Almost every single song featured in ''VisualNovel/{{Clannad}}'' will either [[SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments make you go "d'aww"]] or [[TearJerker start sniffling]]. [[TearsOfJoy Or both]].
----
* [[https://youtu.be/uI9fXifMYoY Clannad's Opening]] is amazing, both in the original and in the official [[https://youtu.be/zgB0Y_BUvFE Cuckool Mix]].
* While the opening is incredibly beautiful, the [[https://youtu.be/x4k6HWcf6jM ending]], [[https://youtu.be/qvzCmV3_12c "Dango Daikazoku"]], counts as a SugarWiki/{{Heartwarming Moment|s}}, given how... ''adorable'' it is. It even spawned a [[MemeticMutation meme]] in which the dango family in the animation were replaced with [[Franchise/{{Pokemon}} Pikachu]]. See it [[https://youtu.be/sC9UCY9bv2M here]]. (And a Pikachu version of the song, [[https://youtu.be/O1nTi4ffW6o for good measure!]])
** [[https://youtu.be/UWUBJsxbfTA "Nagisa's Theme"]] is "Dango Daikazoku" without vocals, but it has a beauty of its own. However, hearing it [[https://youtu.be/gSkocU5YsHU "combined with Eminem"]], you won't hear the theme the same way again.
** [[https://youtu.be/uaSJ_GGHCV0 "Nagisa ~ Saka no Shita Wakare" ("Nagisa ~ Parting at the Bottom of the Hill").]] At first it's played over Nagisa's death and Tomoya's subsequent vision where he left Nagisa rather than lead her to the moment where she met an untimely death, making it a TearJerker moment to start. It then becomes SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic when it's repeated after Tomoya's [[ResetButtonEnding second chance]] and realization that meeting Nagisa was the best thing that happened to him. The music starts as Nagisa survives Ushio's childbirth, leading directly into "Chiisana Tenohira" to highlight a [[SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome wonderful ending]].
** The song is basically symbolic of Tomoya's feelings about Nagisa over the entire series. In the first season, it's adorable and twee. In the second half of the second series, it is heartrendingly sad (especially when Tomoya sings it to Ushio).
%%** If we're talking about dango, better add Music/BustaRhymes [[https://youtu.be/puHyO5JNOE0 here]].
%%Why? This is zero-context as written.
* [[https://youtu.be/i67ZXLPeg9s "Chiisana Tenohira"]], the final version of "Dango Daikazoku" played during the GoldenEnding, is especially moving after [[EarnYourHappyEnding Tomoya finally sets everything right.]]
** [[https://youtu.be/mSZhAHrf8z4 Lia's version]] of this song is just as beautiful.
** The [[https://youtu.be/_tZ19UZo-WQ Piano Version]] is quite lovely, as is the [[https://youtu.be/DeZPOekxFz0 New Seasons Mix]].
** Then there's the [[https://youtu.be/LBirhgPGpM8 eufonis version]], same singer who sang the opening for the visual novel.
* The epic TearJerker, [[https://youtu.be/qi7QyhkGJ88 "The Place Where Wishes Come True"]].
** Also [[https://youtu.be/Tix_s6K9NU0 "The Place Where Wishes Come True II"]], played in two of the important reconciliation scenes.
** And then there's the vocal versions: [[https://youtu.be/zjGNTiYFFdc Lia's version]] and [[https://youtu.be/Zjy884Buc10 Aoi Tada's version]], neither of which, unfortunately, [[CutSong were used in the series]], but the latter version WAS used (to great effect) in fanmade visual novel ''Clannad: The Past Path''. [[http://clannadppvisualproject.wordpress.com/downloads/ Check it out here.]]
* [[https://youtu.be/RAXjtldHwTY "To the Same Heights"]] is one of the many emotional piano pieces in the soundtrack.
** And the [[https://youtu.be/VaoV8mtH2TU remix version]] used in the basketball scene in the anime.
** The [[https://youtu.be/EsMTLkuMBp4 Piano Arrangement Version]] is no slouch either.
** This track gets reworked into ''~After Story~''[='=]s OP song, [[https://youtu.be/t0oQ4HavoUU "Toki wo Kizamu Uta"]], which counts as a SugarWiki/{{Heartwarming Moment|s}} and a TearJerker. Directly translated, it means "The Song of Ticking Time," which, put in context, is perfectly symbolic of Tomoya's love for Nagisa. The lyrics are absolutely [[TearJerker heartrending]] when placed in context with the series:
---> "I loved you, and you alone. That song I sang with you, and you alone. That time ticked for us, and us together. And now you want me to go on alone? No! I won't!"
%%* [[https://youtu.be/z_67RDMBEuQ "Distant Years"]]. Cue rivers of tears.
%%* Then there's [[https://youtu.be/ftil0iicKQk Cherry Blossom Petal]].
* The ending for every arc in the ''VisualNovel/{{Clannad}}'' visual novel, [[https://youtu.be/u6_9PbsAuWs "Kage Futatsu"]], helps deliver a satisfying closure to each route.
%%* Ushio's Theme, [[https://youtu.be/b2c8zfWQgkU "Shining in the Sky"]].
%%* [[https://youtu.be/ElNwSmAgCGc "Ten Thousand Miracles"]]. Just listen to it.
%%* [[https://youtu.be/Wpb3XRGZfFU "Memories of a Distant Journey"]]. Simply amazing.
* [[https://youtu.be/wrH0nVv8hbI "The Girl's Fantasy"]]. Ambient, breathtaking, enchanting, and downright hypnotic.
* [[https://youtu.be/yTkCJxUKzYw "Over"]]. Melancholy, yet upbeat. Heartbreaking. Played in Episode 18 when ''Clannad'' employed the CleaningUpRomanticLooseEnds mechanism.
* The GaidenGame, ''Tomoyo After ~It's a Wonderful Life~'' also has an excellent soundtrack. The opening song, [[https://youtu.be/K9h9MJFbO1w "Light colors"]], and the ending, [[https://youtu.be/4YriByfkn8w "Life is Like a Melody"]], in particular, are just ''amazing''.
* [[https://youtu.be/9ZrWOSiYJjg "Nagisa Warm Theme Piano"]] is possibly one of the most heartwarming themes on Clannad. When Tomoya finally meets Nagisa and decides that meeting her was the best thing that could have happened in his life this music is the best. It depicts quite well the love of Tomoya toward Nagisa.
* [[https://youtu.be/fOXW8DDSH9Q "Town, Flow of Time, People"]] plays whenever something sudden or amazing is happening; which means it plays at many of the greatest moments. A worthy song for it, too. Sometimes specifically starts at around 1:45 to maximize the music's impact.
** Although it's not the first piece of music heard in the visual novel itself, bonus points in that it starts off the first episode of the anime.
** Someone took this song and reversed it, and it's oddly still beautiful. [[https://youtu.be/hLdmvw_F92c It must be heard to be believed.]]
** [[https://youtu.be/1AG4wFOe8c8 The vocal version]] of the same song is just as great and moving.
* [[https://youtu.be/vdk_76z38bA "Roaring Tides"]], a theme which, like "Town, Flow of Time, People", plays during some of the important scenes. [[https://youtu.be/BMqtkQcYyxA "Roaring Tides II"]] and [[https://youtu.be/VNSq1qf5ZFk "Snowfield"]] are also both gorgeous songs.
* [[https://youtu.be/adhFhMpIe7g "A New Life Reborn"]] plays only twice in the series, but is honestly one of the most effective pieces due to the placement.
* [[https://youtu.be/I011ZAB_BXg "Komorebi (Sunlight Shining Through the Trees)"]]: [[TearJerker heartbreakingly]] beautiful.
* [[https://youtu.be/hXKblOkccvs "Fuko's Theme"]] - impossible to listen to [[SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments without smiling!]]
* [[https://youtu.be/CKplzJRAuGo "Ana"]], used to great effect during Kyou and Tomoyo's endings in the novel, and at several points in the anime such as during the conclusion of the Fuko story arc.
