** The NicoNico subtitles (which use the same script on [=CrunchyRoll=] and Hulu) use some drama-breaking translation choices. For example, in Act 3 Jadeite's cry of "''[[UsefulNotes/JapanesePronouns Onore!]]''" as he's engulfed in flames is translated as "Rascal!"

* WinBackTheCrowd: Season 3 saw a number of changes to the show as it moved from a web series to airing on television (and presumably gained an increased budget in the process). Most notably, the art style was changed and the ConspicuousCG transformation sequences done away with in what may well be a purposeful attempt at addressing fan dissatisfaction with those elements. It seems to be working; fan response to the season's first episode has been positive.

* TheyChangedItNowItSucks:TheyChangedItNowItSucks: Nostalgia for the [[Anime/SailorMoon original anime]] drives many of the complaints, especially amongst people unfamiliar with the manga and even more so among English speaking fans whose familiarity with the franchise comes from the Creator/DiC dub. On the flip side, for some vocal fans of the manga, any divergence from its text is a point of contention. Specific items of complaint range from the inclusion of confirmation that [[spoiler:the Senshi and Shitennou were romantically involved in their past lives]] to minor details like the absence of certain jokes and gags.

* SpecialEffectFailure:
** The ConspicuousCG is ''atrocious''. It's removal in season three was a universally praised choice.
** [[UncannyValley Chibi-Usa's design]] for ''Crystal'', which makes her face much more older while [[{{Squick}} still running around in a toddler's body]]. This was rectified for the "Death Busters Arc", especially since Akira Takahashi, who did the character designs for ''Anime/SuitePrettyCure'' and ''Anime/DokiDokiPrecure'', took over.

** Some people feel the new anime has rushed pacing.

to:

** Some people feel the new anime has first two arcs have rushed pacing.

** Some people are complaining that the OP isn't "Moonlight Densetsu." This may partly stem from the initial assumption (mistakenly spread by some fansites) that Music/MomoiroCloverZ's popular CoverVersion, which ended up being the ThemeSong for the {{Takarazuka}} {{Revival}} of the ''[[Theatre/SeraMyu musicals]]'', was to be used for ''Crystal.''

Added DiffLines:

* UncannyValley:
** The art style for the first two arcs ''tries'' to be TruerToTheText to the original manga art... and fails spectacularly by being cold and lifeless, ''especially'' when [[SpecialEffectsFailure in]] [[ConspicuousCGI CGI]]. The worst offender is Chibi-Usa's design, detailed above in SpecialEffectsFailure and {{Squick}}.

** The final episode has Usagi spend a good quarter of it in tears. It's emotionally moving the first time she does it, but the next four/five times ends up making you just want to plug your ears or hit mute!

** The titles that [[spoiler: the Shitennou]] possessed when they were [[spoiler: Prince Endymion's PraetorianGuard]] sounded a liiiiiittle bit silly.
** The synchronized falling to the ground and wailing of Mercury, Venus, Mars and Jupiter after [[spoiler:Metalia kills the four kings]] comes across as quite the opposite of what was intended.

** Mistress 9's distorted eyes and facial expressions as Hotaru fights her from within were no doubt intended as BodyHorror, but while some fans find it creepy, to others it's so over the top as to be ridiculous. The fact the episode featured the worst OffModel sequences ever seen in the season didn't help either.
*** In the same episode, Tuxedo Mask comes flying dramatically in! --wrapped up in his cape like a Tuxedo Burrito.
** The first third of the third season's third ending features Tuxedo Mask posing dramatically, slowly raising his cape, and dancing away--twice. It looks so artificial it's ridiculous. The rest of the sequence is properly sexy, though.
