* The Bar Scene: ComicBook/TheQuestion talking to [[CaptainErsatz Ror]][[ComicBook/{{Watchmen}} schach]] in the background. Next to ''Literature/SherlockHolmes''.
* Atom Smasher telling Marvin to "[[BigShutUp SHUT UP!]]" and sucker-punching him for disrespecting Superman.
* Billy's final decision.
-->and when he cries...
-->'''Billy''': Shazam.
--> ...''Seven thunders'' utter their voices.
* Shazam. ''Shazam!'' '''''SHAZAM!!!'''''
* Clark Kent with glasses and overalls dragging a giant plow in Kansas.
* Superman's initial return, which made the page picture above. There's something that just screams 'Hell yeah! Awesome!' when a blur of blue and red comes to stop some psychotic anti-heroes from killing everyone. The best part of that scene is that between the blur and the actual sighting of Superman, we see a crowd of ordinary people whose expression of shock gradually changes to an exultant, jubilant joy, as they turn their faces towards the sky and [=McCay=] states the simple reason. The sheer awesomeness of that moment is best described in the quote below.
-->''And suddenly... there was a '''wind'''. No. '''Not''' a wind. A blur of '''motion'''... bending the '''steel''' of their '''weapons'''... and changing the very '''course''' of the '''mighty river''' below. Even before the bystanders '''freed''' themselves from the '''cablecar''', they '''knew'''. We '''all''' did. We '''knew'''... and '''remembered.'''''
** In the {{Novelization}}, the Metropolitans quickly remember their "role", and say, "Look up in the sky!" "It's a bird!" "It's a plane!"
* Magog's CharacterDevelopment. At the end, he's smacking Swastika upside his head when he fails to show respect for Diana and the ceremony at Paradise Island. According to the {{Novelization}}, he becomes a Dean of Students there.
** This one is particularly amazing because it takes place almost entirely in the distant background of a big fight scene in which the reader is probably not looking at Magog. And in this huge battle, what is Magog, until then the most "anti" of all the {{Nineties Anti Hero}}es, doing? Not fighting at all. In fact, he ''saves'' half the people who end up surviving the fight. Like a true hero.
* Seeing [[ComicBook/{{Marvels}} Phil Sheldon]] sitting near Norman in the restaurant. Somehow, having two of the best {{Badass Bystander}}s from the DC and Marvel universes together just made it that much more awesome.
* Years after Superman's retired, the mere ''mention'' of his name is still enough to make Lex Luthor have a brief freakout.
-->'''Kobra''': And in the meantime, we have nothing to fear from the League? Not even from...Superman?
-->'''Luthor''': HE WILL NOT ''TOUCH'' ME! '''HE WILL ''NOT!'''''... he...he... he ''cannot.''
** In the {{Novelization}}, it's Nygma.
* The whole scene when Batman and his allies capture the MLF is awesome:
** Batman punches Billy Batson after learning he's not his superpowered self, then gives Luthor a well-deserved TheReasonYouSuckSpeech.
-->'''Batman''': My only '''goal''' in allying with you was to learn your connection to '''Captain Marvel'''. In this '''entire global conflict, he''' was the '''wild card'''... and I '''hate''' wild cards.
-->'''Luthor''': You-- You '''double-crossed''' me!
-->'''Batman''' (''smirking''): I learned from '''you'''.
** While most of Batman's allies effortlessly capture the MLF members, the aged Selina Kyle socks Tula and almost gets away.
** Luthor manages to run away... only to be captured by the bat-bots controlled by [[ComicBook/BlueBeetle Ted Kord]].
* "They won't forgive you for this, Clark. Forgive ''yourself''."
** This scene truly is amazing. Norman [=McCay=], an elderly preacher with no powers or skills of any sort, talks down an enraged Superman (who is also implied to be even MORE powerful than in his youth) who is going full RROD. This is, of course, after effectively flipping the bird to and lecturing the '''embodiment of God's Wrath''' on morality.
--->'''Spectre:''' Judgement has been passed. I am no longer needed. Farewell, [=Norman McCay=].
--->'''Norm:''' Farewell? '''[[WhatTheHellHero Farewell?!]]''' You think you brought me all this way just to watch people die? '''Think again!''' You want to confront evil? Then get us the ''hell'' to the UN... ''now''! You saw Superman! You saw an anger that could ''twist steel''! If what happens next happens the only way it can... '''and you let it... ''that'' is evil!'''
* Norm even [[DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu tells the Spectre off]] when he finds out that he's not going to stop the coming Armageddon, and when the Spectre challenges him, he firmly gives an answer the angel cannot argue.
-->'''Norman:''' I'm not a pushover. I'm not a slave. I'm not an angel encumbered with divine imperatives. I'm not some [[Creator/CharlesDickens Dickensian]] clown you can intimidate with Victorian guilt. And I'm not biting. Home, please. I quit.\
'''Spectre:''' You cannot quit. Do you have a mission assigned you by the Author of Creation? Have you stood face to face with God in the inmost chamber of the continuum? Have you been told by the Lord of the Universe what is expected of you?\
'''Norman:''' ''(an ordained priest)'' [[PunctuatedForEmphasis Yes... I... have.]]
* Superman, desperate to contain the situation at the Gulag before it gets any more out of hand, is flying so fast he's barely more than a red/blue blur. Then he's knocked out of the sky by a red/gold blur, which turns out to be none other than Captain Marvel. Earth's Mightiest Mortal fully lives up to his title, as he trades blows with the Man of Steel, who, keep in mind, is more powerful than ever, and has him completely ''stalemated'', despite Kal-El's intense desire to put an end to the jailbreak. And then the [[ShockAndAwe lightning assault]]. Each bolt does clear, devastating damage to Superman, who, again, is at the height of his durability, and it is only quick thinking that enables him to survive, let alone win.
** Props must be given to Superman. During the entirety of the battle between the two, he kept on trying to make Billy snap out of his brainwashing. Despite being struck repeatedly with Shazam's [[KryptoniteFactor magical]] lightning bolts, [[TheDeterminator he powered through the bolts despite bleeding out of his eyes, nose and ears,]] all to get closer to him. Finally, with his SuperSpeed, he quickly put his hand over Billy's mouth right as he uttered his magic word. With that single move, it's all over. Despite the simplicity of the single move, it's undeniably awesome. Best described by the quote below.
--->''For one'' '''''frozen instant''''''', the storm'' '''''clears.''''' ''Fingers that can fuse'' '''''coal''''' ''into'' '''''diamond''''' ''crawl across'' '''''human bone'''''''.''
** In a cross between [[SugarWiki/AwesomeMoments Awesome]] and [[SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments Heartwarming]], Superman finally made Billy see through his brainwashing through words alone, letting him make the choice that would shape the future of the world.
* Scott Free immediately knowing what is about to happen, and tells his daughter to summon a Boom Tube. A second of hesitation, he activates it ''for'' her, essentially saying, "I mean '''now'''." They enter the Boom Tube just as the nuclear blast singes the end of the Tube as they leave. His daughter asks how in the world he knew. Barda's response: "He ''always'' knows."
* Joker's Daughter's gun-totting jack-in-the-box is a neat combat gimmick.
