7	* A small one. When Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon and the Queen's forces open the door and see Darth Maul there, all of the Naboo Guards put their weapons up and looked scared out of their mind. Watch Captain Panaka. He just looks as calm as ever and levels his blaster at Maul. The only reason he leaves is because the Queen told him to. That man is a badass!
8	* Qui-Gon has three of these moments:
9	** When he's cutting up, then melting down the blast door, while the Force Theme plays on the soundtrack. Credit also goes to how, when the Federation brings in another blast door, he [[ImplacableMan basically just shrugs and keeps cutting]].

14	*** [[ShowDontTell A perfect microcosm for the differences between Jedi and Sith]], as well. The Jedi Master is serene and patient, the Padawan is eager to finish the fight, and the Sith just wants to kill something.
15	* The EstablishingCharacterMoment for the droidekas. The Jedi have just carved their way through the battle droids with ease, and then these two droids show up. It's an honest-to-goodness stalemate - the Jedi aren't in any danger of being killed, but there's no way in heck they can destroy the droidekas.
16	* The Qui Gon/Obi Wan/Maul duel is arguably ''the'' best choreographed fight in all of Star Wars.
17	** SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The Darth Maul/Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan lightsaber battle music (Duel of the Fates) has become a marching band staple and is one of the best compositions ever created by Music/JohnWilliams.
18	** Even a significant number among the people who despise this movie admit to loving this particular battle, it is ''that'' good. Ray Park, Liam Neeson, and Ewan [=McGregor=] really did the fight themselves at the full speed seen.
19	** Made even better by the fact that the Obi-Wan/Darth Maul part of the fight, up until Obi-Wan is thrown into the pit, is completely silent. There's no music, only the sound of lightsabers and battle. It adds weight to the entire scene.
20	** We also get to see, for what was then the first time, a Sith Lord in its prime fighting two Jedi Knights in their prime. They fight with speed, power and on the Jedi's end, coordination, as they use their ability to fight together to seemingly drive Maul back... [[OhCrap until Maul gets them separated]] and steals the advantage, mortally wounding the Jedi Master before facing down Obi-Wan.
21	** In the wider lore, this battle serves as Obi-Wan's Trial of Skill that he successfully completes as he defeats Darth Maul with nothing but his lightsaber skills and trust in the Force.

28	* Obi-Wan using the Force to not only pull himself out of the pit but also grabbing Qui-Gon's lightsaber and then flipping over a stunned Maul and cutting him in half. When Qui-Gon told him earlier he would be a great Jedi knight, he wasn't kidding. [[Film/RevengeOfTheSith It's a move Obi-wan's apprentice would later attempt]], with far less successful results. Maul [[MemeticMutation had the high ground,]] but even that wasn't enough to stop Obi-Wan.
29	** The fact that he overpowers Maul for a while counts as well. He's up against an opponent superior to him in both swordplay and physical power, is battling against grief and anger that are trying to pull him to the dark side (the novelization touched upon this) and that he manages to channel all this to be stronger than before shows how much potential he still has. He even manages to cut Maul's double lightsaber in half leaving him to fight with only one end.
30	** Pay close attention to Maul's facial expressions and movements during this section of the duel. He seems [[OhCrap increasingly perplexed]] as his previously-outmatched foe drives him back, with his increased desperation leading to him overextending several times. A surprisingly subtle and effective bit of physical acting by Ray Park and the choreography team.
31	** Obi-Wan's badassery is shown even earlier as well. Despite Maul holding off him and Qui-Gon simultaneously, Obi-Wan shows no fear when his master falls behind, [[UnflinchingWalk calmly striding]] towards Maul and nonchalantly [[BringIt twirling his saber.]] See it [[https://youtu.be/yHqdESArkqU?t=26s here.]]
32	** It should also be noted that, odd Dark Jedi aside, no Jedi has fought a lightsaber-wielding opponent for a thousand years, and most Jedi wouldn't have practiced much with double-bladed lightsabers. Here, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan do pretty darn well against a foe they're completely unfamiliar with.
33	* R2-D2's EstablishingCharacterMoment, in which he singlehandedly saves the ship while all of his fellow astro droids are being blown up.
34	* The credits end with Vader's breathing.
35	* The heroes using a ShellGame to outwit the Trade Federation forces during the final battle.
36	** Not to mention the bit where [[ActionGirl Sabe]] [[RefugeInAudacity marches into the room in full queenly garb]], issues a PreAsskickingOneLiner, and head-shots two Droids as easily as if she was reaching for the tea.
37	*** The fact that she did this solely to create a distraction and draw off most of the guards, [[UndyingLoyalty allowing her captured Queen]] to go for the blasters hidden in the throne and subdue the remaining Trade Federation leadership.
38	*** Made even better with the fact that the handmaiden in question is none other than [[Franchise/PiratesOfTheCaribbean Keira Knightley]], being an ActionGirl before she became a big name.
39	*** Watch closely during the palace scenes. Padme's handmaidens are [[ActionGirl fighting alongside her and her guards]], and Sabe can be seen during the hangar shootout in her attention-grabbing (and probably fire-drawing) Queenly garb.
40	** The blasters in the throne themselves. The Naboo may be peaceful, but they are CrazyPrepared.

Made even better by him looking at Obi-Wan who has a look that basically says "I'll pay up later."

47	* A kickass poster at time of release was of Anakin walking across Tatooine as his shadow cast is that of Darth Vader. Even better is that it was drawn by legendary poster artist Drew Struzan. At least one variant shows the ominous tagline "Never look back".
48	* The fact that a voluntary security force managed to overpower the Trade Federation counts as one.
49	* The fact that the Gungan Army-made up of volunteers and a few veteran guards and militia men- was able to give the Trade Federation a fairly even battle. This 'band of primitives' manages to hold their own against a vastly superior force, only breaking and running when their force field is finally broken. Even them breaking and running is less a rout and more a tactical scatter to make the enemy artillery fire as ineffective as possible. Losing the shield means the Gungans are down, not out.
50	** And don't forget that their primary goal was to [[WeNeedADistraction draw the bulk of the droid army out of the city]]. As soon as the Trade Federation chose to meet the Gungans on the field of battle, the door was wide open for Padme's team to [[StormingTheCastle storm the palace]], retake the hangar, and launch their starfighter attack against the Droid Control Ship. No Gungan Army, no chance of defeating the Trade Federation occupation force.
51	** ''Jar Jar Binks himself'', '''''of all people''''', gives a BadassBoast about the Gungan military just when it seems like both his people and Padme's are doomed to be slowly tortured and exterminated by the Trade Federation. Which is what really inspires her to go back to Naboo to fight the Trade Federation, and to make peace between their two peoples.

64	* Padme and her handmaidens really can't be separated in this episode; a CMOA for one of them is a CMOA for all of them. That being said, Sabe's quick thinking and ability to keep her cool when the slightest misstep will spell all of their deaths ''and'' she's not able to openly consult with her queen? BadassNormal. When Qui-Gon is asking the "Queen" to come to Coruscant, and Panaka is asking her to remain on Naboo, Sabe says that "Either choice presents grave danger. . . to us all," while turning to Padme, who replies "We are brave, Your Highness." A seemingly innocent phrase, but clearly a verbal code to let Sabe know which choice the real Queen was making.
65	* The pod-race finale. Sure, it was more the folly of Sebulba rather than direct actions on the part of Anakin, but just watching Sebulba's ginormous pod engines smash into an oncoming rock at 500 MPH as Anakin's tiny little thing cruises majestically on by was certainly a SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome.
66	** Additional credit should be given here to the sound design, which not only emphasized the incredible speed and power of the pods, but also made each one distinct in its own way, from Ani's high-pitched, jet-like screaming to Sebulba's low, pulsing sound similar to a speedboat.
67	** Some credit has to be given to Anakin though. Not only did he build a podracer fast enough to catch up to the leaders after stalling and missing half a lap, but when one of the engines caught fire, he powered down the engine, then quickly using the remaining engine's power to restart it, all while steering the damn thing. There's a reason he's TheChosenOne.
68	** Finally, it is awesome to watch as Anakin's pod collides into Sebulba's resulting in the two racers being side by side. Anakin freeing himself while simultaneously destabilizing Sebulba's is cathartic to watch, especially as the former [[{{Overdrive}} accelerates to maximum speed in a final burst of acceleration]] to just barely coast past the finish line. All as Sebulba screams in terror as his pod breaks apart.
69	* To those who were sufficiently well-read in ''Star Wars'' lore to recognize his name, the entire film was a Moment of Awesome for Palpatine: manipulating events to get himself elected Chancellor, as the first step in taking over the galaxy.
