** Several of the gym leaders, but Erika as a pot head takes the cake.
** N in White: Hard Mode is [[AdaptationalVillainy much worse]] than {{Canon}}; he's willing to ''kill'' Pokemon just to lecture their owners about how "this wouldn't have happened if you hadn't caught them!"
*** Speaking of, [[StrawmanHasAPoint with the message Team Plasma spreads in]] VideoGame/PokemonBlackAndWhite, interpretations go from them being a group of {{well intentioned extremist}}s, {{straw hypocrite}}s, {{anti villain}}s, or a mix of the three. How they interpret N is a whole different story.
** Also in White: Hard Mode, Cheren and Bianca being creepy {{psychopathic manchild}}ren who stalked and hounded Hilbert so badly that he ''[[DrivenToSuicide hung himself]]'' just to get away from them--and their reaction to seeing this is simply mild disappointment (with the mildly unsettling implication that this has happened before).

** [[UltimateLifeForm Mewtwo]] goes the exact [[AdaptationalVillainy opposite direction]] of how most fanworks, Nuzlocke or otherwise, portray him. In the games, Mewtwo had very little personality, but the 'dex and most hints from its backstory portray it as an easily angered BloodKnight that takes no greater joy in anything but fighting. The anime popularized a more tragic portrayal of the character, a broken creature that sees itself as an abomination and bitterly hates humanity for making it that way, whilst simultaneously having a cold calculating mind. "Fire Red: Hard Mode" portrays a horrifying merger of the two characterizations, with a highly intelligent and manipulative Mewtwo who not only bitterly hates humanity, but also wants to ''destroy'' them, and displays a sadistic love of killing both humans and Pokemon alike.

* WordOfGay: Lampshaded by Ky-Nim who admits that the reveal would never have happened in the comics because it wasn't essential to the plot; according to [[http://mythsofunova.tumblr.com/post/167886957973/an-important-chart-for-my-nuzcomic-some-of-this this]] post, Drayden and Grimsley are gay, Nina, Cheren and N are bisexual and Cynthia and Bianca are lesbians (though Bianca was previously claimed to be {{Asexual}}).

** Jasper the Joltik, who helps out N in Chargestone Cave, was a smash hit despite him being a one-point character. Apparently, his design and mannerisms reminded the readers of [[BravestWarriors Catbug]] so much that even the author [[http://ky-nim.deviantart.com/art/Nuzlocke-White-Extra-Comic-22-361793480 acknowledges this.]]

** White: Asha, Ghetsis' Hydreigon. He's got a feminine sounding name and is rarely referred to by any pronouns. For the longest time, the only confirmation that he was male was WordOfGod. Part 4 of the battle with Ghetsis repeatedly refers to him by male pronouns, as if to finally drive the point home that this is a male Hydreigon.

He finally set the record [[{{Pun}} straight]] in a Q&A comic when someone asked if he was a boy or a girl, to which he responded "I have a dick and I like dick."

** Nina leaps in to save Laila from Asha's Fire Blast, only to get burned in the process. Even worse, Laila reveals that she was facing him because she knew the attack would miss (due to having gaps in it--and she's right, if you look at her position and that of the Fire Blast, you'll see that, possible convection aside, she could easily have dodged the attack by ducking) and was planning to put Asha to sleep, meaning that Nina didn't have to do that at all.
** Despite it being an awesome moment on his part, [[spoiler:Zach killing Asha by chopping off all three of his heads in quick succession is kind of shocking--especially since this is likely the first time Zach (or ANYONE on Nina's team) has actually killed someone on purpose]].
** [[spoiler:Nina collapsing from exhaustion at the end.]]

** [[spoiler:Rex]] and [[spoiler:Andy]]'s deaths at the hands of Ghetsis' Hydreigon. First, [[spoiler:Rex slices one of the thing's heads off, only for said head to grow back in true Hydra fashion. Hydreigon promptly fires a Focus Blast at Rex so powerful that it ''blasts a hole into his stomach''. Andy tries to fight back and is promptly reduced to a charred, unrecognizable corpse via Fire Blast--which the Hydreigon promptly ''crushes under its foot'' with a crazed look in its eye]]. We then get the results of Skyla's fiancee's vision...

* ProtagonistCenteredMorality: Kit and his Pokemons slaughter countless of Pokemons during each run without a second thought and don't care about it at all. (And it's explicitly shown that these Pokemons die.) However, the death of a member of the team will be treated as an appropriately tragic moment.

* ProtagonistCenteredMorality: In runs where the "fainted = dead rule" applies to everyone, meaning that the main character kills the Pokemon of his/her opponents. The death of a member of the team will be treated as an appropriately tragic moment... However, the characters will conveniently forget all the Pokemon they have themselves killed in the course of the story.
** Becomes a DefiedTrope in runs where this only applies to the player. Some other runs go out of their way to justify or explain it, with varying degrees of success.
