected by Saki is a definite improvement of her odds, though.
* ChildhoodFriends: With Yuuma Shindou.
* TheHero: The main heroine of ''Another Child''.
* ItsAllMyFault: Tamaki blames herself for the deaths of her classmates because the charm was her idea.

!Yuuma Shindou

Exclusive to ''Corpse Party: Another Child'', Yuuma is part of one of two groups of Satsukiyama Academy students who went to Heavenly Host simultaneously. He's a childhood friend of Tamaki Minase, whom he has a crush on.
-----

* ActionSurvivor: He survives several attacks by the ghost children.
* ChildhoodFriends: With Tamaki Minase and Shinichi Yanagihara.

!Shinichi Yanagihara

Exclusive to ''Corpse Party: Another Child'', Shinichi is part of one of two groups of Satsukiyama Academy students who went to Heavenly Host simultaneously. He's a good friend of both Yuuma Shindou and Tamaki Minase.
-----

* ActionSurvivor: He survives several attacks by the ghost children.
* ChildhoodFriends: With Yuuma Shindou.
* TheLancer: To both Yuuma and Tamaki.

!Erina Yuzuki

Exclusive to ''Corpse Party: Another Child'', Erina is part of one of two groups of Satsukiyama Academy students who went to Heavenly Host simultaneously. Erina is in love with Yuuma Shindou and because he likes Tamaki Minase, she makes her life hell.
-----

* AlphaBitch: With Yuma and Miyako as her posse and Tamaki as her target. That said, she's not that bad towards anyone who is not Tamaki.
* AssholeVictim: While not as bad as [[ManipulativeBitch Mayuri]], she’s still a bully, and the one who (unwittingly, but out of spite) invited everyone to their deaths. As a result she’s targeted by [[BullyHunter Saki]].
* BlondeBrunetteRedhead: The Blonde.
* FreudianTrio: The Superego/leader.
* GreenEyedMonster: To Tamaki for Yuuma.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She's the only one of her class who worried about Yuma skipping classes and went over to help her, despite other students living closer to Yuma. Erina found that Yuma lives in an abusive household and gave her practical advice as well as becoming her confidante. Her behavior towards Tamaki is due to romantic jealousy over Yuma, and Yuma outright tells her at one point that without him Erina and Tamaki would probably be friends. Also, the deaths of Miyako and Yuma are what trigger her Darkening and eventual suicide.

!Yuma Okita

Exclusive to ''Corpse Party: Another Child'', Yuma is part of one of two groups of Satsukiyama Academy students who went to Heavenly Host simultaneously. Coming from an abusive household, Yuma only looks out for herself and the girl who looks out for her: Erina Yuzuki.
-----

* AbusiveParents: Of the kind that uses frequent physical violence.
* AssholeVictim: The reason Saki targets her is because she bullies Tamaki. She also tries to kill Yuma [[{{Yandere}} to have Erina all to herself]].
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: Why she is 100% loyal to Erina and [[LesYay might have a crush on her]].
* BlondeBrunetteRedhead: The Redhead (well, Pinkhead).
* DefiantToTheEnd: Yuma is terrified of the prospect of her own death, but those ghosts shan't hurt Erina if they know what's good for them. Her anger actually catches them off-guard for a second or two.
* FieryRedhead: Again, pink rather than red, but same difference.
* FreudianTrio: The Id/right-hand man.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: Horizontally.
* MurderIsTheBestSolution: Nearly murders Yuuma, Erina's oblivious love interest and the reason she can't stand Tamaki, to get him out of Erina's life.

!Miyako Hayakawa

Exclusive to ''Corpse Party: Another Child'', Miyako is part of one of two groups of Satsukiyama Academy students who went to Heavenly Host simultaneously. She's a nice person, but that doesn't stop her from being a bully due to her loyalty to Erina Yuzuki.
-----

* AssholeVictim: The reason Saki targets her is because she bullies Tamaki. She’s also the one who told Erina about the charm, thus unwittingly inviting ten more people to thier deaths.
* BlondeBrunetteRedhead: The Brunette.
* FacialHorror: The only part of her torturous death not left ambiguous.
* FreudianTrio: The Ego/left-hand man.
* ItsAllMyFault: Miyako was the one who overheard Tamaki and Yuuma about the Sachiko Ever After charm and told Erina, who got ten more people involved in the charm. Miyako acknowledges that she carries a lot of the blame.
* NeverGotToSayGoodbye: There was a boy she liked who was with the other group. He was among the first to die. Miyako never got to tell him of her feelings.
* WithFriendsLikeThese: Miyako and Yuma are mostly friends because they are Erina's friends. Yuma doesn't take Miyako's death nearly as badly as Erina.
* YesMan: To Erina.

!Minoru Hasegawa

Exclusive to ''Corpse Party: Another Child'', Minoru is part of one of two groups of Satsukiyama Academy students who went to Heavenly Host simultaneously.
-----

* MeaningfulName: Minoru is a regular Japanese name, but it's also the Japanese adaption of the English word "minor". Coincidence for a character that has such a minor role?
* SacrificialLamb: His death (among others) by a ghost makes the remaining students realize just how dangerous of a situation they're in. More so than the corpses they'd already seen scattered around.
* ShoutOut: "Hasegawa" is the name of the female leads of ''CORPSE-PARTY ZERO'', a fan game that's been acknowledged by the canon.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: He's one of the five students that die almost immediately after entering Heavenly Host. At least his corpse was of use to the ghost that killed them.

!Eiko Matsuno

Exclusive to Chapter 4 of ''Corpse Party: Coupling X Anthology'', Eiko is a second year student at St. Catherine Academy High School. She's died in Heavenly Host a while back, but she still enjoys to take pictures with her new spirit powers.
-----

* CameraFiend: Dying and becoming a spirit has made her capable of storing images within herself and imprinting them where she pleases through spirit photography.
* TheChewToy: She may only appear once, but this is her whole thing. In only six pages, she stumbles upon Shimada while he's only just done peeing, is subsequently captured and touched inappropriately by him, escapes only to be caught by Kizami who wants to experiment on her to see whether ghosts feel pain or not, and escapes again only to bump into Morishige and accidentally imprint a spirit photo on his cellphone of Shimada with his pants down. She flies away in embarrassment.
* CuteGhostGirl: Despite her CameraFiend nature, she’s one of the nicer ghosts in Heavenly Host, especially considering [[CruelAndUnusualDeath what the other ghosts tend to do]].
