* JerkassWoobie: Rachel (may also be AlternativeCharacterInterpretation): she's been manipulated from the beginning of the story into betraying Baam, and possibly groomed her entire life for this role. Imagine being given a dream when you were just a child, and told it was your only chance for happiness. Now imagine (while still just a child) having that dream cruelly ripped away from you and given to someone else. And being told you're just too ugly, bad, and not special enough to ever realize that dream. spoiler: Also consider that she probably never intended to kill Baam, she was just told she must keep Baam from climbing the tower. And she seems to feel genuinely bad when she is informed of his supposed death

** Some of the FUG members certainly count despite their ruthlessness. Reflejo had his family wiped out and his eyelids sewn together just because he looked at a Zahard princess and Raguel had a horrible childhood because a 10 families member seduced an abandoned her mother.

* CanonSue: Pre-timeskip Baam is sometimes accused of this for various reasons, mostly being a fairly quiet and passive character who nontheless manages to make some very powerful and devoted friends effortlessly and gains a lot more power than would be normal at this stage. This seems to be deliberate, given that he's called out for it by both Rachel and Ho, and it mostly disappears after the timeskip, where he becomes a lot more proactive.

* VillainSue: Rachel can come off as one when you consider that she has, since the very beginning, remained relevant to the story despite having no strength to defend herself, which has somehow allowed her to always have people willing to follow her in order to continue ascending the tower. She has also never suffered any consequences despite the amount of detestable actions she's done over the course of the story so far.

* AndTheFandomRejoiced:
** After the fiasco that was [[spoiler:Bam's reunion with Rachel]], Bam is finally called out on Yandere his extremely selfish and impulsive behavior when it comes to Rachel, which is endangering his real friends which he's been ignoring in favor of his obsession with Rachel, and Bam actually has a MyGodWhatHaveIDone reaction from this, resolving to change his ways. That Khun privately agrees but is too considerate of Bam to point it out, and that Hwa-Ryun was the one who did the calling out was just icing on the cake--fans were practically cheering her on as she finally expressed what a large part of the fanbase had been thinking of Bam's personality for a long time.
** A simple two or three frames, and one single character practically stole the spotlight of Chapter 169, and right at the very end to boot. It can be summed up in one sentence: ' Needless to say, the fans have been waiting for this since the very beginning of Part 3. This chapter in general is considered one of the best in a long time, in fact, so the fandom as a whole was very pleased by it.
