->'''Played By:''' Creator/MichaelJaiWhite

----
* AfroAsskicker: He's got an afro, and he sure is an asskicker.
* AngryBlackManStereotype: BD's defualt mood is mild annoyance. And he only gets angrier from there.
* ArchEnemy: Fiendish Dr. Wu, a YellowPeril DiabolicalMastermind whom he's clashed with several times before the film, and turns out to be the one who killed his brother.
* BadassLongcoat: He's known to don one.
* BerserkButton: BD has quite a few honestly.
** He is rather touchy about being interrupted doing anything he wants to do.
** Absolutely never call his pimping into question, it's a sure fire way into being a dead man, as Leroy Van Nuys learned the hard way.
* BloodKnight: Black Dynamite loves a good fight. Particularly highlighted in the animated series' Vietnam episode in which he recall his time in Vietnam fondly; the initial flashbacks show him fighting in Vietnam with a massive SlasherSmile on his face.
* ComicallyInvincibleHero: Black Dynamite takes his fighting prowess to parodic levels, effortlessly defeating pretty much everyone who tries to attack him and being able to do things that are superhuman on a daily basis. In fact, the only one who came remotely close to defeating him in the film is [[spoiler: Richard Nixon. That is, until a certain former president Abraham Lincoln's ghost intervenes in the battle.]]
* TheComicallySerious: In the grand tradition of spoof film heroes, Black Dynamite is barely aware that the world he lives in is a comedy, with every single line delivered in complete stone-faced glaring seriousness.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: He had a lonely childhood where his father abandoned him and his mother without a care starting his bitterness, and grew up taunted for being black, leading him to lash out with violence. As such he grew up heavily disliked as the unappreciated rival to the universally liked OJ Simpson.
* ElitesAreMoreGlamorous: A former special ops soldier and CIA officer. In the animated series, Bullhorn refers to him as a former Navy SEAL.
%%* FourTemperamentEnsemble: The Melancholic.
* GagPenis: It extends just below his knees...
* GeniusBruiser: Despite his general demeanor, the BatDeduction scene in the film reveals that he has an excellent knowledge of Greco-Roman mythology and history.
* HairTriggerTemper
* InnocentBigot: While his prejudice to ninjas and "the man" are not so innocent, his stance on the [=LGBT=] comes across as simply "confused" instead of actual fear and hatred.
* {{Kiai}}: Black Dynamite bellows out a kiai whenever he throws a strike. "SUUUUUEEEYYY!!" In the animated series, this borders on VerbalTic.
* NominalHero: He's a good guy insofar in that he stops bad guys...he also has a homicidal temper, general disregard for collateral damage, is irreverently racist, and is just unpleasant to hang around because of his own aggressive behavior. Not to mention the fact he's been stated to be a "black revolutionary, vigilante, pimp, and AntiHero".
* NoSenseOfHumor: While he does laugh on occasion, Black Dynamite is the only person immune to [[TheUnwittingComedian Richard Pryor's]] comedic skills.
* OneManArmy: BD is deservingly described as this.
* OnlySaneMan: In that BD is far more effective at fighting "The Man" than everyone else, not because he is actually more sane than everyone else.
* PapaWolf: BD deeply cares for the orphans in his Whorephanage and responds to any threats, real or otherwise, with an immediate beating of whoever he thinks caused it.
* PerpetualFrowner:
** Black Dynamite wears a stoic, badass expression no matter what he's doing.
-->'''Black Dynamite:''' I ''am'' smiling.
** Subverted in a scene in the movie where he talks about how much the community's been cleaned up after taking down all the dealers in a very upbeat tone of voice, and a bright smile on his face. He then stares at the camera and promptly frowns again.
* PhraseCatcher: "Black Dynamite, you ain't shit!"
* PoliticallyIncorrectHero: He seems to lack any sense of tact and sensitivity to Asians ("Chinamen"), ninjas, puppets and even other Black people sometimes. His treatment of women is also... questionable, such as when he yells at and threatens Euhporia for interrupting him (prompting a fifteen-second uncomfortable silence from bystanders) or claims that [[BlatantLies Black Dynamite is a common name]] to get out of paying child support for his many illegitimate children.
* ShellShockedVeteran: In the animated series' Vietnam episode, he suffers from traumatic flashbacks of his time in Vietnam. He's confused by this because he apparently enjoyed his time in Vietnam.
* SociopathicHero: Black Dynamite displays shades of this, particularly when he [[StuffBlowingUp drops the drug kingpin's car]] [[ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill with a helicopter]], killing him, and [[LaughingMad laughs uncontrollably]]. All the way home. His next target's home. He even referred to his time spent in the Vietnam during the Vietnam War as relaxing and fun due to all the killing he got to do while he was there.
** Also, in ''Taxes and Death'' after [[spoiler:the Movie Producer is killed by the falling sign]].
-->'''Black Dynamite:''' BURN, HOLLYWOOD, BURN!! Ha ha, get it!? BURN!! Hy-sterical.
* ThirdPersonPerson: He has shades of this.
* TookALevelInJerkass: While Black Dynamite was never the most delicate cat in the 'hood, he's a lot more aggressive in the cartoon than he was in the movie.
* WouldHurtAChild: In the episode "Warriors Come Out", he straight up dropped kicked a trick-or-treating child who threatened to tepee his orphanage with toilet paper.
* WouldntHitAGirl: In the episode "Warriors Come Out" or "Mean Queens of Halloween", Black Dynamite refused to actually fight back when he was being chased by Hollywood's [=LGBT=] community because he was told by his mother to "never hit anybody without balls." Due to the various factions of the [=LGBT=] community possessing such a wide spectrum of gender ambiguity, Black Dynamite has a hard time deciding whether or not he can "kick [their] asses in the dick" for this very reason.

[[folder: Bullhorn]]
->'''Played By:''' Byron Minns

----
* ChickMagnet: His rhyming skills are a literal panty dropper, and leads him to a brief career in porn.
%%* FourTemperamentEnsemble: The Choleric.
* HilariouslyAbusiveChildhood: On "Bullhorn Nights or Murder She Throats," it's revealed that Bullhorn's family favored Ringo Mandingo over him because Ringo had a GagPenis...and that his family often made Ringo dance for money while ignoring Bullhorn (even when Bullhorn came home with a perfect report card, a random man told him, "Ah, nobody care about yo' grades," and Bullhorn's mom tells him to get some money from his piggybank for Ringo).
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: He's a parody of Rudy Ray Moore.
* NoIndoorVoice: In the cartoon, most of his lines are shouted and has less soft-spoken moments like he did in the movie.
* RhymesOnADime: Bullhorn apparently picked up the habit (and his mustache) from his mother.

[[folder: Cream Corn]]
->'''Played By:''' Creator/TommyDavidson

----
* AmbiguouslyGay: DudeLooksLikeALady...and often ''acts'' like a HystericalWoman, to boot!
* AtrociousAlias: He thinks his nickname is really something...it's really not.
* ButtMonkey: If something bad is gonna happen to someone, odds are it's gonna be Cream Corn.
%%* CowardlyLion
* DudeLooksLikeALady: Put it this way: Casual viewers of the series can be forgiven for [[ViewerGenderConfusion initially assuming he is a "she".]] Which leads to certain anatomical jokes causing confusion in said viewer's minds.
** Adding to the confusion are the plot points in the Michael Jackson episode regarding Cream Corn. [[FridgeBrilliance But then, maybe Michael was a bit confused about Cream, himself.]]
* ExtremityExtremist: Cream Corn has taken to fighting with kicks in the animated series.
* EveryoneHasStandards: He draws the line at pedophilia, declaring That Frog Kurtis [[NoTrueScotsman isn't a real pimp]] because he hustles children.
%%* FourTemperamentEnsemble: The Sanguine.
%%* JerkWithAHeartOfGold
* SixthRanger: In the film, he joins Black Dynamite's team midway through.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Honeybee]]
->'''Played By:''' Kym Whitley

----
* ActionGirl: Bee is just as capable ass-kicker at the rest.
* AdaptationalAttractiveness: Honey Bee is a couple years younger and a few pounds lighter in the cartoon.
* AdaptationalBadass: In the movie, she's a minor character with no fighting skills. In the show, she's a bonafide ass-kicker.
* AfroAsskicker: A mammoth afro, atop the head of a shuriken-throwing badass.
%%* DeadpanSnarker
* MsFanservice: Bee is a fine woman. And the show takes several moments to show her off.
%%* FourTemperamentEnsemble: The Phlegmatic.
* SassyBlackWoman: And most of that sass is usually directed at Cream Corn.
* InconsistentSpelling: Her name's spelled Honeybee in the movie credits, and Honey Bee in the cartoon credits.
* VictoriasSecretCompartment: Honeybee pulls ninja stars from her cleavage.

[[folder: Base Head]]
->'''Played By:''' Creator/OrlandoJones (rap in the series finale performed by Chance the Rapper)

----
* AddledAddict: Constantly high as a kite and on some kind of drug.
* AmbiguouslyGay: Has no qualms about sucking dicks in exchange for drugs or to make a few extra bucks, and regularly whores himself out at gay pride parades. However, it's difficult to tell if he would still be performing sexual acts with other men if he weren't doing it for money.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Given that he's a drug addict, he's prone to saying and doing bizarre things.
* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: We never find out his real name- everyone just calls him "Base Head."
* DrugsAreBad: In a rare moment of clarity, he admits that he was on a successful path before his addiction consumed every aspect of his life.
* GeniusDitz: Prone to poor decisions and spacing out due to his drug addiction, but there are suggestions throughout the series that Base Head is a very intelligent man and was on his way to a good career before succumbing to his addiction. He was apparently a political science major (and possibly an athlete) in college before failing a drug test and dropping out of school. In his own words, "I coulda been a doctor, or a lawyer, 'cause I'm smarter, but it's harder to think when broke."
* {{Gonk}}: His meth addiction has left him with no teeth and gaunt cheeks.
* MadeOfIron: He has survived death defying injuries like nothing, even being pushed out of a helicopter by President Nixon, he yells out that it's impossible to kill a Base Head, sure enough, he appears in the end completely fine.
* OpportunisticBastard: He will go to any side and sell out anyone to whoever is willing to give him even an ounce of base, be it his own community or the President of the United State.
* ProgressivelyPrettier: A ''very'' downplayed case. In earlier episodes, he looked considerably older and more disturbing. In later episodes, aside from his missing teeth, he's actually somewhat decent-looking.
