* DesignatedHero: Brainard becomes this by the midpoint in the film. He's shown stalking Betsy after she angrily breaks up with him and tells them she does not want to see him again, and then immediately after terrorizes and chases her new boyfriend, getting him to crash his car as a result, while he congratulates himself about it. It's really hard to see him as a heroic character again after that.

* ProtagonistCenteredMorality: Basketball players putting flubber in their shoes to make them jump extra high and win the game? Since the audience is on their side, it's a CrowningMomentOfAwesome. However, if the OpposingSportsTeam did it, it would surely be seen as DickDastardlyStopsToCheat.
