* AlasPoorScrappy/TakeThatScrappy: Seemingly invoked. The characters Witherspoon and Lamarr were both introduced as intentionally irritating side characters with a lack of common sense, and both die shortly after being introduced. Both times are, however, played for drama.

* {{Squick}}: The Body Function, a gang led by the pus-filled VillainousGlutton Cesspool, consists of the phlegm-spewing Nasal Ned, the {{Fartillery}}-powered Backfire, and [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Belcher]]. Oddly, he didn't recruit the diarrhea-cannon wielding Dung or MenstrualMenace Heavy Flo.

* CrowningMomentOfAwesome: There was understandable backlash from a number of fans during the mostly well recieved Savage World storyline. One fan in particuler went on to write a long, deep letter as to how Larsen had betrayed all his loyal fans for throwing out the regular continuity to do something cliched for the purpose of increasing sales. Larsen responds with an equally disgusted letter bashing the fan for having no free will and being too stubborn to admit he can just stop buying the book, as well as assuming he did it solely for the money. Erik Larsen is now awesome in this tropers books.

* FridgeHorror: At first, Emperor Kurr mowing through every enemy he meets seems just like the writer trying to show us how dangerous he is. Then you realise, that's not the only reason. Dragon was the hero of the book, he overcame almost impossible odds every storyline, as with any good superhero. Emperor Kurr is Dragon. He is overcoming impossible odds, but now he's not trying to save us...

* CompleteMonster:
** Emperor Kurr, the previous identity of Dragon.
** Subverted with the current Overlord. He seems this way at first, murdering his way into the leadership of the Vicious Circle, and even killing Dragon. Even after we learn his goal is to bring Freaks equal rights and not World Domination, his continual murder of rebelling goons and mutating his minions into Dragon clones, he still dosn't seem any better. His defining moment of non-evilness comes when he stands horrified at sending his goons to their deaths.

* FashionVictimVillain: The series has got this in spades. Erik Larsen obviously [[AuthorAppeal loves designing these guys]]. Given the tongue-in-cheek nature of this comic, [[JustifiedTrope it makes sense]], and the costumes fit their [[IncrediblyLamePun silly names]], and the series sometimes lampshades this fact. A lot of them are throwaway baddies, but several members of his RoguesGallery fit this category as well. meet [[http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/1/15776/1080522-hellrazor3.jpg Hellrazor]]. This guy might just be the MostTriumphantExample from this series. He made his first appearance in issue 2 of the mini, and he's one of the longest-running recurring villains of the series, [[ThoseTwoBadGuys as a duo with his partner]] Cutthroat. For that matter, [[http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/1/11352/799391-16.jpg Cutthroat]] qualifies too. To make things even better, Hellrazor keeps that hairstyle even [[http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/1/15776/1080197-hellrazor2.jpg when he's in jail]].
