* EnjoyTheStorySkipTheGame: General consensus is that the game is only worth playing for the story and great characterization of everyone.

* AnnoyingVideoGameHelper: Tails feels the need to remind you to save your game ''constantly''. He tells you to save before or after pretty much every major plot development, to point of being a RunningGag. It's clearly done intentionally too, since there's multiple points where you can have Sonic make him shut up.

* TheyJustDidntCare: A lot of people feel this way because Bioware evidently finished development as fast as possible because they finished their contract(s) to Sega. The music got the worst budget cuts: supposedly there was ONE GUY with a MIDI keyboard to make the few original tracks, and padded out whatever he didn't have time for with MIDI versions of music from older ''Sonic'' games; it could also be argued (though fans won't say this now) that this is what pissed off writer Ken Penders the most; his former employer Archie, along with Sega, Sonic Team, Bioware, and Electronic Arts, got nailed for this trope as a direct result of the game's quality.

* AwesomeMusic: Shockingly ''averted'', as the music is almost universally considered one of the game's weak points, [[AwesomeMusic/SonicTheHedgehog especially for a Sonic game]].

* FranchiseOriginalSin: This could be considered the point where Bioware's viability started to ebb. Also a daily double because it riled comic writer Ken Penders to the point where it actually HURT himself, Sega, and Archie, possibly more than ''Sonic '06'' did.

* TheyCopiedItSoItSucks: Penders played this card HARD on Bioware and Archie for using expies of several Archie Sonic characters, destroying his reputation and putting the planned sequel in prolonged DevelopmentHell (which it was already in for the middling reception it got in the marketplace.)
