!!The Cats
[[folder:In General]]
* ComicTrio: While stated in the front page, they share an ''WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy'' familiarity with having a fallible and [[KnowNothingKnowItAll out of touch with reality]] like Schemer, [[NoRespectGuy a only sane man]] who is powerless (even if Gordon can be the motivational or effective at times) and the [[CloudCuckooLander dingbat]] who [[TheBlindLeadingTheBlind does whatever he's told]].
* DisembodiedEyebrows: Gordon and Waffle have these.
* FurryEarDissonance: Mr. Blik and Waffle both have long stylized ears that are ''nothing'' like real cat ears. In Waffle's case, they are floppy and droop down backwards.
* IdleRich: Not that it's really their ''fault''... they're ''cats'', after all. ...anthropomorphic cats, however, so yes, maybe they could have jobs. One wonders if their hereditary money will ever run out...unless at least one of them knows how to invest in real estate or the stock market.
* InformedSpecies: Their resemblance to actual cats is almost non-existent. Gordon has the closest resemblance to a cat while Waffle and Mr. Blik look more like rabbit-looking things than anything.
* MadeOfIron: This being a slapstick show with all of them sharing a ButtMonkey status after all.
* TheNoseless: Despite being cats, none of them have any noses.
* PantslessMalesFullyDressedFemales: Double Subverted in the episode ''Slumber party'' as they dressed up like girls by wearing a dress until they got traumatized by the nasty girls. Usually, they wear nothing.
* PetHeir: Mrs. Cramdilly presumably never had kids and whatever happened to the rest of her family is unknown, so her money went to the cats.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Root beer.
* RichInDollarsPoorInSense: "When it comes to brains, they're a little bit thick!"
* SparedByTheAdaptation: [[spoiler:Gordon and Waffle die in ''Gear'', something the show's version of the characters don't suffer due to in no small part to NegativeContinuity]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mr. Blik]]
[[quoteright:180:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/blik.png]]
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/WayneKnight
The oldest one in the group. He's the smartest one.
----
* AdaptationalJerkass: He wasn't as assholish in the original comic as he is in the show. See CharacterExaggeration.
* AdaptationNameChange: He was named Mr. Black in ''ComicBook/{{Gear}}''.
* AntiRoleModel: Blik's not someone who should be looked up to or imitated.
* BigBrotherBully: He's prone to insulting, hitting, and bossing around Gordon and Waffle a lot.
* BigThinShortTrio: He's the Short to Gordon's Big and Waffle's Thin.
* CatsAreMean: In Blik's case, at least.
* CharacterCatchphrase: "Yeah!", "Sucker!", "I'm drivin'!" and "For I, and my ginormous brain..."
* CharacterExaggeration: In the original comic, Mr. Blik (then Mr. Black) was - at the absolute '''worst''' - ''somewhat'' impatient and sarcastic. In fact, he was the OnlySaneMan out of the entire cast of ''Gear''. The show turned him into a selfish, hot-headed, greedy, arrogant jerk. See AdaptationalJerkass.
* TheChewToy: While all three of the cats are subjected to slapstick, he's arguably put through hell the most and is the butt of the most jokes and misfortunes. Not to mention, the slapstick he endures is much more extreme than what Gordon and Waffle get.
* {{Expy}}: Being egotistical, greedy, short-tempered, and very surly and crafty essentially makes him a cat version of [[WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy Eddy]].
* FormallyNamedPet: ''Mr.'' Blik.
* GeniusDitz: He's an idiot, yet is somehow able to build a working robot replica of himself.
* HairTriggerTemper: He's ''very'' bad-tempered.
* ItsAllAboutMe: He's quite selfish and self-centered.
* JerkassHasAPoint: Rude and blunt as he is, it’s hard to argue that he isn’t right when it comes to Waffle and Gordon’s antics.
** In Mr. Pickles he claims that Gordon’s eating habits and Waffles destructive stunt deviling would tear the house apart without him in charge. And lo and behold that’s what happens when Blik leaves and Waffle and Gordon are in charge and realize that he was right.
** In Zombie Party a Go-Go! he doesn’t let Waffle help out with the party entertainment due to using real lasers for a laser light show, and when Gordon lets Waffle be in charge of making dip for the guests he uses the wrong book and instead of dip he creates a potion that brought zombies to life putting everyone in danger.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Mr.Blik is a selfish and short-tempered {{Jerkass}} who frequently abuses Waffle and Gordan. However, many episodes show he has a good side.
* KarmicButtMonkey: Blik is always on the receiving end of something bad or humiliating, and suffers the most slapstick out of the three, but needless to say, he deserves it for being such an ill-tempered {{Jerkass}}.
* LargeHam: Being voiced by Wayne Knight, he ''loves'' hamming it up.
* LittleBigBrother: The smallest one of the brothers despite the oldest.
* TheNapoleon: He's a pint-sized curmudgeon (though, the height part is justified as he's a cat).
* {{Narcissist}}: He's very vain, self-centered, and selfish.
* NeverMyFault: This guy will ''not'' own up to his own faults.
* NoIndoorVoice: To say he yells a lot would be the {{Understatement}} of the millennium. See LargeHam above.
* ParentalSubstitute: To Mitchell in "A Wooly Adventure".
* {{Pride}}: He's very arrogant and egotistical.
* ShipTease: With Katilda
* SmallNameBigEgo: He has a comically overly high opinion of himself.
* UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist: For one of the main characters, he sure is a surly, selfish, [[{{Narcissist}} narcissistic]] jerk.

[[folder:Gordon]]
[[quoteright:260:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gordon_cheer.png]]
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/RobPaulsen
The middle of the trio. He's got a crush on a Human Kimberly (for some reason)
----
* BigThinShortTrio: He's the Big to Waffle's Thin and Mr. Blik's Short.
* BigLittleBrother: Younger than Mr. Blik, but taller.
* CannotSpitItOut: When it comes to Human Kimberly.
* CartoonCreature: We don't know breed he is besides that he's either a manx or bobtail.
* CharacterCatchphrase: "Great Gopher!", "Aye!", "In the name of the Highland Quid Clan", "Cheer!" and "Foul creature..."
* CompositeCharacter: Arguably for the ''ComicBook/{{Gear}}'' version of his character and for Simon (a fourth cat who was ''not'' carried over to the show); he has the personality and coloring of the former but the eating habits and physique of the latter.
* EarlyInstallmentCharacterDesignDifference: In early episodes, his size varied often and his eyes were a different color.
* FunnyForeigner: Subverted; he's not actually Scottish, he just acts like he is.
* LittleBigBrother: To Waffle.
* LoveMakesYouDumb: He can get impulsive when it comes to Human Kimberly.
* OnlySaneMan: Of his brothers. While Waffle goofs around and Mr. Blik bullies, he is usually serious and rational.
%%* TheSpock
* TeamChef: He cooks a lot. Typically some manner of appalling ForeignQueasine.
* UnexplainedAccent: He has a Scottish accent despite his brothers having American accents.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Waffle]]
[[quoteright:270:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/waffle.png]]
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/KevinMcDonald
The youngest and he ain't the brightest bulb in the box.
----
* AntiVillain: When he starts acting "evil" because Blik told him he was in "EVIL!", he's still rather amiable.
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: The youngest of the cat brothers.
* BerserkButton: Waffle is very vocal about his dislike of liars. While normally goofy and laid-back, he will often lash out whenever he's lied to. Usually, it's directed towards Mr. Blik. He also hates cheaters.
* BigLittleBrother: The biggest of the brothers and the youngest.
* BigThinShortTrio: He's the Thin to Gordon's Big and Mr. Blik's Short.
* BuffoonishTomCat: Due to him being TheDitz out of the feline trio, Waffle can be prone into slapstick from [[TheKlutz being an klutz]] as well.
* CharacterCatchphrase: "Splee!", "Woohoo!", "And Waffle!", and "Liar!"
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Considering he one time ate a meal of nothing but salt and thinks unicorns lay eggs, he qualifies.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: When Waffle has to drive Gear in a race against the Chumpy Chump Boys due to height regulations, he's at first completely useless. Then, his pet newt Gomez ends up on the Chumpy Chumps car. He then becomes a ridiculously good DrivesLikeCrazy driver, who can even ''steer with his tail''. He also has been shown to put up a decent fight against his brothers when angry. When he was tricked into thinking they were mice he beat them to the point of making them run for their lives, and he attacked Mr. Blik for stealing the title of "King of All Root Beer" from him by cheating and was shown to dominate most of their fight.
* TheDitz: Easily the dumbest of the brothers.
* {{Expy}}: While he was not overall intentional with being a exported character, he seems to resemble [[WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy Ed]] with sharing a relation of exhibiting oddball nature and being a [[KindheartedSimpleton kindhearted ditz]] as well
* FriendToAllLivingThings: He's able to make friends with all sorts of animals except for bees and bears, it appears.
* GeniusDitz: Waffle is much smarter than he seems. Every so often, he'll define a rarely heard word like a dictionary and can be surprisingly quick on his feet when it comes to plans. He also builds a working robot replica of himself in "Mecha-Kitties".
* IdiotHero: He has his heroic moments, like in "Bringing Down the Mouse".
* KindheartedSimpleton: Waffle may be TheDitz, but he's still kind and good-natured.
%%* TheKirk
* {{Manchild}}: He's an adult in cat years, but has the mindset and behavior of a toddler.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: After Mr.Blik cheats to win the title "King of All Root Beer" and the benefits that come with it, Waffle goes ballistic and attacks him during the parade being held for Blik. He and Mr. Blik get into a fight, and for the most part Waffle was winning until Gordon tried to break them up.
* SesquipedalianLoquaciousness: A rare example of TheDitz having a case of this. A minor running gag in the show is him casually dropping a rarely heard word and then giving a near perfect dictionary definition when his brothers express inevitable confusion.

Mrs. Cramdilly's English butler that her cats inherited
----
%%* AmbiguouslyGay
%%* ButtMonkey
%%* TheChewToy
* DeadpanSnarker: Especially to Mr. Blik, though it's hard to blame him.
* DreadfulMusician: On the tuba.
* HiddenDepths: He's a hidden genius, even building his own robot to make his job easier.
* TheJeeves: The butler who frequently plays the OnlySaneMan to the cats.
* NotSoAboveItAll: Hovis normally acts reasonable and clever enough, but he tends to make snarky comments whenever he finds a way to throw jabs at Mr. Blik, such as joining the fun of calling him "Mr. Pickles" when his fur turned green.
%% * OnlySaneEmployee
* OldRetainer: Before working for the cats, he used to work for Mrs. Cramdilly. When she passed away, her cats inherited his services.
* PerpetualFrowner: He almost always frowns; though, he has smiled at times.
* ServileSnarker: He's the loyal butler of the cats, but that doesn't stop him from snarking at their expense.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Human Kimberly]]
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/LilianaMumy
[[quoteright:160:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kimberly_5.png]]
An 8-year old girl who Gordon has a crush on.
----

* AllGirlsLikePonies: As long as they're unicorns, that is.
%%* AmbiguouslyBrown: Her skin is slightly dark. Her ethnicity is unclear.
* BerserkButton: She Invoked the rules for [[ChromosomeCasting ''Girls Only'' sleepover]] in ''Slumber Party''.
* CheerfulChild: A child, and an optimist at that.
* ChildishToothGap: To signify her youth.
* DamselInDistress: In ''Unicorn Club'' and ''Core-Uption''.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: Bears notwithstanding.
* GirlNextDoor: She lives close by the main characters and Gordon has a relentless crush on her.
* MoodSwinger:
** In ''Unicorn Club'' where she becomes (justifiably) angry at Gordon and even yells at him but then ''immediately'' reverts back to her cheerful self.
** In ''Slumber Party'', she shifts back-and-forth between being exasperated with/hostile toward the cats for crashing her party and being caught up in having fun at said party.
* NiceGirl: Kind, forgiving, and looks out for the well-being of others.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: She was the only female major character in the earlier episodes before Katilda arrives unless you count the Root Beer Lady which she is not a major character.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Probably a Girly Girl to Katilda's Tomboy.
[[/folder]]

!!Other Animals
[[folder:Katilda]]
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/HyndenWalch
A girl cat with her hair in pigtails.
----
* AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal: She wears two red ribbons on her brunet hair.
* TheBigGirl: She is strong and energetic.
* HumanoidFemaleAnimal: Played Straight as she looks a little bit like an Asian lady.
* SavvyGuyEnergeticGirl: She is energetic to all the male felines' Savvy Guy.
* TheSixthRanger: She arrives on the scene at the tail end of Season 1.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: A Tomboy to probably Human Kimberly's Girly Girl.

%%* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: To Blik.
%%* StalkerWithACrush
%%* {{Tsundere}}
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Barkmeat]]
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/ClancyBrown
A really funny lookin' stray dog.
----
* BewareOfViciousDog: Barkmeat is a scary looking pitbull with a rather dark, aggresive mood.
* BigShadowLittleCreature: How Barkmeat is shown first when Waffle meets him. He still is not to be messed with.
* CardCarryingVillain: Barkmeat is from a human viewpoint a standard, homeless, troublesome dog, but he plays up this trope [[spoiler: to convince himself that he is more important and untouchable than he really is.]]
* DiabolicalDogCatcher: His view of dog catchers in general. His wariness is not completely unfounded - while Barkmeat is able to bully bystanders, a dogcatcher is trained to deal with him and possibly would end up putting to sleep a dog with a personality like Barkmeat's.
* TheDreaded: Barkmeat's attempts of making himself known seem to work well - Blik and Gordon immediately know who he is, once they see him, and show their fear.
* FantasticRacism: While cats like Blik have shown their low opinion of dogs before, Barkmeat shows that this is active from the dog side as well -- stronger even. In his viewpoint, cats are pests that need to be eaten.
* {{Gonk}}: Due to the exaggeration of his pitbull features.
* {{Hellhound}}: Is not actually one, but plays up the aspects of one to appear more fearsome.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: Downplayed, he only wants friends that are dogs like him. [[spoiler: At the end he commends Waffle for not being so bad for a cat, but otherwise breaks off their friendship.]]
* LargeHam: Due to his tone it sometimes overlaps with ColdHam.
* MoreTeethThanTheOsmondFamily: Especially visible in the scene, where he pulls a VolumetricMouth gag to attack Blik and Gordon.
* NobleDemon: [[spoiler: Shows this twice, when he chooses to let Waffle free him from the pound, instead of mauling him for actually being a cat and later on when Hovis frees him and the cats, Barkmeat opts to make a threatening final speech, before departing and leaving the cats alone.]]
* OddFriendship: Makes a temporary one with Waffle, until the latter ends up proving that he's not a dog.
* OneShotCharacter: Appears only in "Off The Leash".
* PetTheDog: Almost literally, Barkmeat accepts Waffle into his pack due to believing that he is a weirdly-smelling dog. Afterwards the two are shown genuinely having fun doing dog stuff and various street thug level misdeeds.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Audrey]]
The trio's mom.
----
* InformedSpecies: Well, fur coloring, anyway. A calico doesn't look like she does.
* MissingMom: So far, we only see her in a photo of the trio when they were kittens. ''Ghosts of Cramdilly'' implies she passed away (or, otherwise, left the mansion) some years before the show.
* ReallyGetsAround: TruthInTelevision, as cats are a rather promiscuous species. That said, the show mentions they trio have the same mom, but it mentions nothing about their dads.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: We see a little of her in each of her kittens: Mr. Blik inherited her ears, Gordon got her patch on his eye, and Waffles got her stripes.
