** With a PublicDomainSoundtrack featuring music from [[LudwigVanBeethoven Beethoven]] to [[MauriceRavel Ravel]], that is performed by the RealLife Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, this trope is a given for fans of classical music. Notable performances include the concerts of the in-universe [[RagTagBunchOfMisfits S-Orchestra/Rising Star Orchestra]] from Season 1, and any pieces played by Chiaki or Nodame ([[BrilliantButLazy when she is properly motivated]]).

** Nodame and Saiko have an... interesting encounter in a karaoke-bar where Nodame crashes into Saiko's chest and comments on how pretty shie is. It's rather short-lived though, since Nodame is very drunk and Saiko clearly not interested.

** The resolution of Rui's storyline in the Finale anime due to the time constraints.
** The live-action with some minor (and even semi-important) plotlines in the special episodes and movies; for example Tanya and Kuroki's attraction never goes anywhere despite the ShipTease, and Rui's own issues are never explored even after her mother slaps her and drags her away from Chiaki and Nodame in the first movie.

** The resolution of Rui's storyline in the Finale anime went mostly unexplained due to the time constraints.
** The live-action with some doesn't resolve nor explain minor (and even semi-important) plotlines in the special episodes and movies; for example Tanya and Kuroki's attraction never goes anywhere despite the ShipTease, ShipTease [[spoiler:and the two becoming official in the anime/manga]], and Rui's own issues are never explored even after her mother slaps her and drags her away from Chiaki and Nodame in the first movie.

* DudeNotFunny:
** Chiaki frequently uses physical violence against Nodame, PlayedForLaughs in the manner of a BokeAndTsukkomiRoutine. In the live-action version especially, however, it can come across as less slapstick and a bit more disturbing for some (ironically for most of the same people it's a DoubleStandard since they'll give a pass to female {{tsundere}}s who do the exact same thing to male anime characters who act like Nodame for RuleOfFunny, and they're often fine with others hitting her for RuleOfFunny such as Masumi hitting her [[BerserkButton for touching his instruments]]).
** In one Paris-Hen episode, Nodame ''herself'' [[{{Yandere}} becomes extremely violent against Chiaki]], going as far as kick him in the head. It's supposed to be partly PlayedForLaughs and partly PlayedForDrama, but it's hard to be sympathetic with her at that point.

* GratuitousSpecialEffects: In the live-action series, especially for comedic effect such as when Nodame is sent flying.

A little more acceptable since Japanese live-action comedies are more willing to use special effects for the sake of slapstick and bizarre scenes.

** Which is an interesting study in DoubleStandard since female {{tsundere}}s doing the exact same thing to male anime characters who act like Nodame for RuleOfFunny are given a pass.
** In one Paris-Hen episode, Nodame even ''admits'' to playing up the BokeAndTsukkomiRoutine simply because Chiaki's such a ''perfect'' StraightMan. Chiaki, needless to say, is not amused by this revelation.
** In one Paris-Hen episode, Nodame ''herself'' [[{{Yandere}} becomes extremely violent against Chiaki]], going as far as kick him in the head.
** He's not the only one who lays the smackdown on Nodame, however. Masami once hit her [[BerserkButton for touching his instruments]], and [[ButtMonkey in the same episode]] Saiko mistook a drunk Nodame for a pervert and gave her an epic bitchslap to the face. Both are PlayedForLaughs.

** Also of note are the anime OP and ED themes. In particular, the first OP [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZZAd3BVHV4 'Allegro Cantabile' by SUEMITSU & THE SUEMITH]] comprises lyrics of which are about the joys devoting one's life to playing music. Also the first ED theme [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZxggflHeRw 'Konna ni Chikaku de...' by Crystal Kay]] is beautiful. If there were a theme song for the tropes CannotSpitItOut, and AllLoveIsUnrequited, it would be this.

* CrowningMusicOfAwesome: Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" will never be the same again.

*** The DomesticAbuse trope had an entry about this, which ''dripped'' with Chiaki hate as well as [[PossessionSue Nodame Sue-fication]]. Phew, thank God it went away.

* CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming: So, so many, but the hug from the back at the end of the first anime and live action really takes the cake.
** Another notable moment is when Chiaki crawls into Nodame's room sincerely apologizing that he missed her recital...and Nodame accepts it as he drifts to sleep on her lap drunk.
