!!Miscellaneous
* Dumbledore averages about two literary crowning moments per chapter commentary in ''The Tales of Beedle the Bard''. Particularly his commentaries with Brutus and Lucius Malfoy, in which both of them get utterly pwned.
* From the 2014 Quidditch World Cup write-up on Pottermore, we have [[FieryRedhead Ginny]] Badass Potter incapacitating [[HateSink Rita Skeeter]] with "what some are calling a jinx to the solar plexus".
* The Weasleys, full stop. They look like an unimpressive family on the outside and don't have a really good reputation in the wizarding world, but let's take a closer look at them:
** Arthur has a lowly job at the Ministry, but that's only because he loved it more than any promotion he could get (and because his appreciation for Muggle ways tends to earn him the side-eye within the still-prejudiced Ministry); when the Second Wizarding War against Voldemort starts openly and his preferences are not the priorities any more, he gets some impressive promotions immediately, and he's a leading member of the Order of the Phoenix during the Second War.
*** The fact that Arthur's job didn't really change that much. When he worked in the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office, his job was to prevent Dark Objects from finding their way into Muggle hands for their own protection. While to the Wizarding World this office was at best seen as boring, at worst looked upon with outright disdain, it became NECESSARY when the Second Wizarding War broke out to prevent opportunists from selling defective protective items to desperate witches and wizards in a time when their lives literally depended on them.
** Molly raised a family during the height of the First Wizarding War, and stood strong even as her friends and her own brothers were killed in action. She's clearly a gifted witch, even though she prefers to use her talents on practical household needs, she becomes a full-time member of the Order in the Second War, and kills Bellatrix Lestrange in a duel because [[MamaBear she threatened her daughter]], delivering [[PreAssKickingOneLiner one of the greatest lines]] [[SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome ever spoken in the series]] before doing so.
---> "Not my daughter, you [[ThisIsForEmphasisBitch bitch]]!"
** Bill and Charlie both work extremely risky jobs that require really high qualifications, and both are quite successful at it.
** Percy became a prefect and Head Boy and received twelve O.W.Ls and top scores on all his N.E.W.Ts, and is able to make a quite fast career in the Ministry. Even though he rose up so quickly because they were using him, he is skilled enough to hold his own and Transfigure an adult wizard into a sea urchin at age twenty-one in the heat of a battle, and there is no denying that he actually is very competent at his job.
** Fred and George founded Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, a shop that becomes extremely successful in an extremely short time, and both of them became war heroes. Sadly, only George lives to be called one.
** Ron, together with Hermione whom he married, helped Harry through all his seven years, particularly in tracking down the Horcruxes and destroying one himself while saving Harry's life. He's skilled enough at chess to have beaten a chess set Transfigured by ''[[BadassTeacher Minerva [=McGonagall=]]]'' at age eleven. He went on to become an Auror, mostly to spite those who said he couldn't, then left of his own accord and helped his brother George make Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes even ''more'' successful than it already was.
** Ginny led Dumbledore's Army during the hellish year of the Death Eaters' reign at Hogwarts, and only stopped because her parents withdrew her. She fought in the Battle of Hogwarts and survived, even though she was technically underage. She became a successful professional Quidditch player for the Holyhead Harpies, an all-witches team, before becoming a Quidditch analyst for the Daily Prophet. Marrying Harry Potter is just the icing on the cake.
** Keep in mind, through all the first five books the family is undergoing some deep financial issues, but that doesn't stop Molly and Arthur from raising and sending to school no less than ''seven'' extremely competent wizards, all of whom (even Percy, despite his actions in the fifth and sixth books) are good-hearted people. They are amazing parents.
** It should also be noted that in spite of their poverty they never hold any spite towards Harry for his large inheritance; and treat him as though he's part of their own family, with Molly actually saying that he's as good as her son.
* While he may have wanted the position of Defence Against The Dark Arts teacher, Snape proved multiple times why Dumbledore gave him the position of Potions master by identifying, multiple times over several books, exactly how the students had screwed up their potions by just looking at it.
* [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angus_Buchanan_(rugby_union) Angus Buchanan]], who in the Potter-verse [[BeethovenWasAnAlienSpy was a Squib]]. Born without magic, he was subjected to discrimination, needing to learn how to dodge curses. When he didn't get a Hogwarts acceptance letter, his loving siblings helped him get in the castle, where he was rejected by the Sorting Hat. He left Hogwarts in tears and was disowned by his bigoted father. Sounds sad right? Well, he eventually found his calling in the Muggle sport of rugby, in which he achieved great fame. He then published an autobiography about Squibs and how they can still accomplish great things, to massive acclaim from Wizards. By the time of his death, he was celebrated by both the Muggle ''and'' Wizarding worlds, a feat not many can claim.
** Even more awesome: Among the spectators were all ten of his brothers and sisters, who had set out to meet him in defiance of their father's injunction against ever seeing Angus again. Elated to see them, Angus scored the first try and Scotland won the match.
* According to the LooseCanon video game ''Magic Awakened'', Neville became Head of Gryffindor House as a teacher.
