* ''WesternAnimation/InspectorGadget'' was Nickelodeon's most-adored cartoon in the 80's, with clips of the show appearing in some of the channel's promos. ''WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes'' on Nickelodeon was also treated this way.
* Back in the mid-to-late 90's, ''WesternAnimation/GarfieldAndFriends'' was adored more than any other syndicated show, airing twice a day and getting promoted often. This is justified, as Nickelodeon's reruns of the show were often ranked in the top 10 shows among kids 2-11, at one point getting ratings on par with ''Franchise/PowerRangers'' on Creator/FOXKids.
* ''WesternAnimation/TinyToonAdventures'' was another acquired favorite of Nickelodeon, often airing for an hour each day. Like ''Garfield'', it also got ratings that were so huge that they surpassed those of other Nicktoons like ''WesternAnimation/RockosModernLife'' and ''WesternAnimation/{{Doug}}''.
* ''WesternAnimation/MuppetBabies1984'' was another one of Nickelodeon's favorite acquired shows. They ran it for almost a decade, and ran it multiple times a day, both on afternoons and as one of the fixtures of Nick Jr. in the days before ''WesternAnimation/BluesClues'' (see below).
* When they had the rights to it, ''Anime/DragonBallZKai'' would be shown on Nicktoons multiple times every day with flimsy excuses for marathons. It's 11/11/11? They promised to show 11 hours of the show. As of 2012 it would run at least 4 episodes a day.
* From 2015-2016, ''WesternAnimation/ALVINNNAndTheChipmunks'' got this treatment from the American Nickelodeon. It got to the point that Nick aired nothing but ''Alvin'' and ''[=SpongeBob=]'' during New Years 2015 into 2016. They also spent that week airing the show in blocks. It basically went 3 episodes of ''[=SpongeBob=]'', 3 episodes of ''Alvin''. Once ''WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse'' came in the picture, reruns were cut down significantly. Nowadays, reruns only air on Nicktoons.
** They did the same marathon treatment for Presidents Day weekend 2016.
** In the UK, it's so overdosed that sometimes, you can see it airing on FOUR different channels: Creator/{{Nicktoons}}, Creator/NickJr, and the [[Creator/SonyPicturesTelevision SPT]]-owned Pop and Pop Max. This is probably a result of it being a French production, which enables the show to fulfill European content quotas.
* Two words: '''''Animation/MotuPatlu'''''. In India, Nickelodeon adores it even more than the Sponge himself. ''Motu'' airs 5 hours on average on weekdays, along with its never-ending list of TV movies, and it gets aggressive merchandising.
* Nickelodeon UK, a joint venture between Viacom and [[Creator/{{Sky}} Sky plc]], acquired the rights to air a certain show called ''WesternAnimation/HorridHenry'' on their Nicktoons channel in May 2018. They aired a marathon of the show on the week it premiered (a half-term week, when kids have a week-long break from school), and it proved to be a huge success: it's become the highest-rated show on the channel for every week since its premiere in favour of displacing ''the actual Nicktoons'', and its success has made it the flagship show on two UK channels, the other being its home channel, Creator/{{CITV}}. It helps that ''Horrid Henry'' is one of the most popular kids' shows in the UK, and the change was probably made to fit European broadcasting rules.
** By May 2019, ''26'' 15-minute episodes airing on a certain weekend day. Although ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'' was aired a similar amount of times, many of its airings were at times when children were unlikely to be watching (including it airing for 3 straight hours - between 9 P.M and midnight, when most children would be going to bed). The weekdays aren't much better, with Horrid Henry taking up most of the airtime after children come back to school.
** As of November 2019, the show is so beloved by Nicktoons that they nabbed the rights to show new episodes before CITV gets them.
** If that wasn't enough, in 2020, they put the show on the main Nickelodeon network, where it airs 12 times a day.
* The ''WesternAnimation/TheSmurfs2021'' cartoon quickly became adored by Nickelodeon during its first month on the air. It was already getting daily reruns despite the limited amount of episodes at the time. On the Nicktoons channel, since spring 2022, the show airs 1.5 hours every weeknight and since June 2022, it now has a weekly Sunday marathon despite the first season not being finished yet. Some Nick fans will say the treatment of this new incarnation of The Smurfs to be very similar to how Nick treated Alvinnn!!! during its early days since an acquisition was getting more screentime than Nick's in-house cartoons (that weren't ''[=SpongeBob=]'' / ''Loud House'').
* Before ''WesternAnimation/BluesClues'' premiered, in addition to its regular timeslot, if there was any hole in the Nick Jr. schedule, it would be filled by British cartoon ''WesternAnimation/{{Rupert}}.''
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Live action programming]]
* The very first show on Nickelodeon to have this treatment was its flagship series ''Series/{{Pinwheel}}''.
* ''Series/YouCantDoThatOnTelevision'' was adored on Nickelodeon throughout the 1980s with reruns in heavy rotation until 1994.
* ''Series/AllThat'' was the next big live action show for Nick after ''You Can't Do That On Television''.
** The reboot of the show suffered from this trope, too. Ads kept showing up on Website/YouTube and Twitter whenever new episodes were to premiere, and Nick '''even interrupted their own shows to play ads for it!'''
* ''Series/{{iCarly}}'' spent several years as the adored live-action show. Not surprisingly however, as it was the only show to even come close to matching ''[=SpongeBob=]'''s ratings and popularity, up to and including an episode that broke the 11 million viewers mark. Like ''[=SpongeBob=]'' it got the marathon treatment regularly, especially when they did the Webbiest Wednesday during Wednesdays in 2009. It was the first live-action sitcom on Nick to reach 100 episodes.
* Nickelodeon does this with any "big" Teen Com that has any form of success -- ''Series/DrakeAndJosh'' comes to mind fairly quickly and they even aired the Christmas special over and over ''even when it wasn't Christmas''. Speaking of ''Drake and Josh'', they also liked playing the "Really Big Shrimp" special a lot. In the mid-2000's, it would air at least once a month.
* When the network's teen-coms air new two-part specials, after their airing, it'll probably rerun lots of times shortly afterward. When "iStart a Fan War" premiered in mid-November, it aired a total of nine times in the remainder of the month alone. Similarly with "iParty with Victorious", because Nickelodeon went so far as to make an extended version of it.
** Averted in ''Series/ICarly'''s last year or so. Nick showed first-run episodes without ''any promotion'' at all, and were pushing ''Series/{{Victorious}}'' instead.
* After the premiere of ''Series/SamAndCat'', the network repeatedly promoted reruns of the first episode, using the phrase "See how it all began" as if it hadn't aired just the day before. After two days of this the network dropped all pretenses and announced that it would air the first episode every single day that week.
* ''Series/HenryDanger'' is this for the mid to late 2010s era. There has been promos claiming it as the number one kid sitcom in television. Even after Creator/DanSchneider was let go, it was still kept under a new showrunner Christopher J. Novak with the for a fifth season. As of December 2018, it got renewed for 10 more episodes, making it the longest running live-action sitcom on Nick, surpassing iCarly.
* The [[UsefulNotes/BlockProgramming block-series]] ''Nick Studio 10'' is an example of this backfiring hard. It was crammed into the program during any possible rerun of various shows, and it got so bad that Nick actually ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4OVok7cUvU interrupted whatever show was playing]]'' to air a random clip of something and/or a ''Studio 10'' skit instead of waiting for the next commercial break, even if the episode in question was an older one. This led to the series gaining a massive hatedom, and ''Studio 10'' became a rare case of a series seemingly bullied off the air by social media.
* Creator/TeenNick can basically be called "The ''Franchise/{{Degrassi}}'' and [[Series/Zoey101 anything]] [[Series/TrueJacksonVP like]] [[Series/H2OJustAddWater it"]] channel.
** Noggin's nighttime programming block for teens, The N, first picked up ''One on One'' reruns in early 2006. They began running the show ad nauseam, with the occasional ''Series/{{Degrassi|TheNextGeneration}}'' re-run in the prime time slots and new episodes would air infrequently of their other shows. A year later in spring 2007, The N's line-up was two episodes of ''Series/TheFreshPrinceOfBelAir'', then two episodes of ''One on One'', then two episodes of ''The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air'', then two episodes of ''One on One''. ''Degrassi'' completely disappeared from the schedule, save for re-runs at 3AM on the weekends.
** ''Degrassi'' is an especially unusual case since Nick[=/=]Creator/{{Viacom}} does not own merchandising rights to the show, and Epitome Pictures makes separate agreements for DVD production.
** ''Degrassi'' was also adored by the Canadian channel Creator/MuchMusic. When a new season starts, all day is given over to the runup to the premiere. This makes a little more sense for them - Degrassi and Epitome's other current production ''Series/TheLAComplex'' are Much's flagship original dramas.
** ''Series/Zoey101'' and ''Series/DrakeAndJosh'' re-runs have more or less taken over Creator/TeenNick's entire schedule during the day and early evening. It's to the point that even long-time fans of both shows have expressed annoyance at the shows being played way too much in a given day.
** As soon as ''Series/OpenHeart'' started airing on [=TeenNick=], the channel would air it no less than 4 times a day.
** As of 2019, the schedule of the channel outside of ''[=NickRewind=]'' is nothing but reruns of shows that were once adored by the main Nickelodeon channel in the past, including ''Series/{{Victorious}}'', ''Series/{{iCarly}}'', ''Series/GameShakers'', ''Series/TheThundermans'', and ''Series/NickyRickyDickyAndDawn'' re-runs. However, since sometimes in 2020, NRDD has suddenly stopped airing on TV altogether for unexplained reasons (although the show recently joined Netflix), and the other shows not named The Thundermans were either occasionally removed from the channel's lineup or reduced to only airing on rotating marathons during the middle of the day.
** In recent months, [=TeenNick=] has slowly turned into the superhero network with half of its schedule consisting of the [=DangerVerse=] (Henry Danger and its spinoff Danger Force) and The Thundermans. It gets to the point where its weekend lineup is nothing but the aforementioned shows. Their adoration of Henry Danger has been taken to another level where if the [=DangerVerse=] does something important (such as HD's series finale, Henry returning to Swellview in DF, season finale/premiere), they make excuses to air every single episode of the show, no matter what.
** By April 2023, [=TeenNick=] is the ''Henry Danger'' Network in all but name. Quite literally 99% of its "schedule" is ''Henry Danger'' and its spinoff ''Danger Force''. ''Series/ErinAndAaron'' and to a lesser extent ''Series/TheReallyLoudHouse'' were the only two shows that aired in between, and even then, the two aforementioned shows air way more. Granted, the channel has been over-airing ''Henry Danger'' for a while now, but this is the worst it’s ever been. It almost makes MTV's over-airing of ''Ridiculousness'' look '''tame''' by comparison. Once the week of July 10, 2023 came into play, the channel was JUST running this and its spin-off. HilarityEnsues [[https://twitter.com/hyperschedules/status/1678213974037344256?s=46&t=BVq7Xw9oCbwjyy0o8PAATg for everyone watching]].
* The former Nick [=GaS=] channel (replaced by [=TeenNick=]) was especially bad at this towards the end of its life. From October 31, 2005 until the network went off the air at the end of 2007[[note]](for unknown reasons, Dish Network continued to carry [=GaS=] until April 23, 2009)[[/note]], a mere five shows aired in heavy rotation: ''Series/LegendsOfTheHiddenTemple'', ''[[Series/DoubleDare1986 Double Dare 2000]]'', ''Series/NickelodeonGuts'' (save for ''Global GUTS''), ''Series/GetThePicture'', and ''Series/FigureItOut''. ''Series/NickArcade'' and ''Series/FindersKeepers'' also aired during the most dead of hours until the latter was removed from the schedule in September 2006 in favor of more ''Figure it Out''.
* The United Kingdom feed of Nickleodeon is mostly comprised of re-runs of ''Series/TheThundermans'' and ''Series/HenryDanger''.
** They also loved their late 90s original show ''Renford Rejects'' so much that it was still aired as late as ''2020'' (albeit at about 2 in the morning).
* ''America's Most Musical Family'' got constant Twitter promotions (with the ad appearing in every ad slot on the website), was heavily promoted on Nick itself, and even got a simulcast not just on Nickelodeon, but on Creator/{{BET}}, Creator/{{MTV}}, [=MTV2=], Creator/ParamountNetwork, TV Land and Creator/{{VH1}}, which is considered an impressive feat for something that isn't an AwardShow. It even has ads on non-Viacom networks like Creator/{{NBC}}.
* When it was airing, ''Series/TheBarbarianAndTheTroll'' was treated like this. It got constant promotion, and was aired a lot on Nick, Nicktoons and Teen Nick (it also aired during the hours of Nick at Nite at one point).
* As of January 2022, for the most part, the '''entirety''' of the ''[=NickRewind=]'' block is ''iCarly''. The only other shows to have aired on it in 2022 so far are ''Rugrats'' and ''Hey Arnold!''.
** As of February 2022, ''[=NickRewind=]'' is discontinued, but ''iCarly'' continues to air in it's slot. It is speculated that bringing ''iCarly'' to the block was their way to kill it off.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Movies]]
* From 2015 to 2016, if the day was a holiday (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving, etc.) or a [[NoHoperRepeat special event on a different network]] such as the Super Bowl or an awards show (i.e. Grammies, Emmies, Oscars), there was a high chance that ''WesternAnimation/RugratsInParis'' would be on that night. The movie also played every other week during that time period.
** Before ''Rugrats in Paris'', from 2009-2012, Nickelodeon used these same excuses to air the first live-action ''Film/ScoobyDoo'' movie. (Ironically, it's ''Scooby-Doo'', which is normally adored by [[Creator/CartoonNetwork Nick's competitor]]!)
* Whenever there's a big [=SpongeBob=] marathon, you can almost always expect an airing of ''WesternAnimation/TheSpongeBobSquarePantsMovie''. Sometimes, they will air it TWO or more times in the same marathon. It was like this during the 10th anniversary marathon, as well as one promoting a new episode. Nowadays it's gotten to the point where they'll play the ''[=SpongeBob=]'' movie just to fill space that they can't fill with more ''[=SpongeBob=]''. No real rhyme or reason, you'll just tune in one day and there it'll be.
** Around late 2015 however, they suddenly stopped airing the movie on random weeknights. This is most likely due to having it on Netflix around that time. Fast forward to November 2016, when the movie was taken off the service, and they're basically doing the same thing they always do with it.
** They also gave this treatment to the movie's sequel. ''WesternAnimation/TheSpongeBobMovieSpongeOutOfWater''. Whenever [=SpongeBob=] gets the day off for marathons of ''The Loud House'', they will show it to make up for the loss of [=SpongeBob=] that day.
** The treatment for both movies died down once again when HBO Family got the rights to the movies in September 2019.
* Nickelodeon adored ''Jinxed'' back in November and December of 2013 and played it a lot during the summer of 2014.
* As of March 2015, since they got the rights to air ''WesternAnimation/MadagascarEscape2Africa'', Nick's been playing it as much as possible. It sort of makes sense, considering they air ''WesternAnimation/ThePenguinsOfMadagascar'' on the channel.
** In the summer of 2021, they would do the same thing with the film by airing it at least once a week across their various networks. It even aired on Nick Jr!
* In early 2016, Nickelodeon was infatuated with the first ''WesternAnimation/CloudyWithAChanceOfMeatballs'' movie. You could barely go a weekend without seeing it.
* As of March 2018, Nickelodeon loves playing ''Film/AlvinAndTheChipmunks'' and ''WesternAnimation/TheNutJob'' as programming filler, with the latter movie being shown the most.
* ''[=NickSplat=]'' seems to have an odd love for ''WesternAnimation/TheWildThornberrysMovie'', airing it more often than any other Nick movie and repeatedly throughout the months of June and July 2017.
* As of 2019, Nick loves to play ''WesternAnimation/IceAge'' movies (specifically ''[[WesternAnimation/IceAgeTheMeltdown The Meltdown]]'', ''[[WesternAnimation/IceAgeDawnOfTheDinosaurs Dawn of the Dinosaurs]]'' and ''WesternAnimation/IceAgeContinentalDrift'') just as much as the ''[=SpongeBob=]'' movies. ''Film/TheToothFairy'' is also given this treatment as well.
* Ever since their debut on the network in fall 2020, Nick seems to have taken a page out of Disney Channel's book by airing ''WesternAnimation/DespicableMe1'' and ''WesternAnimation/DespicableMe2'' whenever they get the chance. Chances are if Nick is airing a movie and they aren't airing ''Sponge Out Of Water'', it will be at least one of the two. Sometimes, they'll even air both of them back to back. Both movies are often used as a lead-in for premieres (such as The Astronauts premiere, Slime Cup), usually boosting their ratings.
** A similar pattern has occurred with the first two ''WesternAnimation/HotelTransylvania'' installments. On President's Day of 2022, they wound up airing twice in the span of 14 hours.
* When ''Film/SonicTheHedgehog2020'' and ''WesternAnimation/TrollsWorldTour'' premiered on the channel in 2022, Nick advertised it by promising one back to back screening per night for the following two days. Both films have since been added to the current rotation.
* Ever since the summer of 2022, Nickelodeon uses any opportunity it can to air ''WesternAnimation/TheLorax2012''. It gets to the point where it will often play two days in a row.
* Since its premiere on the channel in October 2022, Nick has played ''WesternAnimation/TheAddamsFamily2019'' at least once per month. Particularly in the month of October, it has aired 14 times on Nick (both in 2022 and 2023) due to its horror nature.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Nick At Nite/[=NickMom=] programming]]
* As a general rule of thumb, whenever Creator/NickAtNite and TV Land get the rights to a new show, they always give it something of an introductory marathon to get people into the groove of watching it. They tend to do it with most shows when they first get the rights to them.
* Creator/NickAtNite was every bit as bad with ''Series/TheGeorgeLopezShow'', probably worse. First, they would run marathons of the show for every occasion imaginable using any excuse they could get, no matter how shoddy. Then they did away with the excuses, and began showing marathons of ''George Lopez'' without even giving an excuse to do so. On multiple occasions, they aired '''over 40 hours''' of it in one week, setting up a bizarre situation -- his self-titled TalkShow on Creator/{{TBS}} often competed with his own old sitcom.
** It got so ridiculous that Nick at Nite decided to celebrate ''Saint Patrick's Day'' (which in America at least is viewed as basically being a day to celebrate Irish heritage) with "Luck of the Lopez" week.
** During the 2000's, the entire Nick at Nite lineup was revamped multiple times and ''Series/TheFreshPrinceOfBelAir'', ''Series/TheNanny'', ''Series/MalcolmInTheMiddle'', and ''Series/FamilyMatters'' have all come and gone....but ''George Lopez'' '''remained untouched in the lineup''' after all this time.
** Until Viacom began their 'six prime networks' strategy and turned it into a glorified Spanish music video server, Tr3s also overplayed ''Lopez''.
* In 2011, ''Series/{{Friends}}'' got a lot of overexposure when it was added to the Nick At Nite line-up. That year's schedule was normally an hour of ''Series/FullHouse'', an hour of ''Series/TheNanny'', then about 2 hours of ''Friends'', leaving ''Series/TheGeorgeLopezShow'' to air at 1:00AM.
** ''Friends'' has since become the mainstay of the Nick & Nite schedule. As of 2024, the Nick & Nite schedule is five hours of ''Friends'', followed by about 2 hours of ''Series/{{Mom}}'' and 2 hours of ''Series/MikeAndMolly''.
* ''The Nanny'' was also adored by Nick At Nite in 2010. Nick At Nite would play marathons of the show on major holidays, and aired three hours of it a day.
* Creator/NickAtNite loved ''Fresh Prince'' when they had the syndication rights to it. There were several times where they'd show four episodes in one two-hour block. It was also an "introductory" staple for a while, where it would be the first show after the regular Nick schedule ends, possibly to attract a younger crowd.
* After Creator/NickAtNite managed to deal ''Series/TheGeorgeLopezShow'' a similar fate as ''Series/WhoWantsToBeAMillionaire'' in the eyes of many viewers (see [[AdoredByTheNetwork/LiveActionTV this page]]), they moved on to ''Series/MyWifeAndKids''.
** As of November 2016, the block airs 4 hours of ''Series/{{Friends}}'' each night. On weekends and major holidays, the block will be nothing but Friends repeats. It's pretty clear that ''Friends'' has usurped ''The George Lopez Show'''s position on the block at overexposure.
* [=NickMom=], Nick Jr.'s answer to the main Nickelodeon network's Nick At Nite, loved to air ''Series/TheNewAdventuresOfOldChristine'', airing nothing but the show for half of the block on weekends.
** Before that, it was ''[=NickMom=] Night Out''.
** However, this case was because most of [=NickMom=]'s starting shows were either ruthlessly panned by Nick Jr. viewers[[note]]let's put it this way: the regular Nick Jr. network's target audience would be in bed by the time [=NickMom=] came around, but Nick Jr. didn't have [[MediaNotes/ANSIStandardBroadcastTVSchedule east coast/west coast feeds]] until quietly adding a Pacific feed in February 2013, so what airs at 10pm in the east starts at 7pm on the West Coast and 4pm in Hawaii... and viewers from the West and Hawaii expecting kid-friendly stuff like Dora were shocked to instead find such gems as women doing stand-up comedy routines about how painful their vaginae were after birthing, or ''Series/TheBradyBunch'' reruns with [[PopUpTrivia snarky pop-up comments]] from Carol[[/note]] or plain ignored, so going into the archives for reruns of mom-centric shows was the best way to salvage the lineup. By March 2015 not even ''that'' was working, and during that month the ''Film/{{Babe}}'' films seemed to be on a loop during the [=NickMom=] timeslot, along with ''Series/That70sShow'' reruns. Thankfully someone then realized ''{{Series/Parenthood}}'' reruns were ready to be sold, and by the next month that show would be fruitfully airing on [=NickMom=].
** In the summer of 2015, they'd take every chance they could to air ''Film/AboutLastNight''.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Nick Jr. programming]]
* Before 2013, ''WesternAnimation/DoraTheExplorer'' used to be the most adored preschool show on Nickelodeon, airing at least four times during the morning hours. Any special episodes of Dora were shown on normal Nickelodeon hours (or tail end of Nick Jr. hours) on the main channel. The specials even showed up on Nick's syndicated programming blocks that used to air on CBS in the early 2000s. It helped that it spent several years as Nick's most popular franchise that wasn't named ''[=SpongeBob=]''. Not to mention it spent over a decade as the number one highest rated preschool television show, beating out staples like ''Series/SesameStreet'' and fellow Nick Jr. series like ''WesternAnimation/BluesClues''.
** The 2024 reboot of the show seems to be headed this way even before it began airing. Many episodes were uploaded as sneak peeks on [=YouTube=], a short based on the reboot played before ''WesternAnimation/PAWPatrolTheMightyMovie'', the new Dora has been included in promotions with other Nick Jr. shows, and Dora was one of the hosts of Nickelodeon's broadcast of the 2024 Super Bowl.
* By Labor Day of 2013, the crown would be overtaken by ''WesternAnimation/PAWPatrol'', which would run 4 episodes a day, and Dora was reduced to one airing a day. This is likely due to both the rise of streaming, and kid's focus shifting towards ''Disney Junior'' shows like ''WesternAnimation/DocMcStuffins'', and especially ''WesternAnimation/SofiaTheFirst''. The failure of the ''[[WesternAnimation/DorasExplorerGirls Dora & Friends]]'' spinoff didn't help much either.
** As of 2017, you can expect to see ''PAW Patrol'' on the Nick Jr block at least 6 times a day, whereas Dora reruns are gone entirely. On holidays that usually result in a day off of school, as well as on Fridays when there's no new episodes of other shows, expect to see at least 15 episodes that day. There have even been marathons on days when didn't have off of school as well. For example, on January 15, 2017, which was the day ''WesternAnimation/MickeyAndTheRoadsterRacers'' premiered on Disney Channel, the whole Nick Jr. block that day was comprised of ''PAW Patrol'' re-runs. Like what used to happen with [=SpongeBob=], Nick Jr. will play all-day marathons of the show whenever a new ''PAW Patrol'' episode is about to premiere. They also do this for highly-anticipated episodes of other shows (like the ''WesternAnimation/ThomasAndFriends'' special ''Big World! Big Adventures!'').
** The show's adoration has gone to the point where. Nickelodeon sacrificed the 2PM hour that used to go to ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'' for another hour of ''PAW Patrol'' for an entire year [[note]]The last time Nick Jr. ran this late was in 1991.[[/note]] and that the show runs more times than ''[=SpongeBob=]'' does. It is also the first animated Nick Jr. show to air outside of regular Nick Jr. hours (aside from airing special episodes), as the show received a two-hour weekend afternoon block in August of 2018.
** Italy [[http://nickalive.blogspot.com/2017/04/nick-jr-italy-announces-paw-patrol.html made a channel]] that showed nothing but ''PAW Patrol'' for a week.
*** As well as that, [[https://nickalive.blogspot.com/2019/08/paw-patrol-to-take-over-nick-jr-too-uk.html the UK turned Nick Jr. Too (a channel that aired reruns of other shows) into Nick Jr. PAW Patrol for a month]].
** From December 26, 2018 to December 31, 2018, the Nick Jr. block played nothing but ''PAW Patrol'' to promote ''WesternAnimation/AbbyHatcher'', the show's DistaffCounterpart. They would later do the same thing three weeks later to hype up the fifth season finale.
** On March 4, 2019, a nearly all-day marathon was run to entertain kids stuck in the house due to a snowstorm.
** Whenever Nick Jr. doesn't feel like showing two normal ''PAW Patrol'' episodes, "[[WesternAnimation/PAWPatrolMightyPups Mighty Pups]]", the hour-long special for the show, will be shown to fill up time, similar to what used to happen to ''The [=SpongeBob=] [=SquarePants=] Movie''. It would later happen to the other hour-long specials, to the point where they'll occasionally replace the slot of another program (usually on the Creator/NickJr channel).
** Also, whenever a short-form series (Like The [=BeatBuds=], Let's Jam!) is in the regular schedule, expect a PAW Patrol short and a normal segment to follow afterwards.
** In the Summer of 2019, ''PAW Patrol'' became the ''only'' show to air on the Nick Jr. block, taking up almost the entire six hour runtime, save for one episode of another show filling in the last half hour or so. This also happened in the summer of 2021, but was done to promote the upcoming film and had an hour of ''WesternAnimation/PeppaPig'' at the start of the block.
** Similar to what happens with ''[=SpongeBob=]'' and ''The Loud House'', Nick will sacrifice reruns of other shows for unscheduled airings of this program, usually one of the special episodes like "Pups Save Friendship Day" and "The New Pup". This also happens on the 24/7 channel.
** In mid-June 2020, the period from 11:30AM to 7PM on the 24/7 channel was comprised of almost non-stop airings of the show, save for a one-hour break for ''WesternAnimation/BluesCluesAndYou'' from 4:30PM to 5:30PM.
** From August 24, 2020 to August 28, 2020, the Nick Jr. block ran only this show to promote a new ''Dino Rescue'' episode.
** Ever since the ''Moto Pups'' episode premiered, Nickelodeon has been showing it every single day, on both the main Nickelodeon network and the Nick Jr. network.
** On Saturdays in March of 2021, the show aired for 7 hours in a row just to promote the sneak peak of the movie being shown at the [[MediaNotes/KidsChoiceAward Kids' Choice Awards]] that month.
** On the 4th of July in 2021, they aired a five hour marathon on the Nick Jr. Channel, consisting of only Mighty Pups episodes and the titular mini movie. They also aired various shorts during commercial breaks, such as an educational short on diggers with clips of Rubble in between, and a quiz about Skye. They did the same thing on July 10, 2021 with the ''Sea Patrol'' episodes, likely to promote the then-upcoming movie.
** When the movie premiered, the Nick Jr. channel added several slots of the show to promote the film.
** On October 14, 2021, the Nick Jr. block aired a PAW Patrol marathon for the entirety of the block's runtime to hype up "Pups Save the Hiding Elephants / Pups Save a Yodeler".
** Beginning in June 2022, the entire Creator/NickJr block became comprised of airings of PAW Patrol, save for the occasional airing of ''Face's Music Party'' or ''Kiri and Lou''.
** Ever since the summer of 2023, the Nick Jr channel airs at least 12 hours of the show a day, with only an occasional break for ''WesternAnimation/PeppaPig'' or ''WesternAnimation/BubbleGuppies'', the latter being only shown during graveyard slots.
* Nick Jr. UK '''enshrines''' ''WesternAnimation/PeppaPig'' to and beyond ''[=SpongeBob=]'' levels, airing it at least 15 times a day. In fact, on some months, Nick Jr. Too will rebrand itself to Nick Jr. Peppa and air nothing (aside from Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom in the early morning hours) but the show for ''30 days.'' [[note]]Nick Jr. Too's regular schedule is hours of Peppa on end anyway.[[/note]] A few years later, they did a similar thing with PAW Patrol, and the two constantly rotate every year.
** The success of other shows are pitted against Peppa as well - if a show does not perform well on the main channel, it is taken to dead hours for a short while, and then pulled altogether, not even being pushed to Nick Jr Too, so as not to take away Peppa rerun time.
** Before that, they used to love playing anything by [[WesternAnimation/ThomasAndFriends Britt]] [[WesternAnimation/MagicAdventuresOfMumfie Allcroft]]. Thomas used to air at least four times a day, and sometimes competes with its own airings on Creator/Channel5's Milkshake! block.
** In the summer of 2016, the American Nick Jr. channel aired as much ''Peppa Pig'' and ''Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom'' as the UK one did, and it was second to ''Paw Patrol'' for the most run program.
* As of 2018, Nick Jr worships, over-airs, and insanely promotes the following shows ([[http://www.nickjr.com in this specific order]]): ''WesternAnimation/PawPatrol'', ''WesternAnimation/ShimmerAndShine'', ''WesternAnimation/BlazeAndTheMonsterMachines'', ''WesternAnimation/TopWing'', ''WesternAnimation/SunnyDay'', and ''WesternAnimation/RustyRivets''. The Nick Jr. block on Nickelodeon is designed to air these shows and these shows only. They even get major promotion on video streaming sites! Now that's gotta take the cake. Unfortunately, all shows except ''PAW Patrol'' and ''Blaze and the Monster Machines'' eventually ended up being screwed, on account of new shows as mentioned later.
* Since its initial run ended in October 2016, ''WesternAnimation/BubbleGuppies'' still gets extreme promotion and merchandising, and even a live tour. Such success has led the show to be UnCancelled.
* From Fall 2015 until October 2017, ''Series/{{Teletubbies}}'' was aired at least five times on weekends, which is more than [[WesternAnimation/DoraTheExplorer certain]] [[WesternAnimation/KuuKuuHarajuku other]] [[WesternAnimation/PeppaPig shows]]. Justified, as it was the Nick Jr. channel's highest-rated show that wasn't named ''WesternAnimation/PAWPatrol'', beating reruns of ''Team Umizoomi'' and ''Bubble Guppies'' in the ratings. Also, while most shows on the Noggin app only have a few seasons up for streaming, almost every single episode of ''Teletubbies'' can be viewed on there.
** The 1997 version of ''Teletubbies'' is the most frequently played on the Pluto TV Nick Jr. channel, airing six times a day.
* Back when Nick Jr. was Noggin, they had a balanced schedule, but tended to overplay ''WesternAnimation/{{Franklin}}'' and ''WesternAnimation/PinkyDinkyDoo'' three times a day. Before the latter show came about, ''Series/{{Tweenies}}'' and ''Series/SesameStreet'' got this treatment.
* As of March 2018, the channel has a balanced schedule during the daytime, but tends to air nothing but ''WesternAnimation/BluesClues'' and ''WesternAnimation/DoraTheExplorer'' during the overnight hours.
* ''WesternAnimation/ThomasAndFriends'' got this treatment from Nickelodeon. The show airs three times a day on the Nick Jr. channel, and is the first non-Canadian acquired show aired on the main Nickelodeon block since ''Series/LazyTown''. [[note]] not counting the times they ran ''WestenAnimation/PeppaPig'' episodes on holidays or for special occasions.[[/note]] It's justified as the show constantly gets ratings on par with (or at times higher than) those of ''PAW Patrol'' and is a major CashCowFranchise. The popularity of the Nickelodeon run of the show has lead to Nickelodeon making ''WesternAnimation/PeppaPig'', another British animated series, a regular part of the line-up.
* A strange example of this trope happened from 1996 until 2000. ''WesternAnimation/BluesClues'' would run the same episode on the Nick Jr. block from Monday through Friday before switching to the next one in order for the educational themes of the episode to stick in the viewer's minds. In addition, from 1996 to the early 2000's the Nick Jr. screen bug wasn't present during broadcasts. When it first premiered, ''WesternAnimation/DoraTheExplorer'' also aired the same episode from Monday through Friday.
** The sequel series, ''WesternAnimation/BluesCluesAndYou'', got this even before it premiered, with Vudu streaming three episodes for free, Josh and Blue showing up in several Nick Jr. ads before it premiered, multiple trailers for the show being produced (some of which premiered first during new episodes of other shows on Nickelodeon) and even getting a ''UsefulNotes/MacysThanksgivingDayParade'' float announced for the series before it proved ratings-worthy. When it premiered, new episodes aired for two weeks in a row. It now plays as much as ''PAW Patrol'' does, to the point where it took some of the slots for that show. In addition, the Thanksgiving week 2019 schedule for the Nick Jr. block (which was two weeks after it premiered) was nothing but ''PAW Patrol'' and ''Blue's Clues and You!''.
* ''Ryan's Mystery Playdate'' seems to be getting this treatment. The show has afternoon timeslots where it premieres new episodes in normal Nickelodeon timeslots in addition to the slots on the preschool block, making it the first show in 20 years to be a regular program on both Nickelodeon and the Nick Jr. block since ''WesternAnimation/{{Rugrats}}''. It helps that the show's based on a popular Website/YouTube [[WebVideo/RyanToysReview channel]]. Unlike ''Rugrats'', which is aimed towards all ages, mostly preschoolers watch the ''Ryan'' TV series and [=YouTube=] channel, which makes it a strange addition to the regular Nickelodeon lineup. The show was [[https://deadline.com/2019/04/ryans-mystery-playdate-renewed-season-2-youtube-star-nickelodeon-ratings-1202601302/ renewed for a season 2]] five days after its debut.
* During Nick Jr's rebrand in 2012, the channel aired nothing but ''Dora The Explorer'', ''WesternAnimation/GoDiegoGo'', ''Bubble Guppies'' and ''WesternAnimation/TeamUmizoomi'' during the daytime hours with the occasional ''WesternAnimation/MikeTheKnight'' thrown in. During this period, all other programming on the channel aired during the late night hours.
* In the late 2000s and early 2010s, the Dutch Nick Jr channel would air ''WesternAnimation/PostmanPat'' for about ''five'' hours a day on weekends...
* Given that the source material is ''extremely'' popular with young children, ''Animation/BabySharksBigShow'' got this treatment. It debuted with a holiday special, the title character made an appearance during [[MediaNotes/KidsChoiceAward the 2021 Kids' Choice Awards]], received a merchandise line, and got renewed for a second season and a feature-length movie mere months after its debut.
* ''WesternAnimation/RubbleAndCrew'', being a spin-off of ''PAW Patrol'', already got their treatment early in its run. Since June 2023, it's normal for Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. to play the show for an hour, even with the limited amount of episodes it had.

* For a time at the dawn of TheNewTens, Nickelodeon would greenlight just about anything as a vehicle for Lucas Cruikshank (better known as WebVideo/{{Fred}}). First, they gave him three movies based around his Fred character. Then, they gave Fred a series despite the fact that none of the movies were ''that'' popular. Then when Nickelodeon canceled all of its sitcoms, they went ahead and gave Cruikshank a new series in the form of ''Series/MarvinMarvin''. [[https://twitter.com/LucasCruikshank/status/350056101502386178 That said, not long after the series ended, so did Cruikshank's relationship with Nickelodeon.]] It should be noted that he views ''Marvin Marvin'' [[CreatorBacklash quite harshly]] and has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSJ98cLVkQI reacted to it]] on his [=YouTube=] channel.
* Since the second half of the decade, Nick loves to shove ''Series/DanceMoms'' star Jojo Siwa in every other thing. They had her guest star on ''Series/TheThundermans'', ''Series/SchoolOfRock'', ''Series/MakeItPop'' and ''[=TeenNick=] Top 10'', had her perform at the HALO Awards, won three Kids Choice Awards blimps (and she had a lot of screen for [=KCAs=] 2019, almost as much as host DJ Khaled), had her star on the variety specials ''Nickelodeon's Ultimate Halloween Haunted House'' and ''Nickelodeon's Sizzling Summer Camp Special'', gave her a special called ''Jojo Siwa: My World'' in August 2017, gave her a merchandise line, had her as the host of ''Lip Sync Battle Shorties'', had her star in the movie ''Blurt!'', gave her a cartoon series exclusive to [=YouTube=], had her go on her own concert tour and gave her a voice role in ''WesternAnimation/MiddleSchoolMoguls''.
* Jace Norman is also treated this way, but not to the extent of Jojo. In the 5 years he's been on Nick, he's gotten 2 separate TV shows and 5 separate movies (1 of which got a sequel), and also guest-starred on ''WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse''.
* Wrestling/JohnCena has been host of the Kids Choice Awards for 2 years in a row (2017 and 2018), had his own game show (''Keep It Spotless''), and hosts Nickelodeon's version of ''Series/AreYouSmarterThanA5thGrader'', among other promotions.
* Before there was John Cena, there was Creator/JackBlack, who appeared almost everywhere on the network in the TurnOfTheMillennium. Examples include hosting the Kids' Choice Awards at least three times, having the main role in the Nickelodeon movie ''Film/NachoLibre'' (which is one of his most iconic roles), and guest starring on the Nick Jr. program ''Series/YoGabbaGabba'' (and, unlike most guest stars, had a whole episode dedicated to him rather than a single segment). Had ''Film/GulliversTravels2010'' not been a bomb, this adoration would be still going today.
* Young Dylan has become one of the faces of the network. Since 2020, he has a TV show created by Tyler Perry, occasionally shows up as a panelist on Unfiltered, appears on NFL Slimetime with Nate Burleson (a weekly show reccaping football), and even had a few guest appearances on fellow black sitcom That Girl Lay Lay. He replaced Lex Lumpkin for the sideline reporter for the NFL on Nickelodeon broadcasts as well as the Slime Cup.
* Out of all the cast members to come out of the 2019 All That revival, Gabrielle Nevaeh Green is already their favorite. She's one of the panelists for Unfiltered, and her exposure started to grow when it was announced she would be an announcer for Nick's sports events (a position she has held until 2022). Not to mention, she's one of the main cast members for ''Series/ThatGirlLayLay'', which became a hit when it came to Netflix.

* Sometimes Nick combines overplayed shows into giant marathons or blocks that can take up entire days:
** On 11/26/10, they played a six-hour ''[=SpongeBob=]'' marathon, followed by an ''iCarly'' marathon at 3, ending with ''iStart a Fan War'' at 7, and wrapped it up with the premiere of the ''Victorious'' special, "Freak the Freak Out".
** On Latin America's channel, almost all weekends are 48 hour marathons of either ''[=SpongeBob=]'' or ''iCarly''.
* Nickelodeon loved showing [[https://twitter.com/nickelodeon/status/1139296241555320834 this ad]] for their summer line-up as a sponsored tweet on Twitter in 2019. It's usually paired with one of the aforementioned tweets about ''All That'' if it appeared when said show was about to premiere a brand-new episode that evening.
