* SacredCow: The block as a whole for a lot of anime (and action cartoon) fans, especially in UsefulNote/TheNewTens, and TOM and SARA, the hosts as well.

Added DiffLines:

* CreatorWorship: Jason [=DeMarco=] and TOM's voice Cretor/SteveBlum get a lot of this from Toonami's fandom, since the block's return. (That being said, the former sometimes doesn't escape [[ScapegoatCreator complaints regarding certain shows on Toonami]].

* {{Narm}}: Oh, man, the ''acting'' in Trapped in Hyperspace's Toonami.com game. TOM maintained his original voice - thank god - but Swayzak unexplainably changed from an EvilSoundsDeep robotic VoiceOfTheLegion to a lisping New Zealand accented human voice. Even the actor was kind of nervous doing the voice!

* PeripheryDemographic: TOM's final farewell closed with a reference to ''Anime/CowboyBebop'' -- a show that had appeared on Creator/AdultSwim, but never Toonami (until the relaunch). The relaunch itself can also fit into this bill. Even though the relaunched Toonami is geared towards a more adult and teenage male audience, that doesn't stop the block having female fans or even fans that are younger than their intended audience, especially kids who sneak downstairs and try to watch Adult Swim.

* AlasPoorScrappy: The same fans who spent the last two years referring to TOM 4 as "[[WesternAnimation/ThomasTheTankEngine Tom-ass the Toonami Engine]]" cried when he left. It was because a simple word ("Bang...") reminded the older audience - the ones who had watched Toonami through all eleven years - that they weren't forgotten. Sure, we thought they had when they started milking ''Naruto'' for all it was worth, (practically) changed hosts, and got rid of all the credible shows and original series. But what Tom said - what ''[[SteveBlum Steven Jay Blum]]'' said - just meant so much more. The fact that 4chan practically broke down during the last hour or so of the final run, overwhelmed with nostalgia and [[TearJerker begging each other to do something to stop Toonami from shutting down]], simply adds to the heartbreak. In short, Toonami with a crappy looking host is still better than no Toonami at all.
** As of ''WesternAnimation/TheIntruderII'', [[spoiler:he's the subject of KilledOffscreen[= / =]BusCrash, as the Intruder gloats about killing TOM 4, and WordOfGod confirms that his fellow crewmembers Flash and D weren't spared after the events of the tie-in comic. Poor guy.]]
*** [[spoiler: Even ''worse'' was that he and his friends were stranded on the moon at the time, all they wanted was to get home, instead TOM 4 spends the last 36 hours of his life running from the Intruder, and just when it things finally looked up... [[ShootTheShaggyDog it's revealed it survived Tom 4's attack.]]]]

* CriticalResearchFailure: In 2000, when Toonami still had a fanart segment, they implicitly said that they would not display artwork of any character that had not yet premiered on a specific show (namely [[Anime/DragonBallZ "NO TRUNKS"]]). However, you could easily see the fact that they '''did''' display fanart of [[Anime/SailorMoon Chibi Chibi]], who not only has never appeared in Toonami's ''Sailor Moon'' airings, but didn't appear in ''any'' airings inside of the United States, outside of fansubs, which some kids apparently watched back then. They may have assumed that since she had pink hair, she must have been existing character Chibi-Usa/Rini.
** Anime fans thinking that Toonami is only for anime while ignoring that Toonami focuses on "action cartoons" and has aired Western stuff for years.

* DorkAge: The TOM 4.0 era was hated by a lot of fans for the [[UncannyValley TOM's]] [[YouDontLookLikeYou redesign]], and for things like the Absolution and [[SpaceshipGirl SARA]] being [[ChuckCunninghamSyndrome dropped without any indication of a reason]]. The general [[ScrewedByTheNetwork screwing]] of multiple shows reducing the block to nothing but reruns and ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'' led many to suspect ExecutiveMeddling, especially given that this happened in 2007, after the [[WesternAnimation/AquaTeenHungerForce Mooninite]] [[UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom bomb scare]] and the resulting management shake-ups at Creator/CartoonNetwork, eventually leading to the channel's NetworkDecay. Then the block [[ScrewedByTheNetwork got taken]] [[{{Cancellation}} off]], and [[AlasPoorScrappy people mourned its passing]], no matter what they'd thought about the {{retool}}... But when Toonami [[{{Uncancelled}} came]] [[NetworkToTheRescue back]], [[CanonDiscontinuity it was with an updated version of the previous, well-liked TOM 3, with the Absolution back in space, and with no mention of the last few years of the original run]]. Until a ShoutOut was made to TOM 4 that insinuated there were multiple TOMS running around.

* GatewaySeries: Entire generations of fans learned about anime in general from the network - without it, the anime boom of the early 2000s would likely have never happened. Itís no surprise because of this that quite a few fans say that the original cancellation of Toonami [[EndOfAnAge marked the end of that anime boom]], and the blockís revival [[HopeSpringsEternal is proof that we are in the middle of another one.]].

* GrowingTheBeard: For the FramingDevice itself, it was ''The Intruder'' miniseries for establishing ''everything'' that makes Toonami unique.
** Toonami's beard first emerged with the acquisition of its two killer app anime; ''Sailor Moon'' and Dragon Ball Z.
** Toonami's relaunch grew its beard when they fully expanded to six hours in length. The beard thickened considerably when it gained One Piece to complete the Naruto-Bleach-One Piece trinity.

** Reviving Toonami also did wonders for the anime portion of [adult swim], previously known as [adult swim] Action. At the time before Toonami made its return, the anime block consisted mainly of ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'' premieres and reruns of older shows, and was netting middling ratings at best. After Toonami came back (and brought with it ''Anime/DeadmanWonderland'' and ''Anime/CasshernSins''), anime as a whole on [adult swim] began improving, airing more premieres, keeping reruns to a minimum, bringing back old shows like ''Manga/OnePiece'' and ''WesternAnimation/SamuraiJack'', and netting some of the best ratings [adult swim] has ever seen. It's culminated in Toonami bringing in big-name titans such as ''LightNovel/SwordArtOnline'', ''Manga/AttackOnTitan'', ''Anime/KillLaKill'', ''Manga/HunterXHunter'', ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamIronBloodedOrphans'', ''Manga/OnePunchMan'', and ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure'', as well as helming brand new seasons of ''Samurai Jack'' and ''Anime/{{FLCL}}''. Not bad for an action-animation block some have said [[ItWillNeverCatchOn would never catch on in the modern era]].
