** Cookie 4IS wasn't received well by western readers due to her personality, and the fact that Cookie 4 herself, who is one of the popular versions of Cookie, doesn't get an option as a love interest, nor allowing a split in 4IS' route.
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: In Umeko's route, after she and Yamato have a conversation and she's left, Koyuki shows up for some reason, says "Yay yay!" and...leaves. Maybe she just really wanted to cameo?
* CrazyAwesome: Momoyo. She pulls out NewPowersAsThePlotDemands, but manages to make both of these tropes work because of how hilariously one-sided her fights are and how silly the powers she pulls out are, including a self-destruct attack which has its side effects negated by a HealingFactor.
* CriticalResearchFailure: Chris talking proudly about how her great-grandfather fought ''for the just cause in the battle of Stalingrad'' shows how little the authors know and understand about European history. Then again, she does seem to be stunningly ignorant about many aspects of her own country's history.

** Gen was surprisingly one of the most popular characters from the original game, which led to him becoming a member of the Kazama Family in the later versions.
** There was a popularity poll in summer 2014 that finished at the end of August. Only three of the original heroines placed in the top ten with the highest being Wanko in fifth. Another popularity vote took place in late January 2017 and ended in Febuary 12th.
*** Margit placed first in the summer 2014 character poll despite being only a supporting character with a short route. Her route in ''Append'' also bumped her to first in the character popularity poll again.
*** Lee, a character that barely even had a name in the original, managed to reach sixth place with barely a hundred votes separating her from beating every original heroine.
*** Benkei made it to fourth place, giving her triple the votes of her boss, who only made it into the top twenty. She makes it third in the top twenty in the 2017 popularity votes.
*** Perhaps most strangely of all, minor PunchClockVillain Rinchuu managed to secure third place with nearly twice the votes of Benkei.
** ''Ageha Kuki''. If there's one woman who hasn't have a route, it's her. Nearly every fan wanted her to have her own route, and she's (so far) is the only woman who does not have one, but her sister Monshiro does.
** Lisa Brinker, a member of Margit's Hound unit, is gaining attention thanks to Minato-soft's website showing who will appear in Margit's Afterstory route. Since then, fans wanted her to have her own route. In fact, most of her info was translated in Wiki/TheOtherWiki while the others have yet have theirs. Plus she already became popular ''before the game even came out''. Currently unknown if she'll gain her own route. A lesser degree occurs with the rest of the team however, with the exceptions of Segrun and Thelma. She makes it the 18th place within the poll while Segrun takes the 21st place.
** Thelma herself manages to beat Lisa and Segrun for the 9th place, whereas her own boss is the first place.
** Sheila, a minor character introduced to act as Stacy's rival for A-3, apparently proved quite popular and managed to net her own ending in A-5's Takae route and has a supporting role in the other routes as well.
** Cookie ''4''. Cookie went from a simple RobotBuddy to a gorgeous RobotGirl all thanks to ''S''. And now fans ''really'' want her to have her own route instead of having a shared one with Cookie 4IS.
** Aki became this after appearing in A5 in Yoshitsune's route. So much that she is currently being voted high in the 2017 popularity poll and already has merchandise. The fact that that she was received so well means a route for her is likely to happen. She secures 2nd place in the poll.
** In the male's side of the poll, ''Shakadou'' of all people managed to beat both Cap and The Prime Minister for the 5th place.
** Yoichi manages to take 4th place in the poll while Gen and Jun take 3rd and 2nd respectively.
* EvenBetterSequel: ''A5'' is this to ''A4'', considering ''A5'' has more endings with three heroines. Bushou, an ''A4'' girl, was popular enough to get her own short route in the ''A+'' fandisc in the package version to alleviate this.
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: You'd be hard-pressed to know that the ''German heroines'' would be the reason why fans would want to pick up A5 just to play Margit's Afterstory. Lisa and Segrun being the two making the top 30 in the popularity poll, meanwhile Thelma gets a mini-route in ''A+'' fandisc.
* HoYay: Yamato and Cap's close friendship coupled with Capt's lack of interest in girls leads to this and is {{Lampshaded}} relentlessly.
** At the end of Monshiro's route, Miyako, Momoyo and ''Capt'' all declare their love for Yamato and acknowledge Monshiro as a rival. Capt clearly doesn't get what definition of "love" they're using.
** Gakuto and Moro apparently give Miyako BL vibes. The fact that Gakuto finds Moro cute as a girl doesn't make it any better.
** Touma intentionally invokes this with Yamato to make him uncomfortable. And because he's genuinely interested.
* IncestSubtext: Yamato and his mother, Saki, are...very close. She's ''really'' eager to have a bath with him in Benkei's route in ''A1'', which the player can agree to. During said bath, she'll also make comments about how much he's grown downstairs. That's definitely not what a mother should be saying to her son...
* JerkassWoobie: Kokoro. In her route, it's revealed that she's actually a very lonely person, not even having any real friends in Class S. Yamato helps her make friends with Mayucchi and Iyo, but she still turns other people away from her with her terrible attitude. Things get worse for her when she fails an exam and ends up demoted to Class F. Since she's done nothing but insult them up until then, the class instantly shuns her and treats her as an outcast. While you could definitely say she brought it on herself, it's hard not to feel sorry for her.
* LesYay: It would be easier to list the characters who ''don't'' have this sort of relationship with at least one other character. To name just one, Momoyo flirts with girls far more frequently than she does with guys.
** The Big Sister types in general tend to be pretty openly bisexual.
* {{Moe}}: Each girl to a certain degree can be adorable. [[GenkiGirl Kazuko]], [[YamatoNadeshiko Mayucchi]] and [[OppositeSexClone Yoshitsune]] tend to do this extremely well.
** Even Yamato's hermit crabs have the [[https://onewdesign.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/majikoi-3-hermit-crabs.jpg "moe eyes"]]. Though, that's probably just how he sees them.
* MorePopularSpinoff: The ''A'' fandisk games are this, with A1, A3, and A5 being the popular among them.
** Weirdly enough, ''Shakadou-san no Jun'ai Road'' became this in the eyes of the fans who wanted a sequel. For a game where a middle-aged man spends time with a teenager who is half his age (which is somehow not {{Squick}}y) and voiced by Creator/KanaHanazawa, this is rather impressive.
* {{Narm}}: The translation for ''S'' gets a little...strange in some routes:
** For some reason, each of the Kuki siblings begin to refer themselves as "We" and "Us" for no reason
** Yamato's penis is refered to as his "Johnny" several times.
** He also has some very juvenile comments about Koyuki's assets, saying she "Knows how to shake what her mama gave her" and points out that he "Boldly felt up them titties" in her route. Yes, he actually said that.
* NightmareFuel: In the VisualNovel, at least one fight scene with Momoyo emphasizes the violence with FMV shots of breaking bones in X-ray views.
** There's also Miyako's death glare in the visual novel... *shudders*
** The "Future with Hermit Crabs" route in ''S''. It's supposed to be funny, but the fact that Yamato's pretty much lost his mind and becomes ''sexually aroused'' at the sight of his hermit crabs (and even masturbates over them) is just very, '''''very''''' disturbing.
** Tatsuko's rage. She goes from being a friendly, lazy girl with a slighty annoying voice, to something that's more akin to a rampaging monster screaming like the spawn of Satan than anything else. What's even scarier? ''Momoyo'' is intimidated by her! Let that sink in. God knows what would've happened to Yamato if she found him...

** Koyuki is already creepy enough in the visual novel, but the manga makes her downright sinister. She has some very harsh words towards Wanko and, during their fight, she makes a [[http://www.mangareader.net/maji-de-watashi-ni-koi-shinasai/14/24 rather disturbing face.]] It's taken even further during the Kawakami War where she easily destroys a rampaging Kuma. It's fair to say that she's basically a force of nature by that point.
