*** Candy Kong acted like a bitch to everyone (especially Donkey Kong) while lacking any of the traits that make the other characters likable. Not to mention [[CreatorsPet appearing constantly even though she rarely does anything important to the plot]].

* TheyJustDidntCare: Often parodied, but also by and far the Annotators' biggest complaint about particular shows. ''Sonic Underground'' got the most accusations of this, being regularly criticized for its inconsistent tone, glaring {{Plot Hole}}s and {{Series Continuity Error}}s, and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking increasingly lazy animation]].
* TrueArtIsAngsty: While they enjoy darker, more continuity-based stories, they '''ruthlessly''' mocked ''Hatred'' and it's trailer for actually believing in this trope, with one annotation flat out calling the game more childish than actual children's material.

** Betty is considered a far better LoveInterest than Veronica, if only because she isn't constantly whining and actually helps Archie out. Annotations frequently wonder how Archie could possibly pick Veronica over her.

** One of the Annotators, Volture, has a username that's pronounced eerily similar to the name of the villain of ''The American Rabbit'', Vultor.

** General Klump of ''WesternAnimation/DonkeyKongCountry'' was initially hated for [[{{Padding}} dragging out episodes]] by talking and being an [[TooDumbToLive idiotic]] GeneralFailure. Season 2 nuanced the character a bit more, emphasized his FriendlyEnemy attributes, and [[TheWoobie made the character more outright pitiable]], which resulted in people being less hostile toward the character.

* HesJustHiding: One annotator made [[spoiler: Karras survive his death and become a television writer]] at the annotator-written epilogues of ''Spectreman'' finale.

** This is case for a lot of annotated scrappies, where mocking a certain character becomes actually fun. Examples include Wayne Gretzky from ''Pro-Stars'', Diddy Kong from ''Donkey Kong Country'' and Tiff from ''Kirby: Right Back At Ya''.

** Reference to ''Donkey Kong Country'' cartoon's "Mirror Never Lies" song is made at one episode of the annotated riff of ''Legend of Zelda'': The Animated Series. The DKC cartoon itself would be annotated in 3 years.
*** On a similar note, the semi-season finale of ''Speed Racer'' references ''Kirby: Right Back At Ya'', a show that would take it's slot when annotators returned from ''Bucky O'Hare'' and ''Spectreman''.

** Given that the series so far consists primarily of animated adaptations of works full of already established characters that are already recognisable, most {{original character}}s get a lot of hate. Exceptions to the rule take the other extreme; see the EnsembleDarkHorse entry above. And a few managed to get themselves RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap; again, see above.

Added DiffLines:

*** Any character voiced by John Stocker, Terry Klassen, Andrew Sabiston or Doug Parker usually gets hate because of them usually sliding to high-pitched annoying voice, the fact [[NeverLiveItDown they voiced most infamous scrappies]] or generally not having a good voice range.
*** Creator/JimCummings, Garry Chalk, Kath Soucie and Creator/FrankWelker aren't really considered to be scrappy voice actors, but their inclusion on material's voice acting cast is usually faced with general apathy due to them being so overused in their era and rarely being the show's saving grace like most of characters voiced by Creator/RichardNewman or Creator/ScottMcNeil.

Added DiffLines:

*** [[FreudWasRight ASCII Penises]] are considered a fossil from a [[OldShame more embarrassing era]] and outside of few annotators they're rarely used by anyone in [=TheAnnotationStation=] era. The CAD section of Five Years Special was even dedicated to mocking them.

* BaseBreaker: The pause annotation. Either a hilarious gimmick that got unfairly cut or an annoying ScrappyMechanic that's gone for a good reason.

* BrokenBase: In the show's early days there was debating over whether they should strictly stick to series adapted from or otherwise related to video games, or include other content as well. Eventually there was a compromise; video games for the main content and "anything goes" for intermissions. However this debate died out after awhile and non-video game series are now regularly featured.

** For a long time, the Annotators jokingly referred to Creator/MilliVanilli as "Silly The Willies". In episode 3 of ''Bucky O'Hare'', the term "Willies" actually gets used by Willy and Al Nagator, causing a chorus of annotations lampshading the coincidence.
