2	* In one episode of ''WesternAnimation/ThisIsAmericaCharlieBrown'', the ''ComicStrip/{{Peanuts}}'' gang visit the Smithsonian Institution. Among other things, Charlie Brown and Lucy discover the lunar and command modules from Apollo 10 (nicknamed "Snoopy" and "Charlie Brown," respectively), and a ''Peanuts'' Sunday strip.
3	** For that matter, the caps that the astronauts wore under their helmets were referred to as "Snoopy Caps" for their resemblance to the aforementioned animated pup. No doubt Snoopy would enjoy it.
4	** In another episode of the series, it is declared that the Vince Guaraldi piece that would be permanently affiliated with the Peanuts characters through the specials was named "Linus and Lucy" "by coincidence."
5	* ''WesternAnimation/JackieChanAdventures'' episode "And He Does His Own Stunts" has Jackie and company going to Hollywood. Of course, the actor Creator/JackieChan doesn't exist and this is confirmed by people asking "Who's Jackie Chan?" Furthermore, once Jackie is found by a studio and HilarityEnsues, a hot-shot director claims that there will never be a Jackie Chan in Hollywood.
6	* In the ''WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}}'' episode "A Head in the Polls," Leela, Fry, and Bender visit the Head Museum, where the [[BrainInAJar preserved, living heads]] of various famous people are kept. The head of Creator/KateySagal (Leela's voice actress) is briefly shown in the TV stars section.

"I was all of history's great acting robots: Acting Unit 0.8, Thespo-mat, David Duchovny!" However, in the very first episode of the series, Duchovny's preserved head is on display in the Head Museum.
12	* In the final arc of ''WesternAnimation/SpiderManTheAnimatedSeries'', Spidey visits several alternate universes each with their own Spider-Man. In one of those, Spider-Man doesn't exist -- but the comics and films do, and its "Spider-Man" is an unnamed actor who plays him. Spidey then meets Creator/StanLee and talks to him until Madame Web arrives to take Spidey back. When he sees Web, Lee remarks "Who is that exotic woman?". Madame Web was voiced by Joan Lee, Stan Lee's wife.
13	* In the ''WesternAnimation/JusticeLeagueAction'' short 'Missing the Mark,' ''Creator/MarkHamill'', actor of both traditional and voice variety, is kidnapped by the Joker and Trickster, characters long voiced by Mark Hamill and Mark Hamill, and he uses his voice acting skills to mimic theirs, confuse them, and lure them in a place where Swamp Thing, voice by Mark Hamill, can save him. The punchline?

To clarify, Darkwing was actually trying to sell the script of a licensed comic book about himself, as he decided to personally write the script after seeing the initial treatment negatively portraying him as a coward. However, to get him back, the head of the company refuses to publish the comic, resulting in said Disney line. Interestingly enough, at the time the episode aired Disney actually did have their own temporary comic company, and one of the titles they published was a mini-series that adapted the show's 2-part pilot.
17	* In the ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'' episode "[[Recap/SouthParkS8E3ThePassionOfTheJew The Passion of the Jew]]," Stan and Kenny want to get their money back from Creator/MelGibson just as they did from ''Film/BASEketball'', starring [[SelfDeprecation Matt Stone and Trey Parker]].
18	** An in-universe example is how some episodes of the series show famous fictional characters as both fictional and real people interacting with the other South Park characters. For example Mickey Mouse ("The Ring"), Freddy Krueger ("Insheeption") and Dick Dastardly ("Handicar") are actual people in said episodes, but also appear among the fictional characters in the "Imaginationland" trilogy. Jesus is also both a South Park citizen and a fictional character in Imaginationland together with other religious figures. Best not to think about it too much!
19	* The ''WesternAnimation/TinyToonAdventures'' episode "Buster And Babs Go Hawaiian" had a brief visual gag involving Creator/RobinWilliams as Literature/PeterPan in ''Film/{{Hook}}''. The very next episode ("Henny Youngman Day") featured Robin's FunnyAnimal [[NoCelebritiesWereHarmed counterpart]], Robin Killems. Not that big a paradox, though, considering [[RuleOfFunny the nature of the show]]. And if you accept the premise of AnimatedActors, "Killems" could just be a cross-species impersonator.
20	* In ''WesternAnimation/WhatsNewScoobyDoo'', [[Music/{{NSYNC}} JC Chasez]] hatches a plot to frame Mystery Inc by hiring some movie extras to impersonate them (he impersonated Scooby). When Mystery Inc discover this, Daphne is disappointed that she was played by an extra, saying 'What, was Creator/SarahMichelleGellar busy?'
21	** The impersonators of the gang were caricatures of their voice artists--Creator/FrankWelker, Creator/MindyCohn, Creator/GreyDelisle, and Creator/CaseyKasem.

For instance, in "[[Recap/TheSimpsonsS13E16WeekendAtBurnsies Weekend at Burnsies]]", Music/{{Phish}} guitarist Trey Anastasio is shown playing a few bars of the show's theme song during their performance at Homer's rally. [[AluminumChristmasTrees This is something Anastasio actually did during the band's concerts for several years]], often punctuated by him and the audience yelling "D'oh!". In the episode, however, "D'oh!" is replaced by a more generic "Boom!".
29	** Creator/MattGroening definitely exists in the ''Simpsons'' universe, as he appears at a sci-fi convention in the episode [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS15E17MyBigFatGeekWedding "My Big Fat Geek Wedding"]], voiced by himself. He is excitedly proclaimed by Lenny as "the creator of ''Futurama''". Still paradoxical since ''The Simpsons'' is a fictional show in ''Futurama''[='s=] universe, and ''Futurama''[='s=] characters would later appear on the show.
30	** Richard Dean Anderson guest stars in "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bangalore" as the actor starring in ''Series/StargateSG1''. In that series, Anderson's character - Jack O'Neill - is a fan of ''The Simpsons''.
31	** In "Bart vs. Thanksgiving", a Bart Simpson parade float appears on TV just as Homer looks away.
32	** Both ''Series/{{Cheers}}'' and ''Series/{{Frasier}}'' exist in ''The Simpsons'' universe, in spite of the fact that Creator/KelseyGrammer, who was Frasier Crane on those shows, plays Bart's arch-nemesis Sideshow Bob. And just to double down on this, Sideshow Bob's brother and father are played by Creator/DavidHydePierce and Creator/JohnMahoney, respectively - who both played the same on ''Frasier''. Lampshaded in "The Bob Next Door", where Marge and Homer assure Bart that lots of people sound like Sideshow Bob: Frasier from ''Cheers'', Frasier from ''Frasier'', and Lt. Commander Tom Dodge from ''Film/DownPeriscope''.
33	** In addition, "Fear Of Flying" has Homer getting barred from Moe's Tavern and having to find a new bar. At one point he wanders into ''Series/{{Cheers}}'', the same bar containing the same characters from the show, including Frasier Crane. (albeit as TheVoiceless due to scheduling conflicts) This would also seem to indicate that [[WhereTheHellIsSpringfield Springfield is somewhere near Boston]] ([[JustForFun/SeparateSimpsonsGeographyThing though probably not]]).
34	** Both Creator/RickyGervais and Creator/SteveBuscemi have appeared twice on the show - once as themselves and different episodes playing separate InkSuitActor characters.

What makes this especially funny is that in the earlier episode "When You Dish Upon A Star", Homer had actually worked as an errand boy for Baldwin (and his then-wife Creator/KimBasinger and Creator/RonHoward, too) and had spent a great deal of time with him. The voice of the marine biologist in "Bonfire Of The Manatees" should have been ''very'' familiar to him.
36	** Artie Ziff (Creator/JonLovitz) once visited Moe's. As he walks in, he sees several of the other characters whom Lovitz had voiced throughout the show's history. They all greet him in Lovitz's/Ziff's voice.
37	** "[[Recap/TheSimpsonsS15E15CoDependentsDay Co-Dependent's Day]]" introduces the ''Cosmic Wars'' franchise, an obvious spoof of ''Franchise/StarWars'', complete with a blatant Jar-Jar Binks potshot in the form of Jim-Jam Bonks. Trouble is, those movies have already been referenced by name in-series several times before, most prominently in the episode [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS10E9MayoredToTheMob "Mayored To The Mob"]], where Creator/MarkHamill even guest stars as himself.
38	** Multiple episodes establish that the ''Franchise/HarryPotter'' franchise exists in the ''Simpsons'' universe, including "Papa Don't Leech", "The Bob Next Door" and "The Regina Monologues". In the latter the Simpsons even meet JK Rowling, voiced by herself (though it is just a throwaway gag rather than being central to the plot the way Mark Hamill's role was). Yet the ''Simpsons'' universe also has its own version of ''Harry Potter'' called ''Angelica Button'' written by TR Francis, which is such an obvious parody there's no way it could co-exist alongside ''Harry Potter'' as it would constitute copyright infringement. It's also clearly a serious work whose popularity mirrors actual ''Harry Potter'' fandom, so it's not meant to be an in-universe parody either.
39	** Music/WeirdAlYankovic has appeared AsHimself in multiple episodes, and Homer has been established as a big fan of his music. Weird Al has also referenced ''The Simpsons'' in many of his songs, and he even used a clip of one of Bart's prank calls to Moe in "Phony Calls". His appearances in the show weren't just incidental [[CelebrityCameo cameos]], either; he wrote and performed an original song about Homer and Marge's marriage in "Three Gays of the Condo", and he parodied a song that Homer's {{grunge}} band wrote in "That '90s Show".

42	** Season 31's "[[Recap/TheSimpsonsS31E14BartTheBadGuy Bart the Bad Guy]]" introduces the Marble Cinematic Universe, and no points for guessing [[Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse what it's a parody of]]. Trouble is, Creator/MarvelComics has already been established to exist in the ''Simpsons'' universe, as shown in the episodes guest-starring the late Creator/StanLee, plus the real Thanos appeared during a CouchGag in last season's "[[Recap/TheSimpsonsS30E12TheGirlOnTheBus The Girl on the Bus]]".
43	** In "The Day Violence Died", Roger Meyers, Jr. goes on a long tirade about plagiarism in animation, mentioning among other examples that Chief Wiggum is copied from Creator/EdwardGRobinson. Wiggum is present in the [[LeaningOnTheFourthWall same scene]] and [[TomatoInTheMirror understandably confused]]. Later, in "Treehouse of Horror XIX", Edward G. Robinson's ghost accuses Wiggum of ripping him off (both Robinson and Wiggum are voiced by Creator/HankAzaria, of course).
44	** In "I Am Furious (Yellow)", Bart creates a comic strip about Homer, "Angry Dad", which gets adopted into an animated web comic, and the voice actor brought in to play Angry Dad is strongly implied to be Homer's real-life voice actor, Creator/DanCastellaneta. He also appears in an episode where he's only identified as being from ''Series/TheTraceyUllmanShow''
45	** "Diary Queen", the show's belated tribute to Edna Krabappel and her voice actress, Creator/MarciaWallace, ends with a montage of Edna's life, which includes a still of Edna watching ''Series/TheBobNewhartShow'' on her TV. Marcia Wallace, who played Edna, starred on ''The Bob Newhart Show'' as Carol Kester, Bob's receptionist.
46	** Creator/YeardleySmith (voice of Lisa) "guest stars" in a season 32 episode as herself. When asked why her voice sounds familiar, she says she is known for her podcast "''[[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial and nowhere else]]''".
