A great majority of this DoorStopper level of awesome music can be attributed to Music/KotaHoshino, composer at Creator/FromSoftware ''and'' head of its music team, "[=FreQuency=]".
----
* ''Armored Core 1 (Project Phantasma, Master of Arena)'':
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3fxyw4FH0U "Ambiguity"]] from ''Armored Core 1'' is downright beautiful. It perfectly captures the tragic nature of every ''Armored Core'' world, and the sometimes terrible things that the player does to get ahead in those worlds.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCt31W7yUUk "9"]], from ''Master of Arena'', shows up at the end of the game, wherein you'll be facing Nineball, in his Nineball Seraph, for one last time. The only lyric is simple yet powerful enough to provide your only goal.
--->Destroy Nineball.
*** Nine-Ball's remix theme from ''VideoGame/AnotherCenturysEpisode R'', [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FPwjdaOhaw "Nine -novem-"]], in which you not only face him in a different mech this time around, but also have a PLAYABLE version for one mission later on.
*** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SaX1yT2Uu4 9 (King of No.9 edition)]] is unique as you'll hear the lyrics earlier than expected, on top of hearing distortions before the familiar tune comes up.
%%*** The same music was used in ''Another Age'' and again (with its [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5zQMjiDrtc remake]]) on ''Nexus''.
%%** In the ''Armored Core'' games of old, there was the single player menu music [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-ykG6lle8w "Shape Memory Alloys"]], as well as the ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umAbxRTRyvI AC2]]'' and ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iq52vjTFMtM Nexus]]'' remixes.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bib1ALjlfNE "Apex in the Circle"]] from ''Master of Arena'', and its [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rst4SvxMt3A remix]] from ''Nexus''.
* From ''Armored Core 2'', [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czvJtf28-F0 "King Lear".]] Plays during Leos Klein's MotiveRant, and sets the stage beautifully.
* ''Armored Core 3 (Silent Line, Nexus, Nine Breaker, Last Raven, Formula Front)'':
** All four [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EiNKjHHLNc versions]] of "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_P14FlamqU Silent]] Line", from the game of the same name.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJMZQ-pTjpg Artificial Line]] sets an epic tone for your battle with the IBIS in ''Silent Line''.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0HRB0yGFCc Artificial Sky IV]] in the end, as well as [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uP-6ymEgH74 "On Satteloid"]] in ''Armored Core 3''.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeC2JdqgfJw "Blue Braze"]] from ''3'' is real sweet.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gPhsPaa8HE "Galaxy Heavy Blow"]] plays during two important boss fights - against Genobee near the end of ''Nexus'', and against Nine-Ball at the end of ''Nine Breaker''.
%%** The opening theme to ''Formula Front'', [[http://youtu.be/9ryVoHtxxyo "Fake Facer"]].
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqCA1Udh718 "Shining"]] from ''Nexus''.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTDnRDOO-VA "Red Butterfly"]], another awesome track from ''Nexus''.
* ''VideoGame/ArmoredCore4'':
** The intro and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-XQELx4-b8 Overture]], both of which are chillingly good. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_YbIwyhT68 "Mr. Adam"]] is also great.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2Nud4kLLQg "Panther"]], which is perhaps one of the best songs for an opening stage, and comes back again in "Marche Au Supplice", which pits you against four of the best pilots in the game, and even without any allies on Hard, and the song only escalates the battle into a SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome as you hear the enemies' [[OhCrap disbelief]] if you begin to take them out.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMNo8z-FVV4 "Rain"]] is beautiful.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYHv1h7-12E "Thinker"]] is absolutely amazing. To add to this remarkable song, an Music/OverClockedRemix called [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pDe2bRJLqQ "Goodbye, Thinker"]] takes this action-packed war song and makes it hauntingly beautiful. Both amazing tracks. [=FreQuency=] later remixed this track in the form of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBXhik9kt7U "Thinker -reprise-"]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diTUPGCBobA "Fall",]] the final boss theme. An intense, fast-paced fight song with an awesome DesertPunk-ish combination of guitar, drums and [[OminousLatinChanting vocals]]. Then you realize that the lyrics are in English. [[TearJerker Then you realize what they're saying...]]
--->I've already fallen\
I don't want to fight you\
It's that I fall in you
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moGbUeXMl5E "Fall -Into Grace-"]], an action packed remix of "Fall" from the ''Sunrise'' album.
* ''VideoGame/ArmoredCoreForAnswer'':
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omcG1oJ6i8o "Someone is Always Moving on the Surface"]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofLUejugHUI "Today"]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_7BR0lbIqE "Curtain Fall"]], and the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-w-F0HVhTc Outro]].
** The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2tyuG3Mjm0 "Spirit of Motherwill".]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pt_d9YJgyqg It also has a more awesome remix]], seeing as how its wreckage appears in ''Verdict Day'' and [[LegacyBossBattle you can fight it again.]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEsY1Wljl0w "Remember"]] from ''For Answer'', its remix [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWOxJ5NpIy8 "Remember ~ on your memory",]] and ''another'' remix in ''Verdict Day'' as [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6gOSF5SR-s "Mechanized Memories"]] for the final boss, N-WGIX/v/ White Glint.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDbIJy8b_n0 "The Answer"]] plays during certain versions of the final mission, and is nearly the title track of the game for a reason. The finality of what this song represents is unmistakable with the showstopping tone, and use of a chorus saying 'amen' over and over as the primary vocal component.
* ''VideoGame/ArmoredCoreV'': [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gL0lrM03H0 "V for Two"]], the song on the [[http://www.armoredcore.net/acvd/ teaser page]] on the official Japanese website, is a pretty cool piece of music.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozHdnvOxgZc "Vanishing"]] from one of ''Armored Core V''[='=]s trailers.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9fnyVD7eL4 "Lament Over the Howling Age"]], which was the Garage theme from the closed beta.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkP7RpSkKCM "Mecha Dinosaur"]].
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnvqcSKho5w "Stain",]] the theme of the final boss, Chief.
* ''VideoGame/ArmoredCoreVerdictDay'':
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orLgPpGVNkY "Day After Day"]], which plays in the "No future for mercs" trailer. Along with the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-EuE1lSF5w live version,]] a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ql8KgsC7vjE cover,]] and its [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0N7FeK4uJ0 20th Anniversary Edit,]] which is almost as good as the real thing.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJM2NjgYmhA "Connected",]] which plays when you first turn on ''Verdict Day'', is awe-inspiring and sets the tone for the entire game.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2p0G0twmo78 "Dirty Worker"]], which plays during the first mission, is a perfect blend of ''Armored Core''[='=]s old and current music direction while setting that feel of the next evolution in ''Armored Core''.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvygSumlNuo "The Perfect Rose"]], the track for the workshop, never gets old.
** Each of the three factions has their own theme, all of which make scrolling through the main menu an enjoyable experience; [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyISSjQiTvY "Venide"]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=va_K0xWpBRk "Sirius Executives"]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZmq7cMkiR0 "Evergreen Family"]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aq6oonVPIl8 "Vendetta"]] manages to make a [[BossRush five-on-one AC battle]] more awesome than it already is.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_HcM7iQJxY "Death Count",]] which is the menu music for [[BrutalBonusLevel Hard]][[SelfImposedChallenge core]] mode. It gets the point across.
** The game got some Soundtrack DLC, which means more awesome music. This is mostly remixes of old songs, most notably another remix of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5vup40fUl4 "9"]], a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecxsCas8UQA "Cosmos"]] remix that replaces the final boss theme (which is also from ''For Answer''), and a remix of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYWo84D2-L0 "Dirty Worker"]] which has [[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments Fatman singing the song]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeYxaddDK1U "Stain (A Perfect Day)"]] is an even creepier remix of the original "Stain" from V; a perfect match for the grueling LegacyBossBattle with the Exusia found in the Far East's Special Sortie.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyW1jq9_PAQ "Forgive an Angel"]] is amazing.
%%** The theme for when you fight [[FaceHeelTurn Maggie]], aptly named [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYI6iIw1rH0 "Blue Magnoria".]]
%%** "Mecha Dinosaur" from ''ACV'' gets a remix called [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDsH8cBZxvo "Scavengers"]].
* ''VideoGame/ArmoredCoreVIFiresOfRubicon'':
** [[https://youtu.be/G05eOGQb4rI "Contact With You"]] initially appears to be the boss theme of the infamous [[ThatOneBoss Balteus]] and is a subtle if haunting techno piece that sounds oddly hopeful for a boss fight. However, once you know the song's name combined with the context of what just happened in the story, you'll realize it isn't a boss theme for Balteus at all. It's the theme of C4-621 and Ayre, a pair that will become the driving force behind the ultimate fate of Rubicon 3. If 621 sides with Ayre and Rubicon in the endgame, it even comes back for 621's wholesale asskicking of both Arquebus and Overseer, serving as a TriumphantReprise by changing the context of its playing rather than the song itself. Adding to this is a deep, thumping drum in the background that gives off the impression of one's heart beating in their ears.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHk6EFPbF58 "Rough and Decent"]] and its reprise [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6CEk0Qv6js "Rough and Decent (Bad Joke)"]] from ''Armored Core VI'' combine jazz elements with the game's dark synths to create a theme that is both playful and menacing at the same time, a perfect fit for "Cinder" Carla.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suEYK2V44fcf "Stargazer"]] is a song that only plays after clearing the True Ending of ''Armored Core VI''. It's very much a classic Kota Hoshino song, upbeat and very catchy, and gives off a sense of "we're back," which fits well with ''VI'' being the first game that the series has gotten in a decade.
* ''Sunrise'' remixes:
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdPYnPuOuDo "Days"]] is an epic arrangement that combines elements of ''Armored Core 3'', ''Armored Core 4'', and ''ACV'' music into a track with a fantastic climax.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlGyfXicdCM "Remain"]] is distinctly ''ACV''-style, suited to a climactic battle of some sort.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGm3leO746Q "Life In Ash"]] rather neatly captures the overall tone of the franchise - pulse-pounding, toe-tapping, but unmistakably tragic. It's an impressive feat.
* ''[[GreatestHitsAlbum Armored Core Original Soundtrack 20th Anniversary Box]]'' contains nearly all the songs listed here.
** [[https://https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2dWgi35qbY Fallout]] was eventually used for a music video centered around ''[[VideoGame/MetalWolfChaos Metal Wolf Chaos XD]]''.
** [[https://youtu.be/7ANxCNhHHVM Day After Day (ACVD PV edition)]] is a unique remix, in which the first half uses the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2G2f34CL1w No future for mercs]] side then switches to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=US9DYHukQB4 JP trailer]] near the end.
** [[https://youtu.be/qb64mAOwLC8 Reminiscence]] stands out not just for its intense instrumental phase, but for its use of ''soft'' lead-ups and equally-soft endings around them.
** Despite being used as an ending theme for a [[https://youtu.be/Uz99_9CbbO4 college film project, "Cyberdive"]], [[https://youtu.be/h40PhvIfhK4 Dive into the Flame]] perfectly captures the energy and exhilaration of the entire ''Armored Core'' series as a whole.
%%** "In the Universe".
