[[folder:Mountain of Faith]]
* The Aki Sisters have pretty cool themes with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJbHpAUcvkE "A God That Misses People ~ Romantic Fall"]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFugieKYIH4 "Because Princess Inada Is Scolding Me"]], and COOL&CREATE turns the cheerful song into [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40fwAWEiE3M something]] [[TearJerker heart-rending]].
** In an intriguing change of pace, Shironekobeat turns Minoriko's theme into a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMYLA30AFmo folk-ish piece]] that is almost unheard of today.
** Does anyone want some [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKYb5wEM-ro Irish folk?]]
** Their themes are also mashed with "Dear You" from ''Higurashi'', as seen [[https://youtu.be/f1hqZfxNbd0 here.]]
* The Stage 2 theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_H8mULP0XDc "The Road of the Apotropaic God ~ Dark Road"]] is definitely memorable, and not just for expanding one's vocabulary.
%%** A [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDbOyFySDDA vocal version]] by Alstroemeria Records, the same group that made the Bad Apple!! vocal remix.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBYFS1mwEC8 "Dark Side of Fate"]], Hina's theme, has a good, fast-paced tempo, and really invokes the mental image of a spinning Hina.
** Team Nekokan, the crew who did one of the more well-known arranges of "Airman ga Taosenai", [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CP6E6PvtpGs also arranged this theme]].
** Both of Hina's themes are given a severe saccharine injection with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLhaCRETM4c Miracle Hinacle]], and the world is much more blessed thanks to it. In turn, "Miracle Hinacle" also has a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-EgsuGOnh0 Eurobeat remix]] by DJ Command on ''TOHO EURO FLASH VOL. 1''.
** The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zA_lJRLqLl4 EWI version]] is catchy, despite being short.
** And naturally C-CLAYS created [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUIumcgaPpI their own wonderful, hip-hop-esque version]] with Mai Kotohge's help.
** Yuuhei Satellite's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdslMjHr4_g Remains of a Bird's Name]] is an addictively catchy and great techno/vocal arrange of Hina's theme.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbjbNGgL8p8 "The Gensokyo the Gods Loved"]], the stage 3 theme, is sometimes called the most beautiful stage theme in the series and the theme of Gensokyo itself.
** Both [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKO1CcvkGV8 Virus Key]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8dPOJRK2l4 NeutraL]] somehow manage to make it even more beautiful.
** SYNC.ART'S, with the collaboration of Tamari, BB, ''and'' TAMUSIC gives us ''the'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWGXbLiRH-w remix of this theme]].
** How incredible is this theme? Incredible enough that the makers of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w337ij3wtXA this]] ''spectacular'' fanvid found a vocal version worthy enough to be included. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxkzZl-HLGU Enjoy the full version of this vocal masterpiece]]. Theme by Yuuhei Satellite. senya would eventually collaborate with Active [=NEET=]s to add [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_Ob_y2d91g an entire orchestra]] on top of her beautiful vocals.
** Yuuhei Satellite's sister circle, Shoujo Fractal, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHtIEEM-ML8 also provided a rearrangement of the same song]]. Despite the change to the second verse, it is nonetheless still awesome.
** Slowed down, the melody lends itself well to being played on piano, as these [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmXu8ZA8Be8 soulful]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yz_uoyzCmV8 melodious]] arranges can attest.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iq1eC5iAVAk Ahem.]]
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXiKhq-_T4g Now in jazz]]
%%** "We never die 'till the dream has come true! This is the war that we are going to! Carry on and on! Carry on and on! We will fight to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SsX10SS0bQ Save This Land!]]"
%%** Here, have [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufavwiY2Aos C-CLAYS' version.]]
* The stage 3 boss theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tX0PwiwvLnE "Akutagawa Ryuunosuke's 'Kappa' ~ Candid Friend"]], is memorable enough to have been chose as the source of a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-pDJi6xCcA an fanmade anime opening]] of ''Mountain of Faith''.
** Music/{{IOSYS}}' remix of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKqPriymVWY Nitori's theme]] contains dangerous levels of cute, catchiness, and cucumbers, while [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3z2M4cAP1g COOL&CREATE's]] rendition fills it with energy. COOL&CREATE's "The Broken Youkai who Loved a Human" is even more sad to listen to with the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bh2NZuTEac8 English subtitles]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sADGwzf6VHE "Optical Cellophane"]] is just as catchy ([[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WzuWIN2REw with lyrics]]).
** Tutti Sound did a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MjDtLaA2kg rendition]] of Nitori's theme. It's as good as you might expect.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hASaM72IAjI "Kapappa kapappa Nitori".]]
* While it seems to be overlooked compared to the Stage 3 theme, Stage 4's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-F3_Cj-fMWw "Fall of Fall ~ Autumnal Waterfall"]] is just as stellar. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWa4Mz5y0z0 Here]] is a great vocal/rock remix by SYNC.ART'S. Sound Holic [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DdpsHhg6KE went the Eurobeat route]] with their "Fall of Fall" cover.
** Do not discount [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E616Di69OcQ SHO's version!]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdJUCfToQFU Louve d'Automne]] is a beautiful French vocal jazz cover.
* Aya's theme from Mountain of Faith: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPTOQd9E6gE "The Youkai Mountain ~ Mysterious Mountain"]]. Also, here's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utLLjPXrP7Q Demetori's rock remix]].
** And two [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVAnixm5010 great]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2cg5cqxUmM remixes]] from Xi-on!
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uC2oLG-Fl9o Floating Cloud Acoustic Band]] give the folklore-heavy tone of ''[=MoF=]'' the treatment it deserves.
** For the piano lover, here's an excellent [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIi6xrd8vB8 sedating rendition]].
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMQ_O4uO1T8 This]] rendition of Sanae's stage theme ([[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okDBNnAjItU "The Primal Scene of Japan the Girl Saw"]]) is beautiful.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFGplLxmaOg Splendid Encount by SYNC.ART'S]] is wonderful to hear.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjzVFJjdkRY Another one by SYNC.ART'S]] deserves a mention. It is upbeat that could make the sound waves go rave.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvqD9P0vV2s As does this orchestra version]] by SOUND HOLIC.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85kQTOmIVgw This version]] which is equipped with a live action PV has all it takes to make a Good Girl Spark!
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kisjJp28Gfk You can't hold them feels]]. You just can't. The tender instrumentals in the background and Maika's astonishing voice just take you on a train of beauty that won't stop until the last note is played.
* Sanae brings us [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4gqGhN0xnE "Faith is for the Transient People"]].
** FELT gives another stellar track with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrx58e5H4C4 Blue Prayer]].
** One of IRON ATTACK!'s vocalists helped to make [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkYQk8LPjzE "Rain in Vain"]] a piece to remember.
** The notable thing about "Faith" is that it makes a natural rocking beat, ideal for METAL remixes. Did you know that [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AACOrHnR6Vg IOSYS's Pray]] can make it sound like a ''lullaby'' (which Kanako and/or Suwako may have used to help a little Sanae sleep)?
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCJ6gEWopx4 Apparently]], [=TAMusic=] figured out the same trick Music/{{IOSYS}} did, and made "Faith" sound even sadder.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBmR_GUfv7w This remix]] of "Faith" by Neutral is just wonderful.
** Demetori's got us covered here too, and it gets even more awesome when [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3Gtwv_O4QY someone charts the drums to Rock Band 2]] with undeniable skill.
** And [=NeutraL=] does it again to Faith in a sort of SpaghettiWestern style [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxowfL5cl9s right here.]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcPpL1xVpqA This version]] by Liz Triangle is very calm and soothing.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKdpCI5Lm3c This version]] by Lime Green is notable for its style.
* Kanako-sama's stage theme [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UBnlgyivcY "Cemetery of Onbashira ~ Grave of Being"]], which is possibly the most epic stage theme in the series. And since Demetori can make anything awesome, here is [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVSf3KrWzcc their rendition of "Grave of Being"]].
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHFYORrFp8U "The Venerable Ancient Battlefield ~ Suwa Foughten Field"]] can carry players through their countless attempts to finally capture "Virtue of Wind God". There's a reason the song has served as [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6dCMV-le_E the recurring]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJ5vmLeq1r4 Game Over]] {{Leitmotif}}!
** Demetori's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dU_kyLFmbYE Suwa Foughten Field / Jehovah's Yahveh]] is probably one of the best ways to listen to Suwa's Foughten Field on Lunatic. After all, what better suits a god than EPIC SPEED METAL?
** Once more, O-Life Japan [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yb8ZLYV3bdg delivers with great feeling]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oV7PeSGu76o Virus Key does it again]], with a bonus "The Gods Give Us Blessed Rain ~ Sylphid Dream" at the end.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyAXSnUPE_s Tutti Sound combines her theme]] with "Grave of Being" and a face-melting chorus for a result that can only be described as divine.
** [[http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm16091812 Last Moments from NJK Records]] combines the awesomeness of Touhou musics with Eurobeat. Warning: [[Manga/InitialD Never play this song while driving]].
** A-ONE crashes the party once again, this time with the ''Christian'' eurobeat song [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thxEeVpg0mA "FAITH"]] that reflects Kanako's [[GodsNeedPrayerBadly wish]] to obtain faith from prospective believers. Bonus points for incorporating a quote from the Bible that also touches on the subject of faith (Matthew 17:20).
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HZdQBKzfZ0 Sound Sepher's Arrange of this song]].
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nfvo-xyq_zQ And we have a remix of it mixed with a tad bit of Bach]].
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbENkdOW2rU "Ref-Rain"]] from Yuuhei Satellite.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tU2sFT8bimA The arrange]] from Carrot Wine.
* The Extra stage music, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxUIwgA6DZk "Tomorrow will be Special; Yesterday was Not"]], is a strong contender for best stage theme ''in the series''.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1vOxNXMHwk This arrangement]] by the famed musicians of UNDEAD [=CORPORATIOn=] mixes traditional instruments, haunting vocals and face-melting heavy metal into an epic result.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QDmMeEOiQM Who knew]] Schranz could be melodic?
* Suwako's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7dLp2Eb7cg "Native Faith"]], for its cheerfulness and remixes.
** After hearing of Suwako's desire to have her as a snack, Cirno has issued [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8OWSlqz1h4 this rebuttal]].
** FELT brings in another heartfelt piano and vocal piece with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DG9qI4HCsnE Call On.]]
** Sisimai keeps the upbeat atmosphere with their [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rDhMMVai7I trademark piano duet]].
** This [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuK9WSXx3WI techno remix]] by Rolling Contact is awesome in its own right.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-sAaZ5EMB8 Native Face by Cross Gear]] is what you get when you mix "Native Faith", and "The Gensokyo The Gods Loved". In other words, PURE FUCKING AWESOME.
** A chiptune/dnb mix of "Native Faith" shouldn't work, but somehow, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehy2eT8yfto it does.]]
** In case you need something more metal to properly express the terror of Suwako, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=As0eQfoEyhY IRON ATTACK! has you covered.]]
%%** In the mood for symphonies, orchestras or solos based on Native Faith? [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDOKtBozd9w We need to remedy that.]]
%%What's awesome about this?
* And finally there is the ending theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPDQgDUv3k4 "Shrine at the Foot of the Mountain"]], which closes the game on a relaxing pitch. From this, Ping Xing Shi Jie created their own [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlUOtM3Pr8A folk rendition]] that adds in an extra touch of grandeur to the scene.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Scarlet Weather Rhapsody]]
* The game's versions of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiyRDaAp14A "Locked Girl ~ Girl's Secret Room"]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UHrkLINE0U "Septette for the Dead Princess"]] exude grace and grandeur.
** As is the fast paced version of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOPvxcxaWsc "Lunatic Eyes ~ Invisible Full Moon"]] the game provides.
** Marisa rocks out with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChyDsb-oTJE "Vessel of Stars ~ Casket of Star"]], which ranks as one of her most badass themes.
** Sakuya's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7AVGuAhn8k "Flowering Night"]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vS_a8Edde8k "Night of Nights"]], while subject to tons of {{Fanvid}} memes and the like over the years, is a quite good, fast-paced and incredibly catchy tune in its own right.
** Youmu's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8Vdlix-ys8 "Hiroari Shoots a Strange Bird ~ Till When?"]], even though it sounds much more playful, still proves to be a good remix.
* The main title theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wr6TSRuisjc "Sky of Scarlet Perception",]] is such a ridiculously epic piece of music for a video game that it isn't even funny.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EV-H1zJbKk "The Ground's Color is Yellow"]], the theme of the destroyed Hakurei Shrine. A wild, frantic tune with some amazing violin-work, perfect for a fight amidst changing weather.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXIy17nhPUU "Broken Moon"]], Suika's conversation track arranged for a battle theme. Nostalgic, cheerful and silly, justificably could be considered a theme song for Gensokyo as a whole. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LthTzz26Hc "花月夜/Flowery Moonlit Night"]], Yonder Voice's rendition of "Broken Moon", has a longing, melancholic theme wrapped in a energetic, upbeat tune.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mi_wxBoHg0E "Crimson in the Black Sea ~ Legendary Fish"]] is pure classic ZUN and makes Iku's oar-fishy awesomeness apparent.
** Music/{{IOSYS}}' arrange of Iku's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUkBw7jXrJQ "Saturday Night Fish Girl"]], will make you want to bust out the disco ball and dance along.
** O-LIFE JAPAN's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lm-b2gpHGCA "Iku-san Should be Fever"]] is the funkiest ''Touhou'' remix of them all.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zM636580PhI "Bhava-agra As Seen Through a Child's Mind"]] (Tenshi's ''Last Spell'' theme music) is amazing for so many reasons. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgqxW7f2VwA =NeutraL='s remix of it]] may evoke strange feelings of pity for the celestial brat.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpimM9FF_cI "Catastrophe in Bhava-agra"]], Tenshi's proper {{Leitmotif}}, is quite badass too.
** And then we have SOUND HOLIC'S [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AP3tB6fyg0Q Heartquake Super Shock]]. Aw man! It is so made of epic win! Now we have a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMsVeTGAxQ0 PV version]]. GO TENSHI!!! And it seems O-Life Japan has granted us this playful, yet somewhat strange, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Rp6ptG_YI8 remix.]]
** Fox Factory's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Z6nA634KaE remix.]] This Orchestral arrange of Tenshi's theme is so grand, it WILL make you shiver with tears at how unbelievably grand it is.
** Yuuhei Satellite strikes again with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoO2FJwJzlY "Kafuka naru Gunjou he"]].
** Remixed into [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpvJ02YJj_4 Catastrophe in Paradise]] for ''WebAnimation/DiamondInTheRoughTouhou''.
** Riverside provides a catchy [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6h_dpuKfaW0 remix]] of it as well.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mU1uUUsEF9w "Skies Beyond the Clouds"]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KKikDF0Y0U "Flawless Clothing of the Celestials"]], Iku and Tenshi's pre-battle themes repsectively, are just as good, if not better, than their actual themes. Fox Factory also did a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcEbD2Xo0qU orchestral arrange]] of "Flawless Clothing of the Celestials". If you liked the original, this arrange will make you appreciate the song even more.
* "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqoAY3_zU7E Darkening Dusk]]", a relaxing and catchy {{Theremin}} rendition of the [[ThemeAndVariationsSoundtrack SWR Main Theme]] that plays over the ending slides of the single-player campaign.
* Much like the title theme, the credits theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wo91Vje3SdI "Oriental Sky of Scarlet Perception"]] is ridiculously epic for what it's set to. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QActDPoOkdA This]] full arranged version of the song from the OST makes it even more epic, if you can believe it.
* Yukari's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3xMfbu6MzU "Night Falls ~ Evening Star"]], is a fastpaced and crazy remix of her ''Immaterial and Missing Power'' theme that seems fitting for someone who would attack you with a surprise train.
* "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLswa5g08Y0 Drunk as I like]]". Part folk, part rock, all catchy. And it's pretty hard to escape if you enjoy watching [[VideoGame/GarrysMod GMod]] Monsters/[[VideoGame/TeamFortress2 TF2]] Freaks.

** And one group made an absolutely beautiful [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5U1THLG6ZQ classical arrangement.]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuUDxT7l93k Isn't it sad, Parsee?]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCSurW2yWkg "Mizuhashi's Jealoussic Park"]]. [[MotorMouth Insane to sing along to]], but funny as hell.
** Naturally, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1C5WeVmHbU TAM provides his own contribution]]. The first one is of his usual quality, and the second (beginning at 6:10) transcends even that, creating instant floods of tears.

* Yuugi's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_frs8ohivQ "A Flower-Studded Sake Dish on Mt. Ooe"]]. It's very proud, boisterous and adventurous, perfectly fitting "Yuugi the Strong".

* The final stage theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yILFWxwKD0I "Hellfire Mantle"]], is impressive too, though it doesn't get very much attention due to the misfortune of her [[OvershadowedByAwesome actual boss theme being one of the series' most popular]]. 216** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skCiZ9IJmZY "Clouds Over the Moon, and Wind Over the Flowers"]] is a rocky song whose lyrics lavishly depict the passion of eternal love, and is featured in ''WebAnimation/FantasyKaleidoscope''[='=]s second opening sequence, which puts a heavy emphasis on the events of ''Subterranean Animism''. A later collaboration with Active [=NEETs=]' symphony would produce [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTFitaiCH_I an even more moving piece]].
** Innocent Key's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_HaxlJbTtY Josei no Qualia ~ Subterranean Rose]] is an epic vocal/gothic rock track with violins and {{Ethereal Choir}}s thrown in. It's even combined with parts of Hartmann's Youkai Girl below, and even has an animated {{Seinen}} PV full of NightmareFuel that's centered on Marisa, Alice, Patchouli, and Koishi herself in an adorable detached-sleeved alternate costume.
** ryu-5150 and Miya made a metal remix of Last Remote called [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQIq8NUf9es Don't stay]] which sounds amazing.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4syvy2vjvQY "Hartmann's Youkai Girl"]], Koishi's theme.
** [=dBu=] always does good ''Touhou'' arranges, and their arrange of "Hartmann's Youkai Girl", [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLv9KP2jpXo "Demon Tale Sonata"]], is no exception.
** Koishi's theme is noteworthy because of its symmetry - it sounds very similar [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpHGyRZkgRs if you play it backwards]], but also infinitely more disturbing. As one person put it, it sounds like ''the sounds are being sucked out of your head''.
** A very claustrophobic sounding remix from [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1ofnslOBRs O-Life Japan]]. Even when it goes quiet, it feels like she's gone into subconscious-mode.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zX4V9Wm44us This]] is a "Whole new look on Koishi's Theme" indeed.

** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5CuU5rT3Lo Emotional Disorder]] by [=DjtheSdotcom=] is a very frantic take on Koishi's theme mixed in with the Hyper Zone theme from ''VideoGame/KirbysDreamLand3'' as a nice bonus.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfSIZexGCxI "514"]], an upbeat, synth-heavy remix that encompasses Koishi's joyful, yet unpredictable nature. It's used during the first part of Koishi's fight against Reimu in the 3D animation [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjJMWj6BYhY "Brambly Boundaries"]]. [[note]]514 can be read in Japanese as "Koishi" if one takes a look at the individual numbers (5 is "go", 1 is "ichi", 4 is "shi", making for "goishi" and sounding similar to "Koishi")[[/note]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJeeAoKkcC0 CENSORED!!]], from t+pazolite, is 218 seconds of pure insanity. You almost forget that it's a remix!
** With a name like [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQCZnNzJ9ac "Paranoia Step",]] it's no wonder this song with more shifts in tone perfectly fits in with Koishi's particular brand of...being. It goes from hard rock with warning sirens right into a melancholy piece with solitary drum beats right into more upbeat rock and right back into the insanity.
* The credits theme, "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_jrel6p-nk Energy Reimei ~ Future Dream]]", comes off as standard fare for its category, but [=DiGiTAL WiNG=] take it upon themselves to elevate it into a ridiculously epic Eurobeat tune, dubbed "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rImYrlPRHvc PLAZMA]]". 243** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtW7Keh6eZU O-Life Japan's truly EPIC remix]]. They managed to time stretch it (normally it's 3/4, but this remix is 4/4) without making it sound obvious, props to them!

** Buta-Otome gives us a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LeuRYe3gJKI very stripped down, low jazz number]] that manages to find some serious power in the end.

** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbyYBWLmOuU "Starmine"]] is a badass vocal rendition by XL Project, which sounds like it should be in an anime.
** Jericho's Law adds a dubstep twist to "Interdimensional Voyage" with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxStINZw5vs "Like a Shipwreck"]].
** Fast paced guitar, technobeats, and a rocking backdrop to the theme? [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ik-aoafnxZ4 "Crossanchor Murasa"]] from Gensou Shoujo Taisen has it all. Jam out as you drag your enemies to their watery graves.
** Some mad genius decided to give the theme a mash up with the memetic [[VideoGame/{{beatmania}} "RED ZONE"]], and the result was a one hell of a fast-paced techno piece. Behold, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGnlIzO0c7Q "DEAD ZONE"]].

* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDNsk2UXYE4 "The Tiger Patterned Vaisravana"]], Shou's theme.
** The thing that makes it such a perfect song is how well it fits in-game. Other boss songs have a sort of chaotic energy bordering on playfulness (one big marker of ZUN's composition style), but Shou's theme eminates pure, raw power. And she ''[[ThatOneBoss earns]]'' it.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yG9gEHQON4 dBu]] takes the song to even greater PowerLevels.

** As usual, Tutti Sound created [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9CT1BqybJM an epic version]] worthy of the Youchrist.
** Instead of making this theme even more booming, instead they softened it up with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxVf_tNExLA Skyscraper of Passion]]. It's one of there best mixes.

** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOQvpyxjTYg Hydrangea]] by Sound Online will make you cry in joy for the epic vocal remix.
** The remix by [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3myqXnXHUY ~xi-on~]], whose techno beats paint a lovely picture of a truly epic final battle with the most peaceful Touhou character of them all.
** Ryu-5150's Music/JAMProject-style arrangement, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8d9D-ZSKKg "Burning Heart"]], is so heroic it hurts - but that's part of the fun.
** Yuuhei Satellite's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbUu88xZsmM "Emotional Chemistry"]] brings in more senya vocal goodness.
** The two ''Toho Eurobeat'' arrangements: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRRRuHju5DM "Savior of the Sky"]], sung by Travis "Odyssey" Stebbins; and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5rAXjWZMkg "Cosmic Rainbow"]].

** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSzmBgv9jmg "Release-Infinity"]], a vocal trance arrangement by [=EastNewSound=].
** Sound Holic's version, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELTYewpNyhM "Cosmic Magic Shooter"]], is by far the best Eurobeat arrangement of this song.
** Hobby Atelier Carrot Wine have managed to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AT1baS9a4nE outdo Ryu-5150 in epicness]]. Their version of Byakuren's theme sounds like something out of the finale of a SuperRobot show.
* The Extra Stage theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUDqOIBY9FA "UFO Romance in the Night Sky"]], is a very playful song, very befitting of its name and the concept of the Extra Stage as a search into the mystery behind the [=UFOs=] you've been seeing throughout the game. Noteworthy for containing a small sound effect which became known as a ''laughing youkai''.
** This [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qrp3VGQO4Ek idol style remix]], brought to you by Sound Holic
** Odyssey gives us another fabulous arrangement with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqpn1z_BP_8 "UFO Lover"]].
* A flurry of remixes has hit the internet in the days following the release of UFO. Most of them were of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMXaJvxGAxo "Heian Alien"]], the Extra boss theme.
** And the comparisons between both Nue and Flandre have created [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReM4e6j3A6E this]], so even MORE people can agree that U.F. Owen was her.
** The circle Tutti Sound has recently come out with a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8V_btnGyFM purely awesome classical arrange]] of Nue's theme that has been described as "Mussorgsky meets ZUN meets Wagner."
** Less awesome but still relevant is [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwRX1QW9oXE Dark Phoenix's contribution]], sinister and secretive.

[[folder:Hisoutensoku, expanding on SWR]]
* Reimu's remixed spellcard theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhQwOE4GBgk "Mystic Oriental Love Consultation"]], is very badass, and very [[Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar Fatal KO-esque]]. It also gets the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBtRTbDWXGI "End of Century"]] Mix which pays homage to [[Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar "Ai Wo Torimodose"]], Zun style.
* Alice gets a throwback to her PC-98 days with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SO0xo8Go824 "The Grimoire of Alice"]].
* Sanae breaks out her old clubroom guitar to belt out a new version of her theme [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlN943QPSQw "Faith Is For The Transient People"]].
* Utsuho brings along a nice remix of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3exZfL6LbY "Sun Worship of Gnosis ~ Nuclear Fusion"]].
* Cirno receives a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cL47vm4Pyc very jazzy remix]].
* Meiling finally gets a HotBlooded [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AqYJCU98Qg arrangement]] of her theme along with her first true fighting game appearance (she was patched in to ''[=IaMP=]'' and didn't have a theme or story mode).
* There's the final boss theme of Story Mode, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVQsi0ES6UY "Unknown X ~ Unfound Adventure"]], which while being suitably lighthearted, is also grand and fitting of a boss battle.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoW7pKD7Las This version]] is even grander.
** A surprisingly [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sh8jHgKkp2Y gentle arrange]] by Riverside.
* Suwako's Last Spell theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ga_Xh4iw9T4 "The Floating Objects in the Sky X"]], is also amazing for the final battle high above in the skies of Gensokyo.
* The game's opening/menu theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSluXtLcCyM "Did You See That Shadow?"]]. A wonderful remix of "Evening Sky" from [=SWR=]. And it's so dramatic! (Fitting for the game's scenario, though!)
* There's also one of the Story mode cutscene themes, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T81sNW5X2c4 "Our Hisou Tensoku"]]. It's quite a shame actually that it's only a cutscene theme. It would be even better for the final battle than "Unknown X ~ Unfound Adventure".
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bz2z3xMGFbM The full version]] is hands down the best piece in all the fighting games so far.
** And now apparently it's a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzdjWsluoh0 Giant Robot theme]] with 900% HotBlood added.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FX1QmcvpPsI Now with animation!]] Apparently the kappa have access to real-world entertainment, and are fans of ''Mazinger Z''.
** Swing Holic Band gave it a beautifully nostalgic feeling with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STIzw2RNa4g Hisoutensoku For Justice]].
** Then Sound Holic provides [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18Y6WNlXqR8 their vocal rendition of it]].
** And Ryu-5150, one of the most HotBlooded PowerMetal arrangers on the Touhou scene, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ao_iqczwqjY delivers the awesome in a big way.]]
* The staff roll theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrrBEXbhRLQ "The Eternal Steam Engine"]], sounds ''amazing'', and it's the first time you'll hear bagpipes in Touhou. ''[[EverythingsLouderWithBagpipes Bagpipes!]]'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SePb0zsdy7M "A Huge Shadow and A Tiny Conclusion"]] is basically a longer version of this remixed with "Oriental Sky of Scarlet Perception", double the awesomeness.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Double Spoiler]]
* The haunting [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oING_ik7sVc "Bell of Avici ~Infinite Nightmare".]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPqHEgswMBU ZUN's own remix]] from the CD "Unknown Flower, Mesmerizing Journey".
** And then we have SOUND HOLIC'S [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrBmYCWKW18 INFINITE WORLD]] which is so full of awesomeness, complete with a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6sSwkTQrdo PV]]
** If you're fond of hard electronic music, here is what [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGbQBNxyMOo Nekonotsuka did]] for "Bell of Avici".
** From O-Life Japan comes an [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfFmnz_pSDU uncluttered arrange]] that can only be described as "techno meets classical wrapped in folk".
** If soothing guitar and flutes is what you want, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDEKha6NhUo Forest306 has it covered]].
* The powerful [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJK_nBDTUj0 "Nemesis's Stronghold"]]. The circle 5150 offers us a good [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35OqXKnkw0U '80s style rock arrangement]].
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnLt7XubBGw "The Mystery in Your Town"]], a theme that's not only nostalgic in title, but also in nature.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPtsZ2ac1qI "Youkai Mountain ~ Mysterious Mountain"]] got a lighter, yet decent, remix.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Great Fairy Wars]]
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Bpq8FFN34E "The Refrain of the Lovely Great War"]], the stage 1 theme. It has an inspiring beginning, but has a touch of silliness, obviously. The original came in the CD that was included with the vol.2 of Strange and Bright Natural Beauty. Look in the supplementary material section for more information.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVuvfrCTN4M "Year-Round Absorbed Curiosity"]], the stage 2 theme, uses the main theme song as base. As silly as the other melodies, but this one has a badass touch. An interesting melody, indeed.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bD_LS6F-fik Sound Holic]] has a neat remix!
** セブンスヘブンMAXION's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_e2JxmtEu8 remix]], yell☆shine☆dance!!, comes off like the Three Mischievous Fairies themselves are singing it.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBRwmEBJrDo "Staking Your Life on a Prank"]], the boss theme for stages 1 and 2. It's gotta be real hard to make a theme that both sounds cute and sounds like a boss theme.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CElpZR-7iXA "A Midnight Fairy Dance"]], the stage 3 theme. This is a jazzy and rhythmic melody, with a menacing touch, indicating that you're near to the final confrontation. After which, you are invited to a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzNYPD6FbtU "Midnight Fairy Party"]] by [=WhiTECHNO=].
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yxlJIegvA0 "Great Fairy Wars ~ Fairy Wars"]], the final boss theme. Quite the epic tune, with just the right amount of silliness to remind us that these are ''faeries''.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1AFI5q9tYA "Loose Rain"]], the Extra Stage theme. This one has a dark, intense, and sinister feel to it, perfect for the prelude leading up to the fight against Marisa.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQzHcyZ2KSk "Magus Night"]], ''yet another'' epic Marisa theme.
--> '''Youtuber:''' It's like it's saying: "You're fighting ''Marisa''? What are you, ''stupid''? ...nevermind."
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQCHaZ5ivng MIDI Orchestral Arrange]], not really a remix but does sound a bit more "witchy".
---> '''Youtuber:''' Sounds a hell of a lot more sinister and elegant with orchestral instruments..."
** As usual, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUPgkSnYf4Q when things are remixed by dBu]], it can only get more awesome.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bmlj5c5NB64 Now IOSYS has remixed it.]] And it's AWESOME.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEJ_VRfI26g Rokugen Alice's metal version]] is made of yes and win.
** The one used in Touhou Sky Arena, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSu-TQruFG4 Sky of The Universe]] is one of the best songs in a game full of many good Touhou Vocal Remix.
** What do we get when combine both Ruse Rain and Magus Magic together? SOUND HOLIC's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=do-mQjx7XTA KIRISAME DRIVE]]. 377[[folder:Ten Desires]]
* ''Ten Desires''[='=] soundtrack has two "layers" to it: the normal versions, and the ''Spirit World'' versions, played when you enter the game's Trance Mode. Playing them both together [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gc2znTPAW2U makes the themes that bit more awesome]].
* The first stage's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQHnZB5IaDc "Night Cherry Blossoms of Dead Spirits"]] is strikingly beautiful, especially the piano. You'd only expect to hear a piece like this during the final stages.
%%** And Conagusuri presents [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eN53ZyuX4Ps Sakura Infinite Friendship]]. 381%%** dBu's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFy8JMdJ3xY Netherworld Sakura 0:00]].
* Yuyuko's new theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aj8cTUno4U4 "Ghost Lead"]], is very frantic but also a bit playful. It's also the first theme to have ZUN's trumpets return, reminding everyone that Yuyuko is powerful, but she's just messing around and isn't really a true threat anymore. Secret Messenger's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26-a2xzAG7Y Prologue & Silence]] turns the tune into a surprisingly melancholic yet uplifting piece.
* The second stage theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhkC8A5EkQ0 "Welcome to the Youkai Temple"]] has a nice spunky beat, perfect for the mischievous spirit theme of the game. O-life's version of this [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfgTTxqhOQ0 really highlights the irregular timing.]]
* The second boss Kyouko's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSqYvC4pJHU "Youkai Girl at the Gate"]], has nice music switches that fit a youkai of echoes.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPPRpN_A9Mc Normal/Spirit World Mix.]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEccAb4aPE0 Tomoya's piano version]] turns a cheerful piece into something sinister and mysterious.
* The third stage's theme deserves a mention. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zlm4GXApjQY "Let's live in a wonderful cemetary"]] sounds a bit strange when you first hear it, but fits surprisingly well and provides an enchanting atmosphere.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJChxsoa6IM Normal/Spirit World Mix.]]
** C-Clays turned "Wonderful Cemetary" into a ''country song'', "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxZVW5d_1JQ Sweet Home]]".
** SOUND HOLIC delivers once again with a delightfully energetic tune, "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mquJVHdfQDg Jive at the Graveyard]]".
* The third boss's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9w0Ro_2Zws "Rigid Paradise"]] is the perfect theme for new girl Yoshika Miyako, who just happens to be a stiffly {{Jiangshi}}.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujUmtjOhHeU Normal/Spirit World Mix.]]
** And what happens if you dial the exotic vibes of "Rigid Paradise" up to eleven? [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoyH9HHaZoY Egyptian Zombie]] is what happens.
** A Metal arrange, from the guys of Demetori: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuO-MYgJRDc Rigid Paradise ~ Dawn of the Dead]]. Powerful and interesting, to say the least.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrcd-S5LpMk This vocal arrange]] by IOSYS combines "Rigid Paradise" with Music/LadyGaga, and the result is perplexingly '''amazing'''.

** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMIYMmIoBlw TAMUSIC delivers as well]]. Nothing classic but still bloody awesome.
** From SOUND HOLIC comes a vocal rendition that is [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKZR9kOAZAs as diabolical as it is rocking]].
** Jerico has a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nP6PtZbOtpA very badass electro mix as well.]]
** And so, before we say [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgQ8sa0HPtQ "Adieu, to this Lively Graveyard"]] and move on to the next stage, Akatsuki Records would like to tell us the story about [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asjcH1Ndiec "The Spirit Puppet, Or Rather Her Love And Resuscitation"]], two covers of the same track that are so different, it's hard to believe they're by the same group.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hYvdJ1yS_U "Desire Drive"]], the Stage 4 theme, is an upbeat tune that will make you want to dance. Or shoot down fairies and spirits while flying at high speeds through an underground tunnel.
** It also translates to the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnR6Z2pX1pM PC-98 midi]] quite well.
** Floating Cloud's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdRDgPimiaY folk rendition]] turns the theme into something you ''really'' want to dance with.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ewJQ8BD2OQ The White Sea (白い海)]] from Yonder Voice's first piano/vocal album is absolutely beautiful and heartwrenching.
** Akatsuki Records kills it AGAIN with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtTYQuO1j6w Necromantic]].
* And speaking of Stage 4, Seiga Kaku's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uE50tKRscqs "Old Yuanxian"]], has a fun, fast paced rhythm, perfect for the [[DualBoss fight against her and Yoshika.]]

** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3R1Pv8aXHc Want some epic orchestrals?]] Hobby Atellier Carrot Wine is your group.
** From AQUASTYLE comes [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAjfBYYWBCQ another orchestral arrange]] that is as soulful as it is energetic.
* The Stage 5 theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzHDKnY3Jio "Dream Palace Great Mausoleum"]]. It's a more peaceful, soothing Stage 5 theme, but it's still a good theme. O-Life Japan's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pEQNmFrGsg orchestral remix]] also keeps that in mind.
* Mononobe no Futo's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POUxrKNkbA4 "Omiwa Legend"]]. Not as intense as Seiga's theme, but it's still quite boss-like.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geX6WWACgJE This remix of it by dBu]] adds a suitably mysterious and even more elegant feel to it.
** O-Life Japan presents a well-done [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZa0RjReQH8 traditional rendition]] that seems to come out from the ''Okami'' soundtrack.
** AQUASTYLE delivers again with a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAjfBYYWBCQ bombastic orchestral arrange.]]
* The Stage 6 theme [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPpwwPYgoAc "Starry Sky of Small Desires"]]. It's all DJ like, yet fitting for when you encounter Miko. As such, has much [[MemeticMutation UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ]].
** While not exactly a remix, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13J3s3Sd9W4 the piano works beautifully with the theme]].
** Many remixers are staying faithful to the source for this song. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llBD7ZRg6ew Jun.A makes the final stage sound even more epic]].
** And TAMUSIC brought out the emotional side of the theme in his [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEWRu-IM_fM version]] ''very well''.
* Toyosatomimi no Miko's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfWqoW3Es8g "Shoutoku Legend ~ True Administrator"]], starts off calm, then quickly picks up the pace and gradually turns into a song fitting of the final boss and ancient saint.
** Hachimistu-Lemon remixed it into [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBjbqtfMY-o True Desire]] while somewhat preserving the atmosphere of the original song.
** Music/{{IOSYS}} finally gives us an excellent remix, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIog0tyPRog Miracle Miko-tan is excellent, right?]].

* The NICE EX stage theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUGznlmZViM "Youkai Back Shrine Road"]].
* Mamizou Futatsuiwa's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye7gkpxRWik "Futatsuiwa from Sado"]], is very light, fun, and upbeat for an Extra Boss. Such a playful theme is fitting for what many believe to be a very goofy-looking Extra Boss, with very fun and... ''interesting'' spell cards.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-dzHDFhtLs Liz Triangle's version]] captures the playfulness perfectly, with lily-an's wonderful voice adding extra enjoyment.

* Marisa's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzhWfgZYXb8 "Magus Night"]], is an awesome arrange that trades the original's intensity for strings and piano.
* Ichirin gets a jazzy remix of her theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6GafUMbJcU "The Traditional Old Man and the Stylish Girl"]].
* Byakuren's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KE6zXXOGRzs "Emotional Skyscraper ~ Cosmic Mind"]] is fast-paced and somewhat relaxed.
* Futo combines many different cultures with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8EX936qhns "Legend of the Great Gods"]].
* Miko's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lK3T6gHN2U "Shotoku Legend ~ True Administrator"]] carries a similar intensity to the original.
* Nitori apparently took up the flute, as her theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STXKlHiEYTU "Akutagawa Ryunnosuke's Kappa ~ Candid Friend",]] shows.
* Koishi's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtYJFS1vyz0 "Hartmann's Youkai Girl"]], is just as mysterious and jumpy as she is.
* Mamizou has two awesome themes which both do the original justice:
** Her fake theme, an arrange of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHtb-yzgbSk "Futatsuiwa from Sado"]], plays when you battle her disguised as another character.
** Her real theme, however, is a new tune called [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWHzTT_WUrk "Futatsuiwa from Gensokyo"]], which plays when you battle her in her normal form.
* The theme for Hata no Kokoro, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siyvKSUWPOY "Lost Emotion"]], accurately portrays the finality of the battle and the personality of Hata no Kokoro. Bonus points for it also being the theme for her final boss fight. After all, [[CharacterArc this is her story]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMAA7Y0uCoQ This official remix]] was never used in game.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ug0A9UJFaN0 This rock remix]], absolutely amazing.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgPmJTI-fvw JacK the EmotioN ~Lost Desire~]], another rock remix.
** RD-Sounds's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_D7kiOR9fA "Heart Fabric Tower 「Shinkirou」"]], set to traditional rock, is a comedic retelling of the events of ''Hopeless Masquerade'', with the singer changing tones for every playable character featured in the game... [[SnubByOmission except Koishi]].
** "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0hCFlqdu8o Poker Face]]" by Music/{{Zytokine}} is a very atmospheric ElectroHouse remix of Kokoro's theme that manages to capture her character perfectly with itori's superb vocals.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8f7jzWDcMIg Iron Attack]] delivers a classic metal performance.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLM7Iy7Gc-0 This]] fantastic rendition of The Lost Emotion done by [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6PUM8uTWzU Prismriver Orchestra]] perfectly captures Kokoro's turmoil and, if you replay it at the right time, loops around itself perfectly.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtSAS0JkUVE Here's a Synthwave-arrangement]] of Hata no Kokoro's theme done by the criminally underrated artist [[https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5kZB6cUi3z7KnjkuC-qelA TheGoldenProof]].
* Twilight Frontier seem to have decided to put an incredibly badass song that most people will only hear a fraction of in every Touhou game they make. The Last Word theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1IOvgXuW3U Last Word Unleashed]] only ever plays for a few seconds and quite possibly exceeds even "Our Hisou Tensoku" in awesomeness.
* At the end of it all, the theme for the credits, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhXR36IT8DI "Officially-Sanctioned Twilight Newspaper"]], makes sure the game ends on a good note.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Double Dealing Character]]
* The title theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Jbo55_bXkE "Mysterious Exorcism Rod"]], has a foreboding yet whimsical tone to it that's very pleasing to listen to.
** Xi-on in particular has uplifted the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raoN8Lfg3jM piece rather quite well]].
** O-life Japan's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LZvh3ueaCc folk rendition]] is energetic as it is whimsical.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuOjV7qrSPc "Mist Lake"]], the stage 1 theme, has a light tune with a hint of resolve. Perfect for a fresh start to a new adventure. Kou Ogata of k-waves LAB created a short remix with an [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXnj3cH5xCE Irish touch]].
* Wakasagihime's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDpXhQSxpk8 "Mermaid From The Uncharted Land"]], blasts us with some [[AutobotsRockOut rocking metal]] before shifting to the more familiar repeating rhythm usually associated with stage 1 bosses. And trust dBu to come up with a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WN1vmgpwEFc rock arrangement]] that turns up its intensity, even with the unusual sort of instruments used.
* The stage 2 theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGZcOdNSF1s "Humans and Youkai Coming and Going at the Canal"]], has a vaguely mysterious feel to it. Rather fitting for when Sekibanki does her surprise head trick half-way through the stage.
* Sekibanki's actual theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mes5dyg8O3s "Dullahan Under the Willows"]], has very catchy metal segments along with bringing to mind a feeling of playfulness at some parts, and seriousness at others.
** Among the noteworthy arrangements of the theme is [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaNQnz3JhxQ this rock remix]] by Buta-Otome.
** From O-Life Japan comes a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnpPWd2SokA modern-traditional rendition]] that encapsulates the best of both music styles.
** Shibayan's vocal arrange [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBlLPxb7Etw "Tobidase! Bankikki"]] is surprisingly cute.
* The stage 3 theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ms8AdX3Uobo "Bamboo Forest of the Full Moon"]], has a very energetic and frantic feel to it, along with [[CallBack containing a portion of the piano for "Retribution for the Eternal Night" mid-way through.]] Here, have a fantastic [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NT8Lqa_Fxk piano arrange]].
* Kagerou's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oovNwcNpGUY "Lonesome Werewolf"]], has a very sinister sounding opening, which eventually gives way to an elegant segment of ZUN's signature trumpets. Candy & Jam ups the ante with an [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpXOeb7P9k0 orchestral rendition with a heightened sinister edge.]]
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fa3cgMLH6_o "Magical Storm"]] has a heavy but rhythmic feel to it. Combined with the lightning flashes in the background of the stage itself, and you have yourself a rather [[{{Pun}} electrifying]] stage 4 theme. And what conducts electricity? [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QisBa-B4ZvQ Metal.]]
* The Tsukumo sisters' theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scPrIAyhFro "Illusionary Joururi"]], is a gorgeous mix of modern and traditional instruments, perfectly fitting the two instrument tsukumogami.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkoBUe2Lwac TAM was here. Commence emotional music.]]
** Have some [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETwed68FNNE Crow's Claw]]!
** SOUND HOLIC's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nirFr_XGZ5Y "World of Tsukumo"]] combines both this theme and "Magical Storm" into an incredibly catchy techno-rock duet.
** RD-Sounds presents [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PyiyhvqnYk "Tsukumo Melody Tale"]], a traditional rock duet in which the singers playfully exclaim the beauty of music.
** Leave it to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfC8KPCWNMM O-LIFE.JP]] to deliver intricate interplays between western and traditionally Japanese instruments.
** A [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRWOfIRmeLg complextro arrange]] for a complex track.
* The stage 5 theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T40NnNyA6MA "The Shining Needle Castle Sinking In The Air"]], has a serene yet incredibly eerie feel to it. One could say that it's the calm before the storm for [[ThatOneBoss Seija's]] appearance.
** An amazing [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kSgUZcaJuw piano remix]] of the theme made it sound even more lonely and eerie.
** [=HertzDevil=] provides [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5m61QNoUkE a PC-98 instrumental arrange]].
* Seija's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCaexiaNWHA "Reverse Ideology"]], is incredibly fast-paced and mischievous sounding, suiting her [[BigBad chao]][[ManipulativeBastard tic]] and [[CommanderContrarian rever]][[InterfaceScrew sed]] nature.
** Similar to Koishi's theme, it also sounds nearly identical when [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEa3JiYselk played backwards]].
** And, as one could only expect from the Amanojaku's fan following, it didn't take long before [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=813GQ5i0j98 amazing remix-music]] met with CameraScrew in "死神×Resistance".
** Sound Holic [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02I8JyjSyfE saves the day]]!
** From the depths of Website/YouTube [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ah6IyeZMizg comes a peculiar arrange]] that wouldn't sound out of place in the ''1920s''.
** And just when you think you've heard it all, there's now a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVM18E06W8I freaky-fast rap remix]], courtesy of TAMAONSEN.
** You haven't seen anything yet. Check out Jerico's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6AFyR8Pf94 absolutely hardcore dubstep-electro remix of Seija's theme]], which includes a hard beat, an ominous choir, and a very villainous buildup.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhDQcYb6etU "The Exaggerated Castle Keep"]], the stage 6 theme, is calm, yet with a feeling of direness, containing a portion of "Little Princess"'s tune.
* Shinmyoumaru's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yI6v5HJCss "Inchlings of the Shining Needle ~ Little Princess"]], exudes a dignified and powerful aura for such a small person. As people often describe, her theme isn't about the heroines fighting her, it's about ''her fighting the heroine''!
** From the creator of the MIDI of Sekibanki's theme comes [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghnl3Lfu9c0 one for "Little Princess"]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwXSpyyf2wg Here, have a glorious PC-98 style arrangement]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Jy0Nfp7I98 Xi-on's orchestrated version]] is even better.
** And amongst all of the orchestral arranges comes Demetori out of nowhere [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gxQm71WTJA with an intense metal arrange.]]
* The extra stage theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eo41Xx8AaOA "Thunderclouds of Magical Power"]], has an ominous yet uplifting feel to it. And Odyssey's lyrics make the song downright [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8mlH9-giXs MENACING.]]
* Raiko's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfSbCg22OWw "Primordial Beat ~ Pristine Beat"]], is unique in that it heavily features percussion along with the usual instruments in ZUN's repertoire. And it ''works''.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6FuB6hdOis This duet arrangement]] mixes in some rocking guitar along with the drums.
** Komeiji Records gives us [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjsffKvIWB0 Pristine War Machine]].
** O-Life Japan gave us a version that goes [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrUH1Gpb1Y4 even heavier on the drums]]. And it is ''powerful''.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ArO7L00Ios Extra drums with a side of flute, anyone?]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohTqXifEFow GaMetal's cover]] provides a healthy dose of electric guitar, but the standout is the drum solo at just after the 3-minute mark simply for how much power it exudes.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95utw3jH36g "Magical Power of the Mallet"]], the ending theme, is an absolutely ''beautiful'' rendition of "Little Princess".
* The staff roll theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3gSh2o7gHo "Strange, Strange Instruments"]], is a simultaneously energetic and calm remix of Mysterious Exorcism Rod.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Impossible Spell Card]]
* The title screen theme [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-0hWC4HVqQ "Raise the Flag of Cheating"]] is more energetic than usual. The piano arrangement [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYaoqEm7Xls "Raise The Flag of Foul Play"]] by Komeiji Records adds a sense of fear. Best part? This remix was made [[MindScrew BEFORE the actual release of the game]].
* The stage 1 and 2 theme [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxlkVECWkoE "Cheat Against Impossible Danmaku"]] has a familiar melody in the beginning.
* Stage 3 and 4's theme [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJIVQrqvUms "Midnight Spell Card"]] has a "night rushing" feel to it.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8y0XnhRR_Q "Romantic Escape Flight"]], in stages 5-7, has a large amounts of flute and electric guitar in combo.
** As usual, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekKHr8OFZ50 k-waves LAB]] tunes it up into a worthwhile folk piece.
** If you like metal, you'll like [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=po5aTa-epJw Dominated fLIGHT]].
* Stages 8 to the Last Day has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAOJiDukZxM "Eternal Transient Reign",]] which has a neutral mood.
** That doesn't mean one can't make any [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqbAE6xjQEk serious renditions, though]].
** The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYuMK8wTuI4 classical remix]] by Unchiku Company mixes the playfulness with a bit of musical grandeur.
** Metal lover? [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5aK4Jsm3Eg Alex Yin]] has you covered.

[[folder:Urban Legend in Limbo]]
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bidQ3EvCrI "Occult à La Carte"]] brings occultism on the plate, with a dash of insanity and spookiness, and light-hearted fun.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VeKSXjBRX0 "Seven-Orb Collection Showdown"]] has an oriental, and otherwise ancient feel.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mV-b8s76GnM "Fair Scramble"]], the theme usually associated with Ichirin, is rather catchy, and suitable for a quick brawl on a night for telling stories.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLjp99esmK0 "Bell of Antipodes"]] immediately presents you with a fearsome urban legend.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7DI15alZjE "Bamboo Forest in Flames"]] is a theme that suits battles versus Mokou, and generally fighting it out with all one's scary might.
* For this game, Reimu uses an electronic remix of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LDlVSDiMIs Dichromatic Lotus Butterfly ~ Red and White]].
* Marisa gets a Jazzy remix of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbinUP3u_U8 Love-Coloured Master Spark.]]
* Ichirin gets a more upbeat remix of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGHFUfEA5qk The Traditional Old Man and the Stylish Girl.]]
* Byakuren's new remix of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSeJmWWRWbE Emotional Skyscraper ~ Cosmic Mind]] opts for a much more intense pace, fitting of her Occult attacks.
* Like Marisa, Futo also opts for a Jazz remix of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwREK31glRs Legend of the Great Gods.]]
* Miko rocks out with her new remix of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlwBI4PNrLE Shoutoku Legend ~ True Administrator.]]
* Nitori trades in her flute for trumpets in her new arrange of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78KFFTC-LI4 Candid Friend.]]
* Koishi's new Rock arrange of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCL9yQry_5k Hartmann's Youkai Girl]] captures the creepiness of Koishi and her Urban Legend.
* Mamizou goes for a Rock remix of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocJKp-cgL4s Futatsuiwa from Gensokyo]]. Then [=HertzDevil=] did an [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bahoJdqTsjw 8-bit version of this arrange]], which feels like something what would have become commonplace in a NES Konami game.
* Hata no Kokoro gets an awesome new arrange of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pYBRxiqG2I The Lost Emotion]].
* Fujiwara no Mokou jumps into the fray as a playable character with a chaotic remix of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukPCuDvqxYU Reach For the Moon, Immortal Smoke.]]
* It's certainly a feat to top Sukuna's theme [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnhMNwaB4wU Little Princess]] but this remix of it certainly does it.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZyiR7OeEAQ All]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsEr1XNfrD4 five]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aM3igpC1I8M early]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiFmW1VgFMQ pre-battle]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoWlXz-QPIE themes]] are nostalgic and tranquil.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8tmKbA79oQ This]] upload has Forms of Manifested Folklore unintentionally slower than usual, and it is markedly different.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjw6_Z6BG6A "Those Who Know the Truth"]] is urgent and eerie, fitting for the moment you meet the one who seems to be the mastermind...
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUYyv0tYrSE "Outside World Folklore"]] is eccentric, and sets the mood for speaking with the high schooler behind it all.
* Kasen enters the fray as both a playable character and a midboss with her theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fp8hxDtqmR0 Battlefield of the Flower Threshold]]. It also helps that this is the theme for the penultimate boss in Story Mode. The album has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B37Obklaa3w a slower arrange]] more fitting of Kasen's usual personality.
* Newcomer Sumireko Usami's theme [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2DrKruxJUw Last Occultism ~ Esotericist of the Present World]] captures the feel of the final battle in the cityscape of the Outside World. And then ZUN [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2m4IGi9PlXo remixed it]] for "Strange Creators of Outer World".
** BUTAOTOME grants us [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qP0kwPCsLo Two Cinemas]] for a feeling akin to a crazy dance.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5APjh4l_U8 An arrange]] by U2 from the album ''A Deeply Mystic Music Collection ~ Sumireko Usami and the Clubroom of Secrets''.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGieor0rLAY Karasu delivers a fantastic arrangement]] that expresses the earnest feelings of the lone high school girl.
* The ending theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEYTIjJkyZM "Each Ending"]] is quite beautiful. And so is the staff roll, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEge1nefugk "The Arcane is Revealed"]], solemn and honestly quite epic.
* From the [=PS4=] version:
** Reisen gets a remix of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uO_f7HC3AxA "Lunatic Eyes ~ Invisible Full Moon"]], arranged by [=BeatMARIO=] (the guy who did "Night of Nights") no less!
** For the final battle of Reisen's story, ZUN remixed "Unfound X ~ Unfound Adventure" into the even more intense [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSFRwdpZ6m4 "Unknown X ~ Occultly Madness"]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom]]
* The main menu theme [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjqMcIDHO0k "The Space Shrine Maiden Appears"]] sounds strange and fantastical, readying you for the journey to come.
** For something even more fantastical, how about a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iErMbDTqV5s funky dubstep piece]]?
** This [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUOwRCn6r6w house arrangement]] is equally fantastic, with dubstep beats mixing with traditional instruments.
* The first stage theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nbqy18y0DMo "Unforgettable, The Nostalgic Greenery]] has an alien feeling, reminiscent of the PC-98 days.
** From this, O-Lifel makes a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQ5YHLhHOh0 nice piece]] that captures the loveliness of the piece.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHWkzja3UBE This 8-bit rendition]] of the theme isn't half-bad, either.
* By 12 May (which is the ''second day'' after the demo release), there was already a well-done [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3K9glzbq3-k piano arrange]] by Komeiji Records of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WMQe60ikwI "The Rabbit Has Landed"]], the boss theme for the Stage 1 Boss, Seiran. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mc4Z0-G0nbo This 8-bit arrange]] was published on the same day as the demo release.
** Like techno with your jazz? [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wMi16cr2h4 Jericho's Law]] has your back.
** [=TatshMusicCircle=] serves an electric [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5hux5_AkgE METAL RABBIT]] with a surprising guitar accompaniment.
** Combining tango, waltz, and bossa nova is the amazingly upbeat and danceworthy [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9_mMpZCY7w Strawberry Tango]] by Ringing Volcano, which mixes this theme with September Pumpkin.
* Going to the secret base by the lake in the Youkai Mountain, we are treated to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmukQgLZRYU "The Lake Reflects the Pure Moonlight"]]. The heavy atmosphere of the theme is also present in this [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkC9cKKb01E 8-bit remix]].
* From the demo, it looks like ''Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom'' will be a ton harder than the other games. Not surprising, then, that [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DoXTZHAjYQ "September Pumpkin"]], only the Stage 2 boss theme, is awesome enough for a final boss battle.
** dBu provides an [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMq0q5lGYog interesting take]] to the mix, combining techno with traditional music in a fast-packed piece.
** Heres a nice one by [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNXOZzIidCI Jericho's Law]].
* The third stage in the Dream World brings [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loDQ5C-UtaI "The Mysterious Shrine Maiden Flying Through Space"]] and a sense of flying through fantasy.
* Doremy Sweet, the stage 3 boss, has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qcah1Tk2cn0 "Eternal Spring Dream"]]. It certainly sounds very dreamy. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6hmOsyJzVw Melodic Taste]], on the other hand, turns it into a bombastic arrangement worthy of an orchestra.
** On the other hand, if you want something to rock out then dBu [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjomvZe4OBE has you covered]].
** Would you like some [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqmaUWd_VZI techno and chiptune]] by PHOENIX Project with your dreams?
** Jericho's Law returns with their [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxQJjHmttUU classical-dubstep mix]] of the theme. ''Sweet Dreams''.
* The fourth stage theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYwul_WIvvs "Frozen Eternal Capital"]], lonely and cold as well as very mysterious. It really makes you wonder "What happened here?". It also bears a similar feel to Imperishable Night's stage 4 theme to tie in the lunar feel both games bore.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zqghv31tUbQ This]] orchestral arrangement from the circle Melodic Taste ironically conveys quite a bit of life as well as triumph and calm.
** If you like piano, then have a lovely [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aT02ldyyoc piano arrange]] by Aka Kyuketsuki.
* The theme of the fourth stage boss Sagume Kishin, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNGpuvEXh4g "The Reversed Wheel of Fortune"]] is strange and off-putting, and invokes a sense of power. Fitting, given she is a Lunarian with a terrible power.
%%** Shortly after, there was a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CovWhuHxYyA piano arrangement.]]
%%** Once again, Melodic Taste delivers with their orchestral piece, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuNpfjxzPF8 "Over Ambivalence".]]
* The stage five theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8Eg0wy_kDs "Faraway 380,000 Kilometer Voyage"]] is quite literally out of this world. [[OverlyLongGag And again]], trust Melodic Taste to remix it to yet [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjqQQxab8T4 another orchestral classic]].
* Clownpiece clowns around to her powerful, yet silly leitmotif [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwdRh8fOpLs "Pierrot of the Star-Spangled Banner"]].
** For a more dignified remix, [=CarrotWine=] provides a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzA70rXJIzk powerful orchestral arrangement]] to enjoy.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qju2-2smxro Melodic Taste]] has the same idea.
** One Youtuber played the tune [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gp6wFrpQYog on an actual accordion]], and it's ''magnificent''.
---> '''Youtuber:''' It's like this song was made to be played with this instrument.
** What would happen if you mix tango, swing jazz, classical tunes, and electronic mixes into a song? You'll get SWING HOLIC's amazingly energetic and head-bopping [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z423B0z1Dg0 CLOWNPIECE]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mhGUfRZDo4 WARNING!]] is a great remix. Funnily enough, the entire thing is rendered in {{Engrish}}.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNE0fi7XoBs This crazy hardstyle/hardcore]] arrangement will certainly wake you up.
** +TEK's arrangement of [[https://soundcloud.com/plrusek-chan/pierrot-of-the-star-spangled-banner?in=plrusek-chan/sets/phantasmagoria-of-f-m Clownpiece's theme]] from his third arrangement album: "Phantasmagoria of F.M." is simply sublime. Having a distinct inspiration on arcade shooters from the 90's, thanks to the FM Synthesis audio, it has a very peculiar sound that gets you pumping into the powerful beat.
** On the vocal side of shredding your face off, Sound Holic drops in with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlqjDboc_Lw 血月の心音]].
%%** Have a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lk3zHcYccI0 Eurobeat/Trance]] remix by [=LENK64=].
%%** As always, Demetori delivers with "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRvtSH1_H0w The Mad Piero Laughs.]]"
* Over the Sea of Tranquility, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auRm5UNfhPI "The Sea Where the Home Planet is Reflected"]], the final stage theme, perhaps the most beautiful and tragic ever composed. And while the original might be sad, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHFi8hUl63E this]] remix turns it instead into a ''triumphant'' march.
* Reprising the stage theme, the simple elegance, and straight-forward raw power of the final boss track; [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qV-ccQkW-0M "Pure Furies ~ Whereabouts of the Heart"]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSnTgNsFi1I Here]] is a piano-only version. As with everything piano-only it sounds a lot sadder and more tragic than the original which considering Junko's history is entirely appropriate.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MYNlmAVBuk An epic orchestra arrange]] by crescentia that starts low and slow, but eventually picks up its power without going overboard.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-LO-e39AhY Another orchestral]] arrange that goes full-power from the start and never lets up.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMF--_3kCE8 A techno arrange]] that will induce even more sweat than fighting against Junko herself on Lunatic difficulty would, while staying true to the "spacey" sound of the original.
** Yet ''another'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LNysg36hMI orchestra arrange]], this time going strong with the string intruments and powerful trumpets.
** It really says something about the song's sheer power when an [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkH_3Lb8iBM 8-bit Gameboy remix]] still sounds like a Pokemon Champion battle in terms of epicness.
** A beautiful orchestra-metal arrange with Chinese lyrics [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8j4oaYYKTg here.]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hQq0t0EuLg And now]], something to rock out to.
** One Youtuber changes the melody [[https://youtu.be/9CSjtE39Dkg into something somber and powerful]], slowly raising the emotions of tune into a beautiful, yet melancholic expression of Junko's rage and sadness.
** Toa joins Yuuhei Satellite with a techno-rock performance in "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERbRjDFPFbw Someone lying within my heart]]". Her vocals are so well-received, she got invited to a collaboration between the circle and Active [=NEETs=]' symphony, uplifting the song into a more solemn experience as the two circles provide both [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwMCYKeh6OE a vocal version]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEJK3iPSWfs an orchestral version]].
* The Extra Stage theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YKhiqA9L_U "A Never-Before-Seen World of Nightmares"]], sets an ominous yet energetic tone for the long and difficult road ahead, as well as the dreaded rematch with Doremy.
* Hecatia Lapislazuli's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A93Tk5X21N0 "Pandemonic Planet"]], has a mischievous and chaotic tone to it. Partially through the song, there's a pause followed by a more dramatic and energetic melody--which usually coincides with the first time Junko hops in for her turn during the battle.
** And there's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vx7gpCWDflQ an arrangement]] that starts out as baroque and becomes lovely metal.
** And [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0JdGy28P7s an epic duet of an electric guitar and a violin]].
** Here's an [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRyPhaQRGq8 orchestral arrangement]] that does a great job conveying the feeling of fighting one of the most powerful beings in the series.
** This rocking [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dziFRSwVC9U vocal cover]] by AbsoЯute Zero. Rute's singing voice mixes well with the guitar and synth combo for a fun and intense remix. When translated, the lyrics are awesome too, effectively being BreakThemByTalking in a musical form from Hecatia's point of view, basically calling out her opponent (presumably Sanae due to using her "Freaky T-Shirt weirdo" quote) as completely deluded.

[[folder:Antinomy of Common Flowers]]
* Eientei has a rocking new theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vVjDMzWhGQ Corridor that Goes On for Eternity]].
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUBsjQH5ZF4 Mushroom Waltz]] encompasses Kourindou with a jazzy atmosphere.
* Reimu's stage theme is the triumphant return of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1ZGzmM2v-Y The Ground's Color is Yellow - Primrose]] now with a guitar and flute backing up the instrumentation.
* "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UJezh2ZMAA Immortal Red Soul]]", which plays in the Bamboo Forest, will have you rocking out to it as you duke it out. Interestingly enough, it seems to sound like a mix between "Last Remote", parts of "Bamboo Forest in Flames" and the Franchise/PowerRangers theme.
* The new remix of Sumireko's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Is1ilQkBLg8 Last Occultism ~ Esotericist of the Present World]] swaps the dramatics of the original to a much more playful piece that incorporates both ghostly and electronic noises, fitting for a modern high school girl who is obsessed with the occult.
%%* The jazzy arrange of Tenshi's theme, "Wonderful Heaven", remixed by the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8At3fqoMDc Tokyo Active NEETS]]!
* Yukari's boss theme [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Em_TL17-kyI The Yorimashi Sits Between Dream and Reality ~ Necro-Fantasia]] which takes cues from both Charming Dominion, Necro-Fantasy, and of course Necrofantasia to make a foreboding remix that perfectly illustrates the mystique and power of the Youkai Sage.
* Yukari brings back the ominous and chaotic [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-nUb0Hpf6w Night Falls ~ Evening Star]], this time taking cues from the fan remix heard in ''Concealed the Conclusion'' and dialing up the psychedelic factor.
* "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e28gguOW_zM Tonight Stars an Easygoing Egoist (Live ver.) ~ Egoistic Flowers]]" the boss theme against the Yorigami sisters, a nearly 4 minute ballad performed live in-universe by the Prismriver Sisters and Raiko and incorporates the musical styles of each for a song so energetic that the track is backed by the cheers of the concert attendees.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOIw39thvOM Ready to have your faces torn off?]] Demetori have arrived.
** Or if you want a vocal version, try this glorious example from Yuuhei Satellite, titled [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xx7AM192j0g "If You'll Embark Towards Zero"]].
** The [[https://youtu.be/TJgRlTJhToA 17.5 version]] has a distinct Arabian vibe to represent the sisters trying to be oil barons.
* Tenshi is back and has brought both her [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upnC-mIUIno battle theme]] and her [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1i-4Hrxkfz0 pre-battle]] theme back with her. But not before giving the former a catchy jazzy remix for this game while the latter gets the former's heavenly style.
* The ending theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gG02kzIya4 Floating with the Tide]] is a beautiful melancholic piano tune. Thus ends this incident of flawless possession.

* Stage 1 has our characters flying to the exhilarating tune of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nt3kUp1qAoM "A Star of Hope Rises in the Blue Sky"]].
* Eternity Larva's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhmYiP2vDK4 "A Midsummer Fairy's Dream"]], is incredibly intense, especially for a Stage 1 fairy boss.
* Flying over the autumnal part of Gensokyo, the cheer of the previous theme changes to the melancholic [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9xdMzUTBsw "Autumn Winds on Youkai Mountain"]].
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFtRP5enYAE Deep-Mountain Encounter]], the theme for the Stage 2 boss Sakata Nemuno has struck a particular chord with the fandom for its sinister intro followed by its heroic main tune.
* Heading back to the Hakurei Shrine, we are treated with the aptly named [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tn3AJDX7aSY "Swimming in a Cherry Blossom Colored Sea"]], the Stage 3 theme. From this, circle Lowlands Blossom created their own orchestral take,[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cA2yBWxHmr0 "The Mystical Turn of Seasons"]]
* Aunn Komano adds to the musical repertoire with the appropriately divine-sounding [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qw9gNU0ZMX4 "A Pair of Divine Beasts"]]. A beautiful [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnUq8Ubn8ow piano arrange]] further adds an extra shine.

* For Stage 4, we are treated to the wintry [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxTr51RmEjE "Illusionary White Traveler"]]. It starts with a melancholic tone, but quickly switches to an upbeat one. Fitting for a winter that's taking place in summer.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfS5EeXWiOQ "The Magic Straw-Hat Jizo"]] is an unexpectedly powerful theme for Narumi Yatadera, the Stage 4 boss. Jerico's Law has arranged the track in big beat-style in a manner that [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5k0AoJXTy1I cranks the power levels up to eleven]].
* The Stage 5 theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Rh9x95quvk "Does the Forbidden Door Lead to This World, or the World Beyond?"]] is as eerie as the title is long.
* The dual bosses of Stage 5, Satono Nishida and Mai Teireida, present themselves with the cacophonous-sounding [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdsAE6gwoyo "Crazy Backup Dancers"]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S76XA2QedGk Reversed piano sounds]] are particularly appropriate for this pair.
** And if you like Russian Hardbass club music, you'll like [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5g_MRPJXtaI "Crazy Slav Dancers"]] by [=Lenk64=].
** Akatsuki Records has [[https://youtu.be/o6zvgL4sY18 Trance Dance Anarchy]], both catchy and creepy.
** Eons Awake's [[https://soundcloud.com/eonsawake/battling-the-crazy-backups Battling The Crazy Backups]] treats us to a "bizarre drumstep/metal hybrid" that brings out the chaos of the original theme by good usage of dischords and distorted sounds.
* Stage 6 greets us with the ominous and atmospheric [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIJVo0T676k "Into the Backdoor"]].
* At last, the final boss faces us with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTlyTBP3hS0 "The Concealed Four Seasons"]], which contains hints of Okina Matara's true power.
** Nana Takahashi and SOUND HOLIC obviously wouldn't let any boss theme slide without a rocky eurobeat remix, so they turned this theme into the powerful [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mbtk45j6rc "WORLD DOMINATION"]].
** Akatsuki Records, for their part, composed [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_wk1yGsgMg "METAMORPHOSIS"]] as a magnificent celebration to the mysterious and secretive hidden god. Sing! Dance! Keniyasahanam!
** [=Lenk64=]'s [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTGa8xQLrbw arrange simply called "Concealed"]] blends the Metal chords with heavy synths for a very high-energy yet emotional take on the theme.
* The Extra Stage plunges us back to the eerie world of the back-doors with the equally eerie [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoglwNF1ZJw "No More Going Through Doors"]].
* The Extra Boss theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXu23arH36Q "Hidden Star in All Seasons"]] blazes in powerful glory as Okina Matara returns and shows her true power as one of the Sages of Gensokyo.

* The first week's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_z4nn_5yU8 Lucid Dreamer]] is rather otherworldly and somewhat off-putting.
* The third week's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yvhYbCTkyk Nightmare Diary]], makes you feel as if you're stuck in nightmare upon nightmare with no escape.

* The sounds of animal spirits' harshness and feral nature as conveyed by the title theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ILR4Nmhbxk "Unspeaking Beast Spirits".]]
* Stage 1 brings the melancholic and eerie yet pleasant [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_a8O-0yJ-U0 "The Lamentations Known Only by Jizo".]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bNLB0H-Uhg Lowlands Blossom's rendition]] brings out the majesty of the piece.
* Eika Ebisu's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaCmSJGK7mA "Jelly Stone"]] lets it be known that while she may be just be a carefree stone-stacking child god, she is not to be trifled with. Or so the mood of the track suggests. And trust Website/YouTube to make a banging [[http://youtu.be/gKZ9mqkoVIo DnB]] and [[http://youtu.be/Jys07LDQFJE 8-bit NES Cover]] in record time.
* Through stage 2 and the Sanzu River we are treated to the awesome eeriness of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJl8-uT5oio "Lost River"]].
* Urumi's theme [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Xjzyw-Q5_A "The Stone Baby and the Submerged Bovine"]] is a dark and heavy track that shifts into a strange lightness. Fitting for a devilish being like her.
* Stage 3 gives us the quirky [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePzB2RTXtWk "Everlasting Spider Lily"]] as we cross the border to Hell.
* Crazy time signatures and chickens clucking in Kutaka's fun track [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaNGMQyuL6w "Seraphic Chicken"]].
* The Stage 4 theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6quAOBCqEM Unlocated Hell]], is a dramatic song that conveys the dire urgency of the heroines' quest as they fly through Hell.
* Yachie's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgunO56ONMA "Tortoise Dragon ~ Fortune And Misfortune",]] is a powerful draconic theme for one of the heads of the Beast Kingdom.
* The Stage 5 theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KoJxo9mMvA "Beast Metropolis"]], is oddly tranquil for this late in the game, but with a dark undercurrent that reminds the player they are ''not'' somewhere safe.
* Mayumi, the stage 5 boss, has [[https://www.youtube.com/watchv=R7PeyXIW5zw "Joutounin of the Ceramics",]] a hectic theme for the confrontation with the BigBad's second-in-command.
%%* Akatsuki Records and their vocalist Stack give Mayumi her battle cry: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3j1IhPRFs0 "HANIPAGANDA".]]

* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0VYKbTSxu0 Entrusting this World to Idols ~ Idolatrize World]], Keiki Haniyasushin's theme, cannot get more final boss-sounding with its menacing and epic intro telling you [[OhCrap you're very very screwed]] facing the idolmaker god in the skies above Primate Garden.
** Yuuhei Satellite made this theme even better with the help of senya's vocal and Iceon's emotional electronic arrange, titled [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-iSqu2o6h4 "Unfilthed Euphoria"]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ff71Rc--QmY This vocal arrange]] from Pizuya's Cell features a structure and tone being nigh-identical to "Gurenge" from ''Manga/DemonSlayerKimetsuNoYaiba''. Not only that, but the circle also made a stunning 360-degree music video to accompany the song.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVtkk8vyXHs This trumpet cover]] is amazing in every way.
* The Extra Stage theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fjny1bxfyOA&t=107s "The Shining Law of the Strong Eating the Weak",]] lets you know that a very strong being has appeared in hell itself.
* Saki Kurokoma's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRdXeRkijZI "Prince Shoutoku's Pegasus ~ Dark Pegasus",]] is a fun old western theme that also emphasizes how powerful and rowdy Saki is.

* Both of Yuuma's themes, [[https://youtu.be/Y_pT1aM19yE "Memento of an Avaricious Beast"]] and [[https://youtu.be/MbFmgivBrAg "Memento of All Organisms ~ Memory of Fossil Energy"]] fits the high stakes of facing off against the third animal leader herself and particularly incorporates parts of ''Wily Beast''[='=]s Unlocated Hell theme.
* This game's remix of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXaGm6-bTTk "Walking the Streets of a Former Hell"]] is catchy, laid-back, and makes great use of traditional Japanese instruments.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Unconnected Marketeers]]
* The title theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6qtoW5myQ0 "A Rainbow Spanning Gensokyo",]] is one of the calmest title themes in the series, perfectly fitting this game's lighter tone.
* The Stage 3 theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-i7ru2DAt0 "The Perpetual Snow Of Komakusa Blossoms",]] is one of the happiest and most upbeat themes in the series, mostly due to being one of the few Touhou songs in a major key.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JsGRqrIZJ54 Komakusa Jazz]] by Broken Moon is a wonderful, mellow arrangement of this theme. It captures the same feelings of the original stage 3 theme perfectly.
** [[https://youtu.be/d7SAFgIhGhk Here's]] a mashup with [[Franchise/LoveLive "Snow Halation"]]. The similarities between the two songs allow them to mash up smoothly.
* Sannyo's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uyv-1V8Nm0 "Smoking Dragon"]], is shockingly intense and climactic for a third boss theme, even using the "Theme Of Eastern Story" leitmotif for a lot of its melody. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=norJImlyrJE Roar, Eternal Flame!]] by Karasu turns this song into a really good symphonic metal piece. It feels lighter than the boss theme, yet still epic at the same time.
* The Stage 4 theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_uWMfmuQLw "The Obsolescent Industrial Remains"]], uses guitar and flute to great effect to create the feeling of traveling through a mineshaft. Maritsumi has a good arrangement of this theme called [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqoAY3_zU7E Industrial Remains]]; it's an electronic instrumental piece with drum and bass elements. It reflects the same sense of calmness seen in the original, while also adding a hint of danger. The violin part is also good.
* Misumaru's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtRzp8O_Olo "Ore from the Age of the Gods"]], has a steady intensity combined with mystery to reflect the fact that you're battling a very old god.
* The Stage 5 theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qttE17B3LtY "The Long-Awaited Oumagatoki"]], sets the atmosphere as the late evening of the stage with the sun shining under a red sky transitions to the beautiful night sky of the stage's latter portion.
* Megumu's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viGlmdmOFY8 "Starry Mountain of Tenma"]], is an impressive-sounding and bombastic, yet mysterious track for one of the proudest and most cunning of tengu. Very fitting for a night under the stars. Login Records deliver a euphoric hardstyle banger [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Bnc1AiW6h8 called "Nebula".]]
* The Stage 6 theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZamWDSwqyPk "Lunar Rainbow",]] is a stunningly beautiful buildup to the final boss with some insane piano riffs. It's also the first Stage 6 theme since "Ten Desires" to not use the final boss's leitmotif. Maritsumi is back again with another great drum and bass arrangement, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3TPnOdS8Rw Luna Rainbow]]. It captures the same feeling as the original stage theme, but at a slightly more upbeat pace.
* Chimata's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Udn3r030Wic "Where Is That Bustling Marketplace Now ~ Immemorial Marketeers"]] is one of the most experimental final boss themes, jumping between melodies at a frantic pace befitting the game's chaotic final battle.
** Chocofan made a great electronic arrangement, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtQS8fuOFks LunaRainbow~marketeer]], released only a day after the game's official release! The cheering (or choir?) samples at the start are magnificent, and the vocals are nice as well.
** Chimata's theme is a FANTASTIC blank slate for various kinds of music as [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P18TWO5kTlE these]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCVZREypy_c three]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ib2sQffUl-8 arrangements]] prove. ZUN outdid himself yet again.
* The Extra Stage theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uV-CxxDpnqA "The Great Fantastic Underground Railway Network"]], amps up the tension by using most of the game's prominent instruments.
* Momoyo's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiGYjSW6dZk "The Princess Who Slays Dragon Kings"]], is one of the most upbeat extra boss themes in the whole series with a triumphant chorus that signals the end of the game proper.
** Chocofan made another good arrangement, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=332pOfNxHio Mining & Eating]], that sounds somewhere between rock and Eurobeat. It feels like you want to drift to it, and it's very catchy as well.
** Clumsy Record has a great hardcore techno arrangement, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UFaVzF4Sxw Break Centipede]]. It feels like it'd go hard at a rave.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost]]
* Ran's return to the main series is celebrated with a modern, frantic yet still mystical arrangement of her PCB extra stage theme in the form of [[https://youtu.be/stewaWWJugs Spiritual Domination ~ Who done it!]]
* Yachie comes in swinging with a frenzied rendition of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9X7GWpHBzs "Tortoise Dragon ~ Fortune and Misfortune",]] which features an epic choir to signify the matron of the Kiketsu family stepping in personally to prevent her plans from being overturned in the chaos of the incident.
* Son Biten, the (alleged) reincarnation of Sun Wukong, soars into the fray with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SiX4hzlbyU "Tiny Shangri-La"]], a powerful, nostalgic theme with distinctly Chinese elements. This track also is the first to use the erhu as a lead instrument, which enhances the feeling of facing a legendary and wise sage. Even if the story is fabricated.
* Enoko's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeswhKNw8DU "A Brave and Leisurely Beast",]] carries both bite and a strange wistfulness in an otherwise upbeat and emotionally charged package.
* The beautiful Hisami Yomotsu brings wistfulness with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOz6g8jf1mE "The Path to Yomi Where None Turn Back"]]. The melancholy of this track is equally matched by its frantic energy, almost like having reached the point of no return which you can never escape from.
* Chiyari's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QARAjy8CBWw "Vampiric Cryptid Chupacabra"]], is a sinister track with a peculiar cadence for a monstrous person who only concerns herself with lounging around feasting on blood. Despite that, the track has a weirdly melodic and almost beautiful feeling at times.
* Zanmu Nippaku, the final boss and new resident of Hell, gets a grand theme in [[https://youtu.be/YikgHSnYiFE The Deviants' Unobstructed Light ~ Kingdom of Nothingness]], which features the unusual element in a ZUN track of a tribal-sounding vocal that cries periodically through the track, complementing the dark instrumental.
