* In Shrine of Storms area 4-3, you can find a special sword called the Storm Ruler. At first glance, it may not seem very useful, particularly when you check its stats to find it has only 10 durability (the lowest of any item in the game). Then you give it a swing...and watch as it splits the air in two with a vertical shockwave of death, [[ShockingMoments slaughtering every flying manta ray that happens to be even near the shockwave's range]]. While it only makes shockwaves in ''this'' area, it's still satisfying to swat those enemies down from the sky, as well as take large chunks out of the Storm King's HP with every swing. The fact that it's one of the best spots to farm souls is just icing on the cake.
** The Storm King is also, particularly in the remake, a particularly excellent spectacle boss. The fight itself is just a matter of using a special weapon several times, being careful to keep moving to better avoid projectiles, but the Storm King is an utterly prodigious, intricately-detailed giant whose scale is sold by him repeatedly flying over you amidst a powerful storm, and you take it and its flunkies down with sweeping air-blade strikes.
* Garl Vinland's determination to protect Maiden Astraea is admirable. He is a powerful boss, who can cause trouble to new players, and he will not give up to protect his loved one. As for Astraea herself, the fact that despite being an Archdemon, she improved the conditions of the Valley of Defilement.
* Killing the Dragon God. If you are skilled enough to beat the Vanguard in the tutorial, this dragon will end you in one punch, and he can still do so in the proper fight if he spots you. Brute force alone won't work, so you use hiding and ballistas to weaken him. And even gravely injured, he keeps fighting back. However, you can now finish him once and for all.
* The duel with Old King Allant. This demon shows how glorious the real king could be if he didn't submit to his lust for more power, and he is a skilled duelist who can drain your level with grabs and cause massive shockwaves with his sword.
* When you beat the game, after you have conquered some of the greatest challenges in video game history, built a character that no Archdemon can stop, and chose to let the Old One rest once and for all...that moment when the hero takes one last glimpse at their main enemy gives the player a feeling of true accomplishment that no gaudy cinematic could possibly impart on them. No twists, no strings attached--your war against the Demons is over and ''you have won''. It's even stated outright that ''you are now the unyielding defender of the world and the keystone to its stability''. If the demons ever come back, they better sleep with one eye open.
* In the remake, the Penetrator is one of the most gorgeous fights in the game, with his ornate black armor and flickering red sword complementing the architecture around him, particularly the gold in the floor. His style of combat also encourages shield-forgoing melee players to break out some intricate rolls in an exciting, if brief, fight.
