** The ''order'' in which the names are listed is important too. Whoever is listed first is the initiator or "aggressor" of the relationship, while the listing of [=XxYxX=] (as in [=1xRx1=]) means both partners are equally interested. Certain listings indicate shifts in personalities; for example, 2x1 means a moody Duo with a happy Heero. [[MST3KMantra Don't think about it too hard]] [[AustinPowers or you'll go cross-eyed]].

** ''Frozen Teardrop'' is this if not outright FanonDiscontinuity.

** ''Frozen Teardrop'' is this if not outright FanonDiscontinuity. Some fans love it for being [[MindScrew hilarious nonsense]], and don't really see it as being all that different from [[NarmCharm what the original show was.]] Other fans think it goes too far into bizarro territory.

Added DiffLines:

* DarknessInducedAudienceApathy: Gundam Wing is a pretty serious show to begin with and it gets even darker as the series progresses, with very little comedy or lightheartedness. Quatre and Duo of the main cast manage to balance things out a little since they're not as dark as the rest of their comrades but even they can only do so much in a war story filled with death and destruction.

* AmericansHateTingle: Fan opinion of Relena is [[BrokenBase split in America]], while in Japan, she would often appear on the ''Gundam Ace'' "Top 30 Females" monthly ranking, and she is the only female ''Gundam Wing'' character (so far) to appear on the list, not to mention ranking #21 on ''Newtype'''s list of Top 30 Female Characters of the 1990s, as well as spawning many [[FountainOfExpies close copies]] (and not just in Gundam either).

** ''Gundam Wing G Unit'': This SpinOff novel brings us Dr. Berg, a {{mad scientist}} suffering from a terminal case of ChronicBackstabbingDisorder. He is willing to betray and murder in order to complete his research and create the most powerful Gundams ever, as he takes pride and joy in inventing newer and newer ways for humans to kill each other. He has no regard at all for human lives and only considers people as [[ForScience guinea pigs for him to toy with]]. It is also revealed later on that he arranged for the death of Dr. Burnett and his wife, the parents of series protagonists Odin and Odel, in order to divert fundings from their research to his own weapon manufacturing; this sends Odel, who is normally TheStoic, into an UnstoppableRage and drives him to kill Berg. Unfortunately, Berg initiates a SuicidalCosmicTemperTantrum and activates his Grand Shirio's doomsday program to [[ColonyDrop destroy the colonies and drop itself on Earth to pollute it with its nuclear engines]].

* {{Woolseyism}}: In an early episode, Duo refers to Relena as "Ojou-san", which is the proper way to address a young woman of high social status (though he may have just been flirting). In the US dub, he instead calls her "good-looking", which is more obvious flirting and gets around the fact that there's no English term that quite matches the original.

** Quatre was briefly turned [[BrainwashedAndCrazy driven insane]] by the ZERO and went on a berserk rampage that nearly killed Trowa. Granted, most of the damage was limited to an evacuated colony, and Quatre was suffering from grief over the death of his father and betrayal by his colony. Still many in both the fandom and in-universe characters like Catherine can't forget about his decision even after he successfully atoned.

*LauncherOfAThousandShips: The fans seemed to have a thing for Hilde. In fanfiction, she was often portrayed as being [[HeadTiltinglyKinky so kinky and desireable]], that all the Gundam pilots (including Zechs) [[LustObject wanted to bang her.]] The now defunct ''"[=DxH=] Addiction"'' was an entire archive dedicated to such stories, with half its lemon section being reserved for [[CoitusEnsues her sexual escapades with Duo]] and the other was for stories about her either [[AllWomenAreLustful seducing the other pilots]], or being seduced ''[[ReallyGetsAround by them]]''.
