4	* Chris Cooper as Deputy Looney when taking the stand during the trial. While it was clear that the deputy lost his leg due to Carl Lee's attacks on the racist rapists, Looney bears no grudge towards Carl Lee for this as he is aware that the loss of his leg was unintentional on Carl Lee's part as the latter only wanted to kill the rapists. Looney also admits that he too has a young daughter and that he himself will kill anyone who ever tries to rape her. He then gives out his passionate cries demanding that Carl Lee be pardoned.
5	--> '''Looney''': I hold no ill will toward the man... he did what I would've done. I mean, I don't blame him for what he did. Those boys raped his little girl. (....) I got a little girl... if somebody rapes her, he's a dead dog. I'll blow him away just like Carl Lee did. (....) He's a hero... you turn him loose! YOU TURN HIM LOOSE!! TURN HIM LOOSE!!!
6	* At the end of the film, as the sheriff approaches the two Klan leaders who have been terrorizing the town, accompanied by the racist deputy who has been helping them (known to the audience, but presumably unknown to the sheriff).
