* ImprovedSecondAttempt: Ciel's route in the original game is considered to be among the weaker routes, to the point of giving Ciel [[MemeticLoser memetic status]], [[TheWorfEffect from the heroine herself getting constantly bested in combat]], the story feeling like a recycling of Arcueid's route (who has always been much more popular by far) and the [[MoodWhiplash Good End]] being a harem at Ciel's expense. As a result, in the remake, while Arcueid's already popular route remains largely the same, Ciel's route receives major changes and additions despite retaining its overall structure. In Blue Glass Moon, Ciel's route becomes much more focused on over-the-top action, distinguishing itself from Arcueid's, and Ciel herself gets to show off her strength in a way she hadn't been able to before in pretty much every single fight of the route. Almost all the recycling of Arcueid's route is done away with and Ciel has better chemistry with Shiki this time around. The Good End is replaced with a much more tragic but well-written Normal End that is very consistent with the theme and tone of the rest of the route. Overall, though not without its detractors, Ciel's route in the remake is considered to be vastly improved compared to her route in the original game, to the point where many fans of the previously more popular Arcueid's route wish Arcueid could have benefited from similarly ambitious changes and additions.

* OnceOriginalNowCommon: Nrvnqsr Chaos' removal from the remake is partly because Nasu feels like he is suffering from this. Originally he developed him as a way to go against the ClassicalMovieVampire stereotype that was common back in the day. Twenty years later, and "un-vampire vampires" like him have become much more prominent where the classical vampires have become the minority. Vlov was designed to have more of a gothic horror appearance with simple powers to counteract Nrvnqsr Chaos' weirdness.

* {{Woolseyism}}: The term of Mystic Eyes of Death Perception was actually coined to convey the original {{pun}} behind the term in Japanese. Its original literal meaning was "direct death" as a pun on the Japanese phrase for "looking straight at someone". The FanTranslation coined "Death Perception" as a pun on "Depth Perception" to convey the pun about eyes and death, which eventually made its way into official media by way of ''Literature/TheGardenOfSinners'' and ''VideoGame/MeltyBlood''.

* EndingFatigue: Ciel's True End in the Remake. [[spoiler:As awesome as it is for some readers, once the real action begins, it simply does not seem to end. It is three fight scenes back-to-back that span three or four hours depending on your reading speed. ** Vlov Arkhangel, appropriately Nrvnqsr's replacement in the Remake, fits the bill just as well. He is the opposite of his predecessor, being a very aesthetically classical vampire unlike Nrvnqsr's unothordox design and powers. His fights in both routes are incredible action pieces that are arguably two of the more gruelling battles in the game despite his relative youth, allowing both the hero and heroine of their respective routes to showcase their unique strengths. It helps that his hatred for Roa and his implied despair and regret at having killed his predecessor are not yet fully elaborated upon, allowing him some mystique and complexities that readers hope they'll see more of in the future.

** Nrvnqsr "Nero" Chaos is, in the grand scheme of things, [[PlotIrrelevantVillain not that significant]] to the main story of Tsukihime. He is however very memorable among fans for his intimidating presence, his terrifying ability and his [[MadScientist interesting view]]. Many are sad to see he is, so far, not in the Remake save for a mention and a cameo.

** Shiki has had more than a few traumatic experiences in his backstory too. Getting kicked out of his home by his father for having a near lethal injury that made him see death everywhere is only the beginning, and that's not even getting into the more spoilerrific elements of his backstory. Though to give an example of one of those bits, [[spoiler:the opening scene, before the hospital? * MoralEventHorizon: Makihisa Tohno seems to embody this in just about everything he does, despite being a PosthumousCharacter.
** Also from the manga, we get a depiction of what happened to Ciel after she revived from being killed by Arcueid while possessed by Roa. Basically, the Church attempting to 'correct' as what they saw as an unnatural body, had her killed at least ''six hundred times'' including such deaths as by drowning, burning and organ removal, the whole time as she begged them to stop, only quitting when they decided she'd be more useful as a Burial agent. Afterwards, Ciel is shown as completely broken and resigned.

* ItsTheSameSoItSucks: Some readers consider Arcueid's route in the Remake to be this. Unlike Ciel's route, which is generally considered to be [[AuthorsSavingThrow vastly improved]], Arcueid's remains generally faithful to the original, with some changes such as the addition of new characters and the removal of the Good Ending. As a result, despite her route being generally well loved even in the original game, a number of readers feel that it is too simplistic, especially compared to Ciel's route being much more flashy and surprising. Nasu himself wrestled with this, feeling that the story is perhaps too simplistic even with the new additions, but ultimately decided that he wanted to cater to players who [[TheyChangedItNowItSucks wish the story they had always loved remains the same]], and instead use the previously much less popular Ciel's route to escalate things and show what the Remake is capable of.

* AuthorsSavingThrow: Though the original ''Tsukihime'' was and is still considered a CultClassic of the genre, it's pretty hard to argue that some of it has not aged well. One of Nasu's intentions when developing the remake was to rectify these issues.
** Originally the Ciel Route was criticised for feeling far too similar to Arcueid's Route, while the character of Ciel suffered from a combination of {{Flanderisation}} in the setting's later works, and a real problem of seeming to lose every fight in the Route, making her sheer magical talent come off as an InformedAbility. [[spoiler: [[TheAtoner Combined with her intense regret over her actions as Elesia while possessed by Roa]] coming across as somewhat hollow due to a lack of emotional connection with the audience]], it's no wonder that she was among the least popular Heroines, with even Satsuki (whose lack of a route turned her into a punching bag of the franchise) being able to overtake her in polls. The remake proceeded to undo all that, as ''Rainbow of the Night'' is a substantial expansion of the original which diverges wildly from ''Moon Princess'', for example adding in the character of Noel as a sub-heroine [[spoiler: to serve as both a victim of Ciel's aforementioned past as Elesia/Roa to provide emotional resonance for the audience, and to ultimately become the WarmUpBoss before Arcueid, as a monstrous yet at the same time pitiful vampire herself,]] with Ciel getting far better showing action-wise, and the story reaching an unexpectedly high climax, making it serve as a fitting end to the first part of the remake.
** The Chair Scene, as listed under the {{Narm}} section, has been a source of unintentional humour for years, rather than the psychological horror it was meant to be; the remake however, instead of ditching the scene, instead puts in the effort to make it work, using a combination of both the music and trimmed narration to create a far more effective creepy atmosphere, so that readers would take it completely seriously.
** Ciel's Good Ending has always been a bit contentious to fans, partly because [[spoiler: it feels like it's a better ending for Arcueid than for Ciel, whose route it actually was intended to end.]] As such, the remake replaced it with [[DownerEnding a heart-breaking Normal Ending]], where [[spoiler: Ciel sacrifices herself to save Shiki, who'd pushed himself to the brink of death to rid himself of Roa, leaving him alone. With the guidance of Mario, he vows to train to become an Executor and spend his remaining 10 years to find a way to bring Ciel back.]]
** One of the biggest problems with the original visual novel was that Nasu, due to a combination of health issues and a desire to release the pseudo-sequel, [[WhatCouldHaveBeen was never able to write Satsuki's route]]; in a form of SelfDeprecation, this soon became a joke both within the franchise itself and the fandom, but as a consequence, Satsuki started to become a major ButtMonkey. One of the original draws of the remake was the promise that she'd receive a Route of her own, however [[ScheduleSlip after waiting twelve years for the Remake to be released]] as well as the seeming lack of the route in ''-A piece of blue glass moon-'', fans had lost hope, however as a [[HundredPercentCompletion bonus]] for getting all the endings, including the bad ones, a PV was displayed for the remake's second part, ''-The other side of red garden'', featuring shots of Akiha, Hisui and Kohaku, the Heroines for the Far Side part of ''Tsukihime'', and ended with a shot of Satsuki, all but confirming that yes, Sacchin really was getting her own Route. Needless to say, fans were hyped.

* SugarWiki/DevelopmentHeaven: A piece of blue glass moon was scripted almost entirely by one developer who did the massive undertaking of putting together all the [=CGs=], visuals, sprites, and backgrounds for the final product and mastered the timing of coding every graphical image to line up with the script, doing all of this little by little over the course of several years. The visuals themselves drew production out even longer just for the sheer graphical intensity of the art team putting their all into it. It all paid off as the VN is considered to be one of the most gorgeously engaging visual novels currently out there.
