The main protagonist of the series, Yugo was the son of a mercenary who was killed during a conspiracy revolving around Tylon. He is the leader of a resistance group of zoanthropes against Tylon called W.O.C. (World of Coexistence), a group dedicated to lessening the [[FantasticRacism racial stirs]] between humans and zoanthropes and oppose Tylon, and was a former boxer. He adopts Kenji as his younger brother. He's upbeat, brave, and has heroic tendencies, but can be stubborn, hot-headed, and a bit naive.
-----
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: At first. He mellows down throughout the series.
* BackToBackBadasses: With Gado in the ending of ''Bloody Roar 1'', whom both managed to take down Tylon Corporation with their own fists. Also with Fang in the ''Bloody Roar Extreme V-Jump Book''.
* BadassBiker: As seen in the opening cinematic of ''Primal Fury''.
* BoxingBattler: From ''Bloody Roar 2'' onward, Yugo is a professional boxer, who also uses a combination of martial arts and street fighting. In combat, he's more of an MMA style fighter, though he largely favors boxing as his primary means of attack.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Goes from a hot-blooded, head strong son of a mercenary, to being a brother-figure to an orphan and professional boxer to provide the both of them with a living, and then the CEO of the World of Co-Existence with the intent to ease tensions between Zoanthropes and Humans. [[{{Flanderization}} Then there's his portrayal in the fourth game.]]
* GuestFighter: Yugo pops up in ''VideoGame/DreamMixTVWorldFighters'', a Mascot Fighter featuring characters from Konami, Hudson, and Takara.
* HotBlooded: Best heard in his voice in the Japanese versions of ''Bloody Roar 2'' and ''3''.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: With Gado, who had been an old war buddy of his father Yuji.
* JigglePhysics: A rare male version, seen during a cutscene in [=BR4=].
* LightningBruiser: He's fast, has stamina, and hits like a ton of bricks which allows for devastating combos. The guy's a professional boxer for a reason.
* NobleWolf: Can transform into a wolf and is the hero of the series.
* NotBloodSiblings: To Kenji.
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent: A ''boxing'' werewolf.
* PlayingWithFire: Invoked during his [[LimitBreak "King of Breakers" beast drive]], which is a high-speed punching barrage while his fists are on fire. The final blow blasts his opponent up in flames.
* RapidFireFisticuffs: Yugo's got a quick set of hands and can whittle down his opponent's health just as fast with nonstop barrages. Taken to literal extremes during his "King of Breakers" beast drive from ''3'' onward.
* SeriesMascot: The closest thing the franchise has, save maybe CatGirl Uriko.
* WillTheyOrWontThey: There's a lot of ship teasing between him and Alice.
** This gets dropped in ''Bloody Roar 4'' in favor of shipping between Yugo and Nagi, and hastily so. Needless to say, people didn't take that too kindly.
* XMarksTheHero: Yugo's got a scar that intersects across the bridge of his nose, though it's never explained how he got it.

!!Alice Tsukagami/Nonomura (the Rabbit)
!!!Voiced by (Japanese): Creator/MikaKanai (1, 2, 3), Ruri Asano (EX, 4)\
Voiced by (English): Donna Mae Wong (1, 2), Kimberly Forsythe (3), Creator/JenniferHale (EX), Rumiko Varnes (4), Creator/KayliMills (2 Re-Dub)

Kidnapped as a small child by Tylon, she was converted into a zoanthrope and later rescued before she could be brainwashed. Months later, she enters the tournament to fight against Tylon and rescue the other hostages, during which, she rescued Uriko. As a show of gratitude, Mitsuko adopted Alice as part of the family. She thus works as a nurse and an advocate of W.O.C. who tries to keep Yugo in line and steps in when something dangerous happens. She is kindhearted and cares deeply for others, and works unconditionally in treating their wounds, although as gentle as she is, and as much as she dislikes violence, [[{{Tsundere}} her patience can only go so far at times for Yugo's life-risking antics]].
-----
* AliceAllusion: Alice turns into a white rabbit.
* ArtisticLicenseBiology: The legs of her beast form are digitigrade like a canid's - while rabbits ''can'' stand on their toes in a digitigrade fashion, they don't do it constantly like she does, implying her legs are structured like that naturally rather than being plantigrade like a real rabbit's.
* AssKicksYou: In the first game, she has an aerial drop attack she can do on a downed opponent while in her Beast Form. In the later games, the final hit of her "Bunny Love" Beast Drive involves a playful butt bump.
* BadassAdorable: In [=BR1=], where she's 16. By the time of ''Primal Fury'', ShesAllGrownUp.
* ButNotTooForeign: Alice's father was Japanese, while her mother was an American of German descent.
* CoolBigSis: To Uriko. When Tylon kidnapped her ([=BR1=]), Alice risked her life by entering the tournament to rescue Uriko... [[LittleMissBadass at 16!]]
* GirlishPigtails: Until Primal Fury/Extreme. Complete with blue hair.
* HappilyAdopted: By Mitsuko, as thanks for helping her save Uriko in the original game.
* HospitalHottie: In later games, especially [[http://www.fightersgeneration.com/characters/alice-ex.jpg her appearance in Primal Fury.]]
* KickChick: Nearly half her moveset involves kicking. Appropriately enough, her lagomorphic beast form has powerful hind legs to serve the same purpose.
* KillerRabbit: A near [[LiteralMetaphor literal example]], given her beast form; though she isn't the BloodKnight kind.
* MeaningfulName: Alice, which refers to her kind and noble nature, given that it means "Of the nobility". Surely, she is very kind towards Yugo. It also has to do with its connection to ''Literature/AliceInWonderland''.
* NotBloodSiblings: To Uriko.
* SignificantWardrobeShift: In ''Primal Fury'' onwards, her entire appearance was changed to give her a more "cool young woman" feel as opposed to the "bubbly teenager" look of the first three games.
* SlapSlapKiss: With Yugo. In ''2'', she beats him up just to patch his wounds afterward. In ''Extreme/PF'', she goes through the tournament just to slap Yugo and call him out for being so reckless, only to reconcile immediately afterward.
* ThemeNaming: Most of her named attacks are rabbit themed. Such as her "Rabbit Slide", "Rabbit Spiral", and "Rabbit Step Hammer".
* WhatTheHellHero: She slaps Yugo and chews him out for getting her involved in the events of the Beasts' Tournament', during her ending for ''Primal Fury''.
* WillTheyOrWontThey: She had moments of ship tease with Yugo, but it was ultimately left hanging in part 4.

!!Alan Gado (the Lion)
->Voiced by (Japanese): Barry Gjerde (1), Monty [=DiPietro=] (2), Chris Wells (3, EX), Creator/AkioOtsuka (4)\
Voiced by (English): Barry Gjerde (1), Monty [=DiPietro=] (2), Chris Wells (3), Creator/PaulEiding (EX), Murray Johnson (4), Bill Rogers (2 Re-Dub)
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_99.jpg]]
A legendary mercenary, his journey to seek out his former war buddy Yuji had led him to Tylon's morbid experiments and focused on taking them down. In doing so, he had encountered a young orphaned girl he named Shina, and adopted her as his daughter. Later on in the war against Tylon, he grows saddened on the ongoing racism between humans and zoanthropes and works toward becoming a leader in the movement towards uniting the two races. He appears intimidating and imposing, but is really understanding and kind-hearted, especially to his daughter, whom he worries for a lot -- especially during those times she bites off more than she can chew (and prompts him to come rescue her).
-----
* AnimalMotifs: His hair resembles a lion's mane, which is fitting since he transforms into one when he unleashes his beast power.
* BadassArmfold: Is often seen with this pose.
* BadassBiker: His outfit in ''Bloody Roar 3''.
* BloodKnight: In the first game; his ending shows him unsure of what to do with himself now that Tylon is finished and there are no more battles to fight, before he ultimately decides to return to the battlefield because it's the only place he feels alive, promising to have many stories to share with Yuji whenever they meet again in the afterlife. He mellows out considerably between the first two games, however, and spends the majority of the series working hard to try to ''end'' fighting, at least between zoanthropes and humans.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Goes from a BloodKnight in ''Bloody Roar 1'', to being on the run and more sophisticated in ''2'', to becoming a representative of Zoanthropes in ''3'' and is considerably less violent (although he's still among the toughest in the series). Think Beast from ''ComicBook/XMen''.
* CoolShades: In ''3''.
* CulturedBadass: In addition to having experience as a mercenary, he is a man of diplomacy and intelligence, delivering speeches to crowds on unifying both the Zoanthropes and Humans. He also enjoys a nice cold glass of brandy.
* DrillSergeantNasty: He doesn't grant Shina any special favors just because she's his adopted daughter. In [=BR2=], when she suspects him of working with the ZLF, and implies she'll take him down if he is, he challenges her to back it up.
-->'''Shina:''' If I find out you're one of them...\
'''Gado:''' You'll what..? Take me on? [[BringIt Now I'll have to see if you're qualified to talk like that.]]
** Though in ''Bloody Roar 4'', he does let on to Mana that he does care deeply for her, despite not being blood related, and smiles when Mana got him to admit it.
* FinalBoss: He was just another character in [=BR1=], but in [=BR2=], he becomes the final boss for everyone (later games demote him back to normal). Despite so, he remains a noble figure; the bad guy is always Busuzima.
* HandicappedBadass: His left eye is blind but once he starts fighting against you... yikes.
* HiredGuns: Gado was a mercenary in his younger days and uses his combat skills in the ring.
* InspirationalInsult: Gado's harsh upbringing make him unable to say sympathetic words, so he motivates people by mocking and provoking them into fighting him.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: With Yugo, the son of his now-deceased friend Yuji.
* KingOfBeasts: He can transform into a lion, and after retiring from his mercenary lifestyle became a high-ranking commissioner in the United Nations, leading the movement for Human and Zoanthrope coexistence.
* LastNameBasis: Everyone addresses him as "Gado," never by his first name, Alan.
* LivingLegend: After years of outstanding service both on and off the field, he's built quite a reputation for himself. Which is why the ULF (United Liberation Front, an organization dedicated to establishing peaceful coexistence between zoantrhopes and humankind) recruited him as their spokesperson from [=BR3=], onward.
* OlderAndWiser: Starting from [=BR3=], as seen in the preceding entry.
* QuitYourWhining: Gado delivers this to Stun in [=BR2=] (who is still depressed about being experimented on by Busuzima). He calls Stun a coward and tells him to stop being [[{{Wangst}} wangsty]]. [[GoneHorriblyRight It works too well]], Stun stops mopping around and decides to clobber Gado for his trouble. This is part of Gado's plan, though, [[InspirationalInsult to make Stun realizing that his human heart and will to live remains exist despite his mutation]].
* ParentalSubstitute: For Shina.
* PantheraAwesome: His beast form is the lion.
* RetiredBadass: A former mercenary, turned peacekeeping representative for the ULF.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: His comrade Yuji was killed before the events of ''Bloody Roar 1'' by Tylon Corporation, prompting Gado to work together with Yuji's offspring (Yugo) to take them down.
* RuggedScar: On his left eye no less. Doesn't stop him from kicking ass.
* [[SilverFox Silver Lion]]: He's 50 years old in the fourth game, but still looks [[{{Hunk}} fairly good-looking]].
* TakingTheBullet: Done in Jenny's ending from ''Primal Fury''. She regains consciousness, sometime after Gado saves her from Stun and finds she's outside with Gado collapsed on top of her, in exhaustion. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PHk8clBygQ Several bullet holes]] can be seen in his back when she passes her hand over them.
* WillTheyOrWontThey: The series subtly implies that his partnership with Jenny may not be ''strictly'' professional.

!!Jin/Shin Long (the Tiger)
->Voiced by (Japanese): Creator/RyoHorikawa (1, 2), Creator/RyotaroOkiayu (3, EX), Naoki Bandō (4)\
Voiced by (English): Jimmy Nochol (1), Edward [=McCloud=] (2), Dario Toda (3), Creator/LexLang (EX), Chris Wells (4), Creator/KaijiTang (2 Re-Dub)
[[quoteright:285:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/longicon_9042.jpg]]

Torn by the death of his mother and sister and neglected entirely by his father, Long ran away from home and trained himself, leading to Tylon recognizing his incredible fighting skill and powerful beast form to enlist him as among their top assassins. At one point, however, Long had cut himself loose from Tylon suddenly and went on his own way, leading him to be branded as a traitor and hunted by his former employer. After successfully cutting all ties from Tylon, he hid himself in seclusion to meditate while living a hermit life. Uriko had eventually found him, and through his agreement to train her, he eventually also came around and returned to the public. He had thus began to focus on how to repent for all the murders and deeds he committed while he was an assassin, as well as make up for the guilt he has for killing his sister while in his beast form. While under Tylon's orders, he is considered cold and calculating, but after he dropped his ties to them, he has shown himself to be much calmer and more soft-spoken, displaying an intelligent but calculating nature. After murdering his sister, he resents his beast side and considers his blood cursed. He was used by Tylon to bring forth his clone Shenlong.
-----
* TheAtoner: To atone for the sins he committed, while working with Tylon, he sealed himself away deep in the mountains where the world would no longer have to live in fear of him. [[spoiler: Until Uriko came to him in hopes that he'd train her so she could become strong enough to save her mother, Mitsuko.]]
* BadassLongRobe: Many of his character designs feature one.
* CursedWithAwesome: Long hates his zoanthrope genetics for the rifts it's torn in his family - between his father being consumed by researching it and blames himself for [[spoiler: once having lost control of his power, during which he killed his sister.]]
* DifficultButAwesome: Mastering Long takes time, patience, and lots of practice because of his "6-way combo ring" system (both "Hawk" and "Tiger", which are interchangeable). When you do, he lives up to his name and can execute some of the longest and most devastating combos in the game.
* HeelRealization: For years, he was one of the Tylon Corporation's insiders and served as their top assassin. It eventually dawned on him that Tylon wasn't trying to help zoanthropes control their power, they were using them in cruel experiments to turn them into living weapons... and he'd been helping them to do it. [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone Once the realization sank it]], Long couldn't do it anymore. He quit.
* {{Kiai}}: Invoked during most of his attacks.
* KiManipulation: Long's neutral throw blasts the opponent across the ring with Ki, and during his [[LimitBreak "Tiger Laceration"]], he projects a spirit form of his beast power.
* LastNameBasis: Everyone refers to him by his last name only.
* LongHairedPrettyBoy: Long actually looks quite attractive.
* MartialPacifist: He prefers to avoid senseless violence and conflict, when possible.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: This effectively sums up Long's reaction upon realizing Tylon's true intentions and the fact he'd been helping them. Years prior, he another such moment when [[spoiler:he regained his senses after losing control of his beast power and realizing he had just murdered his own sister.]]
* PantheraAwesome: He can transform into a tiger.
* RapidFireFisticuffs: Seen in his "continuous gem bombardment" finisher.
* ProfessionalKiller: Prior to the start of the series, he was one of the Tylon Corporation's top assassins.
* {{Pun}}:
--> "It's been so ''long'' since I was that scared."
* TheRival: In a subversion of the trope, while Long is cast as Yugo's rival, he doesn't go out of his way to compete with him. The two are said to be equals, which seems sufficient enough as far as either of them are concerned.
** A more straight example belongs to Shenlong, who is his clone. Though like Yugo, they do part after ''Bloody Roar 2'' on mutual terms.
* ScaryShinyGlasses: Sometimes his glasses shine creepily in some cutscenes.
* SecretCharacter: In ''4'' for reasons unknown.
* TheStoic: Combined with StoicSpectacles, except in the second game.
* SuperpoweredEvilSide: His beast side shows some signs of this in the first game, it presumably being the reason he lost control and [[spoiler:killed his sister]] when he was younger, and with his beast side taunting him over not accepting it as an inherent and important part of himself in his ending. This is never brought up again afterwards, however - presumably in the five years between the first two games, which he spent living as a hermit in a cave, he was able to beat it into submission.

!!Ryuzo Kato/Bakuryu I (the Mole)
->Voiced by (Japanese): Creator/FumihikoTachiki \
Voiced by (English): Erik Bergmann

One of Tylon's top assassins, all he wanted was to become the most powerful zoanthrope in the whole world, and thus he allowed Tylon to perform countless experiments on him to increase his abilities. Although he proves to have incredible strength, this does not bode well for him, as the experiments have left his body unstable, making him die an incredibly painful and unnatural death when his body melts and liquifies into pus. The remains of his tissue were kept by remnants of Tylon and later used to create Kohryu. Kenji had also been brainwashed to become an incarnation of sorts to Bakuryu, even sharing his name.
-----
* BackFromTheDead: [[spoiler: As Kohryu. See ''Bloody Roar 3'']].
* DeaderThanDead: If being liquified doesn't count, nothing will.
* ImMelting: His ending in ''Bloody Roar 1'' had him decompose into goo due to his molecular structure being unable to sustain himself with the zoanthrope powers.
* LegacyCharacter: Though Bakuryu is gone, he lives on through his successor and his robo-clone.
* {{Ninja}}: The first in the franchise, though far from the last.

!!Hans 'Fox' Taubemann (the Fox)
!!!Voiced by (Japanese and English): Samantha Vega
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/foxhumanbr.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:300:[[labelnote:Click here to see his beast form]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/foxanimalbr.jpg[[/labelnote]]]]

A lost child found on the streets, he developed a disturbing love and lust for blood and gruesome killing methods, eventually leading Tylon to adopt him. As he grew up, he became one of Tylon's top assassins, and among the most ruthless and vicious. He is a very vain man whom holds high praise and interest in his own beauty and sexiness. However, he considers his beast form to be incredibly ugly. Due to censorship issues, Fox could also be female.
----
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Between everything else, he also acts like a male DarkActionGirl.
* CreepyCrossdresser: He is a very athletic serial killer that dresses in very feminine clothing, to the point his gender was changed to not confuse some players.
* DudeLooksLikeALady: Depending on where you live, he ''is'' one.
* HemoErotic: He loves [[ItsAllAboutMe himself]], blood, and out of everything... [[TrademarkFavoriteFood chocolate bars]].
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: He immediately regrets killing his mother and goes mad from it in his ending. Not helped by Tylon Corporation's fall, leaving him unemployed.
* PinkMeansFeminine: Doubles as RealMenWearPink.
* PutOnABus: Despite the promising ending, he never appeared in any future installments in the series. Made egregious considering one of the heavily-requested zoanthropes to appear in ''Primal Fury/Extreme'' was a fox, but has not received as much as a glance. Is a popular fan theory that he was DrivenToSuicide after killing his mother, but the game is vague about his fate.
* ShesAManInJapan: He's a really feminine man in Japan and America, but a really [[{{Tomboy}} masculine woman]] in Europe.
* SelfMadeOrphan: In his ending, he encounters his mother, who is ashamed of herself for not taking the chance to give Fox a better life. He gleefully rips her to bloody shreds -- and only then realizes [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone who she was...]]
* TheFightingNarcissist: He prides himself as the most beautiful fighter. This gets to the point that he hates morphing into his Beast Form, simply because he sees it as ugly (despite the fox being one of the more attractive beast forms in the first game).

!!Mitsuko Nonomura (the Boar)
->Voiced by (Japanese): Ako Mayama\
Voiced by (English): Anet Tarpoff

A zoanthrope who lived in secret among the humans with her daughter Uriko. When Uriko had been kidnapped, Mitsuko relentlessly pursued Tylon to rescue her. While doing so, Alice had assisted in rescuing Uriko as well, and out of gratitude Mitsuko adopted Alice as her own daughter. Later on, she was jumped by a group of men from the Zoanthrope Liberation Front and kidnapped, eventually being rescued by both Uriko and Alice. She is a very hardy woman who is no-nonsense, serious, and strict, but is shown to have incredibly strong love and care for her daughters.
-----
* ActionMom: When the Tylon Corporation kidnapped Uriko, Mitsuko took matters into her own hands to get her back.
* AssKicksYou: Has this in the form of a dash attack.
* BrawnHilda: A big, muscular woman who turns into a boar.
* DotingParent: She cares deeply for both of her daughters, though Alice is adopted.
* FanDisservice: If she wins, occasionally she'll mimic Alice's victory pose of blowing a smooch in the air. Considering [[BrawnHilda her]], not exactly the person you'd think of for smooch.
* MamaBear: Mitsuko didn't take Uriko's abduction lying down. Probably also why she went down and defeated by Shenlong, by the time that happened, Uriko has been rescued, Mitsuko's drive has been kind of lowered by that time.
* MusclesAreMeaningless: {{Averted}}. She's one of the strongest characters of the game, and can throw down just as much as the rest of the cast.
* PutOnABus: Despite playing key role in Uriko's story mode of ''Bloody Roar 2'', she has not been made playable since the first game. She is at least ''mentioned'' after the first game, though, which is better than Fox, Greg or the first Bakuryu get.
* TheWorfEffect: The same woman who took on some of the toughest competitors in the previous game, gets soundly thrashed by some of Tylon's {{mook}}s in the beginning of [=BR2=]. Justified that those mooks got the assistance of Shenlong, and it is also to show how much danger Shenlong presents. That and since Uriko was safe and sound by that time, Mitsuko couldn't channel her inner [[MamaBear Mama Boar]] well unlike the first game.

!!Gregory Jones (the Gorilla)
->Voiced by (Japanese and English): Barry Gjerde

A huge, lively, artistic man who loves the performing arts and thus is motivated to start his own circus. His circus, however, eventually teeters over bankruptcy, which prompts Greg to frantically find something to bring his circus back up to its former glory. While searching, he witnesses Yugo's transformation into a wolf and relentlessly seeks him out in hopes he can convince Yugo to become an attraction for his zoanthrope powers, unaware he himself is also a zoanthrope. When he finally confronts Yugo, he finally realizes this fact, and, with Yugo's advice, uses himself as his own main attraction to bring back business to his circus.
-----
* MightyGlacier: More so than Gado.
* OneHitKill: Has the wind-up punch move which takes a long time to charge. If used correctly, it will instantly knock out an opponent, regardless of how much health they have left.
* RaceLift: The Playstation port of ''Bloody Roar'' has him white, whereas the arcade version gave him darker skin.
* ShooOutTheClowns: He is the least serious character, and also the most out of place in the first game, given that he isn't directly antagonistic towards anyone (not even Tylon), and only cares about saving his business from bankruptcy. His status as a joke character is then taken over by Uriko and Busuzima in later games.
** PutOnABus: Thus he was never playable in the rest of the franchise.
* TomatoInTheMirror: It isn't until much later he finds out he's a zoanthrope, despite how many times he transformed.

!!Uriko Nonomura (the Half Beast)
!!!Voiced by: Marina Ōno (2, 3, EX), Yūki Hamano (4)\
Voiced by: Mo Mellady (2), Bianca Allen (3), Creator/JenniferHale (EX), Lynn Harris (4), Creator/KiraBuckland (2 Re-Dub)

Uriko was one among numerous children who were kidnapped by Tylon for experimentation, particularly due to her zoanthrope genes inherited from her mother. She was brainwashed and transformed into the ultimate beast, known as Prototype Uranus, but she was later defeated and rescued. When her mother, Mitsuko, was kidnapped, she attempted to transform into the form she took in the past, but the experimentation had left her beast form in an unstable state, transforming her into a were-cat instead. In desperation, she sought out Long and became his pupil in learning how to become strong enough to save her mother, eventually gaining help to do so from Yugo and the others. She later joins up with Yugo and Alice's duties against Tylon out of boredom of the mundane life she has otherwise. She is childish and bubbly and prone to making a few random outbursts, and she is also very clumsy.
-----
* AssKicksYou: Connecting her "Dance of the Pheonix" Beast Drive on a midair opponent ends with her landing on them butt-first. She also has a back-turned strike, and a ground chain (Punch, Punch, Back + Punch, Punch) which has a butt bump as the first and third hits, respectively.
* [[BeastMan Beast Girl]]: From the second game onwards, where she turns into a cute CatGirl. Notably averted in the first game, where she can transform, but [[http://static2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080524195502/bloodyroar/images/e/e4/UrikoAnimalBR.jpg her beast form]] looks like a cybernetic young woman instead of a beastly little girl. And her [[http://static1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110811153625/bloodyroar/images/d/d4/UrikoUltimateBR.jpg other]] OneWingedAngel form doesn't even come close to looking human anymore, and instead looks more like a male demon.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: In the first game.
* CatGirl: Obviously, though only from the second game onwards. In the first, her OneWingedAngel forms were a rather human-looking creature and a big honking monster.
* CirclingBirdies: Every time Uriko uses her Beast Drive: Surprise Cat Pounce. Little stars and birdies start circling around her head at the end of her special move.
* CreepyChild: [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/urikohumanbr_6113.jpg In her debut]].
* CuteClumsyGirl: Seen in one of her win poses, where she trips and {{faceplant}}s on the floor. After which, she sits up and rubs her nose in embarrassment.
* CuteKitten: Her personality has shades with this, helped by the fact she can transform into a cat.
* DifficultButAwesome: Like her sifu, her effectiveness is heavily dependent on mastery of her "6-way combo ring" system (both "Phoenix" and "Cardinal Gods Five Layers"[[note]]unlike Long's, hers ''aren't'' interchangeable[[/note]]). Moreso, since entering her commands improperly, or simply mashing on the buttons, can cause her to lose balance - which the game treats as Uriko being staggered. But, if you have the patience to actually learn how to use her... see the LethalJokeCharacter entry below.
* TheDreaded: According to Tylon's research, Uriko has the potential to become the most powerful zoanthrope of them all. And, if her ending in Primal Fury is any indication, her latent beast powers as a Prototype Uranus [[OhCrap may be returning!]]
* EmotionlessGirl: in her debut, a cross between a GenkiGirl and a {{Tykebomb}} in all her appearances afterwards.
* FinalBoss: In the first game.
* {{Flanderization}}: While she's always been ditzy, she makes up for it by being incredibly skilled in Kung-fu. ''Bloody Roar 3'' and ''Primal Fury/Extreme'' had her participate in the tournament out of boredom, but part 4 took it to extremes by making her seem scatterbrained.
* FragileSpeedster: Her endurance is the worst in the franchise, but her movement and attack speed are among the best.
* GenkiGirl: Shown in her pre-fight animation, several of her attacks (including one where she runs up her opponent's body and kicks the back of their head as she switches sides with them), and the aforementioned win pose.
* HalfHumanHybrid: As a half-beast, she's only partially a cat. Semi-subverted in 4, since while she remains the same otherwise, she is then referred to by game terminology as a full-fledged cat, supposedly to avert confusion with Nagi's beast form.
* LethalJokeCharacter: When Uriko's moves are done correctly, that bubbly cat girl that trips over her own feet will buzzsaw through your health in record time with [[DifficultButAwesome elaborate combos and attack strings]]. The joke part gets extremely emphasized in ''Bloody Roar 4''
* LittleMissBadass: When she wants to be.
* OlderAlterEgo: In the first game, her Prototype Uranus form ages her from a child to a young woman.
* OneWingedAngel: In the first game, she transforms from a human into the Prototype Uranus to fight you, ''and'' turns into a big honking monster partway through the fight.
* NotBloodSiblings: To Alice.
* PowerDyesYourHair: Her Prototype Uranus form in the first game turns her naturally brown hair green.
* PowerFloats: In her debut as Prototype Uranus.
* RedemptionDemotion: In the first game, she was the BrainwashedAndCrazy FinalBoss, and the only character in the game to have two beast forms (justifiably so: a little girl usually doesn't make for a very strong opponent). In the second game onwards, she was saved and returned to normal, but at the cost of losing the ability to turn into the Prototype Uranus or the Chimera, instead only being able to turn into a CatGirl.
* SNKBoss: In her debut, she had many of the same advantages as Uranus.

He was a child who grew up in an isolated village that worshipped an Earth God and remained almost entirely isolated from the urban cities. He had lost his parents at a young age and was adopted by Bakuryu to be trained with the intention of becoming his successor. As he grew up, he worked with Bakuryu and even earned his title while working as an assassin alongside his mentor for Tylon until its fall. When the original Bakuryu had died, the boy had been left in an amnesiac, near-vegetative state trapped in a ruined building, where Yugo found him, adopted him, and eventually named him "Kenji". While he grew up with Yugo, he was eventually kidnapped by Tylon and brainwashed to pick up his former life as Bakuryu once more until Yugo rescued him and the brotherly love they shared had made him revert to his more peaceful life as Kenji. Since then, he uses his skills to assist Yugo, while he also has occasional run-ins with Kohryu over mastery of Bakuryu's techniques. As an assassin, he is a cold, uncaring, vicious fighter who shared no emotions. While he still seems hesitant to express much emotions as Kenji, he is also more toned down as caring, wise, shy, and curious.
-----
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: In his debut.
* DeskJockey: In ''Extreme/PF'', he is the Co-Chief of the W.C.O., and Yugo challenges him to the tournament to make sure he is not out of practice.
* ElementalPowers: Kenji's ninpo takes various forms, including:
** BlowYouAway: his Dragon Sword special launches the opponent with a blast of leaves and air from below.
** PlayingWithFire: Invoked in his Double Inferno beast drive.
** ShockAndAwe: Shadow Bound has Kenji immobilize his opponent by jabbing the ground, which summons a lightning bolt from below.
* FragileSpeedster: He's extremely fast, but ties with Uriko for having the lowest stamina in the game. Which can potentially spell disaster against [[LightningBruiser hard hitting opponents, like Yugo]]... who happens to be Kenji's end boss fight in ''Primal Fury''.
** LightningBruiser: Of course, his Beast Mode is hard-hitting ''and'' fast. Unlike combo-based characters, Bakuryu's Beast Mode has plenty of high-damage one-off attacks, making him rather easy to use (though still fragile).
* HappilyAdopted: with Yugo.
* LegacyCharacter: The mantle of Bakuryu. It first belonged to OldMaster [[ProfessionalKiller assassin]] Ryozo Kato, before being passed on to his apprentice, Kenji Ogami.
* {{Ninja}}: Kenji not only dresses the part, he's got the moves and the usual tropes associated with it.
** NinjaLog: Invoked when he teleports and during his second VictoryPose.
** NinjaRun: Kenji's run animation is a textbook example (see the page image of the related trope).
* RedeemingReplacement: The first Bakuryu was a top assassin from Tylon. This one is a NiceGuy.
** SmokeOut: Via smokebombs.
** TeleportSpam: In addition to being able to teleport freely around the ring - he also teleports during his command throw (striking front and back), and it gets taken up a notch, during his "Magic Spear" beast drive.
* ProfessionalKiller: Kenji was another of Tylon's assassins, until Yugo found him among the ruins of the Tylon building and gave him a new life as his adopted brother.
* ScarfOfAsskicking: It's over 3 ft. long!
* SchmuckBait: Invoked by his Flying Line Drop, wherein he creates a body double, which disappears. If the victim falls for it, they're left temporarily immobilized as the real Kenji [[DeathFromAbove strikes from above.]]
* ShipTease: With Uriko. Oddly enough, their relationship is slightly more stable than Yugo and Alice's SlapSlapKiss dynamics.
* SpinningPiledriver: Both his Shadow Moon Drop, and the finisher of his "Magic Spear" beast drive, which begins with [[PetalPower an explosion of leaves]].
* WallRun: Strangely enough, he doesn't need to be near a wall, he uses the edges of the screen.
* WeakButSkilled: What he lacks in striking power is more than made up for with technique, cleverness, and misdirection. Kenji also has one of the most complex movesets in the game, requiring a fair amount of finesse to play properly.

Originally one of Tylon's top researchers, he was a friend and rival to Busuzima and believed that his research would be used to save lives. However, when he learned of the true intentions behind Tylon, he was captured and used as Busuzima's experiment to create a man-made zoanthrope. This experiment had made him a unique case of becoming an insect-based beast, but it was also due to this that his body became so unstable that he was mutated beyond recognition, and he was plagued with constant searing pain unless given a special stabilizer only Busuzima could supply. Since then, he has sought out a way to try to gain back his humanity. He also has a bitter hatred for both Busuzima and the whole of Tylon. In Primal Fury, Stun had died when his body had been almost entirely destroyed by the aftereffects of the experiments, but Tylon had used the remains of his undamaged cells to create a clone of him (which did not go well). In 4, however, [[NotQuiteDead Stun came back to life]].
-----
* AmbiguouslyJewish: His family name is "Goldberg", though it's the only thing that hints at him potentially having Jewish ancestry.
* BlessedWithSuck: He may have an awesome tank of a beast form, but with constant never-ending pain, a horribly mutated body, and an inevitable fate of being slowly and surely destroyed from the inside out...
* CameBackWrong: his clone in ''Primal Fury and Extreme.'' The real him shows up in the ''4'' game however.
* EldritchAbomination: His human form constantly degrades itself to a point he must nearly use his entire body up, due to the instability of his insect form.
* FaceOfAThug: The real Stun is creepy due to his deformed body, but he's [[CreepyGood nicer than he looks]]. Mana even lampshades this in the fourth game.
* GoodCounterpart: Sort of, the original Stun to [[MadScientist Busuzima]].
* ImmuneToBullets: Or at least his clone is, as the bullets fired at him in his ending had no apparent effect on him.
* ItsPersonal: Stun really hates Buszima for what he's done to him. He hated him so much that even his clone in ''Extreme/PF'' carries on the hate even after his demise.
* LightningBruiser: In ''Bloody Roar 2'', although not so much in the lightning part. He degrades to more of a MightyGlacier in later games, complete with his expanded mass.
* MovesetClone: Of Mitsuko. In fact, both Stun and Jenny below recycles moves from [=BR1=] characters.
* OneManArmy: In his ending from ''Primal Fury'', he tanks machine gun fire from King Orion's guards, then proceeds to mow down all of them. [[ThisCannotBe The expression]] on King Orion's face [[OhCrap sums it up.]]
* {{Retcon}}: His ending in ''Bloody Roar 2'' had him become a vigilante where he'd absorb the blood of criminals as a suitable substitute to sustain his living. Sadly, this is not mentioned in the third game.
** In the beginning of Primal Fury and Extreme, his body deteriorated beyond repair, to a point he had to be cloned from his remains instead of revived. Even then, the clone had 30% of Stun's body and brain cells, and thus can't remember a thing Stun could, can't function, and was only focused on destroying everything. By 4, the (very much alive and well) real Stun appeared, complete with a fairly normal and audible voice (previous games had his voice inhumanely distorted due to his vocal cords also being deteriorated). No effort would be made to explain why this is so or what happened to the clone from Primal Fury and Extreme.
* ToughBeetles: His name makes it ambiguous, but his beast form is visually very reminiscent of the Japanese rhinoceros beetle, and through the majority of the series he's commonly played as something of a MightyGlacier.
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: His clone.
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: For some reason, he knows many wrestling moves, and fills the role as the grappling character. Sharing his name with a [[Wrestling/{{Goldberg}} couple]] of [[Wrestling/StoneColdSteveAustin famous wrestlers]] at the time probably had something to do with it.

!!Jane/Jannu/Jeanne 'Shina/Marvel' Gado (the Leopard)
->Voiced by (Japanese): [=RuthAnn=] Morizumi (2), Bianca Allen (3), Rumiko Varnes (EX), Creator/AtsukoTanaka (4)\
Voiced by (English): [=RuthAnn=] Morizumi (2), Lenne Hardt (3), Creator/VanessaMarshall (EX), Karen Lee (4), Creator/MorganBerry (2 Re-Dub)
[[quoteright:285:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/marvelicon_1319.jpg]]

She was orphaned during the war and found by Gado, where she was adopted as his own and named "Shina". Influenced by Gado's role as a powerful mercenary, she had demonstrated her incredible capabilities in battle by single-handedly taking out an entire platoon's worth when she was 13, earning her the nickname from fellow mercenaries as "Fighting Marvel". Gado had not wanted her to follow in his footsteps and tried to distance himself from her when called for duty to give her a chance at a normal life, but she grew up to become a mercenary instead to fight alongside him. She fights against the ZLF, a group who lives and breathes of vicious terroism, but when her own group had sent her out to find the Tabula with less than honorable intents on how to use the power it held, she disobeyed orders and went AWOL. She temporarily lived a quiet life in an isolated house lined with old land mines, but was reinstated in the military again by 4. She is a tomboy and can be very aggressive and stubborn in her actions, especially in regards to leaping into the front lines while ignoring warnings of its dangers, although deep down (as rarely as she shows it), she can go soft and be gentle.
-----
* AmazonianBeauty: She has the second tallest, most athletic build of the female cast and [[EveryoneLooksSexierIfFrench she happens to be French.]]
* DistaffCounterpart: In terms of both personality and fighting style, she is this to her father Gado, sharing many of his most hard-hitting moves while adding a faster, more acrobatic twist. They also share many animations and both transform into large cats of the Panthera genus found commonly in Africa.
* GirlinessUpgrade: In her debut, she was a shining example of a {{tomboy}}. By Primal Fury, she's become much more feminine overall, down to painting her nails (but still tomboyish).
* HiredGuns: She's a mercenary, like her adopted father. Likewise, she's made quite a reputation for herself.
* JumpedAtTheCall: She could have had a more quiet, ordinary life like Gado wanted her to, but she chose to become a mercenary instead.
** Seemingly averted in ''Bloody Roar 4'', as she doesn't make an appearance and is implied to be hurt based on Gado's dialogue. However, she is unlockable in that game, though Gado's concerns are not unwarranted.
* TheLadette: Certainly, though she gains more feminine personality traits throughout the series while still being tomboyish.
* MusclesAreMeaningless: {{Averted}}. Shina has the most athletic build of the female cast and is the hardest hitting of the bunch.
* NotQuiteDead: Jane was said to have been killed along with Cronos's mother in his background. Not so.
* OneWomanArmy: According to her bio, she took down an entire platoon when she was 13, just because she was looking for Gado. The soldiers in her father's unit said she was [[RedBaron a Fighting Marvel.]]
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Depending on the region, she is either known by the name Gado gave her, Shina, or the nickname which her fellow mercenaries gave her, Marvel.
* PantheraAwesome: Her beast form is the leopard.
* RedBaron: As a child, Shina was known as "Fighting Marvel" due to single-handedly obliterating a platoon of soldiers. (In the Japanese releases, [[OnlyKnownByTheirNickname she's exclusively addressed as such.]])
* SamusIsAGirl: Before Primal Fury, had it not been for her (uncommonly mentioned) name as Jane/Jannu and her obvious breasts, Shina could easily passed for a guy.
* SchmuckBait: It's not a good idea to attack her when she initiates her Mad Trap beast drive.
* SecretCharacter: In ''4'', for some reason.
* {{Shorttank}}: Seen in most of her outfits, which are various types of military wear, or jeans and matching jackets.
* TheSquadette: Was the only female in her mercenary unit.
* SugarAndIcePersonality: Though she lightens up as the series progresses.
* TheComputerIsACheatingBastard: Did you know she has a third [[LimitBreak beast drive?]] The game's manual and the Official Guide don't tell you about it, but you'll be aware of it ''after'' the AI's used it on you a half dozen times, or so.
* TomboyishName: Shina.

!!Jenny Burtory (the Bat)
->Voiced by (Japanese): Michelle Gazepis (2), Kimberly Forsythe (3), Creator/DonnaBurke (EX), Ayaka Kodama (4)\
Voiced by (English): Michelle Gazepis (2), Samantha Vega (3), Tasia Valenza (EX), Alison Noonan (4), Creator/LisaOrtiz (2 Re-Dub)
[[quoteright:285:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jenny_bloody_roar_5683.jpg]]

A top model of Europe by day and an international spy with many ties by night, Jenny's life is a complete mystery. Be it because the rumors that she's a vampire from Hungary are true or that she was a test subject of an experiment, she has stopped aging and is capable of accelerated healing. She is an expert in her line of work and thus is sought out by many clients. She is close friends of both Gado and Stun, and so she helped Gado gather information on the ZLF while dropping hints for Stun toward how he could perhaps regain his humanity. She is very confident in herself and carries a great air of sophistication in her, but is hard to discuss with, as she'll make sure to see things her way and not through anyone else's. Although snobbish and strict in fulfilling her orders and contracts, deep down she has no hesitation to fabricate things here and there to do the right thing rather than the directed thing.
-----
* ArtEvolution: In ''Bloody Roar 2'', her bat form has wing-arms that possess distinct hands on the end of her arms, looking more like a fusion of bat-wing and human arm. From ''Bloody Roar 3'' onwards, her bat form's arms are redesigned to resemble a real-world bat's wings, with the fingers of her hands elongated to form the flexible struts that support her flying membranes.
* AssKicksYou: Jenny has a move that begins with her grinding her heel on a crouching foe, and ends with her knocking her foe away with her rear.
* BatPeople: She's a Bat zoan, resulting in her zoan form having bat-like ears, grasping claws, and bat's wings that allow her to fly.
* CombatSadomasochist: She displays shades of this.
--> ''"You're sexy when you're in pain..."''
* CombatStilettos: High heeled thigh highs, to compliment [[{{Stripperiffic}} her look.]] In her beast form, she has claws that function as high heels.
* FemmeFatale: Beautiful, alluring, operates behind-the-scenes, and has a [[MysteriousPast shady background.]] Jenny ticks all the boxes.
* FullFrontalAssault: In ''Bloody Roar 2'' and ''3'', Jenny's bat form is actually stark naked, save for just enough fur to form the semblance of thigh-boots and a leotard to preserve her modesty. In ''Bloody Roar: Primal Fury/Extreme'', she switches into a leather corset and panties instead, which are implied to be her human form's underwear if you look at the respective models. Her state of undress doesn't impede her willingness to fight in the slightest.
* HalfHumanHybrid: She's one of the few zoans who sit on the "more human" section of the SlidingScaleOfAnthropomorphism when they transform; instead of having a fully fur-covered body, bestial legs and a beast's head, Jenny's bat form looks like her human form, but with bat's wings for arms, bat ears atop her head, and paw-like feet, with bone spikes jutting from her heels that are reminiscent of both a bat's prehensile feet and a set of high heels.
* KickChick: Nearly her entire moveset revolves around kicking, which make sense given her bat form turns her arms into wings that would impede her punches.
* LadyInRed: Ok, so it's more like hot pink, but close enough. Although her alternative costume is red.
* MeaningfulName: At least, if the rumors of her being a vampire are to be believed: when read in Japanese, her surname, Burtory, reads the same as [[UsefulNotes/ElizabethBathory Báthory]]. Incidentally, there is a French singer named [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jenifer_Bartoli Jenifer Bartoli]], though she is probably too young for the character to be based on her.
* MovesetClone: Of Fox.[[note]]Amusingly, her voice actress in ''3'' is the same person who voiced Fox.[[/note]] Of course, her more bat-like moves (such as her diving swoop) are original, but her forward Beast Drive combos are exactly the same as Fox's.
* MsFanservice: In addition to suggestive dialog and win-quotes, her beast form is semi-nude, she gainaxes quite a bit.
* PetTheDog: She provided very helpful information to numerous character in ''Bloody Roar 2'' just because she can. Especially Yuriko, who needed a martial artist who could train her.
** In ''4'', despite being part of her job to inform her superiors over anything that happens, she respects Mana's wishes and made up her report to avoid having attention drawn to them.
* StatuesqueStunner: She's 5 feet 7 inches in height, which is tall for a female, and she has been the tallest female character in every game she's playable in. It also helps that she's a model in addition to being a spy and that her kicks have the most range out of anyone in the game.
* {{Stripperific}}: Her costumes in ''Bloody Roar 2'' and ''Primal Fury/Extreme'' consist of a pink jacket (which looks different between the games), thigh-high boots, and no visible pants, which gives her a classic "street walker" look. In ''Bloody Roar 3'', she swaps them for a slinky backless dress and high heels, which still gives her a sexy but slutty look. And that's still a step-up from her bat form, which is [[FullFrontalAssault naked save for a few conveniently placed fur patches]] in ''2 & 3'' and stripped down to her underwear (a leather corset and panties) in ''Primal Fury/Extreme''.
* SeriesMascot: Although Yugo is actually the mascot series-wise, Jenny recently became a mascot as far as being featured in the front cover for ''Bloody Roar 3 & Primal Fury/Extreme'' until 4 (which focused on Nagi and had the other new characters). Averted in Japanese releases, where Yugo retains prominence on the front covers, until 4.
* OurVampiresAreDifferent: A British spy/model and the resident FemmeFatale whose beast form is a FanService [[BatPeople humanoid bat]].
* WildCard: If she has a goal, it's not always made apparent.
** Straight up example in ''4'' where she investigates rumors of an Azure Dragon and a Water God for kicks.
* WillTheyOrWontThey: As noted in Gado's section, the series subtly implies she and Gado may have more than a working class relationship.

!!Hajime Busuzima (the Chameleon)
->Voiced by (Japanese): Kazumi Tanaka (2, 3, EX), Shoto Kashii (4)\
Voiced by (English): Brian Vouglas (2), Paul Lucas (3), Creator/DeeBradleyBaker (EX), Michael Rhys (4), River Vitae (2 Re-Dub)
[[quoteright:285:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/busuzimaicon_8756.jpg]]

Busuzima was a curious boy who had a morbid fascination with dissecting insects he caught to see their inner workings, growing frustrated whenever they stopped moving. He was raised by his grandmother, who pointed out that the insects stopped moving because they were dead, then later "stopped moving" herself. Afterwards, he grew up lonely and obsessed with the thought of immortality, and so joined Tylon as among their top researchers where he met and befriended Goldberg. While employed by Tylon, he conducted unorthodox experiments on himself to transform into a zoanthope, and also gleefully performed inhumane experiments on other subjects when ordered to. This rubbed Goldberg the wrong way when he realized the true nature of these experiments; Busuzima, enraged by Goldberg's attempted interference, experimented on him as well, causing Goldberg's transformation into Stun. He was also the one responsible for the creation of Shenlong, as well as the one who brainwashed Kenji to make him resume his former life as Bakuryu. He is also the founder of the ZLF, with the intent of making Shenlong his front man, until the group was torn apart and Shenlong disobeyed him in favor of having his own life. He's eccentric, to say the least, and he's also incredibly self-obsessed and devious. Although a genius and a dangerous scientist in his own right, he's also crude and alienates everyone around him.
-----
* TheBadGuysWin: Averted. In all the endings you can unlock with him, he will always lose.
* ButtMonkey: Seen in the opening cinematic of ''Primal Fury'' when Yugo zips past him on the highway, causing him to lose control of his motorscooter and crash. Then he gets dinged on the nose by his own license plate.
** Also seen in his ending, where after seemingly defeating Stun [[EvilGloating and gloating]], the latter stands up and knocks the wind out of him, with a punch to the gut. Ouch.
* ChameleonCamouflage: Considering his beast form is a chameleon, [[InvisibleMonsters it's a given.]]
* FanDisservice: Some of his moves, both idle and attacking. Such as pelvic thrusting, or sitting on his opponent's face and [[{{Fartillery}} cutting a fart]].
** In beast form, his Super Tongue Lash lets him lick his opponent [[GroinAttack in the crotch area]]. [[ShareTheMalePain You may cry now]].
* {{Gonk}}: Even as a human, the man resembles his beast form, which is to say he definitely isn't a looker, with an overly-wide mouth and eyes that are seem to bulge out of his skull despite also being stuck in a permanent squint.
* HumiliationConga: His ending in ''Bloody Roar 2'' had him reign supreme, only for most of the cast to return to beat him up, reducing him into a mess of bruises and bumps.
** ''Bloody Roar 3'' had him receive a probing.
** ''Bloody Roar 4'' had him depressed due to not having any zoanthropes to experiment on, until he comes across a nine tailed fox (Mana) and decides he wants to experiment on her, only to run into Ryoho and decided to experiment on him, only to defeat him and find out that his dragon form is gone, so he turns his attention back to Mana, who proceeds to bite him on the ass for his trouble.
* LastNameBasis: To the point where his first name has never been stated.
* MadScientist: Everything he does is ForScience That, and getting the rest of the cast to recognize his genius and take him seriously for once.
* OverlyLongTongue: Oddly enough, keeps it in human form.
* ReptilesAreAbhorrent: Can transform into a chameleon, and has antagonized pretty much the entire cast of the series.
* [[SayMyName Say My Own Name]]: Several of his specials are named after himself and he'll [[PunctuatedPounding beat. Them. In. To. You!]]
* TeleportSpam: Done during his "Busuzima Manadala" beast drive, wherein he repeatedly teleports and staggers his opponent by attacking front and back in succession.
* TheComputerIsACheatingBastard: He has a third beast drive, but good luck seeing anyone other than the AI pull it off since neither the manual or the official guide tells you how to do it.
* VillainDecay: He was a major threat in ''Bloody Roar 2''. By the third game onward, he becomes more of a LethalJokeCharacter at best.

A clone of Long made by Busuzima, he was made to become the leader of the ZLF, striking fear into the hearts of anyone who opposed him. He ruled with an iron fist and was considered the most dangerous and deadliest of all zoanthropes. However, when he looked back at his non-existant past, he questioned his identity as his own self and eventually dropped out of the group and from Busuzima's control in favor of finding his own life. To make himself his own person, he changed his appearance drastically from Long's and lived a more darker, urban life as a bouncer and a familiar face around bars. Due to having no past, he cares little for it or his ultimate fate, living a life where he kills people he hates, drinks with people he likes, and believes others to be fools for believing that there's a tomorrow waiting for them in the morning. Although cold, merciless, and bitter, he eventually adopts a much milder side, particularly showing faint hints of care for others and passion with the ones he drinks with.
-----
* AmazingTechnicolorWildlife: His beast form is a purple tiger.
* ArrogantKungfuGuy: A stark contrast to [[MartialPacifist Long.]]
* CloneAngst: When he faces Long, during their duel at the end of [=BR2=], he has something akin to an emotional breakdown; having been jarred by [[TomatoInTheMirror the realization that he was his clone.]] By the next game, he was over it.
* CombatPragmatist: It's hard to catch, due to his attack speed, but Shenlong repeatedly stuns his opponent by stomping their foot during his combo ring. One of his finishers even has him stomp their foot twice before headbutting them.
* DrivenToSuicide: In his story mode ending of ''Bloody Roar 2'', it's implied that he killed himself after having an emotional breakdown, his shadows insinuating that he disemboweled himself. Obviously, [[RetCon this isn't canon.]]
* EvilTwin: To Long, though there isn't much of a resemblance after the second game.
* GlassCannon: Shenlong's speed and attack power are impressive, but he has poor stamina; which spells disaster if he starts eating counter damage.
* IllKillYou: His introduction in 3 and 4.
* INeedAFreakingDrink: After ''2'', he frequents around bars. He does out-right state that he needs a drink in ''4''.
* MrFanservice: In part 3, where his default look has him wear an [[BadassLongcoat open jacket.]]
* KiManipulation: Same as Long's.
* PantheraAwesome: He can transform into a tiger, like Long, though with differently-colored fur (white in ''2'', [[AmazingTechnicolorWildlife purple]] in ''3'' onwards).
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Especially in his debut, where they glow in cutscene images; later games tone this down.
* SkillGateCharacters: Of the three "combo ring" characters, Shenlong is the easiest to pick up and play as since he only has a single combo ring to learn ("Snake"), whereas Long and Uriko each have two. Plus, his play style isn't as dependent on it as theirs are. The downside is, his combos leave huge openings, making them fairly easy to interrupt/punish, so long as you've mastered the game's evade mechanic.
* SharpDressedMan: As of ''Primal Fury'', where he's sometimes mistaken for [[VideoGame/ArtOfFighting Robert Garcia]], by his fans.
* {{Superboss}}: For the second game only. From [=BR3=] onward, he's a regular member of the cast.
%%* TomatoInTheMirror: From the next game onward, though..? Not a problem.
* UnwittingPawn: Posed as a leader for the ZLF in ''Bloody Roar 2'' by Busuzima.
** Also used by Mana in ''4'', but for more noble intentions, being to calm down the rampaging zoanthropes, and to help her reseal the dragon. Upon revelation, he takes this pretty well.

When the original Bakuryu died, the remains of his liquified tissue were preserved by Tylon, even long after the company disbanded. YUN CHI Manufacturing Inc., a former department of Tylon, still remained active, and used the sample toward Project Iron Mole to create Kohryu, one of their trial robots. The trial went terribly, as while they programmed it with Bakuryu's battle data and infused the tissue to match his strength, Kohryu simply went out of their control and lashed out at everything it saw. It has no personality other than a cold, relentless pursuit against any zoanthrope it detects.
-----
* EvilTwin: To the original Bakuryu, rather than Kenji.
* FlashStep: Invoked during his Black Magic beast drive, where he moves side to side so quickly it creates the illusion of attacking from both sides at once!
* KillerRobot: Kohryu's a robotic clone of the original Bakuryu, and is the rival/enemy of his successor. As such, he comes with some of the standard bells and whistles.
* MacrossMissileMassacre: Reversal Flowing Arrow has him burrow underground, then resurface directly beneath his opponent and launch a rapid fire missile barrage. If done while the beast gauge is full, it's one of the strongest beast drives in the game.
* {{Ninja}}: Same as Kenji, though he lacks any ElementalPowers, or the ability to WallRun.
* NinjaLog: Done using a steel construction girder instead.
* NinjaRun: Exactly the same as Kenji's.
* NoEnding: Thus far, he's never had an ending in any of his appearances.
* RocketPunch: Kohryu can fire his gauntlet, making him the only other character besides Uranus to have projectile attacks.
* RyuAndKen: Of the non-{{Shotoclone}} variety. Kohryu shares nearly the exact same moveset as Kenji, though the latter has additional moves such as elemental powers, the ability to WallRun, and [[SchmuckBait create a body double]]. None of which Kohryu has. Plus, their beast drives are distinct from one another.
* {{Superboss}}: From his debut onwards.
* TeleportSpam: Like Kenji, he's able to freely teleport around the ring.

A mysterious man, he was granted the power to be the sole user of the Tabula of a Thousand Beasts, a powerful relic sealed to prevent calamity from breaking free and gathering into one sole person. To fully harness its power, he had to defeat all of the zoanthropes marked with the XGC sign until he was the last left standing, and attempted to use this power to free the unborns from a distant dimension to be released into the world. This plan failed, and when he recovered, he realised he had been consumed and controlled by a dark presence and sought out a way to redeem himself. However, when the unborn returned and he recalled a night he had attacked Nagi under the unborn's influence for getting in his way, he was possessed again by the unborn to seek out and kill Gaia's dragon, Ryoho. When under the unborn's influence, he is cold, vicious, and will kill with little to no provocation whatever gets in his way. Outside of this, however, he is a much more quiet, confused man who broods.
-----
* BadassLongcoat: His default costume has this with a large red jacket (and no, the [[VideoGame/DevilMayCry similarity]] is totally coincidental).
* TheBadGuysWin: ''Bloody Roar 4'' ends with a subversion. [[spoiler: He murders Ryoho while under the Unborn's influence, before Nagi comes along, Mana removes the Unborn from their subconsciousness, allowing the two of them to kill it, before passing out.]]
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: While possessed by [[SealedEvilInACan the Tabula Soul]], in [=BR3=]. Yugo beat it out of him.
* {{Expy}}:
** Of [[Anime/YugiOh Maximillion Pegasus.]] Xion is near identical in appearance, right down to his attire.
** Inverted with Dante from ''VideoGame/DevilMayCry''. Despite the heavy similarities in appearance, Xion came first.
* GodhoodSeeker: In his introductory arc, he fused with [[SealedEvilInACan the Tabula Soul]] in an attempt to harness its power in hopes of becoming the most powerful zoanthrope of all. [[spoiler: In the end, he learned the Tabula was merely using him to get to Uriko.]] Xion was defeated by Yugo, but still hasn't given up and continues to research various texts (seen in''Primal Fury's'' opening cutscene) to find ways to elevate his beast power.
* KilledOffForReal: In Nagi's playthrough, [[spoiler: she murders Xion, whose Unborn possession passes onto her.]]
* SuperpoweredEvilSide: His unborn side is sometimes seen in this light, being homicidal and ruthless, whereas Xion himself is calm and neutral.
* UnwittingPawn: Xion fused with the Tabula Soul, hoping its power would make him the strongest zoanthrope of all, but it was only using him to lure out its intended host: Uriko. See TheDreaded entry in her section.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: From the dialog he has with Long, at the end of ''Primal Fury'', Long seems to view Xion in this light. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pW_IEoOcfNM Xion's response implies Long may be right.]]
* WildCard: It's unknown whether he's an AntiHero, or an AntiVillain, or even what his reasons are for wanting to heighten his beast power. Though, his ending in ''Primal Fury'' strongly implies that Long may be the only one who does.

The result of an experiment Tylon created called Project Chimera. Designed to be the most powerful Zoanthrope in the world, she was created during their experimentation with Uriko. While Uriko eventually lost her ability to shift to her prototype form at will, Uranus retained the form indefinitely, in addition to being able to transform into a true chimera or powering up her human form further. She is an agressive sadist who takes pleasure in fighting and overall destruction, although it may be her way of coping with all she's been through.
-----
* BishounenLine: Her hyper beast form causes her to become human again and amps her speed and attack power to the utmost limit, [[GlassCannon at the expense of her stamina]]. [[TheComputerIsACheatingBastard Good luck trying to take advantage of it though.]] Doubly so, if you're playing against someone who's actually taken the time to master her.
* ChainedByFashion: Uranus wears a pair of broken manacles around her wrists, and one on the back of her hair. Which fans have used to support the theory that she's an escaped clone of Uriko.
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: Her 141 has her straddle crouching opponents as she pins them on the ground, then she makes a pelvic thrust while [[DoubleEntendre "pumping" lightning]] into their bodies.
** [=BR4=] gave her an HDM version of it as her hidden beast drive, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y64qpQWCZzI where it goes WAY past "suggestive".]] Just look at the comments in the link.
* EvilTwin: Believed to be this to Uriko.
* IShallTauntYou: [[SarcasmMode "You call that your best shot?"]]
* LightningBruiser: A literal example, given the speed and power of her chimera form; not to mention all the [[ShockAndAwe lightning spam.]]
* NoEnding: Since her debut onwards, she has yet to have an ending of her own.
* OneWingedAngel: As if her human form weren't already enough, her Chimera form is an absolute beast. [[LightningBruiser She gains huge increases in reach, attack power, and stamina, while retaining all of her speed.]] All of her lightning and TK abilities gain massive [=AoE=] and she borrows several moves from some of the other characters.
* PowerFloats: Clearly, she's above gravity.
* ShockAndAwe: Prepare to shit sparks, 'cuz the majority of her attacks use lightning in some form; some which have [=AoE=]. In addition, the range and intensity of these attacks increase dramatically while she's in Chimera form.
* SNKBoss: As the series' bonus boss character, she outclasses the majority of the cast in her human form alone, due to blinding speed, near instantaneous attack speed/recovery time, unfair priority, and equal parts teleport/lightning spam. [[FromBadToWorse It's even worse]] in [[OneWingedAngel Chimera form]], where she becomes overpowered, and can raise her abilities beyond even this by going [[BishounenLine hyper beast]]. Is it any wonder she gets banned?
* {{Superboss}}: From her debut onwards.
* {{Telekinesis}}: Her TK allows her to levitate, and can do the same to her opponent by seizing them, or merely pointing at them ('092'). It also allows her to teleport freely around the ring, and [=1A0=] "Ascension" projects a wave of psychic energy that has [=AoE=], covering her on all sides.
* TeleportSpam: Moreso than Kenji and Kohryu. Not only can she teleport to various parts of the ring, she can 'fake it', or attack while teleporting, and even do it in mid-combo.
** The ultimate display of her ability is her "[=1B5=] Baptism" beast drive, wherein she levitates herself and her opponent high into the air, envelopes them in a sphere of psychic energy, then teleports so quickly she appears to be in two places at once! By the time the victim hits the ground, she's already there; making it seem as if she never moved!
* TheDreaded: Both an InUniverse and meta-example. According to her character bio, she's [[UltimateLifeform the most powerful being on the face of the planet.]] While, in terms of gameplay, Uranus is so broken that she was one of the first characters to ever be officially banned from competitive and [[TournamentPlay tournament level play.]]
* ThemeNaming: All of her attacks are numeric, occasionally followed by names.

A trusted bodyguard to the zoanthrope kingdom, he is tasked as Cronos's right-hand man and thus shows a great deal of care for the prince. However, his opinions of the prince are conflicted with his opinions of his phoenix form, as he bore witness to Cronos's attack against his home village while in phoenix form, setting up his decision to defeat Cronos in the tournament to find a way to destroy the phoenix. Due to his role as Cronos's personal bodyguard, and his own prejudice of lesser folk and humans, he can come off as snotty and pompous to everyone, and only seems friendly to Cronos.
-----
* FightingYourFriend: This is what his battle with Cronos amounts to, in order to free him from his Phoenix form. [[spoiler: It doesn't work.]]
* IDidWhatIHadToDo: Used toward Cronos, during his character ending. [[spoiler: Then Cronos enters his Phoenix form and seemingly returns the favor....]]
* [[InformedAttribute Informed Bigotry]]: Supposedly, he couldn't care less about humans, but he doesn't come across that way in-game; likely since he's only shown interacting with other zoanthropes.
* ImplacableMan: Ganesha's hyper beast form grants him 'Super Armor', a passive support skill which grants immunity to stuns, staggering, and knockdowns. Nor can he be thrown, except with command throws or attack throws. In short, it makes him virtually unstoppable, which is why the AI will spam it as often as the beast meter will allow for it.
* KickTheDog: In the ''Bloody Roar Extreme V-Jump Book'', he fights off Yugo, and then slams his trunk at Fang who wasn't even trying to provoke him. This is more like Trunk-slamming the Dog (or Wolf or Canine if you prefer). [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown This turned out to be unwise.]]
* MightyGlacier: He's the slowest character in the game, but once he's in close quarters and starts landing throws and chain grapples... '''YIKES.'''
* SpinningPiledriver: Ganesh has one of the most complex versions of these ("Pashu Si Maasu"), since it can only be done at the end of an equally complex chain grapple sequence. And with his Amitorachakura beast drive, he vaults high into the air and drives his opponent into the ground with so much force it actually craters the ring!
* StoutStrength: He may look fat, but it's all muscle.
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: Ganesha's style is heavily dependent on grappling and his chain throw combinations, which are fairly complex due to their command inputs and because each requires precise timing. When exceuted properly, they're extremely punishing. Moreso than Stun's.

!!Cronos Orma (the Penguin/Phoenix)
->Voiced by (Japanese): Tomohiro Tsuboi\
Voiced by (English): Creator/CamClarke

Prince of the kingdom of zoanthropes, Cronos dislikes the constant feuds that occur between the humans and zoanthropes and sought out a way to unite the two races. He grew suspicious toward his father Orion's experiments, and equally so to the fact that nobody would tell him the truth regarding the deaths of his mother and his best friend Jane. His phoenix form and his rare ability to have two beast forms were of particularly high interest in this research, and so he himself also became an experiment, including wearing clothes equipped with sensors. Although he is kind, polite, and dedicated to protecting his people, he is also naive and chokeheld to following Orion despite knowing full well that it is a bad idea.
-----
* AnIcePerson: His penguin form utilizes ice-type moves.
* DanceBattler: Not only can Cronos kick your ass with no effort, but he does it while doing the tango!
* DrivenToSuicide: In his ending, when he confronts his father on the truth of the experiments, he had no hesitation to kill himself to avoid continuing the projects, but Orion stopped him.
* EnemyWithin: Somewhat implied between him and his phoenix form.
* PlayingWithFire: His phoenix form.
* PrettyBoy: His appearance in the ''Bloody Roar Extreme V-Jump Book'' has him appear as such. Mashiro (the character from the manga) is instantly charmed by him, much to Fang's annoyance.
* SelfMadeOrphan: It's implied that he wiped out his entire home village and killed his mother, among others, while in his phoenix form (as he was unable to control it). However, it's either played straight or subverted, depending on [[WildMassGuessing if Uranus and his mother are the same person]].
%%* SNKBoss
* SuperpoweredEvilSide: Cronos and his penguin form are rather passive, calm, and not entirely threatening. His phoenix form, however, is a pyromanic monster hell-bent on killing everything in a glorious blaze.

During the time Xion had been possessed by the unborn and trying to kill off other zoanthropes possessing the XGC mark, Nagi had passed by him, only to be mortally wounded trying to stop him. At this time, Gaia had copied the unborn and sealed the duplicate inside Nagi, allowing her to survive the attack. This power had otherwise remained dormant afterwards during the time Yugo and the others had disarmed Xion and freed him from the unborn's grasp. A year later, when Xion was possessed again and sought out Gaia's dragon, Ryoho, the spurious inside Nagi awakened again in response, prompting her to seek out Xion to find out why she had this power. Eventually, she herself was also possessed by the unborn, and depending on the ending, she either succeeded in the task Gaia intended for her (killing the unborn) or was used by the unborn to kill Gaia's dragon. She is playful, friendly, and good-hearted, but her spurious form is more vicious and lusts over blood.
-----
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: While under the unborn's control.
* CaptainErsatz: In human form, she looks a wee bit like [[VideoGame/DeadOrAlive Kasumi]].
* DarkActionGirl: Especially when a spurious and/or posessed by the unborn.
* HalfHumanHybrid: She's an incomplete version of an unborn. Incidentally, it's because of this fact that Uriko was renamed as a full-fledged "cat" to avoid confusion, despite the fact that Nagi was explicitly called a Spurious and not a Half-Beast.
* MeaningfulName: the term "Spurious" refers to something fake, or otherwise used to class something inherently different, but technically alike to something. Although referred to more as "incomplete" than outright "fake," the latter is poked at by Xion.
* MsFanservice: To the point where the back of the Japanese box art features her chest. In game, she has a good chunk of suggestive poses, and even more suggestive voice clips, and a blatant PantyShot due to how short her skirt is.
* PowerDyesYourHair: Her hair changes from brown to red in her spurious form.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: When controlled by the unborn.
* RememberTheNewGuy: Yugo and Nagi knew each other quite well, despite their relationship never being foreshadowed or mentioned until the fourth game.
* ShowSomeLeg: Skirt? What skirt? You call ''that'' a skirt?
* {{Stripperific}}: If you think her wardrobe isn't skimpy enough, wait until she rips parts of it as a spurious...
* SplitPersonality: While Nagi is mostly playful and similar to Uriko in personality, her spurious side is shown to laugh at dicing up her foes and is very sadistic.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: She is the new character introduced in ''Bloody Roar 4'', but unlike the previous instances of a new character being a door for a new story for the established cast (like Xion and Chronos), ''Nagi is the only character the story focuses'', with only Yugo and Xion having anything to do with her. Not only that, she is the character with most relevancy on the promotional material like the game cover, magazines and even soundtrack, completely ignoring the previous cast. Also for whatever reason, she doesn't actually transform into an animal, she just gains some scales and her arm turns into a blade. Due to this, among other reasons, led to ''Bloody Roar 4'' being the final game of the franchise.

Reiji, who was an heir to one of the four clan's leaders, had his seal broken prematurely during the XGC mark incident and with it, used his powers to tear up the clan out of his destructive nature and bitterness against them. He fled from the temple of his clans and sought out powerful zoanthropes to challenge and kill, all the while avoiding the remaining Yatagarasu members pursuing him. He's very cocky, cruel, brash, and dangerous, and looks down at everyone as being weaker than him.
-----
* TheBadGuysWin: His ending has him [[spoiler: murdering Ryoho]] and arrogantly taking on the Yatagarasu who are pursing him, ready to demonstrate his power.

->Voiced by (Japanese): Ema Kogure\
Voiced by (English): Helen Morrison

A young girl who was raised in a temple that believed in a religion that combined Buddhism and Shinto religions together. She was part of a group of ninetails zoanthropes who, alongside the Yatagarasu, had served as guardians and seal masters for Gaia's dragon. Her older sister had performed the last sealing of the dragon when it awoke after the Unborn attacked the temple, leading to her death. Mana then took over her sister's duties and joined Ryoho when he recovered (without any memory of the incident), ensuring that the dragon remains asleep and the seal intact while Ryoho, in turn, protects her from those who try to catch her for her powers as a Ninetails. When she felt the seal start to come loose, she tried to seek out other, more powerful zoanthropes who can challenge the dragon when she breaks the seal, and then weaken it enough for her to apply a new seal. Due to being young, her Ninetails form is an adolescent who resembles a normal fox with only one tail. She remains mature and true to her duties, but she's still a little girl at heart; she is naive, enjoys playing, and likes to eat cake.
-----
* AntiFrustrationFeature: Despite being able to act independently with Ryoho, she never sucker punches the opponent and stays in front with Ryoho. She even becomes vulnerable in her beast form, so the player can prevent her from doing a beast drive. Inversely, skilled players will recharge her beast form (since it doesn't drain Ryoho's health), just to spam her beast drives.
* TheHeavy: In most character playthroughs, she leads one of those characters to the temple where Ryoho is at, thus starting the path to the final boss.
* MsExposition: She exists to mainly explain Ryoho's place in the story, much to the confusion of fans.
* SupportPartyMember: She isn't playable, but rather teams up with Ryoho. When in her human form, she simply stands back. In her beast form, she fights independently, supporting Ryoho in his battle, and even has a beast drive, but can be knocked out of it.

Ryoho is the vessel of the dragon, and although he is aware of its presence, he rarely has memory of what happens whenever he takes on the dragon's form. During one incident that the dragon was released due to sensing the Unborn entering its temple, Ryoho had woken up to find a young girl named Mana from a clan of Ninetails. He grew close to the girl and protected her while she secretly did the same for him, and struggles whenever he senses the unborn or his seal coming loose. He's very serious and intimidating, but he is quite compassionate, gentle (particularly to Mana), and strong-willed in battle. He respects his opponents as well, challenging them as a human before unleashing the dragon on them.
-----
* AGodAmI: or at least TheDragon of one.
* AwesomeButImpractical: Dragon Ryoho, who has a beast drive that can drain (if not out right empty) his opponent's life gauge very quickly. The flip side is that it costs him huge chunks of his beast gauge, and it can be easy to dodge too once the opponent catches on. It is completely possible to ''die'' while doing this.
* BadassNormal: To a degree. He does have a beast form, but because it is sealed away, he can only fight other zoanthropes in his human form exclusively (Mana substitutes for his beast form, and even she is just a fox with magical properties).
%%* BareFistedMonk
* BlessedWithSuck: He can transform into a dragon as a FinalBoss, but said dragon happens to be powerful enough to decimate the world, hence Mana's need to keep it sealed until a capable warrior (or Ryoho himself, depending on who you play as) can stop it. In some playthroughs, Ryoho won't even ''know there is a dragon in him!''
* ClippedWingAngel: His dragon form acts as the final boss and is supposedly really powerful. However, he has only a sliver of health with a full beast gauge at the start. It is entirely possible to defeat him by simply dodging the whole fight until time expires.
** You would want to do this, otherwise, being defeated by him is an automatic game over.
* EnemyWithin: Himself versus the dragon.
* FakeDifficulty: His dragon form has a few beast drives that can instantly kill you if they hit, while everything else that doesn't can break through your guard like a knife through butter.
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler: Both Reiji and Xion's endings had the respective characters murder him after defeating the dragon. In Xion's case, however, it was Corrupted!Nagi who killed Ryoho]].
* LargeHam: Easily the hammiest of the bunch when the situation calls for it. Just listen to how he grunts!
* ParentalSubstitute: He is a father figure to Mana.
* PlayingWithFire: His dragon form can breathe fire in a beast drive and shoot fire balls as a special attack or an alternative beast drive.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: When he loses control of his dragon transformation.
* SealedBadassInACan: Ryoho's dragon form is so powerful, it has to be sealed away.

[[folder:Debuting in ''Bloody Roar: The Fang'']]
!!Fang (the Wolf), aka Yuga Tsukigami

The main protagonist of the manga, Fang detects the presence of other zoanthropes as well as a dark being who would be resurrected when four talismans would come together. He seeks out to prevent this union and befriends a zoanthrope girl he met named Machiro. He has the ability to deliver punches capable of breaking a zoanthrope's transformation and reverting them to human form. He shows traits more common in traditional lycanthropy in that he can sometimes expose fangs and claws. He, like Yugo, is also brave and daring, but a bit slow at times while showing a great deal of care for Machiro.
-----
* ChickMagnet: Fang has caught the interest of no less than ''four'' female characters.
* EleventhHourSuperPower: Fang later learns how to initiate a beast drive before [[spoiler: fighting Oagito. He then utilizes it after realizing the trouble Oagito has put Mashiro and Akino in. Unfortunately, even that's not enough.]]
* {{Expy}}: An intended case between him and Yugo. Even his name sounds similar.
* GuestFighter: He was originally from the Japan-only manga and in ''Bloody Roar Extreme'', both the Japanese version on Gamecube, and the Western releases on X-Box.
* NobleWolf: Not just noble but heroic!
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Fang rarely mentions his real name.
* SwordOfPlotAdvancement: Fang later obtains the Wolf Gang gloves that can take anyone out of their beast forms with a punch.

!!Mashiro the Rabbit

A young school girl who hides her abilities as a zoanthrope. When she meets Fang, she helps him in the fight against other vagrant zoanthropes who were causing trouble in the area. She has a gentle personality and worries a lot for Fang's sake.
-----
* ActionGirl: Played with at first. She's not a particularly effective fighter on her own, but she eventually shows that she is capable of throwing down with Fang.
* ClingyJealousGirl: She warms up to Fang in later chapters to the point of being protective and having feelings for him. It becomes much more obvious in the chapter: The Dragon Tears - Romance with Yato of Seiryu. [[spoiler: This trope ended up unintentionally costing her friendship with Akino.]]
** Funny enough, she ends up falling for Cronos the moment she lays her eyes on him.
* {{Expy}}: Of Alice. They even gave her a nurse outfit in the bonus pages of chapter 2. She even shares a similar back story, in which she becomes an experiment right before a Tylon scientist even had the chance to brainwash her.
* SlapSlapKiss: Beating up Fang just so he realizes that he shouldn't go into battle alone, and hugs him for the trouble.

!!Akino the Feline

A friend of Mashiro's and a fellow classmate who became the subject of experimentation in the hands of Hashiba.
-----
* ActionGirl: Played with. While she is capable of fighting, she's no where on Fang's level, or even Mashiro's.
* {{Expy}}: Of Uriko. She does assume a half-beast form just like Uriko.
* FaceHeelTurn: [[spoiler:She turns on Mashiro thinking she abandoned her for Fang.]]
* FantasticDrug: Akino starts taking pills provided by Hashiba to transform into her beast form. Although, it only allows her to transform half-way.
* HalfHumanHybrid: Having to rely on a drug to transform results in her only being a half-beast, similar to Uriko.
* JerkAss: [[spoiler: Instead of simply leaving Mashiro alone after their falling out, she joins Hashiba, apparently supporting the idea of raising '''the God of Destruction''', and she goes out of her way to indirectly antagonize her and Fang by convincing Shirakumo to join Hashiba's side and having him steal the relics they collected.]]
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: [[spoiler: After receiving TheReasonYouSuck speech from Lion-Head, and seeing Mashiro protecting her from Oagito's attack, she breaks into tears, realizing how much of a jerk she's been to her.]]
* NotQuiteTheRightThing: Akino starts to express regret over [[spoiler: her treatment on Mashiro and going through with the plan of resurrecting Oagito.]]
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: [[spoiler: She runs after Shirakumo gets mauled by Oagito.]]

!!Hashiba

A professor who teaches Mashiro's class. At first, he appears as calm, kind, and collective towards Mashiro. However, he soon reveals his true intentions to her before injecting her with a chemical to make her into a full zoanthrope for his to control. Weren't it for Fang, he would have succeeded too.
-----
* BigBad: The central villain of the manga.
* DisneyDeath: Played with. He gets decked in the face and falls out of the top floor of a school building. His body is clearly shown with his blood splattered on the ground and on his body. However, his body disappeared sometime after. Unsurprisingly, he is revealed in chapter 5 to have survived.
* IAmAMonster: [[spoiler: Hashiba later reveals that he has experimented on himself and became a fox Zoanthrope, happily embracing his power. He even used Oagito's DNA for good measure.]]
* KickTheDog: With his minions incapitated, he shoots Akino and Mashiro. Thankfully, only Akino's leg is affected, and Fang stopped the bullet meant for Mashiro with his arm.
* PhysicalGod: Pretty much becomes one. [[spoiler: See Oagito No Magami below.]]

!!Lion-Head

The Zoanthrope that is always in his beast form. He shows up to support Fang and Michiro every now and then to provide exposition or assist in combat.
-----
* TheAtoner: Lion-Head worked for Tylon previously. He helps out Fang and Mashiro on occasion to make up for it. Sometimes assisting in combat, and sometimes passing on information.
* BadassInANiceSuit: He wears a suit at all times.
* {{Expy}}: Primarily of Gado, with his beast form and his status as a sort of mentor to the protagonists, and arguably one of Stun as well, in that he's ''always'' in beast form.
* TheHeavy: He helps drive the plot of the last six chapters by providing Fang and Mashiro the back story, charging them with the quest to obtain the pieces of the Oagito, and even gave them two of the pieces to start with. He even rescued Mananiki and Momo to provide the duo some allies.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: He delivers one to [[spoiler: Akino, finding her reasons to betray Mashiro quite petty, and telling her to give up on the pills.]]

!!Aoi [[spoiler: the Mermaid]]

A woman who was attacked by a pair of thugs in Chapter 4, who then got rescued by Fang and quickly became friends.
-----
* {{Foreshadowing}}: She likes to look at fish in their fish tanks.
* HumanSacrifice: She is to be sacrificed to the fish God at her village.
* OurMermaidsAreDifferent: A [[spoiler: Zoanthrope Mermaid]] no less.
* RescueRomance: Its implied that she's fallen for Fang after being rescued. [[spoiler: Subverted, as she decides to sacrifice herself to the fish god after admiring how important Mashiro is to Fang, and even passes down her hair-pin to Mashiro.]]
* TheReveal: [[spoiler: She reveals herself as a mermaid in the end of chapter 4.]]

!!Shuou of Suzaku

An old man who is the keeper of the claws of Oagito. Initially, he is suspicious of Fang and Mashiro upon meeting with them, but later decides to help them obtain the claws.
-----
* CoolOldGuy: He is always ready to draw his sword the moment he detects trouble. He is quick and skilled with the sword.
* HeroicSacrifice: He dispatches [[spoiler: Kou Kou]], and then sends himself, along with [[spoiler: him]] into the lava near by. As ''WebVideo/{{SCXCR}}'' argued, [[SenselessSacrifice "it looked like he didn't have to do that..."]]
* PassingTheTorch: Before sacrificing himself, he declares Fang the new protector of the claws.
* SpoilerTitle: The title of his debut chapter is called ''The Last Flight''. Three guesses as to how it ends.

!!Kou Kou the Bird

A bird Zoanthrope who attempts to kill Fang and Mashiro for trying to claim the claws of Oagito.
-----
* BloodKnight: He is all too willing to kill anyone who wants to claim the claws, even if they have good intentions.

!!Yato of Seiryu

A young woman who is the keeper of the tail of the Oagito who was antagonistic at Fang at first, but quickly welcomes him in her company. [[spoiler: She's also a '''DRAGON ZOANTHROPE''']]
-----
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Yato is not very effective in combat. [[spoiler: Unless she becomes a dragon that is.]]
* FauxActionGirl: She defends herself with a sword, but gets knocked out rather quickly by Fang. [[spoiler: Then her Dragon form comes out...]]
* FanDisservice: Depending on how you feel about it, her beast form has clearly visible (albeit censored) breasts. [[spoiler: Did we mention she is a dragon with boobs?]]
* LoveAtFirstPunch: Played with: she gets defeated rather easily by Fang, and she ends up falling for him.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: [[spoiler: Instead of fire, she shoots ''lasers!'']]
* PassingTheTorch: She was made protector of the tail at a young age [[spoiler: conveniently before she unwittingly killed her parents.]] She does pass on the tail to Fang in the end.
* PowerIncontinence: She isn't able to keep her beast mode in control.
* SelfMadeOrphan: Completely unintentional.

!!Shirakumo the Tiger

A kind martial artists who runs a nursery school, which he had built after his father passed away. He is the keeper of the fangs of Oagito.
-----
* AffablyEvil: He runs a nursery, is kind to all children, always has a calm and positive demeanor, and turns out to be working for Hashiba.
* {{Expy}}: Of Long, mostly in appearance, though they do share a similar back story as well.
* FriendToAllChildren: Shirakumo opened a nursery school just because he enjoys having children around.
* HazyFeelTurn: It's hard to tell if he truly is malevolent, or if he just thought serving Hashiba was a great idea at the time. [[spoiler: He does find out of his malevolent intentions and stands up to him after he fused with Oagito, but ends up getting eaten for his trouble.]]
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler: After being eaten by Oagito, he comes back to life to crawl through Oagito's chest, and offers himself as his weak point, offering Fang to kill it by punching him really hard.]]
* MeaningfulName: More like meaningful title of his debut chapter. It's not made clear if he truly is a villain or is simply doing what he thinks is right. [[spoiler: Akino did not help matters either.]]
* PassingTheTorch: Unlike previous examples, Shirakumo never got along with his father, but he does wear the claws as a necklace.
* PunchClockVillain: He isn't exactly evil, but he was convinced by Akino to join Hashiba's side.
* SecretTestOfCharacter: He puts Fang and Mashiro through one by having them help at the nursery to see if they do have the right intentions.

!!Namaniki and Momo the Monkeys

Twins who were former test subjects of Tylon who were rescued by Lion-Head. They were tasked with finding the pieces of the Oagito.
-----
* ArmorPiercingQuestion: Namaniki insults Fang by questioning his combat abilities after his failed fight against Shirakumo, causing him to leave the room.
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: Namaniki is not receptive towards needing help at first and even mocks Fang. Mashiro slaps him silly for the insult.
* ForeShadowing: Momo is wearing a t-shirt that reads "monkey magic." Guess what their beast forms are.
* HalfIdenticalTwins: Aside from their clothes and mannerisms, they look almost exactly the same.
* JerkassWithAHeartOfGold: Namaniki can be cold to Fang, but he does leap to his aid the moment he runs into trouble.

!!Oagito No Magami

The God of Destruction who used to be a man who was too proud of his beast form to keep himself concealed. He eventually grew too powerful and had to be sealed away, and then split into five parts of his body. Those parts, when put together, resurrects him.
-----
* AttackItsWeakPoint: ''He doesn't have one!'' [[spoiler: But Shirakumo is happy to create one for him!]]
