** If that wasn't bad enough, him saving J.T. James' life, just to let him go so that he will fall to his death minutes later, then simply telling Daisy (J.T.'s girlfriend and the closest thing that Fury had to a daughter) that J.T. didn't make it, and completely forgetting to tell her that Fury himself killed him, is definitely one.

* MartyStu: DependingOnTheWriter Nick Fury (616/Ultimate/Mass Media/Whichever version) can be written in the same as vein as Batman, where he's the end all to everything and everyone will love him no matter what he does.

*** This has heated even more up by ''ComicBook/OriginalSin'' [[spoiler: killing off Dum Dum Dugan after retconning that he's been a series of LMDs all this time that merely ''think'' they've been taking the same immortality drugs that Fury has kept around because of some desperate need to keep his buddy around, as well as ending with Fury trapped on the moon as the Watcher's replacement.]]

** What he did to revive [[spoiler: deceased SHIELD agent Phil Coulson]] in ''Series/AgentsOfSHIELD'' is considered this by some. The full circumstances aren't exactly clear, but [[spoiler: it ended with Fury siphoning some kind of drug out of a decomposing alien corpse.]]
*** Though that could be considered a CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming. Since he did so because he completely trusts Phil, which coming from Nick Fury is aying A LOT. And considering what SHIELD really was, it falls under a combination of IDidWhatIhadtoDo and ProperlyParanoid.

* MemeticBadass - One splash page of a shirtless Nick Fury crashing his rocket-powered bike through a wall while firing his GunsAkimbo is regarded as one of the most awesome things ever.

* BrokenBase: Which Nick Fury, Classic or Ultimate, should be considered ''the'' Nick Fury. This has been a massive debate ever since the Ultimate likeness has supplanted classic in just about every media adaptation. The fact that Nick Fury Jr. was created as a 616 counterpart heated up the debate even more.
