** Fran, Enrique's son, was very disliked by the fans after season 3.
** Reyes from season 5 was so disliked that she didn't make it into Season 6 despite her actress wanting to.
** Clarita, Yoli's cousin, seems to have been written as a new take for a weird recurring character, not unlike how Violeta Recio was in the earlier seasons. However, she has next to no redeeming qualities to balance out the weirdness. She is just mean to everyone she has contact with. On top of that, as time goes by, her character contributes nothing to the show. The whole reason she is part of the recurring cast in season 11 is to give Amador trouble by having something to hide, the one problem his new and very-understanding girlfriend Barbara could not deal with: [[spoiler:Amador got Clarita pregnant]]. Season 11 finale deals with [[spoiler:Amador's wedding getting ruined because Clarita tells Barbara about the pregnancy]]. Which would make it seem a big deal. And yet, it is not mentioned again until the end of the third episode of the next season, and it is quickly revealed [[spoiler:Amador isn't even the father of Clarita's new born daughter]].

who consider him an annoying teenage stereotype and extremely unsympathetic because of the way he treats his father Enrique. The performance of Eduardo Garcia, who is considered by many fans to be inexpressive, doesn't help.
** Reyes from season 5 is considered an offensive stereotype of a lesbian character with an unpleasant personality who fights with everyone over everything. The character was so disliked that she didn't make it into Season 6 never returned despite her actress wanting to.

Added DiffLines:

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: Many fans think that Cristina was a fun character mainly because of Creator/MalenaAlterio's enormous comedic talent. However, many fans think that most of the storylines she had in her short presence on the series, involving her bad luck in love, were mere less inspired recycling of the storylines of her character in ''Aqui no hay quien viva'', Belen. When Alterio decided to leave the series after the first season, many fans argued that she wouldn't have done that and the writers would have come up with better plots for her. It doesn't help that the second season introduces Nines, a character with a backstory and personality that resembles several aspects of Cristina.

** Agustin, introduced as a guest character in season 11 and promoted to main cast in season 12. His main trait is his SplitPersonality, which comes off as gimmicky at best and annoying at worst. It is particularly jarring in the last episode of season 12 in which [[spoiler:everyone is trapped in Antonio's bunker]] and absolutely nobody interacts with his new personality each time he talks.

* TooBleakStoppedCaring: The biggest complaint against the series. Over the years, all of the main characters suffered {{Flanderization}} and became horrible, unsympathetic human beings. While some feel that the biggest source of humor is seeing characters punished for the wrongful acts they commit, others feel that it has reached a point where they no longer feel any sympathy for them.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Maite constantly accuses Amador of having been a terrible husband and a terrible father whose incompetence and bad character ruined her and her children's lives... despite the fact that the first seasons not only portray Amador as a good husband and a good father, whose worst flaw was being uneducated, as well as showing that it was Maite who started the domino effect that would cause a series of misfortunes in their lives, when she had an affair with Sergio.

* ContinuityLockout: With 13 seasons (so far), the series constantly references events and characters from the past, so good luck to anyone watching this series with the episodes out of order.

Most of the characters mentioned become important over the course of the series, so they are Breakout Character.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: There are many, but to name a few: Estela Reynolds, Violeta Recio, Judith Bécker and Fermín Trujillo. Between the secondary characters, la Chusa, Parrales and Minguito are very popular.
