->''"Where ya gonna find another girl who can shoot the eye out of a Bug at two hundred meters?"''
-->-- '''Dizzy Flores''', ''WesternAnimation/RoughnecksStarshipTroopersChronicles''
{{Action Girl}}s in Western animated series.
----
* Niko from ''WesternAnimation/AdventuresOfTheGalaxyRangers'', who also had PsychicPowers. ''Galaxy Rangers'' also boasted Action Girl recurring characters like Princess Maya, Annie O, and Audra Miles.
* Princess Jasmine is more of a DamselOutOfDistress than a proper Action Girl in ''WesternAnimation/{{Aladdin}}''. However, in [[WesternAnimation/AladdinTheSeries the TV show spinoff]], she graduates to this trope.
* Clover on ''WesternAnimation/AllHailKingJulien'' serves as Julien's body guard and special ops.
* Rose from ''WesternAnimation/AmericanDragonJakeLong''. She is actually a highly skilled hunter, trained by the Huntsclan to fight and slay dragons.
* The title character from ''WesternAnimation/AtomicBetty'' is a spacefaring superheroine.
* ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'' has a lot of them:
** [[DishingOutDirt Toph]] is a [[CuteBruiser small]] [[DisabilitySuperpower blind girl]] who is introduced beating up a large earthbender named: "The Boulder", and later defeats him, and a bunch of other wrestlers, [[CurbStompBattle easily.]]
** Katara started off as incompetent but as the series went on she graduated to Master Waterbender and full on ActionGirl.
** [[BadassNormal Suki]] and her Kyoshi warriors, who were inspired by...
** Avatar Kyoshi, who created an island by ''splitting it off from the continent'' during a battle.
** Avatar Yanchan is never seen fighting, but as an Avatar can be presumed to be this.
** Any female character is awesome in their own right, like Azula's QuirkyMinibossSquad.
* SequelSeries ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra'' has a few as well.
** Korra the current Avatar, a ChildProdigy, LightningBruiser and SpiritedCompetitor when wielding her considerable ElementalPowers.
** Chief Lin Bei Fong: Head of Republic City police, [[ExtraOreDinary metal bender]] and Toph's daughter.
** ''Korra'' also has Asami, a continuation of the ''Avatar'' 'verse's BadassNormal tradition [[spoiler:and Korra's [[OfficialCouple eventual girlfriend]] in the bargain]]. She's a [[ProperLady polite young lady]] living in Republic City, and has had extensive self-defense training.
** The two little Airbending girls, [[BadassBookworm Jinora]] and [[BadassAdorable Ikki]]. With their creative air-bending they make fine fighters.
** Katara's daughter, Kya, a master Waterbender like her mother.
** Suyin Bei Fong, Toph's other daughter. As tough as her sister with a less traditional fighting style.
** Suyin's daughter, Opal, grew into one once she got the hang of her Airbending.
* Uniqua and Tasha from ''WesternAnimation/TheBackyardigans'' are preschool-friendly action girls.
* ''Franchise/Ben10'':
** Gwen has a few action girl moments in the first season of the original series. After she starts learning magic, she becomes consistenly more useful in battle and is a powerful sorceress by the time of [[WesternAnimation/Ben10AlienForce the sequel series]].
** Max's alien ex-girlfriend Xylene has powerful [[MindOverMatter telekinetic powers]] and is very capable in battle. She was also the one that fired the shot that put [[DarkLordOnLifeSupport Vilgax on life support for most of the first season]].
* Carbine, a recurring character on ''WesternAnimation/BikerMiceFromMars''.
* Beth Tezuka from ''WebAnimation/BravestWarriors''. She frequently fights alien monsters with her teammates.
* Mira Nova, ''WesternAnimation/BuzzLightyearOfStarCommand''.
* Shao Lin from ''WesternAnimation/CaptainSimianAndTheSpaceMonkeys''.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Chaotic}}''.
** Sara. Admittedly, she looks like the FauxActionGirl for most of the first season, and is quickly defeated in the first battle she has, but the first battle of hers that the viewer actually ''sees'' is one of the most intense combats in the series up to that point.
** Some female creatures on the show also provide examples, such as Intress, Laarina, and Takinom.
* [[GadgeteerGenius Gadget]] from ''WesternAnimation/ChipNDaleRescueRangers'' can turn into one if need be, especially in "The Case of the Cola Cult".
* Yumi Ishiyama from ''WesternAnimation/CodeLyoko''. Aelita also grows into one throughout the series, to settle it starting Season 3.
* The girls of the ''WesternAnimation/CodenameKidsNextDoor'', including [[BewareTheNiceOnes Numbuh Three]] (Kuki Sanban), [[TheLancer Numbuh Five]] (Abigail Lincoln) and [[ReasonableAuthorityFigure Numbuh Three Sixty Two]] (Racheal [=McKenzie=]).
* Valerie Gray from ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom''. She's been stated as a ninth-degree martial artist despite being [[CompetenceZone only 14]].
* Elise of ''WesternAnimation/DanVs'' as Action Wife. Which is why Dan doesn't add her to his revenge list. He's too scared of her.
* Candy from ''WesternAnimation/DaveTheBarbarian''. Sometimes parodied, sometimes played straight. Also Fang, Candy's much more aggressive younger sister.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheDragonPrince'' has several examples. First we see the elven assassin Rayla. She is a 15-year-old girl, but more than capable of fighting against adult men and even against other elven assassins. She travels with two boys, and in her group she is undoubtedly the fighter who protects the boys.
** And there is also Claudia. While she is a witch rather than a fighter, she is still courageous and does not fear dangers. After the end of the second season, she is probably more in the direction of [[DarkActionGirl Dark Action Girl]].
** Amaya is even a general, and a good example for [[BadassNormal Badass Normal]]. She can not only hold well against elven fighters, but is also by far the strongest fighter among the soldiers.
** A flashback shows her sister Sarai, who was even superior in martial arts to her husband, King Harrow. How badass she really is, is shown by the fact that she is fighting a dragon so that her husband, [[YouShallNotPass his court magician and a group of injured soldiers can escape]].
** Queen Aanya is later shown to be a fantastic archer, using that skill to take down [[spoiler: super-powered monster soldiers in a huge battle]].
** Later seasons can show more examples because [[GenderIsNoObject gender plays no role]] in the assassins and soldiers.
* Leela from ''WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}}''. Easily the most badass person on the crew.
* Elisa Maza in ''WesternAnimation/{{Gargoyles}}'' (except in the case of {{gravity|is a harsh mistress}}).
** And [[MamaBear Fox]], and [[DarkActionGirl Demona]], and [[TheSixthRanger Angela]], and ''[[RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething Princess Katherine]]''... Heck, ''every'' female in ''WesternAnimation/{{Gargoyles}}'' fits this, even Maggie the Cat is a superhumanly strong, winged mutant who can shoot lightning bolts from her hands.
* All the girls from the Franchise/GIJoe cartoon could fight just as well as their male counterparts.
** It should be noted that the term "Action Girl" was potentially originated from the G.I. Nurse of the 1961 figure line as the DistaffCounterpart of "Action Man".
* Jessica from ''WesternAnimation/GormitiTheLordsOfNatureReturn'', as she proves by [[spoiler:single-handedly defeating the BigBad's pet dragon and knocking down Orrore Profondo (the second strongest of the Volcano Gormiti)]].
* ''WesternAnimation/GravityFalls'': Mabel, Candy, and Grenda have all displayed definite Action Girl traits.
** "Into the Bunker" proves that Wendy is most definitely one of these. Pacifica also handled herself petty well in "The Golf War" and further cements her [[ActionGirl action girl]] status in "Northwest Mansion Mystery".
* FemmeFatale Viper of ''WesternAnimation/JackieChanAdventures'', plus [[FutureBadass Adult]] Jade.
* ''WesternAnimation/JadeArmor'': The show is full of them: We have the titular hero, her mother, her grandmother, her great-grandmother and two of her four villains, all women who are not afraid to trade punches.
* WesternAnimation/{{Jem}} and her band were no strangers to action...neither were their rivals, the Misfits.
* [[LikeFatherLikeSon Like father like daughter]], and so we get Jessie Bannon from ''WesternAnimation/JonnyQuestTheRealAdventures''. Played hilariously when Jonny refuses to shoot a villain, but Jessie picks up the pistol and says she hasn't got that problem.
* Hawkgirl and Wonder Woman, ''WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague''. In ''Unlimited'' we gain Huntress, Black Canary, and Vixen.
* Fiona from ''WesternAnimation/KidVsKat''. Although she prefers to channel her skills into sports, she can still hold her own when she gets in trouble.
* WesternAnimation/KimPossible beats up super-villains for kicks, using only her cheerleading skills. She can do anything indeed.
** Yori and even Zita when she needed to be, making Ron ask, "Are all girls like this, or just the ones I know?"
** Both Kim and Yori double as The ActionGirlfriend.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheLandBeforeTime'': Cera. You have to respect a girl who can shatter rocks with her ''head''.
* Kiva of ''WesternAnimation/MegasXLR''. She was a very skilled mech pilot before she got sent back in time, and can handle a fight physically too.
* Marinette Dupain-Cheng from ''WesternAnimation/MiraculousLadybug'' as Ladybug.
* Moana of ''WesternAnimation/{{Moana}}'', being the only daughter of a chief, is typically portrayed like this in true Disney Princess style.
* [[ActionMom Evy]] and [[{{Bifauxnen}} Yanit]] from ''WesternAnimation/TheMummyTheAnimatedSeries''.
* In ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'', All of the starring mares get their turn. Most obvious are [[LeeroyJenkins Rainbow]] [[SuperSpeed Dash]] and [[{{Tomboy}} Applejack]], while Twilight Sparkle is a BadassBookworm, Pinkie Pie is an [[BadassNormal Earth pony]] who can catch up to even Rainbow Dash, Rarity [[DamselOutOfDistress should never be kept prisoner]], and Fluttershy's outbursts can be... [[BewareTheNiceOnes surprising]].
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Ninjago}}'' brings us Nya, who takes down a horde of skeleton warriors on her own in one of the mini movies. She then creates a samurai alter ego and even surpasses her male teammates in fighting at some points. [[SamusIsAGirl It took them ''forever'' to figure it out.]] She learns in season 6 that [[spoiler:she possesses the elemental power of water and trains to be a ninja alongside the rest of the team]].
* Most of the major female characters on ''WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb'' get a chance to play Action Girl at some point or another. Recurring character [[MadScientistsBeautifulDaughter Vanessa]] may be the best example, though Candace, Isabella and the other Fireside Girls get plenty too. Candace once wrestled an ''alligator'' for an [[MeritBadgesForEverything Achievement Patch]]. The very fact that this was an Achievement patch for ''preteen girls'' speaks volumes about the [[BadassAdorable Fireside Girls.]]
** In the movie ''WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerbTheMovieAcrossThe2ndDimension'' the alternate versions of Isabella and the Fireside girls (who are called "Firestorm Girls" according to WordOfGod), more so than their normal counterparts. Candace-2 is more a LadyOfWar. One only needs to see Candace-2's [[CurbStompBattle first encounter with the Norm-bots]] for proof.
* Agent L in ''WesternAnimation/MenInBlackTheSeries''.
* All three of ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls''. They fight to the degree that it's a rite of passage for kaiju to get beaten by them.
** Ms Bellum. She is one of the most accomplished martial artists in the series, capable of going toe to toe with Sedusa.
* ''WesternAnimation/PrincessGwenevereAndTheJewelRiders'' has the titular heroines themselves: Gwen, Fallon and Tamara, the magical defenders of the Kingdom of Avalon.
* ''WesternAnimation/ReadyJetGo'' has Sydney, who can slip into this territory at times, most notably in "Back to Bortron 7".
* From ''WesternAnimation/ReBoot'', all of the main female characters were more than capable of holding their own, though [=AndrAIa=] was the only one to be consistently in the fight. Dot and Mouse were more often used for their command and technical skills.
* [[CuteBruiser Spinelli]] from ''WesternAnimation/{{Recess}}''.
* ''WesternAnimation/SamuraiJack'': The Scotsman's Wife. She singlehandedly beats an entire army of demons that both her husband and Jack -- the two most badass warriors ''ever'' -- had trouble fighting. She starts off the fighting by ''[[DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu punching a Celtic demon god in the gut]]'' because said god [[BerserkButton called her fat]]. She's also the only person Jack has ever, without question, [[spoiler:ran away from a fight with]].
** Likewise from the final season, Ashi [[spoiler:after her HeelFaceTurn]]. ''Dear God, Ashi.'' Just watch her jawdropping battle with the Orc Army or her fight against the Dominator for a demonstration.
* ''Franchise/ScoobyDoo'''s Daphne Blake has been changed from her old DamselInDistress image into action-scene multi-skilled in nearly every animated (and live-action) appearance starting since at least 1998, often to the surprise of her friends as a RunningGag.
* ''WesternAnimation/SheRaPrincessOfPower'' has the title character, as well as Huntara, a purple-skinned Grace Jones lookalike who has no powers except a bunch of [[WhereDoesHeGetAllThoseWonderfulToys really cool weapons]], but held her own against She-Ra in a one-on-one fight. Other girls count too. The guys were usually [[DudeInDistress Dudes in Distress]] which is understandable since the show was created as the girl's version of ''[[WesternAnimation/HeManAndTheMastersOfTheUniverse1983 He-Man]]''.
* The tomboyish Dahlia and superpowered Lana of ''WesternAnimation/{{Skyland}}''.
%%* Sliced Ice from ''WesternAnimation/SkysurferStrikeForce''.
* Sally Acorn, ''WesternAnimation/SonicTheHedgehogSatAM''. Also, Bunnie Rabbot. The two are TheLeader and TheBigGuy of their FiveManBand.
* Wendy from ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'' has shown herself to be a fairly decent fighter and is capable of kicking Cartman's ass in "Breast Cancers Show Ever".
* Sandy Cheeks from ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'' before being [[{{Flanderization}} flanderized]] into a GadgeteerGenius.
** Her ancestor, the Dark Knight, was badass enough to survive underwater without a fishbowl helmet.
* ''WesternAnimation/StainesDownDrains'': Mary-Jane tries to be this, but it usually gets her into trouble.
* Shaak Ti, Asajj Ventress (a DarkActionGirl) and even Padme has her moments in ''WesternAnimation/StarWarsCloneWars''.
** Also many female Jedi from ''WesternAnimation/StarWarsTheCloneWars'', most notably Ahsoka Tano. Padme also qualifies in this as well as any other females.
* The Gems from ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse''. They (Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl) are magical warriors who protect humanity with their unique abilities (SuperStrength, VoluntaryShapeshifting, [[MentalPictureProjector Mental Image Projecting]], etc.) and weaponry ({{Power Fist}}s, a whip, and a spear).
* Nova from ''WesternAnimation/SuperRobotMonkeyTeamHyperForceGo'' fits this perfectly. Want proof? Her weapon of choice is a pair of ''Giant fists.''
** [[RobotGirl Jinmay]], [[TheGunslinger Aurora Six]], and [[BadassNormal Alliana]] also deserve a mention here.
* ''WesternAnimation/SuperWish'': Maylin is a Sprinx, a position that's of the highest order of the frosting pixies. She's usually seen battling creatures with the help of Fert the balloon.
* Lt. Felina Feral, the WesternAnimation/SWATKats' FriendOnTheForce and a supreme badass in her own right.
* ''WesternAnimation/SymBionicTitan'':
** Ilana. Primarily when she's in her mecha, Corus, as opposed to hand-to-hand combat.
** Although she never is seen seriously fighting anyone, Kristin practices martial arts and briefly spars with Lance.
** Sarasim Sarasim from "[[Recap/TeenTitansS4E2CyborgTheBarbarian Cyborg The Barbarian]]", the leader of a strong barbarian tribe, is a formidable fighter with or without her armor and it's these aspects that definitely garner Cyborg's interest (although not exclusively the reasons).
* ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama''
** [[Characters/TotalDramaCourtney Courtney]] definitely has Action Girl moments, such as ripping a lamppost off its base and hunting Harold down with it, and wrestling sharks in Total Drama Action.
** [[Characters/TotalDramaHeather Heather]] definitely held her own in the more physical challenges. Though in the first season, she could also qualify for being a DarkActionGirl.
** [[PerkyGoth Gwen]], once ''[[SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome kicked a serial killer in the face]].''
** Leshawna has her moments. And Eva, though [[VasquezAlwaysDies we didn't get much of a change to see it]].
** There's also [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} Izzy]], who gets into fights with a ScaryBlackMan twice her size.
* Sam, Alex, and Clover of ''WesternAnimation/TotallySpies'' are this in spades. Not an episode goes by without these three girls leaping, punching, kicking, summer-salting, and using all kinds of gadgets on the show’s various wacky villains and their {{Mook}}s. Quite a few episodes involve one of them picking up a DistressBall, in which case the other two step up their game until the third one is free. But the trio always wins and saves the day, no matter what.
** Sam often leads the team, displays the best hand-to-hand combat skills and gets kidnapped least. Clover combines this with ActionFashionista. Alex usually serves as the heavy hitter, and is also the most athletic of the three.
* ''Franchise/{{Transformers}}'' has a pretty good record with this, despite females being in the extreme minority.
** ''WesternAnimation/TheTransformers'': The female Autobots, and later, Arcee.
*** ...right up until ''Anime/TransformersHeadmasters'', at which point she became a docile [[MeeknessisWeakness stay-at-home]] ExtremeDoormat.
** ''WesternAnimation/BeastWars'': Airazor and Blackarachnia.
** ''Anime/TransformersEnergon'': Arcee.
** ''Anime/TransformersCybertron'': Override (male in Japan) and Thunderblast.
** ''Film/TransformersFilmSeries'': Mikaela.
** ''WesternAnimation/TransformersAnimated'': Blackarachnia, Strika, [[spoiler:Starscream's female clone]] and [[spoiler:Sari, after she took a level in badass]]. Professor Princess might technically count, although she's more about the gadgets than actual combat. Arcee [[WhatCouldHaveBeen might have been one]], but never got the chance.
** ''WesternAnimation/TransformersPrime'': Arcee gets the chance. And she ''runs'' with it, cutting a swath through [[MechaMooks Vehicons]] and never backing down, she's a seasoned, battle-scarred warrior.
*** Miko the human gets a few action moments, including one episode wherein she gains possession of the Apex Armor.
* Sylvia from ''WesternAnimation/WanderOverYonder''. You do NOT want to be on her bad side.
* Bloom, Stella, Flora, Musa, Tecna, and Aisha from ''WesternAnimation/WinxClub'' form a [[MagicalGirlWarrior Magical]] AmazonBrigade.
** A similar case is Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin from ''{{WesternAnimation/WITCH}}''.
* ''WesternAnimation/WeBareBears'':
** In "Ranger Tabes" the Bears end up becoming friends of Dana Tabes, a boisterous park ranger who DrivesLikeCrazy, kicks serious butt, and [[SeriousBusiness takes every aspect of her job, big or small, seriously]], from picking up litter and clearing out wasp's nests from campsites to wrangling unruly animals.
** The "Icy Nights" episodes introduce Yana, a punk-rock looking Russian lady who works as a barista in an all-night Internet cafe but has a shady, action-packed history with Ice Bear. And she's also [[spoiler: the long-lost daughter of the man who raised Ice Bear into who he is today, which makes sense about their relationship]].
* ''WesternAnimation/ZakStorm'': Cece, the first mate of the 7C's, is very skilled in both martial arts and marksmanship. She often engages in fights and is considered to be one of the best fighters of the 7C's, alongside the titular hero and captain Zak Storm.
* ''WesternAnimation/ZorroTheChronicles'': Ines isn't about to let her brother take all the glory. On more than one occasion, she even dresses up as Zorro herself, managing to handle the whip quite well (though obviously her swordplay isn't as good).
