This is the SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic page for the Platform/Nintendo64, Platform/PlayStation, Platform/SegaSaturn, Platform/GameBoyColor, etc.
----
%%* ''VideoGame/PilotWings 64'' has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JEueGdQ5yQ THIS]].
%%* ''[[VideoGame/{{Turok}} Turok 2]]'':
%%** [[https://youtu.be/VdjnLVlBy2w The Port of Adia]].
%%** Also, [[https://youtu.be/_-b8zDzqYxc the opening theme]] remains awesome to this day.
%%** [[https://youtu.be/7rgdxJhWz0U River of Souls]]. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-4ooTy8FYE Hive of the Mantids]]. [[https://youtu.be/aMRepf-ep4o Primagen's Lightship]]. [[https://youtu.be/5mrU6fUJiOg The Lair of the Blind Ones]].
%%* The original ''Turok Dinosaur Hunter'' also has some cool music in stuff like the [[https://youtu.be/xq6XtUa9QV8 Jungle,]] the [[https://youtu.be/qsQ6EkUNu6I Treetop Village,]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foeG5-9qc80 The Lost Land,]] [[https://youtu.be/8IjBkxiBsvY The Catacombs,]] and the [[https://youtu.be/DI2-PWuFmxQ T-Rex Battle]] are also awesome tunes.
%%* ''VideoGame/{{Pepsiman}}'': [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvMFIp0Rx28 PEPSII MAAAAANNNNNN]]
* ''VideoGame/{{Bomberman}} 64'':
** The game had [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOgG82OTIqQ Credits music that's so awesome,]] simply hearing it as the credits roll makes you feel like you accomplished something, no matter whether or not you actually got to the BonusLevel.
** The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jP9gTVQOpDw Bonus Level]]'s music is rather pleasing. Too bad it's really a BonusLevelOfHell.
** And the music from the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9-ZhO2-L3Q Blue Resort]] level, the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKKxfQf21PM Red Mountain]] level, and the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1pQt4qxVTI Green Garden]] level music? Oh, and the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBFOv70e700 Black City]] level music gives the feeling of a futuristic level.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1Dxqd6cV3s Altair's first battle theme]] sounds pretty calm for a confrontation with the BigBad, yet it surprisingly fits. Then [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ws7Sec5Km4I the second theme]] kicks in, turning the previously-calm song into a fast-paced kickass tune.
** The first part of the [[TrueFinalBoss real final battle]] against [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbNlF6rdvcE the traitorous Sirius]]. Like Altair's, it's relaxing... for the first few seconds.
** ''VideoGame/{{Bomberman}}'' should have its own page. Between the aforementioned ''Bomberman 64'' tracks, ''Bomberman HERO''[='s=] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3-5-cqMxPQ Redial]] and other tunes, and most of ''Saturn Bomberman''[='s=] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5YXdTtTMc0 soundtrack]], your ears will be in bliss.
* ''VideoGame/DiddyKongRacing'':
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8boRM6xRXg Star City]], also used for Spacedust Alley in the original game. The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SjGGQuUOh4 other]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGzKZFhW-S8 tracks]] in Future Fun Land are awesome, too. And [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxMh1hvk1KE Wizpig's Races]]. Then again, the soundtrack is filled with SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic.
** The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDmY89WASgM N64 Jungle Falls theme]], which became the DS remake's ending credits music. The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JCGpcFHuzU DS Jungle Falls theme]] has its own appeal.
** Even the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsrddmREt28 character select]] music was awesome. Even better was how it changed styles when you moved your cursor over a different character. Backing the character select is [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idEFyvBfz74 the Intro theme,]] which takes the character styles idea and [[RuleOfCool runs with it]]. It makes Drumstick, a chicken, look Badass, although that's also helped by the video somewhat.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P593c9xlmtw Walrus Cove]]. Rare seems to love arranging Christmas songs, and this one doesn't disappoint with a tune that sounds like a mix of "Here Comes Santa Claus" and "Walking in a Winter Wonderland".
%%** The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJBJATPL0IY Boss Races]].
%%** The awesome [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9CYgfh1UHY stage select music]].
* ''VideoGame/PerfectDark'', strangely enough, plays what is easily its most exciting and blood-pumping music [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRdXiUwQjiQ during the end credits]]. That being said, it's more than worth completing the single-player missions just so you can unlock that tune for your multiplayer matches.
** And one of the runner-ups plays during the ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6-NDuxaXOI pause menu]]''. Go figure...
** The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ku5kUAUEn1Y Chicago]] theme. But like Goldeneye before it, Perfect Dark had some incredible music. A couple of runners up are [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVVbw392lhw Crash Site Confrontation]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JzRKj4_LV0 dataDyne Action]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2_A7YzqYvU Pelagic II Exploration]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1HN-RVEdys Airbase Espionage]], and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMjCTB-0Adc Area 51 Escape]].
** Really, there are almost [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OmHwXYQPg0 too]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZlyR4NaZqU many]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZofgorgTsKw awesome]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pL6Hj-2uiQI songs]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9OA-57bVqI to mention]]. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bse5U6XKTY0 Almost]].
** This remix of Crash Site: Confrontation takes everything awesome about that track and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GonCu2QhD5g turns it up to eleven]].
%%** Even the music that got [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYhQqJrTVAw cut out]] was awesome.
%%* From ''[[VideoGame/GanbareGoemon Mystical Ninja]]'' for [=N64=].
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZQzuxEJl-4 Kai Highway]] from ''Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon''.
%%** But nothing beats [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJrnlFW4IMc Gorgeous My Stage]].
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NQKAsvlKcE The opening theme.]]
%%** The music from the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABpZcvjBjo8 second half]] of the Gorgeous Musical Castle.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIoMvYSYfWw Three flavors of awesome]] from the Gourmet Submarine.
%%** The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85zsU9vDgIk boss music]] from the second and third castles.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwRmzhPStk0 Mutsu]].
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FchGIDPFANM Impact's theme]].
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_TZUoODdUk With a theme this awesome]], even giant peach-shaped battleships are badass.
* The ''VideoGame/TonyHawksProSkater'' series has been known for its great soundtracks, but the one everybody remembers in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeNKhm09Q88 "Superman" by Goldfinger]] from the first game.
* With an epic plot, epic characters, NintendoHard gameplay, it must be said that the entire soundtrack of ''VideoGame/VagrantStory'' is equally epic. Again, Hitoshi Sakimoto at the helm.
** For battle themes, try [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqpdsieTL_s "Ifrit"]], or better yet [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftzHKRDIvp4 that battle theme against wyverns!]]. For dungeon themes, try listening to "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6cLP6PNuUk Catacombs]]", or "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8E8PsIgp3Y Undercity]]". On a rainy night. Alone.
** And your reward for surviving those creepy levels and that NH gameplay is some of the greatest [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5i-Qw3I6Wqc credits music]] ever. You can skip to 3:45 if you want but the buildup is worth it. Also, it helps to have played the game because hearing the motif at 4:25 subtly peppered throughout the rest of the game makes it that much more amazing to hear it in all its resplendent orchestral glory here.
* ''VideoGame/StarOceanTheSecondStory'':
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQE3Y5gC-xA Dynamite.]] Freaking Dynamite. Boss Battle Theme. Very fast-paced one.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmyJY42YeDo Mission to the Deep Space]] is another first for Tri-Ace games. It begins with a series of rising notes that literally crowns before breaking into the real meat of the song. Later versions even top this with electric guitars and saxophones.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pmLhCBjNGQ Integral Body and Imperfect Soul]]. There aren't many games out there with battle themes that have the kind of power and ferocity that this one does.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUAfLDPhsSI Field of Expel]].
%%** The chilling credits theme [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwZodQUQFz4 We Form in Crystals]].
%%** This is the game that gave us the first version of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMK_R4JjnbE Incarnation of the Devil]]. And by extension, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4zpoH8hmCM all]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ca47GVRdhng of]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLAdo4CmWqM its]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDGiZmmxP2A remixes]].
%%** ...all of which ''pales'' before Rena's theme song, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5NMakAUE_0 Ocean of Tears]], as well as [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=advWEZZ7Qqk the music box version]], and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3YoSH22l2w Lose One's Illusions]], the "Welcome to Energy Nede" version.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=856JHoaVYqM Stab The Sword Of Justice]], the battle theme.
* Frank Klepacki also did the soundtracks for Westwood's ''VideoGame/{{Dune|II}}'' games. ''Dune 2000'' gave us "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=likJ7i9qMYM Harkonnen Battle]]" and "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vBfsG3Bxk0 Rise of the Harkonnen]]," while Frank also did the Atreides soundtrack from ''Emperor: Battle for Dune'', including the triumphant "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1foHX5Kv0M Ride the Worm]]" and haunting "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGMgA0dRLvw The Spice Must Flow]]".
** He faced fierce competition in the form of the Harkonnen soundtrack composer, David Arkenstone. He granted everyone's favorite evil barony a heavy metal, industrial sound: listen to "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHL6CDyDfp8 Harkonnen Force]]", "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UPvS-w7ZJg Tribute to Evil]]", "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fsuT6m3Ycg The Machine]]", "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IEqHOPeEhg Surrounded]]," "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uI8BMzGaloQ Unstoppable]]", and "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgcdoV4Rh34 Legacy]]," which feels a bit like an audio homage to the 1984 film.
** Finally, Jarrid Mendelson, who did House Ordos, made some rather creepy techno for the wealthy plutocrats, like "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q27HfGOOI88 Not An Option]]", "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqzQl0sffm0 The Strategist]]", "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtxGbE0y4_o Ghola]]", and "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmgdcFYGmxo Dream of the Executrix]]".
** If we mention ''Dune'' at all, one of the greatest Moments of Awesome Music has to be the intro sequence for the [[VideoGame/{{Dune}} original Dune adventure/strategy game]]. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BZXRcwC1UU Here]] is the PC version of the intro, which is easily one of the best Sci-Fi inspirational themes ever produced. In fact, the ENTIRE music for the game was so well-accepted, that it was one of the first games to have its soundtrack sold separately as an album. It is now extremely rare, but is still sold in some on-line stores, almost two decades after its release!
%%* Stéphane Picq is one of the least mentioned talented videogame composers out there considering the work he did for the original Dune game by Cryo Entertainment. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJU-7W73GBg Ecolove]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skFejZvnHyU Chani's Eyes]].
%%** Also check the work he did for the game ''Lost Eden'' ([[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oXgnNJgd_k Tamara]]).
* The funniest and best track of ''VideoGame/ConkersBadFurDay'' (right next to Conker the King reprise) the track that plays during the Sloprano chapter, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQTkAXs--ho The Great Mighty Poo's song]].
** Also [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COoLeoTw_FI Windy]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3i7faPPTB3g The Uggas]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRKdcdH2TCs Heist]], and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6F-IUJl5kA the orchestra part of the Great Mighty Poo]].
** And the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uXBV6MMitE surprisingly sad ending theme]]. It will shock you, even if just a little bit.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVPHmok3hxA Rock Solid]] is an amazing Trance-Techno track that pushes that [=N64=] to its absolute limits.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lOlZQOn1Wg Baladium's Drive]] from ''Klonoa: Door to Phantomile'' certainly deserves mention. As do [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m46yhAAUdPM Jugpot Falls]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgV0dDX_bt0 Count Three]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vlk5zRbG87o Beats From Above]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDZqlYCyl04 The Ruin's Air]] (which has a nice reprise of the game's theme), [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgXakFDG2Pg Red Heat Coronia]]... yeah, it's an awesome and underrated soundtrack.
* ''VideoGame/TwistedMetal 2.'' For example, it actually puts together [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKjcGF60hNU a mix of "Frère Jacques"]] that will get you in the mood to just snap and totally wail on everything!
** The theme on [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3eIsTQIqSQQ Holland stage]]. Still one of the best HotBlooded 'country' music which sets the mood to crush EVERYTHING in sight.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIFVng_vEXg Dark Tooth.]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccGGL2yl6rc Antarctica.]] Perfectly fits the tension and fear that the platform you're on is gonna plummet to an icy death.
* "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLMQuYbh4q8 If You Still Believe]]," the theme of ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfDragoon''. Most of the music in the game was nothing special, mostly average with the occasional nice song. But that song is just absolutely beautiful.
* The soundtrack Neil Voss did for ''VideoGame/{{Tetrisphere}}''. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIZd2gNC8R8 It must be heard to be believed]], especially for something coming out of an N64!
** Also [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEhlMyvertM Prophetic]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KygwNXgCQtA Zyp Zyp]].
** He also did the soundtrack for [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuKL1XG8Fas The New Tetris]], which is also awesome.
* The soundtrack for ''VideoGame/PanzerDragoon Saga'' is incredible. Try [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ME1XiFyIIM "Atolm Dragon"]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDT29nbEQ3U "Rest"]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7WMqb8UG6Q "Town of Zoah"]], or the main battle theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkkIfGaY7sU "Transformation 1"]] on for size.
* Takayuki Negishi's work on ''VideoGame/BloodyRoar''. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFjrtjVJFVc Long's]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWTJBsZx-I8 themes]] from the [=PS1=] games, for starters.
* The main theme of the ''VideoGame/GranTurismo'' series, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkbCj82kKik Moon Over the Castle]], composed by guitarist Masahiro Andoh of the famous Japanese jazz fusion band [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-Square_(band) T-Square]], is perhaps one of the most certifiably epic intro themes for any game, and has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8O3dqSaAV8 only]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1vccxhwVVQ gotten]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xV8m37_2Y6w better]] with each incarnation of the series. A shame the Sony seems to enjoy ripping the amazing original soundtracks out of the ''Gran Turismo'' games in the Western and European releases, instead replacing them with licensed music, and it wasn't until ''Gran Turismo 7'' that "Moon Over the Castle" was used as the opening music outside of Japan. T-Square performs this song under the title [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTQXIkcUipM Knight's Song]]. Apart from "Moon Over the Castle", Andoh-san also composed music that plays during races in the first two ''Gran Turismo'' games, which, again, were substituted for licensed music in the international releases. Highlights include "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmivPi5nZEw Get Closer]]" and "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=el-GOAAgANs Green Monster]]" in the first game, and "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0g2u0fYRqaE Blowing Away]]" and "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-eKOSqbsRs Call of the Wild]]" in the second game.
* Thought you could escape epic Music/JAMProject (member)-created ''Manga/GetterRobo'' themes by staying out of the anime section? Nope. Turns out that Masaaki Endo did the OP for ''Getter Robo Daikessen''. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-pMw5vhngg Hope you enjoy your hot-blooded earworm]].
* The ''VideoGame/RaySeries'' of {{shmups}} has awesome soundtracks, what with them being composed by Tamayo Kawamoto (of Taito's in-house music group, Zuntata) and all.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4fWUYA743Y Molecular Clock]], the music for ''[=RayStorm=]''[='=]s Stage 5 and 6 bosses is both this and terrifying.
** The last part of the song "Vit Symty" in ''Ray Crisis''. That is, the song played if you start with the "Emotion" stage. Also, the OminousPipeOrgan music during the TrueFinalBoss battle.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TF8Bfx0msbI G]], the ''VideoGame/RayForce'' stage 2 music. A lovely tune to cruise through space to.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SCHtceqLnM Cracking!]] gets you pumped for the game's later stages.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Edu8-D1jAY Stab and Stomp!]], the air boss music from ''Battle Garegga''. The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBEdnJKSUMg Batrider rearrangement]] is good too.
* [[http://www.studio-zel.com/music/Sakura%20Taisen%20~Atsuki%20Chishioni~%20Teigeki% Ganbare!! Teikoku Kagekidan!! (Do Your Best!! Imperial Elite Strike Force!!)]]) from ''VideoGame/SakuraWars'', which ''also'' doubles as a SugarWiki/{{Heartwarming Moment|s}}.
** There are MANY examples in the series. From theme songs that are actual full fledged songs (spanning many genres), to normal battle music that actually seems to be HAPPY. But one of the ultimate SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic in video games simply must be the final battle to the second game -- it's a total epic, minor [[{{Scales}} key]], tarantelle of a piano concerto that with the bad guy theme as a leitmotif, and even tosses in a sinister harpsichord in a slow interlude.
* From ''VideoGame/ApeEscape'' comes the theme to TV tower, you're running around a tall building(In a tank in one area of the level and blowing up things) and the music feels like you ran into one of those TV broadcasting stations, the music just FITS.
** The [[http://il.youtube.com/watch?v=NFQUBYfCgk8 Trick Castle/Crumbling Castle]] music as well.
** The entirety of Ape Escape's soundtrack is pure concentrated win, but special mention goes to the epicness that is [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNn5R6Mfqag Galaxy Monkey!]]
* Whatever your feelings on the game itself, you must agree that Michael Giacchino's score for the [=PS1=]. ''Film/TheLostWorldJurassicPark'' game was better in some ways than John Williams' score for the film. Bonus points for being the FIRST video game to use a full orchestral score.
* One of the best traditional {{RPG}}s on the Saturn, Albert Odyssey. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67_ekpqADTc
** In particular the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s09VWzZG9AQ First Main Theme]] is beautiful
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8DIWSnPDnw Joker's Room]] from Fighter's Destiny, which had better be awesome due to [[SNKBoss how often you'll be hearing it.]]
* Practically the entire damn soundtrack from ''[[VideoGame/{{Darius}} G-Darius]]'', but special mention has to go to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkvmjnnElUU B.T. Dutch]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcNMrlWaRWc Kimera II]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEcZxw4isao Adam]].
* From ''VideoGame/PacManWorld'', [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXjjwYdiMjg Under Pressure]] is an incredibly catchy tune fitting very nicely with the factory stage of the game.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bW8Cf2E9QsQ Far Out]] and its remix for the next level, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGbl7K4-Fk8 Gimme Space]], are some of the best bloopy-sounding space themes ever.
** ''Pac-Man World 2'' has the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YdJMNSQY-I Ghost Island]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbWSscPb2bY theme]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ELOjuj9HlA its]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqdDwjjnFao variations]].
* A particularly obscure one: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIZbBF5SS_E Kiss in the Dark]], the Japanese opening to the fighting game ''VideoGame/EvilZone''.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkZiSf5OUeE Passing Through The Forest]] from ''VideoGame/ThreadsOfFate''. A nice peaceful song.
* A real obscure one is most of the soundtrack to the game ''Spider'', which is awesome enough of being an experimental gun-and-knife wielding spider, but having some of the most kickass unheard of music on the [=PS1=]. Such as the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm5x5NxCJFE Boxes/Machine Room]] level music.
* ''VideoGame/{{Frogger}} 3D'' (also known as ''Frogger: He's Back!'') has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V59jrnyOwMw "Airshow Antics"]], while the sequel (''Swampy's Revenge'') has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YNE20ahZc8 the Laboratory theme]] and the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdPz6fC1tFU Space theme]].
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2wpbjbT4HY "Kline's Dream"]] from VideoGame/{{Alundra}}.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lC8gZzFMKwM "Ra's Underground Hideout"]] too.
* ''VideoGame/{{Alundra 2}}'' has the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgFBQPMPMSE second boss battle theme]].
* How they did it, no one will ever know... but the terribly-designed ''Yu-Gi-Oh!: Forbidden Memories'' has several bits of awesome music scattered throughout it. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_y4WyrYltU Preliminary Match]] comes to mind...
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7WVKqxFprY Seto Kaiba]] has a battle theme exclusive to him, and it is '''amazing'''.
** Also [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lk4-8hc9P5A Finals]]. Gotta love those drums, and that electric guitar is just awesome.
* On the topic of Yu-Gi-Oh! games, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JnJd2vQkB4 Duelist of the Roses]] brings several of its own amazing duel themes: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u20Jz9iY6LU Computer Battle]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAK-x0dNNJg Yorkist Battle]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gkh5_LubAW4 Lancastrian Battle]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0VeDp6yZ0U Seto's Battle]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NI05k8u4O1Y a remix of Yugi's Gameboy battle theme]], and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyKT9GcPdvs a remix of Bakura's Gameboy battle theme]].
** Cutscene tracks are good too, especially [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cI2-IV05QSQ Mako's Theme]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heFQe-DAhGg Kaiba's Theme]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjpiqF_DL9A Yugi's Manor]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guVrHgczXz8 Yugi's Ascension]], and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BVajwVTVHo Seto's Ambition]].

** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zrtl41oZxOA Rolling Start]], five minutes of upbeat house music that's so incredibly cheesy, you can't help but smile when you listen to it.
** And [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kp6T6q6_9VQ "Sky High"]], also from ''VideoGame/DaytonaUSA''. Too bad it's only played on ThatOneLevel.

* ''VideoGame/ValkyrieProfile'' also has quite a few great pieces. In particular, the track "Turn a New Leaf" that plays prior to every boss fight. And the two battle music tracks - "Confidence in the Domination" and "Fighting the Shadowy Gods". And "Celestial Troupe".
* [[TheProblemWithLicensedGames Say what you will about the actual gameplay]], but the music in ''Literature/{{Animorphs}} Shattered Reality'' is ''awesome!'' ''Especially'' the swamp level music, which can be heard [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESGEwiUQ2xM here.]]
* "The Musashi Legend" from ''VideoGame/BraveFencerMusashi'' (linked to in the {{Fanfare}} page).

* The title song in ''VideoGame/BustAGroove'' (''Bust A Move'' in Japan - while in the USA there was already a game by that name). And it's criminal to mention ''Bust A Groove'' without giving props to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4Xqj7pEfQw The Natural Playboy]].
* From the ''VideoGame/LegacyOfKain'' series, we have:
** ''Blood Omen'': Most of the tunes stand out, but ''Nupraptor's Theme'' is where it's at. Ominous chanting, ominous main melody, and then you hear Ariel's scream.
** ''Soul Reaver'': The main theme, ''Ozar Midrashim''. While not made especially for the game, it's still a fantastic tune, going from epic to melancholic and back.
* Technically, they're not video game-exclusive, but a lot of the real-world college fight songs that appear in the ''NCAA Football'' series are quite epic.
* The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TloRRzVM50E Hydra Prime]] is nothing short of awesome.
** The soundtrack to 3 surpasses its predecessor by a mile. Hand-picked by the Ministry of Sound. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMWJTwueA2c Here's an example.]]
** The soundtrack isn't the only reason the original is still the best, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFTFsiG5Zpw but it helps.]]
* The ''VideoGame/SyphonFilter'' ThemeTune, particularly in the first three games and ''Omega Strain''.
** Best tunes from the second game: Club 32, Prison Escape/Biolab Escape, Pharcom Expo and its alert version, Rocky Mountains, Train, Intro Cutscene/Credits
** The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtVNDW1eCLM Omega Strain version of the main theme]] and the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6SH7BIKwwI AIT Action themes from Dark Mirror]] are made of pure win.

** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHvR-hvhRUU Washington Park Danger Theme]]. Awesome music for an [[Awesome/VideoGameLevels awesome level]].
** Even better, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4bTkrXddKc Pharcom Warehouses]].
* The soundtrack to ''VideoGame/SanFranciscoRush 2049'', especially, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4zqXVTpJfo Hidden]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrRA3hw706c Wingey]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EItF7KEo3TU The Rock 2049]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pG9EBCDsUEk Flyer]], and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmQ7MPF5bTk Daytime]].
* ''Die Hard Trilogy 2: Viva Las Vegas'': Much of the soundtrack (produced by BT), especially [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTXpg8p-xpI Prison Cell Block]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVWTXX7EcMM Prison Banquet Hall]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncuqZZu-LY0 Desert Highway]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuG6AzTu2E8 Desert Gunfight]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jeTLNv3yQ8 Desert Bunker]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAvKvXEK7Zc Vegas Downtown]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oooHDLyGI6U Bio Lab]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lct8kF-ucDA Dam Driving]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yuCbLZFMuY Hotel Strip]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kobIXo0Nbw Reese]], and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wbgscc5xvLQ Nemesis]].
* ''VideoGame/TimeCrisis'' has two pieces which deserve mention. The first is [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqSdNYSFSIA the theme for series villain Wild Dog]] (''Time Crisis 3'' version presented here), which is instantly familiar to anyone who's played the games. The second is [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blOoJlVkXHU the final boss music in Time Crisis 3]], complete with ominous chanting and bells. It works because of the tension in both actual play and the storyline: BigBad Giorgio Zott comes at you with duel-wielding a submachine gun and a sword (wielding both with deadly effectiveness), and is backed by mooks AND TANKS. He also just initiated the launch sequence for missiles which will wipe out a Mediterranean county if they fire. All you're thinking is that you have to kill the SOB before an entire nation ceases to exist.
** The fourth game gets awesome OminousLatinChanting in its [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQehoNXvAts intro]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rh5lTHE764 final battle]] themes.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzTfV92i6oY The Main Theme]] of the ''[[VideoGame/BubbleBobble Puzzle Bobble]]'' / ''[[VideoGame/BubbleBobble Bust-A-Move]]'' series is catchy.
* The entire soundtrack to ''VideoGame/{{Wild 9}}'' represents some of Tommy Tallarico's finest work. A shame the game is so hopelessly obscure. In particular, the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIZxpH1topw Beast Engine stage theme]] is just all kinds of awesome.
* ''VideoGame/SpiderMan2000'' for the Nintendo 64 and [=PS1=] had some [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Psdl5xRmrZ0 cool music]]. The main menu probably counts as an ear-worm as well, as it's a short loop sampled from the main song.
* ''VideoGame/ZeroDivide'': Most of the soundtrack is good, but the real standouts are [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpffkIbg7j4 A Nation of Poison]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAYn65Lg7GI The Power Beat]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9V8DP5Jguxg Waiting for the Sound of Thunder]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7MTvkLYATc Fate]].
* ''Top Gear Rally'' had some cool music for both the American and the [[NoExportForYou Japanese/European]] versions. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOt55BOVMT8 The Main Menu Theme]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4ZsvdHW6mg the Desert]], and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PS5ITjEh-L0 the Jungle]].
* [[Creator/ElectronicArts EA]] sure did have awesome music for their sports games (at least for [[UsefulNotes/NationalHockeyLeague hockey]] and UsefulNotes/{{basketball}}) back then. With rockin' songs like [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwaEergZayI this,]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgA_UBHFASQ this,]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aiNXlGo-sw this]] for the NHL, and funky stuff like [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkz_J19VgMc this,]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZHmcdmkUPI this,]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nboe8BXM4Fc this]] for the NBA, it'll make you wonder why EA doesn't do music like this in their games anymore.
* ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants: Legend of the Lost Spatula'' may have fallen victim to TheProblemWithLicensedGames, but [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4m1Qlwr4EM it]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdSmIc3TEqQ did]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sg3-ZYBq9bI have]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUzVzkCUqbQ some]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmZKpVg_WW0 great]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cu1yFs5BzYU music]].
* ''VideoGame/SnowboardKids'' has a lot of great tracks, particularly [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkH0qjQ8GNw Big Snowman]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PStxslJ7Ks Night Highway]], and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1lj59dGfzQ SILVER MOUNTAIN]].
%%** The sequel had some amazing ones, too:

%%*** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaKKhh2-2KY Jingle Town]]

%%*** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Kwn5PLSK9M Ice Land]], and its [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4He6lXJ-MB8 remix]] when facing the Damien Robot.
* ''VideoGame/TenEightySnowboarding''. The songs for [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GP9pqP5HkYk Mountain Village]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Jf2zMosygE Golden Forest]], and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XL3sXKaLdfM Dragon's Cave]] are all awesome, with the song in the middle being a part of the Super Smash Bros. Brawl soundtrack.
* ''VideoGame/PsychicForce'''s music is some of the best. For example: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_g0xyJn0I8 Burning Storm, the theme of Burn Griffith]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGIL5aBQCWE Carry Over!, the theme of Sonia]]
* [[VideoGame/NightsIntoDreams "In a dream I can see/You are not far away.]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5dJIWZ7s58 Any time, any place/I can see your face."]]
* [[VideoGame/BurningRangers "Burning Rangers! To the brand new sky we dive!]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybgmr72l42A Burning Rangers! Wings we have of shining white!"]]
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhiO9ekOotc The fittingly ironic ending theme]] of ''VideoGame/KillingTime''.
* The original ''VideoGame/VirtualOn''. 179* From the AMAZING Platform/VirtualBoy game ''Galactic Pinball'': [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtSVkFy6_g4 MOONMAN's Fandango.]]
* The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oweJZ1H731w Custom Battle music]] from the original ''VideoGame/CustomRobo''.
* ''Mortal Kombat Trilogy'', anyone? Themes like the pulse-pounding [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGCAz5KYffU Character Selection]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryrIQ3Bjojw Rooftop]], as well as the epic [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-sG5q67jhY Temple]] come to mind. There are many more awesome songs in the series; this should have its own page.
* The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYBJr-_kJoo intro]] for ''VideoGame/TreasuresOfTheDeep''.
** That particular piece is also the theme music for the level "Safe Passage", where you escort a U.S Navy Carrier Group to battle at the BigBad's secret base. It's one of the more challenging missions in the game, and a frustrating EscortMission, but the music really helps to get across how epic this all is. The rest of the music [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJHZlVzhU6Y ain't]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWECQt_0zCA half]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8M9vD6PGIc bad]] either.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2A3n4AINVPI In This World]] from ''VideoGame/MrBones'', a song that has been compared to Music/PinkFloyd.
* ''VideoGame/CoolBoarders 2''. This game is one of those simple ones with a knack for being good and have great music. Take [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49g2PHVROlI The Red Hot Mamma]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBkYswIUKsE Mr. Rain]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVak7mZhUfQ Lynch Law]], and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtwsYtG5nnk Tranzy]] as examples.
* ''South Park Rally'', of all things, has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrehF-E_pu8 March in the Big Gay Parade.]] It's the kind of patriotic jingle that makes [[WesternAnimation/AmericanDad Stan Smith]] proud to be American.
* ''VideoGame/{{Driver}}'' has the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pE1gTYd9EDc Main Theme]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0fZNHTtcSU Miami Escape at Night]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgZRt5EUedE San Francisco at Day]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfItHAOf44o Los Angeles at Night]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9iNi9w_0Fg Los Angeles Escape at Night]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfUAKv-M5Jg New York Escape at Day]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaQUH4vw9kc New York at Night]] and the unused [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtXI5qGw83w Los Angeles Escape at Day]]. ''Driver 2'' has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWInEV2teeg Chicago at Night]],[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hc4LtHpljTk Chicago Escape at Night]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLzI2tXaqSY Havana Escape at Day]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1xVD0sQghw Havana Escape at Night]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGs-EVdCMD8 Las Vegas at Day]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S15VtM6Euco Las Vegas Escape at Day]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HfsAwVwRUo Rio Escape at Day]].

* Regardless of [[LicensedGame the game itself]] (which was actually decent), ''VideoGame/HarryPotterAndTheChamberOfSecrets'' on the GBC had some really cool music; [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSeP9lOXVxw the boss theme]], for example.
%%** Also from the console and PC versions: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwaLGCV58w0 Diagon Alley (Menu theme in the PC version)]].
* From the soundtrack of the GBC version of ''[[VideoGame/HarryPotterAndThePhilosophersStone Philosopher's Stone]]'':
** The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_V9MlehRXag boss theme]] is set to the same tune as its ''Chamber of Secrets'' counterpart and is quite good in its own regard.
** If that's not your thing, then enjoy the equally upbeat [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFKgmZC0o_E regular battle theme]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdLrUo_O52E main menu theme]].
** The mellow theme of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tArDWynSEk Diagon Alley and Gryffindor House]] uses a few riffs from the menu theme.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HZf_wwvtPw The Forbidden Forest theme]] is great if you're up for something mysterious and menacing.
** The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgQFTVsBjjY chase theme]] is perfect for all those broomstick minigames.
* ''VideoGame/ArcTheLad II'':
** "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4nzcGtVUQA Music Man]]" might not be an ''exciting'' piece of music, but it is wonderfully composed and absolutely gorgeous.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kW_zpdDqXuw Seirya]], Arc's homeland's theme from the first game, is a short but beautiful melancholic piece.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8yQ5l_Ir-0 Battle with the four generals]] from the second Arc: the theme which plays during the fights against [[TheEmpire Romanlia's]] top general. A more upbeat variation of the main main villains' theme which plays when the heroes finally confront one of them.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IshRS9zvb9A To Tomorrow]] the second game's SolemnEndingTheme. If this theme does not make you cry, play the first two games to their conclusion: then [[SchmuckBait you'll cry]], and also [[TroubledFetalPosition crawl in a foetal position]], [[PlayerPunch holding your belly like it was just hit by a cannonball]], [[DespairEventHorizon hitting your head on the floor]] and swearing [[DisproportionateRetribution you'll kill whoever wrote the plot]]... Yeah, it's one of [[TrueArtIsAngsty these games.]]
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIjuOb4N3Dw This gem]], used on the main menu of early PAL region [=PlayStation=] demo discs, will invoke nostalgia from anyone who grew up playing said demos with their psychedelic [[MushroomSamba backdrops]] in the late '90s. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0BzHLKNI2U#t=38 Here's an example]].
* Despite being only 17 tracks long, the entire soundtrack of underrated Playstation 1 gem ''Soukaigi'' is made of awesome. Highlights include [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WO7nSb9evnQ Quake]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gceva3eF3k Fire Wire]], the songs of the ''first and second stage'' respectively, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5tQZtN7eSk Broken Memory]], and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1kL4UlElFk Regret]], the final boss song.
* Although the eight tracks that play in the Monster Tower in ''VideoGame/AzureDreams'' are simply variations on the first track, each new variation turns up the awesome.
** The track for [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inQun4pUlLA Floors 1-4]] sets the stage with a bright theme based around two related melodic ideas that convey a real sense of adventure as we join Koh on his journey. This atmosphere continues in the theme for [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=naYN4NrPtnc Floors 5-9,]] which builds to a spectacular climax just before wrapping around.
** As Koh makes his way further into the tower, the music shifts mood to match; the theme for [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jg7o7UyPiA Floors 10-14]] dials up the exoticism, at one point shifting the second half of the theme into the Arabic double harmonic scale to knock the listener off balance. The theme for [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6AeuJcYeYs Floors 15-19]] is more enigmatic still, standing out as the first variation in a minor key and cleverly using a version of the second half of the theme as a countermelody to the first half.
** Things take a turn for the grim starting with the heavy, plodding variation used in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQgZ5JZOMmQ Floors 20-24,]] giving a sense of darkness closing in around Koh as he makes his way higher and higher. And while the variation used for [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1A905Uo5KcI Floors 25-29]] may seem lighter at first, the first half of the theme repeatedly skids off into "wrong notes" to further disorient the player.
** The game truly stops playing nice by the time you reach the final ten floors, and the music complements this brilliantly. The variation for [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sG4ZqdLU2P4 Floors 30-34]] has a real sense of energy and urgency to it, the two halves of the theme winding in and out in dizzying fashion, complete with occasional shifts to modal scales. And the final variation for [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgpNKuzTnUA Floors 35-39]] possesses a suitable measure of dramatic tension as the final confrontation with Beldo draws near, with a long, scalar introduction to reel the listener in before the theme finally makes its entrance.
* ''The New Tetris'''s soundtrack (composed by Neil D. Voss) is a wonderful mix of Jungle/Drum 'n' Bass, Big Beat, and World music. The songs are made to reflect the different countries that the stages take place in and, as such, are rather diverse. Not to mention that the songs make excellent use of {{sampling}}, especially for a cartridge-based game. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CruTx-PXQD4 Here]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlv9pDuz36A are]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ht1IQP9kdKQ some]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhPXqtFf4AQ highlights.]]
* ''VideoGame/LufiaTheLegendReturns'' had so much awesome music. Examples include [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QX3pA7oupmo Battle #4]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=544Uh8g4AoY To the Island]]. The latter is especially notable for being an 8-bit remix of "For the Savior", SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic from ''VideoGame/LufiaIIRiseOfTheSinistrals''.
* ''VideoGame/DinoCrisis'' underwhelmed both critics and audiences with its enemies, but one could not fault the creepiness of the music. One of the best examples is the track [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDCt36ALt-c This Place Is Deserted Though]]. You will hear this song for most of the first half of the game, and it never fails [[ParanoiaFuel to leave you in a state of unease]].
* ''VideoGame/{{Quest 64}}'' and its GB/GBC counterpart, ''Quest: Brian's Journey'', both have exquisite music. For example, when you step out to the open field for the first time, you hear [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwrshvYur24 this]]. It sounds exactly like how your first steps onto the open plains actually feel.
* ''VideoGame/ChameleonTwist'' has awesome, cute music. How can it be both cute and awesome? Well, compare [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7MOZunMz3E the theme of Jungle Land's first half]] to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8igGep2NMmw the theme of Kid's Land]]. In addition, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9-s4L184mk this]], while awesome, is also cutesy. That's not to say it doesn't get [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1F6sPAVj30 creepy]], though...
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7ok5AV7ZrM Right about now, its time to rock with the biggety]] ''VideoGame/BuckBumble''!
* ''VideoGame/ElementalGearbolt'' has a very, ''very'' dramatic soundtrack; it is all orchestral for nonstop OrchestralBombing. Sweeping strings and OminousLatinChanting abound.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C77g30_waQM An Ending]], the opening theme (thanks to AnachronicOrder).
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lao-dWD29Wg The Scout]], the Act 1 theme (the strings about 1 minute in are amazing).
* The obscure 1997 futuristic sports game ''Riot'' (''Professional Underground League of Pain'' in North America) has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UwmlCdtsh0 this]] as its title theme.
* The [=PlayStation=] puzzle games ''VideoGame/IntelligentQube'' and ''Intelligent Qube Final'' have fully orchestral soundtracks by Takayuki Hattori, so there's lots of awesome to be had. Good tracks include:
** ''IQ''[='=]s First Stage: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aAY-IGajxA The 1st Tide]], with energy that gradually builds and finally releases in a brass fanfare before the music wraps around.
** ''IQ''[='=]s Second Stage: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RL5HuwdW_P0 Ecliptic]], an epic re-arrangement of "The 1st Tide" with a much greater sense of urgency for the more difficult levels it accompanies.
** ''IQ Final''[='=]s First Stage: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSJJ4FJgJ2c The 2nd Tide]], which manages to combine both a sense of grandeur and a sense of fun for the brainteasers that lie ahead.
** ''IQ Final''[='=]s Second Stage: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tP8BJ-tkB6U Theory]], which does for "The 2nd Tide" what "Ecliptic" did for "The 1st Tide" by taking the same basic melody and giving it a shot of adrenaline.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drCAXAGn1-0 The Justice Ray]], the FinalBoss theme from the Platform/SegaSaturn ShootEmUp ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9_boRVnIQM Blast Wind]]''. This song would inspire a series of Justice Ray songs, most notably [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUxi3AwxCck The Justice Ray Part 2]] from ''[[VideoGame/ThunderForce Thunder Force V]]'', [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64SoUfaiG18 The Justice Ray Part 3]] from ''Segagaga'' and the fanmade ''VideoGame/ThunderForce'' game ''Broken Thunder'', [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldZg77Up86U Wirbelwind's Theme]] also known as The Justice Ray Part 4 from ''Naval Ops: Commander'', and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csWijy0VxIE The Last Howling]], also known as The Justice Ray Part 5 from ''Gunhound EX''.
* From the Arcade and Platform/SegaSaturn game ''Hyper Duel'', also from the creators of the ''VideoGame/ThunderForce'' series,
** The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzfrtKWqFNg Final Boss]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xAGztZg9KmQ theme]], which is also a TitleDrop on the OST.
** The rest of the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECe_HjTuWt4 soundtrack]] to ''Hyper Duel''. Tracks of particular note: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4W3HKFRhZD4 Black]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GynLyX4yytU Rain]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PpEGBFgFz3M Cosmo]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwQzc4I8zMQ Babylon]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgXhCgh817w Night]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KY-hYSVTpCc Sweeper]].
* ''VideoGame/MotorToonGrandPrix'', Polyphony Digital's first game series, may not have had the licensed songs that ''VideoGame/GranTurismo'' contained, but it makes up for that with many great original pieces, especially in the second game:
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiOJXFTgG-s Go Go Motor Toon!]], the main theme.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r43KMrPe8hs Toon Island II]], a lighthearted song for the first track.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IncDzYlmVsw Toon Village]], which gets especially awesome around the two-minute mark.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XL7Ist0fivM Haunted Castle]], which uses fittingly strange instrumentation.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGLA5nUJbtU Gulliver House II]], a perfect fit for the [[{{Wackyland}} bizarre setting]].
** Crazy Coaster has two excellent songs, depending on whether you play [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_l-B7i9Bj64 the US version]] or [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQ51tML2V6E the Japanese version]].
* The obscure Japan exclusive [=Playstation=] title ''VideoGame/MoonRemixRPGAdventure'' has such a wonderful and varied soundtrack that you could have sworn that they came from a totally different game.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jz2sxbuN3gM I'm Waiting For The Night (Moondisc Version)]] is a really chill Techno song.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPzKfuYQwiU KERA-MA-GO.]] Fun Fact: the girl who sings in this song is actually an American visiting Japan whom the devs just came across.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoVX6LKm-OI Song of Spinning Silver Threads]] is a really good piece of video game ear candy when it comes to string instruments.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNXv3L_ebrk Hole In Your Sock]] is perfect music for going out on the town or something like that.
** The song that plays when the Hero proceeds to kill everyone on the Moon, EVEN THE BOY YOU PLAY AS, is actually [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saxPleP7ams really threatening]].
* ''VideoGame/RisingZanTheSamuraiGunman'' has, for its opening, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7A1BptKRZpc "Super Ultra Sexy Hero"]] by Hironobu Kageyama for the Japanese version, and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-aILrMl_sU "Johnny No More"]] by Greg Nowlin and David Weber for the US version.
* Creator/{{Acclaim}}'s otherwise average late-generation racing game ''Vanishing Point'' (no relation to [[Film/VanishingPoint the movie]]) has an awesomely energetic {{trance}} soundtrack, especially [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-evP_tiU18 "Peregone"]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDzDYQyv4qU "Receptor"]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqiAd4wohhs "Kraymon"]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xgnj5cWRsbw "Melting"]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHP2e3L7xKA "Q"]], and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndpuypUybuw "Chase"]].
* The forgotten [=PS1=] game ''Kaze No Notam'', otherwise known as ''Notam of Wind'', has one of the most chill video game soundtracks ever made. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cs_cxMg7z5s Just take]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ci3lO_QgN10 a listen]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQUTwfaNzrs to]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Tr8QgUHOtw these!]].
* ''[[Franchise/TheSmurfs The Smurfs' Nightmare]]'' for the GBC has a shockingly fantastic yet woefully overlooked soundtrack, composed by Alberto Jose Gonzales. Arguably the best track in the game is "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlokRNcURKM Another World]]"[[labelnote:*]] not to be confused with the ''VideoGame/{{Undertale}}'' track of the same name[[/labelnote]], the background music for the space-themed levels, which is an otherworldly-sounding and ethereal theme that excellently captures the feeling of journeying through a space travel-influenced dream land.
* The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xn7uz8iL2Gs first track]] used for Minnesota Fats' [[TheGoomba first opponent]], Tina, in the game ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minnesota_Fats:_Pool_Legend Minnesota Fats - Pool Legend]]'' for the Platform/SegaSaturn is quite the bop that stands out from the rest of the tracks by sounding like something out of a Music/PaulaAbdul concert.
