Added DiffLines:

* ThatOneBoss: Shinjiro's first encounter. He moves and attacks very quickly and deals a lot of damage if one doesn't use the Tiger efficiently.

* GameBreakingBug: As pointed out in [[http://videogamegeek.com/thread/630889/plight-of-the-kusagari this review]], some copies of the game have bugs that can wipe out save data and require you to reset the chapter, wiping out an hour or more of progress.

Added DiffLines:

* AnticlimaxBoss: The final fight in your rematch with Shinjiro is really easy. You can perform the Tiger on him and kill him with a few shots from your upgraded rifle.

Added DiffLines:

* GameBreaker: The Tiger. This even works on bosses, making the difficulty drop like a rock for the whole game.

Added DiffLines:

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: It's clear they were trying to do more with the plot, but it feels really barebones for the most part. [[spoiler:Not only do you never find out why you were banished from your clan, but the characters are mostly flat and what little exposition there is doesn't really do much for the story.]]

* SurprisinglyImprovedSequel:The sequel is a paragon of this trope. By throwing out everything from last game, and building it from the ground up for the Motion+, and by not rushing it this time, the sequel has turned this series from utter crap into a great example of Wii games done right.
* EvenBetterSequel: The first RedSteel was awesome, almost everything a Wii FPS should be, though not nearly as good as say, TheConduit, it was still a very decent game with a better two-player system than a lot of games. It was left to rot by bad reviews given by people by people who thought the controls would be different than they were, but didn't complain when every subsequent FPS used the same controls, and helped to it's tomb of Undeserved Mediocrity by gamers [[ComplainingAboutShowsYouDontWatch complaining about games they've never played.]] At the same time, there can be no denial that the sequel was far better, especially with the more colorful, exciting environments and protagonist and MUCH more extensive use of swordplay, which in the first game was regulated to certain bosses and minibosses.

** "Those bandits are robbing our banks! They're carrying off all our gold!" Apparently, there was so much of it, they stuck them in boxes around the town.
