* MagnumOpus: ''Lego Marvel Super Heroes'' has commonly been cited as the crown jewel of all the games, due to the vast open world rendition of Manhattan and the sheer, insane amounts of ContinuityPorn, secrets, collectibles, and bonuses.

** ''Marvel Avengers'' sticks more closely to the movies, though there are plenty of unlockable characters who never appeared in the movies.

** While it does have shippers, many believed the Black Widow/Bruce Banner romance was out of nowhere with no build-up at all. In LEGO Avengers, certain cutscenes from the first Avengers movie are changed slightly to include subtle build-up to this relationship (Natasha flirting with Bruce to get him to join, Natasha kissing him on the cheek and him blushing after Loki's defeat and Hulk offering her a cupcake during the schwarma scene) so it doesn't feel as forced.

** Giving a custom character Mister Fantastic's abilities in ''LEGO Marvel'' results in a horrifying creature, due to the stretching arms and neck not being modeled for every skin. This gives them disconnected limbs and bizarre contortions that don't look right at all.

** There's a bit of this in ''Marvel Super Heroes'', too. The characters from the Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse are based off of those designs while the XMen seem to be based on the 90's cartoon show, and thus the Jim Lee designs. (Except Wolverine and Storm, who have their ''Astonishing'' looks). Beyond that, the game takes a PragmaticAdaptation approach, mixing and matching various portrayals into a new whole--including one level featuring the both the comic and movie versions of the Mandarin (the Asian one and [[spoiler:Aldrich Killian]]).

** The ''Marvel Superheroes'' adaptation also has Magneto manipulating the Statue of Liberty into a HumongousMecha. Lego would later on acquire the licence to ''DoctorWho'', where the Statue of Liberty ''could already move around by itself...''

Redirect to an IUEO trope
* InternetBacklash: When the first pictures of the new additions in ''LEGO Avengers'' were revealed, people were not happy that America Chavez, a Latina, was virtually whitewashed. Thankfully, they quickly backtracked and set her straight.
