An adventurous water sportsman descended from a fisherman, who joins the team as Blue Three.
----
* {{Delinquent}}: He used to be a delinquent in his teen years, but was inspired to change his ways. His first encounter with Prince reminded him of those times.
* FragileSpeedster: Swift but not so durable.
* PunnyName: His Bioman codename is a pun on how the Japanese pronounce "Bruce Lee".
* ShockAndAwe: ''Elec Sword''
* TheLancer: As a former delinquent, he really cements himself in this position once Mika bites it.
* TheSneakyGuy: His years of diving have made him very nimble and thus he is very skilled in stealth techniques.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Mika Koizumi/Yellow Four I]]
!!Mika Koizumi/[[gold:Yellow Four I]] | [-Actor: Yuki Yajima-]

An Olympic archer who joins the team as the second Yellow Four after Mika's death.
----
* ActionGirl: Very much so, especially since her actress did her own stunts.
* [[TheBigGuy The Big Girl]]: Her actress was a professional stunt-woman, so the character participated in a number of stunts the others couldn't do including high jumps, rope swinging, and even riding on top of moving vehicles.
* LegacyCharacter: Took over for Mika as Yellow Four.
* MartialArtsHeadband: You don't ever see Jun without wearing one (and it fits [[TheBigGuy her role]] too). [[spoiler:Even one episode had this weaponized by the villains by replacing it with a time bomb!]]
* ShockAndAwe: ''Thunder Sword''
* {{Shorttank}}: Typically wears one, complimenting her tomboy personality.
* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: Jun is one of the top archers in the country and was a member of an Olympic team training for the next games. Her suddenly vanishing from society to become a Bioman does not go unnoticed and only an episode or two after she joins the group has her team wondering just where the heck she disappeared to and sends the team captain to go looking for her.
* TheStraightAndArrowPath: Is the only one of the Biomen to wield a physical weapon - a bow.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Tomboy athlete to Hikaru's Girly Girl.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Fears spiders.
[[/folder]]

* BarrierWarrior: ''Pink Barrier''.
* TheHeart: Embodies traditional feminine qualities and plays a lot of support roles.
* LaserBlade: ''Laser Sword''.

!!Peebo | [-Actor: Yoshiko Ōta (voice)-]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/peebo_ep2.jpg]]
An assistant robot from the Bio Star tasked with safeguarding the Bio Robo after its destruction.
----
* {{Expy}} Has a strong resemblance to [[Franchise/StarWars C-3PO]] mixed with a Franchise/KamenRider.
* GenderFlip: Even though he's technically a sexless automaton, he addresses himself as a male in the Japanese original. In the English dub however, he was made female.
* TheMentor: To the Biomen, though he's a tad more innocent and energetic than most.
* RobotBuddy: Was created to guard the Bio Particles and assists the Bioman in their missions.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Bio Robo]]
!!Bio Robo
----
* CombiningMecha: Composed of two jets (Bio Jet 1 and Bio Jet 2).
* HumongousMecha: Your standard Sentai-piloted giant robot.
* MechanicalLifeform: It is shown that Bio Robo has a will of its own when it runs away during Silva's first appearance.

[[/folder]]

!Neo Empire Gear
[[folder:In General]]
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ne_gear.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:250:"For the Man!"]]
A society of Mechahumans based from the South Pole who seek to conquer and enslave humanity.
----
* TheEmpire: [[InNameOnly Proclaim themselves to be one]], though they don't seem to have much territory outside of [[SupervillainLair Neograd]]. They do aim to expand their grip throughout the world.
* EnemyCivilWar: One occurs when [[spoiler:the Big Three learn of Doctor Man's hidden identity as a human and plot to overthrow him so the Gear can be ruled by true Mechahumans.]]
* GratuitousEnglish: Say "For the Man!" as their salute.
* KillerRobot: Their ranks are full of robots built for fighting.
* TheManBehindTheMonsters: The executives of the empire all look like regular humans.
* MidSeasonUpgrade: Doctor Man upgrades himself into Neo Doctor Man halfway through, and later gives each of the Big Three their own upgrades.
* NebulousEvilOrganization: An evil society of robots bent on conquering the world.
* OffscreenVillainDarkMatter: Considering Doctor Man is really [[spoiler:a regular human scientist who went crazy and abandoned his family]], one has to wonder where he got the resources to build a massive fortress in the South Pole, several HumongousMecha and a legion of MechaMooks.
* UndyingLoyalty: On account of being created by him, all members of the empire are unflinchingly loyal to Doctor Man. [[spoiler:Subverted when the Big Three revolt upon learning of Doctor Man's human origins. And then double subverted when Doctor Man crushes their rebellion and reprograms them to be completely loyal to him.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Doctor Man]]
!!Doctor Man[[spoiler:/Hideo Kageyama]] | [-Actor: Munemaru Kōda-]
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/doctor_man.jpg]]
The ruler of Gear.
----
* AmbiguousSituation: [[spoiler:Whether he deliberately led the Biomen to the Bio Particle bomb or did so unintentionally is a question that's brought up and left unanswered in the series. The Biomen, being idealists they are, believe the former.]]
* BadBoss: Is prone to zapping his subordinates whenever they do something to displease him. In episode 9, he zaps Farrah for simply questioning why he gave an order, after she already followed it.
* BigBad: The ruler of Gear and the one heading up their war on humanity.
* BoomerangBigot: [[spoiler:Despises humans while secretly being human himself.]]
* {{Cyborg}}: Revealed to be one as part of the MidSeasonTwist.
* CyberneticsEatYourSoul: Invoked this trope on himself to abandon human emotions and become a more calculating leader.
* DarkLordOnLifeSupport: It becomes apparent halfway through that Doctor Man's body is failing him, leading him to seek out a successor.
* EmperorScientist: He built the Neo Empire Gear himself and created their legions of robots, and has ambitions of ruling the entire world.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes:
** While he's cold towards his subordinates, he genuinely cares for [[RoboFamily his son]] Prince. [[spoiler:It becomes subverted though when Prince develops human emotions, at which point Doctor Man wipes his mind, deeming him a failure and sends him out on a suicide mission against the Biomen.]]
** Later on, [[spoiler:he tries to reconnect with his real son, Shuichi, to try and get him to be his heir. It's subverted again though when Shuichi rejects him and Doctor Man orders his forces to kill him, before converting himself into a full Mechahuman to remove his care for his son.]]
* MorallyAmbiguousDoctorate: That "Doctor" title certainly doesn't come from medical expertise.
* ProfessorGuineaPig: [[spoiler:Tested his device that increases intelligence on himself, only for it to backfire and turn him old.]]
* RedemptionRejection: [[spoiler:In his final moments Shuichi and the Biomen try to persuade him to embrace his human side again. Doctor Man refuses and ignores them, [[AmbiguousSituation or does he]]?]]
* SuicidalCosmicTemperTantrum: [[spoiler:Recognizing that he cannot win if King Megas fails, he linked it to a bomb in Neograd set to activate if King Megas is destroyed. It's powerful enough to blow up the Earth to punish humanity for not recognizing his brilliance.]]
* TakingYouWithMe: [[spoiler:After the Biomen defeat him in King Megas, he attempts to use a Bio Particle bomb to destroy the entire planet for not being able to rule it.]]
* VillainousBreakdown: [[spoiler:He's clearly [[SanitySlippage lost it]] in his final moments, which he spends giving a delusional rant about being a mechahuman while not recognizing his own son standing before him.]]
* WalkingSpoiler: It's pretty difficult to talk about him without bringing up his origins.
* WasOnceAMan: [[spoiler:Initially assumed to be a robot like the rest of the empire, he's revealed halfway through to have once been a human scientist, until an experiment went wrong and he converted himself into a cyborg to preserve his life, abandoning his humanity in the process.]]
* WeCanRuleTogether: [[spoiler:Tries to get his son Shuichi to join Gear and become his successor, but Shuichi refuses.]]
* WouldHurtAChild: In episode 15 his big plan is to infect scores of children with a deadly fungus, just to analyse how modern medicine is used to treat them, then refine the fungus to overcome any treatment. The children are just ''the test subjects.''
* YouHaveFailedMe: Oddly averted. While he is a BadBoss, he seems to be tolerant of failure in his subordinates and even repairs Zyuoh when he's destroyed in battle after Monster collects all his parts.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: [[spoiler:Despite looking very elderly, he's really only middle-aged at most, having caused himself to [[RapidAging rapidly age]] through an ExperimentGoneWrong.]]
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Mason]]
!!Mason | [-Actor: Hirohisa Nakata-]
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mason_bioman.jpg]]
The leader of the Big Three of Gear and Doctor Man's right-hand man.
----
* TheDragon: The go-to henchman for Doctor Man and leader of the Big Three.
* HeroKiller: Headed the mission that led to Mika's demise.
* MidSeasonUpgrade: Is upgraded to included rockets and missiles in his body.
* {{Sadist}}: Unlike Farrah and Monster, who favor stealth and power respectively, Mason seems to only want to cause as much suffering as possible.
* TheStarscream: After learning of [[spoiler:Doctor Man's human background]] he orchestrates a coup to overthrow him. [[spoiler:Only for Doctor Man to quickly retake power.]]
* ZerothLawRebellion: [[spoiler:Technically he was following his directives when he rebelled against Doctor Man. He was programmed to oppose humans and Doctor Man just so happened to be a human.]]
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Farrah]]
!!Farrah | [-Actor: Yōko Asuka-]
[[quoteright:228:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/farrah_8.jpg]]
A member of the Big Three.
----
* EvilGenius: Puts more emphasis on subtle plans than her teammates.
* FemmeFatale: Has no issues with going from womanly to deadly.
* MadScientist: Often the reason stealth was needed in her missions was so she could collect data and conduct experiments.
* MasterOfDisguise: Many of her missions involve her disguising herself as a human.
* SmugSnake: Tends to act rather condescending to her fellow Big Three, especially Monster.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Monster]]
!!Monster | [-Actor: Strong Kongō-]
[[quoteright:228:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/monster_93.jpg]]
A member of the Big Three, acting as their muscle.
----
* AdaptationNameChange: In the Phillipines' English dub, his name was changed to Fargo.
* BaldOfEvil: No hair all evil.
* TheBrute: Was built by Doctor Man to provide sheer power, and thus is most likely to use physical force in a fight.
* ButtMonkey: He's basically the PluckyComicRelief of the villains, and is one most likely to be zapped by Doctor Man and clowned on by the other members.
* DumbMuscle: Doctor Man even admits to Prince that he built Monster to be strong, but dumb.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Genuinely cares for his Beastnoid Zyuoh, to the point of collecting all his parts when he's destroyed so Doctor Man can repair him.
* PsychopathicManchild: Most of the time his stupidity equates to him acting like a giant kid. His alignment, however, makes it far worse.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Farrah Cat]]
!!Farrah Cat | [-Actor: Creator/YukariOshima-]
[[quoteright:176:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/081228_5a.jpg]]
Farrah's personal bodyguard and servant.
----
* DragonTheirFeet: [[spoiler:After Farrah is killed, Farrah Cat lasts until the final episode before being killed off. In fact, she last longer than any other recurring villains in the show (Aside from Dr. Man).]]
* EvilWearsBlack: Wears a black jumpsuit and is a villain.
* PostFinalBoss: [[spoiler:She makes one final attack on the Biomen after Doctor Man is fatally wounded with King Megas's defeat, but she proves nowhere near as dangerous, and it's made clear that other than Doctor Man's SuicidalCosmicTempterTantrum, Gear was finished with the previous battle.]]
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Mechaclones]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mechaclones_ep1.jpg]]
The robotic footsoldiers of Gear.
----
* MauveShirt: Mechaclone No. 1, who's the focus character of episode 28.
* MechaMooks: All of them robots produced by Gear, making them disposable goons that can be sacrificed with little cost.
* {{Mooks}}: The grunts of Gear.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Beastnoids]]
A group of five mechanical monsters used by the Big Three in missions.
----
* EvilCounterpart: Parodied in episode 31 when they do their own roll call to counter the Biomen's roll call.
* MonsterOfTheWeek: Averted. Rather than send out a new monster each episode, Gear instead uses the Beastnoids as recurring monsters on missions.
* QuirkyMinibossSquad: Gear's quirky and colorful team of monsters.
* TwoFaced: Psygorn can rotate his head to reveal different faces with different attacks.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Mecha Gigans]]
Giant robots that are sent out to fight Bio Robo.
----
* HumongousMecha: Giant battle robots.
* FinalBoss: King Megas is the final one, and the last opponent the Biomen face.
* MidSeasonUpgrade: Halfway through they're upgraded into the Neo Mecha Gigans.
* MonsterOfTheWeek: The Biomen usually have to face one each episode.
[[/folder]]

!Anti-Bio Union
[[folder:In General]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/anti_bio_union_logo_ep37.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:350:The logo of the Anti-Bio Union seen on Silva's belt.]]
A faction on Bio Star which opposed the use of Bio Particles, leading them to go to war with the Bio Peace Union 500 years ago.
----
* ItsPersonal: Gear only fight the Bioman because they stand in their way of conquering Earth. The Anti-Bio Union (Through Bio Hunter Silva) wanted to destroy them simply for having Bio Particles in them.
* VillainousLegacy: They're long gone when the series begins, but their influence still remains through their ultimate weapon, Silva. They also developed the Anti-Bio Particles, which were eventually used by Gear to claim the life of the first Yellow Four.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Have shades of this. The reason they went to war with the Bio Peace Union was because they feared the ability of Bio Particles to be used as a weapon.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Bio Hunter Silva]]
!!Bio Hunter Silva | [-Actor: Kazuo Hayashi-]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bio_hunter_silva.jpg]]
A robot built as the trump card of the Anti-Bio Union in their war against the Bio Peace Union. However, Silva followed his directive to the point of destroying the Bio Star itself. After spending 500 years wandering in space with his mecha Balzion, he comes to Earth to destroy the Biomen and finish off the last of the Bio Particles, completing his mission.
----
* BadGuysDoTheDirtyWork: [[spoiler:Silva ends up being the one responsible for the deaths of the Big Three. He fatally injured Monster, held Farrah in place while she was in Balzion so the Biomen could finish her off and killed Mason when he tried to fight him.]]
* BigBad: He reappears as one of the main antagonists of ''Film/KamenRiderXSuperSentaiSuperHeroTaisen''.
** DemotedToDragon: He also becomes one of the secondary antagonists in ''Film/KikaiSentaiZenkaigerTheMovieRedFightAllSentaiGreatAssemble''.
* BreakoutVillain: Arguably, one of the most memorable and popular villains in the history of Super Sentai. There's a reason he got brought back as the BigBad of ''Super Hero Taisen''. He's one of the few villains to receive representation in toylines long after the end of his series, with himself getting a special SHODO Super articulated figure and his mecha, Balzion, receiving a Minipla release; an honor that only the similarly popular [[Series/HyakujuuSentaiGaoranger Duke Org Rouki]] has been able to receive as well thus far.
* BladeBelowTheShoulder: Both which can be fired like arrows.
* CatchPhrase: Hakai! Hakai! Hakai! (Destroy! Destroy! Destroy!)
* ClimaxBoss: While the Biomen still have Doctor Man to fight after him, Silva is by far their toughest opponent once he regains Balzion. [[spoiler:It takes Peebo combining with the Bio Robo to finally take him down.]]
* TheDeterminator: He will complete his mission and destroy all Bio Particles, no matter the cost. [[spoiler:Even after Balzion is destroyed, he exits the robot to face the Biomen on his own.]]
* TheDreaded: He possesses Anti-Bio Particles that are more powerful than those used [[spoiler:to kill the first Yellow Four]] (Even though he doesn't manage to kill any Biomen with them). Peebo had a very good reason to fear him.
* EnemyMine: Defied. Doctor Man proposes one once he finds out Silva also wants to destroy the Biomen. Silva declines, before going a rampage through Neograd.
* EvilIsNotAToy: Doctor Man immediately takes an interest in Silva once he arrives and tries to get his hands on him and Balzion, [[spoiler:which leads to him losing most of his generals at Silva's hands.]]
* EvilLaugh: Prone to laughing as he's causing havoc.
* {{Expy}}: Based on Series/{{Kikaider}}'s nemesis Hakaider, being a gun-toting KillerRobot bent on fighting the heroes.
* GoneHorriblyRight: Was built by the Anti-Bio Union to be their trump card against the Bio Peace Alliance. Silva defeated them, but also destroyed the Bio Star itself.
* GreaterScopeVillain: Silva proves to be a far more imposing threat than the Gear Empire and played a part in the destruction of the Bio Star in the series' backstory, setting in motion the whole events of the series.
* HeroKiller: With the Anti-Bio Particles in his possession, he has the potential to kill the Biomen if he has the chance.
* HumongousMecha: Silva has Balzion, which was created to combat Bio Robo.
* KarmicDeath: [[spoiler:After weeks of trying to hunt down the Biomen for wielding Bio Particles, the Biomen use those particles to weaken Silva and Balzion and destroy them.]]
* KnightOfCerebus: When introduced, Silva gave off an aura of dread simply due to the fact that [[ManOfKryptonite he wielded Anti-Bio Particles]] and could cause trouble for both the Bioman and Gear.
* {{Leitmotif}}: Whenever Silva appears, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEi-nj8P0AM This Theme]] plays.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: He killed off more members of the Neo Empire Gear than the Biomen did.
* NotInThisForYourRevolution: The main reason Gear's attempts to ally with him always fail. Silva's sole goal is to eliminate Bio Particles, which means killing the Bioman and destroying Bio Robo. However, Silva does NOT have any intention of destroying Earth or humanity, nor will he cooperate with Doctor Man's plans to do so in order to get at the Bioman. Whenever he runs into regular people, he leaves them alone. Often, him coming to blows with Gear is because their evil plan of the day is counter-productive to just fighting the Bioman, and more than once he just leaves and lets the Biomen save the day. Of course, Silva's still dangerous because he won't balk at collateral damage in his fight either. After all, it's not like blowing up a few cities in attempting to kill the Bioman will end up destroying the planet or humanity.
* OneManArmy: Silva alone has caused more trouble to the Biomen than Gear, a full-fledged ''empire'', ever did. The Biomen themselves admit that between Gear and Silva, Gear are the lesser of two evils.
* TheRemnant: He's the last remaining member of the Anti-Bio Union, but that's not going to stop him from completing his mission.
* WildCard: Fights against both the Bioman and the Gear and has no loyalty to either side.
