The Divorce went through with Elsie wanting nothing more than to keep her married name, however just as she thought it was over and she began to start a relationship she receives a poison pen letter threatening her affair she discovered she yet to make the divorce absolute, upset and angered she wants revenge:
--->''Dear Mrs Tanner. It is quite obvious that you do not know the law of the land, for if you did you would know that you are not allowed to go messing about with men until you are absolutely divorced. Certain people would like to know what happened in Blackpool illuminations between you and a certain gentleman who wears a uniform, and this information will be passed on if you do not put your house in order.''
** She convinced herself that it was Annie Walker who had insulted her relationship, talk fills the Rovers Return and Jack tries to hide it from his wife but when Elsie confronts her Annie defends herself saying the idea anyone had of her writing such a thing makes her wonder what people must think about her.
*** Elsie leaves the letter behind and Annie upon reading it sends it back to No 11 with Brandy, Elsie apologies for her behaviour but Annie is still cold after she leaves Annie tells Jack that if she was compassionate Elsie would walk over her again.
** Then Elsie upon hearing that Ena Sharples claimed Annie wouldn't write such a thing, so it was perfect that Ena was the writer, she confronts her in the street all guns blazing, when Ena tells her straight she knows a lot worst about Elsie than she knows and if she had written the letter, she would have signed as she isn't ashamed. 35* In the episode shown on 13 January 2011: Deirdre has a go at Claire for attacking Tracy. Gail, David and Graham instantly spring to Claire's defence, giving the Barlows a collective BreakingSpeech with such lines as:
--> '''David:''' Pity she didn't finish the job! Give the girl a medal, that's what I say!
--> ''Deirdre starts crying and calls them a lynch mob. David's response?''
--> '''David:''' Hey, now you're talking! Knock some gallows up! Anybody got a washing line?
--> ''Deirdre leaves in tears.''
* The episode shown on December 17 2010: The whole episode was fantastic because, at long last, after his affair with Molly Dobbs, Kevin Webster finally got ''[[TakeThatScrappy exactly]]'' what he deserved. His entire family no longer wanted anything to do with him, all of Weatherfield talked about what a creep he was and he got a long overdue beating. [[TakeThatScrappy Tyrone punching Kevin]] in the face at Molly's funeral after finding out that he's baby Jack's father is especially satisfying to watch, [[TookALevelInJerkass considering that Kevin's been an even bigger arsehole lately.]]
* The episode shown 17 November 2011: Rosie and Sally start bitching about Fiz's husband's criminal record. Cue Chesney coming out of nowhere (perhaps hidden from view behind Fiz) to defend his sister.
* The episode shown September 18 2012 (in Canada at least): Tina finally took down Kirsty and had her about to reveal that Kirsty beat Tyrone and was a lying and manipulative person. [[OhCrap Then Kirsty, who was 9 months pregnant at the time, went into labour.]]
* Natasha's exit from the street had her RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap for many. For the context, she had gotten pregnant with Nick's baby and been rejected by him. But he had changed his mind, just after she'd had an abortion, so she pretended she was still pregnant. Gail had been suspicious that she was never pregnant and hacked into her records to discover the abortion (which is kind of illegal). After recovering from an intentional overdose of sleeping pills, Natasha grew a much-needed backbone. First she chewed Nick out in front of everyone at the factory for only staying with her because he couldn't have Leanne - also telling the women Nick's {{Embarrassing Nickname}}s for them. Rounding things off, she walked into the medical center and announced to Dr Carter about Gail hacking into her medical records. When Gail tries to invoke IDidWhatIHadToDo, Dr Carter promptly fires her in front of everyone.
--> '''Natasha:''' "Ooh, back of the net!"
* One for the production team: One of the episodes aired on Christmas in 1991 started early and showed Alf Roberts sitting down to watch the Queen's Christmas Message - which the network aired a few minutes later, switching back to Corrie when it was done.
* During Hayley's last Christmas when she was given a complimentary hairdo from Maria at the salon (complete with a few streaks), [[{{Jerkass}} Tracy]] proceeded to [[KickTheDog make fun of it and saying how out of style it was.]] She fired back saying how no one truly loved her, even pointing out how both her daughter and her ''kidney'' were among those who rejected her. Shocked and hurt, she stormed off nearly in tears.
* During the EvilVersusEvil storyline of Pat Phelan vs Vinny Ashford in late 2017, Vinny sends a hitman to deal with Pat once and for all. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uolmAMiT9DE It doesn't go well.]]
** Phelan gets another during his GrandFinale week. He absolutely [[CurbStompBattle annihilates]] Gary Windass when the latter breaks into his caravan, to the point that Gary's friend Josh had to intervene.
* Anna Windass somehow manages to top all of the above examples during Phelan's GrandFinale. She shocks him when he drags Michelle into the bistro kitchen, allowing Michelle to kick out at Pat. Although Michelle still ends up being shot, Anna uses her chance to promptly stab Pat right in the heart, and as the residents promise to claim the attack was self-defence, dishes out an epic TheReasonYouSuckSpeech to Pat as he lays dying.
* Having gotten off with raping David and other men in the past, Josh Tucker is badly beaten by a potential victim thanks to the intervention of Billy Mayhew who warns the man about Josh's past. This leads to Josh being on a life support machine in hospital and in a vulnerable state, which is no more than he deserves after his actions.
* Liz giving Jim a well- deserved TheReasonYouSuckSpeech to Jim after finding out about his and Hannah's horrible deception.
* Jack filming Phil being a JerkAss to Brian, and then all the people in the pub, like Kevin, Cathy, David, Tyrone, Gemma, Shona, and even Evelyn rallying round Brian.
* DomesticAbuser Geoff Metcalfe's cathartic and long overdue KarmaHoudiniWarranty during the 2020 Winter season. First after he attempts to frame Yasmeen for attacking him (in fact self defence after a long run of bullying), her defendant manages to push his {{Berserk Button}}s enough for him to go into a vicious tirade and reveal his true colours to everyone in court. He is exposed as a monster, loses the case and is disowned by his son (who was denied his mother due to Geoff's previous terrorising of her). When he decides to murder Yasmeen in a VillainousBreakdown, he chases her onto the roof. Instead of cowering, she delivers a TheReasonYouSuckSpeech, listing down all his misgivings and insecurities she had suffer for while he can only throw a tantrum and scream denial. Upon a dare from her to kill her, he makes a lunge, only to slip and slowly fall off the roof, begging for his abused wife to save him all the way down.
* Shona telling Tracy what a nasty, evil person she is.
