[[folder:[=EarthBound=] Beginnings (Mother 1)]]
* The ''Mother'' games' signature song: "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBbRJoHTJAM Pollyanna (I Believe In You)]]".
** As far as the actual in-game versions go, they aren't too shabby; ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2w6siYk_Ge0 Mother]]'', ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6UrOCDiNbE Earthbound]]'', ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PhzDkGdGPY Mother1+2]]'', and ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TXsCvcV5eo Mother 3]]''.
** Also the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGB1e9BABNM Smash Bros. version]]. Definitely one of the better remixes from ''Melee''.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giuG9dT0ltE Here]]'s an acoustic and flute cover with vocals. The singing is even better than the original, slowing down the tempo making for a rather soothing rendition.
** And yet another [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jotF8H26nE cover]], this one with an acoustic jazz flavor, also incorporating flute. Primarily taking Melee's version as inspiration, it keeps close to the tune while adding some variations of it's own.
** Yet another [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OebZ5HwdPs jazz remix]], but mixed with funk and its own fantastic vocal track with two vocalists.
* The ''VideoGame/EarthBoundBeginnings'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5_R4WMBZjg title theme]], also called "Mother Earth" or "Time Passage", is a surprisingly tender, emotional track for the title theme of a [[UsefulNotes/NintendoEntertainmentSystem NES]] game, and its beautiful combination of warmth and melancholy deftly sets the tone for the story to come.
* Snowman, aka the Winters theme appeared in ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZ2CY2BrQX4 MOTHER/EarthBound Beginnings]]'', ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjVx2FVENJ4 MOTHER 2/EarthBound]]'', ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UH8JL_jGS_w MOTHER 3]]'', was [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M60tdB383ZM remade]] for ''MOTHER 1+2'', appeared in a remixed form on the ''MOTHER'' soundtrack (which was an incredible album considering it was more than just a BGM-rip) and of course has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1Md2ODg-0M the obligatory Brawl remix]] which makes it even more haunting and beautiful.
%%* [[http://starmen.net/mother1/music/26%20-%20MOTHER%20-%20Roving%20Tank.mp3 Rovin' Tank!]] from the first game.
* The awesomely romantic [[http://starmen.net/mother1/music/30%20-%20MOTHER%20-%20All%20That%20I%20Needed%20Was%20You.mp3 All That I Needed (Was You)]].
* "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhhy5sylSD8 Maybe now you have figured it out, that's what bein' friends is all about!]]" ([[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TF8waW3nXo And the game version, as well.]])
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrtM4onLQ1I Take a melody, simple as can be...]]
** Also, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7S0aQEfUX4 the equivalent song in the sequel]].
** See also the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3nch-wmXqM song]] in ''Mother 3'' which combines the two melodies above and the Love Theme.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNyt7Sv-7b0 Show me the wisdom of the world...]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_arLw3I2QI Here's a great string orchestral version.]]
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlSJmqmwoII Versus Giegue]], the final boss theme, is nothing but a screeching DroneOfDread. It is used to rather great results, though, as it perfectly captures the tense atmosphere of the game's final battle and makes it all the more powerful when the aforementioned Eight Melodies kick in.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26D1fHpy0hM Fallin' Love]]. It's...beautiful. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOUKQLbWlbs This]] is an awesome remix that twists the melody into something new.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZknAIYHCa6w The Twinkle Elementary theme]]. Which was then remixed into [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=en5MpP4Wnhg the file select theme from the sequel]]. And was then made even ''more'' awesome in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJ7VuVx5oZs the credit crawl for the Game Boy Camera]].
%%* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-rwgE38ZQs Dangerous Foe.]]
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1k9h1e22VwA The relaxing Magicant]] theme from ''[=EarthBound=] Beginnings''. Then ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosForNintendo3DSAndWiiU'' gave us [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHzYs162HSk this spellbindingly beautiful remix,]] the orchestration taking the catchiness to new heights. For the icing on the cake, the bridge contains a condensed violin cover of the Eight Melodies.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIXsg_wxf5c The factory theme]] used for Sweet's Little Factory and Duncan's Factory. Very, very eerie...
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNCNz7w96sY Paradise Line,]] like all music for forms of public transportation in the ''Mother'' series, sounds awesome and catchy and is the only public transportation theme in the series to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hcgZK-jgTE receive an equally as awesome vocal track.]]
* The haunting theme that plays at [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nc83W2Hrsk Mt. Itoi]], an ominous theme filled with horns and {{Scare Chord}}s that befits one of the hardest final dungeons in JRPG history. The GBA port's inferior audio quality ironically makes it [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q8I5qTZ6sM WAY better]] than the Famicom/NES originals!
* The intense, fastpaced beats of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUVW1kHI1vE Roving Tank]] fit perfectly for the adrenaline rush of driving a tank.

[[folder:[=EarthBound=] (Mother 2)]]
* [[http://starmen.net/mother2/music/004-%20Earthbound%20-%20Title%20Screen.mp3 If the game's title screen has an epic jingle, you know you're in for a ride.]]
* [[http://starmen.net/mother2/music/003-%20Earthbound%20-%20The%20Evil%20Giygas%20Attacks!%20(Part%202).mp3 This ambient track]] is a brilliantly evil and threatening opening to the game, featuring loud, distorted brass, bassy percussion, and (presumably) the screams of terrified people fleeing Giygas's wrath. It's also listed on the [[NightmareFuel/{{Mother}} the game's Nightmare Fuel page]], and for ''good reason''.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oa_GzFRmpc The music used in the battle against Giygas]] in the "Devil's Machine" starts out like a throwback to traditional 8-bit RPG battle music, then unexpectedly erupts into thrash metal. The unique instruments and the sudden intensity perfectly encapsulate the situation - you're fighting an alien menace, and he wants you ''gone''.
** A simple but effective [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yS25AepodK0 Thrash Metal remix]] that'll get your blood pumping. Unlike a lot of other remixes, this one keeps the tempo in both the fast and slow parts accurate.
** A couple of Japanese guys gave it rap lyrics in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-u3B62pYRnw this vocal remix]]. ''SPARK SPARK SPARK SPAAAARK''...
* One of the beautiful ending themes to ''Earthbound'', known as [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwHZwvTdnPI Smiles and Tears]].
** "I miss you."
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=picvZ3R5z0w Here]] is a beautiful rendition on piano, perfectly covered.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QcnI9EXUlI Good Friends, Bad Friends.]] All the best songs combined into an amalgam of awesome.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxhy7PIwsxc The beautiful Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U remix]], which also has the original Eight Melodies mixed in for good measure.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIZVQxcFW7A Because I Love You]] or even the remixed version which plays [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvBT1Cspwss in Fourside]].
** Even better is [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2yklqn0Ce4 the remix]] for ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosMelee''.
** Or [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hdu--h3uFWM the version]] from the ''Mother 1+2'' soundtrack.
** Or even [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoIGw5mNqHU this version]] with LYRICS. Your heart will melt.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYb9kSCkjE8 Giygas's battle "music"]] that plays from his second form onwards. Insanely creepy and way ahead of its time, this Music/{{Merzbow}}-esque [[{{Ambient}} Dark Ambient]][=/=]HarshNoise backdrop sounds like something from ''Silent Hill''. Certainly not the kind of music you expect from a final boss fight in a JRPG. Those death cries over the static set in musical tone were one of the most jaw-dropping death scenes of the generation.
* For some 1950's rock 'n' roll goodness, you have a choice for the 'New Age Retro Hippie' battle theme from the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ps3tJ6dFmKE first]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mo8rU7VjJ9Y second]] games, and 'Rock and Roll' (either [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uVECeqZZaQ 'Mild']] or [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndY3sNdTzjM 'Spicy']]) from ''Mother 3''.
%%* [[http://starmen.net/mother2/music/060-%20Earthbound%20-%20Paula_s%20Theme.mp3 Paula's Theme]], a remix of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQqipQvtz7w Youngtown]] from the first game.
* [[http://starmen.net/rockcandy/boundtogether/ Bound Together]]; "48 songs Nearly 3 hours of music 8 bonus songs including demos and alternate takes the VGFrequency radio show from October 29th which featured the debut of Bound Together." Download it and give it a listen, If you have any love for ''[=EarthBound=]'', it ''will'' take you back. Also [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXro1PFCC8E Mustin's vocal version of the Flying Man theme]] from said album.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmTs4ZFXvlM Two]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMiEZ7AvUD4 themes]] associated with The Runaway Five, for jazz goodness. As well as a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-BqakRd64c vocal arrangement]] made by Music/{{Hyadain}} himself.
* The sublimely groovy [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-iZopf7POc Sanctuary Guardian]] boss theme is an absurdly chill remix of ''[=EarthBound=] Beginnings''[='=] main battle theme.
%%* On the subject of boss themes, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmuYSU0ghKU Otherworldly Foe]].
%%* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQYSPtfirLM Hi Hi Hi]].
%%* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D20dF5Ao1mE Kraken. Of. The. Sea.]]
* How about [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XRNibspon0 the hotel music]] in Threed? Sounds like the hotel is having a stroke...
* TheVeryDefinitelyFinalDungeon has ''extremely'' fitting music. HellIsThatNoise, thy name is [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiUmTUSbq0w the Cave of the Past theme.]] Would you believe it's entirely composed of a pitch-shifted sample of the first 3 seconds of Music/TheBeachBoys [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWR_qL_mxo0 Deirdre]]?
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNGY_fvXUCY The Onett theme.]] A ridiculously ear-wormy theme for a wonderful first town.
%%* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFU6zwV47Q4 Battle against a Machine]].
%%* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsRePOnduNA Moonside]] [[SugarWiki/SweetDreamsFuel Swing]].
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjU6JgZ7ciE This theme that plays in Threed]] is calm, cheerful, and upbeat, a sharp contrast to the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfFbgMklJGM bizarre and creepy theme]] that plays while the zombies are in charge.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5n_l7QvSPU This theme]] is equal parts warm and [[TearJerker saddening]]; it sounds exactly like the nostalgic sensation of coming back to visit your mom after a long time, which is exactly what the song is used for in the game.
%%* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jT50gxC-dU Flying Man.]]
* [[http://starmen.net/mother2/music/027-%20Earthbound%20-%20Enjoy%20Your%20Stay.mp3 The hotel theme]] is a short, but surprisingly emotive song.
* [[http://starmen.net/mother2/music/110-%20Earthbound%20-%20Bazaar.mp3 The Bazaar theme]] is an enrapturing Arabian-styled tune.
* The surprisingly catchy [[http://starmen.net/mother2/music/113-%20Earthbound%20-%20Pyramid.mp3 Pyramid theme]], also with some Arabian influences.
* These [[http://starmen.net/mother2/music/107-%20Earthbound%20-%20Sailing%20to%20Scaraba.mp3 two]]/[[http://starmen.net/mother2/music/108-%20Earthbound%20-%20The%20Voyage%20Continues.mp3 themes]], playing respectively before and after the Kraken fight, is a soothing sea shanty that'll make you bob in your seat.
* If you can't yet get enough of the Runaway Five jazz goodness, check out [[http://starmen.net/mother2/music/092-%20Earthbound%20-%20Get%20on%20the%20Bus.mp3 this]] theme.

%%* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3blb4Edg2fo "Unfounded Revenge" (the Fierce Pork Trooper's boss music)]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgVDpkCGIDY "Smashing Song of Praise" (the Steel Mechorilla's boss music)]]. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70CT6m4VGGs They're in]] ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosBrawl'' for a reason.
* Hell, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiYVk2iSoZg "Isn't This Such A Utopia?!"]] and the ''Super Smash Bros. Brawl'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiC6v4dCcxA version, "You Call This a Utopia?!"]], are Creepy Music.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgaH4MSiX5Q "F-F-Fire!"]]. The ROM Hack "Mario Must Die" has this as its [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tc9wAI7OosU World 1-2 theme]], a red hot cavern full of boiling lava.
%%* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSCiiDyhOuc "Mr. Batty Twist"]] begins with, of all things, a ShoutOut to the ''Series/Batman1966'' series theme.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDhzvT62zcI "Ode to Ancestors: 8th Movement"]] works as a SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome, since it puts several well-known pieces of classical music together. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9I8IEc3nts "Family Matters: 2nd Movement"]] also works for the same reason.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoTot_F51XA "Porky's Porkies"]] is a bizarre, yet supremely awesome, 8-bit track, used for the battle against the Mecha-Porkies.
** While not complete, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nfk0g9nLJsw this guy's]] remix probably counts as well.
** By the same token, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHNtFFayxXo that little song]] that plays when DCMC comes to the rescue. Surprisingly good, considering it's something most people probably won't hear all the way through.
* One Word: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NnbzvRHa8U "Mother!?"]] As if Chapter 6 of ''Mother 3'' wasn't poignant enough, this song really drives it into absolute TearJerker territory.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WrdDkdQucc "Sunflowers and Illusions"]] is especially tragic yet hauntingly beautiful.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZ1Z6gz7HwA "Dry Guys"]] and its faster remix [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wowoX4_pnqA "Even Drier Guys"]]. Its whimsical and slightly melancholy tone coupled with an accordion and an excellent piano solo captures the top quality standard for music in the game as well as the tone of the story.
%%* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3W-ytBntG1E "A Letter to You, Honey"]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9bF0D5nkVI "Letter From You, My Sweet"]] pull off the same effect.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26VgJfbMQTI "Run, My Dog, Run!"]]. It's basically the soundtrack to Boney's SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome. Whether or not Boney is the most powerful character, that scene singlehandedly solidified his "Boney is awesome" status forever.
* Whether [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ovadt5ZDwGc cheery]] or [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNtALsMtuVc heartrending]], the Mother 3 Love Theme is simply a beautiful song. The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fax72hPuoEw vocal version of the song]] is sweet and heartrending no matter what language it's being sung in.
%%* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQodF6QWsw4 "Mind of a Thief"]], the Tazmily music for Chapter 2.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ex6KuxJJ5i0 "Intense Guys"]]. It seems like okay boss music, until you realize that... "Whoa, that's not a boss I'm fighting. It's a freaking golden bat." Possibly the most epic non-boss tune in existence.
%%** Sticking with epic non-boss music, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBmrOoqFnlc&t=3s "Bothersome Guys"]].
%%** Speaking of guys, they can also be quite [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWNQoqiPTxQ cumbersome]] at times.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKl0E7fKIYU "Volcano! Inferno!"]]. A slow yet exciting piece, perfect for exploring a volcano.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VstzjFCljI "A Railway In Our Village?"]] is sadly only played in the beginning of the future.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWU9rA9van8 Piggy Guys]] is so awesome that it received an [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjFFmBSEHig epic remix]] that contains another song which SHOULD have been in ''Brawl''.
* Any theme that has the leitmotif of the Pigmasks, an awesome little tune that fits quite possibly Nintendo's most vile evil organization.
* Though they were basically a spinoff of the Runaway Five from ''[=EarthBound=]'', DCMC was an in-game rock/jazz band that took a few of the best SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic candidates from the game and made them a million times more Awesome. For example, the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qgb5Z67fYDU "DCMC Theme"]], a remix of Duster's "Mind of a Thief" tune.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7868r7BnYXY "Fate"]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2NXVGtp1qM "Serious"]] have a catchy recognizable beat that, unfortunately, is a little difficult to combo to. Here's an [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ddhhB4Gizk awesome remix]] of these songs too!
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGZcPtpVOiw "Natural Killer Cyborg"]]. An amazing rockin' theme that assures the player they are going up against a massive super-robot, and it's even got a bit of [[Music/MichaelJackson "Beat It"]] mixed in for extra awesomeness.
* At the end of ''VideoGame/{{Mother 3}}'', the most beautiful songs from the trilogy are reprised, including (surprisingly) the ''VideoGame/EarthBoundBeginnings'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Nqa20Pir4k main theme]]. What makes it go into absolute TearJerker territory, though, is [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGM6dZSTt8s the reprise of "Pollyanna (I Believe in You)"]], played as you take the boat ride to Porky's room. What makes it so sad is that Porky has crossed the MoralEventHorizon so many, MANY times, in such horrible ways, that you know there's no way he can have a happy ending, and also that you're surrounded by mementos from ''[=EarthBound=]'': turns out he really did like Ness as a friend after all, huh?
* Both [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVATYETGsCQ "Dangerous Guys"]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuUOT9B-8tM "More Dangerous Guys"]] feature a fantastic saxophone line that you just can't help but smile when listening to either.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyTF3SRcAgc "Bon Voyage, Amigo"]]. Only a game like ''Mother 3'' can make what's supposed to be the joyous occasion of completing your party, a TearJerker moment.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qqv2hnVX6r4 "It's Over"]], a remix of the Love Theme played at the climax of ''Mother 3'' where The Masked Man AKA Claus finally comes to his senses and says one last goodbye and apologizes to Lucas before killing himself. It's... [[TearJerker very sad.]]
%%* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iyo-bisJ1L4 Fall of the Pig King]] should have been used in the game.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8SKa_9lwwA "Sorrowful Tazmily"]] is a slower version of the Tazmily town theme that plays during Hinawa's funeral and captures the collective sorrow of the villagers.
* The transitioning of the music in ''Mother 3'' works out really well. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZigpUvppSE "Absolutely Filthy Apartments"]] song represents mystery, what has happened to our world? Immediately afterwards, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_Yo300UpGQ "Leder's Gymnopedie"]] explains. The scene is concluded by [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_jTw7HopPA The unnamed remix of the Chapter 3 closing music]], which symbolizes Lucas's ambition to do whatever it takes to bring back peace.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oko5svzwyYM "Refreshing Toilets"]] reuses the amazing "Alec's Log House" leitmotif from the beginning of the game, and is pretty calming despite the intensity of the endgame.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6f71Mv0Kac "Monkey's Love Song"]]. Being stuck with a total douchebag should ''not'' sound this catchy...
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qn_mWKeuD8A "Strong One"]] is quite possibly one of the best boss themes in a game with nothing but good boss themes. Enjoy comboing to [[UncommonTime the 15/8 meter]].
* The music used in the battle against [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=630h0adtaBU Mecha-Drago]]. Very melancholic, very awesome.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njUSB4Ifxg8 "Battle Against the Masked Man"]] continues the series's trend of scary FinalBoss themes. Massive terror in this song; it sounds like the soundtrack is dying. Absolutely nightmarish in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHVVXrN_GV8 reverse]].
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAWQz45MmBY "Wasteful Anthem"]] has a flute portion worth listening to.
%%* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zA0UC3D_Zoo Even]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8o-cxJ6z_oA the]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUtO0RrR67Q songs]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8o-cxJ6z_oA that]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21FRBqqhFAc only]] a few people will ever hear are still amazing.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fr4dLANVf9Y "Gentle Rain"]], a very peaceful and soothing track. The ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_j_vNhfs4M Mother 3i]]'' remixed version combines this with a remix of Confusion, the music that plays when Flint finds out Hinawa has been killed in a not precisely tactful manner, perfectly conveying a sense of shock and loss.
* The entire game kicks off with a little song called [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ygyiJKZozM "Fun Naming"]]. It's a gentle, moving piece that helps welcome the player to the ''Mother 3'' world. And after that, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ao8EsYHgeOs this song]] accompanies a sweeping view over the Nowhere Islands.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwBI2q6ulA8 "The Attic's A Dungeon!?"]] is pretty easily overlooked, playing in only one pretty short area, but that doesn't stop it from being an awesome beat.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9wuRWVwwOM "The Green Train's Fun Too!"]] sums up the joy of riding a green-colored train.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxtipfkdHuY The normal train music]] is really awesome, really making use of the electric guitar.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLmfiWhqaPw "A Tiny, Enormous Miracle"]], one of the game's most [[SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments heartwarming]] pieces of music. Especially at the 1:05 mark, when it changes to a beautiful reprise of "A Railway In Our Village?".
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxRFpgSYB2s "Open Sesame Tofu!"]] will make you unable to resist bopping your head along with Wess's dance.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pr36wNd_FE4 "Memory of Life"]], the ''very'' last song of the entire franchise. A soft, heartwarming track that is all but saying "the happy ending is finally here, after all this time."
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60V6wIxhkqY "And Then There Were None"]] captures the loneliness when you return to Tazmily Town to discover it's been reduced to a ghost town.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99uev4W82X8 "Monkey's Delivery Service"]], though not as sad as "And Then There Were None", is still damn hard to listen to without getting teary, as it embodies all the shit Fassad put Salsa through. Halfway in, a quiet synth joins the main flute/oboe melody, but one eighth note behind, and only on the left audio channel. Could this represent Salsa, forced to quietly and obediently follow his bombastic master?
* After going through a long adventure, seeing the ending, the "The End?" screen and its secret, you're treated to a roll call of the characters you met in the game, set to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixCCApaN-LQ]], appropriately called "Curtain Call". The way it starts, you can almost hear an entire audience roaring with applause in your head.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UHW4HNacRs "LOG-O-TYPE"]], a grand, majestic theme that plays when the ''Mother 3'' logo appears in the intro of the game. To quote a [=YouTube=] commenter, "The first time you heard this, you knew you were in for one hell of a game".
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wPtpMSqYJM "Accelerondo".]] It's used as the battle theme for the walking tombstone enemies, whose gimmick is that they walk towards you... slowly... until they ''very painfully strike.'' And the music sounds slow and lumbering at first, until it gets faster... and faster... ''and faster...''
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVK6a7Emido "And El Mariachi"]], used for battles against the cactus wolf. [[DissonantSerenity Sounds absolutely nothing like battle music.]] ''Is still awesome.''
* The song for the credits, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wux9A_L32bo "16 Melodies"]], combines all three main themes from each ''Mother'' game. It starts out with brief snippets of the "Mother 3 Love Theme", "Eight Melodies", and "Smiles and Tears", then plays the first full verses of "Eight Melodies" from ''[=EarthBound=] Beginnings'' and ''[=EarthBound=]''[='=]s "Smiles and Tears", and finishes with a reprise of ''Mother 3'''s "Love Theme", this time played in full, which ends its last remaining verse very triumphantly. It's uplifting, tearjerking, and heartwarming all at once as it embodies the strong end to this trilogy of great games.
* The GameOver theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWrqH_ed4GE "Stand Up Strong"]], is - like pretty much everything else in ''Mother 3'' - beautifully tearjerking, in that it embodies the serenity of death: it's pretty much a funeral tune, played with an organ. It is, essentially, "you can now rest in peace" in musical form.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Wemc8ChTEQ "Something Strange is Going On"]], the song that plays during the Epilogue of Chapter 3 and after Leder tells the party his lengthy story of the Nowhere Islands, is absolutely phenomenally fitting for the times it plays. It gives the feeling that Lucas is growing into a true hero in the former scenario, and a feeling of having the fate of ''everything'' in your hands. One of the most underrated pieces in the soundtrack.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTyaNRLuIyE "Tragic Reconstruction"]] is ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin: the player's first glimpse at the horrific creations of the Pigmasks. The music conveys both the frightening nature of the cyborg caribou, but also the sorrow of the [[CyberneticsEatYourSoul cybernetics eating its soul]].
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUftzAXqnyo "Life's An Inner Turn Radius"]] is a slow-paced, laid-back remix of the Pig Army theme which is great to listen to.
* Despite not being ([[PreFinalBoss technically]]) the final boss, Porky gets a suitably awesome battle theme in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iy_QQ7JvMk "Master Porky's Theme"]], in which Sakai brings together the Pigmask theme, "Monkey's Delivery Service", and "Smashing Song of Praise" into a piece of music as epic and blood-pumping as his battle theme from the previous game, yet with a tragic, almost-but-not-quite-hopeless feeling that really says "this is ''it''". A fitting theme for possibly the series' most devious yet complex character.
