* JerkassWoobie: Sally Sonic is introduced to the readers as a callous bitch who seduces normal married men into fulfilling their power fantasies and abandoning their wives. Then we find out she used to be a sweet young girl who gained superpowers and immortality and, despite trying to do good, has to watch as everyone she loves die and then get forced into an abusive orphanage because no one will believe she is really in her 20s. Then, when she escapes, she gets used and abused by a hero named Vitaman who succeeds in breaking her and brainwashing her with Doctor Hyde's Evil Serum as part of a convoluted revenge scheme.

Although Sally's past does make her sympathetic to a degree, Bulleteer loses any sympathy she had after Sally tries to kill her, ultimately knocking her unconscious with a car engine.

* Narm: The Anti-Life Equation as revealed in this series is idiotic paseudomathematical gibberish that it's pretty much impossible to believe could drive anybody into abject despair.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: This trope seems to be one of the themes of Grant Morrison's Seven Soldiers. Many interesting characters and ensembles are introduced and then killed, corrupted or deconstructed without really living up to their narrative potential, usually with LampshadeHanging or meta-commentary on the comics industry accompaning it.

** Newsboy Army of Nowhere Street and the Knights of Broken Table go down with their deeds left unsung.

** Newsboy Army of Nowhere Street and the Knights of Broken Table go down with their deeds left unsung.unsung.
** Ironically, this happened to many of the main characters themselves. Then again, Morrison might have expected it...

* ContinuityPorn: Victory references an absurd number of minor characters throughout DC history.
** To give an example: Zor is actually an existing character, appearing in a story from More Fun Comics #55 as a one-shot villain for TheSpectre. But who would know that? Unless you're a DoctorFate fan - that issue was his first appearance. If you're curious about what happened, Zor saves some criminals from the Spectre, he introduces himself as a spirit that goes around causing evil, they fight, Spectre finds he can't win because Zor is older than him (this is before certain retcons), Zor disguises himself as the Spectre's human identity and kidnaps his girlfriend, Spectre asks for help from God, Spectre arrives at Zor's castle, gets paralyzed by Zor's paralysis ray, and finally tricks Zor into getting paralyzed himself.
