* The whole episode on the difference between science and pseudoscience. One of the most important science lessons a kid can learn, and yet how many shows teach it?
* Bill's appearance on ''Series/MisterRogersNeighborhood'' necessitated LighterAndSofter content. While we're familiar with his ability to connect with kids, he was out of his demographic comfort zone, and he adapted well.
* Bill appeared on ''Series/DancingWithTheStars''. The ''entire theater'' was giving him a standing ovation after his dance, all chanting "BILL! BILL! BILL! BILL! BILL!" After almost 15 years, his fans still love and remember him!
** After every performance he made. ''Especially'' after he was immobilized from a knee injury. The man was advised by his doctor to stop dancing but Bill freaking Nye decided to devise a knee brace that effectively rendered him a peg leg. Instead of letting that stop him, the man dressed up as a cyborg and incorporated that into his dance. He didn't win, but as previously mentioned, the audience reaction was ''huge''.
* Similarly, around ten years after the show ended, Nye started doing speaking tours at colleges. It's not at all uncommon for the tickets for his lectures to sell out within ''minutes''. As was once overheard standing in line for said tickets, "Dude's a rock star!"
* Teaching kids how to make a fire extinguisher out of ridiculously common kitchen materials in the chemical reactions episode. There's a good chance that somewhere out there, that saved somebody's life.
* '''''Creator/BobRoss''''' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8eIWIPCC_s in the "Eyeballs" episode.]] He couldn't have picked a better time to paint us a happy little retina.[[note]]The episode aired close to a year and a half before his death from lymphoma in 1995.[[/note]]
* The fact this fellow started out as a Boeing engineer, not a trained scientist, actor, or entertainer. He had a side venture doing stand-up, which got [[Series/AlmostLive John Keister's]] attention. Keister was impressed enough to lobby KING-5 to hire the guy for ''Almost Live!'', and Nye became their stand-out performer.
* [[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=htqQRcNYkeY Bill’s appearance on ''Last Night Tonight with John Oliver'']], in which he talks (rants, actually) about the ongoing effects of global warming. There were a couple [[PrecisionFStrike Precision F Strikes]] involved. Given that it’s, you know, ''Bill Nye'', who, as seen above, is well remembered by fans who watched him on TV as kids, this fact got a lot of laughs from the audience.
--> '''''Bill:''''' Here, I-I’ve got an experiment for you. Safety glasses on. By the end of this century, if emissions keep rising, the average temperature on Earth could go up another 4 to 8 degrees. What I’m saying is, ''the planet’s on fucking fire!'' ''[lights globe up with a blowtorch]'' There are a lot of things we could do to put it out. ''[motions towards a towel, a bucket of sand, and a fire extinguisher]'' Are any of them free? ''NO, OF COURSE NOT!'' Nothing’s free, you idiots! Grow the fuck up! You’re not children anymore. I didn’t mind explaining photosynthesis to you when you were 12, but you’re ''ADULTS'' now, and this is an ''ACTUAL CRISIS, GOT IT?'' Safety glasses off, motherfuckers!
