* ChaoticGood: Simon Templar walks the fine line between here and ChaoticNeutral. His campaign against gangsters, drug dealers, and so forth is based partially on justice for their victims and partially on it being fun and profitable. As for the Chaotic part, at one point the books comment that in Simon's opinion, the law is only really justified in existing by the funny noises it makes when he breaks it (and because it provides him with a seemingly endless string of police officers to annoy).

* HeartwarmingInHindsight: The first season finale "The Charitable Countess" has Simon helping street urchins by stealing jewellery from aristocrats. Many years later, Creator/RogerMoore became a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF.

** In one 1963 episode, Simon (Creator/RogerMoore) impersonates an [=MI-5=] agent. The woman he was tricking even remarked that it was great to have Film/JamesBond on her side. This was ten years before Moore [[Film/LiveAndLetDie made his debut as Bond]].

!![[Film/TheSaint The Film]]
* EndingFatigue: The movie continues a full fifteen minutes after the villains are arrested and the conflict is resolved. One US TV broadcast ended the movie just moments later when Emma and Simon reunite at the country house.
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: The film uses the alias of Leslie Charteris' greatest character. And that is all. (That Charteris's name does not appear on the credits says pretty much everything.)

* CompleteMonster: Tretiak created a heating oil shortage by hiding it in a massive tank beneath his mansion in order to convince the populace that the current government was a failure. Doing so killed quite a number of people. He did it all for power and to raid the treasury.
