!! Season 1
* The first time the rangers morph, Zordon teleports them to the city to deal with Goldar and the putties. As they leave, this dialogue sets the tone for the whole franchise:
-->'''Billy''': We're teleporting again.\
'''Kimberly''': Where are we going?\
'''Jason''': We're going to save the world.
** Another one from Jason in the first episode. When the teens are first teleported to the Command Center and Zordon is trying to explain the upcoming threat, Jason says, "Let's hear what he has to say". In that moment, Jason Lee Scott proved why he was chosen as the leader of the Power Rangers.
* "High Five":
** We learn that Trini has a fear of heights. Later on, after she and Billy lure a group of Putties away from the others, Billy gets cornered by a single Putty on a cliff and can't morph as he dropped his Power Morpher. Trini overcomes her fear to help him.
** Trini gets another one by taking Bones' head and dropping it into a lava pit.
* The episodes "A Pressing Engagement" and "Different Drum" have three for unmorphed humans (one which cannot even morph). First, it's the Juice Bar record for most reps: ''1,009'', held by ''[[BadassNormal Bulk]]'', of all people. Then, at the end of "A Pressing Engagement", Jason finally breaks it at ''1,010''. Finally, at the start of "A Different Drum" we see Jason losing an arm-wrestling match... To ''Trini''.
* One of Finster's most devastating monsters, Pudgy Pig from "Food Fight", nearly defeated the Power Rangers... by ''[[ExtremeOmnivore eating their Power Weapons]]''. Had they not discovered it couldn't take spicy food, the series would have ended with Rita's victory then and there, even before the rise of the Green Ranger.
** ''Topped'' in "Power Rangers Punks", where Terror Toad eats ''four out of five Rangers''. Sure, Kim is able to get them out of his stomach and destroy the monster, but it still ''ate four Power Rangers''.
* In "No Clowning Around", the ''[[CurbStompBattle annihilation]]'' of the MonsterOfTheWeek. The Rangers first immobilized it with the ''individual Zords'', and then literally ''disintegrated it'' (not blown up, just hit it so hard it disappeared) with the rarely used Cranial Laser. [[MamaBear It shouldn't have turned Trini's cousin Sylvia into a cardboard cutout]]...
* "Power Ranger Punks":
** We get a scene of Zordon pre-imprisonment facing a horde of Putties. [[OneManArmy One against many, they were evenly matched]]... Then he grabbed the Singing Squash plant he was trying to retrieve and ''wiped them out''.
** There was need of a new Singing Squash to bring Kim and Billy back to normal after Baboo turned them into punks. Alpha did it... Complete with defeating a horde of Putties.
** [[MonsterOfTheWeek Terror Toad]] has eaten all Rangers but Kimberly, and is being supported by Baboo. [[AttackItsWeakPoint A salvo of arrows in the neck later]], the Rangers were back. Another arrow down the throat, Terror Toad ''exploded''. And Baboo was running after getting hit by an arrow from the salvo.
*** On that last point: With no time to give chase, Kim summons her Power Bow, fires... and we see the arrow flying around the forest ''like a guided missile'' after the escaping Terror Toad, dodging around trees before destroying the monster. So what did we learn? That the Pink Ranger carries around, as her standard weapon, a ''lightweight easy-to-use rocket-powered grenade launcher with unlimited ammunition''.
---->'''Kimberly''': Nobody messes with my friends.
* "Foul Play in the Sky" is all about Kimberly being awesome. Rita's plan got her trapped on a plane she doesn't know how to fly and with the pilot asleep and Bulk and Skull terrified onboard while [[MonsterOfTheWeek Snizzard]] was taking care of the others thanks to [[AttackReflector his apple-like head crest that reflects energy attacks]] and energy-draining snakes, and Kimberly replies by ''learning how to pilot normal planes [[{{Pun}} on the fly]]'' (with some assistance from Alpha, but still ''very'' hard), [[BigDamnHeroes coming to the battle just in time to stop Snizzard from killing them]], [[OneWomanArmy single-handedly wasting the squadron of Putties]] that Snizzard sicked on her, and then using her Power Bow to kill the monster by ''WilliamTelling'' (the apple-like AttackReflector was just there... And ''exploded'' when hit).
* The "Green With Evil" story arc contains a lot of these:
** Tommy beating a whole squadron of putties on his own. This was ''before'' he got his powers. When the rest of the team first encountered putties they got their asses kicked. Tommy showed his badass credentials by defeating several of them easily.
** The Green Ranger taking on the Megazord and ''winning''. Plus, there's ''how'' he did it: he ''broke in the cockpit and wrecked that''.
* Jason fights Goldar and then evil Tommy... unmorphed! Sure, he doesn't win, but facing those two when they were at their badass peak and surviving? Awesome.
-->'''Goldar:''' No human has ever defeated me!\
'''Jason:''' [[TheDeterminator I'm gonna change that!]]
** The Green Ranger runs wild until the fourth part, when he finally gets a check. Who hands him his first (mild) defeat? ''Alpha 5'', courtesy of the back-up system he installed in case the Green Ranger broke in the Command Center and shut him off again and a voice-commanded forcefield. Sure, he still completes his job and is broken out by Rita later, but until then it had taken the ''Megazord'' to actually threaten him.
** Rita orchestrating another defeat of the Megazord by getting it to fight Goldar, Scorpina and the Green Ranger, all giants, and then ''blotting out the sun'', taking away the Megazord's power source. And as soon as the Megazord is defeated she quickly traps the Zords into lava to make sure they wouldn't be recoverable.
*** To the Megazord's credit, until the Green Ranger arrived it was ''winning'', even with the sun blotted.
** Alpha 5 re-establishing contact with Zordon. The BigGood can then tell them how to break Rita's spell and also brings the Zords back. In other words, the battle shifted in the Power Rangers' favor the ''instant'' Zordon returned. No wonder Evil!Tommy's first action was to trash the Command Center.
** The Dinozords triumphantly returning, roaring (or in the Mastodon's case, trumpeting) as they rise out of the lava pocket Rita had trapped them in.
** Tyrannosaurus Dinozord, and later Megazord versus Dragonzord.
** One of the most memorable moments in the entire franchise: Jason finally defeating Tommy in a climactic battle at the end of the story arc.
** In Part 5, Jason is the only one of the Rangers who isn't ready to throw in the towel after suffering a string of defeats at the Green Ranger's hands. It isn't until the other four realize that Tommy is the Green Ranger that they regain their resolve to fight.
** The glorious moment when Tommy finally completes his HeelFaceTurn and joins the team as the SixthRanger. For added awesome, the Rangers combine the Dinozords and the Dragonzord for a new configuration.
*** This moment becomes even more awesome given how long Tommy's tenure as a Ranger lasted. The writers had no idea how true Zordon's words were that they were witnessing history in the making. And all because Tommy's friends refused to abandon him. Even in ''Series/PowerRangersDinoThunder'', Tommy says he would not be where he is today if not for his friends.
** Giving credit where it's due: Rita orchestrated a very effective plan to take down the Power Rangers, and executed it masterfully and with a surprising dose of savvyness with such moves as having the Green Ranger thrash the Command Center and get Zordon out of the way as the opening, send the Green Ranger in ''again'' to make sure Zordon could not return (and indeed Alpha was seconds away from restoring the link when Tommy deactivated him and broke the link again), [[NoKillLikeOverkill use a Zord against Rangers on foot]], and [[WhyDontYouJustShootHim getting furious when the Green Ranger decided to toy with the Power Rangers instead of squashing them immediately]]. The ''only'' reason she lost is the aforementioned decision of Tommy to fool around, as it gave Alpha enough time to recover Zordon and, with him, the Megazord.
** The way Green Ranger gives his ultimatum at the end of Part 1.
--->'''Tommy:''' To the fall of the Power Rangers! I'll destroy you one and all! ''(the episode ends with his EvilLaugh echoing)''
** The entire arc is one to the whole team, as they proved their competence and resolve, regardless of how much the latter wavered, while deprived of Zordon and Alpha's aid or any external supernatural forces. The teens are forced to somewhat grow up in different ways. For example, this is where Billy's expertise with the Command Center technology would be improved as he has to make repairs to Alpha and the base, resulting in technological skills that would continue all the way to ''Zeo''. As for Zack, he proves himself a capable second-in-command when Jason is captured. Trini's ability to interpret Billy's Technobabble is more necessary due to the above. Kimberly doesn't get as much of a growth jumpstart here as hers already occured earlier, but she still proves herself to be emotionally strong through all this. And of course, there's Jason defeating Tommy and destroying the Sword of Darkness, freeing Tommy from Rita's evil grip. If Tommy Oliver is the greatest Ranger that ever served, it is only because he has the most amazing friends anyone could ask for.
* Ah, "Life's A Masquerade." Let's count the moments, shall we?
** When Finster's Frankenstein monster is seen for the first time.
---> '''Rita:''' I want you to destroy the power rangers. Can you do it?\
'''Frakentein:''' I can!
** When a random lady forces Frankenstein to dance with her. It ends with him THROWING her into Bulk and Skull. He does the same with Skull, and at that point, the woman is already fleeing the scene.
** Towards the end of the first half of the episode, Rita floats in the air on a giant ball of super putty. By then, everyone is running in fear.
** When Frankenstein fights the rangers on foot, he blocks all of their attacks and [[CurbStompBattle obliterates them]] with his bolts. Rita then makes him grow, and none of the rangers have landed a hit on him.
** The megazord battle was INTENSE. Early on, Frakenstein blocked all of the hits and even '''LAUGHED OFF''' a direct hit on the chest from the Power Sword (which was the first of the ONLY TWO hits that the ranger got on him). After that, he wrapped his Ball and chain around the megazord and slams it on the ground TWICE before stomping on the center of its' chest plate. The moment the megazord gets up, the monster uses its' ball and chain to slam it into a building (after which he raises his arms in victory), causing it to spark like crazy and be rendered immobile. As soon as it stops malfunctioning, the monster grabs the defeated megazord and spins it around before throwing it into a SECOND building, causing it to spark EXPLOSIONS. By the time Tommy arrives on the scene, the monster has dealt '''FIFTY DAMAGING HITS''' throughout the entire battle (including the beginning of the battle with Billy) without even suffering a scratch.
* During "The Green Candle", Jason charges into the Dark Dimension to get to the candle which is draining Tommy's powers, and finds that Goldar is there guarding it. ''Without morphing'', Jason takes on Goldar in a one-on-one unmorphed fight -- and ''this'' time he ''wins''. Unfortunately Rita sends down a monster at that point which Tommy fights on his own and Jason ''has'' to leave without the candle (so as to save the lives of millions of people ''and'' help Tommy), but as a SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome, there's no way around the fact that it set the bar pretty damn high. Austin St. John called this particular fight his favorite from the show at Power Morphicon 2007.
* Another entry for Jason is the entirety of "Crystal of Nightmares". Goldar activates the crystal, which leaves the five Rangers fearful and panic-stricken. When their communicators beep, it's Jason who steps up, telling TheTeam, "I know we're scared, but we ''have'' to answer this." The world needs saving, and it's Jason who steps up, completely irrespective of his palpable terror. A few minutes later, the Rangers teleport to the cave housing the crystal. The Rangers are surrounded by putties and losing (thanks to their crystal-induced fear), but Jason sees a break and races into the cave. He then confronts Goldar (by this point, they'd established pretty strongly that there was ''one'' person who was a match for Goldar even without powers, and that's the guy wearing the red suit) and destroys the crystal with a well-placed kick.
** Even in "Doomsday", when Goldar leads a troop of putties to Billy's house (to stop Billy from repairing the team's communicators), there's a point where the four Rangers back off as Goldar approaches, but Jason raises his arms and steps forward to meet the alien warrior. Even without powers, Jason was strong enough, brave enough, and confident enough, to throw down with the guy who's capable of thrashing the entire team.
* The original Ultrazord, PR's version of MoreDakka, as it was basically a tank made of guns. When Titanus is called in, the MonsterOfTheWeek is ''screwed''. Perhaps one of the best examples is "Doomsday, Part 1". The Tyrannosaurus Dinozord and the Dragonzord in Fighting Mode are on the ropes, at the mercy of Rita's War Zord Cyclopsis after having been nailed by its shock cables. Then Titanus charges in in attack mode, blasting them free. They form the Ultrazord and blast Cyclopsis to smithereens.
** Most monsters knew this and would give up once they saw the Ultrazord. One exception was Samurai Fanman who had beaten the individual zords, the Megazord, Dragonzord, and Dragonzord Battle Mode in an ugly CurbStompBattle, so naturally he's overconfident as he charges the Ultrazord. We know what happens next.
* Speaking of Cyclopsis: "Doomsday, Part 2". After the Megazord and Dragonzord were curbstomped ''twice'' by Cyclopsis (In the second battle, Megazord lost an arm and Dragonzord its tail), Zordon and Alpha find Cyclopsis' weakness, which is that it adjusts to what it fights and can't adapt to quickly changing forms, and...let's just say that it's payback time for the rangers ''and'' the zords (this time, it's Dragonzord who destroys Cyclopsis' arm blades with its tail), but still, he's like pre-power boost Cyclopsis which pwned them anyway until they do their last few transformations which locks the system.
* "Return of An Old Friend Part 1": The Rangers' families are held prisoner. The Rangers have been forced to give up their coins. Rita seems to have won as the Rangers freak out. Then Jason notes there's one coin left and pulls it out. Cut to Ernie's as the camera shows a pair of shoes walking into the main room and slowly pans up...''"GO GREEN RANGER, GO GO!"''
* "Return of An Old Friend, Part 2": The Dragonzord had to fight ''alone'' against Goldar and Scorpina. ''It won.''
** Tommy got one himself beforehand; despite operating on potentially limited power, he makes it clear that if this ''is'' to be his last stand as the Green Ranger he'll go down fighting, holding his own against Goldar and a mass of Putties even as his power gets lower. Once he reacquires the Dragon Dagger to use it against the monsters, he addresses the Dragonzord like an old friend, vowing to give them both one last battle.
* In "Enter the Lizzinator", Jason goes up against the titular monster, who injures him by hurling a rock at him, injuring his shoulder. The monster hurls another rock, which Tommy flying kicks back at him. Tommy suggests they take him together, but Jason is unable to do so. Tommy declares that he'll give the monster a fight he won't forget and, despite Jason warning him that his powers won't hold out, charges to the Lizzinator and proceeds to ''kick his ass''.
* The "Island of Illusion" two-parter is full of them. After escaping the titular island (just before Rita blows it up) by conquering their fears and defeating a few previous monsters, the Rangers return to the Megazord and Dragonzord. Mutitis, Rita's new monster, had already whupped their butts, and after Lokar was summoned and [[OneWingedAngel gave Mutitis a boost]], slathered the Zords in toxic foam, knocking them offline. The Rangers' return wipes the foam away and makes them shining clean. Then, with Tommy with them in the cockpit, they combine into the new [=MegaDragonzord=]. They blast Mutitis, who retaliates with his own beam, but the MDZ does the whole "walk through sparks" moment, causing Mutitis to react in fear. "All right, Rangers! FULL POWER!" At Jason's command, they launch a massive energy sphere directly at Mutitis. And it doesn't just cause him to fall over and explode. It ''vaporizes him''. As in, his silhouette is seen ''disintegrating''. Now ''that's'' power.
** At which point, they proceed to summon Titanus and form the Ultrazord for the very first time. The Ultrazord's barrage is enough to drive Lokar away, causing the skies to clear.
* Minor example not related to all the asskicking in "Trick or Treat". Skull's very shabby stereotypical prisoner costume doesn't look like much, but what makes it awesome for Skull is that out of all the prisoner numbers he could have chosen to scrawl on his chest, he picked [[Literature/LesMiserables 24601]] and it seems like it was [[HiddenDepths a deliberate choice on his part]].

!! Season 2
* Zordon revealing the new Thunderzords to the Power Rangers. Rather than just show them on the Viewing Globe, he has Alpha lead the Rangers outside the Command Center and projects the images into the sky.
* Another moment for Kim comes in "The Song of Guitardo". First of all, she blasts the monster away using her Power Bow as a Harp, meaning she overcame the PowerOfRock with an improvised HARP of all things, then uses it to launch the Dragon Dagger at the monster, resulting in an abrupt explosion, as if the monster wasn't even worth their time.
* When Tommy was on the verge of losing his Green Ranger powers (and to make matters worse, they'd go back to Lord Zedd if he used them again), Goldar taunts Tommy and tries to make Tommy say that Goldar is superior. Tommy's response?
--> '''Tommy:''' [[YoureInsane You are... OUT OF YOUR MIND!]] [[PreAsskickingOneLiner (proceeds to chest kick Goldar and disarm him)]]
** When Jason fought Goldar unmorphed, they were at a standstill. Tommy goes up against Goldar unmorphed and royally kicks his ass.
* In "Missing Green," Jason runs the gauntlet to save the other Rangers - fighting the Z-Putties, taking on the Pipe-Drain monster in his Zord and finally battling Goldar in the another dimension. He saves the others' powers in the nick of time and even kicks Goldar in the face before escaping back to the Command Center.
** The Pipe Drain battle deserves special mention because the Red Dragonzord is fighting without the benefit of the 'zord armor' it usually has. Not only does it win but this is the [[CurbStompBattle most one-sided zord battle in the series thus far.]] Jason uses the mecha mode as an extension of himself and floors the creature with his martial arts. When it briefly turns the tide with TentacleRope, Jason brings out the Red Dragon's staff and floors it a ''second time'' before killing it with the Finishing Move.
* The climax of "The Wedding"; the Thunder Megazord and Mega Tigerzord defeated an ''army'' of giant monsters and barely got a dent. (When you stop and remember how much trouble they all gave them the ''first'' time in ''individual'' battles, it ''truly'' becomes awesome.)
* Let's just throw a Lord Zedd crowner in here: Serpentera. Zedd's own zord was the biggest and flashiest WaveMotionGun in the series for many years, and still probably wins the RuleOfCool award. Of course, every time it appeared a PhlebotinumBreakdown was imminent due to a lack of StockFootage to pull from, but most fans didn't care. Serpentera so outclassed any other weaponry in ''Power Rangers'' that fans wondered why Zedd abandoned it for a family RV in ''Zeo'' and questions persisted for so long that it eventually would return in a special episode more than five seasons after it was quietly PutOnABus.
** Not to mention that the only reason that last appearance wasn't the most awesome thing ''ever'', requiring more firepower than any other fight in ranger history, was ExecutiveMeddling and budget.
* Bulk and Skull demonstrating their badassery for the first time in "When Is a Ranger Not a Ranger?" They risk it all to save the amnesiac Rangers.
** The [[ThoseTwoGuys comic relief duo]] getting their own BigDamnHeroes moment to save the Power Rangers, and ''succeeding''? (Granted, they lose their memories of knowing who the Rangers are, but still...) Awesome.
** It's more than that. They first find out the Rangers' identities through genuine competence, they then work hard to help the Rangers recover their identities, using their hero-worshipping thing to great effect, THEN nobly and bravely they hold off Scatterbrain until the Rangers are actually able to fight it again. Easily their best moment until the "IAmSpartacus" bit. They do get one close to this one in Zeo, however.
** What really stands out is the two ''know'' that there's no one left to save them if they fail. Knowing the only ones in the world who could save you need you to save them this time and standing your ground against a city destroying monster ''without'' superpowers takes unbelievable bravery.
* Also a SugarWiki/{{Funny Moment|s}}, Kimberly is kidnapped by Goldar in an attempt to turn her evil so she can marry Zedd. When the spell doesn't work, Kimberly decides to have some fun with the situation and instantly turns herself into a Rita-esque LargeHam, loudly berating all the minions and even whacking Goldar a few times with her staff, making him deeply regret the whole thing. Double points for Creator/AmyJoJohnson's near-spot on mimic of Creator/BarbaraGoodson's voice.
* The final battle of the "White Light" saga (White Ranger's introduction) was full of Crowning moments. One saw the Red Dragonzord jousting the enemy... WHILE RIDING THE TIGERZORD. Then, a crowning moment of Badass, the monster blasted the Mega Tigerzord, but did nothing to it. In knowledge of this futility, the Megazord continued '''SLOWLY WALKING TOWARDS THEM''', to let them stew in the knowledge that they were about to get obliterated.
** That fight scene had a ton of crowning moments. Such as the first appearance of the Phoenix Grid, the Mega Tigerzord's finishing move that destroyed Nimrod. It was such an epic, awesome thing to watch.
** In fact, this was one of the few times the MonsterOfTheWeek came close to panic. (Her two assistants clearly did, trying to hide behind her, causing her to yell at them and shout, "Can't you do ''anything'' right?")
* In "Rangers Back in Time: Part 1" Lord Zedd turns back time, causing the rangers to turn back into children. Thinking he'll easily be able to deal with them, he sends some putties to attack them. While at first the rangers are frightened of the putties, Rocky and Kimberly manage to knock a few of them down, while Tommy shows that he's still more than capable of holding his own in a fight and manages to knock down several of them by himself, and even destroys one by throwing a dodgeball at the Z on its chest. This obviously helps him figure out how to defeat them, and he and the other rangers (And even Bulk and Skull) have the putties cowering in fear before getting rid of them by bombarding them with the dodgeball.
* The Thunder Ultrazord. Sure, it was just a big brutish contraption that flew up and landed on a monster but it bailed them out on numerous occasions. First after the Four Headed Monster bats back the Mega Tigerzord finisher the Thunder Ultrazord squashes it (after Tor gives the monster a taste of its own medicine) and even takes out Silverhorns who had such an easy fight with the Red Dragon Thunderzord that he seemed to be comfortable and enjoying himself (even unharmed by its finisher which had killed two monsters to that point). He also torments Tigerzord the same way. But then the Thunder Ultrazord comes in and saves the day. A modified version later on takes out Goldar and Scorpina (who seemingly were fed energy from Lord Zedd's staff as they were more powerful than before).
* Tor the Shuttle Zord is able to withstand Serpentera's massive foot and prevents Zedd from crushing the Rangers. It also drains it of half its energy and thus forcing Zedd to retreat.

!! Season 3
* "A Friend in Need, Part 2," before the throw-down, where Dex stands up to the Plague Patrol while backed up by five Power Rangers.
-->'''Dex:''' [[BadassBoast Now, villain, you shall know the power of the Masked Rider and the Power Rangers!]]
* After a tremendous loss of the Thunderzords to the hands of Rito Revolto, the Rangers get new Powers and new Zords, thus a brand new Megazord. What did the Rangers do with this new Megazord? They defeated Rito by PUNCHING HIM (which, to be fair is the Ninja Megazord finisher, so it wasn't just a regular punch).
** To elaborate, Rito destroyed both the Thunder Megazord & White Tiger Zord in a CurbStompBattle (in his debut, no less), which also caused an overload in the Morphing Grid & stripped the Rangers of their original powers. The rest of this opening story arc was about the Rangers gaining new powers & zords, and when they finally fight Rito in the Ninja Megafalconzord, they got to do the Curb Stomping.
** Also, until that time, the full version of the song "Go Go Power Rangers" NEVER went into its second stanza (Starts with: "They know the fate of the world is lying in their hands"). The fact that it does that to continue the fight? Made this fight (and the Megazord) more memorable. It showed that the team was back and ready for more!
* The ''entire'' zord battle in "Stop the Hate Master Part II". After the MonsterOfTheWeek was enlarged to city-smashing size, the Rangers didn't bother assembling the Megazord, instead fighting - and defeating - him with ''the individual zords''. Indeed this was a SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome for the Megazord that didn't even require the Megazord.
** And as an added bonus, the return of Titanus after a two year absence. Yes, it required different Sentai footage, and yes it led to them filming the toys for the Ninja & Shogun Ultrazords, but dammit, seeing everyone's favorite Brontozord (sorry, ''[[Series/PowerRangersDinoThunder Dino Thunder]]'') come in, fireballs ablazin, was just too awesome for words.
* Given the White Ranger powers in the middle of season two, Tommy spent the second half of season two and the first half of season three beating monsters by himself (while both morphed and unmorphed), thrashing armies, and constantly saving the day single-handedly, almost to distraction. It got to the point where the show was basically ''Tommy And His Five Incompetent Friends''. Then, we get "Changing of the Zords part 3". We knew Tommy loved Kimberly and vice versa. Say what you will about the Dear John letter in ''Zeo'', but T.O. deserves credit for not rolling over for Zedd, instead charging into another dimension to rescue the woman he loved (who had her Power Coin stolen, thus slowing killing her [as unlike the Dino Coins, the Ninja Coins were tied to their life forces], and until ''Lost Galaxy'', was as close to dying as any Ranger had ever been), finding Lord Zedd standing there, and confronting him... even though ''Lord Zedd kicks Tommy's ass into next week in an epic one-sided curb-stomp'' (There wasn't another example of a villain so thoroughly pwning his Ranger counterpart for ''years'' afterwards, when Astronema nearly killed her brother Andros, and that was only because Andros wasn't fighting back, while Tommy was). Zedd only loses through the fight through plot-mandated technicality but there's a very good reason that, even after 30 years, Zedd is still the emperor of bad-ass Power Ranger villains.
** In the same battle, Zedd comments on Tommy's {{kiai}} and then proceeds to do some of his own ''just to taunt him''. It takes this [=CMoA=] to a whole new level. This was ''after'' Rita gave Zedd the love potion and put him through [[ExecutiveMeddling executive meddling induced]] VillainDecay. Basically, Tommy, the in-universe "greatest ranger of all time," in his prime, had his ass handed to him by the watered-down, goofier, and quite possibly NERFED Zedd.
** The "Changing of the Zords" saga was the best thing that ever happened to Zedd. He had those kids ''screwed'' in every way, not to mention almost killing Kimberly (and make no mistake, he came damn close to ending her life). The only reason he lost was because he didn't expect the Rangers to cheat but that three-parter restored so much badassedness to Zedd. It was a deserved second wind, one a long time coming.
* Continuing his bad-assedness in the multi-part story mentioned above, Zedd also visited the Command Center and then mocked everything, from Alpha's [[TheWoobie woobieness]] to saying that Rita could make a better interior decorator. A BigBad would never enter a Ranger base again until Astronema briefly conquered the Megaship with brainwashed [[Series/NinjaTurtlesTheNextMutation Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles]] in the fourth episode. Divatox actually conquered the original Power Chamber but never went inside (also, given that Divatox is from ''Turbo'', many people [[FanonDiscontinuity don't like to acknowledge her existence]]).
** To elaborate, Zedd didn't break in or anything like that. He had those kids so completely fucked that they had NO CHOICE but to ''let'' him in. What made it even better was that he didn't ''have'' to go in. That moment was basically Zedd rubbing in his superiority.
--->"Save your breath, Zordon! I'm giving the commands around here!"
*** It also should be mentioned Zedd wasn't content with just teleporting to the Command Center. Oh no. Zedd brought his throne with him! Because when you're being a badass, you have to remember to have style!
* Adding to Lord Zedd's general awesomeness was that he got some of the best bad guy one-liners ever. When he was telling Goldar about his plan to send the Rangers on a never-ending scavenger hunt throughout the Universe, Goldar interrupted Zedd to praise the plan. Zedd replies, "Silence, fool! I wasn't done talking about ''me'' yet!" Some days, it was really hard to ''not'' to shout "ALL HAIL, LORD ZEDD!!", because he just did it with such style.
* All in all, for the complaints of Zedd being made sillier and married as a result of [[MoralGuardians parents]] [[ComicallyMissingThePoint complaining about him being too scary]], anyone actually paying attention to the entirety of Season 3 should be able to see that Zedd got way more long-term successes as a tradeoff and forced the Rangers on the defense for the entire season, including actually ''COMPLETELY BEATING THEM''.
** ''[[NotMakingThisUpDisclaimer You read that right]]''. After three seasons, ''Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers'' ends with [[TheBadGuyWins the Rangers in total defeat]], when, through Goldar and Rito, crippled the heroes at their absolutely lowest point and just as they were repower themselves, by stealing the recollected Zeo Crystal, blowing up the Command Center and seemingly killing Zordon and Alpha.
* Billy defeating The Brick Bully all by himself in a Zord Battle. Also awesome was Billy's BadassBoast just before:
--> '''Brick Bully:''' You still here?!\
'''Billy:''' I'm gonna be here for as long as it takes to defeat ''you'', Brick Bully!
** He ''also'' beat Brick Bully by himself at human size...with his ''brains'' instead of his brawn. He realizes Brick Bully needs to keep eating building supplies to maintain his OneWingedAngel form, so rather than try to destroy the monster by himself, [[VictoryByEndurance he prioritizes dodging and evading his attacks until Brick Bully wears himself out and forces Rita to grow him.]]
** Kat gets one here as well that also establishes her as TheSmartGirl. Billy's fighting the Brick Bully alone because she doesn't have her own Shogunzord and the other Rangers have all been turned into bricks. So she's tasked with finding a way to free them, and she recalls a recent science class where she learned about the effects of pollution and erosion. She and Alpha quickly rig up a pollution simulator that slowly decays the bricks, eventually saving the others. It's her first big moment since joining the team as the new Pink Ranger.
* The fact that the Shogun Mega(falcon)zord apparently kills the monsters so hard their ''souls explode.''
* Big one for the Rangers in general when you think about it: Master Vile, galactic tyrant who rules an entire galaxy where evil always wins and an even greater villain than Zedd...and the Rangers ''make him RageQuit and run away''.
* An understated one from "Attack of the 50 Foot Bulk": Bulk is turned into Brat Boy...and when the Rangers give him a IKnowYouAreInThereSomewhereFight, it actually ''works'' and when reminded of his best friend Skull, he ''[[HeroicWillpower breaks Rita and Zedd's spell all on his own]]''. While a ''kid''. When they make a second attempt, he defies their orders and ''fires on them'', causing them to RageQuit and undo the second spell themselves. Very few people in the entire Mighty Morphin' Era can say they've done ''that''.

* You know what's really awesome, though? The '''editing'''. Think about about it: From [[Series/KyoryuSentaiZyuranger the original show]] they replaced virtually all of the characters, changed the genre (''Power Rangers'' is action with minimal explanation, ''Zyuranger'' was high fantasy with elements of horror), reordered the monsters and many of the scenes covering the fact that they didn't even have the ability to ''use the Megazord'' until about 5 or 6 episodes into Zyuranger, and managed to fake the fact that the Green Ranger was actually ''dead.'' Faking a death is easy. Keeping a character alive that shouldn't be? That takes talent. Then comes seasons two and three - ''Dairanger'' and ''Kakuranger'' are totally different sentai from ''Zyuranger'' and each other, and PR production didn't have every costume or the budget to make a full battle every week. This means that in some instances, the Zyuranger suits and the ''Dairanger'' villain (or the ''Dairanger'' zords and the Zyu 2 villain) ''couldn't be shown at the same time!'' Most of those battles managed to be very exciting anyway, purely through clever editing.
* You see all those entries in Season 3 about Zedd constantly dunking the Rangers, who are ''supposed to be at their strongest yet''? Kudos must be given to the writers of that season for a truly awesome display of [[BotheringByTheBook malicious compliance]], probably the best in the franchise, and among the best in children's media. [[MoralGuardians Parents]] were [[ComicallyMissingThePoint complaining about scariness of the bad guy bigger and meaner than the previous one]]...but they never said anything about toning down the scope of his plans. So while he was made goofier, the writers compensated and more by making him far more dangerous despite being now portrayed as having the personality of a petty HenpeckedHusband and JadedWashout, more prone to cracking jokes. And with the very serialized nature of Season 3, these victories were more common and consistent than the previous seasons. Lastly, while it's expected that they had to get rid of the otherwise perfectly functional Ninja Coins to make room for the new Zeo powers and suits, as well as the new setpiece for the Power Chamber, rather than have the new bad guys, the Machine Empire, be the cause, they chose ''Zedd'' to be the destroyer of these powers ''and'' the Command Center. It also has the added benefit of making the Machine Empire look even more dangerous if they scare the ones who 'legit defeated the Power Rangers'' into fleeing for their lives''. In short, the moral of the story is making a villain less frightening and more comical doesn't exactly mean they become less competent. In fact, they could become '''''more competent'''''!
