[[folder:Melissa Hellrune]]
[[quoteright:175:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Melissa_3530.jpg]]
The leader of the three protagonists, collectively known to fans as the Hellrune Coven, sixteen year-old witch Melissa Hellrune and her friends have been transferred to Artemis Academy for causing a school-wide gender bending incident back at their old AllGhoulsSchool, [[Webcomic/EerieCuties Charybdis Heights]]. Once at the top of the social ladder, Melissa has immediately found herself little more than a nobody at their new school. She's determined to regain her rightful status as 'queen bee' and immediately begins plotting on how to take down Faith Abbott, the student council president and the single most popular girl in Artemis Academy. All while trying to keep under wraps that they're witches in a school for monster hunters.
-----

* AlphaBitch: She usually acts arrogant and aloof towards everybody, the only exceptions are with Cerise, Jacqui or her parents.
* AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents: Dakota and Anastasia. [[spoiler:Melissa and Cerise find them embarrassing even in the middle of their deathmatch.]]
* AppealToForce: [[spoiler:The principal of Charybdis Heights more or less expels the Hellrune Coven for making a rather disastrous incident possible. But when Melissa's magical power is massively boosted by a pair of {{Amplifier Artifact}}s, she intimidates said principal into allowing them back.]]
* AttackReflector: Can do this with the help of the Wand. [[spoiler:Proves useful when she reflects some of Cerise's BlackMagic back at her.]]
* AttractiveBentGender: When she [[ItMakesSenseInContext temporarily gets turned into a guy]], Jacqui asks if she's doing anything after school. Whether or not Jacqui was kidding is up for debate.
* BeatThemAtTheirOwnGame: Jacqui said this was what Mel did when she defeated Rain (used no magic but pure combat ability to beat the Haughty Combat Corpswoman). Reflecting Cerise's fireball back at her could be another example.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: Mel wanted the power of Artemis Academy and [[http://www.magickchicks.com/you-stupid-school got it.]] Unfortunately, that PLUS the Wand she didn't know she had then let her know [[OhCrap something's wrong.]]
* BeingGoodSucks: This is the exact reason she's being reformed, whether she likes it, or not. And it's taking a magic wand, Tiffany's influence, and a mysterious girl to get it done, but [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/stupid-magick-stick Melissa's determined not to change.]] It's even reflected in the comic's tagline: ''"Being good, never felt so '''BAD!'''"''
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: [[spoiler:Witch Melissa becomes genuinely proud and fond of her MagicalGirl sister when she learns that she is in fact capable of killing her.]]
* BornOfMagic: Discussed during chapter 17, as one of several possible explanations of Mel's birth[[note]]see the ExtraParentConception entry[[/note]].
* BreakTheHaughty: This seems to be the basic goal of her and the Hellrune Coven being sent to Artemis Academy in the first place. It's debatable if it's working, but it's certainly frustrating her to no end.
** Subverted, in that [[spoiler:the Principal of Charybdis Heights sent the Hellrune Coven there [[TheMole specifically to gain information on what goes on at Artemis Academy]] -- their minds are simply wiped after reporting in each time]].
** '''Double''' Subverted in that The Wand is intent on forcing Melissa into becoming a better person... whether she wants to or not.
** And played with given her latest ''Webcomic/EerieCuties'' appearance lamenting she hates the Wand, Tiff and that there are no boys in Artemis Academy -- and she misses boys. A big fall from where she was on top at Charybdis Heights.
* CantGetAwayWithNothing: Nothing she's planned has worked out the way she's wanted so far. The fact that Cerise has the exact opposite happen only seems to amplify her frustration.
** Recently she had to face Cerise in combat duels... and it was ''Cerise'' who got served HumblePie thanks to the Wand deflecting her own attack back to the redhead.
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: As a result of training with Tiffany, she can punch the ground hard enough to make big chunks of rock rise up.
* ChekhovsGun: The magical girl dream from the first page twice now. The first time during her fight with Faith, and then [[spoiler:when it turns out she really ''is'' a MagicalGirl.]]
* ChildhoodFriends: With Jacqui.
* CreateYourOwnVillain: Prior to the transfer, life had been good to Mel. The same couldn't be said for [[WithFriendsLikeThese the way she]] [[http://www.magickchicks.com/you-had-that-look treated her friends]], (not that Cerise [[ChronicBackstabbingDisorder was ever]] [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/better-you-than-me[=.=] much of a friend]]). But the fact was, she was already harboring resentment towards Mel [[http://www.magickchicks.com/poor-innocent-brother for stealing her thunder back in middle school]], compounded by her constant good fortune, which left her feeling she was stuck [[AlwaysSomeoneBetter living in Mel's shadow.]] Predictably, [[http://www.magickchicks.com/quite-popular by the time Mel started to realize it]], the damage had already been done. Cerise had reached her limit [[http://www.magickchicks.com/you-chose-her both mentally and emotionally]] and wanted Mel '''[[MurderTheHypotenuse GONE.]]'''
* CrocodileTears: [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/let-me-make-this-up-to-you Has a spell to generate these when she wants to manipulate someone]].
* CurbStompBattle:
** Mel judo-flips Rain without thinking, then launches into kung-fu against her. All the while, she's not sure [[HowDoIShotWeb how she's doing it.]]
** Facing Cerise's big monster, she pounds the ground to throw up boulders at it -- and make it go "sob sob." She then uses the Wand to send Cerise's fireball back at her.
* DaddysGirl: ironic for a witch, doubly ironic in that her "Daddy" isn't a daddy at all.
* DoesNotKnowHerOwnStrength: She unintentionally gave Tandy a mild concussion when she struck her with a magic powered bitchslap (in retaliation [[GetAholdOfYourselfMan for Tandy belting her first]]).
* DiscardAndDraw: [[spoiler:Cerise cuts off Melissa's connection to the Wand by transferring a share of Hekate's power to her, but the result makes Melissa the world's most powerful witch instead. However, thanks to Melissa not being familiar with this power, the battle changes from evenly matched to a CurbStompBattle in Cerise's favor]].
* DisproportionateRetribution: [[spoiler:Witch!Melissa attempts to kill Magical Girl!Melissa over her snoring.]]
* EmpathicWeapon: The wand she discovers in an early storyline turns out to have a mind of its own, including forcing her to train with Tiffany every morning and showing an image of Tiff dead to guilt-trip Melissa into helping. When Mel faces Cerise, it appears within grab range -- and given Cerise then goes for her Fireball to end the fight, Mel doesn't shoo the wand away -- and uses it to send that fireball back at Cerise.
** MorphWeapon: She sees the wand turn into a sword when Ash asks for one, but decides of a better way to stop a frenzied Brooke. [[spoiler:Getting it to become a magical megaphone, [[SonicStunner she screams]] "SNAP OUT OF IT!" at Brooke to stun the melusine.]]
* EvilCostumeSwitch: [[spoiler:After Cerise transfers a dose of Hekate's power into Melissa, her embarrassing MagicalGirl outfit is replaced with a black dress]].
* EvilIsPetty: Whenever Melissa's in "Heel" mode, she'll lash out at anyone who gets on her bad side, [[http://www.magickchicks.com/even-for-you! even if it's unprovoked.]] [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/art_scholarship_-_interlude_%28guest_strip%29_2_of_4 Layla even wound up without her breasts just because she snarked on her,]] since Mel couldn't think of a comeback! She also has a habit of [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/(chapter_9)_big_girls_do_not_cry trying to steal]] [[http://www.magickchicks.com/touch-of-blonde other girls' boyfriends]], [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/other_girlfriend out of spite]], though she's never succeeded.
* ExtraParentConception: Due to the complicated circumstances of her birth, she could have 2-4 parents. Or possibly, two sets of parents, since neither Dakota or Anastasia know for certain which of them was actually pregnant at the time, as both had reason to believe that either, or both of them, could have been. [[spoiler:The "both Dakota and Anastasia were pregnant theory" gets a boost when Cerise fissions Melissa into her light and dark aspects.]] They've even theorized that it's possible Mel may have [[spoiler:been created by whatever force fused them together, since they separated]] when her umbilical cord was cut (Sandi promptly votes for this one because it's [[RuleOfCool just so cool]]).
* GlowingEyes: Happens twice to Melissa.
** When she was in her first Combat Duel (against Faith), she got them when she tapped into the school -- and the power overwhelmed her, turning into a destructive force (that Level 9 magical event that scared Professor Delatorre).
** After she asserts herself as successor to Faith in front of the Academy's student body, Cerise goes "Empress beats President!" and lays a Hekate-powered hand on Melissa. Mel's eyes glow and the hand shatters as Mel transforms into her CuteWitch MagicalGirl outfit, resolved to end this.
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: It mainly depends on which comic she's in and her role in each chapter, since she makes appearances in both.
** In ''Webcomic/EerieCuties'', she's almost always a villain and Layla's primary antagonist. The early parts of the comic had her try to overthrow Layla as Charybdis Heights most popular girl, by trying to steal her boyfriend. And in a set of guest strips, she [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/art_scholarship_-_interlude_(guest_strip)_2_of_4 cast a spell on Layla]] to take away her boobs, just because Layla snarked on her, and couldn't think of a comeback. She didn't reverse the spell 'til Brooke arrived... begrudgingly.
*** She's even become [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/make_a_skirt_for_yourself antagonistic towards Brooke]], after learning [[spoiler:Ace]] was [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/other_girlfriend her boyfriend]], and has decided to steal him from her. Though it remains to be seen if she'll still want him now that [[spoiler:Tia's removed the confidence boost she gave him, along with the leftover magic in his body. Which has reverted him back to his old look from the beginning of the comic.]]
** ''Webcomic/MagickChicks'' casts her in a somewhat better light, where the primary focus is to try to reform her by turning her into a heroine. But it's been difficult, [[BeingGoodSucks since she's determined not to change.]] Even the realization that [[spoiler:she's begun to care more about her friends, and less about popularity]] was enough to surprise her; causing her to literally run away in panic!
* HeroicBSOD: Everything goes wrong for her pretty much at once. Jacqui [[spoiler:might be dead, her "father" is a woman and her parents actually hate each other, Cerise isn't ''and might never have been'' her friend, she's not a pureblood witch]], among other things. She laments "I don't even ''have'' friends... all I have is people I'm pretty sure won't attack me." Tandy gives a GetAHoldOfYourselfMan slap to try to snap her out of it.
* [[HeroOfAnotherStory Heroine of Another Story]]: Melissa is a literal, albeit {{inverted|Trope}}, example. She was originally from ''Eerie Cuties'', where she was an antagonist, while ''Magick Chicks'' casts her as the protagonist (see HeelFaceRevolvingDoor).
* HumiliationConga: She's been on one from the word go, but she hits her low point when it's revealed [[spoiler:that she's a MagicalGirl, complete with an embarrassing outfit]]. This is an odd example since it's been an absolute nightmare for her, but she has a great number of girls at Artemis singing her praises... which is exactly what she wanted in the first place, just not how she wanted to get there.
* {{Hypocrite}}: She got mad at Ash for treating ''her'' [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/i_do_not_need_your_favors as "a plaything"]], yet saw nothing wrong with doing the same thing [[spoiler:[[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/a_new_steady_so_soon_after_me to Ace]]]].
* {{Irony}}: In so many ways she hadn't foreseen:
** At the beginning of the comic, she wanted to overthrow Faith and take her position as Artemis' [[AlphaBitch 'queen bee'.]] [[spoiler:Now she has it... [[http://www.magickchicks.com/quite-popular when she no longer cares about it.]] And Faith has [[PassingTheTorch handed her position to her.]]]]
** Speaking of Faith, Mel used to want nothing to do with her. Now she's gone at a time when Melissa could use her help the most. Both for defeating [[spoiler:[[BigBadFriend Cerise]]]] and to teach her the responsibilities of being [[spoiler:the new student council president.]]
** Melissa also used to [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/wheatgrass_juice complain about Tiff and her insane workouts.]] Now she's gone too, along with the student council. And there's no telling when, or if, any of them will return. Well, Melissa, [[BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor how's that for service?]]
* InstantExpert: She already knew she was getting physically stronger thanks to her training with Tiffany, but much to her own surprise, she has also somehow become a KungFuWizard.
* ItsAllAboutMe: She's determined to become Artemis Academy's [[AlphaBitch 'Queen Bee']], by overthrowing [[SmugSuper Faith.]]
** [[spoiler:[[ItMakesSenseInContext A quick massage that focuses on pressure points that stimulate truthful answers]] reveals that she no longer cares about that and is more concerned that she's been wronging her friends recently...then she freaks out when she realizes what she just said.]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: While she treated most people coldly, Melissa is very loving towards her family as well as her friends.
* KungFuWizard: With the help of the wand and Tiffany's training, she is capable of kung-fu and judo moves, despite knowing nothing about martial arts. Even depowered, she'd probably be deadly.
* LiteralSplitPersonality: [[spoiler:Cerise's "you want Hekate's power? Here, take it." attack separates Mel's light and dark sides, incidentally lending credence to the "Mel is a fusion of two fetuses" theory. The two Melissas later show the ability to split and merge at will, and they do so regularly to live a double life]].
* LukeIMightBeYourFather: [[spoiler:Melissa's biological parentage is in such serious question that it's unclear who her ''mother'' is, let alone her father. There are two possible mothers, but it's possible that she's a chimera of [[HomosexualReproduction fetuses from both mothers]], or that [[MysticalPregnancy she was immaculately conceived by a magical event]]. Oh, and one of her mothers ReallyGetsAround, so there's absolutely no clues as to who the father would be if she's the mother.]]
* MadeASlave: [[spoiler:Witch Melissa tricks MagicalGirl Melissa into dropping her guard, has her captured by hired goons, and ships her off to be sold as a sex slave to a sultan's harem. It backfires on said sultan after she leads a slave revolt.]]
* MagicalGirl: [[spoiler:Melissa is revealed to be one in [[http://www.magickchicks.com/one-of-those-magical-girls in this strip!]]]]
* MamasBabyPapasMaybe: [[spoiler:Subverted. Due to magical shenanigans, Melissa's biological mother and father are ''both'' in question.]]
* MeatPuppet: It would be more accurate to say that the Wand wields Melissa than the other way around.
** The first time, she just tapped into the power of Artemis Academy and it [[PowerIncontinence overwhelmed her,]] turning her into a wild, mindless force of power even Faith got concerned about. Mel is only stopped when The Wand's taken out of her.
*** And later Professor Delatorre finds out a Level Nine Magical Event happened around the time Mel got the wand. [[spoiler:Which this was.]]
** After she's shown to be a true MagicalGirl, The Wand thinks Tiffany is a good role model to train with and uses Tiff to train Mel's previously "porcelain doll" body to be more able to fight ForGreatJustice. This involves getting Mel to go through TrainingFromHell whether willing (she's not) or even conscious (when The Wand senses Tiff one night Mel's still asleep as Tiff does "night training" to help Mel [[TimeToUnlockMoreTruePotential become a better fighter even without magick.]] It looks like Mel's doing all this in her sleep or at least with her eyes closed). Once Mel finds out about the night training and realizes what happens, she's not happy about it.
* NinjaPirateZombieRobot: She's a CuteWitch MagicalGirl, 'cuz she's the daughter of a former MagicalGirl and an [[EvilSorcerer Evil Sorcereress]], who was made by magical reproduction and possibly ExtraParentConception via FusionDance. And, as the daughter of [[spoiler:Queen Obscuria]], that also makes Mel [[spoiler:a Princess]].
* NominalHero: The crux of the comic's plot was to try to reform Melissa into being a heroine. But as noted in the HeelFaceRevolvingDoor entry, Melissa is still [[BeingGoodSucks a work]] [[AlphaBitch in progress.]]
* OvershadowedByAwesome: While she and the Coven were fairly high on the social ladder at Charybdis Heights, [[Webcomic/EerieCuties Layla]] held the distinction of being the most popular girl at the school, despite Melissa's attempts to overthrow her. She'd eventually learn that [[AlphaBitch there were bigger fish]] [[http://www.magickchicks.com/good-sports than Layla]] when they were [[ReassignedToAntarctica shipped off to Artemis.]]
* PetTheDog: She may be petty enough to be concerned with something like being the top of the social chain at school, but when [[spoiler:Hekate mind-controls two students to kill Faith and Tiffany and destroy the wand]], Mel admits to not wanting the two of them to get hurt; which says a lot, since she's determined to [[spoiler:dethrone Faith.]]
* PowerLevels: Though she's unaware of it, she's [[spoiler:generated a level nine magical event that has the Artemis staff on edge.]]
* PowerMakeover: Of a comedic torment variety. Mel got taste in clothes keen enough that Hekate puts up with her antics for this and she's ''vain''. As such, she loudly objects when whatever she wears is transformed into [[http://www.magickchicks.com/the-magic-thingy-agrees something more utilitary]]. Her opinion on the MagicalGirl outfits is that [[http://www.magickchicks.com/hero-get-a-kiss she'd rather run around naked]], [[http://www.magickchicks.com/most-unorthodox thank you very much]].
* PowerDyesYourHair: [[spoiler:When Cerise breaks off Mel's connection to the Wand by transferring Hekate's magic to her, Melissa's hair turns black]].
* PowerGlows: Twice, but the big one is [[spoiler:[[http://www.magickchicks.com/wake-up-wake-up when she finally gets a hold of the wand]]]]!
* PyrrhicVictory: Her goal was to overthrow Faith and claim [[AlphaBitch her position]] for herself. Mel ''did'' become popular at the school, though never in any of the ways she could be proud of. With the trope finally coming into play at the end of chapter 15, when [[spoiler:circumstances prompts Faith to [[http://www.magickchicks.com/make-a-break abdicate her position to Mel]]]].
* ReluctantHero: In the editor's own words, Melissa is content to be the wicked witch and fears being changed. But the wand and Tiffany are determined to [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/feeling_froggy_are_we reform her into a heroine.]]
%%* SecretLegacy:
* SphereOfPower: When she got the wand.
* ShockwaveStomp: When Cerise squared off against Mel, during their combat exams, she tried to intimidate Mel by summoning a giant mantis. Mel responded by flattening it with [[GroundPound with a punch]] hard enough to [[http://www.magickchicks.com/sob-sob make an impact crater.]]
* SkewedPriorities: Mel was aghast to hear that her mother wasn't popular in highschool, yet thought nothing of the fact that Ana had [[spoiler:tried to banish her classmates to the Shadow Realm]] out of jealousy.
* SquishyWizard: [[FlawExploitation Originally played straight and exploited by Faith]]. But after a bunch of training from Tiffany, [[NoSell it gets averted]] to the [[StunnedSilence shock of all present]].
* ToughLove: Gets this twice from Tandy:
** When Tandy brings in some taken take-out, Mel's still mourning [[spoiler:Jaqcui]]. Tandy makes it known her first priority is keeping Mel alive and going.
** When Mel feels her life has been a lie ([[spoiler:her "father" is really a woman and her parents really hated each other, Cerise isn't ''and might not ever have been'' her friend, she's not a pureblood witch]], among other things) and gets wangst in "Things'll never be like they were in my old school!" Tandy delivers a GetAHoldOfYourselfMan slap to snap Mel out of it.
* UngratefulBitch: Mel tells the cat the Wand's done nothing to fight Faith. What did it do instead? Give her a dumb costume, control her body, and ruin her love life (obvious downsides). She then adds, "Teach me kung-fu, improve my grades, make me popular at school..." and thinks THOSE might not be QUITE as bad (though possibly not enough to counter the earlier disadvantages). What tilts her into this? Breaking the 3-3 tie with the cat bothering her Siamese as a downside.
* {{Unpaused}}: When exposed to the [[spoiler:Wand]] in the middle of a conversation, she falls into a trance. When the [[spoiler:Wand]] is taken away, she resumes her conversation as if nothing happened until she notices the person she was speaking to is no longer there.
* UnsoundEffect: She sends the fireball back at Cerise with a "BOUNCE".
* YouAreInCommandNow: [[spoiler:Faith appoints Melissa as the new student council president, moments before she and the others vanish.]]

[[folder:Jacqui Brightmoon]]
[[quoteright:175:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Jacqui_5431.jpg]]
Childhood friend of Melissa and the second of the protagonists, sixteen year-old Jacqui is for all intents and purposes a stereotypical boy-crazy high school girl. Like Melissa, Jacqui is a witch who specializes in illusions and glamour. Unlike Melissa and Cerise, Jacqui doesn't seem nearly as concerned with rising to the top of Artemis' social system. Usually the ditz of the group, Jacqui's attention span is about as long as the distance to the nearest cute guy. Though easily distracted, her moments of competence raise questions of if it's just an act or not...
-----

* ChildhoodFriends: With Melissa.
* TheCloudCuckoolanderWasRight: Twice, during the ''"Spies and Imposters"'' chapter, though she wasn't being serious either time:
** First she suspected something was unusual about Rain, though Sandi thought Jacqui was referring to Skye's uncharacteristic behavior, at the time. Jacqui told her she meant [[http://www.magickchicks.com/wildly-out-of-character Rain's dye job]], and decribed it as [[http://www.magickchicks.com/last-to-leave-gym-class "angry hair".]] Sandi disregarded it as nonsense and decided she was better off conducting the investigation on her own. Except Jacqui was proven correct mere minutes later, though not for the reason she had expected[[note]]see the ArmorPiercingQuestion entry in Rain's section[[/note]].
** Prior to that, she mentioned the possibility that Faith [[spoiler:might be the traitor and joked about her sleeping with the enemy]]. At the end of the chapter, she learned Faith talks in her sleep and [[http://www.magickchicks.com/these-vulnerable-moments realized she'd been right]].
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: She's undeniably ditzy and not brave, but has quick tactical thinking and has shown herself to be a capable fighter against Chastity. In fact, it's beginning to look like ''all'' of it might be an act. [[spoiler:Like Melissa and Cerise, she was put under an amnesia spell to spy on Artemis Academy. Unlike Melissa and Cerise, she actually managed to dig up some important information, and reported her findings in a crisp and professional manner]].
* DeadpanSnarker: Jacqui is typically the nice one of the group, but she has her moments. Like the time Mel complained about them being shipped to an AllGirlSchool, prompting Jacqui to remind her they'd been kicked out of Charybdis because Mel's shortsightedness nearly ''[[http://www.magickchicks.com/wink! turned IT]]'', into one. But in most cases, her snark is delivered in the form of [[http://www.magickchicks.com/spoiler-alert! playful sarcasm]].
* TheDitz: Jacqui has a very airheaded attitude, barely paying attention to anything that doesn't interest her.
* DoubleStandardRapeFemaleOnMale: Mr. Delatorre [[http://www.magickchicks.com/highly-inappropriate wouldn't sleep with her]] because she's a minor and one of his students. So she used [[http://www.magickchicks.com/more-convincing a glamour]] to pose as a member of the faculty. The incident is treated lightheartedly and brushed aside without Jacqui suffering any karmic backlash.
* FeminineWomenCanCook / ThroughHisStomach: Thanks to her side-romance with Paul, she's the only one we ''know'' can cook (Faith tried, but was told she's a "terrible cook"). [[http://www.magickchicks.com/want-some-waffles Want some waffles?]]
* FriendToAllLivingThings: She has one of Cerise's magical puppies, and in the camping trip, shows she likes bunnies and recently got a puma to act like a big kitty.
* GeniusDitz: She initially seems like an airhead, which, as it turns out, ''isn't entirely'' an act. But she's far more intelligent than she lets on.
** Jacqui knows her lore and is skilled enough with glamour spells that she's able to cast multiple illusions at once, without anyone suspecting; including [[http://www.magickchicks.com/your-heart-desire their magic instructor, Mr. Delatorre.]]
** It's later revealed in ''Webcomic/DangerouslyChloe'' that Jacqui used to be a straight-A student. Though it isn't known how she's fared academically, since then.
* {{Glamour}}: Each of the Hellrunes specializes in a specific form of magic. Jacqui's specialty are illusion spells (referred to as "glamours"), which she used during her combat exam to disguise herself as Sandi, [[http://www.magickchicks.com/en-garde! to goad Chastity]] [[http://www.magickchicks.com/quit-your-whining into knocking herself out.]]
* TheGlomp: How she helps Faith beat Ash--by glomping his midsection with a little affection. He said nobody could lay a hand on him? Jacqui laid TWO hands--and a cheek and two arms with UnsoundEffect [[TheGlomp GLOMP!)]] to boot.
* HotLibrarian: The disguise she used to seduce Mr. Delatorre.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: Though from Sandi's point of view, there was nothing "innocent" about it. When Jacqui mentioned the possibility of Faith being [[spoiler:the traitor and joked about her sleeping with the enemy]], Sandi [[DudeNotFunny took offense to both insinuations and belted her]].
* KarmaHoudini: As previously noted, Mr. Delatorre never finds out that he was deceived into sleeping with one of his students and she gets away with it, scot-free.
* LovableCoward: She's [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/magick_chicks_-_holiday_special_-_2_of_2 the easiest to scare]] of her coven and Melissa sees her [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/school_of_monstery_monsters as bit of a cry-baby]]. Jacqui herself [[SelfDeprecation pictured this trait overblown]] in her illusion during the "sparring" with Chastity, to lull an opponent into incaution.
** Played straight when [[TortureTechnician Gabrielle]] threatens to remove her fingernails. The fear of physical pain causes Jacqui to immediately drop her disguise as Faith...or maybe it was just the idea of her nails being ruined. [[ObfuscatingStupidity It's hard to tell...]]
* MasterOfIllusion: Noted in the GeniusDitz entry.
* MotorMouth: Enough to send even Faith [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere running for the door]] after listening to [[WallOfText her incessant wall of blather]], for over 10 minutes straight.
* NiceGirl: She's the only one of the coven who isn't mean. While going along with the other two and having her own share of tricks and intrigues, she is yet to show ill will toward anyone at all.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: Between casting an illusion spell on multiple people at once and disrobing to cover for the fact she's rummaging through her teacher's desk, one has to wonder if she really is a ditz or is it just an act. ''Dangerously Chloe'' reveals that she was a straight-A student with no interest in boys until [[spoiler:succubus Chloe messed with her personality stats, turning her into a GeniusDitz with a severe case of DistractedByTheSexy hardwired into her brain.]]
* ReallyGetsAround: Second only to Faith, in that regard. [[http://www.magickchicks.com/on-my-desk How can she strip so quickly?]] [[http://www.magickchicks.com/highly-inappropriate Practice!]]
** ''Dangerously Chloe'' reveals that [[spoiler:it's Chloe's fault thanks to time travel shenanigans.]]
* {{Squee}}: Her reaction to her teacher, Leandro Delatorre.
** She also gleefully accepts Cerise's offer of a "free" (newly-summoned) [[PreciousPuppy puppy.]] Later on bunnies on the camping trip [[http://www.magickchicks.com/bla-blar-blah make her do this]], then a deer, and finally [[http://www.magickchicks.com/all-they-do-is-stare a photo op]] where animals have just cozied up to Sandi.
** SayItWithHearts + WingdingEyes: While talking to [[http://www.magickchicks.com/you-had-that-look Chase]] (x1). And [[http://www.magickchicks.com/a-private-moment Paul]] (x1) ... [[http://www.magickchicks.com/smoked-salmon and again]]. And [[http://www.magickchicks.com/you-should-know-better Ash]] (x3). 134** Also, ''[[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/better_you_than_me%2E seconds after]]'' Melissa was [[GenderBender transformed into a boy]], Jacqui falls for her and gets all googley-eyed.
* SexySantaDress: "Merry Witchmas!" [[http://www.magickchicks.com/strips-mc/merry_witchmas! has Jacqui in one.]]
* SheIsAllGrownUp: An old photo of hers is shown in ''Dangerously Chloe'' where it was shown her younger self had been the next-door neighbor of Teddy, the male protagonist, and wore glasses at the time. Contrast that to her present self.
* TeacherStudentRomance: Jacqui is boy crazy, especially if they're cute. So she instantly falls for their magic instructor, Mr. Delatorre, the moment she lays eyes on him.

[[folder:Cerise Darkshade]]
[[quoteright:175:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Cerise_218.jpg]]
The third and youngest of the protagonists, fifteen year-old Cerise Darkshade may very well be even more ambitious than Melissa in climbing the social ladder. With a plotting streak that would make Starscream himself proud, Cerise seems to be constantly thinking of ways to overthrow Melissa as leader of the Hellrune Coven and has even used her as a shield against a gender bending beam during the Charybdis Heights incident. Now at the bottom of the social ladder with Melissa and Jacqui, Cerise has set her sights beyond the coven and is now focused on the ultimate victory of reaching the top of Artemis Academy before Melissa can.
-----

* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: [[spoiler:Cerise ''likes'' Callista, but after witnessing corrupted Skye's dark, hedonistic behaviour, she finds herself falling for Skye even more.]]
* AllYourBaseAreBelongToUs: She's cut Faith's connection to the school and is ready to remake Artemis Academy into her own image after she's stabilized. And make all the girls love her, ready to give Melissa her first threat to her popularity.
-->'''Cerise:''' Who's popular ''now,'' Melissa?
* AmbiguouslyBi: She's had at least two boyfriends in the past, though both turned out to be gay and wound up dating each other instead. And while she pretended to date [[spoiler:Callista]], she seems to have genuine feelings for Skye. [[spoiler:Or not.]]
* AmbitionIsEvil: Cerise wants to become Artemis Acadamy's queen bee and she will do anything, including manipulation and murder, to reach her goal.
* AttackReflector: [[spoiler:When Cerise corrupts Melissa, Melissa starts torturing Cerise with magic. Cerise manages to grab Melissa's hand and turn her own attack back on her]].
* AttentionWhore: See the ItsAllAboutMe entry, further down.
* BadBoss: She gets angry at Skye for [[spoiler:not knowing whether Melissa and the student council were all teleported, even though it was were ''her'' plan. Making it her own fault for not making sure it got carried out.]]
* BecomingTheMask: She initially claimed to be straight and only pretended to date [[spoiler:Callista]] in order to gain popularity. But as time went on, she seemed to develop genuine affection for her. [[spoiler:Until she no longer needed her and tried to have her killed along with the rest of the student council.]]
* BigBadFriend: Cerise's jealousy and resentment towards Mel culminates in her betraying her and Jacqui, by luring them into a trap and outting them as witches. Then she [[spoiler:severes Faith's psychic connection to school and [[AllYourBaseAreBelongToUs uses it to takeover]] -- right before attempting to mass murder them along with the student council, by teleporting them into a volcano]]!
* BlackEyesOfEvil: [[spoiler:After Cerise's power is magnified by Hecate's potion, and she antagonizes the Student Council as well as her former coven, her eyes are completely black.]]
* BreakTheHaughty: Any time she's shown up by Melissa, or whenever Mel gains more recognition than her. The worst two instances being when she was [[http://www.magickchicks.com/skiiiiiiid humiliated in front of the entire school]], after challenging Mel for the next combat exam. And especially when she thought [[spoiler:Hecate was about to bestow her with a new power and make her the Coven's new leader. Except Hecate was [[http://www.magickchicks.com/not-meant-for-your-world talking about Mel, not her.]]]]
* BullyingADragon: [[spoiler:Cerise's attempt to cut off Melissa's connection to The Wand [[GoneHorriblyRight Goes Horribly Right]], corrupting Melissa into a ruthless witch and leaving her considerably stronger than Cerise. Cerise manages to spit in Melissa's face, and Melissa gleefully retaliates with an extremely painful spell]].
* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: She's backstabbed Melissa at every opportunity, from shoving Mel into the path of genderbending beam to save herself, to plotting ways to take over, and even [[http://www.magickchicks.com/forbidden-magicks tried to cheat]] for their match at the combat exam. But the worst example, by far, was when she [[spoiler:outted Melissa and Jacqui as witches while they were alone and [[http://www.magickchicks.com/cut-their-heads-off surrounded by the student council!]] She then proceeds to attempt killing them all by teleporting them into a volcano. She includes Callista, her would be girlfriend among her victims. Her second girlfriend, Skye, is also betrayed by Cerise as part of a gambit to eliminate Melissa.]]
* TheCorrupter: She got Skye down her path for her StartofDarkness, and it's shown in recent strips [[spoiler:after she drinks Hekate's potion that she is becoming "Mr. Inky," a black-skinned being that helps finish it when Skye willingly absorbs the excess energy to save Cerise from dying.]]
* CrushBlush: She's recently developed this anytime Skye puts her on the spot about the things they've done in their private time. Particularly when Skye snarks at Cerise's comment about "no one [[LampshadedDoubleEntendre bringing her to her knees."]]
* {{Depower}}: [[spoiler:She sacrifices the power Hecate gave her in order to spite Melissa, in an effort to sever her connection to the Wand]].
* DidntThinkThisThrough: While she's good at manipulating others and playing on their emotions, [[AndThenWhat she never seems to plan ahead]], or have contingency plans in case they fail. It gets lampshaded, by Melissa, [[http://www.magickchicks.com/like-dating-a-guy here]] and, by [[spoiler:Hecate]], [[http://www.magickchicks.com/caught-in-the-spell here.]]
** Faith also said it was the reason Cerise's plan to [[spoiler:kill them]] failed. She ''did'' teleport them as she intended, but as Faith pointed out, it also [[spoiler:took the ground they were standing on ''with them'', which plugged the volcano [[http://www.magickchicks.com/ya-done-goofed and protected them from its toxic fumes]] long enough for them to escape]].
** PlayedForLaughs in the epilogue. [[spoiler:Melissa keeps her promise and asks Cerise what she wants the coven to do. However, Cerise never thought about what she'd do once she was in charge [[AllForNothing and decides to just go with what Melissa wants]]]].
* DisproportionateRetribution: She was willing to [[spoiler:kill her two best friends]], along with seven other girls, simply because she envied Mel and [[MistreatmentInducedBetrayal didn't like the way Mel treated her]].
* EasilyForgiven: A mutual case. [[spoiler:Cerise grows so bitter towards Melissa's popularity and mistreatment of her, that she enslaves the entire school with mind control and makes multiple cases of attempted murder, including against Melissa. After a big fight, not only does Melissa forgive and apologize to her, Cerise happily accepts it and returns Melissa's hug. Faith is slightly less forgiving and {{lampshade|Hanging}}s it, but Melissa is able to use her new position as student council president to make the school let her go]].
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: {{Subverted|Trope}}. It initially seemed that she cared about Skye when the latter tainted her soul to save Cerise. But she was ultimately a means to an end for her, as Cerise eventually betrayed her too.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: She can't understand why'd Melissa want to date a boy since it won't make her popular.
* EvilIsPetty: Everything she's done at their new school has been for the sake of one-upping Melissa and she doesn't care who she has to step on, or whose feelings she hurts, to do it... [[http://www.magickchicks.com/taking-a-while except that one time.]] She's even gone so far as to [[spoiler:out her friends as witches and has allegedly teleported them into a volcano]]!
* EvilRedhead: Subverted, only in the sense that it isn't Cerise's natural hair color, but it most certainly applies otherwise. She's the most manipulative and generally meanspirited of the Coven, and there's no level she won't sink to in order to get what she wants [[spoiler:even if it means betraying her friends, [[WhatTheHellHero by trying to have them killed.]]]]
* GreenEyedMonster: Turns out she not keen on being second banana to Melissa, which dates as far back as when they were pre-teens.
* HoistByHerOwnPetard: During the ''"Two Words"'' chapter, [[http://www.magickchicks.com/choose-your-opponent she chose Mel]] as her opponent for her next combat exam, then stole [[http://www.magickchicks.com/forbidden-magicks a tome of forbidden spells]] to try to gain the advantage. But when she tried to use one her forbidden arts, Mel used the wand [[AttackReflector to send it back.]] Cerise [[DidntSeeThatComing didn't see that one]] [[http://www.magickchicks.com/skiiiiiiid coming]].
* IdiotBall[=/=]VillainBall: As mentioned in the DidntThinkThisThrough example, Cerise's main flaw is that she has long-term goals, but often suffers from short-term thinking. Therefore, her success is equally dependent on things simply falling into place for her, then capitalizing on the outcome.
** At other times, she'll simply walk into a situation blindly, due to excessive self-confidence, without stopping to consider how things could possibly go wrong for her. Such as [[http://www.magickchicks.com/choose-your-opponent when she challenged Melissa]] for the next round of combat exams. She was aware Mel was more powerful than she was, so she [[http://www.magickchicks.com/forbidden-magicks tried to cheat]] by using a tome of forbidden spells, thinking it'd give her the advantage; not knowing what type of power she was ''actually'' up against[[note]]Cerise didn't know about the wand, or the fact Melissa's physical strength and fighting ability had been enhanced from training with Tiffany for over a month[[/note]]. Which resulted in her being [[http://www.magickchicks.com/skiiiiiiid humiliated in front of the entire school.]]
** But the most egregious instance, was when she literally showed up on Mel's doorstep to try to [[spoiler:kill her]] [[http://www.magickchicks.com/chapter-18_-_can-melissa-come-out-and-play while both her parents were home]], and was brazen enough to brag about [[spoiler:having killed Jacqui]] and the others by allegedly [[spoiler:teleporting them into a volcano]]. Once again, not knowing what she was getting herself into[[note]]Anastasia happens to be Queen Obscuria, a former Class A supervillain. While Dakota was formerly Musical Starlight, a MagicalGirl powerful enough to single-handedly repel the invasion of Montreal 18 years ago[[/note]] and was only [[http://www.magickchicks.com/not-so-fast spared another potential curbstomping]] thanks to [[spoiler:Hecate teleporting Mel's parents [[http://www.magickchicks.com/offerings-upon-me to her location]]]].
* {{Irony}}: Melissa seems to have pretty much dropped any effort to regaining her queen bee status and, though she's not fond of Cerise's haughtiness or her methods to get popular, doesn't seem to care either what Cerise does now. But Cerise can't get over how Melissa usurped her former AlphaBitch status and antagonizes her over reasons as petty as a few of the students liking her.
* ItsAllAboutMe: [[http://www.magickchicks.com/hope-it-pleases-you A picture is worth a thousand words.]] It's bad enough that she's [[UnwittingPawn using Callista]] to climb Artemisis' social ladder, but she stoops as low as to use [[spoiler:a nude painting of herself]] to hog the spotlight, at her girlfriend's birthday party!
* {{Jerkass}}: She's amoral, disloyal and selfish, with few redeeming qualities. [[spoiler:And that was ''before'' she drank Hekate's potion and turned completely evil]].
* JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope: She starts off using amoral means to acquire popularity, but was only marginally worse than Melissa. As she grew more obsessed with one-upping Mel (and popularity, in general), she became increasingly underhanded, shallow, and manipulative. [[spoiler:But it isn't until she drank Hekate's potion that she became unambiguously evil. Her first act was to use her newly acquired power to plant a suggestion in the minds of the student council and her former friends, to have them all go into the woods, so she could get rid of them permanently.]]
* KamehameHadoken: Cerise attempted to show up Melissa in front of the entire school by challenging her for their next combat exam. During which, she tried to defeat Melissa with a forbidden fire spell.
* KarmaHoudini:
** For much of the earlier parts of the comic, things usually went her way; often completely unscathed. Mel even [[LampshadeHanging lampshades it]], following yet another of Cerise's "victories", by saying what many fans had been thinking for sometime:
--->'''Melissa:''' ''[deadpan]'' [[http://www.magickchicks.com/luckiest-bitch You are the luckiest bitch alive.]]
** The series ended with Mel letting Cerise off clean after everything she's done; including [[spoiler:attempted murder]]. She decreed they were [[spoiler:returning to Charybdis Heights]] and made it so no one can come after her for revenge.
* MassHypnosis: One of her powers after [[spoiler:imbibing a potion to magnify her magic. She was able to control most of Artemis Academy near instantly. The stronger willed students were able to resist the immediate effects, but she can still control them with added effort]].
* MassTeleportation: Her biggest attempt to grab popularity and power from Faith, Melissa, and anyone else who could stop her, was to [[spoiler:get rid of them with a massive teleportation circle, to plunge them into a volcano]]. Though she felt certain that [[http://www.magickchicks.com/caught-in-the-spell even if it missed somehow]], that there was no way for them to return from -- ''[[UncertainDoom wherever]]'' she's sent them.
* ManipulativeBitch:
** A perfect example [[http://www.magickchicks.com/tuning-up here]], where she uses Skye to make Callista jealous, [[spoiler:so Callista will agree to go clothes shopping with her, [[http://www.magickchicks.com/more-provocative to further her goals]]]].
** And she continues to [[http://www.magickchicks.com/mixed-signals pull on Callista's heartstrings]] to further manipulate her.
** Chapter 14 has her deal with this. [[spoiler:Dying due to her PhlebotinumOverload, her spirit runs into pre-corruption Skye, who happens to be in the same part of the time-space continuum. And power within her turns Cerise into "Mr. Inky," who brings Skye to Hekate and her overloaded-and-dying self. Which Hekate applauds, as it meant Cerise knew when she needed to do to save herself. Skye is willing to do what she needs to save Cerise...and Cerise apologizes for making her cry. Then they kiss...]]
* MeaningfulName:
** One etymology of "Cerise," is "cherry," which is likely a nod to her hair color. However, the word "cherry" is also used as slang for one's virginity, which came into play when it was revealed that Cerise lied about giving hers up.
** Her surname, "Darkshade," was used to set up another reveal when, [[spoiler:her natural hair color turned out to be black]]. Hence, "dark shade".
* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: Noted in the CreateYourOwnVillain entry in Mel's section and the BigBadFriend entry in Cerise's.
* NeverMyFault: [[spoiler:When Melissa tells her parents that Jacqui is dead thanks to Cerise, Cerise is quick to point out all ''she'' did was drop Jacqui into a volcano; the ''magma'' killed Jacqui.]]
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: [[spoiler:Those girls she thought she killed via the transportation circle? They survive because she transported ''the land they were standing on too'', which plugged up the volcano giving them time to get off the mountain unscathed.]]
* OhCrap: While Cerise was surprised to see that [[spoiler:Tiffany and the student council]] had survived her death trap, she was still prepared to fight... until [[spoiler:[[TheDreaded Faith]]]] revealed she was [[RightBehindMe standing right behind her.]] [[http://www.magickchicks.com/i-should-have-known Cerise promptly shits herself.]]
* PhlebotinumOverload: [[spoiler:After Cerise drinks a potion designed to bring a witch to their full potential, she starts getting ripped apart by her own power, since unlike Melissa, the witch the potion was meant for, she didn't have the capacity to handle it. Fortunately for her, something to shunt the excess power into just happens to be brought forth...]]
* PowerIncontinence: [[spoiler:There was a reason that potion wasn't meant for you to swallow yourself, Cerise. Your body couldn't take the power the potion had in it while Melissa's could.]]
* PowerMakeover: Induced with her in Chapter 14.
** PowerDyesYourHair: [[spoiler:After imbibing a potion to bring a witch to their full potential, her hair turns black like it was when she was younger. When she gives up her portion of the power, her hair turns red again until she regains the portion she gave Skye.]]
** DarkIsEvil: [[spoiler:The black energy of the potion spread to the rest of Cerise and altered her voice so that Skye didn't recognize her. She became that mysterious being, "Mr. Inky," that Skye ran into earlier. It also gives her SpikesOfVillainy on her back as well as FemmeFatalons.]]
* ThePowerOfHate: [[spoiler:Her hatred for Melissa is so strong that it is enough to overpower her even with the Wand.]]
* TheResenter: Back when she first met Melissa and Jacqui, she was the most popular girl in their school. But as their figures started developing, Melissa became more popular among the boys, and eventually in general. Jacqui doesn't think Cerise ever forgave Melissa for this, and one upping Mel is a major motivation in her popularity grab.
** Addressed in Chapter 11. Even after Cerise manages to become considered one of the elite and gains, at least currently, immensely more popularity than Melissa, Cerise reacts with a great deal of jealousy towards any attention Melissa does manage to receive. This leads to her going to Forbidden Magicks--and finding Melissa's a lot more than even the Magicks can deal with in battle. Leading to her first defeat--and even MORE attention to Melissa.
** With Chapter 14, it seems to have carried over to the Coven as a whole, as she's shown throwing a picture of the trio on the floor. [[spoiler:Finally fed up with Hekate's favoritism of Melissa over her being the last straw, Cerise foolishly drinks an AmplifierArtifact only to find out her body's unable to handle it. However, someone might have come in to relieve that load before it kills Cerise...]]
* SharedUniverse: She shows up briefly in a ''Webcomic/MenageA3'' ImagineSpot [[http://www.ma3comic.com/she-conspired-with-the-occult where she helped Sandra use magic against Senna]] ([[UnreliableNarrator except not really]]).
* TheStarscream: Plots to overthrow Melissa, who's learned to [[http://www.magickchicks.com/you-had-that-look recognize such moments just by expression]].
** [[LampshadeHanging Lampshaded]] when girls are contacted via dolls somewhat resembling them... and Cerise gets a SuperDeformed Starscream.
** Her attempts to gain popularity haven't been successful when they also aim to overthrow Melissa in the process. (The party she threw for Callie ended up having Savage Skye crash it, and her delving into Forbidden Magicks got bounced back at her literally.)
** [[spoiler:And did we mention she drank a potion Hekate meant for Melissa, and Cerise is close to dying because of it? Or not so close now thanks to Skye...]]
* SocialClimber: From the moment the Hellrune Coven gets transferred to Artemis Academy, she plots ways to overthrow Melissa, by raising to the top of the school's social ladder before Melissa can. Her latest scheme involves pretending to date [[spoiler:Callista]]; thus, using [[spoiler:Callista]]'s popularity to gain recognition for herself. She eventually even goes so far as to [[spoiler:sever Faith's unintentional, popularity-inducing psychic connection to the school to replace it with her own and kill Faith, Melissa and Jacqui as well as the Student Council with a teleportation circle (target destination unknown as of yet) to ensure they can't stop her]].
* SpannerInTheWorks: With the Orb, she threw Melissa into its path. [[spoiler:She later foiled Hekate's plan to corrupt Melissa by swallowing the potion meant for Melissa herself, only seeing it would boost Melissa's power -- but not that Cerise's own body couldn't handle the strain of it.]]
* StandardPowerupPose: Did this after taking the vial, at first...
* SummonMagic: The biggest magic we've seen her use thus far.
** She can summon a bear chimera named Toby with a love for baconator burgers and a giant bee who's stingers are tipped in a paralytic venom.
** Her recent [[http://www.magickchicks.com/luckiest-bitch "Infinipuppy"]] summon [[spoiler:that her new girlfriend, Callie, tipped her into [[FlawExploitation using]]]] brought a lot of [[PreciousPuppy puppies]] to swarm an opponent [[WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes who had that fear.]] So she's able to bring in one very big animal, or [[ZergRush several very small ones]], depending on the situation at one time...though they might linger a bit as the Toby and the bee stayed for a little while instead of one vanishing after the other appeared.
* ThisCannotBe: Cerise thought the Esper Collective had taken care of [[spoiler:[[http://www.magickchicks.com/how-generous the student council]]]]... until the Collective warned her that they could no longer contain [[spoiler:Faith]], because she was overpowering all of them '''COMBINED.'''
-->'''Esper Collective:''' ''[telepathically]'' Cerise... she's... too strong!\
'''Cerise:''' ''[in alarm]'' Impossible! No one's '''[[http://www.magickchicks.com/no-one-is-that-strong THAT STRONG!!]]'''
* ThisIsGonnaSuck: After [[http://www.magickchicks.com/bounce Cerise launches a fireball]] at Melissa, it gets "bounced" back to her thanks to Mel's Wand. And the OhCrap look on her face lets us know that another loophole in her KarmaHoudiniWarranty is about to open up. Last scene has her eyes closed and a flash of light.
** UnsoundEffect: The following [[http://www.magickchicks.com/skiiiiiiid strip]] has her on the ground having plowed a bit of it with a "SKIIIIIIID" as Mel hands Cerise her first loss in Magic Duels.
* ThisIsYourBrainOnEvil / DrunkOnTheDarkSide: [[spoiler:What happened to Cerise after Skye stabilizes her evil from killing her. She's now intent on killing those who can stop her, even her former coven mates and her former girlfriend, Callie.]]
* TheUnfavorite:
** When Mel is "corrupted by the Wand" Cerise is asked to [[http://www.magickchicks.com/not-meant-for-your-world give a potion]] that would amplify a witch's cursed blood to it's fullest potential to Melissa. Hekate had unintentionally led Cerise to believe that [[http://www.magickchicks.com/a-nice-touch she would replace Mel in leading the coven,]] and the potion was instead for HER, not Mel.
** Taken to absurd degrees when Cerise manages to [[spoiler:turn everyone in the school into Hekate's worshipers and reveals that she tried to teleport Mel into a volcano, she STILL isn't made coven leader because Melissa is still alive]].
** Taken to its utmost extreme when Hekate admits that [[spoiler:she wants Melissa to ''kill'' Cerise to break the Wand's influence over her.]]
* UnwittingPawn: [[spoiler:In Hekate's UriahGambit: when Cerise is ''killed'' by Melissa, that would permanently break the Wand's influence over Melissa.]]
* WhatTheHellHero: {{Invoked|Trope}} by Melissa when Cerise lures her and Jacqui into a trap, along with the student council, and the fandom's reaction when [[spoiler:[[http://www.magickchicks.com/girls-who-resisted Cerise outs them as witches.]]]]
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: [[spoiler:Cerise drinks a potion meant to bring a witch up to their full potential. Because she doesn't have the capacity to handle it, she experiences a PhlebotinumOverload, which makes her far more evil than she was before. Even when Skye stabilizes her, Cerise is such that she isn't above killing anyone to get her goals now, especially if they are too far away for anyone else to save them.]]

[[folder:Faith Abbott]]
[[quoteright:175:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/FaithCharPage_7826.jpg]]
Faith is Artemis Academy's morally grey student council president, the school's most popular student, and the most powerful esper in its history! A [[TheHedonist hedonist]], she freely abuses her presidential power to seduce her fellow students and wastes no time in "welcoming" the coven (via [[ComedicUnderwearExposure hazing ritual]]) to Artemis. With formalities out of the way, Faith immediately sets out to bring the one girl she has no hold over under her charms: Tiffany.
-----

* TheAce: Let's just say she's multi-talented and leave it at that, shall we? Or, if you prefer the detailed version, look at half of her character entries. She's a terrible cook though, at least, according to Tiffany.
** BrokenAce: [[spoiler:Once she's made to realize she's been subconsciously using her psychic connection to the school to make everyone around her love her, because deep down [[IJustWantToBeLoved she just wants to be loved.]] [[ThisCannotBe She doesn't]] [[WasItAllALie take it well.]]]]
* AlphaBitch: She's the most powerful esper in the history of the academy, the most popular girl at the school, and the student council president.
** LovableAlphaBitch: Faith is greatly admired by the student body for her leadership ability and her strength. On repeat occasions, she's shown a readiness to come to the aid of others, even at risk to herself. Such as when she [[http://www.magickchicks.com/this-kind-of-power tried to save Melissa]], and showed concern [[http://www.magickchicks.com/sharper-than-a-sanjiegun for Svletvana and Veronique's safety]], though they were enthralled [[spoiler:by Hecate]] and trying to kill her and Tiffany, at the time.
* BirdsOfAFeather: She and her boyfriend, Ash, are so much alike that they're virtually one and the same:
** For starters, they're the alphas at their respective schools. She's a LovableAlphaBitch, while he's a LovableRogue, and both [[AFatherToHisMen look after their fellow students.]] They're also prone to making [[http://www.magickchicks.com/dusky-hot-sister the same]] [[http://www.magickchicks.com/clever-girl mistakes]], since they each rely on [[http://www.magickchicks.com/self-involved reading]] [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/top_of_my_class others]] in order to anticipate their opponents' actions.
** They even share the same open view on dating, to where each knows the other sees other people and they're both okay with it; even while they're banging each other! She and Ash have even fallen in love with the same girl: [[spoiler:Tiffany]]. Which is why Faith [[http://www.magickchicks.com/take-things-slow proposed they form a threesome.]]
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Back when she was trying to dig up information on the Hellrunes, she invited them to a pool party at her house, then carefully [[http://www.magickchicks.com/she-keeps-secrets tried to pry]] [[http://www.magickchicks.com/poor-innocent-brother information out of them.]] But it wound up being a wasted effort since none of them knew anything about [[spoiler:the wand]].
* BroughtDownToNormal:
** Faith was physically weakened and temporarily stripped of her powers by [[spoiler:[[http://www.magickchicks.com/the-motion-carries an indirect attack from Hecate.]]]]
** In a more permanent twist, the story concludes with Faith no longer being [[spoiler:part of the student council]]. She's now an OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent.
* TheCasanova: Except [[GenderInvertedTrope being female]], Faith is a textbook example. She regularly seduces and shags her fellow students, but isn't willing to commit to a steady relationship -- except where her boyfriend and [[spoiler:Tiffany]] are concerned.
* ChickMagnet: See the LustObject and [[ThePornomancer Pornomancer]] entries.
* CoolBigSis: Noted in the LovableAlphaBitch and AFatherToHisMen entries.
* DatingCatwoman: It's well known that she and Ash are dating, despite being from competing schools, since they've been public about their relationship.
* [[DoWithHimAsYouWill Do With Her as You Will]]: Invoked when Faith refrains from dealing with [[spoiler:Cerise]], to let Callista do the honors instead, for toying with her emotions then attempting to kill her.
* TheDreaded: It's a telling sign that [[spoiler:Cerise]] was prepared to take her chances against Tiffany and [[spoiler:the rest of the student council]] once she saw they had survived her death attempt, somehow. But when Faith reveals she's standing directly behind her, [[spoiler:Cerise]] [[OhCrap practically has]] [[http://www.magickchicks.com/i-should-have-known a heart-attack.]]
* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: Not that that's too hard, since almost EveryoneIsBi, but she is particularly popular. In fact, [[spoiler:her power might even be the very reason EveryoneIsBi]].
* EveryManHasHisPrice: Invoked by Tiffany at the end of volume 4, when she gets Faith to go along with Mel's decision to let [[spoiler:Cerise]] off scot-free, with [[AnOfferYouCantRefuse an offer she couldn't refuse]]:
-->'''Tiffany:''' Sigh... Tell you what: be lenient, and I'll talk to Tiffany Winters about giving you a DVD recording of her morning yoga workout. M.M.A.A's honor.\
'''Faith:''' ''[mumbles, [[CrushBlush blushing]]]'' What would I--\
'''Tiffany:''' It's ''[[ConsolationAward nude]]'' yoga.\
'''Faith:''' ''[gives in]'' [[http://www.magickchicks.com/make-up Grrr, cheater.]]
* AFatherToHisMen: As the school's student council president, it's her responsibility to ensure the safety of its students and she takes it to heart. It's been shown on several occasions that [[http://www.magickchicks.com/sharper-than-a-sanjiegun she'll go out of her way]] [[http://www.magickchicks.com/save-artemis to protect them]], even at risk [[HeroicSacrifice to herself]]. This is also seen on a personal level, such as when Sandi recounted the time Faith [[spoiler:took Sandi under her wing and [[http://www.magickchicks.com/she-looks-out-for-us taught her how to control her powers]]]].
* FoeRomanceSubtext: With [[spoiler:Tiffany]], which has segued into WillTheyOrWontThey.
* GoodBadGirl: It was eventually shown that she wasn't as bad as Tiff made her out to be. About the worst that could be said about her, is that [[ReallyGetsAround she freely engaged in casual sex]] with her fellow students.
* GreyAndGrayMorality: This is Faith's defining character trait and the reason for her moral ambiguity in the earlier part of the comic. While she has a sense of right and wrong, she tends to operate in terms of what's right ''[[TheHedonist for her]]'' and what she thinks is best for the school. Needless to say, this outlook [[http://www.magickchicks.com/a-danger-to-melissa doesn't sit well]] [[ChronicHeroSyndrome with Tiffany.]]
* TheHedonist: She's specifically referred to as such on the cast page of the print editions of the comic. Faith has a strong sexual appetite, often abuses her presidential privileges [[http://www.magickchicks.com/enjoying-the-perks to seduce her classmates]], and makes no apologies for it.
* HeroicSacrifice: Faith has done this twice so far:
** The first was when she tried to buy time for Tiffany to get the wand, by [[http://www.magickchicks.com/sharper-than-a-sanjiegun trying to hold off Svletvana and Veronique]], despite having [[BroughtDownToNormal lost her powers]]... [[spoiler:[[http://www.magickchicks.com/a-backup-plan and was beaten unconscious for it.]]]]
** The other occurs in chapter 15, where she [[spoiler:uses the last of her energy to fling Melissa and Sandi free of Cerise's teleportation circle in the hope that they can save Artemis Academy from Cerise.]]
* {{Hypocrite}}: Despite her own promiscuity, she became jealous when she caught [[spoiler:[[http://www.magickchicks.com/take-it-doofus Amelia kissing Tiffany]]]]. Though Faith ''did'' agree to stop seeing other girls if [[spoiler:Tiffany]] asked her to. So far, she hasn't.
* HypocriticalHumor: She mind-sexts [[spoiler:Tiffany]], to tell her that she misses her and is always thinking of her... [[https://pixietrixcomix.com/eerie-cuties/2012-06-27 while she's in bed with another girl.]]
-->'''Other girl:''' Faaaiiith, [[ComeBackToBedHoney come back to bed]]. I'm looooonely!\
'''Faith:''' ''[grins sheepisly]'' C-Catch you later, Sunshine!
* IfItsYouItsOkay: While Faith usually pursues other girls, her relationship with Ash is a one-off attraction, as she regards him as [[http://www.magickchicks.com/official-girlfriend the only male]] worth her attention. A fact [[http://www.magickchicks.com/touch-of-blonde which Ava also noted]] when Melissa asked about him.
* IJustWantToBeLoved: [[spoiler:To the point that she subconsciously mindbent her fellow students into loving her, without realizing it]].
** ILoveYouBecauseICantControlYou: [[spoiler:Which is why she also subconsciously surrounded herself with girls who could resist her influence. Namely: the student council]].
* ITakeOffenseToThatLastOne: Done when the "Mystery Girl" confronts her, [[http://www.magickchicks.com/not-a-person here]].
-->'''Mystery Girl:''' How humiliating this must be for you... Defeated... Outwitted... Impotent!\
'''Faith:''' Hey! Faith Abbott is ''not'' impotent! Ask any of my girlfriends!
* KarmaHoudiniWarranty: [[spoiler:Despite being an AlphaBitch, and an occasional JerkAss, Faith's had a pretty good run. Ironically, [[http://www.magickchicks.com/so-have-i-spoken karma comes a knockin']] right when she seems to try changing for the better.]]
** [[spoiler:She gets a second helping when Cerise reveals that Faith's been subconsciously using her psychic connection to the school [[EvenTheGirlsWantHer to reshape it in her image.]] Then severs Faith's connection, to assert her control over the student body for her own ends.]]
* LadykillerInLove: Between her looks and her seductive charm, Faith can have virtually any girl she wants and has the sexual prowess to prove it. Yet, she's willing to give them up, if [[spoiler:[[http://www.magickchicks.com/official-girlfriend Tiffany]]]] agrees to go steady with her.
* LeftHanging: The series concluded without resolving the romantic subplot between her and [[spoiler:Tiffany]]. They're last seen jogging together... [[MaybeEverAfter and that's it]].
* LipstickLesbian: She habitually flirts and sleeps with other girls and prides herself on her sexual prowess. Further, when it was finally revealed that [[spoiler:her subconscious connection to the school was effecting the student body, it was said she remade it in her image]]. The end result [[http://www.magickchicks.com/dating-games_-_chapter-5 speaks for itself.]]
-->'''Faith:''' ''[defensively, at [[spoiler:fade-out girl]]]'' Hey! Faith Abbot is ''not'' impotent. Ask any of my girlfriends!
* LustObject: The student body at Artemis is eager for the chance to sleep with her and Faith [[ReallyGetsAround is just as eager to please.]] Sandi, in particular, wants her so badly she [[spoiler:[[ItMakesSenseInContext wound up dry humping a tree, thinking it was Faith]]]].
* ManipulativeBitch: She freely abuses her privileges by working within the system and taking advantage of loopholes.
** Such as the time Tiffany caught her stealing the wand and demanded Faith return it to Mel. Faith countered by arguing that the wand [[http://www.magickchicks.com/a-danger-to-melissa could pose a danger to Melissa]] and, possibly, the school itself. Adding that if Tiffany was certain it was safe for Melissa to have, that she could've stopped her [[http://www.magickchicks.com/something-went-wrong when she saw her take it.]]
** There's also the fact that the school's hot springs are usually off limits after hours, though [[http://www.magickchicks.com/enjoying-the-perks the rules make an exception]] for [[StudentCouncilPresident the student council president]], who can use her presidential status to allow her friends in as well. Which is how she arranged for a private spa date with [[spoiler:Tiffany]].
* MeaningfulName: Her surname, "Abbot", derives from the Greek word ''abbas'' and the Aramaic ''abba'', meaning: ''[[http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?search=abbot "the father", or "my father".]]'' Now take another look at the AFatherToHisMen entry, near the top. Fitting, isn't it?
* NotNowKiddo: When Sandi insists that there is something suspicious about all the animals surrounding them, Faith dismisses her concerns. This turns out to be a mistake, [[spoiler:since Cerise and Skye turn out to be using them as {{Mind Control}}ed proxies to kill all of them]].
* NotSoStoic: She's usually collected and confident, but when she tries to interrogate Jacqui, her [[WallOfText incessant babbling]] [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere sent Faith running]] [[http://www.magickchicks.com/poor-innocent-brother for the door.]]
* PassingTheTorch: [[spoiler:To Melissa, who she [[YouAreInCommandNow appoints]] her replacement as student council president.]]
* ThePornomancer: To such an extent, that it's raised questions about the true source of Faith's sex appeal. While she's undeniably attractive ''and seductive'', Tiffany wondered if her powers might be the cause of it, but doubted whether Faith knew the answer herself, and Layla said being near her was like [[http://www.magickchicks.com/sugar-buzz "a sugar buzz."]] Even her enemies and [[EvenTheGirlsWantHer the handful of girls who claim to be straight lust after her]] (see TheReveal).
* PreSacrificeFinalGoodbye: Invoked near the end of chapter 15, when Faith elects to save Sandi, since she couldn't save the entire student council. She only had time enough [[http://www.magickchicks.com/the-other-half for a few parting words]] before being mass teleported to their UncertainDoom. Though it was ultimately {{subverted|Trope}}, since they survived due to [[DidntThinkThisThrough an oversight]] on [[spoiler:[[EvilRedhead Cerise]]]]'s part.
* PsychicPowers: She's the most powerful esper in Artemis Academy's history and [[SuperpowerLottery has more abilities than anyone can keep track of.]] As follows:
** AstralProjection: She's demonstrated the ability to project her consciousness outside of her body. Such as [[http://www.magickchicks.com/this-kind-of-power when she tried to help Melissa]], while she was unconscious due to the wand's power raging out of control. And again, when [[spoiler:the wand's spirit [[http://www.magickchicks.com/not-a-person unexpectedly appeared in her subconsciousness]]]].
** AuraVision: Faith also has the ability to sense and read auras, which was seen when she read [[spoiler:Dark]] Skye's aura and noted [[http://www.magickchicks.com/in-rags it was "practically growling"]], and Callista's aura, which [[http://www.magickchicks.com/killing-intent she sensed lacked killing intent.]]
** FlashStep: [[WordOfGod According to DaveZero1]], her psychic powers are what enable her to move at such exceptional speed. Her opponents have lost sight of her, even when they're looking ''[[http://www.magickchicks.com/spoiler-alert! right]]'' '''[[http://www.magickchicks.com/good-sports AT]]''' her!
** SuperSenses: In addition, her extrasensory perception is impressive to say that her powers are still developing. Her senses are so sharp that she nearly saw through [[spoiler:Cerise's amnesia spell]] and [[http://www.magickchicks.com/curious-forest-critters could tell something was missing.]]
*** SensoryOverload: However, this particular ability also acts as a double-edged sword. Such as when she was psychically assaulted by an indirect attack from [[spoiler:Hecate]], which hadn't been intended ''for her''. Regardless, she not only sensed it, it caused her to have seizures and briefly blackout. When she regained consciousness, she'd been left physically weakened and [[BroughtDownToNormal temporarily without her powers.]] She noted that, while she didn't know who'd been behind it, that [[http://www.magickchicks.com/the-motion-carries their power was ancient, dark, and powerful.]]
** MindOverMatter: As an esper, she possesses the ability to move people and objects with her mind. She once used her TK to fling [[spoiler:[[WebComic/EerieCuties Layla]]]] across the room and [[http://www.magickchicks.com/like-an-amateur psychically restrained her.]] And also used her power to save Callista's life, [[http://www.magickchicks.com/only-playing by stopping a pack of wolves in their tracks]] when [[spoiler:Dark Skye]] [[MurderTheHypotenuse tried to have her killed.]]
** {{Telepathy}}: Likewise, she can communicate telepathically, which she uses for [[http://www.magickchicks.com/they-got-away relaying orders]] [[http://www.magickchicks.com/make-a-break to the student council]], or for mind-sexting [[spoiler:[[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/it_is_for_realsies Tiffany]]]].
** YourMindMakesItReal: This is the last and least explored of Faith's ''known'' abilities, which she seems to reserve for [[spoiler:telepathically making love with her boyfriend, Ash]]. While she enjoys the kink, she's admitted that it isn't as good as [[spoiler:[[http://www.magickchicks.com/stop-teasing doing it for real]]]].
* ReallyGetsAround: For which, she makes no apology. Faith has a raging libido, prides herself on her sexual prowess, and is well-known for seducing her fellow students; many of whom, [[ThePornomancer are eager to be next in line]].
-->'''Faith:''' ''[defensively]'' Don't slut-shame me, Tiff. I won't apologize for liking sex.
* TheReveal: After much speculation about her charm over the student body, [[spoiler:Cerise eventually revealed Faith's subconscious desire to be loved had caused her powers to sync with the school, without Faith being aware of it]]. Which even caused her enemies to lust for her. Faced with the truth and the implications that came with it, [[ThisCannotBe Faith didn't take it well.]]
* RescueRomance: Faith's infatuation with [[spoiler:Tiffany]] became genuine affection, after the incident with [[spoiler:[[Characters/CharybdisAcademy Layla]]]]. She's been courting her ever since, starting with treating her to a day at the spa, and has said [[http://www.magickchicks.com/take-things-slow she'd give up other girls for her]].
* SmoochOfVictory: {{Subverted|Trope}}, since Melissa was the one responsible for saving them. However, it wasn't for a lack of trying on Faith's part[[note]]Faith was physically weakened and had lost her powers at the time[[/note]]. So when she asked if she'd get a kiss for her heroism, [[spoiler:Tiff]] figured, [[http://www.magickchicks.com/hero-get-a-kiss 'sure, why not?']]
* SmugSuper: She's extraordinarily gifted, and BOY does she KNOW it.
** BullyingADragon: She's dangerously overconfident. After mentally subduing [[Webcomic/EerieCuties Layla]], she decides to draw out her bloodlust, and tries to take her on without her powers!
** To Faith's credit, she wasn't doing half bad, 'til she got full of herself and forgot they were fighting indoors. [[http://www.magickchicks.com/your-guard-is-down Whoops.]]
** [[spoiler:Thankfully, Tiffany was around to put a stop to it, by allowing Layla to feed on her.]]
* StudentCouncilPresident: Faith is introduced as the head of Artemis Academy's [[AbsurdlyPowerfulStudentCouncil student council]] and as the head of the school's security. [[spoiler:[[PassingTheTorch She appoints Melissa as her replacement]], [[http://www.magickchicks.com/make-a-break at the end of chapter 15]].]]
* StupidSexyFlanders: Tiffany spends much of the series struggling to accept that she's become attracted to Faith. But, by vol.3, she's literally begun to question her own sexuality because of it.
* SuperPowerLottery: Faith has numerous abilities in addition to her psychic powers, [[http://www.magickchicks.com/eat-you-up which Tiffany notes here]], and is so overpowered that [[http://www.magickchicks.com/enjoying-the-perks Tiffany suspects]] Faith may not be fully aware whether she's using her powers subconciously or not.
* TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou: Again, to Ash. Cast page calls him the Alpha at Apollo Academy.
* ThisCannotBe: This aptly sums up her reaction to the possibility that [[spoiler:her popularity was due to subconsciously syncing with the school and [[http://www.magickchicks.com/even-her-enemies mindbending the student body into loving her.]]]] [[BrokenAce Ouch.]]
* ThreesomeSubtext: Even if she succeeds in hooking up with [[spoiler:Tiffany]], Faith made it clear that she won't break up with her boyfriend, Ash, and proposed [[OneTrueThreesome a OT3]] instead.
* WillTheyOrWontThey: [[spoiler:That mainly depends on whether or not Tiffany decides to accept her offer. See the UnresolvedSexualTension entry in Tiffany's section below.]]

[[folder:Tiffany Winters]]
[[quoteright:175:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Tiffany_7164.jpg]]
Like the Hellrune coven, sixteen year-old ''would-be'' vampire hunter Tiffany Winters originated in ''Webcomic/EerieCuties'' where she spent most of her time trying (and failing) to hunt Layla Delacroix. Oddly enough, Layla also happens to be her best friend. Even stranger is the fact that, despite being an [[FantasticRacism over-zealous]] monster hunter, Tiffany turns out to be the closest thing the Hellrune Coven has to a friend at Artemis Academy. Mainly because she doesn't know that they're witches.
-----

* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: Would have staked Layla by now, but keeps getting interrupted by how well [[FriendlyEnemy they get along]].
* BadLiar: C'mon, Tiff, everbody's seen through the [[http://www.magickchicks.com/99lbs MMAA gig]] by now. Not to mention the status of your sex life.
* BarbieDollAnatomy: In her ghost form.
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler:Shows up to save Melissa right as Cerise is about to kill her, and does it by doing something many fans have wished they could do to Cerise for a while: uppercuts her so hard it sends her at least three feet into the air.]]
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: She's clearly human, but her daily morning routines involves [[http://www.magickchicks.com/this-abomination hopping rooftops,]] [[http://www.magickchicks.com/that-justice-bug countless sit-ups and single-hand standing push-ups.]] Demonstrated in a combat situation when she [[spoiler:[[http://www.magickchicks.com/our-little-game uppercuts Cerise so hard she flies at least three feet into the air.]]]]
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Despite her [[FantasticRacism ideas about staking vampires and "exterminating" witches]] ForGreatJustice, she managed to befriend both. What she does eagerly is helping people. Including pulling two of the vampires out of serious troubles. [[http://www.magickchicks.com/what-friends-do That's what friends do!]]
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Make no mistake, the girl's a goofball, like the time she thought she was a vampire ([[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/cross-shaped_mirror when she clearly wasn't]]), or when she's [[FailedDramaticExit bungling her exits.]] She also seems to think her secret identity is safe, [[http://www.magickchicks.com/99lbs even when she's confronted with it.]]
* DistractedByTheSexy: [[spoiler:Faith]] does this to her in the most literal sense, by "[[https://pixietrixcomix.com/eerie-cuties/2012-06-27 mind-sexting]]" her, just as she was about to stake Layla; causing her to lose focus again.
** Then she forgets about staking altogether when Layla flashes a pic of Dio. Instead, Tiff pants like a lovesick puppy and forgets he's a vampire too.
** Tiffany falls into a semi-coherent daze upon seeing [[spoiler:Ash and Dio]] making out.
--->'''Layla:''' What do we do?!\
'''Tiffany:''' What? Yeah... they sure do...
* EnemyMine:
** For Layla, mixed with massive HoYay, to the point where the distinction is completely obliterated.
** Though at the Chinese Restaurant, she [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/i_am_your_best_friend admits]] that Layla's her best friend after Layla does the same:
--->'''Layla:''' ''[thinking]'' Oh, Great! I'm best friends with food!\
'''Tiffany:''' ''[thinking]'' Now I have to stake my best friend! I'm such a tragic heroine!
* EverybodyKnewAlready: Everybody knows that Tiffany is the Mysterious Masked Academy Avenger and have even told her to her face, but she [[BadLiar flat out denies it]] and [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} still seems to think her secret is safe]].
* {{Expy}}: It's very clear [[Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer who]] she wants to be. Just look at her name.
* FailedDramaticExit: As seen in the SmokeOut example, and again, [[http://www.magickchicks.com/feat-of-derring-do here.]] It's one of the main reasons no one's fooled by her MMAA disguise.
* FantasticRacism: Initially, the Hellrunes' collective geese would've been cooked [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/school_of_monstery_monsters had Tiffany known they were witches.]] Thankfully, by the time she finally found out, she had come think of Melissa as a friend and came to her defense [[http://www.magickchicks.com/cut-their-heads-off against the student council.]]
* FirstKiss: As fate would have it, she gave hers to [[spoiler:Faith]] (noted in the SmoochOfVictory entry in her section).
* FoeRomanceSubtext: Played straight between her and Faith, which is covered in the IfItsYouItsOkay, UnresolvedSexualTension, and WillTheyOrWontThey entries further down.
* TheFool: Has her head firmly [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} in the clouds]], but also heart in the right place and weird luck, so she's good at blundering into some messed up situation and making it somewhat less messed up.
* ForGreatJustice: Her reason for taking up the MMAA persona is to fight the social injustices at Artemis... and Faith's occasional abuses of power.
* FriendlyEnemy: Tiffany really really means to be hunting Layla, but...well, see AttentionDeficitOohShiny above. Layla is oblivious to this and only knows Tiffany as a friend.
** Gets taken to the extreme in the ''Webcomic/MagickChicks'' crossover, where she pulls a BigDamnHeroes by saving Faith from a bloodlusted Layla. At the same time, she couldn't bring herself to stake Layla either. So she [[TakesAThirdOption took a third option]] by [[spoiler:allowing Layla to [[http://www.magickchicks.com/a-superhero feed on her to calm her down]] and talking to her soothingly]].
** Their cameo in ''Webcomic/VampireCheerleaders'' shows them hanging out together, over a game of ''VideoGame/RockBand''.
** And now they're officially best friends because... well... [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/i_am_your_best_friend they've both said so!]]
* GeniusDitz: Yes, she's [[AttentionDeficitOohShiny easily distracted]] and isn't always grounded in reality, but she's hardly dumb. For starters, [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/smash_it! she knows her monster lore]], and has shown the ability to plan well in advance; including [[http://www.magickchicks.com/smoked-salmon disguising herself]] to go undercover at Faith's pool party to swipe the wand. Then hid it in the one place she knew Faith wouldn't bother to check: [[spoiler:her own locker!]]
* HunterOfMonsters: Comes from a family of monster hunters, and is still dedicated to staking Layla even after befriending her. Fortunately, she's [[AttentionDeficitOohShiny easily distracted]].
* IdiotHero: See the SmokeOut example below.
* IfItsYouItsOkay: Tiffany [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/i_need_a_date considers herself straight]] as evidenced by the number of times she's instantly become smitten with cute guys (including Dio, [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/curse_you_hormones who's a vampire]]). She's even [[http://www.magickchicks.com/when-there-are-more-boys-around systematically ruled out the possibility]] of being attracted to other girls, in general... except one:
-->'''Creator/TCampbell:''' For instance, there were some debates about Tiff's sexuality, and for awhile the committee resolved that she was straight and knew it without a doubt, putting Faith in the unusual-for-her position of courting someone who would never, ''could never'', return her affections. [[http://www.pixietrixcomix.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=492131#p492131 We changed our tune on this somewhat]], though I think the evidence Tiff is attracted to guys is fairly conclusive.
* IrislessEyemaskOfMystery: Tiffany's mask typically has the effect of whiting out her irises whenever she wears it, as [[PaperThinDisguise her MMAA disguise]] (which makes her look similar to ''Webcomic/{{Spinnerette}}'') The mask itself is [[ExpressiveMask still expressive]], which is [[http://www.magickchicks.com/omigawd best seen here]], though there was [[http://www.magickchicks.com/a-superhero one occasion]] where her irises were visible while wearing it.
* LargeHam:
** Oh so much.
--->'''Tiffany:''' ''[thinking]'' At last! Fate has delivered my worst enemy into my hands! '''VENGEANCE SHALL BE MINE!!!''' Wait... not "vengeance". What's the one heroes get? Oh right. '''JUSTICE SHALL BE DONE!!!'''
** Also this gem, concerning her big showdown with Layla.
--->'''Tiffany:''' ''[envisions herself battling Layla]'' It shall be so epic, it would fill up 4 volumes of a manga!!
* LeftHanging: Noted in the related entry in Faith's section.
* LeParkour: She knows how to move on top of roofs and is getting Mel to do the same thing (though in Mel's case the Wand "helps").
* MyKungFuIsStrongerThanYours: Tiffany subtly implies this when Mel threatens to [[http://www.magickchicks.com/forget-this-day "kung fu her ass"]] if she catches Tiffany near her window again.
* ObliviousToHints: {{Cloudcuckoolander}} that she is, she fails to notice that Mel is ''not'' interested in training with her and is only participating because the Wand is forcing her to, no matter how blatantly she hints. She fails to even notice Mel is asleep half the time and only realizes Mel is upset when she puts her hand on her face.
* OccidentalOtaku: She compares what she thinks her and Layla's battle to be like to taking up 4 volumes of a manga, and gets really excited by Melissa being a real-life MagicalGirl. And later seems to be a YaoiFangirl.
* PaperThinDisguise: Her MMAA "disguise" consists of a small mask covering her eyes. And "...[[BadLiar also, it wasn't me!]]"
* SelectiveObliviousness: She blatantly chooses to ignore that Mel is being magically compelled to work out with her by the Wand.
* SittingOnTheRoof: Some of Tiffany's habits are unusual to begin with, but this seems to have become her way of [[http://www.magickchicks.com/holy-moley greeting Melissa]] in the morning. Though one has to wonder, [[http://www.magickchicks.com/muscle-witch_-_chapter-8 how she does it?]]
* SmokeOut: She thinks she's the local superhero and does this to disguise her identity. [[http://www.magickchicks.com/i-am-okay! She's very, very bad at it.]]
* SpannerInTheWorks: Cerise was expecting her to be in school, rather than following Melissa. As a result, [[spoiler:she doesn't apply the same amnesia she inflicted on her former coven mates and the Student Council. As soon as she mentions Cerise, everyone else remembers her too, pushing Cerise into enacting her plan a bit earlier than anticipated]].
* StunnedSilence: After finding out Faith was kidding about skinny-dipping, Tiffany remembers she has a mask on, and enters the water, shocking everyone else into this. (Mel is quick enough to not let Tiffany borrow her swimsuit, though.)
* ShipTease: '''LOADS''' [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/limited-edition with]] [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/you_like_them_too%EF%BC%9F Layla]], and quite a bit with [[spoiler:Faith]] as well.
* {{Squee}}:
** Her reaction to Layla inviting her to go to a concert with her.
--->'''Tiffany:''' ''[[[ShipTease hugs Layla]]]'' I FREAKIN' LOVE YOU!
** She also does it when [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/feeling_froggy_are_we Melissa]] [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/not_his_beautiful_face does a]] MagicalGirl transformation.
* ThirdPersonPerson: When she's in Slayer Mode.
* TookALevelInBadass: Seen during the climax of the ''"Kids Slay the Darndest Things"'' bonus story, when Tiff [[spoiler:successfully slays her first monster]] to save the Mel twins.
* UnknownRival: At first. Layla ''still'' doesn't know about the "rival" part.
* UnresolvedSexualTension: Between her and Faith, who has [[http://www.magickchicks.com/official-girlfriend repeatedly made]] [[http://www.magickchicks.com/enjoying-the-perks her feelings clear]] on the matter, while Tiff shows signs of [[http://www.magickchicks.com/omigawd possibly reciprocating.]] [[http://www.magickchicks.com/forces-of-darkness Maybe.]]
* VictoriasSecretCompartment: It's where she [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/not-his-beautiful-face keeps her MMAA mask.]] Mel in her MagicalGirl outfit quickly grabs the mask from there when she's at the Chinese Restaurant.
* WeakWilled: [[spoiler:When Dakota, Melissa's supposed father uses ''her'' {{Glamour}} artifact to make Tiffany think she is actually a handsome man, the effect goes far beyond what it did to Ace and outright scrambles her brain.]]

[[folder:Sandi Mnemonic]]
[[quoteright:175:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Sandi_8307.jpg]]
Faith's secretary and the student council's intel expert. She nurses an unrequited crush on Faith, despite being well-aware that Faith sleeps around and also has a boyfriend. Despite this, Sandi remains adamantly loyal to her and does her utmost to serve her needs. Much later, she sparks an accidental friendship with Jacqui, even though Sandi isn't fond of her. Except Jacqui fails to take the hint.
-----
* AllLoveIsUnrequited: Sandi ticks all the boxes, let us count the ways:
** HopelessSuitor: She's deeply in love with Faith, but the feeling isn't mutual. Faith only thinks of her [[JustFriends as her friend]]/secretary.
** IgnoredEnamoredUnderling: The problem hasn't been getting Faith to notice how she feels, it's the fact that she's been 'friend-zoned' on top of all the competition standing in the way. See the next entry.
** SleepsWithEveryoneButYou: Probably the most heartbreaking part is knowing Faith [[ReallyGetsAround is banging half the girls at their school]], except her. [[http://www.magickchicks.com/stop-teasing Plus her boyfriend, Ash]], and ''now'' she's in love with [[spoiler:Tiffany]].
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: Her undying love and loyalty to Faith comes from their childhood. [[spoiler:As a kid Sandi's mental powers were out of control and she spoke in random trivia. Faith took her under her wing and after a great deal of time and help Sandi was finally able to get herself under control by imagining her mind as a computer and filing everything away in it's appropriate spot. Her devotion continues to this day.]]
* BerserkButton: Never question Faith's loyalty, or her integrity, in front of Sandi. She won't stand for it, even as a joke, as Jacqui learned the hard way.
* ButtMonkey: Sandi has found herself in embarrassing situations more than once -- from getting slammed by the door at Callista's party, to [[spoiler:dryhumping a tree she thought was Faith]] as a result of one of Jacqui's glamour spells.
* TheDoorSlamsYou: Mentioned in the previous entry, which can be seen, [[http://www.magickchicks.com/bam here.]]
* DudeNotFunny: She delivers a slap to Jacqui, when she offhandedly jokes about Faith [[spoiler:[[http://www.magickchicks.com/beyond-reproach sleeping with the enemy]]]], on top of implying she was a traitor. Though Sandi apologizes afterward.
* {{Expy}}: She bares a strong resemblance to [[WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooMysteryIncorporated Velma Dinkley]], both in appearance and because she's [[TheSmartGuy the smart girl]] of the group.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: Parodied when a group animals gather around her, despite her attempts to scare them off. Which is further spoofed when the birds and squirrels perch on her head and shoulders, in time for Jacqui to [[http://www.magickchicks.com/all-they-do-is-stare get a picture of it!]]
** CassandraTruth: She had a feeling the animals were evil, and she's proven right when they [[spoiler:collect materials for and prepare a massive teleportation circle to kill the entire student council as well as Cerise's former coven mates (as the animals were really mind-controlled by Evil Skye)]].
* GreenEyedMonster: Exhibited passively toward anyone who garners Faith's affections, namely: [[http://www.magickchicks.com/they-got-away Ash]] and [[spoiler:[[http://www.magickchicks.com/clandestine-meeting Tiffany]]]].
* MeaningfulName: A "mnemonic" (also called a "mnemonic device") is a learning technique aimed at translating information into a form that the human brain can remember better than its original form, and Sandi Mnemonic practically has as much intel as the AkashicRecords. This becomes more meaningful when we learn that [[spoiler:her powers used to be out of control, and Faith had to help her file the information in her mind by having Sandi imagine that her mind was a computer, and all of the intel as files to be stored in their proper place; a mnemonic in its own right]].
* SingleTargetSexuality: Sandi [[http://www.magickchicks.com/a-secret only has eyes]] [[http://www.magickchicks.com/stinkweed for Faith]] and wants nothing more than the chance to ROCK. HER. '''[[DidTheEarthMoveForYouToo WORLD.]]''' Which was made explicit when she [[spoiler wound up dry humping a tree]], due to Jacqui's glamour spell casting an illusion of her heart's desire: which was [[spoiler:the sight of Faith naked and offering to "reward" her]].
* TheSmartGuy: She's described as "a living Website/{{Google}}" on the cast page of the print edition and is really good with data. So much so, that Faith is genuinely curious whenever she can't find information on any given subject.
* {{Technopath}}: It's been shown multiple times that [[http://www.magickchicks.com/where-is-musical-starlight Sandi had technopathic powers]], particularly of the "mental interface" (used [[http://www.magickchicks.com/slipped-past-our-defenses for analysis]], or to find information on the subject at hand) and super smarts variety.
* TheUnfavorite: According to the comic's editor, Sandi is [[http://www.magickchicks.com/en-garde! none too popular with the other students]] though her close association with Faith helps to offset some of the negativity. For awhile, her only other friend seemed to be Callista, but recent chapters have hinted at the possibility of an unlikely friendship forming [[http://www.magickchicks.com/prime-suspect between her and Jacqui.]]
* ThisCannotBe: When it looks like Faith is the "traitor" Sandy is horrified.

[[folder:Ash]]
[[quoteright:175:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/AshCharPage_6764.jpg]]
Ash is the ace of Apollo Academy and Faith's more or less boyfriend. Not much is known about Ash at this point beyond the fact that he works (and apparently lives) at a Chinese restaurant, is skilled enough to fight Faith on even ground, take on multiple lesser opponents at once, and is seemingly adored by the girls of Artemis as much as Faith herself.
-----

* TheAce: For Apollo Academy.
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: So [[http://www.magickchicks.com/dusky-hot-sister very]], [[http://www.magickchicks.com/you-have-improved very]] much, that it's no surprise that it's bitten him in the ass more than once. Still, it must be said that his smug self-confidence isn't entirely unwarranted, since he fights well enough to rival [[SmugSuper Faith!]]
** BullyingADragon: So yeah... Ash picks a fight with a girl he's just met and [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/top_of_my_class basically got schooled]], even though he ''knew'' [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/then_do_something_about_it she was holding back on him.]] So he decides to push his luck by deliberately provoking her so she'll go all out on him. Said girl just happened to be [[Webcomic/EerieCuties Brooke]], who happens to be a Melusine. [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/do_you_feel_him_breathing Bad. Move.]]
* BirdsOfAFeather: See the related entry in Faith's section.
* ChickMagnet: Enough that he's charmed the panties off Faith, who's a known lesbian, and has [[http://www.magickchicks.com/stop-teasing even banged her in the park.]] Plus, [[spoiler:Doompantied]] Chloe, Cess, and Laura were [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/door-to-door_girls drawn to his virility]] and made out with him [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/not_lucky_at_all for over an hour.]]
* CombatPragmatist: Ash may be a gentleman, but he'll do what it takes to win a fight; including [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/pretty_faces_are_people_too biting his opponent]] and he [[WouldHitAGirl isn't above striking a female]] either. Provided it's Faith, since he knows she can take it, and [[spoiler:Brooke]] since she almost killed him.
* DatingCatwoman: It's no secret that he and Faith are seeing each other, despite the competition between their two schools. [[http://www.magickchicks.com/cheatin-powers They've even made out]], in plain sight of her fellow students, and have slept together more than once.
%%zce* EveryoneHasStandards: See the WouldHitAGirl entry at the bottom.
* {{Expy}}: Of Manga/{{Ranma|OneHalf}}. Just picture him about a year older and with a soul patch.
* AFatherToHisMen: Seen, during the breastplate raid on Artemis, where he saved several of his fellow students. Then [[http://www.magickchicks.com/you-should-know-better acted as a decoy]] to cover their escape.
* LovableRogue: Despite being from the competing school and leading breastplate raids into Artemis, he's roguishly handsome and charming enough that he's popular with the students there. It also helps that he's skilled enough to trade witty repartee and challenge Faith, herself, whom he happens to be dating, as ''even she'' can't resist his charms.
* MrFanservice: As mentioned in the previous entry, he's a charmer with looks to match. But, when he took off his shirt during his match with Faith, [[http://www.magickchicks.com/you-have-improved the girls practically fangasm'd.]]
* TemptingFate: As seen in the BullyingADragon entry.
* TestosteronePoisoning: During his second cameo in ''Eerie Cuties'', he endured having his energy drained by a [[spoiler:[[SuperPoweredEvilSide Doompantied Chloe]], Cess, and Laura]] for over 1½ hours. When he finally ran off to meet up his sparring partner, they were left utterly amazed that he was uneffected. Did we mention that he was identified as a prime target because of how far they were from him when they first detected his testosterone levels?
-->'''[[spoiler:Chloe]]:''' This is...'''impossible!''' You should be starved of energy by now!\
'''Ash:''' I ''am'' starved! But nothing a half-dozen angus burgers on the way can't fix!
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Except for when he's at work, otherwise, he usually goes without.
* WouldHitAGirl: With exception, that is. Ash will only fight Faith because he knows she can take it. More importantly, he knows he can't afford to pull his punches with her if she decides to get serious, considering she's [[SuperPowerLottery an abnormally powerful]] [[PsychicPowers high-level esper]]. Likewise, he only began to fight [[spoiler:Brooke]] seriously, once he realized [[BullyingADragon what he'd gotten himself into]].

[[folder:Callista "Deadeye" Archer]]
[[quoteright:175:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Callista_4368.jpg]]
The last member of Faith's trio is her best friend, Callista, who's the captain of the school's Archery Club and serves as Faith's lieutenant. As such, she enjoys a fair amount of popularity of her own, due to her "dead aim". She initially appears confident and focused, but is actually rather shy. At least, when it comes to matters of love.
-----

* BadassAdorable: Despite initial impressions, she turns out to be rather shy. At least when it comes to romance. First seen when [[spoiler:Cerise]] pretends to have taken an interest in her; complete with [[http://www.magickchicks.com/a-good-second-banana blushing, stammering, and even calling herself plain.]] Confirmed, as seen by her reaction to finally hooking up with [[spoiler:Cerise]].
-->'''Calissta:''' J-Just like that?\
'''[[spoiler:Cerise]]:''' Un-huh!\
'''Callista:''' S-So you're my girfriend now?\
'''[[spoiler:Cerise]]:''' ''[nods, smiling]''\
'''Callista:''' Wow! I... I have a girlfriend! [[http://www.magickchicks.com/just-like-that ...I have no idea what to do with a girlfriend.]]
* DeathGlare: She glares daggers at Skye when Cerise tells Skye that she looks adorable--and can't decide which girl's looks she likes better. Then Callie steps up with a DeterminedExpression, making Cerise swoon.
* GirlsLoveStuffedAnimals: During her date at the carnival, we saw her with a giant elephant plushie that she had won as a prize.
* GogglesDoSomethingUnusual: Her visor not only appears to help with her aim, it even has [[http://www.magickchicks.com/now-is-for-running an infrared setting.]]
* HeartbrokenBadass: This was inevitable, given [[spoiler:[[EvilRedhead Cerise]]]] was only using her. When she finally learns the truth and hears that [[spoiler:Cerise]] was not only dumping her, but also [[spoiler:intended to kill her along with the rest of the student council]], she [[WasItAllALie breaks down in tears]], [[http://www.magickchicks.com/the-other-half prompting Gabrielle to console her.]]
* HeroicBSOD: Take a look at her her expression and her response, in [[http://www.magickchicks.com/cut-their-heads-off the first panel here.]]
* ImprobableAimingSkills: She has the distinction of being both the best archer at the school and captain of the Archery Club for a reason. Her aim is so scarily accurate, that she was able to fire three arrows at once (from the rafters) and perfectly hit the Hellrunes belt buckles. But that's not all:
-->'''Callista:''' ''[proudly]'' I even took care of that nasty spider that was crawling up the redhead's skirt.\
'''Jacqui:''' ''[in utter amazement]'' Wow! That's impressive!\
'''Melissa:''' ''[irately]'' Jacqui!\
'''Jacqui:''' ''[still impressed]'' [[http://www.magickchicks.com/deadeye Well, IT IS!!]]
* LettingHerHairDown: When we were first introduced to her character, she wore her hair in [[TomboyishPonytail a ponytail]], but while she and [[spoiler:Cerise]] were dating, she convinced Callista to change her hair as part of her scheme to reshape Callista's image. Now, she wears it long and has bleached the fringe covering her forehead.
* MasterArcher: She is nicknamed "Deadeye" for a reason -- she's an excellent shot with a bow and arrow.
* MeaningfulName: Callista Archer, get it?
* {{Multishot}}: The comic introduces her, by having her perform one from the rafters (seen in the ImprobableAimingSkills entry).
* NiceGirl: She's one of the nicest members of the cast and a bit shy.
* NumberTwo: To Faith. The cast page of the print edition says Callista is her trusted lieutenant.
* OnewayVisor: It's standard part of her attire, which she apparently wears constantly. When Cerise lifts it from Callista's face, it reveals a faint tanline in the shape of her visor.
* RedBaron: She's called "Deadeye" Archer for a reason, noted under ImprobableAimingSkills.
* TheStraightAndArrowPath: {{Justified|Trope}}, since she's the captain of Artemis Academy's Archery Club. As such, she's the best shot at the school and [[http://www.magickchicks.com/confusing-my-hormones she's got the trophies to prove it.]]
* {{Tomboy}}: It was first noted [[http://www.magickchicks.com/confusing-my-hormones here, by Cerise.]] She's seen wearing [[http://www.magickchicks.com/smell-that-fresh-air army fatigues]], during the camping trip, and even the bikini she wore when they went swimming had [[http://www.magickchicks.com/not-weird a matching camouflage pattern.]]
* UnwittingPawn: [[spoiler:[[http://www.magickchicks.com/tuning-up To Cerise.]] Poor Callie.]]
* WasItAllALie: See the HeartbrokenBadass and HeroicBSOD entries.
** WomanScorned: Let's see: she was lied to, used, then dumped, and would've been killed had it not been for unforeseen circumstances. Now she's back and face-to-face with the "witch [[http://www.magickchicks.com/ya-done-goofed who toyed with her emotions.]] But she's denied the opportunity, when Cerise uses the Esper Collective to mentally incapacitate her, [[TheWorfEffect along with the rest of the student council.]]
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: Up until the teleportation incident, [[spoiler:Cerise]] had been pretending to date Callista, using her status as [[NumberTwo Faith's right-hand]] in order [[SocialClimber to elevate her own standing on the school's social ladder.]] But once she devised the plan to take over the school itself, her first order of business was to [[spoiler:get rid of [[AbsurdlyPowerfulStudentCouncil the student council]]]]... including Callista.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Tandy]]
The captain of the school's Ninja Club and a member of the student council. Best described as "tsundere", she rarely says a word more than she has to, and doesn't seem to make friends easily. However, once anyone earns her respect, she opens up a bit, revealing her somewhat softer side -- with Gabrielle and Amelia being her closest friends.
-----

* AffectionateNickname: By way of FreudianSlip, when she referred to Gabrielle as, "Gabby," out of concern for her.
* AloofDarkhairedGirl: She appears to be emotionally distant and has few friends.
* BodyguardBabes: Self-appointed, in order to protect Mel, after she's [[spoiler:appointed as the new student council president, by Faith]].
** BodyguardingABadass: Not that Mel necessarily ''needs'' protecting, which she demonstrates by [[spoiler:smacking Tandy hard enough to crack the tile of her bathroom wall and leave her with a mild concussion]].
* CeilingCling: ComicBook/{{Spider|Man}}-[[http://www.magickchicks.com/friendship-blast who?]]
* {{Expy}}: Of [[VisualNovel/FateStayNight Rin Tohsaka]], from the meg-twin tails to her {{Tsundere}} attitude -- she's even a Class S ZettaiRyouiki.
* GetAholdOfYourselfMan: She delivers one to Melissa, when she starts complaining about [[ItsAllAboutMe her life]] falling apart, even though [[spoiler:the school's been taken over, by Cerise, and the rest of student council are [[UncertainDoom believed to be dead]]]]. Then gives her [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech a harsh reminder]] that she isn't the only one who's been affected by [[spoiler:Cerise]]'s actions.
* {{Ninja}}: A given, since she's the captain of the school's Ninja Club, which isn't in name only. They're the real deal. Tandy has [[http://www.magickchicks.com/lighting-up the type of agility]] one would expect and can appear suddenly, [[http://www.magickchicks.com/darkest-secrets seemingly from thin air.]] Speaking of the Ninja Club, they've been acting as [[LaResistance a resistance group]] to undermine [[spoiler:Cerise]]'s authority in Tandy's absence, and have even managed to [[spoiler:[[http://www.magickchicks.com/location-unknown capture Skye]]]] and replaced her with [[spoiler:Rain]], without arousing [[spoiler:Cerise]]'s suspicion. Impressive for a group of high school girls.
* NonSequiturThud: Tandy, during the following exchange, while Melissa helps steady her on her feet after [[spoiler:giving Tandy a mild concussion]].
-->'''Melissa:''' ''[concerned]'' Uh... are you okay?\
'''Tandy:''' ''[[[WingdingEyes out of of it]]]'' S'nuffin... juss a concussion.\
'''Melissa:''' ''[alarmed]'' Concussion?! But... how are you supposed to protect me?\

'''Melissa:''' But--!\
'''Tandy:''' ''[irately, making dismissive hand gesture]'' I said I was fine, Susan!
* PerpetualFrowner: Tandy's default expression. Or, she simply effects [[TheStoic a look of indifference.]]
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Directed toward Mel, in chapter 16, once she gets fed up with her moping and complaining, as though she was the only one effected by [[spoiler:the teleportation incident]].
-->'''Tandy: (at Mel)''' "You think [[ItsAllAboutMe you're the only one whose life got ruined that day?]] [[spoiler:Gaby and Amelia are '''DEAD!''' Faith is '''DEAD!''']] The school is lost -- the world is next! We don't have time for crybabies! Grow some ovaries and '''[[http://www.magickchicks.com/the-world-is-next WOMAN UP!!]]'''
* SecretArt: She knows a special massage technique that stimulates truth telling, which she first demonstrated on Gabrielle, before using it on Melissa -- which is how Mel realized [[spoiler:she was secretly starting to care less about popularity and more about her friends]]!
* {{Tsundere}}: Tandy's a textbook example (set to "tsun"), even when she warms up to those around her.
** First seen, when she offeres [[http://www.magickchicks.com/take-it-doofus Tiffany some of her food]], out of respect for how she dealt with Faith teasing her.
** It's also reflected in how she and Gabrielle [[VitriolicBestBuds relate to each other]]. For all Tandy's griping, she seems to care about her such as when she refers to Gabrielle [[AffectionateNickname as "Gaby"]], when she tells Melissa [[spoiler:that she could be dead, along with Amelia and Faith]].
* VitriolicBestBuds: With Gabrielle, who has a knack for beating her at [[http://www.magickchicks.com/papier-beats-roche "roche-papier-scissors"]], which annoys her to no end. But Tandy finds [[http://www.magickchicks.com/magic-hands other ways]] to get even with her. Despite this, it's subtly revealed that Tandy cares about her (seen in the preceding entry).

* CoolTeacher: He saved Jacqui from a ScaryLibrarian by flirting with her. [[spoiler:The librarian was actually Jacqui using a glamour spell to achieve just this.]]
* HotTeacher: Jacqui's goes googley-eyed over him, [[spoiler:and she's dating him [[MasterOfIllusion by disguising herself]] as a HotLibrarian]].
* StoicSpectacles: The only time thus far he's shown any significant amount of emotion being [[spoiler:when the principal told him about Melissa causing a level 9 magical event]] and when [[spoiler:Jacqui shows up half naked on his desk after class]].

[[folder:Hekate]]
The goddess of witchcraft.

* BadBoss: She shrinks Melissa when Hekate sees the Wand, and begins The Wand gaining more influence over her onetime Favorite. [[spoiler:Also doesn't show concern when TheUnfavorite, Cerise, drinks a potion meant to help Melissa override the Wand's power over her -- here she seems bored. 527* BaitAndSwitchComment: Cerise thinks that Hekate is about to offer her great power due to the fact that her old favourite, Melissa, has been ruined by the wand. But no, Hekate just wants Cerise to fix her.
* IncomingHam: As befitting a being of her stature:
-->'''Hekate: ''DAUGHTERS! May those that have wronged you beware my wr-''''' Oh... It's you. What is it this time? [[MundaneUtility Your lip gloss the wrong color again?]]\
'''Melissa:''' [[SeriousBusiness That was an emergency!]]
* TheCorrupter: As Melissa is her favourite follower, but is being "ruined" by the Wand, she seeks to empower Melissa's witch blood to its full strength in order to curb the Wand's influence on her. When [[spoiler:Cerise takes the potion instead, Hekate offers to allow Skye to take some of Cerise's corruption into herself in order to save Cerise from her PhlebotinumOverload. She ''does'' at least warn Skye about the consequences, but Skye [[LoveMartyr ignores them]].]]
* DeadpanSnarker: She frequently makes hilariously cynical comments:
-->'''Hekate:''' Don't mind her, she's just dying.\
'''Skye:''' Dying?! Omigosh! We have to do something!\
'''Hekate:''' Don't worry, it'll be good for her.
* DivineIntervention: [[spoiler:Hekate wants Melissa to kill Cerise so as to make her unworthy of the Wand, or for Cerise to kill Melissa to prove herself a worthy successor. When someone ''else'' nearly manages to kill Cerise, Hekate intervenes by pulling out the sword and knocking off the imposter's wig.]]
* TheFashionista: She loves good clothes offered to her and calls out Savage Skye on her own taste in clothes: "These look Horrendous!"
** When Chastity is made High Priestess and the Sewing Club makes haute couture fashion, Hekate is thrilled.
* GetARoom: This [[http://www.magickchicks.com/leave-room strip.]]
* GodsHandsAreTied: She can no longer interact with Melissa directly thanks to the Wand and is thus forced to send her a gift via a proxy. She foolishly chooses [[TheResenter Cerise]].
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: She tries to "save" Melissa from the Wand's influence by increasing the power of her witch's blood, which would hopefully block out the Wand's "corruption". But because she was foolish enough to trust [[TheResenter Cerise]] with the AmplifierArtifact, Cerise drinks it for herself.
** WhenLifeGivesYouLemons: [[spoiler:With how Cerise has powerleveled and forced Melissa now into ThereCanOnlyBeOne territory, Hekate looks to use ''Melissa killing Cerise'' as how she will do the "saving" now thanks to her UriahGambit.]]
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: Melissa was loyal to you before you saw the wand, then what did you do? You went ballistic and shrank her down. It happened to be where pixie dust was, too. Well, it wasn't like turning Mel into a pixie would bypass the PowerIncontinence problem she had that forced the wand to be separated from her, right? Or turn her into a CuteWitch MagicalGirl, Right? Or put Mel's loyalties to you in jeopardy in the process, RIGHT?!? [[RuleofThree Whoops...]] and as a bonus, the Wand now has Mel "corrupted" enough [[http://www.magickchicks.com/not-meant-for-your-world to bring out a potion to force Mel back to you?]] Way to go, Lady...you turned a loyal witch into a [[FromNobodyToNightmare potential threat.]]
* OurGodsAreDifferent: She is the goddess of witchcraft. She wields a great deal of magical power, but doesn't seem capable of doing much directly, instead choosing to act through mortals.
* PostModernMagik: Traditionally, sacrifices to Hecate include meat or live dogs and lambs. Nowadays, [[http://www.magickchicks.com/my-favorite she'll take designer clothing instead]]. Of course, she first insists, "You know how it works! I'm not one of those [[AttentionWhore attention-whore genies!]] You need my help, you offer some tribute first!" (Meaning the price for her help isn't "cheap" but can be easily arranged for.)
** Cerise wins her over with strawberry-kiwi Snapple, though, for a moment.
** And again when Cerise turns Artemis Academy into her own territory, including converting her classmates into Hekate's followers. Chastity, the Sewing Club President, has become High Priestess and has worked to bring haute couture to Hekate, which delights her to no end.
* PsychicPowers: She wields more than just magic. She is capable of launching psychic attacks that can take control of or drain other beings.
* UriahGambit: [[spoiler:She plans to end the Wand's influence over Melissa by having Melissa ''kill Cerise.'' Why? So Melissa can inherit Anastasia's kingdom. Given Cerise has turned into a megalomaniac who'd enslaved Artemis Academy, supposedly killed several of their peers ''including their own former coven-mate Jacqui,'' and is now intent on ending this by ''killing Melissa'' as well, Hekate might just succeed as it's shaping up to be where ThereCanOnlyBeOne.]]

[[folder:Skye]]
A relatively weak esper with the power to talk to animals.
-----

* ADarkerMe:
** Post-corruption, her inhibitions become very loose. [[spoiler:Part of this could because she took part of Cerise's overwhelming power, and possibly some of Cerise's spirit, into herself in Chapter 14 to save Cerise from dying.]]
** She scares Cerise at her locker, first by emailing pictures of Cerise in a bikini from Cerise's own smartphone to herself, then asks her "Go skinny dipping?"
--->'''Skye:''' You ''do'' want to skinny-dip, don't you? I can see it in your eyes! You want to lose your inhibitions! You want to run naked through the forest at midnight! Howl at the moon!
** Cerise tries to run to class, but Skye zings her with "You can't run from who you really are, Cerise!"
** AttackItsWeakPoint: Skye knows a nibble to Cerise's ear makes her "nothing to fear."
** BrainwashedAndCrazy: After realizing Cerise was really only interested in Callista, she runs away in tears, only to encounter [[spoiler:[[TheCorrupter a mysterious being that have its own idea of]] "what kind of creature she could be." It even unnerves Cerise at the end of "Birthday Suit" when Skye seems to outdo her in everything, and scares Cerise outright when Callie is in danger of being eaten by wolves. It eventually turns out that future Cerise was said mysterious being, and that Skye had ''allowed'' this to happen on Cerise's behalf]].
** ClothingDamage: When Skye crashes Callista's party, the outfit she was in earlier is shown with a few tears and stains to it. One girl even asks, "What happened to '''her!?'''"
*** BestKnownForTheFanservice: When Sandi points out Skye's in "rags," Skye suddenly realizes Sandi's right. Skye then takes off her clothing, going "We can't have that!" and putting Sandi into a StunnedSilence. Faith later admits once Skye's changed to another outfit, "...you seem to have been a good source of entertainment for the girls."
*** Cerise, seeing she'd been trumped in that department, vows to reclaim that spot "Once I figure out how to get '''even nakeder!'''" (Earlier, Cerise prided nudity as a "spiritual experience" after giving Callie artwork of herself, nude.)
** ComicSutra: She can bring Cerise "to her knees" during "Private Fun Time"
** EvilFeelsGood: During her crazy routine Skye almost dances, and even after it's stopped, still grins like it's the funniest joke of her life.
** HorseOfADifferentColor: Her entrance when crashing the party was impressive, but departure on a wolf's back managed to beat it. A nice touch.
** MurderTheHypotenuse: [[spoiler:She orders a pack of wolves to eat Callista]].
** TookALevelInBadass: She doesn't flinch when Callie pulls a bow on her. Because she can bring wolves to bear on Callie -- and a chipmunk to destroy her bowstring (and Callie's edge).
** {{Yandere}}
* [[AllGirlsWantBadBoys All Girls Want Bad Girls]]: Skye wants a woman with a strong personality as a lover, which is why she loves Cerise and rejects Rain, even if the latter's personality isn't especially weak. In the end, it boils down to this trope.
* TheBeastmaster: While she can't [[SummonMagic summon animals on her own]], she can take advantage of creatures summoned by other people, as Cerise nearly learns to her dismay.
** When Callie aims her bow at Skye to get her drop let Cerise go, Skye warns Callie "My babies might take your joke the wrong way." In come several wolves ready to protect "Mama."
* CharacterDevelopment / FromNobodyToNightmare: Skye went from a timid challenger to Cerise, to an admirer when she saw Cerise kiss Callista on their date, to someone who thought Cerise liked her too (but was using her to get closer to Callie), to her present BrainwashedAndCrazy Evil-Corrupted version 2.0 ready to claim Cerise for her own. And have no guilt about using wolves to eat Callie to do it.
** At Cerise's locker, she even becomes someone who could cause ''Cerise'' to run in panic!
** But in Chapter 14, we see Skye's motivation for her major change and the noble reason why. [[spoiler:We find that Cerise's spirit, who became "Mr. Inky," brought Skye to Cerise before her mortal body, about to be destroyed through PhlebotinumOverload, could die. To save Cerise from dying, Skye's willing to let the extra power corrupt her soul.]]
* TheDragon: [[spoiler:She seems to be this to Cerise's BigBad. In Chapter 14, she saves Cerise from dying by taking some of Hekate's excess power, as well as her evil, into herself. It boosts her ability to communicate with animals such that as of Chapter 15, Skye doesn't NEED to be in proximity to get them to do her work. Which helps when they prepare to make a massive teleportation circle to take out the Artemis Student Council, Melissa and Jacqui. In Chapter 18, Rain makes Skye look like TheStarscream when she runs through Cerise with her "big girl sword" after Rain impersonates Skye.]]
* {{Expy}}: She's the [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic Fluttershy]] in Magick Chicks cast of pony expies.
* FaceHeelTurn:
** Showed signs in "Birthday Suit" (chapter 9) when she was ready to have Callie eaten by wolves to take Cerise for herself.
** Later becomes more brazen in "Imposters" (chapter 12) to where she can even scare Cerise when she knows what the then-redhead would ''really'' like to do.
** After reappearing in "Broken Up" (chapter 14) after her earlier self drains Cerise of excess evil to keep Cerise from dying, is now more savage and openly evil, having also gained some of Hekate's essence.
** In "Whose Idea Was This Again?" (chapter 15), she is openly with an evil grin [[spoiler:and TheDragon to Cerise's BigBad]].
* FriendToAllLivingThings: A benefit of being an animal telepath.
* GoodEyesEvilEyes: She had wider eyes pre-corruption, but Skye now has a bit of a squint with an "up-to-something" glint in her eyes. As if she's in the game of love's "next round" against Callie for Cerise.
* ImpossiblyTackyClothes:
** [[spoiler:according to Hekate ''[[http://www.magickchicks.com/what-happened-to-you here]]'' on her non-uniform appeareance. This also includes what looks like a corset with Tutu and Goth accessories. 589** And now has a Christmas variation in [[http://www.magickchicks.com/naughty-christmas this artwork]].
* InTheBack: [[spoiler:Runs Cerise through with her "big girl sword" while behind Cerise, claiming before she wanted to help. However, this was really someone else impersonating Skye doing so.]]
* LoveMakesYouEvil: [[spoiler:She saves Cerise's life, not just out of compassion, but a willingness to do "anything for her". TheCorruption is the price she has to pay.]]
* LoveMartyr: [[spoiler:She [[MagicKiss willingly takes Cerise's corruption into herself,]] staining her soul and making her evil, in spite of Cerise's horrible flaws. All to win her love]].
* PurityPersonified: [[spoiler:Hekate]] says that there is no malevolence in her aura whatsoever, which is an impressive trait for a mortal.
* RhymesOnADime:

* ShowgirlSkirt: Wears one with FluffyFashionFeathers in one more styled with ''Film/BlackSwan'' in this [[http://www.magickchicks.com/hug one-shot pic]] by Cassandra.
* SlasherSmile: Has one when Cerise tells the campers Faith's lost her connection to the school and obviously now enjoys being Cerise's second.
* SpeaksFluentAnimal: Her {{Telepathy}} is specialized for communicating with animals.
* UnwittingPawn: Cerise pretends to like her, but actually just uses her as a tool to make Callista jealous and accelerate the development of their relationship.
** TheDogBitesBack: Post-corruption, Skye gives Cerise a deep kiss in front of Callista, so possibly Skye has the means to challenge Callie for Cerise. [[spoiler:Which include a pack of hungry wolves and a bowstring-chewing chipmunk.]] It also seriously unnerves Cerise at the end.
*** She also unnerves Cerise more when she meets the redhead at her locker. Seeing Cerise's smartphone has pictures of Cerise in a bikini, Skye emails them to herself. She then paints a disturbing picture of what Cerise's inner heondist would love to do (see the quote under "A Darker Me") with a crazed, evil look in her eyes. It causes Cerise to run in panic.
** However, with her entry into Cerise and Hekate's meeting, Skye would [[spoiler:be the "battery" to relieve Cerise's "power problem"... and]] play a part in her outdoing Cerise later on...
** Though now, she knows enough about Cerise to turn her on (with an ear nibble) and "bring her to her knees" during "Private Fun Time."
*** TheMole: [[spoiler:This "Skye," however, is revealed to be TheMole for the Ninja Club, now LaResistance. The real Skye was captured by the Ninja Club, stripped naked and bound and gagged.]]
* WeakButSkilled / HeartIsAnAwesomePower: She could win over animals in her battle with Cerise until that bee sting caused Toby's pain to override her power. After her corruption, she could command a chipmunk to neutralize Callie's bow and a pack of wolves to attack Callie. She later uses them to [[spoiler:set up a massive teleportation circle to get rid of the Student Council, as well as Cerise's former coven mates.]]

[[folder:Rain]]
A member of the Combat Corps.

* ArmorPiercingQuestion: [[spoiler:"Excuse me, but are those... boy parts?"]]
* Determinator: Following Cerise's takeover of the acadmy, Skye reports that Rain has been acting against them and that she's vowed to bring Cerise to her knees.
* ExpositoryHairStyleChange: Jacqui referred to Rain's as "angry hair". A few moments later, Rain cofronts Melissa in front of the school, to let her know that [[ItsPersonal things weren't over between them.]]
* {{Expy}}: Of [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic Rainbow Dash.]]
* HopelessSuitor: She has a crush on Skye, but Skye wants a woman with a strong personality, and [[ADarkerMe after her corruption]], she gets pretty nasty about it. Nevertheless, [[spoiler:one of the pictures at the end suggests that they do ultimately get together]].
* IGaveMyWord: She told Melissa [[http://www.magickchicks.com/doing-the-judo she'd dye her hair]] if she lost to someone who couldn't tell the difference between kung-fu and judo. The next time Mel sees her, following her loss, [[http://www.magickchicks.com/think-again Rain's hair is dyed black.]]
* LoveMakesYouStupid: [[spoiler:His absurd plan to win Skye's affections aside, he is also stupid enough to free her even after it is clear that she has fallen into evil. The outcome is predictable.]]
* TheMole: [[spoiler:Subverted when Jacqui walks in on him, in the school's showers, where he explained that he wasn't a spy. It was simply a means of getting closer to Skye.]]
* SoreLoser: Tiffany states that Rain will be wanting a rematch, and sure enough, she doesn't take Melissa defeating her very well.
** Rain, as well as AJ, didn't like that it seemed Tiffany had been coaching Melissa on the side either.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: Rain was unaware Mel had been [[TookALevelInBadass training with Tiffany]] for the past month, so she assumed Mel would be [[SquishyWizard easy to beat]], so long as she got to her before she could cast any spells. [[http://www.magickchicks.com/the-dud She was wrong.]]
* UnknownRival: After being humiliated by Melissa at her own combat talent, she trains hard, [[ExpositoryHairStyleChange dyes her hair]], and gives a big speech only to be deflated by Melissa asking "I'm sorry, but... Have we met?"
** YourApprovalFillsMeWithShame: It took a few minutes to jog Melissa's memory but, when she finally recognizes Rain and tells her [[SarcasmMode she loves what she's done with her hair]], Rain [[RageQuit doesn't take it well.]]
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: [[spoiler:In chapter 12, it's revealed that Rain isn't a girl, but a male student from Apollo Academy, who has the ability to (mostly) shift his body mass to mimic the female form.]]

[[folder:Gabrielle]]
A member of Artemis Academy's student council, who specializes in interrogation, and Tandy's best friend. She's later revealed to be staying with [[Webcomic/DangerouslyChloe Naomi's family]], as part of the foreign exchange program. Thus, explaining her thick French accent.
-----

* BoyishShortHair: She has a cropped head hair, though it's difficult to say which color since the comic is in black-and-white.
* ColdBloodedTorture: {{Subverted|Trope}}. Just as she was preparing to interrogate a Faith imposter [[spoiler:Jacqui]], she calmly told her that she planned to pull out her fingernails. [[spoiler:Jacqui]] immediately dropped the disguise and told her everything.
* ComedicSociopath: Gabby's love for her profession and her eagerness to put it into practice is played for laughs, since she's [[http://www.magickchicks.com/papier-beats-roche usually denied]] [[http://www.magickchicks.com/curious-forest-critters the opportunity.]] Though she's had better luck [[http://www.dangerouslychloe.com/strips-dc/getteeng_ze_truth tormenting her host 'sister', Naomi.]]
* EverythingSoundsSexierInFrench: Gabrielle speaks with a thick, pronounced, French accent and seems to be quite the seductress (noted in the [[TheVamp Vamp]] entry).
* ForeignExchangeStudent: She's been boarding with Naomi's family. Her parents have the paperwork and, according to them, everything seems to be in order. Though, given the nature of Artemis Academy, it's possible her papers might've been forged.
* FrenchJerk: Noted in the ComedicSociopath and the [[TheVamp Vamp]] entries.
* GirlsLoveStuffedAnimals: She confessed to wearing bunny-print panties and said she can't sleep at night without hugging [[AffectionateNickname "Monsieur Quackers".]]
* HiddenBuxom: It's hard to tell, since she's usually in school uniform. But [[http://www.dangerouslychloe.com/strips-dc/secret_ottoman_empire at certain angles]], or when she's [[http://www.magickchicks.com/quite-popular wearing a bikini]], you can see she's stacked.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Tandy using a truth massage [[http://www.magickchicks.com/magic-hands to humiliate her]] becomes this in retrospect, when we learn that Gabrielle has done something similar to Naomi, in the past. Which didn't stop her stop her from trying it again, only to be foiled since truth serum has the opposite effect [[spoiler:on angels]].
* TokenEvilTeammate: A comedic example, but still [[ComedicSociopath as close as you're gonna get]], among the student council.
* TruthSerums: One of her go-to methods of interrogation is to lace the victim's food with it, ahead of time. She once used on Naomi, to humiliate her by making her tell the class who her secret crush was. But it failed to work on [[spoiler:Prudence]].
* TheVamp: First mentioned while she was under the effects of Tandy's truth massage, where Gabrielle confessed to making out [[OffscreenVillainy with Amelia's boyfriend]], during her birthday party. And the thought that Naomi might be meeting with a boyfriend prompted Gabrielle to [[http://www.dangerouslychloe.com/strips-dc/stalking_your_host_sister consider stealing him too.]]
* VitriolicBestFriends: Tandy is her bff, though the latter [[{{tsundere}} will never admit it.]] At least, not openly.

* AdventurerArchaeologist: Her career apparently revolves around hunting down artifacts, swords in particular. [[spoiler:She's looking for a weapon that can kill Anastasia.]]
* BadLiar: In spite of her cover story, she frequently refers to the fact that she is a woman and even Melissa's mother, spreading confusion and forcing her to cover things up again using her skull trinket.
* ButICantBePregnant: She and Ana had been about to [[spoiler:commit suicide]], until they noticed they had gained extra weight and wondered if it was due to all the pickles and ice cream they'd been eating. The [[OhCrap realization hit]], followed by a quick trip to the drugstore which [[http://www.magickchicks.com/pickles-and-ice-cream confirmed their suspicion.]]

* CoolShades: Worn at all times, [[SunglassesAtNight even indoors]].
* DestinationDefenestration: After her attempt to kill Anastasia fails she gets [[http://www.magickchicks.com/like-a-leaf thrown though a french door]] right in front of Tandy, Sandi and Melissa.

* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: The tomboy to Anastasia's girly girl. Involuntary, but also necessary if she's going to play the role of Melissa's father. She was not happy to find out the coin toss was rigged.

* BadassAbnormal: She appeared to be an ordinary highschool student, who practiced magic, before inadvertently stranding herself [[spoiler:in The Shadow Realm]]. Whether it was due to the time spent there, or the teachings from [[spoiler:the Lord of Shadows]], one thing is clear: she came back as [[WhatTheHellAreYou 'something more']] than when she left. And that's after being said to have weakened, due to [[spoiler:jointly giving birth to Melissa]].
* ButICantBePregnant: As noted in Dakota's section.
* ChronicBackStabbingDisorder: hinted in her interactions with Dakota, and by her rise to power in the shadow realm.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: When Melissa goes over a list of several of Cerise's evil deeds, instead of catching Melissa's point that Cerise is dangerous, Anastasia merely experiences nostalgia over her own villainous ventures and tells Cerise that her parents must be so proud.
* DeadpanSnarker: Can't resist messing with Melissa even in the midst of the emotionally thorny revelation of her origin.
* DisproportionateRetribution: She wasn't popular in High School. So her way of dealing with it? Send the popular kids the Shadow Realm. [[HoistByHisOwnPetard Only to cast the spell wrong and wind up there herself.]]
* EnemyMine: Joins with Dakota to raise Melissa, after a literal custody battle.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Despite her LackOfEmpathy towards anyone else, she genuinely does care for Melissa. She is even willing to give up her grudge against her ArchEnemy for her sake.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Appears horrified by Melissa's assertion that Cerise may have killed Jacqui, and even more horrified by the idea of Melissa killing Cerise.
* EvilOverlord: At least, formerly. These days, she's a stay-at-home mom.
* {{Expy}}: Of Queen Beryl from ''Franchise/SailorMoon''.
* FusionDance: Fused with Dakota after their battle [[spoiler:as Musical Starlight and Queen Obscuria]] when the dimensional rift they were falling through collapsed around them and merged them together. As such they could feel each other's thoughts, feelings and vices (in her case, Dakota's conscience and empathy). It nearly [[DrivenToSuicide drove them to suicide]] [[spoiler:until they found out they were somehow pregnant with Melissa]].
* HiddenDepths: Jacqui calls her a "milk and cookies and don't wear your dress too short" kind of Mom.
** And even though she is evil and doesn't mind killing to get what she wants, she does love her daughter and agrees with Dakota when she says that Melissa saved them from killing themselves.
* KlingonPromotion: She became Queen of the Shadow Realm by overthrowing [[spoiler:the Lord of the Shadows, whom she beheaded]], at the end of leading a bloody revolt against him.
* LackOfEmpathy: Barring raising Melissa, she really doesn't seem to have any qualms about what she has done in the past. In fact she gets ''offended'' just because Dakota kept stopping her (Though Dakota points out she kept targeting her family and friends and wouldn't have had any problems if Anastasia just moved her operations to the next town over).
** Really, any affection and empathy she has is for her daughter, whom she does love. She was also the one that did the most to raise Melissa, since Dakota was usually away on business trips.
*** She displays some affection for Cerise and some distress at Melissa's assertion that Cerise probably killed Jacqui.
* LikeMotherLikeDaughter: Guess where Melissa got her obsession with popularity?
* NeverMyFault: She's pretty blase about being a former [[spoiler:evil empress]], such as offhandedly mentioning how she [[spoiler:raised an army of evil]] in a bloody revolt, in which thousands died in her name. Or how Dakota had a problem with her for wanting to rule the world. You know, simple stuff.
* PragmaticHero: Ana went from being [[spoiler:Queen of the Shadow Realm]], to a stay-at-home mom, after finding out she and Dakota were pregnant with Melissa.
* ReallyGetsAround: As she explained to Mel, being an evil empress got her a lot action. Which is why she she doesn't know who Melissa's father might've been, or [[http://www.magickchicks.com/super-fetus whether she was ever actually pregnant to begin with.]]
* RetiredMonster: Anastasia still retains many of her villainous traits and only stopped because of her [[BroughtDownToNormal decreased power]] and her desire to [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes give Melissa a normal life]].
* ShoutOut: She name checks several tropes on the Evil Overlord's list.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: The girly girl to Dakota's tomboy. she even rigged the coin toss to ensure that she got the role of Melissa' feminine parent.
* TookALevelInBadass: Covered in the BadassAbnormal entry.
* UnusualEuphemism: combine LackOfEmpathy with DeadpanSnarker and you get phrases like "generous severance package" for a summary beheading. Given her background maybe she really does consider a quick and relatively painless death generous under the circumstances.
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: According to Dakota, she can transform into [[spoiler:a giant snake-woman]].

* ArtifactOfDoom: To understand why hearing "level 9 magical event" made even calm Leandro rapidly produce molten bricks out of the rear end, let's remember: EC had an artifact capable of ''indirectly causing [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/round_one_fight! the extinction of the humanity]]'' if it goes a little loopy and given enough time. 734* GoodIsNotNice: After Mel refuses to do a physical workout with Tiffany, it [[{{Geas}} magically compels]] her to mimic Tiffany's movements to a further extent than is probably healthy.
** And now it's shown to [[MeatPuppet use Mel's body]] to do so even when Mel's asleep.
* HeelFaceBrainwashing: One of its powers, though [[spoiler:Cerise]] {{No Sell}}s it.
* LoyalPhlebotinum: Only Melissa seems to have the ability to use it.
** When Cerise powers up, the Wand [[http://www.magickchicks.com/sob-sob comes]] to Melissa's hand. After Cerise launches a fireball at Melissa, the Wand [[http://www.magickchicks.com/bounce bounces]] it back to Cerise after Melissa uses the Wand as a makeshift tennis racquet.
* MacGuffin: Of the MagicWand variety.
* MorphWeapon: You need a sword, Ash? (shimmer) One quick-changed sword I am! Waitasec...you got an idea, girlie?
** SonicStunner: One magical megaphone coming up! (Mel uses it to scream "SNAP OUT OF IT!!" to stun a frenzied and transformed Brooke, which causes her to regain some sanity.)
* ThePrankster: Hey, listen... what, you don't want to heed me? Fine! <BAM!> Any implied choice was only here as a veneer of politeness, didn't you figure it out yet? I gave you a chance to do it on your own, but Noooooooooo, you prefer it happen "the hard way"...
* SentientPhlebotinum: Becomes apparent when it starts reacting happily to Tiffany and forces Melissa to use her as a mentor. [[spoiler:The Mystery Girl is also the spirit of the Wand for Mel, though in Dakota's time as Musical Starlight, the spirit took the form of a "damn annoying cheerleader."]]
** And, as shown in ''Webcomic/EerieCuties'', it can even [[http://www.eeriecuties.com/strips-ec/stupid_magick_stick guilt trip Melissa into helping her!]]
* SuperCuteSuperPowers: As with any MagicalGirl weapon.

[[quoteright:116:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Mystery_girl_464.jpg]]
A mysterious girl who first appeared to Mel in her dreams, and in person soon afterward. Since then, she's shown up occasionally, appearing in Melissa's subconscious at different times. Just who she is, what her goals are, or if she has any relationship with The Wand, remains unknown.

* CatUpATree: She stages this twice as a way to get Melissa's attention. The first time didn't work quite like she intended.
* CreepyChild: It quickly becomes clear that something is off about her. Especially given the [[PsychoticSmirk sinister expressions]] on her face when Melissa finally gives in to her CatUpATree act and her strange ability to vanish.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Both a meta and InUniverse example, when Melissa refers to her as [[http://www.magickchicks.com/your-damn-kitty "Fade-Out Girl".]] The readership on the comic's forum refer to her by the same nickname, or simply call her "[=FoG=]" for short.
* PsychoticSmirk: Pictured above, once Melissa finally rescues Mow. She smirks and tells Melissa the cat belongs to her now, then vanishes before Melissa and Tiffany's eyes.
* TalkingInYourDreams: Tries to guilt trip Melissa about her supposed CatUpATree many times by sending her strange dreams.
* WithholdingTheirName: If the mysterious girl who [[spoiler:is the spirit of the wand]] has a name, she has yet to reveal it and has [[http://www.magickchicks.com/hang-on evaded the question]] both times [[http://www.magickchicks.com/obsessed-with-hellrune she was asked about it.]] She's only known by the nickname: "fade-out girl"[[note]][[http://www.magickchicks.com/your-damn-kitty given to her by Melissa]], due to her habit of making unexplained appearances in her dreams and in person, then vanishing[[/note]] or [=FoG=] for short.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: When [[spoiler:Hecate]] confirms her to be [[spoiler:the spirit of the wand]], Dakota is surprised by her appearance and mentions that at the time ''she'' knew her, [[http://www.magickchicks.com/what-are-you-after she was a cheerleader.]]
