Added DiffLines:

* DarknessInducedAudienceApathy: The show has plenty of funny and sweet moments, but it does ''not'' sugar-coat the difficulty of treating Diana's illness, nor the toll that it's taking on her family. The BittersweetEnding might not be enough for some audience members who keep waiting for ''something'' positive to happen for the Goodmans.

* InformedAbility: We are told Natalie is a genius, yet she is shown struggling with schoolwork and piano, which people in real life have been able to manage without any problem. Although this may be a result of her having to deal with a dysfunctional family, in any case, as far as we can tell, she doesn't seem to have any abilities that seem Yale-worthy.

** Also inverted, as it won the Pulitzer despite not being nominated. There was signifigant blowback for not only spurning the nominees, but for choosing a Broadway show over lesser-known plays.

*** Is it "Natalie to..." or "Natalie, too" though? On the album it sounds like she means the latter.

** Although, it is said that she's 16 years old and talking about going to Yale in May if her recital goes well. She would have to be a senior, which would would make her 17, so maybe she is that smart that she skipped a grade and can stay on top of a senior course load.

** But in "Make Up Your Mind," she says "We had Natalie to... and I ''know'' she knows..." That sounds like they tried to conceive a new child, not that they opted to continue a pregnancy through a very painful time.
