** If Rachel appears in a chapter (and sometimes when she doesn't), the first audience comments you see will probably be ranting against her. Of course, since she's presumably disliked for being deceitful, manipulative and cruel without being [[EvilIsCool cool]], competent or exceptionally cute, this shades into being a HateSink; however, she doesn't clearly fit that trope. Maybe something in between.

Maybe something in between.trope, and the author seems to dislike her less than many do.

** Zahard and his empire bring up more of this than anyone else combined. Is the empire a autocratic [[TheEmpire empire]] state ruled by a [[GodEmperor god]] [[AGodAmI emperor]] or is it just a tough but fair state which give opportunity to all residents of the tower and the disparity we hear about is just the outcome of creating a elite and well group who had a better life than those before and the regular who clime the tower know how good things could be now compared to before Zahard and the ten warrior arrived? Not too mention the fact that many of the abuses of power in the tower are caused by regulars of the ten great families, which rankers have no right to intervene and weather or not zahard himself can move against the families? We know absolutely nothing about him or his way and the group who seems most wronged by the empire is [[ObviouslyEvil F]][[TheDreaded U]][[TheUnfettered G]] who methods are far worse than anything we have seen committed on screen by a member of Zahard's empire and which was founded by one of Zahard's allies when he became emperor before his so called oppression could begin.

* LightIsNotGood: It is becoming increasingly apparent as the story progresses that [[spoiler:FUG might not be entirely in the wrong in their desire to kill Zahard. Zahard, the King of the Tower and created the system by which Regulars can climb the Tower to obtain their greatest desire, does not appear be the Good Guy as we were originally led to believe and actually is the cause of a lot of the death and conflict in the upper echelons of the Rankers. Also, he murdered his crush's baby right in front of her because she didn't reciprocate her feelings for him.]]

* VillainSue: Rachel and her posse are really shaping up to be this. Ever since the end of Season 1, they never suffered any serious setbacks despite the best effort of Koon, Baam and their allies. [[spoiler: She turned the tables on Koon and killed/maimed the teammates that were supposed to keep an eye on her, Cassano gets Horyan's devil arm, they get Emille during the workshop battle with minimal effort, then they get on the hell-train and ally themselves with Hoaqin and they even lure the Wagnan team into an ambush resulting in two casualties.]] So yeah, while they are not omnipotent, they sure as hell wear plot-armor that is way thicker than even the protagonists'.

** When there were chapters that hinted at the possibility of time travel, some were rather quick to appoint that the answer to every mystery and unanswered question in ToG is the older version of Baam after having gone back in time.
