* WTHCastingAgency: SamRiegel as Spider-Man instead of Andrew Garfield, after Tobey Maguire voiced Spidey in the three tie-in games based on the trilogy he starred in. Note that some are noting that Riegel would actually make a rather good Spider-Man, if he wasn't standing in for the star of the movie. There's another camp who questioned why they didn't have fan favorite Spidey voice actor Josh Keaton, or even Drake Bell, reprise the role.

* WhatAnIdiot: Tragically, Uncle Ben shows us exactly why we shouldn't try to take the law into our own hands as we see him run and try to grab the thief's gun when the thief drops it. What you would expect is instead for Uncle Ben to stay clear and alert the authorities seeing that the situation didn't concern him enough to be involved much in any way. Many have pointed out that this minimizes Peter's responsibility in the death, as whereas in other version Uncle Ben is a total victim, here he makes an informed choice that gets him killed.

** Michael Massee's death from stomach cancer in 2016 means the series would have had to do some major restructuring of its ongoing mytharc if it had succeeded past two films.

** Long before he was given the role of Captain Stacy, Denis Leary wrote a book called Why We Suck, which features a side-by-side photo comparison of him and Creator/WillemDafoe, who played Norman Osborn/Green Goblin in Sam Raimi's first Spider-Man film. Leary notes that people think the two look alike (which they do), and comments, "I apologize if every time I hear 'You were great in Film/SpiderMan1, he has to hear 'Why the fuck did you do Film/OperationDumboDrop?'"

** The Wii nor 3DS got the WideOpenSandbox that was on the other versions, and most sources didn't really bother to point out the Wii version didn't have the Sandbox world. Around March, a WiiU version was released with the entire WideOpenSandbox and DLC packs already in the game.

** The nerdy girl who had her banner ruined is this. She flips out on Flash, saying he threw his basketball and knocked over her paint intentionally. Except: 1. It rolled into her paint, which would be a pretty dumb way to go about doing that. 2. It's a banner for his team. And 3. She decided to paint next to an ongoing game of basketball. Sure, he acts like a Jerkass afterwards, but he was just accused of something for no reason.
