* in ''Manga/JojosBizarreAdventure'' quite a few characters have unusual hair colours that no one comments on, with the more tame examples of [[AllLovingHero Jonathan]] and [[TheStoic Jotaro]] having dark, blue-tinted hair and then to the likes of [[OurVampiresAreDifferent Kars]] who has deep purple, [[CombatTentacles Kakyoin]] with vibrant red, [[JerkAss Rohan]] with green hair, Otoishi with bright purple and then the likes of [[BadBoss Diavolo]] and [[AbhorrentAdmirer Annasui]] who have long pink hair.

* In ''VisualNovel/UminekoWhenTheyCry'', Bernkastel's blue/[[AdaptationDyeJob purplish]] hair stands out when compared to the rest of the cast introduced up to that point (she ''is'' a magical being: [[spoiler:namely, an amalgamation of all the ''VisualNovel/HigurashiWhenTheyCry}}'''s Rika who didn't survive the GroundhogDayLoop]]). It stretches a bit on the very redheaded Battler and white-haired Kyrie (being Japanese), but at least they are natural hair colors.

**While both Angel teams have a blonde (Ranpha Franboise and Kahlua Marjoram) and a redhead (Forte Stollen and Anise Azeat), they both also have at least one girl with blue hair (Moon's only easily confirmable one is Mint Blancmanche for Chitose Karasuma's is a shade of blue so dark it looks almost black, while Rune has Lily C. Sherbet with a dark blue around that of Pokemon's Dawn and Nano-Nano Pudding's sky blue) and one with pink (Milfeulle Sakuraba and Natsume Izayoi). The others confirmed are green (Vanilla H), orange (Milfeulle's sister Apricot), and purple (Kahlua's other half Tequila).
***Chitose's hair being a very dark shade of blue might be to make up for Takuto 'Tact' Meyers having blue hair.

*** In fact, the only member of Cyrus' villainous group, Team Galactic, not to be connected to this trope is Mars, a redhead. Jupiter's hair is purple, Saturn's is blue, Charon's is somewhere in the blue vicinity (though his age might give him an excuse out of the trope), and even the grunts have teal-ish hair.
** Although he doesn't appear a lot, Butch has green hair. His hair isn't the source of his problems, though, it's people always calling him the wrong name.
** Of all of Ash's rivals, only Paul (purple) qualifies for the trope; the others' hair colors are either brown (Gary most prominent), red (Stephan and Morrison come to mind), black (Alain has to be somewhat close), or blonde (Bianca, who cannot seem to hit the brakes soon enough when charging Ash's way - especially when a body of water is nearby)
*** Paul isn't the only rival with purple hair, for May's rival Harley and Cilan's rival Burgundy have purple hair themselves. May's other main rivals Drew (green) and Solidad (somewhere in the vicinity of pink) also qualify, as do two of Dawn's rivals in Zoey (orange) and Ursula (somewhere in the vicinity of pink)
** All four of Team Flare's female scientists qualify for this trope. Aliana has orange hair, Bryony's is green, Celosia's is purple, and Mable has the trope's namesake blue.

** ''Manga/PokemonDiamondAndPearlAdventure'' has a blue haired primary protagonist Hareta and a green haired secondary one Mitsumi.

** ''Manga/PokemonDiamondAndPearlAdventure'' has a blue haired primary protagonist Hareta and a green haired secondary one Mitsumi.in Mitsumi.
*** Mitsumi's green hair, and the zig-zag ponytail she keeps it in, are the telltale differences between her and Dawn (who she is based on)

** In ''Anime/YuGiOhZexal'', blue hair apparently runs in Shark's family; both he and his sister have it.

* ''Manga/BlueExorcist'' is a strange case. Though there are numerous characters with unusual or even impossible hair colors for a show set in Japan, all these characters either dye them or have demonic ancestry. The only exception being Shiemi who is blonde with seemingly japanese ancestry and [[spoiler: she is hinted to have something special with her family]]

* ''Anime/CorrectorYui'' falls somewhere in between this and implausible. In the anime, Haruna has normal roan red hair, while Yui, being blonde, puts it at least at implausible. The other Correctors have rainbow hair, but they're computer programs. In the manga, though, Haruna has unmistakably purple hair, and in the second season of the anime, purple-haired Ai comes in from the real world.
** [[InternetBackdraft I do, sir. I sure do]]. But changing the subject, in the anime, Ai's hair can pass as black, while in manga, it's dark purple (in the pilots, it's a greyish brown).

* Subverted with Aiko from ''Manga/GoodnightPunpun''. Artwork has shown her with a myriad of different colors ranging from green to red, however her canon color is a mundane brown.

* ''Anime/KillLaKill'', despite its ridiculously over-the-top nature, actually has hair colors that mostly fall into the realm of reality. Some of the exceptions being the grey-blue-haired Mikisugi, pink-haired Nonon, tealish-haired Houka, lilac-haired Rei, green-haired Uzu, and possibly Ryuko and Tsumugu, who both have red stripes in their hair, though the latter of two's could conceivably be a dye-job but, in Ryuko's case, [[spoiler: it's actually a strand of life fibers that sprang from her being half-fused with them shortly after birth.]] Then there's [[TropeCodifier Ragyo Kiryuin]], whose hair is not only [[MulticoloredHair rainbow colored]], but also shines its own light in a way reminiscent of a neon sign.
* Subverted in ''Manga/KoeNoKatchi''. Most official art gives Shouko pinkish red hair, however her canon color is actually dark brown. The artworm is simply stylized. Played straight in the anime film adaptation, as her hair color really is pinkish red.

** Sakura, who has pink hair (and ThemeNaming based upon her hair colour). And it's apparently ''natural'', unless she's going to the trouble of dying her ''eyebrows''. If not for her, it would fit possibly into plausible hair due to the show not being set in Japan (even though everyone ''is'' culturally Japanese). She apparently gets her pink hair from herfather.

** Crystal inverts this trope. She originally had [[http://netkun.com/pockemon/gallery/big_img/gallery01.html brown]] [[http://netkun.com/pockemon/gallery/big_img/gallery03.html hair]], but was [[http://netkun.com/pockemon/gallery/big_img/gallery05.html changed]] to [[http://netkun.com/pockemon/gallery/big_img/gallery07.html blue]] to match her game and anime counterparts. She changed back to brown recently though, which mades people wonder what will happen in the ''Heartgold/Soulsilver'' arc (the game features a brunette femaleprotagonist)... On the cover of an ''Emerald'' volume, her hair was brown, but an image at the end of the saga shows her with dark blue hair. As of ''HGSS'', it stayed dark blue again. But really, either the artist really can't make up his mind or he's trollin' us. Seriously, every time there's a colored shot of her, her hair color changes. Even her first outfit was like this; her jacket would go between white and pink.
** Platinum Berlitz and Diamond both have blue hair, though they're dark blue colours that resemble black.

* The main cast of ''La Corda d'Oro'' contains a ''rainbow'' of unnatural hair colors. Let's see...Kahoko Hino's bright red, Len Tsukimori's blue, Ryoutarou Tsuchiura and Kazuki Hihara's varying shades of green, Azuma Yunoki's purple, Shoko Fuyuumi's bluish-green, Kanazawa-sensei's reddish purple, Shinobu Ousaki's the ''other'' shade of red, and Keiichi Shimizu's blonde. Lili is a subversion, since he's a fairy and it seems that he came with Seisou Academy's founder from Europe anyway.
