* After being rescued an absurd number of times from every danger imaginable, Miaka ''finally'' gets to save her seven protectors from Soi by catching a massive lightning blast in a holy sword and hurling the energy back at the enemy.
** There's also the scene where she guesses that Zombie!Shouka has come to kill her, so she [[ObfuscatingStupidity dodges her attacks while pretending to be asleep.]] Notorious in that not only [[IdiotHero she]] ''did'' realize someone would attack her before it happened, but she did it ''while being quite ill and physically weakened''.
* During the first infiltration of Kutou, Chichiri not only runs circles around Nakago's forces, he is one of the few people in the entire series to NoSell Nakago's powers by breaking through a seemingly-impenetrable magic barrier and repulsing Nakago's chi attacks when directly confronted. BewareTheSillyOnes, indeed.
* Tasuki earned a ''lot'' of fan love during the Kodoku arc, in which Tamahome is [[BrainwashedAndCrazy brainwashed]] into attacking Miaka. Tasuki arrives [[BigDamnHeroes just in time]] to defend her, but as the fight begins, Miaka begs him not to endanger Tamahome's life. Tasuki therefore puts his weapon away, willingly disadvantaging himself, and receives a [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown savage, merciless beating]] from Tamahome as a result. Even as he grows progressively more broken and bloodied, and even when the absurdly powerful Nakago shows up, Tasuki continues to hurl himself into battle against both men, willing to commit a YouShallNotPass sacrifice in order for Chichiri and Miaka to escape. Since he'd previously been depicted somewhere between BoisterousBruiser and LoveableRogue, this act of pure self-sacrifice was somewhat unexpected (and therefore particularly awesome).
** Later in the series, Tasuki has a lesser, but still [[SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome Awesome]] moment after Yui has summoned Seiryuu, the Suzaku warriors' powers have been sealed away, and Kutou has invaded Konan. Nakago is in full EvilGloating mode, the main characters Miaka and Tamahome are in chaos, and out of nowhere Tasuki pulls a TalkToTheFist moment by deciding to simply pick up a sword and hurl it at Nakago's face. In a bit of morbid hilarity, when Soi [[TakingTheBullet takes it instead]], Tasuki's primary reaction is "rats, I missed."
* Yui's HeelFaceTurn speech.
** And also her RedemptionEarnsLife moment in the same episode.
* Miaka telling Yui that she is going to yell at her about many things by the time her battle with Nakago is over.
* Miaka has a subtle but beautiful one ''very'' early: when she starts gaining Nuriko's respect and collaboration. Up until then Miaka had acted as if she was Nuriko's maid to try getting into his favors, and due to jealousy he kept treating her like shit -- ultimately sending her to seek for a supposedly lost earring [[TheUriahGambit in hopes to make her look bad]]. Well, Miaka obviously doesn't find said earring -- she returns with her hands empty, overhears Nuriko gloating about what he had done... then she steps in, slaps Nuriko across the face and [[WhatTheHellHero loudly calls him out for being selfish]], before offering him a pretty and shiny pebble that she ''did'' find around. That's quite the HumblePie eating moment for Nuriko, who [[TearsOfRemorse breaks down crying]] due to the humiliation, and from then on acts still snarky but much closer to the cheerful BoisterousBruiser we know and love.
* Say what you will, but Nuriko pulling a {{Determinator}} moment to choke Ashitare after having been literally skewered has to count. Extra points for SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic "Winner" playing in the background.
* How about the way Tamahome killed Nakago? By punting a hole through his chest WITH HIS LASER FISTS?! You may not even be a big fan of Tamahome, but even you had to admit awesomeness when you saw it.
* OVA 1: No matter how sketchy the plot for this OVA is as a whole, since it has the tricky duty to tie the ending of the TV series to the second part of the manga, it has its fair share of awesome moments.
** [[TheDreaded Nakago]] pulling a BigDamnHeroes, as a spirit only capable of sending aura bolts. Nakago disables Tomo's illusions by shattering his shell and the earring with a life force bolt, and sends him [[OhCrap running for the hills]] by simply saying "I have a fair idea of what you are doing here."
** While still acting like an aloof jerk, he also gets points for having the gall to tell off Tenkoh, refusing his offer of a second life, and seeing right away through the trap and fine print. And with that, he just leaves doing no more or no less than exactly what he said he would.
** Amiboshi and Suboshi get a moment to shine too, with their joint HeroicSacrifice. Suboshi managed to come back by possessing the body of his brother Amiboshi, and refuses to go all out since he is aware this would kill his brother's body. However, at Amiboshi's urging, Suboshi lets himself skewered by his own KillerYoyo to muster the life force necessary to break the barrier holding Yui prisoner. This act lets the group turn the tables on Tenkoh.
** Tamahome's HesBack moment after defeating the Kodoku poison. This is the final turning point in the whole battle.
* OVA 2:
** When Hotohori possesses his baby son to fight off a monster. Epic.
** A still incomplete Taka (having recovered four stones out of seven) using whatever little power he has available to shake off Miisu's influence, throwing a life force blast and breaking her spell. If [[ThisCannotBe Miisu's reaction is to be believed]], Taka just went BeyondTheImpossible, just thanks to the PowerOfLove.
** When Chichiri finally [[LetsGetDangerous pulls out all the stops]] against Hikoh. Taka and Tasuki are simply flabbergasted.
** For that matter, Tasuki pulling an extreme precision strike on Chichiri's robe, burning ONLY the robe and allowing Taka to power through and punch the crap out of Hikoh, allowing Tasuki's blow to kill him WITHOUT hurting Chichiri. This took a few years of life out of poor Tasuki, though.
** When Taka, about to go past the DespairEventHorizon, gets a SugarWiki/{{Heartwarming Moment|s}} from Miaka, and decides to finally overcome himself, taking in a heartbroken avatar of Tamahome who is about to go [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone crazy from what he did]].
** The whole scene is just properly glorious when a reunited Taka appears on top of the sea, the Ogre character on his forehead, calmly stating he finally understands his purpose, and emitting an aura so big as to cover all of Tokyo. Tenkoh himself is properly IMPRESSED, expressing at most VillainRespect, at witnessing Taka's growth and state of TranquilFury, from which he can draw no power at all since there is no anger nor sadness to prey upon, just pure, unadulterated love and purpose.
** Culminates when Tenkoh reasons to himself that this does not change anything, [[NothingCanStopUsNow the Suzaku Seven are powerless to stop him]]... [[OhCrap and then Miaka starts chanting]]. [[DidNotSeeThatComing Then Taka starts chanting too!]]
** A fully rejuvenated Suzaku in all his glory, along with the other Four Gods, delivering the MOTHER of all [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech "Reason you suck" speeches]] along with a TomatoInTheMirror reveal to Tenkoh, before wiping him from this world forever. This proved once and for all just how much power the Four Gods held, even in the real world, and in a nod to Buddhism, the difference between true Gods and fake Gods such as Tenkoh.
