* ThatOneBoss: Ikarius and Volkov Liftkannon AC-13.
* ThatOneLevel: Chapter 08, Means of Destruction.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Averted. Acclaim had the game completed already in 2004, but no one wanted to publish it before Acclaim went bankrupt. Three years later, XS Games luckily picked it up.
** It was meant to be released on {{UsefulNotes/Xbox}} as well, and review copies of that version are known to exist, but that version never reached retail.

* BreatherBoss: The Susk Marauder is significantly easier than the level leading up to it.
* CoresAndTurretsBoss: Many bosses take this form.
* GameBreaker: Maya. It's obvious why she needs to be unlocked.
** First, there's her spear - an energy projectile that counts as a melee attack and travels through walls. Many bosses, but especially Ikarius (who otherwise has ThatOneBoss qualities) become downright sad with it.
** Even worse is perhaps the wall. An energy barrier that not only damages enemies that come into contact with it, but also reflects bullets which can damage the attacker. The more bullets there are, the more effective it gets. And the further you get in the game, the more bullets the boss will shoot at you. See where this is going?
