For a game that could considered UnwinnableByDesign, VideoGame/TheStanleyParable has plenty of its own awesome moments.
----
* Getting the achievement "Click On Door 430 Five Times". It's an exact opposite of ThatOneAchievement, in that it's actually really fun to get. When you click on door 430 five times, the narrator asks if the player is just doing this for the achievement. The narrator then says that's not worth the achievement, and has the player running around the office interacting with seemingly random stuff, getting more and more excited as it progresses. The procedure culminates with a BigYes from the narrator once the achievement unlocks. What's more awesome is the achievement's badge.
** In Ultra Deluxe, this sequence has a bug. One of the doors you are required to click is 416, but whenever the "New Content" door is present, it replaces this door. While there is another door 416 in the area behind the door, it doesn't have the coding that is necessary for it to count as 416 for the purpose of this sequence, making it impossible to complete. There is, however, an easy workaround: when you are asked to click on 416, proceed to the boss's office and briefly walk in and back out as if you were doing the Escape Pod Ending. When you do this, the New Content door is temporarily disabled and replaced with the door 416 which is required for this achievement. Yes, the narrator is supposed to be disabled at this point, but he will still speak here.
* There are people who fairly beat the Baby minigame. And yes, it really is four hours. The Art ending may not be as spectacular as they wanted, but they sure as hell earned it!
* The "Real Person" ending while it is a bit of a GuideDangIt, by unplugging the phone which normally leads to the Pawn ending. It completely makes the story go OffTheRails to the point where even resets can't fix the game, and eventually the Narrator decides to prevent you from taking control of Stanley anymore, leaving him to beg a motionless Stanley to make the iconic "two door choice" to no avail, which gives off the impression for as much as the narrator boasts that he is in control, he needs the player in order to make choices to advance the story at all. Roll credits, and realize that you've kind of beaten the Narrator at his own game.
* The "Confusion" Ending, simply for being able to go through a bunch of doors that are usually locked. And of course, THE STANLEY PARABLE ADVENTURE LINE™.
* The Countdown Ending. The Narrator takes the control the player is thought to desire over the mind control machine, and he flips it on their head. He then lights up many arrays of buttons to dupe you into thinking there's a way to survive. A terrifyingly epic jab at the video game player's habit of seeking a way to win.
** There are still some people who keep trying to find a way to stop the Countdown Ending, even throwing folklore into the mix to solutions as to stop it, even though the Narrator clearly asserts that there isn't.
* In the basement, according to the narration -- Stanley suddenly realized, and proceeded to shout out, "I'M DREAMING!" before becoming lucid and flying through a black field of stars. Bad end, but still -- not many stories have captured the excitement of a lucid dream so well.
* You might consider the Zending to be one if you really don't like the Narrator. Especially if you move back and forth from the Zen room and the Stairs room, toying with his emotions in the process.
* For most games, once you own the main game, there's no reason to ever play the demo as it's just a small chunk of the whole. Not the case here. The demo for The Stanley Parable shares almost no content with the main game. Despite this, it does a far better job at illustrating what to expect from the main game than most demos could ever hope to do.
* After not hearing much more on the game, or its creators, for a long time, a trailer for a new UpdatedRerelease was shown during the Game Awards, boasting more endings and content, as well as ports for consoles. Looks like Stanley isn't done just yet.
** Even more awesome is the description on the announcement trailer itself:
--->When The Stanley Parable came out, a lot of people asked us for more endings and more content.\
We told them it didn't need more content, that it was fine just the way it was, that it already had the perfect number of endings.\
What a sorry sack of lies that was.\
We knew it. We knew it were lying and we did it anyway. We’ve carried that shame around with us for years, a burden weighing on every moment of every day.\
Enough is enough.\
It’s time to fix this, to unburden our shame. Let us give you our shame, for you to carry it around instead. We’re sick of it.\
From the liars who brought you the award winning indie game The Stanley Parable comes The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, an expansion to the original game with more content, more endings, more whimsical adventures of the two best friends Stanley and The Narrator. Coming to PC and consoles in 2019.\
Tastefully seasoned with the bitter remorse of having deceived so many loyal fans for so long.\
But seriously, this time it’s done. No more.
